This is a small, cozy Thai place in a shopping strip with lots of small eateries. The service was friendly and the food was good, but not Tani Thai amazing. Prices are great though and it seems that the restaurant has a good clientele. I would recommend that you check it out if you're in the area and don't want to pay too much for Thai.

Great food, good service... tiny place but definately worth coming to eat here... no refills on the soda, prices are pretty good for miami

My wife and I love this little restaurant. It has great vegetarian dishes for me. It also has awesome soups and my wife and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Rock a Bangkok serves my favorite Chicken Fried Rice, Panang Curry and Pad Thai in all of Miami. I have tried those dishes at dozens of places and R.B. makes ot exactly how I like it. Let me preface that by saying that when I eat one of those dishes, I eat all three. Something about the flavors and textures of all three when combined really makes for a perfect dish. The Pad Thai here (I usually order Chicken) is more of a tomato-based flavor. Very different from Pei Wei or PF Changs (which is awful IMO). The place feels small but in reality they have about 30-40 seats, not small at all. The service is always attentive whether dining in or taking out. I enjoy an Iced Coffee from here every now and then- actually I'm going to go get one right now while I wait for my take out order at Fujiya! haha! BRB ...

This place will likely become my go-to local Thai place. Went a couple nights ago with friends and had Thai dumplings (ok), spicy shrimp hot pot (good, sour, not spicy), and all of us ordered curry. Everyone walked away extremely full--even I did, and I had leftovers. Prices are fair, and service is warm. Warning, green curry is extremely authentic and the paste is made in house. It is at first, quite acrid and jarring, but the dish opens up as you eat. I will be back for the Fried banana "thai style," which I am sure will both intrigue and delight me.

I love the food here! I've dined in and taken to go. Its always hot and delicious. The Three Karat Chicken is perfect. I like to pair it with Fried Rice or something soft like noodles. The only reason I would knock off 1 star is because the decor needs a serious remodel...but potentially bringing down their rating would only deter future customers and I would like the opposite to happen so they'd have the $$ to remodel. The Chicken Pad Thai is FANTASTIC. The Chicken Panang Curry is different from Moon's but equally delicious! The Egg Fried Rice is simple and yummy! Grab a Thai Iced Coffee to go!

Tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday. The restaurant is small and managed by a polite staff. It has an authentic feel and their menu is quite extensive. I really liked that they had pictures of a lot of the dishes on their menu (photos are a big help when I want to try a new dish). Everything was well priced and portions were generous. I had the Pad Thai and my companion had a chicken and broccoli dish. We both really enjoyed our meals and left stuffed and satisfied! Definitely will be dining here again!

Fairy small place in a local shopping center in Kendall. This is the kind of place where food is the main host and nothing else. Does not pretend to be anymore than this, and is good at its core. Decor is simple, would say it looks as if their best days already passed. As i said, this is the kind of place where you come because of the food. The restaurant is managed and attended by their owners and they attend the guests well. Thai menu is large with several options and special dishes. They have also the special of the day. I asked for a big thai shrimp soup and a salad (thai salad) The soup was delicious. Well balanced, just mildly spicy so it blended very well and uplifted the flavors of the broth. I would go back if i am near the area for sure.

Had a good experience here, today. The two women working were friendly and interactive with my daughter. They were also very attentive and checked in often. The greeted everyone who walked in, said goodbye and thank you to everyone who walked out. The price for lunch meal was great $8.99 for soup or salad, a spring roll, and shrimp pad thai. I enjoyed all of it. The place itself is oddly decorated. Chairs have bows and cloth very much like the ones seen at social events back in the day. The table clothes on the tables are stained which makes them look dirty. The also have an odd wall paper in back and painting which looks a bit crappy. All in all, I would come back here for lunch. Not a place for dinner or lunch meeting in my eyes, but definitely good for quick bite at reasonable price.

Friends introduced me to this fine establishment and I've eaten here once and gotten take out once. Mind you, I never come to Kendall or live anywhere near it but now, when I have to be in Kendall, my mouth starts watering for this place. Three carrot chicken. That is all you need. Ok, pair it with some veggie rice and a Tom _ _ soup of your choice and that's enough for two. Take out or dine in, the service is friendly and fast either way. You won't be disappointed as long as you just order what I say to.

What a precious place. We had three appetizers: squid, beef salad, and spring rolls, all flawless. Served with kindness and attention. The squid had that cross hatched pattern which is labor intensive to prepare, but results in a more pleasant texture, which holds onto sauce. Little details like that are appreciated. Next, we had shrimp in basil sauce. The shrimp were ever so slightly overcooked, but it didn't take away from the overall excellence. I would gladly return here. The menu is huge and sure to please.

Not sure what the hype is about this restaurant? I went there based on reviews and was a bit disappointed. Ordered the shrimp fried rice and steamed dumplings for take out. The portion of rice was sooo small, there was no flavor, no spice as mentioned in other reviews and the shrimp came with tails on. It was completely bland. I actually had to add salt to the rice to give it some flavor. I enjoyed the dumplings and liked how they came with cilantro sprinklings. Not sure if I would order from them again.

Very good food but they brought me the wrong dish!!!! It was spicy and they didn't replace it, I guess they were tired cause we went 30 minutes before closing..

Look, let's be honest. I'm sure there a hundred Thai restaurants in South Florida. I haven't been to them all. But this is the best one that I've been to. And every one I go to has the daunting task of beating Rock A Bangkok. First and foremost, the staff has always been ridiculously friendly and warm, whether you're a regular or not. It's never without its customers, but I've never been there and not been seated right away. It's not too big though, so I probably wouldn't go with a group bigger than 6ish, at least not without calling ahead first just to make sure. But, now to the most important part...the food. Wow. My go to is always the Three Karat Chicken. Sweet but not too sweet, and crunchy, with good veggies in there as well, I can't not order this. But their menu is big and will have you perusing for a while. Soups are great as a starter, I especially like good ol Tom Kha with chicken. Fish cakes are also a good starter although they don't always have them, but definitely worth asking and maybe you'll get lucky. Pricing is very reasonable. Take out is an option too, and I liked how when you do take out, they take the time to go over your order with you to ensure everything is correct. If there's a better Thai place around, I haven't found it yet. Enjoy!

This place is adorable. I love the traditional Thai decor. Service was polite and quick. We had the chicken and beef BBQ skewers that came with a little personal grill with fire to add pizzazz to the experience. My boyfriend had the duck volcano. It was delicious especially considering it was my first time having duck. The presentation was exquisite. I had the coconut soup, unfortunately it wasn't good in my opinion. I couldn't handle the floral taste of coconut in my soup.

It's always nice to find an authentic restaurant and this place is the real deal! Very friendly and professional. Although I took my order to go the restaurant appeared very clean and simple. The food was delicious! Very flavorful and appealing to the eye. I am not quite sure why Thai food is so expensive, but I guess you pay for quality. I would gladly return even though I think they're a bit pricey. The Chicken Pad Thai and the Shrimp Fried Rice are amazing! The fried dumpling are also great! Give them a try!!

They have the best Chicken Pad Thai I have tried in Miami. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

  • Lupe M.

This is my favorite Thai place in Miami, it is a bit far from my house but it is definitely worth the drive. I like ordering the pad Thai or massaman curry, both dishes are usually delicious and fresh. The staff is very nice too.

We stopped in here by mistake (Le Lambi next door was closed) and glad we did! Nice little restaurant, small but clean and comfortable. Pleasant staff. Attentive service. And good food! Huge portions, lots to choose from, good ingredients. Best Thai we've found on this side of town. We'll be back.

ok, maybe its 2.5 stars....had lunch today with a friend because of the 4.5 star rating on yelp.....ummm 4.5 stars its not. Rock a Bangkok, is a small place....maybe 25 seats. The food is just ok. I love Asian food, thai and sushi especially, and while its not bad. It is not 4.5 stars by any means. We ordered the Shrimp salad and Fish cakes for appetizers, both were so-so....they offer lunch specials served with soup or sald / spring roll / and for the main item we had the chicken something and the garlic squid....again, bout were so-so. Not horrible, but not great.....the service was friendly, and good. I would give this place 2.5 stars

  • Jose F.

There are fancy places with crapy food & hole-in-the-wall places with amazing food. Rock A Bangkok has not only good food but the service of the owner and his wife is also pretty good. If you are a snob that likes in places to take your selfie and show off... Don't come here, their superb Tom Kha Gai soup doesn't need your attitude! Also order the Chicken Masasaman Curry, the right amount of sweet, curry and spicy (and I don't like sweet and salty food)! Will come again!

    (5)
  • Rafael B.

Been coming here for years, the place does not have the best appearance but the food and service overcome that. Friendly staff, quality food, not expensive. They also have lunch specials every day of the week, most items on the menu are included. Masaman curry chicken, pad thai, chicken satay and thai donuts... To die for!

    (5)
  • Nydia M.

Rock A Bangkok is very easy to miss. Hidden in the back of a tiny shopping center, I had no idea that i lived just minutes from such great Thai food. The decor is nothing to write home about, but it's small and quaint. The food however is awesome! The curry and pad thai especially.

  • Ame B.

Drove all the way from north Miami to try this place based on Yelp reviews. It was not disappointing! Absolutely loved my red curry chicken...the curry was thicker just like I like it! My husband had the volcano duck and enjoyed every bite! We also had steamed dumplings and an imported beer and walked out of there spending a lot less than usual for a dinner for 2. Definitely will be going back ! The restaurant is small and located in a strip mall, but the food is 5-stars!

    (5)
  • Margot B.

I came here with two friends based on a recommendation from someone who actually grew up in Thailand and he did not steer me wrong! We had Pad Thai to start and then garlic shrimp, a shrimp curry and another dish I cannot remember. This is a modest little restaurant in a strip mall, but their food is phenomenal. If ambience is important to you, just order take out. I will return again and again - this is the real deal and their menu selection is huge. I can't wait to try their soups and whole fish. My friends also became instant fans and the owner could not have been nicer.

I love this little Thai place! When I moved to Miami, I was worried that I wouldn't find any good Asian food places to eat. Glad to find out that I was wrong! Rock a Bangkok is a small, but nice little Thai restaurant. A bit hidden, but easy to come back to once you know where it is. The inside is very clean! Menu is extensive and full of both classic American-Thai dishes and some that come closer to my faves in Thailand. Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. I have come here 3 times with 2 people and we spend no more than $20-30 each time for both of us. Lunch special is great - $10 for salad or soup, rice and an entree (from a list), and a spring roll. I'm coming back, so you should check it out!

  • Kim O.

We stopped in just for a few appetizers but I really want to go back and try some curries here! We got the coconut shrimp soup which was really tasty. Sour and savory at the same time and really good. Also got the satay. The chicken was really tender and nice but the sauces were just ok. Not my favorite peanut sauce for sure. The Thai tea was awesome as well. Can't wait to go for a full out dinner!

TL;DR: If your mouth is drooling for some pad thai, red curry or volcano chicken -- go go go here! So, this is one of (what I call) my Restaurant Trios. I have 3 restaurants I default to when I am hankering for something guuuud. This place is well-priced, has generous portions and tastes incredible. In addition, the customer service is always fab. It's a great "hole in the wall" kind of restaurant. Here are my food recommendations: - Pad Thai (ethnic standard lol) - Beef Red Curry (I always get this and ask for "thicker sauce" aka more coconut milk... makes it less watery and nicer -- but my preference) - Volcano Chicken (soooooooooo good! The flavor is yummy, and it's not too spicy! Also, the chicken is always juicy, never dry. :)) - Tom Yom Goong (this is an appetizer soup that I love to split with the boy :) It's a bit sour-ish in flavor and hard to describe, but suuuuper flavorful and yummy) Mmmm mmm!

  • Channing N.

One of my favorite local Thai restaurants for sure. It's definitely a little hole in the wall and may not have the most inviting appearance, but once you try the food, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Never have had a day a bad service. Food is always pretty consistent in taste and always comes out nice and hot. My personal favorites are the Three Karat Chicken and Garlic Chicken. My favorite part is the fact that I feel everything tastes pretty authentic and always delicious.

  • Melissa E.

Upon entering the restaurant is rather quaint and you seat yourself, which I rather liked. This sort-of "whole in the wall" Thai spot was very warm and intimate. With it's casual feel and service was pretty good to boot. Beyond all that, the food was delicious. My husband and I enjoyed our appetizer (Thai dumplings), entrees (chicken coconut milk soup, special fried rice, beef curry, and volcano chicken). Having been spoiled by the many Thai places up in Broward and Ft. Lauderdale, I am super stoked that this place is so close to my new home! Oh and I forgot to mention, the dessert was phenomenal! Thai donuts! You can't go wrong with Thai donuts.

    (4)
  • Jorge R.

The chicken pad thai was one of the best i've ever had. Its not drowned in sauce which is my preference. The little thai donut things were nothing special. It was a decent portion and the price was fair.

This little authentic restaurant is great. The menu has a large selection of curry and anything and everything Thy. The service was not perfect since they are packed. We got our spring rolls which were extremely hot before getting water. However our food was really good and the portions are large.

Before I went to Rock A Bangkok I had never had Pad Thai. As a matter of fact this was my FIRST time ever having any Thai cuisine. Don't judge me. I guess I never had the chance. I know....I have corrected my wrongs and I am so happy I was able to right my wrongs! The portions are huge! I will start with that. So make sure you are ready to take home leftovers. The Pad Thai (with chicken) was our appetizer. Yea appetizer....we were hungry. It was a large plate that we left bare. It was just perfect. Then we ordered two more plates to share since we couldn't make up our minds. We had the Curry Chicken and Volcano Chicken. The Curry Chicken had to be hands down my favorite. It is made in Coconut milk and such a unique flavor with all of the spices they put. The Volcano is served on what looks like a miniature boat that Columbus sailed on. It was delicious as well. A little spicy but I think just the perfect amount. They pile on the white rice. I submerged the rice in the curry sauce. Do it, then send me a compliment. Now contrary to how this review reads I am not a huge fan of chicken....but all of the plates were perfect with chicken. I am going to try some of the pork options next time! The restaurant was empty when we went....like we were the only ones there. It was a Tuesday night so understandably slower, which was nice. It was quiet and the service was great.

I soooo wanted to like this place. I ordered the Chicken coconut soup and some steamed dumplings for lunch. The soup was good, but the dumplings were dry and stale. About 20 minutes after finishing my lunch this place literally sent me to the hospital with food poisoning!!! I hadn't eaten anything else that day except for lunch. Suffice it to say... I will NEVER order from this place again!

  • Julia S.

I read the reviews before going, but not what I expected. The prices are too high for the quality of the food. My mom ordered a fried snapper and it was over fried, dry, and SUPER EXPENSIVE. Not impressed at all. I don't recommend it.

I've lived about 5 minutes from this place for 11 years and just now found it!!! Amazing food. I LOVE Thai food and this place is a hidden gem. Went for the first time with family. My daughter and uncle who are the picky eaters about licked their plates clean! Took home leftovers! Went back the next day only with my sister and tried two different dishes. Again amazing and took home leftovers which I ate for lunch yesterday so technically I've eaten from there three days in a row!!! Thinking about going for lunch today now! LOL!

Quaint little hole in the wall place serving up some authentic thai food. My most recent visit I had the volcano chicken "medium spice". WOW that was some spicy chicken! But delicious! I usually get the curry chicken and its always good. Very affordable too, especially during lunch. Try the Thai Tea!

Our waitress was very kind and acknowledged my questions (gluten free) and answered them perfectly! I could not ask for a better dining experience! My kids loved their chicken fried rice and edamame! Ooooo and their Thai tea made me smile! Lol I definitely recommend to anyone looking for a delicious fresh meal!!

I am starting to believe that I will never find a good Thai restaurant in Miami :( i had lunch here with my sister and the food left a lot to be desired. The pad Thai was greasy and bland, the tom yum soup was watery and had little flavor. It only earned two stars because the cute atmosphere was a redeeming quality. Will never eat here again.

Rock A Bangkok, you officially own my heart The hubby and I decided to make Tuesday our date night. and we headed out to have some Peruvian food. The establishment we had chosen, is very small and it had a wait time of 15 to 20 minutes. We were starving so we decided to use our yelp app to find a good restaurant nearby...and thats how we found Rock A Bangkok! We went inside to a surprisingly empty restaurant. We were seated right away by a very polite lady. We were feeling adventurous and we were starving, so to START we ordered a Chicken Pad Thai. Im so glad we ordered this instead of dumplings. The Pad Thai was AMAZING! We then ordered Yellow Curry Chicken and Volcano Chicken to share. The portions are massive, so honestly we wouldve been fine with just one of the two, but I'm so glad we ordered both! They had very different flavors, both of them to die for! Even though we barely caused a dent in our meals, we decided we could not skip dessert, so we ordered Thai Doughtnuts. Im not big on fried desserts, but the doughnuts were amazing! I cant wait to go back and try different items on their menu. This place has definitely made it to my list of favorite eats. The food is cheap, the portions are huge and the service was very friendly.

This place is amazing, food us delicious and the service is wonderful. Its a little hole in the wall but good eating. My favorite dish is the Garlic Chicken and Karat Chicken (which is better than any honey chicken youll eat anywhere else).

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the world. The restaurant is a small place in a strip mall. I feel like I am in a little NYC restaurant because it has this intimate feel. It is clean, and the food never disappoints. I love everything from their menu.

Loveeeeeed this Thai place. I actually found it on yelp and saw the good reviews and they really didn't disappoint. It's really tiny inside but the it doesn't take away from the service or quality of food. I got the chicken and steak pad Thai for like $13 usually it's cheaper but I got chicken and steak. Also ordered the chicken fried rice which was SO good! Definitely one of my favorites fried rice! I really liked that it really doesn't taste like any msg and it's fresh. Ordered the volcano chicken and it was delish. Not too spicy just right. I would definetly recommend this place to everyone! If you're in the neighborhood and want Thai then come here. It won't disappoint at all. Everything I had was fresh and delicious.

My favorite Thai food in Miami. To be sure, not all of the dishes are knockouts, so your opinion of the joint may depend on what you order. But if you go with staples like the red curry and coconut milk soups, or with specials like Golden Mountain, you won't be disappointed -- they really nail that mixture of richness and savoriness that make Thai food so good. And if you're a hot food hound, you can always ask them to dial up the spiciness (their default is mild, but the flavor is so good that it's not a negative). Apart from the food, the service is great in this very small, intimate joint, but the atmosphere is pretty blah, so this isn't exactly a first-date kind of place. But when the food is this good, it doesn't really matter, and the modest decor/small size allow them to charge reasonable prices.

Excellent Thai place located in an unexpected location. Amazing service and delicious food for We tried the tom kah gai soup, masaman curry, and red curry chicken and highly recommendable. Will definitely come back for more!

This is my second review because this place is so incredibly amazing and consistent. Awesome service every time, delicious food. The employees are super hospitable and I literally feel like i'm in Thailand every time I dine here. Everything on the menu is delicious! This is by far, my favorite restaurant

Simply amazing!!! The pad Thai was to die for. So fresh and yummy. We also had the garlic steak which they ring the dish while the meet is still sizzling which is a plus. The veggies they use are also very fresh and delicious. Complimentary white rice is available with any ordered entree. The desserts are super yummy or they seem to be because we were twofold to have any Thai donuts :) the atmosphere is cozied the place is small but I highly recommend it perfect for a date!

Honestly, I just don't get why all the good reviews. Staff was very friendly and nice ( probably the reason why they get 3 stars). Food is mediocre at best. Very bland was missing flavor not what I think of when I think thai food.

Quick Yelp search and taste for spicy food led us to this small, unassuming restaurant in a strip mall off of Kendall Drive. The place looked closed at 330 pm...but we tried the door and it was open. The decorum is interesting..they use banquet chair covers on the chairs..made us think they were preparing for a private event, but the waitress assured us that they were open to public. We missed lunch specials by 30 minutes. Oped for Thai tea, egg rolls, seafood pad Thai, and curry shrimp. The Thai tea was pre-made... I prefer made to order so I may not order this again. But the food was tasty and generous..my only food issues are the use of imitation crabmeat. I do not understand why restaurants use this stuff!! I will return but I will be specific about my preferences in regard to fresh Thai tea and imitation crabmeat!

Given all the fantastic reviews, I was looking fwd. to giving this place a shot. I must admit I was left rather uninspired by my meal. I tried my husband's noodle dish and while it had good texture, it tasted a bit incipid. I might re consider giving it another chance in the future as I wasn't necessarily very hungry when I went so I didn't order much. However, sometimes all you need is just a few bites to know.

The curry chicken is super good!! I don't know what all the fuss is about with the pad Thai. I didn't like it too much. Maybe it was a bad batch cause there's a lot of good reviews about it.

This place Rocked!! We were lucky enough to be seated immediately on a Friday night in Kendall. I was coming down with something so I ordered some of their spicy soup (unfortunately I forgot the name!). Spicy level 3 cleared that right up! Main course, ordered the Volcano Chicken and my wife ordered Curry Chicken. Both were excellent. Dessert - what do you think? Yes, the Thai Donuts were also great. Under $50 - now that Rocks!!

One of my favorite Thai experiences in Miami. Why? Their good service and good food is extremely consistent. I go here at least once a week for lunch and have been going here for months. They have never let me down. The lunch waitress is incredibly kind and helpful. It is a very unassuming place. Very small place. Always tidy. Always neat. Very zen and relaxing. If you are in the Kendall area and need to chill out for lunch Rock A Bangkok is perfect. When I first started coming I did the ol' "order the pad thai" move. Then I moved onto their spicy basil fried rice and now I'm stuck on the Pad Prik Pao. The Chicken Pad Prik Pao has a delicious sauce, a variety of healthy veggies and even some tiny lime pieces - these are magical. When you chew them the lime juice explodes in your mouth and it is absolutely delicious. Some of my friends are hardcore fans of their curry as well. Since then I've explored many of the lunch specials and they are all very delicious. Their portions are just right. Not too small or too big. They have various levels of spicyness and if you want a higher level you can ask for the spice rack on the side. With the lunch specials you get an optional soup or salad before your dish and I stick to the soup but my friends who dig the salad say its great as well. All for under $10 before tax and tip. I've never been here for dinner so I'll have to check that out sometime but if you like Thai and you're in the Kendall area, you need to check this place out.

They have it right. The food is amazing. Last time I was here was on a weekend lunch hour and it was packed (the dining area is somewhat small). Service is wonderful, food is delicious, price is so good! I've had the pad thai and the Pad See Ew, and they are fantastic. Why did I try the Thai Donuts last time? Now all I do is think about going back for some more of those! Love this wonderful little joint!

Possibly the best thai restaurant in Miami. You will not be disappointed by the service and the food is the best!!! The secret here is that is run and owned by a small family that keeps food and service consistent at all times. I have been coming here for years and would not go anywhere else to have thai food. Amazing people.

Ordered thai ice tea... Had a bowl of spicey shrimp soup (was mediocre at best) We ordered garlic beef which was ok, lacking flavor without the dipping sauce & the pad thai chicken (def the highlight of the meal). We will def eat there again, hopefully with a better result. Overall it was ok, certainly did not live up to the hype from the reviews. Maybe my update review will have an increase rating.

I guess this is the best Thai you are going to get in Kendall but it's also not best Thai food i've tried in Miami. I had the red curry chicken because it's pretty much fail proof. My dish came and the curry was a little lumpy...i've never seen that in Thai curry before. It was a little off putting because it wasn't aesthetically pleasing and the flavors were just average. I can't really say it was bad but i can't say that it was good either. Sorry Kendall, you have to break your bubble world to try some better Thai food.

I really really wanted to like this place. I love thai food and it's close to home. Went with my daughter and had Thai iced tea, which was ok. Then we ordered the appetizer sampler. Spring rolls cold, but ok, very hard to chew the nearly frozen lettuce. I knew if they were cold everything must be. Sure enough the coconut shrimp were totally raw and grey. Not even warmed. Yuk. The other thing was like weird fried bits of styrofoam. The we got coconut milk soup. It was rancid we started gagging from the smell and pushed it away. I didn't complain in case it was supposed to smell like rotting fish. My daughter had the chicken satay which was fine. Nothing special for 7.95, and the peanut sauce was like lumpy grainy cold peanut butter. The service was amazing and the waitress brought free thai donuts since we didn't like the raw shrimp. I didn't mention the soup. I went when they were just opening for dinner so it may be why the oil wasn't hot? Anyway the service was nice and she said next time try the garlic chicken, it's better. Apparently she knows what's not good and I wish she had steered me away from it.

Amazing little spot in the middle of kendall. Like previous reviews mentioned, you dont expect it to turn out so great. Real local thai, consistent. We have had the steamed dumplings, always great. The pad thai was amazing. The fresh rolls have crab inside and were delicious. The satay was great, chicken better than steak. And the sauces... Mmmmm delish!! Peanut, cucumber and onions, sweet and sour. Amazing !

Grammy's and Thai food go hand in hand. Or at least, this is what I discovered this past weekend. We ordered takeout from here and kept it simple: Chicken Pad Thai and Yeah Yeah Spring Rolls. Not a big deal right? HUGE deal. The service was friendly and though we ordered takeout, they invited us to sit down and served us water while we waited. Again I'm shocked about how some places are genuinely friendly and care about their customers. It took about 15 minutes for use to get our food which isn't so bad. We dived into the food as soon as we got home and I remembered why I loved this place. Their spicy red sauce (which I won't spell because I'll butcher it) is amazing. I'm planning on purchasing this and keeping it on stock at home from a Thai market. The portion was a lot and my boyfriend and I were able to eat and not be so full which is great. The Spring Roll appetizer order brought 3 decent sized rolls and were filled with yummy vegetables. Please do yourself a favor and visit this little hidden treasure. You won't regret it. I promise. Hell, I pinky promise!

As fresh and authentic as it gets. Lucky to have this place in west Kendall. I'm very picky when it comes to Thai food. Although the options are overwhelming, I can bet that every thing is delish

I thought nothing could beat Bangkok Bankok (125 & kendall), until I tried this place. The inside gets 2 stars because the tables are too close to eachother so I literally spent my dinner listening to everyone's conversation around me, which usually would put me in a bad mood, but the lady next to me kept talking about her divorce so it was kind of exciting. lol. One thing I hate are bright lights in restaurants, and Rock A Bangkok made sure they had the brightest! In the end, none of these things matter, because the food is incredible. Possibly best Thai food in Miami. I had the Volcano chicken (breaded pieces of chicken with a garlic/red chili sauce), and I think my boyfriend had the basil beef I believe. It was excellent. Plus they offer you more steamed rice if you run out (always a plus). Can't wait to go back.

We came to this place thanks to my Yelp app. I was hesitating between Bangkok Bangkok or This place, but Rock a Bangkok had just a little better reviews. It was my first time trying Thai, ppl here in Miami are more familiar with Chinese food. Luckily I decided to give it a try. It was delicious! Chicken Yellow Curry was amazing, also the Chicken Pad Thai. Fast and great service. Definitely ppl here in miami have to be more open minded and go try this place, i assure you won't regret it! We loved it so much that I just ordered some for pick up!!!! See you!!! Ps : the portions are great to share. They are big!

My husband and I love this little hole in the wall in Kendall. We have been going here for the 7 yrs we have been together and we havent been disappointed once. Their wonton soup is really and truly the BEST wonton soup on the planet. It is full of flavor and absolutely delicious. Their satay, pad thai, DIU noodles... everything here is always cooked perfectly and never disappoints. The service is good although they do take a little long to cook, but that's worth it when you're getting such fresh and delicious food.

Been to several thai restuarants around Miami and this place has the best Pad Thai. The flavor is incredible and the service is great. Really nice family. The Spring Rolls are crunchy with a great sweet sauce.

I came here for dinner on a Saturday night. The other tables were pretty much filled up, though the place has a very low key vibe. The prices are good and the Thai ice tea was great. The duck curry was too mild; it is partially my fault for not remembering to mention the spicey-ness level when ordering, but then our sever made no mention of it either. Somewhat similarly, the tom kar gai was a little watery. The spicy soup and crunchy noodles were better than average. Despite their ubiquity, I have had better Thai food at several of the Thai-sushi joints around town. Not bad, not great.

  • Jocelyn T.

They're not bad...but I never went back...so what does that tell me...that it wasn't that good. I think the portions are small and the food is just alright. I prefer Bangkok Bangkok, but last couple times it hasn't been that great....so I may return back to give Rock A Bangkok another try.

I decided to try this place based on the reviews here. It's a small unassuming place in a small shopping center. We went on a Saturday night and there were only 3 parties there. We were quickly seated and served drinks. I ordered the Thai dumplings (fried) for an appetizer. They weren't good. They were dry and overdone. I wouldn't order that again. For the main course, we ordered the Volcano chicken and the shrimp in Red Curry (the curry was actually pale yellow in appearance). The Volcano chicken, which everyone raved about, wasn't my favorite. It had a nice spicy kick, but the sauce was cloying! I was tired of it after a few bites! The Curry Shrimp however, was awesome. It had the right amount of "heat" and was nice and creamy! The entrees are served with as much white rice as you can eat! In fact, they gave me extra rice to take home with my leftovers. We ended the meal with one of my favorites....Thai donuts! These were great! Little puffs of dough and with a lil bowl of condensed milk...Heavenly! Overall, the meal was good and the service first class. I overheard the man next to me declare the Pad Thai as being the best he's ever had, so I will will be back to try it! I would also like to try some of the interesting soups they have on the menu.

Delicious coconut soup! That was the highlight of my dinner! The beef pad Thai was good especially with a little hot sauce :) The prices were best fit lunch I think but at dinner just 5 for the soup and 12 or something for the pad thai. The fried bananas were just $4 and yummy too!

For the price, it is as good as it gets. I usually go to Sea Siam when I am craving curry, but this place is becoming my home-away-from home. I recommend the curry chicken and the pad thai. It's a tiny hole-in-the-wall located by the Papa John's that serves traditional authentic thai cusine for a reasonable price. Our waitress was super friendly. I like this spot for Sunday lunch or intimate downtime. Their salad comes with a peanut sauce, so if anyone is allergic or doesn't like sweet dressing, I would recommend the soup instead.

I love this place *Cozy local spot *Service is 1A *Super friendly smiling servers *Spring Rolls were fresh and delicious served with a sweet ginger deeping sauce *Shrimp Pad Thai- just right- tasteful- topped with cilantro and peanuts- the real deal *Chicken Red Curry- Thai style curry with coconut milk, basil, peppers served with rice- this dish was extremely good *Thai Donuts- simply sinful and mouth watering *Cold Thai Coffee- Thai coffee served in an iced cup and topped with milk and whipped cream. You gotta mix it together to create a very nice cold coffee drink- this is a must try *Thai Beer- my husband said it was refreshingly good The menu starts with a introduction to Thai's food & culture. It explains in detail what are the main ingredients used to create such exotic and flavor full dishes. This brief introduction let me to believe this restaurant is strongly aiming to keep the essence of Thai culinary delights as real as possible. One can truly experience this through their warm service, and incredible food.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. the pad thai & red curry are so delicious! & I have to admit I can polish off an entire hot pot of Tom kah gai by myself...ONLY BECAUSE IT IS THE MOST AMAZING SOUP TO EVER DRIFT ACROSS MY TASTE BUDS. do yourself a favor and split one with a friend or 2, followed by some thai iced tea & thai doughnuts. the service here is wonderful, I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant...great, now I'm starving.

A wonderful low-key Thai restaurant. It's nestled in a strip mall, super easy to pass unnoticed. The ambiance is quiet and clean, small enough to be very personal. The single waitress was fast and polite, easily handling the 8 or so tables in the place. The food was awesome. Fresh and flavorful, it tasted like it was made with care. I had the lime & chili chicken, my wife had the chicken pad Thai. Both were excellent. The portions were generous to have left-overs the next day. And best if all, the prices are VERY reasonable, especially if you can take advantage of the lunch specials. Overall it was a terrific meal. Enjoy!

  • Emma A.

This is what I get here every time I come: a coconut chicken soup, shrimp clear noodles, and a thai iced tea. I think this place is awesome purely for the coconut chicken soup. It is incredible! Like the first reviewer, the nightmare came true for me one night when I arrived to find the cute restaurant closed! After reading the yelp reviews, I've come to find out that it is closed on Mondays. I breathed a sigh of relief, but am still upset b/c Monday is my Saturday (damn La Keisha at work for stealing my original days off!) The service is decent, could be better, but the place is so small, I'm sure that they're crazy busy in the kitchen. The best think about this restaurant is the fact that whenever I go there's only one other group of diners there even on a Saturday night! Maybe I should keep it a secret and only give it two stars?

Genuinely friendly and excellent service. Low key and seems to have a tight knit following. I used to patronize at lunch with my parents as they LOVE this place, but now its my go to comfort food and anytime I need a make your lips tingle, nose run, and eyes water fix I'll come here and order a Thai style holy basil fried rice and a Tom Yum Goong soup extra spicy to go. It's really is amazingly well- seasoned, spiced and tasty. And is extremely affordable with a great tip and everything :)

First time here. I was impressed with the service, our waitress was very attentive and courteous. The kids (which are the biggest critics) liked the three karat chicken - really good. The sweet and sour chicken was very good. I ended up getting the chicken curry and was fantastic. The rice was well made, no clumps. Very enjoyable dinner.

I love thai food so when I saw the reviews my fellow yelpers left for this establishment I felt compelled to search it out and give it a try. Weren't able to go and sit down and eat cuz my little one year old was acting like the tazmanian devil that day so I got takeout. I ordered the volcano chicken and my wife got the garlic chicken. Picked it up and got home and my volcano chicken was undeserving of the name. Tasted good but I like my thai spicy to the point my lips are numb and my eyes are tearing. What can I say, I'm a masochist. Anyway, my wife's garlic chicken actually turned out to be a sesame beef type of dish. It tasted good but it wasn't what she wanted. Going back and complaining was out of the question, that place is totally out of the way. So we settled w/ our dishes and it was pretty good. The dishes were good and the portions were ample so I'm willing to give this place another shot. For now it gets a 3 out of 5 and I'm being generous.

This five-star review is purely based on their curry. This was my go to restaurants in the Miami area for curry. Their curry is as good as it gets for me anywhere I've been. I've had their green and yellow, I think their green and yellow stands out above their red but their curry is just soo gooodd. And unlimited rice with your curry?! Yes please! The atmosphere and the vibe of this place is great and the wait staff is so friendly and nice. With that being said, this review is based on their curry, nothing else. Their other dishes, I probably have tried, but they don't really leave a lasting impression. But you can't go wrong with their curry.

This is by far the best Thai food I have ever had. If you are in the area I highly recommend this place. They have a very large menu. My date and I tried the Three-Karat Chicken and the Chicken Masaman Curry. Both were amazing! I went on a Tuesday night and it was pretty empty, but I did not let this deter me from eating there. Due to the 5 star ratings I saw on here I decided to still give it a chance and am I glad I did. While empty, I can say that the service we received was fantastic.

One of those strip mall places that surprises. Went in there not expecting much as it's in the middle of a Kendall strip mall but boy was the service and food great. The Pad Thai was delicious and the portion generous but the volcano chicken was average though. I'll definitely come here again when I'm out in suburbia and want good Thai food.

Coming from Cali where Thai restaurants are easy to come by, this place is a true gem. Whenever I'm in the mood for "gourmet take-out", their Pad Thai is hard to beat. They always give a generous amount, and for $10-11, it's a great deal. Haven't actually sat inside the restaurant to eat, but the ambiance is nice and the staff are always really friendly. This is my Thai "go-to", perfect location in Kendall, and probably one of the most authentic in Miami.

Seriously, I thought I wasn't a big fan of Thai food but that was before i tried this place. Rock is sooooo good I will never order Chinese again. The spring rolls delicious and taste homemade. The satay and coconut curry to die for. Some gingery beef and veggie dish also very good. All in all a great experience, I am very pleased to have finally tried this place and highly recommend to all.

sometimes the cure for a rainy day is a heaping bowl of noodles. Be it their noodle soup or their pad thai- Rock a Bangkok has been satisfying my noodle needs for quite some time. Service is always friendly, food is so yummy - and it's located in an unsuspecting little strip mall that if you blink you'll miss it. And if you do see it you will probably pay it no mind, which is better - more noodles for me! The portions here at no joke- whenever I order it, even lunch portions, its more than enough for two people. Delicious food and wallet friendly? thank you!

WOW! I am really blown away by this place. This is best Thai restaurant in Miami; better than moon, Bangkok Bangkok and the Thai Orchid. This may be a hole in the wall in Kendall, but it has five stars in everything that is truly important about a restaurant: Starting with cleanliness, this place is emaculate. Everything is clean clean. The glasses, silverware, tables, floors..even the fish tank. The food is quality homemade food put together with master recipes. I gurantee great flavor with every meal. The service is also exceptional; people are attentive, respectful and knowledgeable.

This is not a strip club so relax. I was introduced to Rock a Bangkok a few weeks ago when i was in search of a soup to have for dinner and Michelle Z suggested this place. I said ok and was pleasantly surprised with my chicken noodle soup. I saw the volcanoe chicken that she was having and it looked great. Spicy but great. We also went for dinner the other night and i loved the little place. It is in a kendall strip mall behind the einstiens bagel so it is a little tough to find. But well worth it. The waitress was very attentive and food was yum yum. I look forward to expanding my selections as i visit again : )

Best Thai food we have eaten (and we eat Thai food a lot). The Pad Thai and DUI noodles (love the name) were moist, spicy and flavorful. When the red curry was served, we were a little skeptical because it looked pale - but turned out to be the best red curry we have ever eaten! The service was great too. If you like Thai food - I highly recommend this place.

Aw man. I hate to be the rotten apple in the bunch, but I didnt really care for this place. It pains me to say it, cause they people there were so friendly, but I wasnt a fan of the food I got. I ordered the Duck Basil (love getting Duck at Thai restaurants), but it wasn't good. I was hoping for the best because of the reviews, but my duck wasn't crispy, it wasnt flavorful, and the meat to vegetable ratio wasnt good. It didnt even really taste like duck, which I found disappointing. And It cost me like 19 bucks with tip. Now i dont want to be that guy to bring the rating of the place down due to one dish and one try. Im more than willing to go back to try something else. The people were top notch. The feeling I get from eating there was similar to the feeling you get when grandma makes something you dont really like. You try not to hurt her feelings, but it wasnt good.

This place is delicious! I've never been to Thailand, but the food tastes authentic. It's fresh and great quality, I highly recommend! This place rocks :)

This place is phenomenal! The price of the food is more than reasonable, tasty, zesty, and remarkably authentic. The service is quite speedy and always nothing short of friendly. I most definitely recommend it if you live in the West Kendall area as it is a convenient location to get interesting food.

When it comes to going out to eat, I am a very picky person. However, I really like this restaurant. The food was good. My boyfriend wanted something really really spicy, since that is what he likes. So he ordered a pad thai and asked if they could make it really spicy. The waitress was really nice and told us that they could make it extremely spicy just for him. And it was great according to my boyfriend. I ordered (I believe it is called, cannot remember) 5 carat chicken. It was really good. It was amazing, crunchy and came with a lot of rice. The service was great. The atmosphere was very chill and intimate. It was not expensive for the food that we got.

Took my friend to lunch. We both ordered the specials. The food was not great. After reading these reviews I was really disappointed. I guess this is why my friend, who lives in West Kendall, has never been to this place. It is in a strip mall and needs updating. The best thing I can say was the service was very good. Don't order the lunch special.

I have been a regular here back in 2011 before we moved to California. During my recent visit to Miami I insisted to go back to this place for the sake of good old times. I ordered my usual shrimp fried rice for a take out and specifically mentioned that I wanted mild to medium spicy. I would like to mention here that I'm Indian and not a stranger to spicy foods. My order turned out very very spicy in fact I could see jalapeño seeds all over the food. When I called them back to say that I got spicy food when I wanted mild the manager didn't seem to believe it and responded very nonchalantly. She asked me bring back the food even if it is on the next day to get a replacement/refund, she wanted to make sure I didn't eat the food she said, when asked for clarification. It wasnt that I was unsatisfied with the way my order turned out, she would only refund if I was so unsatisfied that that I did not even touch the food. I was surprised to hear that since I never had to "return" food before at any restaurant when it wasn't up to my satisfaction. When a restaurant is trusted by every customer to handle food ethically, the same trust should be returned when a customer complains about their food, or is even simply unsatisfied and shouldn't require "proof". . So, when I said I can't come back in rush hour traffic she wasn't even apologetic and still insisted that she won't return or replace until she saw the food untouched. I canceled an errand that day and went back the same day partly because I was talked to rudely and I wanted a refund because I was very unhappy about how the whole experience turned out. When I returned the food and said I just wanted my refund and didn't feel like eating there anymore she refused a refund. I just told her then that I will dispute the charges to my card and will not allow the charges because i returned the food and dont have any intention to purchase anymore..she still refused. This time my husband intervened seeing how she was refusing to refund blatantly and told her that we'll just assume we tipped the whole amount and she can keep the money we just dont want a replacement anymore only then she hesitantly voided the transaction. To sum it up my experience with the store managers way of handling a regular customer was beyond awful. I never even got a "sorry" out of her the whole time. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone anymore.

very cute small thai place. has few workers there so if they get busy with about 4-5 tables there can be a long wait for your food so beware. other than that their food is very good portions are big enough to two. my fave from them i would say is... pad thai. I would give 5 stars but here is s. fl not many people like to eat spicy food so they don't use real thai chilli peppers.

I have nothing but great thing to say about this place! I love how it's local and small. They have an amazing lunch special here. You get so much for so little. Everything I have tried here is good but the pad Thai is my favorite! The service is great too! You will not go wrong if you come here

I always confuse Bangkok Bangkok with Rock a Bangkok, anyways after eating out at Bangkok Bangkok i saw through Yelp of course that there was another Thai restaurant down the street (this one of course). First and foremost the restaurant is not big so don't expect a TGIF type of restaurant, it's small and simple and very quiet which is good. Second the Thai lady that was there is super duper nice & sweet, she was very attentive from the moment we walked in till the moment we left. The food to be honest with you I don't really see a difference between Bangkok Bangkok and this place (duh obviously) they're both Thai, but I figured each restaurant is different and have there own style. Over all this is really good place, the customer service is exceptional, and the food is really good. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something other than the type restaurants we eat.

Solid Thai restaurant. Spring rolls could be better, but everything else that I've had was good! I've had the Lotus Chicken ($11.95) and the Ginger Beef ($12.95). There's also lunch specials. Definitely a worthy spot for West Kendall.

This is a gem in West Kendall. The food is always fresh and consistant. The service is good, they always remember you and seem eager to help and serve you. I have yet to try something I did not enjoy. My family and I have been eating at Rock A Bangkok for about 7 years now.

Awesome, awesome, awesome! I really love it! We got sea food Pad thai and it was great(although I like it more juicy) and another plate that had shrimp, cashews, avocado, and spicy curry.... It was incredible!!!! For appetizer we got coconut spicy shrimp and it was out of this world. Everything it's full of flavors and huge quantities. We didn't have space for desert and we had to take half of everything to go because we were full. The service it's A+++

I searched Miami for the perfect pad-thai and I happened to find it just a few blocks from where I live! This is a small place (as often my favorite places are) where you can eat in or take out. I just about always order the beef pad-thai and they're very generous with their portions...and like I mentioned, it's perfect! When I'm feeling extra sweet, I order the thai donuts which are severed with caramelized milk...yum! Now, if they would only deliver! Another one of my precious gems!

A small hole in the wall type of place in West Kendall. It's really quite cute. The food here is very good. Reasonable prices and ample portions, you won't leave hungry. Appetizers were ok, could do better. I'm not much for thai donuts but my friend wanted to try them and she loved them. I had the chicken red curry and it was fresh, delicious. Went back a few weeks later and had the pad thai, also very good. Will be going back soon.

I have nightmares about this place. . . Nightmares that when i come back from San francisco this incredible restaurant will be closed. I literally think about this place all the time. Even w/ all the amazing restaurants in San francisco - I still crave their garlic tofu. I have pictures of their food on my wallpaper- laptop and phone NO ONE has food like them. I am plotting to bribe their chef one day into being my personal chef.

Best Thai in Kendall. They served the nicest, most flavorful Tom Kah Gai (chicken and coconut milk) soup I have ever had, and I try that soup in every Thai restaurant I go to! Great Pad Thai and chicken dishes. Reasonable prices. I am so happy we found this place...we will definitely return again and again.

Best mom and pop Thai restaurant in Kendall. I've been coming to this little hidden spot for more than six years. Everything on the menu is fresh and delicious, so go ahead, pick anything, you won't be disappointed. I always have the seafood Pad Thai or spicy beef. You can ask for mild or hot or if you are like me, no heat at all. Then finish off your dish with some yummy Thai doughnuts, it's sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.

I have been to this place a few times. I strongly recommend the spicy noodle salad with your choice of chicken or shrimp, extremely delicious and complex dish with many layers of flavor. their Pad Thai is very good, and plentiful. I have had some of the other dishes such as the volcano chicken which was great and spicy, just the way it should be. I was not crazy about the beef with vegetables, it lacked a bit of flavor. Dessert wise you must have the Thai donuts with ice cream. Service is very friendly and efficient for the most part, however it seems understaffed at times. One waitress alone cannot handle a place this big, specially with a full house. In all, I recommend this place as their prices are very reasonable and the quality of their food is very good.

My family was looking for a good dinner at a reasonable price. We found it at Rock A Bangkok. We had the Thai Dumplings appetizer-boiled not fried-very good. We also had a bottle of Chardonnay wine at a very reasonable price. The Shrimp soup was one of the best my wife said she ever had. We had the seafood curry and the shrimp red curry-they were very tasty and the spices were just right. Cold leches for dessert made this a perfect meal. Our server was very friendly and caring. The service could not have been better if I were being served by my mother!
