My husband and I ate here our last night in Naples. We had the carpaccio which I just LOVE. Hubby started with the Ceasar salad with their own dressing which he enjoyed. I really wanted the Osso Buco which the waitress recommended but it wasn't gluten free so instead I got the Black Grouper Picatta with a side of saffron rissoto. They have gluten free pasta and I would have had that but this was the first place that I went to that had BLACK grouper(much better than red). YUM. My hubby had the steak. They had a very nice wine menu that were a little on the higher end but since we bought a coupon from restaurant.com we went ahead and splurged. Oh they also had a very nice creme brulee. It's one block off the main street(5th) so it is much easier to find a parking spot. There was parking in the back The only con is that the decor was a little older......maroon carpet. But the food more than makes up for it!! I would most definitely come back!!!!

This is a real neighborhood gem! I am embarrassed to admit that it took us 14 years to walk in the door and have dinner here. We took a party of 6 and everyone raved about their food. The service was perfect. There were 5 women and 1 man, so conversation was rather intense. The waiter was very patient and let us take our time ordering. The calamari appetizer we ordered was very unusual and delicious. I highly recommend it. The anchovies were also delicious. The portions were generous but not overwhelming. We are so delighted to be in close proximity to this wonderful Italian restaurant.

NOT so much. Overpriced, small portions. Typical 5th Ave. seasonal types. Osso. Buco was tough. Best was lobster bisque. I think we won't be back here. But thanks Naples Originals for the try.

Had a truly suburb dinner tonight at Ciao...a restaurant that we have loved for more than 20 years... We popped in without a reservation and the lovely hostess, Joan, could not have been more welcoming despite the fact that the restaurant was full! Our server, Katie, was a delight and, of course, the food was so wonderful....you must come here for a truly wonderful dinner and experience.

We ate here today for an early Sunday dinner. They have an unbelievable special for $25 per person including a bottle of wine. The food was excellent. We added a special appetizer to our fixed price menu of sauté baby artichokes which were finished with a mild olive oil and garlic. They were great. We all had pastas - lasagna, penne and meatballs, and penne in a light tomato cream sauce with proscuitto and peas. They were excellent. I know this restaurant has been in Naples for a long time. Its the real deal if you want authentic Italian food. The ambiance is a bit dated but classy. Looks like the patrons are old naples, which are those who know where the good food is. I highly recommend it.

Not amazing. But very good. Hubby is still hungry. Uh oh. He had the veal chop Milanese. Very tasty. I had the grouper special. And the asparagus appetizer. Service was good. We used a restaurant.com certificate and wonder if they shrunk the portion. 7:30 on a Saturday night in the summer not very busy either. It's a nice place but wouldn't run back.

Ate at Ciao on 2/12/13 with a group of 6. It was busy for a Tuesday evening, but it was Mardi Gras celebration downtown. I was disappointed somewhat for what we got. Particularly the caprese salad I was going to share with my husband. I asked it it could be split, but was informed it couldn't as it would spoil the presentation... 3 small wedges of tomato with mozzarella and a drizzle of very nice balsamic and olive oil. No wonder..how do you split 3 SMALL wedges for 2 people. This was for $12.00 so this was way overpriced for a "salad". My pasta with lobster, asparagus and mushrooms was very tasty and Osso buco delicious. Grouper was good not fantastic, and the small slice of veal parm, not enough I thought the portions were small for the prices asked. Bill for 6 with 2 bottles of moderate wine was $450 including tip. Coffee and cookies for dessert. Not rushing back

Food not that great. Very small portions. Very expensive for what we got!

6 of dined together, we all enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the food was great. I really enjoyed my seafood!

I see that it has not been reviewed. I have been here at least three times in the last couple of years, when visiting Naples, although I have not been to Naples in the last 8 or 9 months until now. Didn't make it there on this trip. Prior visits have been great. Excellent food, with great service. The chef owner goes out of his way to make it an enjoyable evening.

This is the very best -AUTHENTIC- Italian, fine-gourmet, cuisine in this part of South Florida! In fact, it's currently one of the Top-Ten Highest 2013 Zagat(27 food score) Rated restaurants between Tampa and Miami(West Coast Florida). I concur, and this should also be brought to the attention of Michelin, Gayot and AAA Mobil. The owner, Gianfranco Loreti who is native-Italian, is very passionate and highly dedicated to both his craft and customers. The table side Dover Sole here is even better then at both the Ritz Carlton dining room and Cote'Dazur. The pasta in the truffle cream sauce as well as the Osso Bucco are absolutely superb! Excellent wine list, service and terrific made-in-house desserts. This place is a must visit if you are a foodie craving something above and beyond the caliber of what is served at the local and nationally popular high-end steak house chains. It is both elegant and refined in every aspect - food, decor and service; I highly recommend it !

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
