Frequent visitor of the restaurant! Speaks for itself :) Drinks Are great! Very good selection of unique margaritas, my personal favorite one is Diabolita, Mojito is great too. Food and Prices Food is good. My favorite appetizer is grilled calamari, served on black rice - veery tasty. Tacos are good too. Love their guacamole Chicken is good with interesting preparation. I'm a steak person so Hanger steak medium rare is my thing. Highly recommend. If they cooke it well - it's amazing. Filet is good as well, again, interesting preparation and sides. Staff Very cool staff! Great sense of humor, very friendly and professional. Atmosphere The interior is beautiful! You can come here for drinks or dinner - both areas, bar and dining room gave a great atmosphere. This place combines lounge and good dining experience. I prefer patio sitting which has also great touch, you don't feel like someone just put bunch of tables outside. Summary If you want to have a dinner and movie night or just hang out at the bar with friends - it's the best place in Mercato to my opinion.

I would consider this to be a higher end Mexican restaurant. If you're looking for typical grease cheesy goodness this isn't the spot. I had the cucumber margarita which was delicious and refreshing. Still had a tequila kick. They had a great selection in tequila and several good margarita options. Every table receives chips and two types of salsa. One was a mild and one was a medium Verde, both fantastic. For the appetizer we ordered guacamole. The dish came with fresh veggies which I loved! The portion was decent... I was with a fellow gauc lover so we would have needed to order another if there were more than two of us. For an entree I had the tinga tacos. The rice and black beans were by far the best I have ever had! An explosion of flavor. The tacos were also great with tender chicken pieces. I am very pleased with my dining experience. The service and ambiance were also on par with the food. If you're in the area... Make sure to stop in... Even if it's just for margaritas and chips and salsa!

Well I will start by saying I made a reservation for 5 arrived at 4:30 and was waited on promptly because the place was empty! We went for my sons 14th birthday and the staff new that and not even a Happy birthday was said? Oh well....As for the food it is by far the best that I have had in sw Florida to date. The service was very slow the whole dinner took 1 hour and 15 min and we had the early dinner menu that was pre fixed. Over all it was good a bit pricey $130 2 adults 1 teen and a 6 year old 3 drinks, and I really do not get that if you don't sit at the bar you can not partake in happy hour.....Why not?? I might be back Might not???

Absolutely love the food and drink selection is great! Good service and setup as well..A+

Pretty scene . Less than friendly hostess. Average food. Limited menu. Nice bar and variety of margaritas. It's truly too bad they let this hostess duo be the first people you encounter as walk through these beautiful doors - Must say we had a wonderful server, Courtney, who made up for the rude hostess . Also limited bathroom situation which is a hassle. So many restaurants in Naples, sadly there's no need to go back to Masa -

$$$$$ OVERPRICED Mexican Food $$$$$$ There's really nothing special about this place. Yes, it's in Mercato which is a hip new area that attracts younger crowds. Besides the white leather booths and orange couches, there's nothing hip about Masa. I'll give some pros and cons. Pros: younger crowd, good if your sick of hanging with old people. The chips they bring to your table are freshly fried and homemade. The Flan was coconut flavored and was better than most I've eaten before. Cons: overpriced, not as good as lower priced, less hip Mexican restaurants. Flavoring seemed off: Pork shoulder was very salty, and the taco trio platter had some sort of sauce that covered up the taste of the food. Overall: I won't go back, except for chips and Flan.

  • Brian G.

I would call the meal average. We had pork dishes and there was nothing special about either. The prices were high. Service was ok. Great atmosphere. Not high on my list to go back to.

We only went for happy hour, but it was great. The margaritas are super fresh and only $5!! And I set the bar high for margs. Our server was really nice and adjusted them to our preferences. The chips and salsa were also fresh and soooo good. We got an order of the churros, which came with chocolate sauce. Highly recommended. The staff was really friendly and personable. Also love the ambiance...very cool vibe!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Mercato! Love the decor on the outside and inside of the restaurant, especially the living plant walls. The veggie tacos are amazing as well as the Masa take on calamari. The diabloita habenero margarita is my favorite, but all that I have tried are definitely very good! Love to come here for happy hour as the tacos and margaritas are only $5!!

There's something missing at Masa. It's a beautiful space but the service flow was just off. Our server tried hard, but he was busy directing the other servers the entire time we were there. Front my seat in a booth near the bar, i observed him literally working in every area of the restaurant. We didn't encounter another person who seemed to care about what was going on. We ordered the guacamole, which was served with fresh vegetables and chips. A good appetizer that arrived quickly. For dinner, i ordered the hanger steak ($29) and my wife ordered the tamales ($17). Both were good, but not great. They also took over 20 minutes to be delivered. For the prices being charged, the service level has got to improve. I'll give our server credit. He did comp our guacamole, realizing that Masa had fallen short of our expectations, even before we left.

Place is beautiful thus one star. As a local this is the last place myself or any friends will go to. The "happy hour" is still more expensive than anywhere in town. The chewing gum bartenders have an attitude like none other.. Like they are doing a favor by serving you. The food is good .. But will never eat in that place again on account of the service : attitude and price gauging

Headline on this place: food is above average with some exceptions, service was exceptionally poor, ambience tries to be hip and trendy but is hampered by the fact that the place is only half full on a Saturday night, raising some obvious questions. Guacamole was ok but not prepared tableside and no one ever asked about spice level (usually we get jalapenos on the side), a smallish dollop of guac accompanied by a jumble of sliced veggies, IMHO these don't really go with guac, would rather have the chips! Must say that our mains were very good: camarones oaxaca nicely spicy, poc chuc (pork shoulder) also very flavorful. However, empty water glasses were neglected, even though the place was half empty, which is a key pissoff factor for this diner. Struggled with whether to give this 3 stars (as the food, especially main dishes, was 4-star quality) or 2 (for ambience and service). But as others have said, with so many restaurants in Naples, no reason to waste an evening here.

3 tacos without flavor for 17$, what a joke? there are better restaurants in Mercato!

First of all, let me say this second experience was no where the same caliber as my first time at Masa. I went for happy hour and wanted to sit outside since it was beautiful weather and it was my birthday. However, i was surprised to find out the happy hour was only a few items and you were required to sit at the indoor bar which was freezing with overdone AC and of course no where would my dog be welcome at the bar :( So we decided to sit outside on the patio. The service was sub-par and the hostess was very passive aggressive about our dog being there. The guacamole was underwhelming and not very fresh. The Masa margarita was tasty and the entrees were ok. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant for any animal lovers and the food is highly overpriced.

Superb upscale Mexican food. Beautiful presentation, lovely ambiance, helpful and friendly service. Tortilla soup was amazing; tamales fantastic. Guacamole perfection. The 2 For $12 lunch is a terrific deal and a virtual tasting menu for dinner.

I was in St Petersburg for business and drove down to Naples to check on my condo, I hadn't eaten anything except a slice of toast in the morning so by the time I was in Naples at 3:00pm I was starving. I stopped at Masa and they had happy hour tacos and a special ceviche. The food was dry and tasteless but a few hours later I got the most severe food poisoning you could imagine. Stay away. I'm going to call the health department to report it. I felt so terrible for 2 days.

  • Laura R.

Let me start by saying the food and cocktails were fantastic. The service on the other hand was sub par. It took about 10 minutes for the waitress to notice our cocktails were empty and offer refills. She also started out by advertising their "made to order" guacamole. My dining partner is not a fan of onions, and asked for an order of guac without. The waitress quickly retracted her previous statement and informed us the guac was already made. Hmm. At the end of the meal, a manager (we think, he was dressed more formal) asked if I would like my food boxed. More than 15 minutes later, after I had received and signed my check I still hadn't seen any signs of my to go box. Eventually I left, without my food. Great food, but disappointing service.

  • Becca O.

Food has definitely lost its' appeal. I went there after a long hiatus and was craving my favorite dish, calamari with black rice, only to find the calamari over cooked and what seemed to be scrapping of burnt squid on the messy pile of rice. The rest of our dishes ordered were the same; bland, over-cooked, and sloppy.

    (1)
  • Taryn G.

Our server was top notch, the margaritas were incredible, and the food was cooked to perfection. If you want to dine before 5pm, get reservations! It is completely worth it, though! I got the grilled shrimp dish and it was wonderful. Seasoned beautifully, tasted incredible, and it wasn't overcooked. Everything was perfect, and the staff is so wonderful they really are good at upselling you.

  • Brad W.

Good food, very good margaritas and very good service. A bit pricy but consider its location. Ask for the hot sauce as food, depending on what you order, can be dry. I will go back...

Everyday Lunch specials 2 for $12. Excellent chips, salsa, everything home made. Fresh, chic atmosphere. Although not in lunch menu, made me veggie taco wraps, gluten free. It was amazing, never know it was veggies. Mango salad was mango puree. Great tamales, soup, sandwiches. Happy hour with $5 appetizers Sofas, various settings indoor and out. Wish I could smoke a cigar in there. Great service, knowledgeable servers. Friendly, get Open table points, returning!

  • Nicole M.

Overpriced however it is Mercato where everything is overpriced. The guacamole did not taste fresh. It tasted like it came from a can. The server was overly up selling us to the point of annoyance. Our entrees however were done very well and their margaritas were uniquely crafted. It's definitely worth checking out to form your own opinion....just don't order the guac.

    (3)
  • Alexander S.

Masa's interior of the restaurant was very promising and it looked like a great place. They first brought loads of chips, salsa, and great guacamole. It took so long to order and get our food and the main courses were mediocre. I'd rather eat down the block at chipotle for more than half the price.

  • Mitch M.

My wife and I would come here frequently for their happy hour special. They ~used~ to have a really nice HH menu with a nice choice of gourmet tacos and other Mexican fare. They have since scaled the HH way back to the point of it not being worth the trip. We recently thought we would give it another shot and tried it for lunch. The food was bland. In general the ambience and bar is great but the food is not. Outside of HH the magaritas are $12 for a very small tumbler.

Love the decor in this Mercato gem-it is by far the best ambience in all of Mercato and one of the best in the greater Naples area. Service has always been polite and attentive and the food is always fresh, delicious and healthy!

  • Armand T.

Great Mexican food. Kid Friendly. Excellent wait staff. We are very critical of restaurant experiences, and recommend it without hesitation.

    (5)
  • Barri J.

Salsa and chips good. Tamales were delicious according to my two teens - we spent last spring break in Mexico so they know a good tamale. The fish taco had good-- fresh corn tortilla and beautiful pieces of fish. I didn't like the red cabbage slaw but I don't like red cabbage. I would have preferred a mango jalapeño salsa to add a bit of tang. Margaritas were well made. Service was great, even with two parties of ten in our section. We were never ignored. We will go back next year

We were so looking forward to dining at this restaurant....very pretty interior, beautiful patio and it was Valentines Day! Sadly the hostess(s) they have at the door robbed us of the opportunity. I have never encountered such rudeness from an individual in the service industry...EVER! Can't even rate the food or service because we refused to spend our money in a restaurant that would employee such a person. So many other options in this fabulous Mercato area, eat at any of the others, great food and people.

    (1)
  • Colby M.

Where to start? The food is sub-par and the price was ridiculous. Further, the service was just as bad with a smattering of rudeness. Not that I completely blame them. It's a bar/daycare for drunk adults crammed like sardines spilling their drinks and talking too loud in too close proximity to other patrons. Just say no.

    (1)
  • Ed R.

Nice atmosphere and great service. Our dinners were plentiful, well prepared and tasty. Menu options were ample. Margaritas were outstanding. Good place to eat in Mercato.

    (4)
  • Elsa M.

Great service, nice ambiance. .never had a bad meal here. My main issue is the temperature. I'm always uncomfortably warm to the point of annoyance when I come here. Restaurants in Florida should know the value of air conditioning for their patrons. ..especially in the summer.

    (3)
  • Bramel W.

Start to finish delicious and well executed. Friendly and knowledgable staff. Margaritas that are well thought out and dynamic flavors keep you craving another.

We don't stay out too late anymore, but we always make a stop at Mesa. We Love the food and drinks, but find they can be inconsistent. We have always sat at the bar. Service has even friendly and never lacking.

  • Kristen H.

Masa is one of my favorite places for lunch. Try the 2 for $12 menu. You can pick two separate lunch items into one plate. My favorite combo is the chicken tacos with tortilla soup. However the soup is spicy (not hot, spicy) and is not for everyone.

    (4)
  • lynn b.

Masa had a nasty odor Sitting at the bar it was awful. The bartender was not pleasant friendly or nice. My mojito was not good ( not good rum). When I asked him to take it off the bill He stuck a straw in the drink tasted it and thru it away in a very mean manner. Than got me my bill and walked away. Just a very poor customer service experience. And the free chips and salsa were not edible.

I had lunch here this week. Masa offers a lunch special- 2 for $12. I had the hearts of palm salad & pork tacos. The food is excellent! Upscale, contemporary Mexican. Everything was fresh & tasted homemade. Beautiful restaurant!

I Agree with Half of the Reviews on Here, Going to Masa is a waste of Time and Money, it was my 5th night here in Naples, FL with my Grandma Carol and my Great Aunt Suzy and we were curious about coming here, We were told it would be 45 Minutes for a Table so we Waited in the Lounge, One thing I hated was that Stupid Parrot who constantly squawked every 10-15 Seconds. When we sat to wait for a Table one of the Waiters thought we were ordering there (Which I thought was Unneccessary) Also she lied to us there were like 6 tables available and people were getting seated Before us. I guess she thought we weren't good enough for a table, also on our way out one of the Workers said Goodnight like we had a good time (so Rude, Disrespectful and just Plain Ignorant). I'm never coming to eat here and my advice to you is stay away from here, cuz you'll get the same treatment that I got.

  • Alex D.

The drinks are good, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. The menu has limited vegetarian options. The server Nikki suggested the vegetable enchiladas. The presentation was nice, but the filling was nothing more than raw julienne carrots and squash. The sauce was tasty, but the portion of sauce was small leaving the dish dry and bland. Served with only cilantro rice, I left hungry. For $22 (and a total bill for 4 over $230) I would have expected more. Our server Nikki was friendly and attentive and is the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars. Spend your money somewhere else. This place is expensive and not worth your time.

  • D S.

Three of us had dinner at Masa a week or so ago. We were seated in full view of a presentation on idiopathic feline cystitis. No joke. Someone at Masa thought it was a good idea to host a group of veterinarians at 7p on a Wednesday night AND allow them to conduct a presentation in the middle of the dining room. Their ringleader had the music turned down/off too. We asked to be reseated outside. The best time to dine at Masa is during happy hour. The drinks and various tacos are good, but why pay full price?! I'm being generous with a three-star rating. We'll stick to D'Amico's best restaurant, Campiello.

    (3)
  • Johnathan S.

Worst ceviche I ever had, this place is a joke and so is the overpriced terrible food. How is this place still in business? Pure was beautiful, masa is a significant downgrade to the space.

    (1)
  • John M.

I've kind of steered away from this place due to the lackluster reviews, but the lunch I had the other day was great. Our service was excellent, and the 2 items for $12 lunch special was a great option. I thought the portions would be tiny, but I received two giant tamales and a couple of tacos. Homemade chips and salsa were great. Tortilla soup was a little different then I'm used to, but it grew on me. I think my favorite dish was the fish tacos my wife ordered. Nice piece of very crispy fish on a fresh bed of red cabbage slaw. I'd definitely return and far as I can tell, they seem to have their act together.

    (4)
  • Pa G.

Had margaritas & chicken tacos. The tacos were very flavorful as was the margarita. The chips & salsa were also very good. The decor is very modern and nice. Great place to grab dinner before or after a movie across the street! I'll definitely be back.

Very nice location and atmosphere. The theme in the wall decorations were very attractive and appealing. The contemporary settings were interesting and refreshing. Unfortunately, the appeal stopped at the ambiance. The service was disrespectful and the food was mediocre. I gave this place one star: I ordered a margarita, a calamari appetizer, and the carne asada tacos. The margarita was fine in flavor but came out in a tumbler smaller than the plastic cups used at the pool bar of the hotel. The calamari was where I my review really dropped to one star. The appetizer, suggested by the server, described as a new twist on calamari. The dish came out with calamari topping black rice with a lime twist and salsa verde. It was an interesting combination. However, when the server inquired how I liked it I explained the calamari was not tender. The response I got was "sometimes it comes out that way" with no offer to correct or resolve the issue. Although he did say he would share the comment with the chef. Three things: 1) if it was not correct it should have never left the kitchen, 2) the appetizer was more of rice dish as it had very little calamari; rice was double the entrée portion size, and 3) the price on the appetizer was approximately 80% of the cost of the entrée. Being mostly rice and very little calamari I would have expected the calamari to top notch. The entrée came with three flank steak tacos, cup of rice, and a cup of black beans. The flank steak had a good flavor and the rice and beans were ok. The food served did not keep up with atmosphere or the pricing. I left with the impression that the owner spent more in overhead in the décor than the chef and staff. Very disappointed. It would have gone a long way had the serve had the authority or even tried to respond to my comments.

Masa is a great Mexican restaurant. As soon as you walk in you are transported to Mexico. They are beautiful painting, crosses, and other props. The service was good. The chips and guacamole were fantastic. The tacos were phenomenal and very flavorful. Masa is a great spot for lunch!

    (5)
  • John W.

Had dinner there for the first time. Definitely a cut above the typical Mexican restaurant in terms of food, decor, service.... and price. Entrees run from about $16-$30, with tacos/enchiladas/tamales at the low end, and the specialty dishes at the high end. Drinks start at about $6 for beer, and go up to about$10-12 for martinis, margaritas, etc. The decor is bright and airy. Parking can be hard to find at dinner time, but there is complimentary valet parking. We may return, but in Naples, there are so many places to try, I'm not sure this warrants a second look.

  • Elin K.

I was disappointed. The hostess was incredibly snotty when we mistakenly arrived too early for our reservation, and said no way we could be seated early, even though there were empty tables. Then I checked in 20 minutes later, and she told us we could still not be seated. So we went for a short walk, and 2 minutes later we got a text that our table was ready. We hightailed it back, and asked her what happened, and she just shrugged. Our food was fine, nothing special, and tepid -should have at least been piping hot. The waitress Courtney was wonderful, however. They really should think about how their front of the house impacts the experience.

    (2)
  • Joanie S.

We were so disappointed! After sitting in our reserved table for 15 minutes waiting anxiously for our drink order we were surprised and astonished that a table of 5 women who were seating after us were getting service first! - not willing to wait longer we simply walked across the street to enjoy a great meal and drinks! Big thumbs down on service! Not a good reflection on management training of their employees!

Had dinner Thursday April 24. Margaritas; ceviche of the day; grilled hanger steak with rice Mexicano, topped with fried tortilla strips and black chili oil; and a side of Mexican street corn; along with complimentary tortilla chips served with salsa verde & salsa chile de arbol. Enjoyed everything. Service was excellent. On a previous visit we had snapper Veracruz and Oaxoacan shrimp followed by a tres leche cake. That was a very good dinner, but not quite as flavorful as dinner tonight. Try the Mayan margarita with a hint of anise, fantastico!

I've been coming here since the place opened, and have enjoyed the beauty of the place and the much-needed injection of upscale Mexican into the Naples restaurant scene. The quality of the food, however, has declined. My advice? Capitalize on the location and ALWAYS offer a seafood special. Steer away from the perfunctory beans and rice and offer something light and fresh. There was not a single bite of fresh plant material on the shrimp entree I ordered. Be sure you have the menu items available at 6:30 on a Wednesday evening! Don't put scallops on the menu and then not have them available. The manager came to table to apologize and had the gall to say that "someone must have dropped the ball"--- at least own your mistakes! The servers here are always great-- sad to see them have to apologize for the sloppy management and overpriced dreck.

    (2)
  • Josie S.

Extremely poor service and marginal food. I will not be going back, nor will I recommend. The best thing about this place is the beautiful plants on the exterior. Disappointing.

Masa is a well designed restaurant and has a young hip atmosphere! Best tacos around and amazing & funky margaritas! One of the best spots in town!

    (5)
  • Alexandra G.

Margaritas are delightful! The staff could put more effort into being friendly and welcoming to the customers. The decor is really fun and has a miami feel. The queso is average. And most of the items on the menu are extremely spicy! I don't recommend this place to someone that doesn't tolerate spicy food. Their tacos are mediocre, the salsas they serve with chips are underwhelming. The desserts are good but real Mexican cuisine is packed full of flavor! Hopefully they will update the menu in the near future, to something that resembles authentic Mexican food.

    (3)
  • Pamela B.

Good margarita selection and food is pretty good. The chips and salsas on the table were yummy. I ordered the pork soft tacos and the others at the table got chicken and cheese enchiladas. Everyone enjoyed their meals. One big problem here is the service. Took way too long to get our food and drinks. And when my husband requested sour cream it never came. We came here on a Tuesday night and it was no where near crowded so not sure why such slow service. Overall a decent place but beware you may need to wait a bit for your food.

Went to dinner here with wife and friends. Jalapeño infused margaritas are recommended. Beef tacos were tasty! Will be back.

  • Alexandria Q.

The fish tacos are to die for! Although the margaritas are pricey, they are worth it! I had one with a spice to it and it was delicious. Our server was excellent and very attentive. don't forget to check out all of the funky decor! I will definitely come back next time I am in Naples.

Love everything about Masa... Barbacoa sandwich is SOOOO good. Love the design, the location is great, and the staff are always helpful. Anytime I need something and my waiters not around I've never had a problem being accommodated.... Try the hearts of Palm salad!!

    (5)
  • gabriella s.

A must try at Mercato! Lunch specials are amazing and at 2 choices for $12, we think a great deal for delicious, fresh and creative dishes! The mango and jimica salad with mango habanero dressing was fabulous as well as the hearts of Palm and avocado salad with a feta based vinaigrette! The veggie tacos were topped with a soft Mexican cheese that was quite tasty! My husband loves the shredded pork tamales and carnitas sandwich served with a lime rice and small side of beans.... The tortilla chips come with slices of lime and salt and 2 yummy dipping sauces. We love the uniqueness of this restaurant! Give it a try!

We spend our summers in Naples (from DC) and generally miss fantastic Mexican inspired dishes that are commonplace in DC (Jose Andres) - we discovered that Masa was connected to Campiello (a fave) and so we thought to give it a try with some DC friends in town. It was (IS) fantastic. The drinks are great - the Diablo martini a bright spot - but every drink we tried was great. I'm confused why so many people have not given this restaurant the credit it deserves as a non-traditional Naples restaurant. I can only guess that the poor reviews are from people expecting more of a Taco Bell experience. We've visited three or four times so far and will definitely make a visit again this week before we head home. The service is always great and friendly.

Happy hour is the BEST from 3:00pm to 6:00pm is $5.00 for any margarita (huge variety) tasty food and the ambiance is lots of FUN!!!

I generally really like Masa, but its hit or miss. The decor, music, art and overall layout is quite nice. The margaritas are delicious and food is fair to good. I really would love to see some hot and efficient bartenders with smiles on their faces. I love Latin music which is a huge reason why I return. Love the "living walls"..my favorite thing about this restaurant.

Masa Is in a league of it own. The food is absolutly fantastic! The most authentic Mexican food I have ever had in the states. The service is spot on, warm, friendly & attentive. My Diabolita (sp) Margarita, was a spicy & sweet delicious surprise, I had to order another one. Yummy. So many yummy things on the menu, I can't even list all my favs. Wait until you see the design of the restaurant, the living wall outside and in is magical!! Brilliant Place... Planning on going back very soon. Thank you Masa!

Best Mexican joint in Naples. This place is new and they have really put a lot if money and effort into it. The ceviche was TO DIE FOR , and the margaritas were awesome as well. It's an upscale place, but not stuffy. Definitely stop by if you're in the area. You won't De disappointed!

Ron C. is BY FAR their best server! Ask for him and you will have an amazing dinner experience. He is super friendly and extremely knowledgable. The filet is so good. And it comes with a corn tamale that is so so good. Their mojitos are delish, I'm not a margarita fan at all, and they have a really great happy hour. Enjoy!!!

I love this place! I am not a margarita "person" but I love their Margarita's -fresh ingredients. My favorite is the Mescal-absolutely refreshing and only $5 on the Happy hour menu. Try the Calamari with black rice-it is outstanding. I can't remember the name of the dish on the menu but seek it out - it is worth it. Great setting, friendly staff, fresh and innovative food.

Tres leches dessert is classic, simple, but very very, how it should be done. And, of course, we enjoyed guacamole like always.. :)

I've been visiting this area for over 30 years and wanted to try a new restaurant. Found this place listed in a magazine and looked at reviews, all seemed good. The restaurant is within the Mercado shopping center. Walking up the exterior was covered with greenery and flowers with several tables located out front. The ambiance was fun, louder and decode was contemporary Latin American. The food......complimentary chips and salsa were warm, good salsas. Party of four had carna esada tacos, fish Veracruz, enchiladas and fish tacos. Veracruz was very spicy, with lots of olives and peppers, not for the person who doesn't like hot food. Tacos were both standard and delicious. Enchiladas on the small side, only one per order. All the signature drinks are delicious. Service was great in a full restaurant. I would strongly recommend this place for anyone who loves upscale Mexican/Latin American.

Would seem they are passing off refrigerated and microwaved food as a Luxury now in Naples. Our server was nice, even if not sincere Never heard any specials, and special requests, such as extra cheese went acknowledged but not followed through with. We ordered a Masa Margarita and a ginger mojito and they were acceptable, but not the greatest. Guacamole was ordered for the app, and it came very promptly and very cold, which would not have been a problem except that it slightly smelt like refrigerator coolant, though the veggies it was served with were freshly cut. Unfortunately, we put in out entree order at the same time, and as soon as the first bite of guac was in our mouths, the waiter was putting down our main dinner. My Fiance oordered the fish tacos and I had the tomeles. The tacos were good, but the tomeles with barbacoa was just lacking in everything... seasoning, barbacoa, cheese (even though extra was asked for). I ended up eating one of the fish tacos, and had the tomeles wrapped to go, once again asking for more cheese on the side. The Flan was ordered for desert, and once again we felt cheated. It was more pudding than custard and whatever was fried for garnishment on top, tasted like burnt paper/plastic combination. We be grudgingly paid the overpriced bill, because we just wanted to leave. Next time, we'll go to the Cheesecake Factory for better, fresher mexican food.

It really saddens me to only give this restaurant a harsh, 2 stars review, but maybe the honest feedback will help them grow. The location has so much potential! I will say this, the decor and atmosphere are fantastic. When I visited this restaurant we were put on the wait list, even though there were about 8 open tables, but I understood and appreciated a place that is not going to overbook themselves. While we were waiting I went to the bar and ordered a round of drinks... two people... $24 for one vodka soda and a mojito! This is not Miami. On a higher note, a very observant waiter came over and let us know that an outside table was paying their bill and about to leave. We got right in and the outside atmosphere was fantastic and great for people-watching! That was the end of our enjoyment, sadly. A different waiter served us; he had the strangest attitude I've ever encountered. The only way I can describe it would be to say he was annoyed & shy. Onto the meal... I am a huge fan of guacamole and the guac appetizer here crushed my dreams. It was overpowered with onions and tasted store-bought. Not fresh. The chips were flaky and greasy. GREASE is the main word I would use to describe all of our food that night. For the entree we decided upon the trio of soft tacos - carnitas/ carne asada/ baja fish. The pork shoulder was delicious/ carne asada mediocre/ and baja fish - covered in a thick layer of breading and grease. Very disappointed. The bathroom situation: Ladies - I highly suggest using the restroom before coming to this restaurant. There is only ONE bathroom and the line is always at least 8 women deep. Do not waste your time. Unfortunately, I would have preferred eating at the Chipotle around the corner. I always like to give new restaurants two tries before making a review, but honestly I do not believe we will ever return. If I could sum up our visit to Masa in two words: Overpriced & Greasy.

I'd really say 3.5 stars, but I'm giving them the 4 star deal because they're brand-new and they're trying. Me and the Mrs. went last night because of a gift certificate from the in-laws. It was a Christmas gift, but I also think we were their guinea pigs to test out a possible new place to eat. Decor-wise, a very nice place, and they have a good sized bar area that might be fun, though we just had wine (none of the different margaritas or sipping tequilas or whatever). We would have had an appetizer, but they brought us fresh out of the fryer chips with salsa, so we stuck to that. The Mrs. had three of the tacos and said they were good and I had the grilled cobia fish and I thought it was excellent. Some of these reviews have complained about portion size, but this ain't Tex-Mex/Taco Bell street food Mexican, so that didn't bother me a bit. The service wasn't bad, but it was a little...odd and weirdly timed. We had a late-ish reservation (after 8 pm) and it took an oddly long time after we were seated for anyone to come by. Once the waitress did show up, she was very nice and a frequent visitor to our table after that, but when she was trying to open the bottle of wine we ordered, it was clear she missed that day of training. She managed, but she needs practice. Then she took the wine (a white) and chilled it in a sort of "communal" ice bucket a couple tables away. This was not a big deal-- she was back often enough to fill our glasses and we weren't in any hurry-- but I've never seen such a thing. After the slow start, things moved oddly quick. What I mean is we ordered wine and food, she was back with the wine, and then before I could even have a second sip, the food was there. I don't want to complain about fast arriving food, but it was a little strange getting stuff quicker than I usually do at McDonalds. And then things slowed down. For desert, we decided to split some churros and I ordered a coffee. Time passed. The churros showed up (good, though a little under-done IMO) and then, with apologies, my coffee. A few minutes later, the manager came by to apologize and explained the churros had been delivered to the wrong table. Jeez. Well, they gave me the coffee for free. So like I said, they're still trying to work out the kinks but I think it will ultimately be a good restaurant and one I'll try again. Oh, PS and an unsolicited suggestion: class up the wait staff uniforms a bit, folks. Cheap polo shirts are fine if you're aiming for the Applebee's crowd, but if you're charging $40+ a head for app, entree, desert, and drinks, put on a dress shirt at least.

We first came by here before they were officially opened. The girl showed us around and bragged how they would have all these special menus (gluten free, vegetarian). We came back when they were open and we were told we had to make reservations. The next reservation I could get was 9pm the next weekend! When we finally went there I asked waiter about vegetarian options and he looked at me like I was crazy. They he tells me the chef can make "anything I want." So, I said just give me taco shells, black beans, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes. Once again he looked at me like I was crazy, "we do not have lettuce or tomatoes here." At that point I just gave up and ordered a salad. My husband ordered chicken enchiladas and then was later told they were out of chicken. I asked for a margarita with no salt and he brought it to me with salt anyways!! The margarita was good otherwise, but very small. The salsa was good, but the chips were a mess. A bunch of crumbled thick and greasy chips. My salad was even bad, dressing was very salty. My husband ended up getting a pork tamale which he did not like at all. The beans that came with the tamales was a very tiny portion and he thought they were horrible. We won't be coming here again.

I've been here twice for lunch..they do a lunch special that's 2 for $12. They have chips and salsa for the table..fresh and homemade. I've ordered the blood orange margarita both times..really good! Delicious guacamole also. There's an extensive tequila and drink list and only a few pages of food on the menu. The fish tacos were delicious and so were the Duro tacos (pulled chicken with spicy chipotle crema). Good place to eat for lunch and you can sit outside if you like. Service was better the second time I went..the first time it was horrible.

Yuck! Words cannot even describe the service at the place, it is a big joke. We waited at least 20 minutes before anyone came near our table, even though the place was overflowing with staff. Seems like they have 10 busboys for every waiter. It was ridiculously haphazard service and quite shocking. Our server was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Moving on from this, the food was horrible, two parties got the pork shank and it was near inedible. Place needs to get it together.

We had a great meal. Tortilla soup was delicious, as were the crispy tacos. The tamales were the best I've had anywhere. Our server was friendly & efficient. We'll definitely be back!

Habenero infused tequila margarita with blood orange and pomegranate juice...my new favorite drink! The chicken enchiladas sounded ho hum on the menu but when our waitress described them, they sounded delicious and were! The atmosphere of this place is lovely and surprising for a 'mall' restaurant. Only complaint is that it's a little pricey! But I would definitely go back.

Pretty good food. I particulairly benefit from the happy hour from 11pm-1;30 am which includes 3$draft and 5$ house margaritas. I have visited during the day as well to sit at the bar and did notice the bartenders puring drings from a universal carafe during non happy hours which led me to believ i was being swidled into paying 11-14$ for a margarita claiming to be made of patron or don julio but in actuality was just well liquopr. Overall not a bad place, can get crowded at the bar late night on weekends thou. Bartenders could use a frinedler outlook thou.

Love this place. I'm not quite sure why if has 2.5 stars. I am definitely a foodie, and don't quite get why this place has so few stars. I seriously wonder if maybe it's attracting the same people that go to Blue Martini, because that would explain a lot.

We have been here a handful of times and never have been disappointed. The black rice with Calamari is just delicious. The beef and chicken enchiladas are very, very, very good. The guacamole us a little bit spicy, but decent. They have a great selection of tequilas as well. The ambience is great. There's one server that's not that good, but overall it's a good dinning experience.

I came here months ago and was very disappointed saying I'd never go back..although the margaritas were great. I went back this evening and our appetizers/entrees were awesome along with the great margaritas. Love their chips and salsa too! Keep in mind the margaritas are pricey but worth it :)

We had similar complaints, we were turned away and told "we can not accommodate you", no you can sit a bar or wait for high top. Very rude. When I tried to make reservations for a week away we were told 5:00 or 9:30 were available. Again the place had open tables all over the place. We are her in Naples year round and I will never go back. Just don't like the attitude. I have told my friends not to bother going after I read all the reviews

I used to frequent this restaurant when I would entertain out of town clients, no more! Someone had the ridiculous idea of placing two very large and very vocal parrots in the restaurant and they are unbearable! You cannot hold a conversation let alone enjoy anything you are eating or drinking. I have no idea who thought two birds caged in glass would add to the ambiance of this already good place, but they were sadly mistaken. I will not return until the parrots are gone!

Surprised to read all the bad reviews for this place. My parents and I dined over the weekend and we all enjoyed the experience. Yes, the portions are somewhat small but not offensively so. The chicken tortilla soup was great and I loved my mango jicama salad. To those complaining about price, this is Naples and keep in mind you are going to the price gauging complex Mercado. Minus one star for the small margaritas and two single bathrooms for the ladies.

To preface this I hate complaining about restaurants, especially in my own community. I used to work in the service industry and always try and be super polite to everyone, but I was really unhappy with the service here. The manager, in particular, a young dark-haired woman, was exceptionally arrogant and rude, feedback I've seen elsewhere online. The waitstaff seated me and my friend outside around 9 pm. The restaurant offers a "sample platter" of tacos (which I will say, are very good) on their happy hour and after-hours bar menus. They switch over from their regular to their bar menu (so I learned) around the time when we were seated. I knew about the tacos and asked whether they were on the bar menu, since the prices for the very same item drop significantly. The waiter understood but basically didn't answer my question. I was hungry so I didn't push the issue. We had some other people joining us so we asked the waiter to leave the bar menu with us once they closed the main menu. Of course, the minute he did I saw the very same thing I had just ordered less than half the price. I was not happy about this and asked the waiter to adjust my bill to reflect that if I had ordered 5 minutes later I would have paid half as much. He said something about we shouldn't have been seated outside in the first place (as if that was our problem), but that he would adjust the bill. To his credit he was nice enough and that should have been the end of it. The manager, though, for some reason seemed to want to argue the point, walking up to our table with a flip, negative "what's up", as in "what's your problem"? I again said that while I appreciate that while technically we ordered during the dinner menu period I had specifically asked the waiter if I could wait a few minutes and order the same thing from the bar menu. Again with a real entitled, "your're lucky we're serving you" attitude, she started arguing about how I ordered the meal and got more than what I would have gotten on the bar menu, that we shouldn't have been seated outside if we wanted to order from the bar menu, and all kinds of nonsense that may have been true but were beside the point. I felt like an idiot arguing over rice and beans so I just said that I would honor the full order if it included items not on the bar menu, which basically ruined my experience. The service worsened when they moved us inside since they were now closing the patio area. Again, not a big deal though it would not have killed them just to let us finish where we were. One of the waitresses guided us to an empty booth, but now someone else, one of the bartenders I believe, said that we should be sitting on the couches, perhaps because they didn't want us touching any napkins if we had already eaten??? What planet are these people from? A suggestion for Masa: relax on the rules. You're there for your guests, you're not doing us any favors with your existence, and try hiring people who understand that. Will definitely NOT be back, which is too bad. The food is good but I go out to relax, not compromise with jerks.

This place was so good. The chips and salsa were really good, the guac could have been better but Ill never say no to guac. I got the tamales and my mom got veggie enchiladas not on the menu but they made it for her. I wish I got my moms dish it was so good! Mine was good too but just a little too much of the tamale corn part. Great outdoor seating. Only thing is that our service was horrible. I have found the service in naples in general to be below par, so maybe people there are used it it but I am definitely not! Willing to give it another shot next time I'm in Naples. My family loves mexican!

This is a very up scale Mexican restaurantt with absolutely beautiful decor but party of six did not have a good evening. Very pricey for very small portions. Be sure to order your second drink when you order your first cause it takes 15/20 minutes to get a drink. Service very, very slow. This was at 5 pm. The people who had the steak, as the other review mentioned, said it was very good but the rest of food was just okay. The guacamole appetizer was horrid. Maybe a 1/4 cup with large pieces not mashed up served with about 8 pieces of raw veggies. The 2 small beef enchiladas for $18 were the size around of a nickel and not very tasty. Will not return.

Habanero infused tequila margarita? Gulf shrimp with black bean chili oil? Hangar steak with ancho chili? Fresh chips and salsa? Yes please! Skip the tex-mex tacos and tamales and order the good stuff. I rarely order chicken at a restaurant, but this was fantastic: "Pollo al Yucatan Grilled all-natural half chicken, marinated in achiote, garlic and guajillo chiles; with Mexican potato salad and tomatillo salsa". This is not your average "Mexican" restaurant. Recommended.

I have send this to there headquarter and after one week they dont't even answer that says it all!! yesterday at 5:30pm my wife and i took a seat outside. I ordered a beer, my wife a Margarita. Minutes later we ordered both some food. Then my wife says i would like a beer also with my food (which already arrived) so i asked the server for another beer. After 3...4 minutes he came out and told me, it is the company rule not serving 2 drinks at once. My wife's Margarita was still half full. I was not in the mood to complain and disturb our night. This server NICK is the worst i have seen in a long time we eat out 4 times a week, so i know what i am talking about. Tables not clean, no napkins/silverware with food, we have to ask to get it, food cold when it came!! As a result, i asked for my check and went next door for dinner. Bon appetit Maurice

Very cool hotspot in trendy Mercato. Everyone from Hostess to Waiter was great. We went for dinner and the food was decent. While I don't think I'll go there for dinner again, I would definitely go back for late happy hour (10p) and enjoy the drinks, energetic atmosphere and maybe a few apps...

Went with the family. Everything was amazing. Fresh taste and well portioned. We destroyed the guacamole appetizer. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the salad was weird. This place deserves more than the 2 stars it has.

Went there with 6 other people and we all had horrible meals. I've been eating Mexican food for 43 years and never have i been ripped off like this place. The food was tasteless and for that our bill came to $240, really! The good news is the service was excellent. We are never going back.

Very good food. Highly underrated by yelp. This was the best meal I have had in 2014. The scallops were amazing, along with the crepe. Our server was awesome very friendly he gave us great recommendations. My boyfriend is a chef from Cleveland and we both agreed best food in Naples. We are only here for 10 days and have made another reservation for this Friday. Can't rave enough about this place. I never leave reviews but this was worth my time.

I had to add my positive experience we had last night since I was a bit alarmed to go after reading the previous reviews. Perhaps they now have their act together, but we had a delightful and delicious meal last night....the guava margarita was excellent and large enough for me....we thought the chips were very tasty and not greasy....and the chicken enchiladas and the nightly special of braised short ribs were excellent with a very generous portion of meat. There were 4 of us but we ordered the same things, so I can't provide more commentary. We also had a good waiter and enjoyed dining outside. The only negative I have is that I do think the prices are too high....$18 for the enchiladas and $29 for the short rib special. No complaints about food or service.

I went for lunch and had a good meal and experience. It is high end Mexican food. They have a big bar with many different tequilas. It has a modern decor with a NYC feel. Glass blown chandeliers, live plants in the wall, colorful murals. The high prices are paying for the interior decorator. If you are looking for cheap Mexican food, go to Taco Bell or Chipotle. If you are looking for some good Mexican inspired food with local ingredients, try Masa. Margaritas were very good with lots of variety. We had guacamole, cobra ceviche, three tacos and pork sandwich. All were very good. Service was attentive. There were some new restaurant issues but not uncommon (ie running out of items at lunch, mixing up tables). I think they will work it out and it will be hot spot for Mercato and Naples.

Masa is advertised as a restaurant with an extensive drinks list. In actuality it seems to be a bar with dining facilities. The regular menu is 8 or so pages of drinks and 2 pages of food. We ate off the lunch menu. The 2 salsas for the chips were spicy as we expected. The chicken tortilla soup was spicy too as were the mango/jicama salads and the 2 meager carne asada tacos in soft shells that fell apart every time I tried to pick them up. From this experience I'd say the intent of the food is to build your thirst for a drink. Pleasant people, nice decor, but not a restaurant except in name. Someone told me the Campiello's own this. It's such a far cry from their other restaurants that I have trouble believing it.

This is a terrific restaurant! Don't look for the usual cheap earth tones on a plate found at most 'Mexican' joints. These are authentic, freshly prepared dishes from various regions of Mexico. Although the bar is big and well-stocked, this is NOT a bar which happens to serve food. the food is delicious!!! The Yucatan chicken and the pork in banana leaf are excellent. The grilled squid over squid ink rice is the ultimate in umami. Fresh, warm tortilla chips-homemade-are put right on the table with two homemade sauces-not the usual jarred stuff. The ambiance, which usually doesn't matter to me, is smile- producing and interesting. The waitstaff is prompt and friendly. If you expect cheap, run of the mill tex-mex, this won't be the place for you. If you want to eat excellent food like that served in upscale restaurants on Mexico City or something even better than Bobby Flay's, this is the place. We have been waiting for an excellent ethnic restaurant in Naples for years and now, thanks to the D'amicos who always do a superb job, we have one. Now if they would just give us a great Chinese and a good Indian we can rest happy!!!

Nice atmosphere like everything else at Mercato but food leaves alot to be desired. Had skirt steak dish...steak was pretty good but the rest of it like the rice, etc. that makes it Mexican was not. My wife had fish, meat and chicken tacos with sides and just satisfactory....again, what's up with the rice?

Honestly, I love this place. I've been more than many times to Masa and I enjoy the Margaritas, ambience and service but, Saturday the 30th at 11:30 pm. My thoughts of this place completely change. Starting with the bartender named Chris, the service was poor ,rushed and rude . And we NEVER got our chips and salsa. When he was delivering my wife's delicious pink guava drink, he refused to hand her the drink and insisted on setting it on the table himself in such a derogatory way. After waiting 20m on waiting to get my credit card back I asked where Chris was and his co worker told me "he went to storage" while my credit card was just lonely sitting at the bar. My purpose of writing this is so they please IMPROVE their service skills because this place is a gem and it would be sad to see it go down cuz of some people that don't care about their job delivery and quality. And please LET US KNOW what's on happy hour and what's NOT when we order.

One of the best Restraunt atmospheres in the region! If you're looking for a really cool bar with eye-candy appeal, this is it. Love the cool salsa music. THE place to go for a nice margarita or sangria and chips and salsa ... The BEST chips in the area made right on site. As for food... It is priced right and beautifully plated. But so much of the menu is spicy... Not so much hot as in peppers (which I love) but spicy and heavy on mole. We have been there twice and both times the waiter didn't steer us well when we made it clear .. Not too spicy. Please. Tortilla soup is just odd and not palatable for one guy at our table. My husband stuck it out but really couldn't enjoy it. 3 taco dish first trip was unbearably spicy but on our second try it was just fine. Delicious. Hanger steak was 5-star DELICIOUS. we are going back for that. Again, this restaurant is all about the waiters helping you through the menu because so much is items out of your normal culinary experience. Look at dishes other people order around you to SEE what they are before you order. That will help. The parrots were ear-piercing. But perhaps they have calmed down. They are beautiful birds to watch. Love the music. Outdoor seating is the BEST in the area. Best night time atmosphere! This is definitely a great date night restaurant to keep in mind.

Oh boy. Not your typical Mexican restaurant. Not reading any of these reviews before going I can honestly say that many of the other reviews were right on with comments said. Small portions and high prices, and the food being not so great. The enchiladas were a big disappointment. The fish tacos not so great, and the pork taco being really bad so much so causing food poisoning in a party member. Service was strange. There is the waiter, then someone pouring water, another person delivering the entrees and I think another person taking dirty dishes away. After ordering drinks and appetizers our entrees were delivered maybe ten minutes later. The service aspect of the dinner was really confusing. I would have liked to have seen the waiter more often then what we did. Ordering another drink was difficult too only because the waiter was not around. All in all, this was not a pleasant dining experience, and my husband and will likely not return. I would not recommend Masa to anyone looking for good Mexican food or service. Very disappointing.

Masa has a great selection of $5 happy hour margaritas and apps. I get the cucumber one every time and it's a great deal especially for mercato. The decor is a little odd but there's a comfortable lounge area. They also have a late night happy hour.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America.
