Yelpers you must pass by! The people who work here will be more than happy to get busy with you. Ok, so where do I start? The place looks way nicer than you would expect due to the location but please dont misjudge, you have to go in. It's very cozy, low lights ... Perfect for a quiet meal with some good music. Unfortunately, i did not get to see their night shows because I went on a Wed and according to one of the sweet owners those are on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Let's get to the main part here, the food. To start, i can clear that it might take a little longer than your appetite wants to but trust me, totally worthy. Everything is fresh (you can tell) and its all made to order; how much better could it get? My tapa had an array of delicious ingredients. On top of toasted bread there was a lot and i mean a lot of smoked salmon with mascarpone cheese, arugula, truffle oil ,parmesan shavings, raising and if im not mistaken silvered almonds ohhhhhh was it delightful. Taste-wise that could be a whole meal but then you just want to try more of their food. They a have a fusion of tiramisu and cheesecake id call it(i think they call it Zalamisu? Lol im not sure), out of this world. It also has Nutella hence, cannot be bad! The meat was tasty and nicely tenderized paired with "not your everyday rice" And very important: Surprisingly LOW PRICES. Tapas places are normally kinda pricey. This place has that quality/portion size/price ratio figured it out. Look, if you want to have some good tapas( liquid croquetas??? Oh yes) go there; even if you are not specifically thinking of tapas still go and give a try to a different type of cuisine. All good food is made with love and the owners, who run absolutely everything in this family restaurant, got that covered for you. From a happy guest Ps: do not forget their wine list and those hot deals.

Fount this place thru restaurants.com (we had a groupon to use) The location is unexpected, its in the middle of a shopping plaza in 8th street, but dont let that fool you. Inside you forget all this and are transported into a fancy restaurant with beautiful lighting and live piano music. The food was amazing, we had 3 apetizers and the croquetas won out. Regarding the plates, the steak were seasoned correctly and the octupous was very good. We didnt make it to desserts as we were stuffed! they losse a star because the waitress was Horrible. She was playing with another table children and acting more like a babysitter than anything. our water was always empty and we had a long wait for our appetizers.

Excellent Spanish/Latin cozy place. Great prices. Spent the entire night enjoying the music. If you want to enjoy Latin music (salsa, merengue), you must go. You won't be disappointed. Food is delicious.

I thought this place would be amazing, i was like wow a tapas closer to my house, but hands down bad. The owners are really nice which was the best part of the experience, but the service and food was horrible. We waited an hour to get water. Happy hour was still going when i got here, so i ordered the spanish omelette (no flavor w slab of mayo), chorizo with soggy fries, and russian salad (the only thing that was good) for great prices, for dinner i ordered the risotto with steak *worst ever** BLAND as can be. I literally had 1 bite and left plate. My husband had the black rice with calamari tiny better taste but in puddle of olive oil. Sorry but 100% wont be back. I wish the owners luck because they were really nice.

yeah whatever, you may say impossible to give 5 stars. I went here the first day it opened and there weren't too many patrons there, but I can tell you that the attention we received from the staff and the owners came from the heart. The owners are passionate about their product and you can tell how excited they are to bring Zalameria to life, specially with a Chef like Adrien Meizoso aboard. As I was talking to the owners, Chef Meizoso brought me an ensalada rusa to try, this was not your pre-packaged stored overnight salad. It was delicious. Upon inspection of the menu, my Cuban eyes were immediately attracted to the "croquetas liquidas", made with serrano ham. These things exploded with flavor in my mouth and I had to fight my two year old over them, these are now my favorite croquetas and I can eat 1000 of these. I ate these along with the freshly baked bread we were served. We also ordered La Tapita de Ceferino (Pork loin, chorizo filling, country eggs and house fries) this was a nice shareable dish and you can't go wrong with eggs. You will want to ask for a spoon, to scoop up the left over chorizo to place on your bread. YUMMM I've eaten at many places that get the camarones al ajillo all wrong, Zalameria got these right. Big tasty, a hinted grilled flavor but it was just right. Again, bread to dip in that garlic sauce. I will be coming to this restaurant a lot, and I plan to indulge in every item on the menu.

My fiancee had searched for some spanish restaurants a week ago and ran into this spot. She wanted to go try it sometime soon, and it happened that yesterday we were close by. When we pulled into the small plaza it didn't seem very appealing. As we were walking towards the entrance they greeted us outside. When i walked in, I was extremely surprise to see the inside setting. My first reaction was "Whoa, I was definitely not expecting this". The place has a very nice lounge look and is set up in a way for plenty of comfortable seating. Our waitress explained they would be having live entertainment at 8:30pm, and this is something that goes on every Friday and Saturday. There was an extra $6 charge for the show depending on what they had going on, others were free. They waitress started off by bringing us out some complimentary bread and olives mixed with some olive oil and artichoke, which was great. We decided to order 5 tapas for us and the ones that mostly stood out were the spanish ceviche (not like your usual ceviche but still very good), plate of ham & cheeses, chorizo al vino. We can't wait to go back to catch some live entertainment while dining and try some new dishes.

I rarely write reviews but this one I felt i needed to comment. its a new establishment with impecable interior design, but service sucks, although they have polite waitress, the kitchen is extremely slow, undstatement, I felt I was wisked away to a magical place where the food would never arrive. It took 20min to get sangria, & 20min to get cheese & chorizo, then we decided to ask,how long for main dishes, we ask,if the can be done under 20min, they say no, 30min minimum, grand total wait time 1hr to be served, at that point we called it quits, had drinks & appetizers out we went, hungry as hell, cant recommed due to slow service, if u go go fed & expexct to wait!

My husband and I went last Friday March 21 because we had been working late and looking for a place near his office. He found the restaurant on Yelp and it seemed interesting. We loved the place! Food and wine were excellent, the prices extremely reasonable and a very friendly staff. There was also live music, a duo on keyboard and sax that were awesome! We're going back this Friday and bringing friends. Highly recommend this gem!!!

One of my favorite spots! Great sangria, great food, nicest people ever! Recommend thia place to anyone. There are some things o don't like in the menu because they're are not my presence anyways I can't say I have tasted everything but so far so good. Outside looks like not a nice place at all. Inside is nice, decoration is beautiful and cozy

Another foodie adventure with my fabulous hungry girls crew. This is a hole in the wall located in a less than lovely shopping center. Don't let the outside fool you - this is a true diamond in the rough. We showed up at 5pm on a night they happened to be closed for a private event; however, they were kind enough to let us in since the birthday girl was hangry - not hungry, hangry! Food was good, everything except the octopus which I found had no flavor. Service was excellent, staff was friendly and attentive but then again we were the only ones in the place so it would have been unacceptable for them to have been anything but. My favorites were the chorizos, gambas, and the truffled cheese. Croquetas were a bit salty but good flavor. The girls enjoyed their sangria. Their signature dessert is an absolute must, it was phenomenal. They have live music on weekends and from the white pleather couches it looks like the elite of Westchester party hard here. Looks like a fun place for Cougars and the demographic mentioned above.

Our first time here, it was a bit dead, but then again it is a Sunday night over Labor Day weekend! The waitstaff if very helpful and friendly. Our first course was garlic shrimp, very good! And buñuelos de bacalo, they were ok... Just a little bit on the salty side. I ordered the Zalameria Chicken with caramelized onions and mashed potatoes... EXCELLENT!! My husband ordered the creamy rice with seafood...another excellent dish! Cafe Bon Bon... A MUST!!!!

The two of us and a baby entered an empty Zalameria on a weekday at 2 pm. We felt a little out of place, but we were welcomed warmly. We found out about this place through Restaurant.com . If you do use a restaurant.com certificate then I would recommend printing it out on paper if you can. I had to give them my phone for a while which I wasn't really comfortable with in case they dropped it. They were very accommodating and everything we tried was tasty. The interior is very cute and cozy.
