We always make it a point to stop at Pazzo's at least once every time we are in Naples. The food is delicious, portions are generous, and we have always had good service. We have never been disappointed. Although I am not a seafood person, others in my family are and have always been pleased. I personally love the Chicken Parmesan. Everything I have had has been flavorful and presented well. As with anything on Fifth Avenue, it's a little pricey. P.S. - They have gorgeous bathroom sinks.

Yes, I gave Pazzo 5 stars. I would give them 10 if I could. - that's how great this restaurant is. The ambiance is romantic and relaxing and modern. We arrived with friends who are also residents of Naples. Our friends are foodies, and highly recommended this place. The food was the best I've had in Naples. Campiello's is the only restaurant that is comparable. I ordered the Parmesan chicken, and it was very flavorful and very beautifully presented. Everyone else at my table talked nonstop about how delicious their food was. Everything was very fresh and cooked to perfection. I can go on and on about how perfect everything was, but the cherry on the sundae was our server, Milos. Milos was punctual, quick witted and knowledgable. He made perfect suggestions as far as wine, what my husband would love, and the perfect appetizers. He was correct in everything he suggested.... Not because he was on autopilot, but because he took the time to really converse with us and get to know us. We truly enjoyed our dining experience that much more because of Milos. He even showed us photos of his newborn son :) Milos surprised us by bringing us shots of limoncello. As if that wasn't enough, he then brought us shots of something chocolatey. So good! We were giggling and having so much fun because we truly felt like we were in restaurant heaven! We decided to share a couple of desserts- which were also pure perfection! If you only go to one restaurant in Naples- this is the one! I cannot wait to not only go back, but to introduce ALL of my friends and family to this jewel!

Not only is the staff incredible, the food is absolutely amazing! We had the mussels for an appetizer and the grouper piccata for our main course. I'm not a fish person but it was very mild and so flavorful, I knew it was fresh fish!

The service here deserves 5 stars; Adriano was a very attentive, personable waiter. The manager (or possibly owner) was very nice as well & stopped by to see how we were enjoying our meal. Our appetizers were perfection (pictured). For dinner (we were already stuffed before it arrived), I had the Grouper and my husband had the Sea Bass. Great presentation - four star flavor. Over all, a little pricey but this is the spot for a special occasion or romantic dinner.

Great food and atmosphere. Short rib meatballs as an appetizer are delicious. Great Fifth Ave spot.

The meal started off a little shaky with our waitress disappearing after taking drink orders from 2 people at our table of 7 (the rest of us had ordered drinks at the bar before we sat down). After what seemed like an eternity, one at the table tried to flag down the captain/manager. He ignored us, ran the other way and within a minute, our new waiter, Rob, showed up. He knew we had a couple of drinks pending and even knew what they were. Normally, this kind of start would have ruined the night, but we soldiered on. The food turned out to be awesome and the service perfect from then on. I had some kind of pasta dish with crabmeat and an oh so delicious sauce. It might be a tad too sweet for some of you, but I had to stop myself from licking the plate. Rough start, great ending...just go!

Fantastic food served in an elegantly decorated atmosphere. Sat at the bar and john served me with great attentiveness and even better menu recommendations. Highly recommend!

Food was great and very tasty, waiter attentive but to the point of making us feel rushed. Cleared the table before everyone was finished, and one person had to finish eating after the table had been cleared. It was like the waiter had somewhere else to go. Still don't miss the fine food!

Pazzo Pazzo Pazzo, I love thee. Not as much as I love my girlfriend, whom I love more then anything, and not as much as I love bacon, which I love more than any other food, and not as much as I love a good buffet, because who doesn't like gluttonous variety, and not as much as I love a good steak, which is to die for and possibly, be buried with. However, I love thee all the same. It was tough to give Pazzo five stars. This was my first time eating in Naples in years, and there are a tremendous number of Italian restaurants. So how do you give an Italian place 5 stars with no local basis for comparison? I mean, if I went to 2 or 3 of the multitude of Italian places, all within a few blocks, I may find that Pazzo sucks by comparison. Well, if that happens, I'll amend this review. But I find it hard to believe that it wouldn't hold its own against any of the other Italian restaurants. Its such a cute place, too. Beautiful decor, comfortable tables, very romantic. Servers singing happy birthday to people in Italian. Everything about this place screams awesome. We sat at the bar and had a glass of wine because our table wasn't ready at our reservation time. When sat, the service was fantastic, the bread was delicious (and I'm sorry, but bread service can make or break that 5th star), and the food was fantastic. We both got the Linguine E Crab - blue and king crab in a linguine pasta with a spicy marinara sauce. The sauce was delicious - not too spicy, though we did end up telling the table sat next to us not to get it because the woman ordering it doesn't like any spice at all - chunks of crab, and it leaves you with a need to have more. Some might say that its because the portion was too small, but it wasn't. It was just that good. The only complaint I will give the dish is that there were a few pieces of shell in there, and that really isn't acceptable. You should be able to remove the crab meat from the shell without getting it into the dish. That said, I enjoyed this meal so much, that even if I deduct 1/2 star for it, I'm still rounding to 5. We finished the night by splitting a dessert. My girlfriend left it up to me, and I surprised her by choosing this kind of fresh fruit tower - layers of light cookie/cracker with fresh cream and raspberries and blackberries and strawberries. Oh my god it was good. The thing didn't last 2 minutes before we polished it off. So, I will say it again, its possible there are just as good or better Italian places in Naples - I wouldn't know. I do know the people that gave this place bad reviews simply had the bad experience exception to a good restaurant. Pazzo is well worth your time.

Everything was excellent, service was outstanding,we had 4 people on our party and everyone enjoyed what they ordered,we will put this place on our list of good restaurants to go to when I'm town.

We had an excellent meal and service here. We were able to slip in on a Saturday night without reservations (and saw them turn away other couples and families even though after our meal there were still open tables so that was obviously rude & unnecessary). Everybody at our table ordered something different from the tortelloni to the veal w/broccoli rabe & hot peppers and everything was equally delicious. Service was pretty good and the food was top-notch.

Right up there with Campiello's as one of Naples best restaurants. Decor is romantic, although getting a little old...still nice however. Tables aren't too crammed together which is nice. Food is very good and they do have creative specials.

Another disappointment followed by yelp's overrating. What's wrong with FL yelp? 1. food : "C" because it is the "American" cooking style pasta which is totally overpriced. I am used to real pasta boiled "al dente" at Italian restaurants in Upper East Side of New York City. Pasta Sauces are not made delicately, too. 2. Ambiance : C because its decor is "old" and needs face-lift. Especially it needs to replace the carpet which has musty, dirty-milky odor. I don't understand why people don't complain about it. Maybe their nose is not good enough. (actually it is good for them) 3. services: "A" because our waitress is very sweet and attentive. Everyone is very pleasant. Just so hard to find a place to eat in Fort Myers areas.

My family enjoys coming to Pazzo for their tasty pasta dishes and pleasant atmosphere. It's a great spot for dinner and then a post-meal walk along Fifth Avenue.

Great place in downtown Naples. We valeted the car behind the restaurant. Downtown Naples. Is very nice. I ordered the wine and we had a nice Cab. Decent, but pricey wine list. Be prepared to spend 60+ for a decent bottle of wine. Entrees also ran high but this is Naples so you have to figure on that. Service was very good. We had a cute girl wait on us and she was attentive. Atmosphere was very nice. Very busy restaurant but not a lot of clanking of dishes. There was a birthday and one of the busboys sang "Happy Birthday" in Italian with a beautiful voice. Nice touch, Pazzo. Food was excellent. Everyone loved their entrees. My pork chops were outstanding. Pork chops were grilled beautifully and garnished with peppers and other veggies. I am salivating as I write this ! Really good. We had cappuccino and an after dinner drink. Bravo, Pazzo. Now my colleague has to figure out how to expense the meal !

Merivglioso, capo Di capi, I can't say too much but cannot understand why it is only 4.5 stars. The people that brought it down a half a point must be food intolerant or have no taste buds . Everything about this place is a 10, the food only to be complimented by the staff and the ambiance. Mangia, buon appetito

I unfortunately have to add a poor review. While I stand by their exceptional food, on three separate occasions, I have either made reservations through OpenTable or directly and have been rebuffed at the door. Advertised hours should be honored. It isn't great food if it isn't available.

It's hard for me to rate the ambiance of a restaurant where the median age of its diners is 55+, so I'll leave it at this: cuisine-appropriate decor and a well-appointed bar define this restaurant's physical environment. Pazzo's steak is a winner. If you're in the mood for something slightly more adulterated than a dry-aged steak that only allows for butter and light seasoning, Pazzo's Tuscano is your best bet on the menu...the Marsala wine sauce went PERFECTLY with everything on the plate, but especially with the peppercorn-crusted steak. If you've eaten in the Little Italys of New York or Baltimore, you might be in for a surprise if your heart and soul aren't completely with your taste buds in Naples, but not to fret - the food you get will be prepared with the Pazzo touch. Not quite "New Italian," but certainly not traditional fare...either way, I'm a fan!

Terrific Italian food. The wild boar ragu, tuna with pasta, and gluten free grouper piccata were amazing. My son had talked about the tuna dish since he had it our our trip last year. It didn't disappoint. Great service and wine. Love this place! PS- hands down best gluten free pasta I've ever had. I need to know the vendor. You'd never know it was GF. Yum!!

Went with my family for the day to Naples with the thought of trying different restaurants. We had Dinner at another restaurant and decided to save room for dessert and espresso at this Pazzo place! Extremely disappointed when the hostess told us they couldn't seat us for just desserts and coffee. I guess we know where not to go when in Naples. All my friends will hear the news too!!

Visiting my folks in Naples - dad treated to dinner at Pazzo. It was fantastic, service was friendly and made great recommendations on apps and meals. It was a busy Friday night and the manager was very accomodating. If you have the chance go check out Pazzo on 5th Avenue and I highly recommend the black grouper!

Great. I had the best meal of my dining life. Grouper with shrimp and crab. It was the best and a meal I'll always compare other restaurants to. Service was ok but they were packed with tourists during high season.

Beautiful room. Service was outstanding. The manager actually went to a sister restaurant to obtain the bottle of wine we requested. Waitress was great. Two complaints: Pappardelle was swimming in sauce, WAY too much, noodles were tough to find. A side order of sauteed escarole was actually sautéed jalapeno's with a bit of escarole. They took it off our bill, but quite an odd dish.

Was in the mood for some good Italian on my last nite in Naples. Walked over from my hotel. Was very pleased. Sat at the bar, chatted with a couple of full timers and regulars. I had a glass of wine and the pappardelle bolognese. Very good and priced right.

We have been here many times over the years and I love the food and ambience. We eat out almost every night when we are in Naples and this is always on the top of our list.. I can't wait to go back. Try their delicious meatballs

We usually eat at the Italian place across the street but I can't remember the name of it off hand. This place looked busy so we figured we should try it. I'm glad we did. Chicken parm was perfect and my wife's tortellini was also. It's expensive though if you want a side or a salad everything is al a cart. However you get a lot of bread to start with and the portions were big. Unless you're starving and want to drop a couple hundred on dinner the main course is plenty. I still had half of mine to take home. This is more of a "special occasion" place to eat. Food was perfect though and restrooms were clean! We will be back for that special occasion

About 5-7 years ago I would say this was the best restaurant in Naples. It's not that anymore, but at their best they are still very good and reliable. The space could maybe use some sprucing up and they definitely will pack you in. The service is usually good, although not outstanding. Menu is creative, yet traditional, but can get a little heavy handed on some rich flavors.

This place is great to bring a date in season. We went in November and they had a good scene inside. Young couple and the wait staff loved it. Hooked us up big time on drinks and let us try "chocolate red wine". Had the steak and chicken, both were awesome. Only like a few places on 5th. If you like 5th or are new to it and haven't tried this place, slot it to the top. Ask for a maker's manhattan light on the rocks in a rock glass, not up, and they'll know who sent you.

Absolutely fabulous dining experience. The food was spectacular and the service (waiter was Michael) was superb. They willingly accommodate your requests; he actually offered to prepare as she would prefer when my wife asked if the arrabiata was milder or spicy hot. The ambience of the restaurant is nice, you don't feel like you are dining with the table next to you. A definite PLUS restaurant I would recommend to anyone.

My wife and I came here for the first time for our anniversary dinner just a couple days ago. We made our reservation through OpenTable and let them know that it was our anniversary and that we would like a good table. If you live in Naples, you know how things get on 5th street in the evening. At about 6pm, the entire 55+ community is looking for a place to sit down and eat, before then, they are just looking for a place to swallow a few bottles of wine, so we made our reservation for 5:15pm. When we got there, the hostess gave us a great little table right by the front window. It was early so there were mostly just groups of people drinking bottles of wine by the case. Our server, Adrian, immediately approached us, wished us a happy anniversary (they paid attention), and took our drink order. Adrian was amazing, even when a group of six came and sat at the next table and immediately required his full attention, he was still very attentive and patient with us. PRO TIP: This place has an early dining menu from 5pm to 6pm. From this menu you can get 2 main dishes and a bottle of wine ($35). This means that if you come just a bit early, you can get a good meal, a bottle of really decent wind and beat the crazy rush of retirees that usually demand 100% of your waiters attention. Thats what we call a multiple positive. For an appetizer we order the Caprese salad. The tomatoes and mozzarella slices were huge, but there were really only 3 of each and it was not very good. We definitely could have done without it. My wife had the Rigatoni Arrabbiata, a delicious looking and tasting meal with a beef that had been marinating forever. I only had a single bite, but it was very good. I had the Chicken Vodka Penne which was unlike any penne vodka that I've ever had. Rather than the meal being covered in vodka sauce, the penne, prosciutto, and artichoke hearts are covered in a creamy pesto sauce, and then laid on a bed of vodka sauce. The combo is pretty good. The meal came with a choice of a pino grigio or a cabernet. We chose the pino. It was nice and little sweet. For dessert we ordered the chocolate cake and shared it, and during our dessert our server brought us these nice chocolate liqueur shots to celebrate. The overall experience was great. That being said, one of the main reasons it was great was the early dining menu. Had we not had that menu, we would have paid double for our entrees and quite a bit for a bottle of wine. The food is good, but probably not so good that I would pay $25 for the dish that I ordered (which is the regular menu price). When we return, it will definitely be for the early dining. As I said above, multiple positives!!

What a wonderful place! We grabbed a reservation after looking around 5th way to long. We had our boys with us 6 and 8 years old, and we were not feeling a lot of love from the local, 60-something scene! We were greeted with warm smiles and sat 30 minutes early due to our table being ready. The waiter was kind and changed a few items to meet the boys wishes and off we went on a Italian culinary experience. Authentic, tasty, and professional from start to finish!!! Thanks for renewing my faith in the Naples scene for families under retirement age!!!!!

Excellent food in a definitely upscale environment yet the crowd is dressed from casual to decked out. Note: this is not a $$ place it is fully $$$ (avg is much more like $35-40 per person).

We were in the mood for a good Italian restaurant somewhere in downtown Naples and debated between Pazzo and Campiello's on 3rd. After comparing the menus, we decided on Pazzo. We were so happy we did! I booked our reservations easily online and we were immediately sat upon arrival. Our waiter, Daniel, was by far the best server we've experienced in Naples so far! He gave us his recommendations on every category on the menu and detailed descriptions of everything we asked about. He recommended the perfect wine for all of our palate's and made us all feel extremely comfortable and at home. We will return and ask for him everytime! We started with his recommendation of the Cozze Nero mussels which were fantastic. The sauce, artichokes and bread that accompanied the mussels were superb. The entrees we ordered were the Linguine e Vongle, Spaghettini Pisanne and the Vitello "del Prete". Each dish was recommended to us after we explained to Daniel what we were in the mood for and they were all perfectly cooked. The flavors of each dish were incredible. We finished up with Lasagnetta dessert that was to die for. Best meal I've had in a very long time - best restaurant we've experienced in Naples. Five stars!!!

A fabulous meal. Went there on the recommendation of our finicky and fabulous friends who are gluten-free fanatics (us too)! That an up-scale Italian restaurant would have gluten free options - let alone a separate and extensive gluten free accompanying menu was tremendously cool and welcoming. We were greeted (unexpectedly!) by name and by our server who - even though we were 15 minutes early - was not only ready and raring for our arrival, had a delightful table by the front window prepared for us. Our daughter commented on the lovely rose and how she wished she had one...(more on that later). After settling in with some terrific cocktails, we ordered the artisanal cheese plate and soup of the day (roasted tomato). Both were exquisitely prepared and thoughtfully conceived (a through-line on nearly every thing that we placed in our mouth). Our waitress, though not gluten-free, took great care to understand the ins and outs of our requests, making certain that there were no serious allergies or concerns (we explained that we eat GF for nutritional and not medical reasons)...and found her approach and guidance to main dishes to be equally refreshing, authentic and delightful. We ordered a vegetarian (not vegan) pasta (predominantly light-sauced based and around cappellini that was beautifully presented), a gluten free spaghettini with sausage and sirloin meatballs (substituting the spaghettini with GF pene), and a similar sub on the Arrabiatta special with pulled beef. Each and every dish was not only satisfying, but an absolute SENSATION on the palate. From delicate, to hearty to spicy and lively (respectfully), each dinner was nearly world-class. We were celebrating a birthday this evening, but somehow the message from our personal concierge to the restaurant didn't link up. As such, we're not sure who was at fault, and this is likely the only reason for us not having the perfect meal (and 5 stars). As it relates to service, price, quality and value - I'd have to give this a 4.5 all the way around. We look forward to returning and certainly congratule the owners and staff on a job well done.

Ate a crab linguini dish here and nearly every bite had crab shells in it. As I tired of spitting out portions of every bite, I advised our server of the problem. He looked at me baffled as if shells are a part of the dish and didn't understand my complaint, as demonstrated by asking whether I wanted to wrap it up to go. I definitely told him no. Then the maitre d had the audacity to tell me that he and the chef went through the dish and there were no shells, as if trying to convince me that hard crab shells should be overlooked and considered soft crab meat. Needless to say, I will not be returning here nor should you as you may also be given an education as to the virtues of eating exoskeleton.

I specifically wanted to go to a place that made their own pasta and that's what the website for this place said. We get there, I ask the server about which pastas are homemade, I let him know that that is what I want..whichever homemade pasta is the best! He tells me about the best one and I say O.K. I get my food, and it is OBVIOUSLY not homemade and when I ask him about it he says, "Oh no, this dish is not homemade but I recommended it to you because its the best." That's it. No offer for something else, no apology..just tells me that it was miscommunication and walks away. I ended up returning this dish and ordered their homemade pasta appetizer. It wasn't that great. Forget this place. NEXT. Perhaps I was there when the food was on an off night but regardless, the service should have done something to brighten my experience and they didn't..hence this review.

Darn it. So bummed. First observation? The "Pazzo" sign does not match the themed interior decor. By the style of their signage, you would think the place would be much more whimsical. We had a party of 7, and rightfully so, a party of 6 or more will be issued automatic gratuity. Gladly! However...there went out service. Our waiter was rushed, rude, and unpleasant. Finally, I decided to splurge and order the prosciutto & peas with fettuccine pasta....let's just say it arrived as a bowl of soup. Disappointed. I'll definitely give it another try especially since I like to support 5th Avenue's local businesses, but hoping they can amp it up. Note to self Pazzo?

The food was excellent. The service was fine. What ruined a pleasant evening for us was the extremely rude, hostile and arrogant hostess with attitude, apparently due to the very limited seating available for a twosome on a very busy night. The saving grace was the manager who came to our table on his own and apologized.

Ate there on Tuesday. Some of the best Italian food I've had in years. Great service too. I agree the place needs to be updated but I really liked the place and highly recommend it.

We began our meal by witnessing a party trying to get their reserved table and being told they were 9 minutes late so their table was given away. 9 minutes? You need to wait longer for a tardy professor! We were on time and not only seated promptly up given the choice of inside or outside, when we had been told there was only outside available whe. We made the reservation. When the waiter first came over, it was obvious that their job was to get tables in, fed and out ASAP. We informed him we would not be rushed, and he backed off. Why I will not return: poor food at best. One of our party ordered simple pasta with marinara. It was so soaked that the pasta became mushy.. I ordered veal piccata, no pasta. Received three of the smallest pieces of veal ever served, overdone on a bed of broccoli rabe. The broccoli was very bitter, obviously not parboiled to remove that bitterness, and served with so much raw chopped garlic that it could have taken care of every vampire ever created. Too many good restaurants in the area to spend my money there again.

I had dinner with my husband and a girlfriend at Pazzo. We are local and just wanted to dine on 5th for fun. We had a very nice waiter that took good care of us and had enough incentive to explained that the shrimp app that we were ordering was only 2 shrimp for 3 people, we ordered it any way and it was good. The dinners we ordered were ok. The ingredients were good quality but the plates were average at best. But, we ordered the house Pinot noir, because someone gave it a good review. So, the waiter offered us a bottle. There are only 2 prices listed neither are the bottle price. They charged us 4 x glass price per bottle. With out pre explaining this. I have no prob affording this but, if the waiter can take the time to tell us that there are only 2 shrimp in an app, you would think that there would be a warning about the price of the wine. When we asked to speak to the mgr he said we were guests and privileged to be there and he would not be making any adjustments to our bill for our misunderstanding. I don't mind to pay for anything that I know that I have bought but this was deceptive. It should have been explained before we committed to that bottle. After the fact the manager's attitude, like I should be happy that he allowed me to eat mediocre food and pay too much for wine, turned me off forever. Good thing we have tourists that visit Naples, that don't know better. Or this place would go out of business. Locals beware! Not good! Over priced! No local, return business appreciation.

Good resturant, reasonably priced (considering its on 5th ave), nice patio. Our server Fred was amazing. Food was a little salty so i would ask them to use less salt next time. Definitely worth a visit.

The word "Pazzo" just sounds so colorful and exciting. Though it could stand for "pick a zesty zebra one-day" (as quoted by one our good friends), it actually means crazy and insane in Italian. I was craving for Italian food this weekend. Pazzo was actually a last minute decision and it came highly recommended as it is located at a great spot on 5th Ave in Naples. Most places in Naples were overly booked on Saturday night for some reason, and the same stood true with Pazzo. When no one else would let us make a reservation last night, Pazzo did as they had one opening come up unexpectedly, and she inked our names onto it for our party of 6. The service at Pazzo is great, and I am not just saying that because she let us make a reservation. They are very attentive and accommodating. The place was jam packed when we arrived and we were the last ones to leave. They do have a large wine selection. Their dinner menu is to the point and has little bit of everything with an Italian flair. Their menu claims they are an authentic Italian restaurant, but in my opinion they are more of a fusion American - Italian restaurant. Most of the dishes we tried had an American touch to them. Their Bruschetta has either goat cheese or mozzarella on them, but nevertheless tastes very good. I ordered their Tortellini dish because I am a huge sucker for homemade meatballs, but they were really small and not very moist and the marinara sauce was just average. Of all the items we all ordered at the table, I liked their Chicken Vodka Penne the best. It was simple, flavorful, and tasty. The second best option was Chicken Aqua Limon which is basically lemon pepper chicken served on a bed of mashed potatoes and is served with a beautiful presentation. Their porterhouse pork was huge and the meat was very tender and moist as well. We didn't have a chance to try any dessert here as the portions for their dinner entrees are large. But overall we had a great time as the atmosphere was awesome, the service was great, and the food was good as well.

Tasty Italian cuisine on bustling 5th ave. in Naples. Good service and tasty food. It's nice to sit outside even if it is on the busy street - at least you can watch all the people going by. Be sure to make a reservation -especially important in season.

Terrible service, from the woman I spoke to when reconfirming our reservation, the hostesses, and the server-they were all unpleasant and treated us like they couldn't care less that we were there and we chose this restaurant to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. Food wise-the bruschetta was bland and nothing to write home about, the mussels were hit and miss. The broth had great flavor, but some of the mussels tasted awful and others were good. Our entree was the tortellini, which was ok, but very small portion for almost $30. Would never recommend and was so disappointing.

I noticed that my unfavorable review was removed from YELP, so I am reposting because I feel that strongly about the unprofessional treatment my party received!

The food is pretty good, but Pazzo! is overhyped and overpriced.

Outstanding! I was searching for gluten-free dining and this place fit the bill deliciously! My sons and I came here after an evening swimming and playing at the beach and the outdoor dining was perfect. Refined but not "stuffy". After having a late lunch elsewhere, we weren't starving so my boys and I shared most of our food and our outstanding waiter didn't blink an eye. His service was impeccable, keeping our water glasses full and checking on us periodically, friendly without being obtrusive. The mussels appetizer was fresh, beautiful, and delicious with just the right amount of "spice". My GF pasta was excellent... Even my non-GF sons enjoyed a few bites! Reasonable prices, outstanding service and ambiance... We couldn't have asked for a better dining experience that night!

After reading reviews my husband and I thought this would be the best place to enjoy a Sat night being in Naples for the first time. This place was actually fabulous from beginning to end! The waiter was awesome and realized that we were so thirsty so he kept the water coming. I enjoyed the grouper special and it was so good. My husband had the Alfredo and it was one of the best sauces he's had. The portions were great for the price! Would definitely recommend this place and would come again if ever in the area!

Pazzo is my favorite restaurant, and some of the bests Italian food I've ever tasted. The food is great, the servers are so nice and attentive, I make sure to visit Pazzo every time I'm in Naples. The only problem is the reservations, it's often too full or doesn't have appropriate timing. But over all, the food is great and the service is excellent.

Writing this review as I am sitting at a sidewalk table. Calamari is outstanding with hot cherry peppers in the mix. Three dip sauces with marinara. My husband had veal piccata, it was delicious I had grouper over pasta in white wine sauce. It was well prepared and light, I loved it. Super service. Heater is on outside. Very pleasing ambiance. Bottle of wine included with dinner specials 39.00 per two entree. Waiter is former New Yorker, even better. Great for the price along fifth ave in Naples.

Great authenitic italian food and a very note worthy wine list. Their food is outstanding. Everyone at our table ordered different entrées, and we all were very pleased with our dish. I don't think you can go wrong here ordering anything on the menu, well other than veal because I don't believe anyone should eat a baby calf that has been stuck in a damn tight crate just so someone can eat tender meat--bullshit! So, skip their veal dishes just because it is more humane and opt for something else. There is plenty to choose from.

What amazing food! This restaurant is tops with my husband & I! After several unsuccessful attempts when ordering shrimp scampi at other restaurants, I thought I would give it one more try. I'm so glad I did!! It was absolutely the best! My husband ordered the chicken dish & was very pleased as well. Looking forward to visiting again

My wife and I eat here a few nights ago. This is by far our new favorite Italian restaurant in Naples. We used to their online table one reservations software to easily make a reservation for the restaurant. We were seated immediately upon entering the restaurant at a nice table the staff was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. The bread and sun-dried tomato pesto and oil was amazing. My wife got the video and beef meatballs with spaghetti I ordered the linguine E crabe.(King and Bluecrab in a spicy jalapeno marinara sauce) our food came out in a timely fashion and both dishes were on believably delicious. For dessert we had the Vincenzo (a chocolate melting cake with espresso flavored ice cream drizzled in a vanilla raspberry sauce). Also out of this world good. We can't wait to come back bring others and enjoy pazzo again!

We have made a tradition of going to Naples every summer. We always pick one night to have a great meal. This was the second year in a row we picked Pazzo. 1. Their service is fantastic. They had a large table ready to go, and the staff is very polite and accommodating. 2. Every dish served was cooked to perfection. Great portions. Service and food. They should write a book that other restaurant owners should follow. A+ service.

My husband and I met our friends here for the first time. Nice location down town by shops and other activity which is a lot of fun. Restaurant was laid out like a cafeteria with tables close to each other and not romantic. It is not the layout that inspires mood and relaxation and felt somewhat hectic for a non busy off season night. We had reservations. Confusing part is they stated no reservations were available for the time we wanted. When we arrived half the restaurant was empty and we arrived at the time we originally wanted our reservations to wait at the bar, so that was weird. We then were not able to participate in the dinner special as a result. We were at the bar for a round of drinks while waiting to be seated. My husband had to check with the greeter about being seated as it was past our reservation time and no one communicated with us, and there were several open tables to accommodate our party. One of us had pork chops that were served raw and had to be returned so he waited while we all had our food. Another entree, the veal marsala was served over a bed of very overcooked pasta. The marsala sauce was not terribly notable. Another pasts entree with angle hair pasta in olive oil was also overcooked and would have had more flavor al dente. We had two desserts which were very well prepared and enjoyable. The service at our table was acceptable and over all was good. We would consider this to be a poor value for the money and are unlikely to return.

Delicious GROUPER PICCATA and seafood-medley pasta (cannot remember the name). The sauces were rich, complex and well-seasoned. 5-star pasta, too. Do not bother with the $2.50 "small bites" appetizers. They aren't great. Excellent entrees and service, though!

Food: Five Stars! I wish that I could give it more. Wow! The grouper piccata was one of the best things that have ever crossed my lips...Incredible! It was served with a side of linguini and some veggies. It was all incredible. Six out of seven of us in our party ordered it, and we all our still raving about it. The last person in our party ordered a roasted chicken. Two others had a bite of the chicken and all declared it perfectly cooked and seasoned. The appetizers and salads were all delicious too. We went out to lunch and dinner every night during our week-long Florida trip. I think the food here was the best of the best! Service: Three Stars. Our waiter was disliked by 7/7 in our party, mostly because of his pompous personality. We believe that he had a bad case of "short-man's syndrome". Nonetheless, he recommended a decent bottle of Italian wine, made no mistakes delivering our food, and ensured that our water glasses were filled. We just didn't care for his personality. Despite mot liking our waiter, I would have still given this experience five stars because the food was truly amazing; however, while we were eating, we noticed that the restaurant had someone cleaning a dirty A/C vent with a mop directly over someone else's table! Maybe the folks near there complained and asked it to be cleaned at that moment, but it seemed like very poor timing to us. Couldn't they have done that when the restaurant was closed?

Part of the same ownership as our other favorite place next door, Chops. Very well run kitchen, waitress was very good and friendly. They're going for an authentic Italian menu and style and pretty much succeed. Bruschetta was tasty and stayed together nicely, sea bass was excellent, and it's a confident chef that serves a spicy red sauce with tuna. Well done with just enough heat. Get the lasagnetta dessert. Different and delicious. Decor is very nice. We were seated 15 minutes late and the bar area was a little cramped. They were very busy so will give the benefit of the doubt.

This place has slipped. I used to come here fairly often in the late 90's early 2000's and it was super good. I went last night and I was way disappointed. The pasta was not good. It had the texture and consistency of pasta that has been left in the strainer in the sink for 15 minutes and then served. Also, way too much butter sauce on the grouper. Shrimp scampi had way too much garlic; and I like garlic. Over-seasoning and over-buttering does not "haute gastronomie" make.

Calamari was very good, the cherry peppers really make the dish. The Caesar salad and Caprese salad for properly prepared. Once again the pork chop was great and Maccheroni "Polpettine" bowl was finished clean. This time we had two little girls with us and our server Calley did a great job of taking care of the girls.

great place and good food. Had outside seating. Very cozy. Food was great!!! Being vegetarian, still had tons of options and chef was accommodating. the super spicy pepper pizza was perfect. And the potato-garlic side dish was to die for. Worth visiting on trip to Naples.

Nice atmosphere, good service and I was say the food is good, though I personally had the Grouper and it was excellent. Like other reviewers, a few dishes my family had were just ok yet mine was fantastic.

nice atmosphere. waiter had a difficult time with food allergies, referred me to the sides menu. also frustrated with the request. I asked for no oil and no garlic. my meal arrived saturated with oil and loaded with garlic. I told my waiter it was not as I asked for he said he told them and took my plate. my husband had a good meal.

Service could have been better, Pazzo is trying to imitate Bistro 821 down the street with their $30 early dinner deal. The food was only fair and the charges for the other items were much too high. Will probably not return.

A very nice dining experience for a special occasion (my wife's birthday). The restaurant interior is beautiful; very comfortable. The tables were all full, as was the bar. Nice tables outdoors, with excellent service. A popular place, although pricey. I had the sea bass with shrimps and mussels, and it was delicious. My wife had the veal tortelloni, which was likewise excellent. We shared a BLT lettuce wedge salad which wasn't that impressive, kind of skimpy on the bacon and tomatoes. When I ordered a second bottle of beer I was surprised they didn't bring me a fresh glass, which would have been appropriate in a pricey, upscale place. All in all it was a very nice dinner for a special occasion, delicious food and attentive service.

We've eaten at Pazzo's a couple of times per season since the restaurant opened about 10 yrs ago and still find it one of our favorite places in Naples. While not always great, our meals have been constently good.

Wow! Just finished first ever visit. The food and the service were both amazing. Highly recommend ravioli do casa (with butternut squash), spaghetti pisanne (mussels and shrimp). Don't miss the desserts- they were incredible. Especially try the affogato (ice cream with espresso drizzle) and tiramasu and the Vincenzo (chocolate cake). Don't miss this place. It was memorable to our family of Bostonians.

Another mixed review in Naples. My wife and I had dinner at Pazzo on December 19, 2011. I had the tortoloni (sausage, meatballs, and stuffed pasta) which was excellent. Probably one of the best dishes I've had at an Italian restaurant in several years. My wife had the chicken parm which is normally a safe bet at any Italian restaurant. She said it was one of the worst she'd ever had. Service was also hit and miss. The waitress was attentive, but never asked if we wanted anything other than water.

Great food but the meter is running! The food is outstanding, the service is great, and dining al fresco in February is a treat for a Mid Westerner. We started with appetizers, wines, dinners, desserts, and finished with coffee/after dinner drinks. But during the coffee/after dinner drinks we were requesrted to take them "to go" because we had been at the table 2 hours (actually 1 hour 50 minutes) and they wanted to turn it. Not exactly what I'd expect for a 3 digit plus per person night out in a classy place. Watch the meter, it's running!

I live in Naples and have gone to Pazzo many times. My last meal was good but not the best I've had there or in Naples. My wife and I had a good meal but we thought the food was not as good as we normally have gotten at Pazzo. The Veal dish was not as tasty as normal and seemed a bit cold. My wife's Chicken Parm. was very good although the pasta was a bit over cooked. The Calamari appetizer we had was very good and we would recommend. The service was ok, our waitress was not available too often and seemed to not spend too much time worrying about our experience. Overall we will spend more time in other Naples Italian restaurants but we hope there's improvement at Pazzo in the future.

Took friends here who had never been & they were amazed at the food, drinks & fabulous service we got from Taylor! They loved it so much they want to go back again tomorrow night & get the other entrees Taylor recommended. It is the best meal in Naples!

I ordered the seafood pasta. I get this all the time at other Italian restaurants and usually regret this decision. This could be the best I have ever had. The mussels were extremely fresh (almost never the case), the shrimp was excellent, as well as the clams. I asked for a red sauce that was delicious. The pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked. I would eat here all the time if I lived nearby.

one of my favorite restaurants in naples. very good food that is nicely prepared, even the veal (sorry rachel, but since the calves have already been in the boxes i will help put an end to their misery). the wine list also offers many nice selections for any of the meals served. from appetizer to desert, the menu and service are consistently good. a must if visiting or living in naples.

We happened on this place because there was no wait and we had a large party including two babies. The food and service were incredible! Everyone left pleasantly surprised. Being married to an Italian means he's very critical of Italian food...this place passed with rave reviews!! Our waiter, Armando, was very friendly, accommodating and helpful.

If anything the food has gotten better may be because of additional restaurant cropping up near by. We went with an out of state couple one of which was a professional chef and he loved everything in fact I think he was trying to memorize the menu. Well done Pazzo, portions are still a nice size, food excellently prepared and prices what you would expect on 5th.

Pretty tasty place right on 5th Ave. I have eaten here dozens of times and the food is always pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. During the season, it can get very crowded so a reservation is a must. I particularly like their pastas and anything with their heirloom tomatoes, which are amazingly good.

"Pazzo" supposedly means "crazy" in Italian. Well, I am "crazy" about this place. It is unquestionably my favorite Italian restaurant in town, and one of my favorite restaurants overall. There is nothing on the menu that I wouldn't try and I absolutely have a difficult time deciding what to order, as there are so many creative options. Everything is a la carte, and your dinner bill can add up if you order a salad ($7 to $12), a side dish ($4 to $6), etc. The butternut squash ravioli is simply outstanding and is available as an appetizer for $11. Pastas are $16 to $24 and other dishes range from $18 to the $38 osso bucco. Even the traditional Italian specialties are described with adjectives that compel me to want to order one of everything. Example: Chicken Vodka Penne - Grilled chicken tossed with penne pasta, crispy prosciutto and green beans in a delicate vodka kissed tomato sauce finished with cream and fresh basil pesto ($19). They use fresh, quality ingredients, and the results are superb. A good wine list and a full bar is available. The setting is facing Fifth Avenue South, the main street of Naples, with a handful of sidewalk tables and a pleasant interior with rich colors and a wall of glass that opens up to the action outside. There is no better place for an interesting Italian meal in downtown Naples.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
