Came here last night while on vacay with the hubby. When we entered the restaurant, we were "seated" by the hostess. I use quotation marks because when I say seated, I mean he led us to a general direction of where to sit in the restaurant and then walked away. Weird, but we just picked a booth. It was BLARING loud in there when we sat down. Some kind of open mic/karaoke kind of deal? Not sure. Anyway our server was really nice. I was excited to try an authentic Cuban sandwich, but only to be told they were out of Cuban bread. Sad face!!! I settled on the media noche with maduros which was really good. Hubby got the paella, which he said was not the best, but I loved it because it tasted a lot like jambalaya. During dinner, a singer named (Yara?) took the mic and sounded AMAZING. Her voice reminded me a lot of Selena's, very pretty. All in all, I would come back here.

Tasty food, ethnic atmosphere, good food for kids (although limited selection). Inexpensive, worth it. Stopped for lunch on the way back from the Everglades. Authentic Cuban menu, fairly large portions, didn't wait overly long to be served.

TERRIBLE!!!!!!! I did not like this place at all!! My fiance took me here for lunch one day and I didn't eat anything at all! The place itself if not clean, the decoration is cheap and old, and the food is horrible!!! It's really hard to mess up a Cuban Restaurant and these people really did!!!I ordered a Grilled Chicken Breast with white rice and black beans - the Chicken Breast was not fully cooked, it had no color!! The rice was hard and dry and the black beans tasted disgusting!!! The service was horrible - there were only two other couples there and we had to wait like 25 minutes for our food!!!! All you hear were two men talking in Spanish - mind you, I'm Cuban but it was really annoying listening to their conversation and not being able to have one of your own! I think this place should be closed down because there are plenty of good Cuban restaurants already!

We went as a group of 9 and we all ordered separate cuban dishes. I had the Palomilla steak that was seasoned great and tasted great the rice, Black beans and Yuca were also very good. My wife had the fried pork chunks and again they were very good. The desert flan was outstanding. Great food, great Mojitos and the live entertainment was also nice. We were all very satisfied

This is as Latino as you can get. Mostly Cuban food and music. Allot of drinking with couples. Came to get take out. Not advisable on a Saturday night.

As a Cuban-American, I was fortunate enough to grow up eating Cuban food. There are also plenty of eateries in South Florida (especially Miami) that serve Cuban dishes, so I know I can always find a place to satisfy my craving. Unfortunately, this place failed to impress me. I had high hopes when the warm bread rolls came out, but my croqueta preparada sandwich left something to be desired. The croquettes' flavor was overwhelmed by the sliced ham, and the fries were bland. It's a sad testament when the best part of your meal is the free bread that serves as your appetizer.

Went with the family after a baseball game. We were a group of 9 and we arrived around 10 pm that night. We ordered mostly sandwiches for the kids and a few meals for the adults. The food was good quality and well prepared. Everything came out warm and delicious. I recommend trying the wajiro special sandwich! The service was friendly, but the only down side was we waited about 40 mins to get our food. Once the food finally arrived, we didn't even have utensils to eat with. All this time without our appetizers or even some bread. Maybe we just caught them on an off night. I will be trying them again soon to see if it improves.

I met up here with mom my. This place reminds me of an old school cuban restaurant. Think of La Carreta in the 80s. Service was horrific. After being seated for approximately 15 minutes I asked for the wine list. I had to ask for it again for 5 minutes later. They finally brought out 3 bottles of wine. We chose a twist top. When we asked the waiter for the price, he said he would check. After another 10 minutes we just asked for a 2 glasses since he never got back to us... after all it was twist top. We ordered about 45 minutes after we got there. About 15 minutes later (we had been here over an hour) we had to ask for the bread. The food came out and it was good. When the bill came out we were charged $45 for a twist top bottle of wine. I paid it reluctantly. If you are willing to wait and get over priced food cuban food then this is the place for you. But... you will never catch me here again.

Worst Cuban sandwich I ever had. Service was very slow and several tables that were seated after us got their food before us.

The ownership recently changed a couple of months ago so the service isn't as good as before. The food variety is more limited when I went they didn't have much sides to go with my meal. The service was ok the waiter would disappear for 15 min and not show up when we where looking for him. Beside the limit of variation the food was good but the service could be better.

Went today with my family. The food was good, but I thought the portions were too small for the price. Not only that, but we were always out of water, every time we needed water we had to call the waiter over. If you want good Cuban food with bigger portions, and less expensive, I'd recommend to go somewhere else. I won't be going back.

I'm reviewing their delivery service. The food here is great but I do have a slight problem... What self-respected Cuban place splits their rice and beans and counts them as two sides? Okay great, it happens...but then why wouldn't you be allowed to order an extra side? Their delivery menu only allows for either rice or beans to be selected (among other options)on all their entries and then does not have either one of those listed as a side order for extra charge. Ridiculous! Anyhow, I chose beans and hoped that someone would realize "Hey, maybe this guy would like some rice?" Nope. Just got some beans. Such a shame, the food was great. Please fix it. Be a cheapskate but at least let your customers purchase a damn side of rice or beans for delivery.

For Cuban food, this place needs big improvement. We ordered breaded steak with rice and beans. The steak was greasy and not tasty. We didn't finish eating and took the left overs home to throw it in the garbage. Do not consume poor quality of food to upset your stomach. The service can be improved. Customer : be aware.....!!!!!

This was my 3rd and last time eating at this restaurant. the last 2-times service was real bad, but I gave it a second chance. This is how the service went... We were told by a server, who was too busy texting to sit anywhere we want. When he brought the menu, he just slid it on the table and walked away. No..hello, can I get you anything to drink..nothing. I looked at my friend and waited for the server to come and take our order, which he did but very robotic. The food was dry and extremely salted. On the way out two servers were talking by the door and as we left they did not acknowledge us.........VERY BAD SERVICE.

Group of 14 of us came to this place and being Cuban, I'd say the food was really good with large servings, however, NOT worth what we paid for. My girlfriend got the churrasco and it was $18?! That's a bit much. We asked for a beer and wine list and the waiter said they didn't have one but to him what we wanted (well we didn't know obviously) so he suggested Sangria. I then asked him what kind and he began to get an attitude with us and said it was Spanish Sangria (not sure what that means) and suggested a pitcher. It came out in a karaf which is NOT a pitch and then come time to pay for the bill it was $22! Felt robbed. You can get great Cuban food anywhere. Especially in Hialeah. As far as seating, we were celebrating my cousins college graduation and she had told them she wanted to be someone close to the stage so we can see the people singing karaoke. When we arrived, we were practically on stage. We had two babies with us and they did not think or suggested moving away from the blaring singers. Half our party ended up having to eat quickly and then wait outside for the rest of us.

To be honest I wasn't expecting anything much of this place but it was the closest thing to Cuban Food from where we're at We were a group of 8 and the food was really good, tasty and the service was awesome. it was surprisingly good. we had a mix of Cuban breakfast and lunch. I highly recommended it....and we'll def come back.

This restaurant was always a neighborhood favorite and I have always found the food to be in line with your typical cuban eatery. The regular fare is consistent and their specials are decently priced. However, recently I have noticed a few trends that have me concerned. In no particular order... Overall their menu has stayed the same, but the portions have diminished somewhat. I have eaten at enough cuban places in and around Miami to know the difference between canned and made from scratch "frijoles negros". The ones I had recently, definitely tasted canned and re-heated. The breaded chicken steak had no flavor. It was woefully underseasoned and bland to the taste. The plantains were served a bit on the burned side. I asked the waiter to please bring me a fresh order and he hinted that they were all in the same condition and that the kitchen would not be making any more until the current batch was finished. The service while personable felt forced and at times overwhelming. You don't need to ask me four times how my food is, and if you see my glass is empty, please don't hesitate to pour more water without asking. I won't mind. For a place that was at times full of patrons on a Saturday night, it was pretty empty. There were two other couples eating tonight and I noted that one couple sent back their order twice. I recommend that the management do a top-down review of the restaurant and address the issues quickly. There's a lot of competition out there...

This place is not what it used to be. The food is bad and the WAITER even worst. Is very expensive for what you get. Go to another Restaurant with waiters that really want to work. Me and my family will never come back. !!!!!!

Where do I start? I moved to the neighborhood about 2 months ago. The first week of me living there, I decided to give them a try. I ordered a basic Cuban plate. Chicken breast with white rice and black beans. I went to the actual location and placed my order.... OH!!!! I forgot to mention... the menus that my friend and I had were bothe completely different from one another! anyways... as I waited, the "host" which was a young lady, couldn't have been older than 23, was doing everything BUT working. She was talking and flirting the the guests that were siting at the bar, showing them pictures on her phone, being attentive to everything BUT her job! Got my food, and when I took my first bite I realized that the cook was EXTREMELY generous with the salt! I like salty food, but geeeeeeeez! i dont wanna die as I'm eating my food. I could've eat it... There's more...................... I decided to give them a second chance! Went on a Sunday to have brunch. Walked in, there was nobody there to greet us. We decided to take a seat at the first table. It took the waiter 15 minutes to come to our table. We obviously knew what we wanted by then. My friend ordered a pan con bistec (steak sandwhich) the waiter responded that they didn't have that, but that she should get a steal platter with french fries instead! First of all... what "Cuban" place does not have pan con bistec? Second of all...She knows what she wants, dont try to switch it up. He looked like he was in a hurry, and told us to take our time deciding on what she wanted instead. Well, we left.... and got a steak sandwich elsewhere! I will not be going back here. Shame on you, Wajiros!

I had eaten here several years ago when the place was under different ownership. You can gauge what I thought of it by the fact that I did not go back for over ten years. I'm glad I went back after my long absence.. Apparently the ownership had changed, and that included a new chef. The food here is superb. Wonderfully tasty Cuban food, and some Cuban-esque gourmet dishes that are creations of the talented chef. Portions are plentiful and, I cannot say this enough, food is delicious. Whether you order soup, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, or entrees, you cannot go wrong. The food is fantastic. The service can be a little slow, and the food sometimes takes a few extra minutes to come out, but I believe it's worth it for the fresh, quality food that tastes so good.

Poor customer service,I waited 45 minutes until finally they took my order then brought me some bread and butter and later the water on the table, also the waiter forgot to bring me a beer I ordered at the beginning when he took my order, then when I remind HIM about it he brought me a beer of another brand that I didn't ask for, and never saw him again, food was brought by another waiter not hot and really not worth of the price I paid for it,there were about 4 waiters at that moment at the restaurant and only five tables occupied with customers and no one of them even come once to ask me if everything was ok or if I wanted more water or offer me more bread while I was waiting for my picadillo con arroz and frijoles negros,a food that most latin restaurants have cook and ready to serve all the time to the customers, definitely a place I'll never go back again

Updating my review after another visit. On September 2nd, 2012, I had previously awarded them 5 stars. The following occured on January 4th, 2013. Though the restaurant was empty except for 4 other souls, the service was slow. I was about to leave. The fork had spots (I ended up dipping it multiple times in my glass of water to clean it). The ordered Churrasco with congris and plantains. For the price ($16.95, the serving portion was small. The congris and plantains was very good. I was extremely disappointed with the Churrasco. It was partially burned and just tasted bad. I left leftover churrasco and spitted out about 1/3 of what I ate. I have grilled better churrasco than this. Either this was a different chef or the steak was bad. I won't returning any time soon. There's other places (Islas Canarias and Palomilla Grill) with good food all the time.

I was starving and this restaurant is near my house so I decided to try it out. I walked in the restaurant to check it out and order takeout. The menu is filled with all types of Cuban food and it all sounded yummy. I ended up ordering congri (rice and black beans) and rotisserie chicken with mojo. I ordered a steak, white rice with platanos for my brother. The lady who took our order was very nice. But the food took way too long. After about 45 minutes I was about to cancel my order when it finally came out. When I finally got home, my food was already cold and my chicken tasted terrible. The only thing I could stomach was the congri and even that wasn't as tasty as other Cuban places I've been to. My brother didn't care for his food either. He had a few bites of his steak, ate the platanos and threw out the rest. I don't think I will be going back to this restaurant again.

I have only eaten there once for breakfast, and it was great food. The service was good as well. Yet I have ordered out for dinner a bunch of times. They deliver in a timely fashion, and are always polite. I'm obsessed with their mariqitas (plantain chips), their pan con bistec, and their chocolate milkshake. never fails.

I discovered this place while just googling a place to deliver cuban food and decided to give it a chance. very delicious delivery, always still hot and better tasting that most nearby cuban establishments. After a few times getting delivery, we decided to go to the restaurant one time for breakfast. what a disappointment. service was slow, cafecito was served at room temperature, as was the food. stick to delivery, and if you order the churrasco- be adamant of how you want it cooked. my stepdad orders his steak welldone, and everytime they only cook it medium. other than that, not too bad at all for latin food in this side of town. Plus, they deliver!

We went with friends - some Hispanic and one pure Gringo who had never tried Cuban food. We had a blast! The food is very authentic and our waiter was excellent. We insisted that everyone order in Spanish and the waiter was patient & helpful with the Gringos in our group. Very casual, great for families.

Interesting restaurant. The whole ceiling cover with old tradition rice bag. Service is really nice compare to most of the other Spanish restaurant I had been. Food was good too. I sure will go back again.

This place is pretty nice. The food is okay. It has its good days and its bad days but if your in the area it wouldn't be a bad choice if you want authentic cuban food.
