First time at the restaurant after driving by it for 15 years. The place was very busy and the service was good. The salad bar was well done with a nice selection . I had the prime rib. It was very good.

Our family loved this restaurant when they regularly traveled to Naples over 10-20 years ago and they have constantly suggested we try it out ever since we moved here 2 years ago. After constant conversations on "Oh! We should go there one day!" as we drive up 41... we finally made it happen. The overall experience did not live up to the hype. I actually liked the decor and dated atmosphere, there is not much "culture" in Naples, so it's nice to see a place that has withstood the test of time. The good parts of our experience included the wait staff - our waitress was very nice and attentive and although I did not have the salad bar, I checked it out and it is one of the best in the area in terms of variety. It also looked extremely fresh and well maintained. I opted for soup rather than salad, and was disappointed. It had all the ingredients to be a great bowl of wedding soup, just significantly lacked in seasonings. Very bland. That led into our dinners. My boyfriend had the special (I can't remember what type of meat it was exactly, but was BBQ and came on top of cheesy grits) and I chose the braised beef stroganoff over fettuccine. We agreed that both dishes lacked seasonings, flavor and were overall just - OK. No wow factor. His meat was cooked perfectly, but was significantly lacking in flavor. The same review for my stroganoff. The beef itself was extremely tender and cooked very well, but the noodles were extremely overcooked, and the dish itself lacked seasoning. No problems on portion size like some of the past reviews, but for the price, we will probably not return.

This place was packed!!!!! We had to wait about forty five minutes before finally giving up and taking a seat at a bar table, no biggie. The staff was really apologetic and nice. They were quick with a drink while we waited. I had been awaiting the prime rib which was sadly sold out (this is the busy season in Naples, it was Valentines Weekend, and it was after 8pm so you really can't fault the place). The salad bar was delicious, martini's were huge, and the ribs were great. I have a thing for old "neighborhood" establishments and this place is definitely one of them.

We went for happy hour (half price) and light dinner. They had a bar menu with soup and salad bar for just $5.00. Yes, it is off season now but what a deal. As reported by many others, this is an outstanding salad bar. No iceberg lettuce here-- all premium stuff and tons of diversity. The Italian Wedding soup and Tomato bisque were obviously made from scratch and truly outstanding. Many varieties of hot bread too. The highlight of our dinner was a visit from the owner/chef who wanted us to try a free sample of the prime rib. I have lived in the midwest, west and southwest and have never had better or more flavorful prime rib in my life. No need for any kind of knife. The service was prompt and extremely friendly. It was quiet even though most tables were full This place in in a quiet area of a busy road but it is definitely worth your time and effort to visit

Good atmosphere and food. Will go again. Salad bar wonderful. Bread out of this world. Very friendly staff.

Delicious prime rib dinner with a salad bar tucked away in a tiny pantry-like alcove that made me feel as though I had stepped back in time over 40 years ago. Everything we ate was delicious and our waitress was a pleasure to deal with. I feel as though this place caters to a much older clientele and could benefit by enticing a younger crowd. The dated atmoshere and dreadful paintings on the walls will deter a newer generation of patrons. The fireplace was a nice touch.

Service was pretty good. Seating and atmosphere is drab- think of bad Cracker Barrel seating. They could totally use some renovations. There is no patio to enjoy the water view. Steak was amazing. You could come and fill up on just the unlimited soup and salad bar. We will be back.

Classic steak house noted for prime rib. Super salad bar. I had the 10 oz prime rib and it was excellent. Wife has chop sirloin I thought it was excellent. Companion ordered lobster tail. Server came back in a big to tell us that they were re-doing the tail because it didn't come out well. The tail that did come out was not as white as a tail should be, so back it went. Third time was not the charm but by that time the 2 of us were almost done with our meal, so she ate the tail, figuring that you don't order tails in a chop house. Server did offer her a dessert. Next time we get the prime rib.

My wife and I had prime rib and it was perfectry done. The salad bar was great with many options. We will be back.

Service was attentive. We had prime rib and a NY strip steak; both were very, very tasty and cooked as ordered. Soup and salad bar were nice included additions to the meal with a choice of 3 soups and a fairly extensive salad bar. The only negative was the long line to get salad. We were too full to get dessert which sounded yummy.

We went to the Pewter mug on a weekday during summer and got right in. My husband and I ordered the prime rib dinners. We loved it. Very tasty and a great cut. Problems... We spent over $100, and we don't drink alcohol. The atmosphere felt a little "old folks home." I'd recommended it to my family for sure!

This place is really good I was impressed ! The chicken was perfectly cooked nice and juicy with some real nice spice, the salad bar was loaded with all the toppings and homemade soup to boot. Friendly staff and tasty food make this place a winner !

I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed! The prime rib is a must try, as is the key lime pie! The beef stroganoff is also very good. The service is always great and their bartenders are always pleasant to converse with. I hope to go back and try more of their menu soon!

First time eating at this steakhouse. We were seated fast, hostess was kind. Server was terrible, rude, and unapproachable. Dishes were not bussed before meal came. Food was less than average for the prices they charge. Kids had hamburger and fries nothing special. Beef stroganoff was average and coconut shrimp was simple terrible. The dipping sauce was a jelly, and the shrimp were breaded and came out cold. The baked potato was the only edible food and you can't really mess up a baked potato. Would definitely eat somewhere else especially for $100 for a family of 4.

In Florida, seafood everywhere. Needed a break and came here for some beef. Boy did I pick the right place. Good wine list at good prices. Dinner comes with a soup and salad bar. French onion soup and Clam chowder were both outstanding. Salads were all well stocked, fresh and an amazing selection. I was smart to not order an appetizer but the oysters Rockefeller and calimari sounded delicious. Waiters timing was impeccable. Table cleared of the plates and viola! Out comes our prime rib. Served on warmed plates! Its the details that can make a meal great. I had mine blackened and it was the best piece of meat I can remember having. Oh, I'm from Chicago, so I should know. Can't speak for the seafood but you can't go wrong with the soup, salad and the prime rib. BTW, It's not just a Sunday night deal. Waiter said the kitchen puts a prime rib in the oven every night and slow roasts for the next day. Will definitely be back.

It was my 4th night in Florida and we were treated to dinner by Suzy's boyfriend Rich (my great uncle). A nice classy place with a Pirate Ship perched in the middle of the room. We sat at the bar and I enjoyed the (There will be a $5 Dollar Whining Charge) sign hanging. We Ordered Drinks: Rich and my Grandma got regular martinis, Suzy got a Rusty Nail while I got a Smurf-arita (made from Blue Curacao), then we were sat at our table. We first helped ourselves to the Salad Bar and their homemade soup. I got a bowl of their Clam Chowder and my Salad which consisted of: Spinach, Beets, Black Olives, Cheddar Cheese, Red Onion, Chickpeas, Banana Peppers and Bacon. For our Appetizers: Rich, Suzy and my Grandma were happy with the Soup and Salads they got at the Salad Bar I was the only one to order an Appetizer, so I got their Braised Escargot: baked with Garlic and Shallot Madre'd Butter and topped with Asiago Cheese and Panko Bread Crumbs (French Delicacy). For our Entrees: Grandma got the Roast Beef with Sweet Potato Mash Suzy and Rich both got Steaks, while I got The Prime Rib: Prime Minister's Cut 16 oz. of Meaty goodness topped with Bernaise Sauce. Such a fantastic meal and I'm looking forward to the next time I come to Florida !!!

Our Girl's Night Out has chosen this as "our" home from now on! For 8 months we enjoyed sampling a new site and we are now all in agreement that none are as welcoming as this one! Last night we enjoyed having Tony as our server and he professionally handled our group of 15 without skipping a beat! The food and prices are excellent too!

About $30 for steak, kind of pricey but I have to admit The steak was pretty juicy and the baked potato was good as well. They have a salad bar that comes with the steak, and the soup & salad were good as well. Our waiter was very friendly and overall my family and I had a very good experience. Supposedly the prime rib is VERY good but I was in the mood for a nice 12oz steak.

The salad and soup bar is very good. The steak is terrible. However, the prime rib is good.

Good company and food. Busy place. Noise level a bit higher than usual. Great salad bar, decent prime rib and baked potato. Put it on your list!

Was a little concerned when the first thing we saw when was a salad bar, we thought that we were going to a more upscale restaurant based on the reviews. However the salad bar was delicious, actually probably one of the best salad bars we have been to. I have prime rib which was delicious, my husband ordered a striploin and it was a little over cooked for his liking. Overall we really enjoyed our meal.

Backstory: I was born and raised here in Naples, and have never been to the Pewter Mug but decided to try it out with the family. I've heard nothing but good about it so what can it hurt. The good: the salad bar is amazing, fresh lettuces and very well kept. I ordered the half chicken and it was very, very good. Cooked to perfection, amazing seasoning and glaze. What the family got I can't speak on as I didn't try it but I'm assuming it was good too. But the reason why it's only getting a two star rating is service. They close at 9, we got there at 8. More then enough time to get in and out. We got two cokes and a water, 10 mins in are cups and salad bar plates were empty. I kid you not we LITERALLY waited another 10 minutes to get refills and never got them! So twenty minutes in, 10 minutes with empty glasses, and not seeing our waitress I, a patron, took our three glasses to the bar to get refills! The bartender must've told our waitress because guess what we finally saw her again with three pitchers of beverages! REALLY?!? 10 minutes in and someone has to tell you! I'm sorry but good service is the reason we go out and eat and we didn't get any! Seriously the food was amazing and it should've been paired with equal service! I may try the pewter mug again, but who knows after that dreadful showing of "service".

This place was like a family restaurant from the 80s. The Salad bar was nice. My wife and I had the prime rib. Mine was sent back since it was not the Medium Rare I ordered. It was replaced and was good. However, I am used to eating at Longhorn and Outback. This restaurant is not as nice and the food is not as good as those chains. I'll pass the next time we are in the area!

Going to make this really simple. Great service by our server Erin. This server was a ball of energy and very helpful to a first timer. The place bills itself as a steak, seafood and cocktails place. It was built in 1970 and in some way looks it and in others does not. They have spent money to keep the place clean and neat. Good to see people put money back into their business. The only play here is the prime rib for the meat lover. It comes in three sizes and all are priced somewhat to the high end. But it was good prime rib. Of note the kitchen is very visible from many tables in the room. I saw the chef prepare a prime rib plate and a huge cut of prime rib was sliced and placed on a plate. I told the people who were with me someone got the huge cut. Funny how life works. It was mine and I got the medium cut but still was huge. With every dinner the soup and salad bar is included along with a potato. Warning do not hit the salad bar more than once as the portions are huge here and you will be using a carry out bag for the entree. Mrs K. was not able to finish her beef stroganoff due to the salad bar and its wonderful bread. Old Florida and darn good.

What can I say? Price for pound was a solid prime rib. Salad bar was spot on! Service was great. Can't say enough. Looking forward to my next trip to the Deep South West of Florida.

I've been going to Pewter Mug since the 80s. Went twice in the last two months and was less than impressed. Last month we were a party of four. Not one of us received an entrée that was edible. Who knew that a sweet potato charred black was acceptable to be served? Not one of the steaks were cooked to order. Tried again this evening. I ordered the special and was shocked to find the "carmalized" onions to be burnt to a crisp. The potatoes weren't much better. The fish was so dried out that there were craters on the top of the fish. I returned my entrée and declined the remaining "declined" entrée. I was then charged for the salad bar rather than my entire dinner being comped. A manager never stopped by the table. My dining companion ordered a steak and sweet potato. The potato was burned and the steak was over cooked. Thirty yeas of patronage and I'm done. So done.

Went here on a recommendation for my boyfriend's birthday. The atmosphere was unexpected pleasant and charming. The salad bar was top shelf. Our meals were done to all of our satisfaction. We all agreed that we will be back again. I found my steak place in Naples!

We odered a fried calimari appetizer, and it was good. We shouldn't have because the salad bar plus dinner was more than enough. The salad bar was extensive and fresh. Didn't try the soup, but it looked good. My wife ordered the cold water 8 oz lobster tail, and it was delicious. We have a home in Rhode Island, eat lobster often, so we know what good lobster tastes like. I had the 12 oz prime rib. It was perfectly cooked, trimmed of fat and was excellent. Noise level was moderat despite all tables being occupied as it was Valentines Day. They take reservations which is nice, but are only open for dinner. Entree price was a little higher than moderate but good value considering the salad bar. Service was prompt and friendly. The only negative was the waitress announced the specials without giving the price. Turned out when asked, the prices were higher than anything on the menu. Give the Pewter Mug a try. You won't be disappointed.

Meh....nothing to write home about. I went with a party of 8 and a couple small children (who are very well behaved...I'm not crazy :) ). It was nice that they had a back room for large parties so we could visit with each other but past that I was less than impressed. The food is reasonably priced but only one of us took leftovers if that tells you anything about portion size...and for as infamous as they seem to be for their prime rib, the rack of ribs was a pretty measly portion. Wait staff was nice and timely...but the food was not impressive.

This was my first time and my last time. I went there and we could not find the entrance. The door in the front is where you have to enter and not the side where there is a arrow for the restraunt. We walked in and was seated instantly and when I was walking towards are table the ambiance was beautiful, a fireplace and the rope lights with small pictures on the walls , reminded me of a country steak house. We were asked our drinks my finance ordered a ginger ale but the waitress did not now if she had that. So he was surprised when she came with the gingerale because she said that she only had coke products so he ordered a coke. Then we ordered are food and was not told about the salad bar but my finance said that it comes ith every meal. Went to the salad bar and was not impressed because the soup was uncovered, the vegetables and the salads limited. and the spoons to get the food out of the containers were missing. Someone took them and did not replace them. Are food came quick after finishing the salad bar, The clean staff came and they were great and when he came I ended up asking him for a refill and he said he would call my waitress after 65 precent of the meal was done. The waitress did not ask us if we needed anything while eatting and did not refill our drinks. I slurped the drink to see if anyone would come and not one waitress came. I looked around and saw the some of the waitress were working on the silverware not the customers. The waitress seemed to have disapeared during our dinner, I wanted to order desert for his birthday but decided not to because I was so frustated with the lack of service from my waitress. The meals are around 25.00 and up. The special was 25.00 dollars which was a mahai fish with mango sauce. My finance order steak and fries. The steak was bloody after requesting to the waitress medium rare and this could have been resolved if she came back and she could have cooked it more. I tried his fries and they were partial cooked frozen fries, rushed, lacking crispyness, and to much salt. I ordered the duck and that was good but some parts were over cooked and needed more sauce but the presentation was great, the sweet potato was good. One more thing the bread was delicious.

We enjoyed the Pewter Mug. Sure, it is full of "grey hairs", but the prime rib cannot be beat. If you go there, get the prime rib...that is all. Don't think you are going to get some amazing new and different special entree. Just go with what they are famous for, the Rib. The salad bar was great, too. All the soups and salads are homemade. They were accommodating to my kids, too.

Used to love coming here, but now it's going downhill. I've been a regular here since it re-opened about 5 years ago. I've always enjoyed the food, and the friendliness of the wait staff and bartenders. My girlfriend and I came here for dinner and did not have a good experience, and really weren't treated very well. My girlfriend ordered one of the specials, that came with mushroom rissotto as a side. She's allergic to mushrooms, so we asked if they could substitute something or just leave the mushrooms out of the rissotto. We were pretty emphatically told "no, nothing can be changed" because it was a special. They ended up offering her broccoli, which we could have just gotten from the salad bar but whatever. I ordered the baby back ribs, which weren't tender at all and really had no flavor. Our dining experience was not really a good one at all. Menu hasn't been changed in ages, interior and decor is extremely dated, and the only thing that's changed over the past few years is the drink prices have gone up and the service has gone down.

A new year, returned with wife, daughter and son-in-law. No complaints. My wife had the chopped steak and loved it. My son-in-law had the Half-Chicken (brined) and thought it excellent. I had the very good prime rib and our daughter ( vegetarian) stuck to the salad bar but was satisfied. One thing is different - they now have required valet parking. This would normally be a deal-breaker for me (paranoid) but all went well.

Called for a reservation and the front desk answered with a yawn and a simple "hello". I thought I dialed someone's house. Leslie didnt possess much personality or customer service. We came in anyway. It was like a retirement home. Very slow service. Ok prime rib and salad bar. Not for young families!
