We had the opportunity to try Via Verdi's pre-opening dinner. It was delicious, rustic, regional Italian food, and great service, great prices, in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. First we enjoyed a drink in their outdoor bar, which my wife and I could see as a new hangout to drink and munch on antipasti small plates. Once seated, we started with fresh bread/focaccia from the kitchen - their house olive oil was soooo tasty! Out came the tuna Tonnato, a well‑known Italian dish of cold, sliced Veal covered with a creamy, mayonnaise and tuna‑like sauce - delicious! We also shared the octopus and beef tartar - also delicious! For dinner we tried the Iron Chef Scallop Risotto and the truffle pasta. Happy we did!! Scallops were cooked perfectly and the pasta was fresh creamy and truffle-y :-) there's lots of fresh pasta dishes we will go back to try. Everything is traditional with the Carro's signature twists. We loved the flavors, and you could tell the ingredients were top quality. These three extremely professional, talented guys brings a fun, new Italian dining to this booming neighborhood. We will definitely come back, hang out and try more of their menu!

Dinned here a few days ago with my friend. We ordered plenty of delicious apps & a salad, just a lunch. We left so full. We also had a few glasses of Prosecco. The staff was friendly we ate on the deck and we brought a dog with us. They tended to the dogs every need which was extremely nice of them. We also ordered dessert after a simple chocolate Affogato which was a nice meal ended. I will be back I'm going to come back with my Italian friends next time.

I have to say, this is one of the best Italian foods I've ever eaten. The place is good for both a date or just to meet up with friends. You have to try their pasta with freshly shaven truffles. I don't have words to describe how delicious it is - I still dream of this dish :). Their lasagna is also very good. It is not your typical lasagna. This one's actually made with spinach pasta and bechamel sauce instead of tomato sauce. Their appetizers are incredible too. I remember a croquette made out of olives and cheese, meatballs with a tasty sauce, the bread they serve - It is all worth every bite. They have excellent desserts as well. I had the panacotta with passion fruit sauce and loved the slight sweetness and bitterness it had. I'm looking forward to trying their flan and/or tiramisu next time I'm around. The best Italian food by far!

I had 2 experiences at the restaurant. One was 5 stars, the other was 2 stars. The meatball tapa was outstading (both times). First time I was received by one of the owners/brothers. He visited our table throughout the night, made excellent recommendations, and the food was on point. The restaurant felt and executed like it was family-run but expertly refined. My second visit was bland. This time we were attended to by a waitress who didn't seem to know much about the food or have any interest. She could barely explain to you what the specials were. The food was not bad, but bland all around. I will give them another try, but it seems like the restaurant is "moody".

This by far is the best restaurant I've ever eaten at in theMiami area.... The owners have completely transformed and upgraded the quality of the food, the ambiance of the restaurant and the overall service. Every dish we ate was perfect in taste as well as presentation. The owners, management staff and waitresses all made it a point to greet us and speak intelligently about the food. It's refreshing when the people who work there can actually speak to the quality of the food. In conversations the staff recognized we were celebrating and brought us complimentary champagne! Again, the food was excellent and I can't wait to eat there again!! The food had many exceptional twists and flavors. You really savor each bite. The small plate option is great for sharing and its plenty of food...but you don't feel disgustingly stuffed. Great place for a date . Very classy but not intimidating. The staff really care about its patrons..which is hard to find!

Amazing and authentic Italian restaurant serving sensational dishes. I had the quinoa salad which is heavenly. I especially enjoyed the creamy ricotta mousse! The ambience is perfect for a date or any celebration, plus they have great specials and events during the week. The chefs (brothers) are charming and cater to their guests' needs. Whether you want to sit outside and enjoy the scenery or be inside for a more private meal, you will not regret checking it out!

Took a friend out for her birthday, was met with fantastic service. Patio dining is comfortable enough to be inside dining, linen tablecloths, beautiful fresh cut flowers on each table, candlelit and plenty of green plants. The food was out of this world. Possibly the best veal I have ever had, and my friend had seafood pasta dish that was overflowing with fresh seafood. Absolut was doing a 25 year promotion and they came around with complimentary cosmos, perfect drink in perfect glass. Unexpected gift! The appetizers were unique and seasoned to perfection. the end of perfect evening, Happy Birthday sung by staff with candle and a lovely gelato. I am so glad that I chose Via Verdi for my friends birthday dinner!

This place serves the best italian food in Miami to my opinion, their appetizers are amazing and the entrées are very well served, I have been to several italian restaurants but this one is the best, service is average, but you can always see the owners on top of everything which is a good sign that they take care of their place. I have ordered almost everything on the menu and they haven't disappoint me a bit, I recommend ordering the 5 for $23 appetizers it's really worth it.

Very Nice setting, nice romantic tranquil ambience, but the food ? Spectacular!! We tried the "Tagliolini Alba" it's a dish to savor, Simply Delicious!!! I would most definitely recommend..

Had brunch here two weeks ago. Staff couldn't be nicer. Our waiter was actually full Italian. Food was awesome. I ordered off their small plates menu and also their brunch items. Arancini and mozzarella caprese small bites. Their drink menu was great also. Try the Caipiwi - lime, kiwi, and prosecco.

I've come to really enjoy this place as not just a restaurant, but as a great place to hang out with friends. I've been here three times and will be going back soon. While I do not have the best palette, I do enjoy good food. My first visit was strictly martinis. I am by no means a martini guy, so I can't speak for those fans out there. However, as a non-Martini guy, the selection had good breadth for me to find a flavor that I liked. My second visit was what some previous reviewers referred to as tapas, but I think they call them asaggi? Whatever they're called, I enjoyed the 5 for $23 deal. It was worth the money--though, I would not consider them shareable. Sergio's review said it well. I've felt ripped off at other tapas places, but this was definitely not one of them. On my third visit, I had the veal skirt steak which I found delicious. The service was impeccable. Our server was remarkably attentive and knew the items very well, willing to share her opinions when asked. One of the owners even took us on a tour on our first visit. The same owner chased down our car when driving out when my wife forgot our sweater. We were seated near the edge of the outdoor seating part of the restaurant and experienced a couple of flies. Immediately, management and servers converged and put the blinds down which completely cured the issue. It is four stars instead of five stars because I wasn't "blown away." But I, as a casual Joe that likes to spend some money on good food (with an average palette), find this place to be somewhere I'd drive a good distance to dine.

This restaurant has become the measuring stick for all other restaurants and all meals. I write this review after over 15 meals at Via Verdi. ALL my meals have been outstanding. I have introduced the restaurant to my family and my friends. I have recommended this restaurant to every one I know. My favorite, the Steak Tartare. There is no better steak tartare anywhere. Not only is the dish amazing, but the bread with which to share with the dish is #1. The portions are more than perfect. I have tried several pasta dishes. Between my boyfriend, friends, and everyone I have taken to the restaurant, we have probably tried all items on the menu. There is nothing less than delicious. The service is attentive, friendly, everything you want and more. My favorite dessert? The one with nutella and raspberry (tiramusi a close second). I have to say that, my first choice for a night out, is Via Verdi. About me: I am not a foodie, and I find food to be nourishment. Via Verdi is the only restaurant that I recommend and will drive to. The location is not near where I live, but definitely and without a doubt or hesitation, worth the drive, effort and everything else. OUTSTANDING.Via Verdi is always my #1 choice, my only choice.

Great food! Couldn't expect less from the former chefs of Quattro and the mixologist of segafredo. This is my forth time here. I had few "assaggi" all great, polenta, ascolane, meatballs, insalata russa, and bruschetta. My favorite is polenta and meatballs. I had risotto nicola and polpo alla griglia, fantastic. Last time I had meat tartare that was really good as well as spaghetti with vongole. Cocktails are really well done! Great job guys!!

On Sunday evening, myself and a bunch of my Biscayne Corridor neighbors did a Restaurant Crawl on legendary Biscayne Boulevard. The first destination on our crawl was Via Verdi Cucina Rustica and it was a fantastic start to a fun and fabulous evening sampling delicious fare from several restaurants along the boulevard. At 5 pm we descended on Via Verdi, damp and windblown as it was blustery evening! Right away we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The bartender got cracking immediately mixing Aperol Spritz, one of Via Verdi's featured cocktails for us. Wasting no time, servers brought out plates of piping hot, delicious focaccia pizza topped with mushrooms. Yum, yum - it hit the right spot! As we had several other restaurants lined up, we set out to do one drink and a small plate at each place. Based on their focaccia, I must return to Via Verdi for a full dinner! I've heard wonderful feedback about this lovely spot and a glance at the menu whets one's appetite for more.... and more! An ideal spot to dine with friends and savor authentic and innovative Italian food which is fresh and flavorsome! Via Verdi is a relatively new addition (open about a year) to the thriving MiMo restaurant scene. Located at the corner of Biscayne Boulevard and 69th street in a grand, canopied space with ample parking at the back and several dining options. We dined in the bar area which is airy and casual with a friendly, laid back ambience. There's also a terrace for dining alfresco and an indoor dining room. Thank you Via Verdi Cucina Rustica for kicking off our inaugural Restaurant Crawl. We LOVED your restaurant, your friendly staff, delicious cocktail and tasty dish. We shall return!

This won't be a typical review due to the fact that I actually didn't eat anything at this restaurant but hopefully this review will open the eyes of owners and management. I live local and heard great things about this place so my girlfriend and I decided to enjoy an early relaxing dinner. We walked in past 3-4 employees, 2 behind bar and 2 on the floor. We made our way to hostess stand and this is where the wheels fell off the wagon. I stood at hostess stand for a minute or two waiting for hostess or server to assist. Two minutes turned into five, no biggie just wanted a relaxing chill meal. I decided to grab a menu to see what the offerings were. At this point one if the servers walked passed us no less than 3 times. We looked at each other kinda confused on why we weren't be helped. Gave it another minute or 2 and nothing. At that point I was done - walked out through main area past bartenders and servers, not a word was said... Oh well I guess me and my $ will go elsewhere. I have 10 plus years in hospitality business - if I was owner I would fire everyone if I saw this review!! Enjoying wonderful meal at joeys in wynwood. My suggestion... Wake up and pay attention to you restaurant. Bad news travels faster than good

Wow. Stopped to check this place out for lunch while I was in Miami staying nearby. What an amazing restaurant. Very decently priced with their lunch specials and 5 small plates for $23 etc. The small plates my friend and I tried were soooo good. My favourites were the ricotta cheese and the polpettini. For an entree I tried the alba pasta. Can't even explain how good this dish was! Will definitely be stopping in there on my next trip to Miami.

From the moment I stepped foot in the door, the service and level of enthusiasm around the food they prepare is by far the best I've encountering in Miami, if not the world. Fabrizio and Nicola have gone great lengths to make me and my family feel welcome and offer up great wine pairings that have added new Italian wine varietals to our list of wines we enjoy. Their staff is wonderful with my 2 daughters and Christiano is an amazing mixologist and knows how to make a rememberable cocktail to say the least. I'm thrilled to have found this gem. If you want great food, great service, from "real" chefs who have a passion to see you smile, stop by Via Verdi.

I live up the street in Belle Meade and enjoy frequenting the 'hood. On the positive side, this certainly is an improvement over UVA 69, the previous occupant of this space, and the menu selections appear more promising as does the wine/drink list.... It got a facelift and the appearance is more inviting -- BUT it has an awfully long way to go to match the best Italian restaurants in the Miami area. I've lived in and traveled all over Italy, and am a foodie/gourmet cook -- so I do have some idea of what passes for excellent Italian food... and this is not it. Frankly the 4/5 star ratings are surprising, because: - Service is indifferent at best. - The food is about as good as the touristy Italian places on Lincoln Road, which is to say mediocre. I tried several of my favorite appetizers -- all were disappointing! Bottom line: Via Verdi has a very long way to go with regard to the quality of its food and service. I wish it good luck.

First off, kudos for opening in the Upper Eastside. The atmosphere was fantastic! Service was well above average. The server quickly replaced my chipped water glass. I hope you're not hungry... portion sizes are petite for the menu pricing. $3.50 for an 8 oz petite bottle of Diet Coke... The food completely missed the mark. The risotto was gummy but flavorful. The agnolot was quite strange. I had assumed that the beef would've been on the inside of the ravioli, but the ravioli appeared to be cheese ravioli and the braised beef was pureed into the parmesan sage butter sauce which rendered it into a beef smoothie that was the texture and consistency of (well you can imagine) ... brown baby diarrhea. Needless to say, you eat with your eyes first, and I apparently picked the worst item from the menu. The beef flavor was there but the sauce experience was that of a beef smoothie -- fibrous, gritty, dingy brown, gelatinous goo -- imagine throwing a roast in your Vitamix... Because I admire people who open businesses in our area, I will try again, but not until I forget the sight of that pasta.

Services Washington pretty good. Food: Risotto with scallops was more than a dried risotto with a scallop. Appetizer $5 each They will be 2 Dollars for size. Special of the night was gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce it was good MIT the 3 pieces of pasta left me thinking on passing but subway to get a foot long

My parents were visiting from out of town this weekend and since they love Italy and italian food, I decided to bring them to Via Verdi. Everything was amazing-- the food, the wine and the service. The owners, who took the time to come chat with us, are twin brothers from northern Italy and their passion for great food is evident; all the breads, pastas and desserts are made in-house. My favorite dish was the black truffle risotto, which was absolutely exquisite. If you like dessert, the molten chocolate cake was to die for as well. I was in heaven! I highly recommend this place.

I've been to Via Verdi on a wine tasting event. The owners, who were extremely knowledgeable presented the wine selection, and the menu was simple but tasty. Service was excellent, and the decor is simple and unobtrusive.

Seemed like a nice setting but instead noisy Biscayne Blvd facing terrace made it hard to relax with friends at dinner. Food and service proved to be mediocre at best and prices on the high side for this neighborhood. Friendly staff can't help with the lackluster cooking and in the end it's all about the food and overall experience doesn't deserve a repeat visit.

Truly authentic Italian cuisine at its best. Romantic with al fresco dining and a great Italian wine list. The bar area is beautiful and has a knowledgable mixologist. The Aranccini small plate was fantastic. My main course which I highly recommend was the Tagliolini Alba with wild mushroom and Parmesan. The pasta was fresh homemade pasta that just melts in your mouth and left me dreaming about my next encounter. My husband had the Bronzino al forno which was also fresh, delicious and perfectly prepared. Also if you have room for desert DONT MISS the "bunet" its a chocolate amaretti flan with caramel sauce that leaves you begging for more. The owners are two Italian brothers that treat you like family and cater to your every wish. Love this place! Well worth the drive from Broward County. I will definitely be returning many times. It was satisfying, delicious and truly memorable!

Very good tapas style food as well as main dishes. Went there for lunch and was greeted by the owner which was very nice. We had 3 tapas, the house made ricotta, the mozzerella, and the acolane (fried olives stuffed with cheese). The ricotta was deliciously buttery and came with Pane Sardo (Sardinian Bread) which when i was in Italy, i brought back 4lbs of it. We also had a salad called Firenze. Grilled chicken in a bed of spinach and sundried tomatos with a Parmesan dressing. Everything was perfect. The salad wasnt overdressed and everything just popped in your mouth. The overall decor and style was relaxed and very comfortable. Made you feel like you were on a beach in Italy. This place is a must, guaranteed you will fall in love with it.

Love this place! I felt right in Italy, service was superb, from the moment we got there till we left. Everyone from the hostess to the waiter and even the owner made us feel right at home, welcomed. The waiter gave us right on suggestions. Everything we ordered was mouth watering (truffle polenta sticks, arancina, prociutto.... ). The owner came to get some feedback on the food and the service and to let us know about special events. I will definitely come back, MiMo needs more great places like this :)

Best Italian food this side of the Atlantic!! Really. It has been a long time since I have been this impressed with a new restaurant from start to finish. The drinks are second to none. Appetizers were delicious, was hard not to order one of each, I would recommend every thing we had. Then the main course was perfect. I ordered the gnocchi and the risotto as it was hard to choose. My mouth is watering now as I write about the gnocchi, it was simply....awesome. My favorite was the risotto. I will return again and again just for this dish. Can't wait to go back!!!!

Loved it! The space is nicely divided up, with a bar/lounge area with live music on a Thursday evening at 6:30 - what a treat - good voices, too, by the way. A terrific vitello tonnato - hard to find, and this was yummy. I also had the fritto misto as a first course, which was good, but not extraordinary. I will go back to sample more of the menu, hopefully to find a 5 star rating. A very good neighborhood find.

Does not compare to Prima Pasta. I was looking forward to a new restaurant in my neighborhood and my husband and I were sadly disappointed. We started with the meatballs and rice balls and they were very bland. My pasta with clam sauce was way to al dente and lacked flavor all together. It seemed as though it was tossed in salted olive oil and garnished with parsley. I will say the ambiance and staff are all very nice but overall....not a fan and not sure if I would even give it another shot!

I am very dissatisfied whit the service beacuse i was asking regular water and the waiter opened a bottle of plain water, let it go and now spending .three day i realize that the charged me twice the total dinner on my credit card. If a serious restaurant would pass these things do, now i have to question the place and check your account, Are thieves . And if we talk about the food is served boiled

I love to try restaurants in Miami. I am always surprised of the fine cuisine this town offers. This restaurant is not the gem you seek. I had the risotto or should I say soup with sun dried tomatoes. The small plates not worth mentioning. Save yourself some money and do not insult your palette.

Via Verdi is in a great location, has great decor and an even better ambiance. Between the outdoor seating and its location on Biscayne Blvd. where you hear the cars passing by and feel the breeze from the day, the ambiance was set despite being one of three tables. The service could have been quicker noting that again, there were only three tables but I was having a good time and again, the ambiance made me accept it. Our server was very nice and knew a lot about the dishes. The food is italian and nothing special. Honestly, i'd say the place is great for drinks and a quick bite. I went with my family for Mother's Day and tried every person's dish and none were that special or memorable, I actually don't even remember what I ate but I do remember that it didn't have much flavor. The bar and surrounding high tops are adorable and the food is passable if you're more focused on just meeting with friends and not depending much on the dishes. Oh and I almost forgot, they have the best gelato!!! I had a pistachio with chocolate mix and it was delicious and presentation is adorable. Overall, this place is a great spot to go to and between the location, ambiance and service (and gelato) you're sure to leave satisfied.

Excellent restaurant and good value; even native Italians compliment its authenticity; easy to park, comfortable setting; certain nights offer 50% off for wine by bottle which helps. A fine destination away from crowds.

Went here 830pm with my wife and son to try it out. From the start the service was bad. waited almost 15 min before someone took our drink order. i siggest you bring a flashlight to read the menus. Imagine i had to download a flashlight app to read thee freakin thing..Increase the lighting just a bit! We recieved a measely bread basket with just one piece of french/italian bread, the rest foccacia. im not a huge fan of foccacia bread-waitress stated they ran out of the good bread--ahhhhh..HELLOOOOOO! Basic necessity in an italian restaurant is to have delicious fresh baked bread to sop up all the sauces. We had pasta dishes and really nothing worthwhile espectacular here, and the drinks from the bar were suspect as well. Anyways, for better italian, just go down the street a bit.

This time tried the cheese and prosciutto with a glass of red wine... omg it was a dance party in my mouth. Then went on to have the filet with mushrooms.... WOW! Love this place for a romantic dinner. OH and please try the FLAN! Words cannot describe the punch of flavor --absolutely delicious!

The ambiance is good, service also good. The food is ok... To big to be a tapa to small to be a dish... Very expensive when comparing with food quality, portions and prices with the restaurants around that area. I'm a local, don't mind to pay if it is very good but unfortunately there is no value for the money.

Food was very good. Eggplant parm was excellent. Mushroom ravioli was very fresh and was delicious. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars but the lasagna tasted good but we had two orders that were served warm to cold. And the chocolate cake was dry. Atmosphere was pleasant. They have plenty of outside seating but we sat inside tonite. Good noise level. Not loud like places on the beach. This is a place that you can take a first date or the whole family with kids. And last but not least the prices are very reasonable.

Had PPP soup- mushroom purée was delicious but they add peas and pasta which was an odd combination. The shrimp pasta dish we ordered seemed to have canned shrimp. Finally, we ordered a swordfish dish that was supposed to come with shrimp. The last dish tasted like a croquette- only worse. With so many other great restaurants on the Blvd- this pales in comparison. If you want good Italian, check out Cafe NiDo!

This place was surprisingly delightful. The ambience was excellent, charming and romantic. Thursday nights is 50% off wine bottles, which is a great deal. The food was also quite good. The polenta was to die for, and the bruschetta mixed the perfect amount of crunchy bread with peppers. The meatballs were also quite good, and a bit spicy, which I liked. The kick was really nice. We also got the lasagna, which was very tasty. The only thing that didn't wow me was the mozzarella, and it's not that it wasn't good - it was fine. It's just that, it wasn't anything special, like all the other good we had. I definitely recommend this place!

Great service. My husband had the ravioli and I had the scallops with risotto. Both were delicious. I like the portion size...not oversized. The wine pours were a little bit light. Overall, a nice experience. We sat outside, but not on the boulevard. The boulevard is a bit noisy.

THE REAL DEAL, THIS IS A REAL RESTAURANT, meaning a place you go to eat (not feed yourself), you can relax, enjoy the great effort and attention to details, NOT JUST MERE GOOD BUT STIFF SERVICE. and really appreciate really good food and ..... great drinks. Now I explain the above. I really, and I mean really, enjoy eating, for this reason most of the time I have to cook at home, because it is not easy to find a restaurant that can delivery this with the simplicity that is supposed to be especially when you want to have regularly a good and enjoyable meal. I am not saying that there are not good restaurant in Miami, but the few good ones are normally very formal, a little stiff and generally very expensive. ( I am not gonna make names). Via Verdi, food wise, is comparable to any upscale places in miami, but is a simple place (in the most positive meaning) where anyone can enjoy great food and amazing drinks. If someone is really into food and not bullshit (not sure I can write that) this is the place. If someone is really smart and can see a little further than his own nose, this is the place. If someone care more about enjoying real food, more than being fooled around by overwhelming so called good service normally just cold and impersonal, Via Verdi is the place. Well all this just to say good job to Via Verdi to bring excellent food, great drinks, nice atmosphere...... this is the place that can be anyone "cantina" or your home dining room outside your house. BIG THUMB UP !!!!!!!!!

Amazing new place in the Mimo area! I had never been to UVA 69 when it was there before but I definitely wanted to try this place when it opened. They have an amazing happy hour 7 days a week!!! 4-8pm, 5 tapas for $23 and amazing cheap drinks that are good sized too. They have an amazing mixologist, the drinks are amazing! The ambiance is awesome, romantic, airy, outdoors and just plain fabulous! I will definitely become a regular here!

The experience started out with a really good, knowledgeable server who knew the menu and enticed us on the selection. Her recommendation for the wine was excellent. The portions for the appetizers were small but are tidbits to enjoy with the first sips of the wine. The bread was bland and cold . The roasted beet salad was flavorful but I could not tell what the basis for the sauce on the bottom of the plate but it had a cheese consistency. The braised beef short ribs were a nice portion and not fatty. Meat was very tender. The lasagna was well presented and flavorful. The only disappointment was the mushroom filled ravioli. The ravioli was not hot, the filling was so thin that it was lost in the ravioli pasta which was chewy. Tried the desserts and the only one that was disappointing was the hazel nut chocolate cake with vanilla sauce. Needed more sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Cake was dry as if a day old. What caused the rating to be lower is that there was on the bill a mysterious water charge. We asked for regular water and the water was poured from a pitcher that was being used by the server as she passed through the dining area. On the bill, there was a $4.00 filter water charge. This was wrong as it was not on the menu that there is a water charge for tap water, it should be listed. This gouge on the part of the owners, made a end of the meal influence our groups decision, not to return. WARNING: CHECK YOUR BILL AT THIS RESTAURANT FOR CHARGES NOT ON THE MENU

Went for dinner with friends on Sunday night. From the moment we walked in we loved it. Service was great and the food was fantastic. I had the mozzarella (so fresh) with tomatoes and for my main corse I had the Lasagne it was to die for. After our meal we had the tiramisu and coffee. Everything was just great!! We will be back soon. They also have a very good Miami Spice Menu. They have a very nice outdoor bar area but we say inside.

Good wines from all over italy.octupus to die for, tender and well combined with the hummus.we went for beef ravioli, not one of my favorite i have them better before.the fried calamaries was one of the specials was cook to perfection. Therefore service?,upss, the guy was trying to be attentive, but he couldn't because he was always running like a chicken without head .the restaurant wasn't busy soo we just realized that he was just focus on clear plattes not into conversation or paying attention to costumer necessities.i will go there again, but i will skip the running chicken.the owner is always there i dont why he doesn't check on clientele.

Another wonderful Mimo restaurant. I love so many things about via verde. Here are a few: the setting, the restaurant is almost entirely outdoors but in a covered patio so you get the best of both worlds. The service - it's run by the Caro brothers and their friend and business partner and it feels like a real family owned restaurant. The owners are always out front (except the chef) and they are welcoming, friendly, fun, and love to chat with the guests Truffles! Are you a fan like me? Well as they come from Piemonte and this restaurant focuses on piemontese cuisine, they are in everything! Ah the smell alone is intoxicating let alone the fresh shaved truffle Specials - Monday all small plates are half off and Thursday all wine is half off. Brunch - bottomless mimosas for $19 with some original flavors, don't miss the kiwi concoction. Wine dinners - their wine selection and special occasion wine dinners are well thought out with some new flavors and surprises. The wine dinners are in a charming private room. In can't always tell where this restaurant physically begins and ends and I think it's intentionally done to blend into the scenery like your favorite Italian trattoria.

I have gone twice to via Verdi. Once was for my mother's birthday and another for brunch. The first time around I did it right and ordered a couple of assagis : polenta fries with truffle cheese sauce was delicious , as was the ricotta with crustini and arancini. The lemonade I had was one of the best I've ever tasted. For entrees we got the tortellini ( amazing !) The risotto ( good but nothing too out of the ordinary) and the short rib ( excellent). We were too stuffed for dessert. Cocktails were also very good. The second time we went for brunch we were very disappointed. The eggs Benedict ( benedittina) were lackluster with a slither of salmon..not worth the price or wasting your precious calories. It came with potatoes .. Not many and not very crispy. There was also barely any kale. Our friends entrees were equality disappointing. My bloody Mary was good with a strip of candid bacon ! But my husband had the green bloody Mary... Did not like that at all but it was good to try something a little different. All in all a lesson learned. Go for the pasta and what they were known for...

Had a great experience. Went there for the first time. I called in advance to see if I could bring my dog. They were accommodating. Food was great. Service was excellent. And the prices are very good as well. Very chill restaurant. Must try! They talked to us about their special events etc. we will be back for sure

After receiving a pamphlet by mail we oredered by phone for delivery last night. The pamphlet says we deliver every day until 10 pm We live 2 blocks away from the restaurant. They said they dont deliver, so we ordered to puck up. We ordered Lasagna and Tortelli (12$ each one ) When my husband went there to pick up they charged him 16 $ each plate + tax + tip.....instead of 12 ++. The food was delicious but portions were small. To conclude food is a 10 service ( delivery and respect of prices) is a 5

NPS = 6 Thank God we were here for 50% off Monday's. I would've lost it if they had charged us double of what we paid for what we had. I feel like the 50% off is more of a gimmick than anything because you end up paying the same amount you would at any restaurant for the same food. It's not a SPECTACULAR savings like they announce, but the price ends up being fair for what you get. The food was good. But definitely order pasta. I ordered the branzino ($26 by the way for regular price) and I was served a small filet with two (yes, two) broccolinis. I still feel like I overpaid for what I had at $13. It left me hungry. The pasta my girlfriend had was fantastic. Stick to pasta, you can't go wrong. The service, now, could definitely use some work: *I had to get up to get my own olive oil since no one was around. *I had to waive down another waitress for balsamic vinegar. *We ran out of water and had to wait for a couple of minutes for someone to pass by to ask for a refill. Overall, the people were nice but I just wish they would have been more attentive. And this review is definitely based on the 50% off Monday's because had I paid double what I paid for what I got, I would've been rather upset. If the portions remain the same at the full price, this restaurant definitely has to revise its menu/prices or risk losing business with so many other restaurants on Biscayne.

Very nice clean modern look. I sat outside where they have a big fan than makes it nice and breezy. I was recommended a nice Italian white wine that was really really good. Had the simply spaghetti with meat sauce... There was nothing simple about it!! Simply amazing!!! Very tasty and delicious. Can't wait for my next cheat day to come backvery friendly staff ( i think he's one of the owners)

Went here for brunch on a Sunday with a group of 10. The décor is charming and cozy. The service is questionable and this place isn't nearly as busy as most on a brunch day in Miami. The bottomless is $25 and there about 8-10 drinks included in the bottomless that are awesome! I tried the Pimms & Melon Mule which were A-Okay! For my meal I chose the in-house made tagliolini with wild mushrooms in truffle sauce and my plate was voted top pick by the table! It def hit the spot. Some downfalls however I would give it another go. - Never received the balsamic beet salad I ordered - The hummus does not come with bread or pita chips not even celery we had to ask for something to eat it with - they should advertise the brunch better because I do think it is one of the best deals in town - the bloody mary is not included on the bottomless list (smart business move)

Great little Italian restaurant on Biscayne. Owners are very attentive, service was great!!! The olive oil they use is one of the most tasty I've ever had (Casale 3 Danesi). The porcini ravioli with black truffle, oh my, words can't describe!!!! This place will not disappoint. Monday nights meals are half off and Thursday nights bottles of wine are half off - take advantage of the deals!!!!

Wow. I gotta tell y'all: via verdi really does it right. All of it. The food, the drinks, the ambiance, the value... It's all on point. More specifically, don't miss the grilled octopus with garbanzo beans (basically healthy). You can't go wrong with any of the pastas. Personally my favorite way to eat here is to order a few apps and small plates and share. The cocktail menus are out-of-control-impressive and I've yet to try a drink that disappointed. I LOVE the aperol/bitter cocktails. Que balance! Even knowing the bar manager hails from the quintessential cocktail bar, Segafredo, the adult beverages are still impressive. But perhaps the most exciting part of this venue is the utterly sincere hospitality effused from every direction. These guys are here, there, and everywhere. Every day of the week, any time of day, the owners are true hosts. That's worth five stars, friends. I'm not going to tell you the details, but if you like what you read and are budget-conscious, you might want to learn more about their specials and promotions. Hint, hint;) Bottom Line: My current favorite go-to resto for groups small and large, VV hits it out of the park.

Went on a Sunday afternoon. Only two tables, yet the service was pretty slow. Had the truffle pizzeta, which was good. Spaghetti alla Vongole way too salty, couldn't finish it. Linguini Mare was a bit spicy. Overall, food is good but not great and a bit pricey. I'd give it a second chance.

We've been coming here since they opened and have never had a disappointing experience. The owners are sweet & friendly. They are great chefs who know how to prepare authentic Italian cuisine. The restaurant is nice and you can sit inside or outside depending on your personal preference. Favorites: non ossobuco, the truffled raviolis, beef carpaccio, crispy olives, the new puff pastry appetizer filled with cheese. The mushroom pasta is a great choice for vegetarians. Super tasty. The crispy chocolate bar desert is addicting! Beware!

This is our third time now at Via Verdi, every time the service tops the previous. We were just turned away from another restaurant nearby (Big Fish, due to the presence of our dog), so the welcome we recieved couldnt have come at better time. The chef and his twin brother (owners) couldn't be more accommodating. The wine list is heavy on Italian (dah) but selection is awesome. Very affordable Burnellos and Barolos. Can't wait to go back again.

This is such a cute little place tucked away in what's considered little Haiti. One of the three owners is always there and is very attentive to his patrons needs. I went with two girlfriends on a Thursday night and we had wonderful appetizers with a very decent selection of wines 50% off and home-made pasta dishes. They had live music too, which was such a nice touch. The ambience is casual dressy and jovial. We chose to sit outside and the breeze and lights made it very pleasant. I loved the whipped Gorgonzola, the bruschetta, the meatball, the arancini and the truffle pasta. Very good!! Make sure you ask for the Casale Tre Danesi olive oil - it's outstanding!!! They also have a little wine cellar next door where they have wine and olive oil tastings on occasion. That's on my to do list.

Prosciutto and Bloody Mary ! The drink was very watery and I just felt the taste of tomato juice and Tabasco ... My second course was a beef tartar but it felt like ground meat with celery. My father here in the picture had an amazing file mignon with sautéed spinach (very juice and well seasoned)

Great food, friendly service, reasonable prices, and the place is not overly packed. It's hard to find much negative to say about this place. They had truffle shaved burrata on special the night we went. While expensive ($40), it was a near perfect dish that was balanced and quite flavorful. The thin sliced veal with tuna mayo sauce was tasty as well. It is not the most visibly appealing dish, but it tastes great. Imagine a really delicious tuna salad and you are close. The lamb ragu was also very good. It was one of those dishes that is layered with flavor and kind of changes in your mouth as you eat it. The lobster spaghetti was on special as well. How can you not like lobster spaghetti? The pasta used was top notch. All this for under $150 including tip too. Just an across the board solid meal. Recommend.

Like a lot of Miamians I thought the actual translation of tapas was "ripping you off with small plates of food". However, the well seasoned plates at Via Verdi changed that definition. I've stopped by two Fridays and have left satiated both times. The first time I went for their 5 for $23 tapas special, and ordered lasagna as well (going with my first explanation). Well, I had to have them cancel the lasagna order! Of the tapas I ordered, my favorites were the arancini (nicely packed with rice, mozzarella and peas), the mini caprese and deliciously smoky speck. I wasn't thrilled with the meatballs, though, since they seemed a touch dry. However, the vanilla pannacotta was perfectly soft and with a sweet taste that lingered. One of the owners came by my table to say hello which is appreciated. I returned yesterday, repeating my favorite tapas from the prior visit and ordering the mozzarella stuffed ravioli. Prettied up with food coloring, tomato slices and balsamic vinegar, the portion was large enough I had to leave some. I closed my meal yesterday with the cherry pannacotta, nicely stuffed with cherries and a tart sauce. As far as ambiance, I liked the mixed 90s music the first time. I didn't notice any music yesterday though. Despite it being right on a main thoroughfare, the owners did a nice touch with the little candles.

If we had half stars this place would be a 3 1/2 for me. My daughter had seen pictures of their food on Yelp (of course) and she wanted us to go. They have their own parking lot in the back which is great because there is no other parking in the area. They have a very long bar outside on the side of the restaurant. Plenty bar stools to belly up or for a more cozy time, they also have couches with tables. They have a very lovely patio outside to dine. After we sat I needed to use the restroom so I walked inside the restaurant. Very small and intimate inside with just a few tables inside. The decor is very nice with plenty of large format wine bottles decorated throughout and a cute Italian decor. The restrooms are actually located behind the bar area outside down a hallway. Strange but it works, the restrooms are decorated nicely and very clean. Our server took our wine order and brought over water. The wine list is OK. Award winning is what they claim but I beg to differ. We did order a nice bottle of Sangiovese that was priced fair. We started with some fresh mozzarella, prosciutto and Arancini, each for $5. Nice sized portions and really liked that you could try different dishes for only $5 or five for $23. The bread basket came out and the fresh Foccacia was very good. Mozzarella was fresh just would have preferred slices of tomatoes instead of the small cherry tomatoes. The Proscuitto was excellent and the Arancini with the side of Marinara sauce was good. They offer pasta dishes for a main entree, veal, chicken and some fish specials as well. The prices are average for an Italian restaurant. I decided to try their Lasagna with a Bechemel sauce. The Lasagna was super tasty but because they bake it, it came out very dry where the Bechemel sauce was baked into the Lasagna. I asked for a side of Marinara sauce and the server looked a bit irritated. The marinara sauce made it much better. At first glance the portion looked quite small but it was plentiful. The food is solid here. It is a very lovely restaurant but honestly the noise from Biscayne Blvd. is a bit much. Sitting there trying to enjoy a nice dinner and all you here are horns, tires screeching and all the heavy traffic noise. Next time I would opt to sit inside to get away from all the noise.

Came here on a Saturday night with the hubs. The place is very well situated on the corner of 69th and biscayne. Parking is easy (parking is available at the bank across the street). There wasn't much ambiance. A few couples; someone with their dog at the outdoor bar. The food was excellent. We had a few apps. Their speck was good (not chewy). Arancini was fresh, but under salted and resembled a croqueta instead of a golden little sphere. The mimo eggs were to DIE FOR as was the Gorgonzola. They had a risotto special with black truffles. A little too salty, but very rich and decadent. This would make a great appetizer to share amongst 2-4 people (depending how hungry you are- again it was very rich). The pasta a la vongole was the star of the night. Pasta perfectly al dente paired with Clams that were cooked beautifully in a brothy garlicky sauce. Food gets 4 stars. Service was meh. Our server was nice, but just not attentive. He wasn't rude but didn't respond to any gestures of friendliness on our end. The food came and no one was in sight to offer fresh pepper or Parmesan. My husband was pouring our wine every single time. There were only 3 tables that were occupied at that time- it's not like the server was in the weeds. Service- 2.5 stars. If Management doesn't provide support to their wait staff(either physically helping them or hiring staff that have a little more pep in their step, this place will not survive the Miami crowd! Doubtful I will return.

I can't think of anything about Via Verdi that isn't great - First, kudos to the Chefs/Entrepreneurs who put together the idea to fuse a martini bar and a casual northern Italian restaurant in the developing area north of Midtown. Second, the restaurant has several environments depending on the mood you are in: - the bar is open and airy, and you can enjoy a masterfully crafted cocktail and the full menu. It's a great place to watch a sporting event, or just to chill out. The guys at Via Verdi do a lot of events and get togethers, which keeps it interesting. - there is a very large outdoor patio for dining outside in the fresh air - there is a nice sized, cool dining room in case it's hot outside - there is a romantic two person table inside the wine cantina, in case you want a romantic setting for the night (you probably want to call well ahead to reserve that table). Third, the service is excellent - the staff is well trained, knows the food, is cordial and friendly, and all of them seem to speak Italian, English and Spanish. So you can't go wrong. Also, you will see one of the Chef/Owners walking around at almost all times, checking on the tables and providing recommendations. Forth, and this is a big one - FREE AMPLE PARKING. Yes, there is a free parking lot with approximately 20 spaces directly outside the restaurant. Where have you seen that lately in Miami? No obnoxious valet to deal with.... no over aggressive ticket cops waiting to give you a ticket 2 minutes after your parking expires. No tow truck mafia waiting to tow your car at any moment for some invented infraction. You can enjoy your meal and wine without worry. Who needs South Beach when you've got Via Verdi? And finally the most important thing - the cuisine. The guys that opened this place are the same guys that were the executive chefs at Quattro on Lincoln Road - so you can expect the same very high food quality and some new menu items as well. I actually saw an episode of Iron Chef that they were on! Fresh burrata cheese, seasonal dishes (truffles anyone?), a great wine selection... awesome. I would be remiss to neglect to mention the resident mixologist/owner - try the Italian Mojito - you won't regret it (ok you might regret it the next morning, but that's a different story......)

I came here when the place just opened and although the experience was not a bad one, place had no charm nor character and there was a "I know it all" attitude that was not calling for a comeback. I have seen the owners around town and was invited to come back and recently did for a great "aperitivo" with friends... The place, although a bit noisy from the adjacent Biscayne Blvd. has improved and the inside is now much warmer and inviting. Today I tried lunch and enjoyed a lovely Spaghetti Clams dish at the bar outside, nicely prepared, (good little clams and no sand a plus) accompanied by an arugula salad for a fair price. Parking available behind the building and courteous service are another plus in this pleasant and genuine Northern Italian establishment. Will be back soon...

I think it's a refreshing little place for this neighborhood. It's all nightclub-like at night, which makes it (for the majority of young-uns going out) more trendy than other close by Italian joints like Ni Do. It's a great place to have a nice, full meal or just go for happy hour with friends. I hope this place sticks around!

  • Liliana Z.

Nice ambiance, excellent friendly service and great fresh ingredients. We had the mozzarella burrata with prosciutto di Parma to start, it was served with cherry tomatoes on a bed of lettuce, it had a little bit of basil but I think a little more would have enhanced the taste even more. Both the burrata and the prosciutto were extremely fresh and of the greatest quality. As main entrees we had the fungi risotto and the special truffle ravioli (served with natural truffles shaved table side), the portions were not huge but the preparation and quality are superb. The prices are a bit on the higher end on the specials (Truffle raviolis about $30 and the burrata with prosciutto about $22) but the regular menu is a bit more moderate (about $16-19 for pasta or risotto).

Owner always there but never checked on us. Customer service slow. Had to wait for bread, balsamic, fork et. Busgirl accidentally spilled balsamic and oil all over me, she was nice, accidents happen but owner or manager never came to apologize. At the end owner offered to bring from sunny isles my Lacoste shirt next day to wash it for me. Was rude and cheap. I asked to take off desert of the bill. Owner was greedy and gave me hard time with it. No one say good by or thank you. They added 22% tips without even asking. Atmosphere was bad no people on Friday night, very loud music so it was hard to converse. Never going to come again. They destroyed my evening and expensive clothes. My wife was very upset. And it's very overpriced with really bad service.

Via Verde has really good Italian food! the service is also very good, the prices are more than fair for the quality, and the restaurant has a very nice trendy design. throw in plenty of street parking and how could you go wrong. we had a lamb ragu pasta, and a porchini mushroom trouffle papardelli pasta, with a side of brocolini, yummy!! luckily for us, our former neighbors recommended this restaurant

This is the typical neighborhood restaurant you have to visit almost weekly! They offer incredible food at a great value. Food is authentic... my favorite Gnocchi Di Pomodoro (sad they switched them to regular gnocchi, even though new ones taste good the old ones were just impeccable). Highly recommended for a family night out, romantic/casual dinner and even for just take-out!

Authentic food from Piemonte region in Italy. Good selection of wines and they also have a good sparkling water. Is a great place for groups. Our menu consisted of polenta, typical appetizers, risotto (cooked 'al dente') and 'lesso' meat with polenta. Highly recommended if you are in Miami. I have not given 5 stars because inside the room temperature was a little high, but I was sitting close to the door that takes you to the outside patio and I kept it open to get some fresh air come in.

Came here last night for happy hour/dinner with my boyfriend, and we had a great meal in the lovely outdoor terrace. All of the food was really tasty. I love that they offer a mix and match tapas platter or allow you to get light bites on their own for $5 each (order $5 and it's $23). While everything was pretty good (mozzarella, speck, polenta sticks, meatballs, and arancini) the standout item was the meatball app. These veal meatballs were rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. My boyfriend said next time he showed up he'd probably just order a platter of meatballs. To eat I ordered the octopus app, and my boyfriend the risotto with sundried tomatoes and basil. While the risotto was a little soupy, it had amazing flavor and the rice was perfectly cooked. The octopus was also tasty and well done - paired with chickpeas, a bit of hummus, cherry tomatoes and a lemony vinaigrette. The service was attentive; we even had one of the owners come around to talk to us about the style of food and make sure we were having a good time. Some suggestions: -Work on happy hour! Even though it's nice to see a happy hour that runs until 8, our server didn't mention it at all when we sat down, and when I heard the specials I understood why. No beer specials (?!), $6 wine and signature cocktails. Pretty meh if you ask me. This could be a great happy hour spot (especially with tapas style bites on the menu, & the great outdoor seating), but they really have to be a little more interested in making a compelling offer for that to work. -The one thing that was really off about this experience was that we were listening to 90's R&B the entire time. It wasn't loud, but it was so out of place that we kept commenting on it. Really strange...

Came on a Thursday, which, by the way, is half-off bottles of wine. In the mood for Italian food- this is an authentic choice- the owners are two brothers who came here from Italy and have a thick Italian accent. My fav small dish was the polenta fries, and the bread (wow!)! Main dish: ronata al forno - don't ask any questions, just order it...if you're a cheese lover. Owners were visible and stopped by the table- great energy. Great experience, great ambience. Will without a doubt return for a second go-around. There is parking around the corner in what almost looks like someone's back yard. Tip: When the waiter comes with the shaved parmesan, grab your tiny plate, place 3 tablespoons of oil and let him shave the fresh parm onto the oil. Take your fork, store that bad boy up, and dip your bread in there. You're welcome. Great place for a date with outdoors seating, too.

Thanks, Yelp! We tried this place on Yelp's recommendation, and it was outstanding. Our food was excellent: like meatballs (breaded meatballs!) and a delicious pasta in porcini & truffle cream sauce - YUM. My husband's excellent "Biscayne" sandwich was accompanied by a simple, fresh arugula salad...menu items are sophisticated - but not complicated; simple and delicious!

Seven of us had dinner tonight. Everything was delicious and the service was great. We really enjoyed the lasagna, spaghetti with clams and the gnocchi. Great gelato and sorbet for dessert (try the pineapple which is served in a pineapple). Nice covered outside seating which stays dry even if it rains (a nice perk if you want to bring your dog). Overpriced!!!! Way over priced. Portions incredibly small. Ambiance was cozy. That is about all that is nice about this place. Food was average. If it wasn't for the cute waiter with a Mohawk the evening would have been an entire waste.

A beautiful Italian place run by real Italians. These guys are so warm and welcoming it makes for a lovely dining experience. After you take part in the Apperitivos, meats and cheeses, go for the pasta!!! Tagliolini pasta with mushrooms is a must. The short rib ravioli is a favorite as well. The main courses fall a bit short, but the pasta is what we come for. The cocktail menu is quite long for an Italian restaurant... Which is a nice change. Most of all, these guys will Remember you the next time you come in.

Went with a small group, and got to try about 1/3rd of the menu. They had a pizza on special that was covered in white truffles, and was probably our favorite appetizer. Favorite pasta was the strazzopreti, a thicker, kind of chewy pasta, with a braised veal red gravy. For dessert, a Nutella cheesecake. Delicious. Will definitely return.

I almost don't want to review this place because I want it to be a hidden gem. I loved it so much my first experience at brunch that I went back 2 more times for dinner within the same month. I typically do not gravitate towards italian restaurants but thats cause I don't like bad overpriced italian food, which has been my experience in Miami. This place has freshly made pasta, very knowledgable staff and the owner brings out his black truffles to shave them onto your dish. It is very authentic, the chef and owners are form Italy and their cocktails are delicious too. I have had their eggs benedict with truffle cream along with an aperol spritzer and for dinner their mushroom ravioli special with truffles. My husbands lasagna was amazing too, not your american style boring meat lasagna. The cherry cheesecake was great too. Can't wait to go back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
