We decided to check-out only Indian restaurant in the Bonita/Naples/Marco area. It was a decent size restaurant and the decor was nice. The service was friendly and attentive. We tried the butter chicken, chana sag, chicken tikka masala and of course added garlic naan, mango chutney. Overall, the food was tasty. You can get mild, medium or spicy levels of heat depending on your preference. We tried the mild and it was very mild. I'm used to larger entree portions for the prices. Would I go back again - yes.

The restaurant itself is very nice and the staff was very friendly. It took us almost an hour to get our food, it was Saturday night and very busy, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. I found the quality of the food not very good, the vegetables were frozen and the sag paneer, had the paneer on top, not mixed in to the dish and tasted a little sour. The nan was good as well as the papadams. We ordered ras malai for desert and I was really disappointed. My friend liked it because she had never had it before. It came out hot, as if they just put it in the microwave. Ras malai is a delicate dish, with cheese balls soaked in cream and always cold, that's what makes it so good. This was not fresh and I couldn't finish it, not worth the $5.00. The food was quite pricey for the lack of quality.

Tandoori chicken is my favorite (I can eat it without feeling guilty!). I only wish they would use fresh vegetables instead of frozen. Good service and price point.

One of my favorite places to go. My best friend and I have dinner here at least once a month, I've tried several different dishes and everything is delicious. The service leaves a bit to be desired at times, but the food is wonderful.

Living in Naples is great except for the choices of Indian food. Passage to India (should read Bangladesh) is over priced, for less than average food. Unfortunately the closest Indian restaurant is in Fort Myers. It is way better in every way. Tonight I had a takeout that was boxed in a way that the curry was over the top of the box. It landed on my driveway upside down on exiting my car, my fault. I called and spoke with a gentleman and very politely explained they should show more care. He told me to get lost. I have spent well over to $2000 there in the last couple of years. Someone please open up an Indian restaurant in Naples!!!!

We really wanted to like this place. Our experience with Indian is limited to the finer indian restaurants of NYC and Philadelphia. Indian food is full palette food but it seemed most items lacked salt and balance of sweet and spicy. The apps were average, veg simosa was not fresh and tasted bland and frozen. The onion bhaji was good but again lacking the flavors that I expected. The veg biryani was bland and tasted as if frozen vegatables were used. The masala was again lacking flavor and tasted more like flat tomato paste than the full pallete masala with light red color and balance of spice, salt and sweet along w/ the appropriate amount of redcued yogurt that dish is all about. We found ourselves reaching for the salt shaker which we never do. The service was good and the dark atomoshere is cozy. Will we be back? Probobly not.

I don't understand some of the negative reviews....but this is one of the BEST Indian restaurant I've ever tasted. Always a good meal, cozy inside, and nice & knowledgeable staff. We've been eating there for years. Love everything. Plus they just did a little remodeling and it's even more splendid! Don't miss this place. Can get busy on the weekends especially during season so make reservations, smart idea. I can't say enough about this place. Delish!!!!!

The food is not fresh here. Perhaps in season when they have more customers the food is fresh, but my meal tasted like it was re frozen several times. Overpriced for thawed leftovers.

We made a huge mistake. You tell me, why would a big family of Indian people (with their grandma in tow) decide to take a chance on an Indian restaurant in Bontia Springs, FL? Because we are all crazy, you see. That and my grandma only eats Indian food. Good grief! I really wanted to like this place, but given the options and the reviews of other restaurants - this was the best of the worst. We were seated quickly and ordered the two mixed appetizer plates for our tables in order to stave off a hangry fit from my niece. The chicken and vegetable pakora, should have just been called chicken and vegetable tempura. There was no seasoning at all. It was just pieces of vegetable and chicken (concernedly indistinguishable from one another) fried and put on a plate. We hoped that our entrees would be better... we were wrong. The food lacked serious seasoning. And I am not someone who just munches on chili peppers for fun (like my sister-in-law) but I do appreciate some taste in my food. Especially Indian food! The butter chicken was an embarrassment and should be removed from the menu until they figure out how to fix it. The shrimp biriyani was spicy, but bizarrely bland (no salt) and the palak paneer was also mediocre at best. And, the most annoying thing of all was that the pricing for the food was absurd. $14 for a mushroom vegetable dish?! Are you kidding me?! $5 for naan?! It is absurd pricing for below average food. Overall, the only redeeming quality was the service. Which was fast and friendly throughout the meal and our MANY requirements for my grandmother. It is really unfortunate that this is the best option available for Indian food in the area. And to be honest, I don't think I am being too harsh. My American husband also agreed that this food left a lot to be desired and could do with some serious upgrading (like their decor). Overall, if you must, AND I MEAN MUST, eat some Indian food then yes, I suppose you can go here? But, why not save some money and get to a Trader Joes grab some frozen Indian meals and eat those instead? At least those will taste good.

The other night we had a taste for Indian food and decided to try "Passage to India" and it was a very good choice. The place was quite crowded but the owner/hostess was still able to find us a nice table but cautioned our dishes might take a little longer. The solicitous waitress took our orders and appeared shortly with our onion nan and three different spreads. This appetizer plus our drinks kept us busy until the arrival of our dishes, which were slightly delayed....but we had been warned. My "King Prawns Tikka Masala" were excellent: large and succulent in a mouth watering sauce!! The others at our table also enjoyed their "Chicken Tikka Masala" and "Butter Chicken and We, obviously, all had a fine time at "Passage To India".

Don't listen to the negative reviews. Passage is not only the best Indian restaurant in SW Florida, but among the BEST restaurants in SW Fla. Every dish is made fresh (which is why it may take some time). Take it from this lover of Indian food who has eaten at Indian restaurants all over the US and India, Passage is one of the best you'll find. The samosas, tikka masala, vindaloo, biriyani and korma dishes are all terrific. As a Fort Myers resident, I can never any place further south because every time we plan to eat on Naples 5th Ave , our plans always seem to change as we approach Passage to India.

Best and only Indian restaurant in the Naples area. Naan is fresh and fluffy. Waitress abs hostesses are pleasant. Saag paneer is fresh and extremely tasty. That is my favorite. Chicken tikka masala is excellent. It is pricy, but spices are not cheap and it is well worth it. A great Indian restaurant.

Good food but the portions are getting smaller and smaller each time and pricier and pricier. I've been several times and the food is consistent. But now it's ridiculous. I leave hungry.

We were looking for Indian Southwest Florida and went to Passage to India Service - Poor Food - Bad Attitude - Terrible We have had Bangladeshi food before but this was just bad. We ordered Matter Paneer - they served peas with paneer garnished on the top. I asked the server why is it like she lied that it is cooked in the dish as well. Chana Saag had large chunks of vegetables with Chickpeas not properly cooked. My wife fell ill after having the food!

We have been there twice; the food has always been good to very good. The service is fine. The decor is frankly so-so, and certainly not as pleasant as in their old or previous restaurant. All in all it is certainly a satisfactory Indian restaurant, despite the poor decor.

The best and the only one good restaurant in this area. Service is great, food is even better. Every bite has a delicious flavor. I am just addictive to this food.

  • Katie O.

My friend and I were both charged twice for our meals and the manager wouldn't take responsibility nor would be apologize. The server was also rude. Big disappointment because the food is delicious.

  • Richard K.

I had lamb korma. I ordered it as spicy as a native would eat it. The explosion of flavors blew me away as did the nuclear heat. The naan was delish and sopping up every last bit of saucy goodness was less embarrassing than publicly licking my bowl and plate clean. Portions are sadly too small and it's pricy. Service was fine, if only they would increase portion sizes I would be a regular.

  • Brandi R.

So delicious! I have tried many dishes here and the flavors are always spot on, as well as the spice level ordered. My favs are Dahl soup, Chicken Curry, and garlic naan. My husband loves very spicy food, so he always orders Lamb Vindaloo, and it comes out delish every time.

Not even worth a 1 star. Went for a nice date night and ordered usually amazing dishes, well one dish was great, the other was a chicken madras. Numerous pieces of the chicken was so rubbery we weren't even able to chew it, it was so awful. So we re-ordered a new dish, they came back minutes later saying they were out of the shrimp and scallops. So once again had to order another dish which was the sea bass. We received the new dish, now sea bass is typically sweet, tender and flakey to where you can cut through it with a fork. This sea bass was horrifically tough to cut through. Lamb korma was great, (3rd) dish ( sea bass madras) was just a disappointment. Chefs fault I'm sure.. Okay to cut it short. We got our bill and they charged us for the 23$ sea bass. So of course since it was their fault for the disgusting chicken dish and being as they were out of seafood on a Tuesday night, we, as any person going out to dinner, would feel as if they should at least charge for the original dish of 18$, well no, our bill read 23$ for sea bass and so on. We call over the (owner) Angela and was she ever one of the most awfully rude person we have ever dealt with. She had the nerve to tell us we were the only complaint of the night & blatantly telling us, the customers we were wrong! She also was so abruptly crude after we nicely explained how we felt it was fair to charge for the original plate, that she didn't care what we thought, she just wanted her money. WELL WE WERE REPEAT CUSTOMERS, NEVER AGAIN WILL WE GO TO A BUSINESS WITH A TERRIBLE BUSINESS ETHIC AS SUCH, AND WITH A CHEF LIKE THAT THEY WILL NOT STAY IN BUSINESS LONG. STAY FAR AWAY!

We were visiting the Naples beach area on vacation and searching for something that felt more "local"... We drove all the way out here from our hotel in a torrential downpour because we wanted authentic food... and were tired of chain restaurants. So worth the drive. We arrived right when it opened for an early dinner... and stuffed our faces. The garlic naan was delicious - and we ordered a dessert that I had never had before... basically fried dough-type balls in a syrupy type substance. Loved it. Service was also great. Would recommend to anyone.

Really delicious! we ordered lamb samosas and aloo naan to start. Apps were delivered promptly, and the server sensed we were ready to order without waiting. The lamb rogan josh and sag panir were both excellent. The sag in particular was great- fresh whole spinach leaves and fresh cheese can't be imitated. We ordered medium spicy which was perfect for those who like a kick without igniting their mouths on fire. It was totally worth the drive from Fort Myers as a birthday treat!

Due to my unflattering review I received a message telling me I was wrong...That I had an off day..that I should not be nasty to a family owned restaurant Just to be clear...we are experts in Indian cuisine as my husband cooks Indian and we have graced many restaurants worldwide! I still had food poisoning ( which I had never had before! ) this is my opinion and I stand by my reviews!

We love Indian food. As far as we can tell, there are only two Indian restaurants in the Cape Coral-to-Naples corridor, and this is one of them. The other is much closer to where we live, but it was a Monday... so I ordered carry out and drove down to Passage to India. The young woman who gave me my order was perfectly nice. We had Chicken Du Piaza (standing in for Jalfrezi), Lamb Korma, and Saag Paneer. All three dishes came with their own separate dishes of rice: basmati with a few grains of turmeric-orange rice mixed in. The chicken was medium-spicy and pleased the person who ordered it. The lamb korma, mild, had perhaps six large-ish chunks of lamb, and the person who ordered it left most of it uneaten -- so my guess is, it wasn't irresistibly delicious, although he did not complain about it, either. The saag paneer was unusual in that there were about five small chunks of cheese included and they were on top of the saag and absolutely bright white -- as in, they were dropped on top of the saag after it was placed in the to-go container, rather than mixed into and cooked with the dish. I've never seen it done that way, and I order palakh paneer or saag paneer a LOT. It meant that the cheese was not very flavorful, as you can imagine, and there was also not much of it -- I wound up with a lot of spinach left after the cheese was all gone, even when trying to "conserve" cheese. The taste and texture of the spinach was good (not amazing but A-OK). It amazes me that there are not more Indian restaurants in this area -- there are some great ones up in Sarasota, where some of our relatives live. I'd think the Fort Myers-Naples area would be just as attractive to Indian restauranteurs. There's certainly a lot of room for competition, and a lot of local enthusiasm for the cuisine: we were willing to make a 40-minute R/T for the privilege of eating Indian food on a Monday! The restaurant itself was quite busy at 7 pm on Monday, and people seemed to be happy with their meals.

First time. I love Indian cuisine and have had a lot if it in other states for comparison. The quality and quantity were both fabulous. Serving size is typical from my previous experiences with Indian restaurants. Very complex flavors and nice heat at medium spicy. All dishes were prepared extremely well. We had samosa's, vegetable curry, dahl, naan that they prepared for me without butter, and the complimentary side of jasmine rice. I loved each dish equally! I would order them all again. We had attentive and courteous service. The atmosphere was nicely appointed with Indian music playing softly in the background. It was a slower night in that it is not in season yet and only two other tables were filled. I will most definitely return and bring others!! highly recommend.

First time trying Indian food and will definitely return. Person I went with did the ordering, and I have little idea of the dishes we ate except the Nan, but I enjoyed both a lot, as well as the desserts. I wouldn't know if it's authentic Indian cuisine or not, and really don't care - it was good flavorful spicy and I liked it.

Enjoyed the old location and management. Don't know how the food is now. Service was so bad and management so nasty (not unpleasant, NASTY), that we won't be back.

I wish I could tell everyone how good the food tasted - but after a 1 1/2 hour wait for food after seating - and the waitress unable to tell us when it was coming - we left - and never again will return!

Literally our favorite place to go eat Indian food in Naples! The ambiance is romantic yet fun. Whenever my lover and I want a spicy and flavorful dish, Passage to India does the trick.

Always fresh and tasty. I have been coming here for almost 13 years and it is consistently good. This is a family run restaurant and the father and son do most of the cooking. My fav dish is lamb tikka masala. Everything is good so venture out and if you want it hot, be very clear how hot you want it. Service is good and recently they have hired some very attentive wait staff. Prices are about the same as any Indian restaurant and all is cooked to order.

Apparently Passage To India of Bonita moved to this location six weeks ago. The room is not pretty, but servicable. The lighting is too dim to even read the menu. That might also be a function of the microscopic print on the menu. Upon entry, we were greeted by two school-aged children. OK I thought....small family restaurant. This could be a really good lunch! Not so fast, Mujibar! I had the Chicken Tikka Masala. and Mom had the Lamb Biryani. Each came with a small cup of soup and naan. The soup was a plain vegetable soup, lightly spiced, and with nice flavor. The naan was just plain blah. The meals were plated nicely. The portions were on the smallish side. I could barely see a few chunks of lamb in the big mound of rice. Service was quite cordial. Considering that the meals with two waters cost $30.00 including tip, I can't imagine finding my way back any time soon.

  • Kannan M.

The food was quite good, the ambience is good. The prices are on the high side, I thought the quantity should be more for that price but I would recommend it to those who like good Indian food in Naples.

Okay guys, I finally had the chance to order from Passage to India and take it home to try. My chicken vindaloo ($16.99) was painfully delicious and at the usual spiciness of eternal hellfire. My date enjoyed the lamb dhansak ($17.99 *gasp*) which had a few morsels of stewed lamb meat in a wonderful sauce with lentils. The nan for $2.50 was fluffy and tasted great. Service was very personable and my only complaint is the PRICE. I will not becoming a regular any time soon for what the cost is! If only there was a small Indian food take-out place like they have up in NYC I would be in heaven! Overall, I may be back to quell my Indian food cravings. Not sure though. I am still searching in vain for a decent Indian food joint in SW Florida... Update: A word to the wise: I recently returned for a second round and found out the hard way that they are no longer open for lunch. They are now open 5pm-10pm. I ordered one order of chicken dhansak (hot), 3 orders if naan and 1 aloo naan and dropped $29.00. No lie. Thats a lot of $cratch for a one person lunch!

The food was quite good, once it was served, but we had to wait a while. It was a busy Friday night and all the staff (including some young kids it seemed) were running around in an unorganized fashion. There was a moment where we considered getting up up leaving- and I am a considerably patient person. Service was poor, scattered, and unfriendly.

Kinda pricy but food and atmosphere is good

The finest Indian experience you'll experience in SW Florida. It's consistently very good and you are never surprised by lackluster offerings. I'm happy they decided to keep the Indian videos to a minimum.
