Worst place ever. They will tow your car from their lot while you eat there, and they won't care.

I went there a long time ago there mix grill was kind of skimpy and the food was not all that.

When you drive by this place, you know what you are getting into. It is a bare walls, restaurant. Cosmetically the place needs a lot of help. But I have been to this place more than a few times. The menu is an interesting mix of peruvian and argentinian food. The food is decent and the portions are huge. The prices are great. Service is amateurish. But not bad. Tips can only be given cash. And that is a huge problem. Obviously management doesn't care about their waiters making money. Not everyone carries cash. And they end up loosing tips. No wonder your waiters are not extra motivated. And the option of the soda for free with the meal is nice. But Enough soda already. What if I want something healthier like an arizona ice tea. Options would be nice. Parking is never an issue. They recently painted the whole restaurant. It looks a little better. But it is nowhere near what it should look like to attract more people.

Great lunch specials and the portions are plentiful. You pick a meat and two sides and includes a canned soda and bread is brought to your table. I did have dinner here once and wasn't too impressed with the portion size of the meat even though it cost more than the lunch special. Service is average but I come here for the food and prices so it doesn't really bother me.

I have been coming to this place off and on for about 5 years. The place looks like a hole in the wall but that doesn't bother me since the food is great! I have never had a bad experience. I agree with the other person's comment that they should add Arizona Iced Tea to the menu, even if you have to pay a little extra it's worth it.

I've been driving by this place forever. It's had several incarnations as a restaurant. The hubs went there once with his guy friends and has been trying to get me to go forever. Ok, you see the pics that are posted here. I think this place used to be a Popeye's or something. This is one of those places where you have to get beyond the exterior and general aesthetics. Today, because I was playing nice, I finally cooperated and gave in to eating here. There is no decor to speak of: bare walls, a few of the ceiling tiles have water stains, checker board table clothes and Styrofoam cups. At this point, I was slightly frightened. Nonetheless, I soldiered on and ordered bistec a la milanesa (breaded steak). This came with two sides. I picked black beans and tostones (mashed and fried plantains). We were in time for the lunch menu, which FYI extends through Saturday at 4pm. The meal included a soda and i just had to order a Materva. The server was attentive enough. Once the food arrived, I knew all was going to be o.k. First of all, my steak was HUGE, like hanging off the plate huge. The black beans were good and the tostones were ok. I think they may have been pre-frozen. All in all, it totally satisfied my urge for Cuban food, although they claim to be Argentine. I don't care the food was good. All in all, two HUGE lunch specials, a whole bottle of wine rang in at just about $35. It was a total deal. Oh, BTW, tips can only be given in cash. It would have been nice to know this BEFOREHAND as I never carry cash. Luckily, I had a few bucks in my wallet.

woke up hungry, very hungry. the night before was one of those crazy fun nights and god knows what the hell i did but, fact is; i woke up with the munchies. true story. Y lives close to el torito. she keeps on telling me about it cause its peruvian/argentinean and she has a menu somewhere in the apt. found it and because between the two of us we had about 3 functional neurons working at the time, we ordered the classics. ceviche and lomo saltado. was that all? no, we actually ordered a side of tostones which is something my parents would laugh about and you might be wondering? why is that funny? cause peruvians dont eat tostones. in fact, i did not know about the goodness of tostones until i moved to santo domingo in 1987. platano is good, bro. anyways, drove to el torito to pick up my stuff, the restaurant itself was kinda empty but clean. the ladies behind the counter probably noticed i had a rough night the night before. im a bit embarrassed... no, not really. i made that up just now . oh the bill, yeah. $33. not super cheap but the food was good, especially the lomo saltado. the ceviche was a-ok. bit weak for me. needed more lime juice and more aji. but its not like i didnt eat it. to the contrary, it did not stand a chance. tostones and all.

Saying this geography is Belle Meade is sure giving them a cachet they may not necessarily deserve (when I think of Belle Meade I'm going with Michy's and Balan's....). Anyhoo - thanks to the monsoon rains of Ranchipur I had no where to go before having my ample ass swept into a sewer so I snuck in here and settled for a early bird dinner (more of a snack) to wait for the rain to abate. Cute (if not sweet "hole in the wall") Peruvian/Argentine resto that had neither Peruvian or Argentine beer; ok - give me a Bud Lite and save me the extra six bits. Food? Very fresh (I had salad and a great skirt steak; the requested mashed potatoes were fluffy but probably out of a box though) but I also noticed the 2 argentine nationals got the chimmichurri and more bread and butter, that's OK - I'm not a regular I was just escaping the rain. They could earn more stars with (a) better kept clean bathrooms and (b) much larger portions you expect from a hole in the wall Mercosur oriented food establishment; my meat - while tasty and as requested - a well prepared medium rare - was so small it reminded me of a child's lunch in a junior high cafeteria. Will I go back? Hmmm, I confess that depends more on the weather than my own mood(iness). . .

Back when Mi Toro was actually Mi Toro, the service WAS fantastic. They recently changed owners and now the service is ATROCIOUS! First and foremost, we ordered a specific item, and the waitress assured is it was in the process of being made, and after we questioned her about how much longer it would take, she then told us the cook's assistant never made it because she doesn't know how to!!!! It took her 25 mins to come clean! So, she LIED to us. Clearly, the new owners of the restaurant hasn't heard of food prepping, and if you don't have any item available, don't lie to your customers. In addition, we also found hair in my bf's mashed potatoes, which means they don't use hair nets. They also automatically charge your credit card at a 20% tip, which is the reason why they possibly don't care what kind of service they offer! They never even offered an apology! PLEASE DON'T GO TO THIS RESTAURANT, and if you do, you have been warned.

I just gave this place another chance and it failed again. Expensive lunch special and very, very small portions. It used to be really good and they didn't take advantage of their good reputation. Never again. Good luck.

Literally the first time ive ever written a review. I used to go here all the time. I noticed they were closed for a week or two and when i came to eat after they reopened apparently they had gotten a new owner. I had a hard time communicating with them because i dont speak Spanish. But anyways i ordered the lomo lunch special for me and my boyfriend which the menu said was 9.99 each for two sides and drink. My bill ended up being $37. They said there was nothing they could do because they had "gotten a new manager" and the menu was different and they never told me this until AFTER i ate!!!!

This used to be a great place - it is far from it now. We went there a Saturday night, and the place was dark. We went in to find the waiting/kitchen laying down watching TV. That should have raised a flag but we stayed because we have been here before and it was always great. The meal was average and even though the service was decent, we won't be coming back.

Very nice server (although didn't know English and her Spanish was ok). I tried the spicy fish platter. Huge portions and great flavor. Quick and friendly service and tasty food. What more could you want?

omg this place sucks!!! this is my story here, I went on Saturday april 18 in the afternoon, we sat bythe waitress I salute and I put the menus and went, we wanted to order and drinks because we knew what to order, the case that after 10 m she came over took our drink order and as I knew I was going to go order a meal with my boyfriend who I was, when I get the food I asked more bread than I could if bringing the two waitresses who were were running as if the restaurant had been full! I think this place had just four seated tables. water had asked never came! and bread ever .. the other people around me they looked very angry too, my boyfriend and I wanted to order dessert but the waitress never again approached the table when She finally looked i asked her a box to take out, but she just took me the box and not even offered me dessert usually with my boyfriend ordered dessert, I was very angry that the only thing I wanted was the check and go! when suddenly the waitress arrives with a bag saying that was the bread that you asked me , it was frozen ??? ok ???? she was not able to accept that she had forgotten! for anything I return to this place well be the last in miami!!i

I always enjoy eating here. Service is usually pretty good and the food is excellent, especially for fast food standards.

I've been to this place a ton of times, and its true, the restaurant is bare, but the food is great. I use the drive-thru and even though it isn't fast food, its good food fast enough. I love the Choripan and Milanesas! Prices are good, and food is good.

Sometimes being a hole in the wall isnt a good thing.... Management was very disrespectful right off the bat. As I'm parking the "owner" comes out with his phone yelling about towing my car thinking I was going to the cafe next door. After shrugging off the miscommunication I enter a very dimly lit cafeteria style exposed kitchen. After more mediocre service I finally get my lomo saltado, which almost looked reheated... Yeah the price is cheap but deff not worth the time. As I'm leaving I see the owner yelling with another customer who accused him of getting his car towed... super sketchy. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

This is my 1st time here and I simply love this place. I was very curios with the fusion Peruvian and Argentinian idea. I must say I don't regret it. I started with the ceviche as an appetizer and they nailed it. And as a main course I had the Rib Eye steak- WOW! The flavors and the seasoning of both dishes were just perfect and to top it all off the price was right and the service was good! I simply love this place from the moment I walked in until the I walked out.
