Love this place. Great homemade pastas. Loved the fettuccine bolgnese and alfredo. good wine list too. One of the best Italian restaurants in Naples that isn't over-priced.

Terrible service, loud, the waiter complained to us about old people. Food was mediocre and too expensive for that. Garlic bread was so overdone it cut my gums when I bit into it. Alfredo sauce was tasty.

My husband and I found this restaurant because every other restaurant was filled with old people (yes - I am complaining about old people but more so the crowds during season), however, it turned out to be our good fortune because this is our new favorite restaurant. I believe it must be family owned. It is very reasonably priced, the ambiance is very romantic, and we have always had very nice and attentive wait staff who know how to let you enjoy your company rather than rush you out. Now, this is not a Trulucks, Cafe Lurcat, or high end restaurant. This is better than anywhere in the Mercato, better than any chain restaurant, and it's neatly tucked away so there is not any traffic. I am giving this a 5 stars with those caveats. If you want a high -end steakhouse, you should ask yourself why you are at an Italian restaurant. If you are looking for a home cooked meal, then stay home. If you are looking for a nice romantic evening or a nice dinner with family where the crowd is a step above and the wine is great; then you can't do any better. I am so hesitant to write this review because this is such a great spot that has not been hit by the crowds, but it's too good to keep a secret. I am going to say it's not good for children because it's smaller and if your child starts crying - everyone will turn and look at you. Hire a babysitter. I would say that this is a restaurant where Naples chic (think where beachy meets glam) will do.

The atmosphere and location were promising. Nice and Naples-y. We were a little under-dressed with our t-shirts but the restaurant was nearly empty at 6:30 on a summer Thursday so it didn't matter. Earns one star for the atmosphere. The service was friendly, professional and quick. Earns the other star in this review. Just service would be 5 stars (thanks guys!). We ordered simple items-- pizzas (cheese and pepperoni) and spaghetti with meatballs. The pizza was overly cheesy and tasted too salty. The center was a little soggy as well. The kids thought it was tasty but they're not as picky about their pizzas. My dish was the spaghetti with meatballs. I've been in a pasta mood lately. I found the pasta was cooked properly but the dish was way over sauced! I ate most of the pasta and was left with a bowl full of sauce. I didn't care for the meatballs at all but my child ate and enjoyed them. With the food being average, I can give them a total of three stars. Not sure if we'll be back here. I'm certainly still on the look out for my perfect pizza place here in Naples.

Poor excuse for an Italian restaurant. Not my first time but will be my last. The food is so bland, as another review stated, yes the oil is cheap, might not even be olive. Overpriced, ugly bar view. I could get into it but why bother, if I wasn't starving I would have sent my food back and left. Might be classified as decent hospital food, but that might be a stretch. Oh but wait, they put a water glass filled with compacted Parmesan and a spoon for you to help yourself. Lol. Don't ask for pepper from a grinder, all us get are shakers from a diner Did 1 star cuz you have to!

This will be short because there isn't really much to say. Service was excellent. Gnocchi pesto no flavor. Mussels white appetizer no flavor. Soup/salad not included. Prices ridiculous. $6.99 extra for gluten free pasta? 7.99 for soup? That sums it up.

Pretty expensive. Meals were so-so. Waiter was nice but really messed up the bill. Linguini with white clam sauce wasn't very good. Chicken Piccata was very average. Won't be going back.

I've eaten Alfredo's three times now in the last month. Twice I got pizza and I think it's great! When I ate dinner there, service was good and my meal was pretty good. I got a Caprese salad and eggplant parm. Tartufo for dessert. My only complaint so far is whoever takes the take-out orders on the phone. This chic has an attitude and sorry to say, she sounds like a real flake. One time we did take out and ordered a pizza with half peppers and mushrooms...when we got home, we discovered the half of our pizza with mushrooms and peppers had NO cheese on it! There was cheese on only one half!!! I mean, really? Lol. I guess she doesn't get what toppings are- and that they go on top of the cheese!

My office is across the street from Café Alfredo. I had heard really good things about it from two or three people, so I grabbed dinner one evening when I was working late. Since then, I've eaten there just about every other day! Amazing food and service! I highly recommend it to anyone! -Brandon Bytnar

They have a great menu. Pasta and sauces made fresh daily. Flatbread pizzas made on the spot with lots of toppings to pick from. Kids menu with chicken fingers, spagetti, and cheese pizza. The food was geat and staff was friendly. This is real Itilian food done well.

It's a loud restaurant and the food was really average. The service was poor. We ordered our meals and asked for a meatball and onion pizza to take home The server came back and asked the type of pizza again and I told him meatball/onion. While we paying the check the pizza box was put on the table. I looked inside and it was pepperoni and onion. The Server asked if I wanted to change it? So the pizza was remade. We got it home and wasn't done. There are better restaurants in town for less money.

I hate it when the computer rules people. We arrived 5 minutes before end of early bird but had to order ASAP to get the pricing. Since we hadn't been there before , we couldn't meet the deadline. The service was very good but I thought the menu was unimaginative, typical red sauce dishes and it's hard to imagine an Italian restaurant without a risotto offering. After we sent back a plate of stale bread, the meal improved. Excellent atmosphere with an open air bar.

Delicious ! Very good Italian food. Linguini and red clam sauce comes with whole clams in the shell, not canned. Nice restaurant, nice atmosphere. Service good, they seemed a little disorganized but attentive and hustled. My dish came late but there were 7 of us and they appologized. No big deal because everybody elses food was so hot they were waiting for it to cool by the time mine arrived. I would go back again.

First and last time at this establishment. Server was pleasant. Food was awful. Ordered a Margherita Pizza and requested light cheese and a caesar salad. My friend ordered the lasagna. Salad had too much dressing on it. Pizza seemed to have excessive amount of cheese plus I had black soot-like smears all over my plate which is from the oven. The entire crust of my pizza was covered in this so I couldn't eat the pizza with my hands without getting black stuff all over them. My white cloth napkin was covered in black marks. Their reasoning was because of the brick oven. I've been to many a brick oven pizza restaurants in Naples and this has never happened. I think I ate one slice and left the rest on the plate. They removed the salad off my bill. It didn't matter to me either way because I won't be eating here again. My friend said her lasagna was mediocre.

First time here. Had calamari, salad, both good. Then came the disappointment. Pizza was way too greasy! A shame, because the crust was good. Friendly service but did not listen to our special requests.

My parents new favorite (because it's close to home)... cool spot... Great food, great pizza, great salad (salads??? wtf? )... the octopus salad is freakin amazing.... lunch reasonably priced.... staff is awesome ( Max & Holly( I think) ) are cool cats.... great place, cool food. The owner is always on sight during the day, probably wouldn't kill him to greet & get to know the people at his 2 tables.... that might (maybe?) be a nice touch... So far, staff & food has been great (their meatballs blow, but I think that's a regional thing w/ us....) We will be back & as this joint grows into season, I'll update later. Worth visiting!!

Ok, the veal parm is the best I have ever had. Seriously cut it with my fork.. In fact, every course was perfect. The oysters Rockefeller with Fontana cheese, the house salad with arugula and veal Parmesan. I don't usually even give reviews and have never given 5 stars. I think, and only because I am old I question this, I think this was the best Italian meal I have ever had. Yep, I am coming back for sure.

Loud, noisy and attractive . They own Panevino which I hated. Terrible cold bread with cheap nasty olive oil for dipping, get butter. Salads great. My bolongnase was good, another shrimp dish was smelly and under spiced, gnocchi and lasagne were good. Fair prices. Great waiter, good wine list. House wines $1 off until 7 pm. Chubby hostess was annoying in telling us a table in the back was reserved when it wasn't , we got the table. Other repeat diners had issue with her last time. I believe Bravo is better and Carrabbas better overall value than this place .

Awesome, best Italian food in Naples. Veal was killer, wine selection great, salad and dessert perfect. Service excellent. Clean, well managed. Can't wait to go back!!!!

Run as fast as you can! We waited 12 minutes before someone brought water. Then we told the owner- mgr and she said "too bad". The server came to the table with a drenched shirt and an attitude out of a horror film. The food was greasy, cold, expensive and tasted like a cheap fast food meal. I would never give this place my business and for the prices, service and quality I would run. Save yourself a wasted trip and go to Carrabas and have a better meal. PS. The rude waiter brought the wrong salad to our table and then brought it to another table right after. Talk about unsanitary and inappropriate!!!

I've spent a week in Naples ate out many times, this restaurant by far was the worst I have been to. We decided to eat here because the sign outside said that Alfredo's specialized in wood fire pies. We were seated quickly it was a little over an hour before closing time in the kitchen staff was already closing down the kitchen. Our server was friendly and upon opening the menu we discovered that the smallest portion of the menu was actually the wood fired pies with only two types to choose from or a make your own option. None of which sounded appealing. I hemed and hawed until finally deciding to get to the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and my wife ordered some mushroom risotto which was a special for the night. Both dishes came out quickly both the dishes were subpar. I would take the Olive Garden over this restaurant if that's any indication as to the quality of the Italian food. Don't waste your money or time with how many great places there are to eat in Naples.

This restUrant was recommended because they have gluten free pastas and pizza. As a diner with gluten sensitivity, I appreciate the efforts that more and more restaurants are making to accomodate such diners. However, I was appalled to find that they charged an extra $5.95 for gluten free pasta. I, therefore, would probably not recommend this restaurant.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
