"Bad Ass" is not the first adjective I'd use to describe Naples, FL but I think this place might actually do well among the seemingly conservative elderly that create Naples' foundation. VARIETY Covering a large chalkboard (favored medium by coffee houses) are dozens of hot/cold coffee, blends, and tea choices. There were enough choices to please my varied group. Need a souvenir? You can walk out decked in Bad Ass Coffee t-shirts, keychains, mugs and more. A general consensus-- Any cold coffee with "added flavors" resulted in a very weak "added flavor" (more like a dashing after taste) and a watered down coffee. Regular coffee was pretty good though. SERVICE Too many selections or newbie team? During my recent order, the young barrista looked flustered and took a while to first remember what went into making my order. After making our coffee, they quickly yell what it is then leave it on the counter and turn their backs... is this to avoid questions? This is also a recipe for customers stealing. SURROUNDINGS It's an oasis-- really! You step away from the poshy white pillars of Naples's 3rd Street and into a faux Hawaiian tiki lounge. It's clean, comfy, and positioned to provide relaxing conversation between patrons.

My first time here, the selection is small. Got the 100% kona, black in 12 ounces and it was great! I feel the true measure of a coffee is served black, nothing to mask the taste of a great ( or not so great) coffee, and this one was smooth, not bitter at all, easy to enjoy. Not a strong coffee taste, but smooth. A good place to stop for a pick me up.

Funky name, reminiscent of a beach with a 'tude. Not exactlhy how you would describe Bad Ass' fit to Naples. On Sunday morning, there were empty tables and no line at the Bad Ass counter, while a half block away at Janes' and Tony's on Third, there were patrons waiting and lines for take-out. Bad Ass still thinks it's on a funky beach, with untidy shop space and an offer of lots to drink with very little to eat. I had a 100% Hawaiian coffee (??) and a mash up of cherries and chocolate in a pretty dry scone for about $6.. Florida's had to have been a State that is wary of how both its farmers and its farmworkers are treated, Bad Ass, on th eother hand, is pretty cavalier about the ag industry in its home State Hawaii. Kona Coffee comes from about 700 family run farms on roughly a 30 mile long swath of volcanic mountainside. Labelling requirements are enforceable by the State of Hawaii, but not by the feds. So, Bad Ass continues to tout the Kona name without helping the industry gain some Stateside protections. Guess I'll go wait in the long line around the corner the next time. The coffee tutorial here on these disheveled couches was depressing.

Bad Ass Coffee is my favorite coffee shop in Naples, I go several times per week. It's a bit of a drive for me (10-15 minutes, versus the 5 it takes to get to the nearest Starbucks in King's Lake), but definitely worth it. My usual is iced coffee, but I sometimes switch to hot, and both are very good, CONSISTENTLY. For the 3 years I worked at Starbucks, I usually drank anything but coffee while at work (a lot of iced black tea lemonades), believing that I just didn't care for coffee. It wasn't until trying other coffee shops that I realized that NOT ALL COFFEE TASTES BITTER AND SLIGHTLY BURNED, ahem. They have a lot of options as far as syrups (including coconut!), and a separate menu of specialty drinks. They also do soft-serve ice cream. Free refills, free Wi-Fi, some outdoor seating, clean bathrooms. The staff is friendly, their 'frequent shopper' punch card system is a nice touch. One downside (for some) is that there's a TV, and it's usually tuned to Fox News. But it's usually muted, and the remote sits on a table between two comfy chairs, inviting customers to change the channel. :P

Not a coffee drinker like my wife but occasionally I need a caffine fix. This was one of the few places that kept me up and I had the blended drink. My wife had an iced coffee and she liked they had coffee cubes in the drink so it doesnt get watered down. She said its def stronger than starbucks but not as sweet which she likes. I only gave it 4 cause they closed at 7 on friday yet ont he site it says open till 9 PM.

Try everything, everything is good. Love the ambiance, really cool little place with real coffee and character.

Love this place. I only get here once a year while on vacation, but I look forward to it just as much as the restaurants. The coffee is just good. Nothing beats good coffee! The drink list is full of imaginative, delicious coffee concoctions for people who like a real treat. Also - they have both soy milk and almond milk, which is pure heaven for a veg like me. The baristas are friendly, fun, and knowledgable. The merchandise they sell is adorable and the brand is just plain cool.

They have slow and Horrible service. The prices are ridiculous. The atmosphere is corny with Stupid decor. Avoid.

I'm a week late in leaving this review...I absolutely LOVE this place!! I'll start off by saying that I was curious to know about what the inside looked like with a bad ass name like that, pun intended... and I have to say it was almost like stepping into an island paradise. I ordered an iced coffee, can't exactly remember what it was called, but I can tell you it was tasty!! Probably the best iced coffee (after Barnie's closed) I've had in years! The 2 guys behind the counter were friendly and answered curious questions my husband and I had about how they came to be, etc. I will go back every time I go to naples.

Always enjoy the coffee here. 100 % kona. 16 oz. 4.55 $. But today I asked for it to be double cupped. .50 $ for extra cup. Didn't taste as good today.

  • Amanda S.

I love this place, the coffee is strong and delicious! Many different fun flavored lattes to choose from, and the best part is the ice cubes in the iced drinks are made from coffee so your drink never gets watered down!

  • Trish B.

I like this place, but the service is beyond slow and baristas are not very professional in general. Some easy rearranging behind the register could make them faster, or maybe just having a little urgency. Both times I've been in they were almost completely out of pastries and the staff (different people working both times) seemed like they had never done this before. Bathroom also needs a good cleaning. . .

Fun, festive, perfect location, and great beverages! Even bought myself a company baseball cap with the original "bad ass"--their donkey logo. :) A good time was had by all!

Great coffee in a great atmosphere. Some baked goods. Large TV with couches and tables inside or tables and chairs outside. Everyone knows your name there. Cool atmosphere, very laid back. Tropical. Small place though and sometimes it can be quite busy.

  • Ben B.

Really friendly staff with a really chill laid back attitude :) After a long hot day at the beach this is absolutely place to cool down with a nice blended coffee drink :) I got a monkey mocha, and the lovely better half got a strawberry piña colada :) They were both awesome. Don't pass a chance to get a piece of this "Bad-Ass-ness" if you are in this neck of the woods. You won't regret it :)

  • LiLian B.

I would give 0 star if I can. The service was awful. The baristas did not know what they were doing and very unprofessional. They did not tend to their customers at all. The latte I ordered was beyond disgusting, tasted like milk with a lil taste of coffee. Please spare yourself from a bad experience and get your caffeine fix elsewhere.

Why can't this place be close to where I live?? So good. They have a crazy diverse menu and they have Kona coffee which is one of my favorites. I thought they were reasonably priced. They have seating inside and outside. The staff was really friendly, especially when we asked about places to eat lunch nearby.

I had to walk away otherwise I was going to go off on the cashier,If you dont like your job get a different one.....Very unproffesional! Go to 711 next door they have better service.

  • David P.

Completely overrated, tacky, poorly prepared coffee. The way this place bills itself you would think you were going to have a cup of Intelligentsia in Chicago. Overroasted beans make a burnt tasting cup, further exacerbated by the insanely high serving temperature of the brewed coffee. This is the one instance in which you'd be better off at Starbucks.

  • Andrew B.

This place is so good that I sometimes go twice a day for a delicious Karmal Kreme latte. The ice cubes are made out of coffee so your drink doesn't get watered down as you sip it by the beach or walking around 3rd Avenue. Great location; great people. I seriously almost opened a franchise because of how much I love this place. A must go to when you are in town!

Friendly staff, quick drink, cute mugs and coffee gear. And bad ass coffee!!! Blended coconut and vanilla joe on a hot Naples day. Made me very happy!

Honestly, I wanted to come here just so that I could check into "The Bad Ass Coffee Company." The espresso shot was a tad too burnt, the coffee was good though. There were mostly tourists in store; the atmosphere was pretty touristy for sure. Good stop for coffee in the area!

  • S B.

If you are looking for a coffee place that has attitude than this is the place. The 100% iced Kona is refreshing and the flavors of the day are always unique and intriguing. The service is out if this world as they get to know you your drink will be ready and waiting, once they see you arrive!!! Hot, iced, blended... Any way you want it they can make it happen! They even have a small assortment of tea for those that aren't coffee fans!!! If you are tired of the big box coffee places this is the place for you!!!!

  • Alaina B.

Go for the name, stay for the coffee. Sit inside, outside.. walk around 3rd street... head over to the pier. The options are endless when you grab a cup o' joe from B.A.C. I've now tried their specialty drinks, their Kona, and their regular coffee (hot and iced) and have never been disappointed. Neither in the actual coffee nor with our service. Staff is friendly, helpful, and always with a smile. They also have a great program where you can ship coffee overseas for our troops. A *little* pricey, but not really compared to other coffee houses around the globe let alone in the area. C'mon: you're in downtown old Naples near a Tommy Bahama restaurant, Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vine stores, and multi-million dollar houses... Even a Hinckley Yacht store is nearby! You do have to expect things to be a bit more money for the million-dollar ambiance alone but, honestly, their coffee is certainly worth the price tag. If you're headed over to the Boat Parade this weekend or just out and about after the Farmers Market on Saturday, head over to Bad Ass Coffee to put a little extra energy in your step and a smile on your face!

A sigh of relief from the typical Starbucks joint. Not a huge place, but they still managed to keep the machinery noises to a minimum and not treat customers like cattle. Delicious blueberry muffin and awesome Kona coffee. I stayed way longer than I planned to and experienced this place in both peak and calm hours. The staff was fast and friendly. Caters mainly to retirees and vacationers but still worth a visit.

  • Courtney W.

This place is exactly A-OK in my book. It's nothing fancy but it gets the job done when you aren't in the mood for Starbucks. They have quite a menu and some snacks to go with it. I enjoyed a vanilla coffee while the bf went with an iced green tea. He wasn't a huge fan of the green tea but it was more natural tasting than other brands I've indulged in. The coffee I thought was excellent. It came out piping hot so I had to wait about ten minutes to drink it. The atmosphere is kind of cliche but at least they own what they are. They sell their coffee there and it is a bit steep in price. They also sell some pretty cute apparel but this place had a limited selection compared to other locations I've been to.

Had the Hawaiian blend, black. Great brew. Previous visit had the same blend, but iced. Equally great. They have a few things like pastry and sandwiches, which I did not try. But their coffee is worth the trip.

  • John B.

My review is likely of limited utility because I only drink black coffee. That having been said, I look forward to coming here because I love their 100% Kona coffee. It is on the pricey side but well worth it.

Service is friendly however don't expect your order to be correct. Coffee and Teas all have an unusual flavor and not in a good way! Bleh It's worth the drive to Starbuck's! Sorry not so bad asses;(

Great coffee. I especially appreciate the coffee ice cubes for the iced coffee. We look forward to coming here whenever we're in Naples.

So, I'm a trained barista exploring the world of coffee. Drove to Bad Ass from Weston, FL. 1.5 hours each way. BTW horrible name for a coffee shop with so much Aloha. It's an oxymoron, but I digress. Espresso shot pulled on a Nuova Simonelli machine was better than the shot pulled on a La Marzocco at Brew Urban in Ft. Lauderdale. Needless to say, I wasn't expecting much after the 16 year old barista put the portafilter in wrong and it shot to the floor like a rocket when she turned the pump on. But the second shot she pulled tasted better than Brew Urban's shot. Still not high end, though, but better than a Starbucks shot. Was the Baby Barista lucky? Maybe. Maybe she has a really good consistent level tamp.... But, in any event... it was still very good and enjoyable. Kona coffee was weak (had that sitting in the airpot too long watered down taste). Probably my fault for coming in at noon. I'm sure it would taste better if it had been a little fresher. The woman running the show was wonderful and helpful. Price for a flavored latte, an espresso, and a Kona coffee plus cookie and cinnamon bun bite was about $10. Granted the food is small, but that is a GREAT deal!!! Especially given the location...which is stellar. Seating was very comfortable indoor and outdoor. Very friendly customers as well... My 1 month old baby probably helped with that. But still, a little aloha goes a long way. Walked to the beach after the coffee. I will be back. I may also put on my skinny jeans and black t-shirt and try the Illy cafe nearby. Does anyone have a knit hat I can wear on a sunny 80 degree day in Naples?

Good consistent latte. Friendly people. Their soy milk is funky, so stick with regular milk. Nice outside area.

Love this place! Every year when I visit family in Naples, I make Bad Ass a daily routine. From loose leaf-teas to caramel coffee, I take a large stash back home with me to last the entire year. It's a unique treat and a must for any local or visitor.

Bad Ass Coffee is a great go-to on Third Street for coffee. Their coffee is always hot and tasty. The Hawaiian blends are a little pricey for a cup of coffee, but if you stick to the normal blends, it's still a good cup and nice atmosphere. I've had a few nice conversations sitting on the couches in the front and the patio is a nice place to enjoy a cup on a warm morning, and that's what you want from a coffee shop. Good coffee and good people...

I liked this place and would definitely frequent it if I lived in the area. The staff was friendly and even told us about a place that had breakfast sandwiches nearby since they said they couldn't make an egg and cheese happen there. I appreciated that even if the suggested place wasn't that great. As for the coffee, I got an iced chai tea and it was delicious. They had the relaxed coffee shop vibe down. We took our coffees to go and walked down to the beach.

A for environment, C for coffee. Espresso was served in an oversized cardboard cup and was about at Starbucks quality, which is not good. Great place to get out of the sun, chill, and read or watch the game though.

  • Lily R.

Pretty good coffee and they have a big menu of "fun drinks," aka coffee for non-coffee drinkers that like is LOADED with sugar and flavored syrups. I like a simple latte and although there's is pretty good, I don't think it's their strong point. Also, every time I've been in their the employees have been slowwwww when it comes to making drinks even though the place is empty..

  • Kent M.

Good coffee stop here today. I plan to return.

    (4)
  • Valerie L.

Awesome frozen blendeds. All of their ice is made from coffee so your drink doesn't get watered down, which is neat. Really good flavored coffee though!

    (4)
  • Kenesha C.

Ok.. FIrst I'm pissed at myself because I deleted the picture of this place. I'm not really a coffee drinker so I can't say that I actually tried anything. I just give them three stars for the company name and the outside patio. Very cute.. garden like from what I remember. It seemed it should have been on a little corner near the beach versus in Naples...

  • Monica T.

Best iced coffee I've ever had! Got the kona iced coffee, just the right amount of kick to begin my day! Not to mention the coffee ice cubes in the coffee that doesn't dilute it as it melts! Smart! Will come back if I'm in the area :)

  • Dawn T.

We love Bad Ass Coffee, if nothing else because of the name! The coffee is, however, great, and the atmosphere is fun! We have been to two of their locations--in Naples and on Maui.

    (5)
  • Lo D.

Service is ok, the prices are not bad, but the coffee is not good. I've had cheaper coffee that tastes better than that. Would not recommend, would not try again, not even if it was free.

Became a regular over vacation! Loved the atmosphere and the patio seating! The service was great and they make Italian Sodas... Truly a great little hang out! Mrs F. loved the Italian Sodas!
