Dear Los Ranchos - how I have missed you. I don't understand why you do not have perfect ratings here. I went to dine here, reluctantly, but so happy I did. I have a dear friend visiting from Australia. I took her here since it's been so long since I have visited. I told her that I remembered this place being wonderful but no guarantees as the ratings did not seem up to par. I'm glad it was exactly the same as it used to be. The steak was unbelievably good and so was the grilled chicken. The portions were fantastic and the service was polite. Was it expensive? Yes it was. Was it worth it?, Absolutely. You have never disappointed me and thank you for being the same wonderful restaurant I have experienced in the past. I shall show you're disappointed users and readers that don't know any better how wonderful you are by displaying a couple of photos of your delicious food. Have a wonderful night, I look forward to seeing you again.

Loved how they re-vamped the place! The view is great and location also, great place to walk around and visit before a heat game or an event in the downtown Miami area. The tres leeches is amazing and the churrasco is great as well very juicy not dry at all and everything is very well proportioned. Staff was very attentive and I recommend coming here! ps- the chimmichuri (green sauce) they give is great spread some on the steak rice and bread! Gives it a great kick!

Since its relocation, the place has definitely been upgraded in terms of interior design-- great lighting and view of the bay and AA stadium. Food is also great tasting, having some typical dishes from Nicaragua. However, where the restaurant lacks is in customer service. Having been to this location a few times, I've noticed the larger groups are more attended to than the smaller parties. Tried several times to catch my waiter's attention to bring certain items, like silverware or the steak sauces, and repeatedly they forgot. I understand larger parties are more difficult to manage but some service fairness needs to be done.

Not worth the money.. Better chance going to pinolandia and get a bang for your buck. $55 dollar check for two people with just one main course. Tables are covered with cheap paper like the ones at the doctor. Didn't even want to tip cause of horrible service. Deserves 1 Star..

So this was another one of my pregnancy cravings. I'm not usually a fan homestyle Nicaraguan food but during my pregnancy all I craved was rice dishes (I sure do love rice though). Unfortunately for me, the rice is offered in abundance. After about 6 spoon fulls I told the server it was way more than enough. I ate every single grain of rice and devoured the carne asada and maduros that accompanied my main dish (rice). I will definitely try this place again when I'm not pregnant. I hope to like it just as much but with some control on the rice. LOL

Last year they moved to the second floor of Bayside and have created a more modern atmosphere. No longer do you get to see the inside of the kitchen, but by being on the second floor you have a better view of the water. Service starts out with toasted bread you can dip in the chimichurri or red onion sauce. I always order the Baby Churrasco for $19. It comes with a salad, beans/rice, and fried plantain chips. The meat is well seasoned and is not chewy. The rice/beans and plantain chips are unlimited! The service is always excellent with water being refilled and plates cleared without asking. The restaurant is large and so there was no wait on the Saturday night we visited. There is a large bar area by the front entrance. My friend's beer at dinner was only $4 which seemed good for Miami! Parking is available in the Bayside parking garage or there is nearby metered street parking. I highly recommend this place. I have been dining here for years and it is always delicious.

Honestly best food I've had, I'm visiting in Florida and this place is just amazing. I had the baby presidente which is steak had it medium well done and for my first time having steak it was delicious. Full of flavor! Also had it with a salad, crispy banana and soft banana and with rice and beans! :)

The atmosphere is Miami. Since its on the Port Side Bay of causeway the second story location can offer a nice view and by night the city and boat lights makes for nice ambiance. The staff is bi-lingual, helpful, proffesional and resourceful when it comes to making accommodations. With a full bar and moderate wine list the mood and spirits can be lifted to fully enjoying the Nicaraguan Cuisine at Miami's Bayside. Highly recommended was the whole Snapper "Tipitapa" (deboned and lightly seasoned). Fresh and perfectly cooked it was on point with the selected red wine. As we were maximizing the experience... The signature dish Churrasco Los Ranchos was combined with the Tipitapa making our own specialty Surf and turf ( a great combo). The house salad, red beans rice and plantains were nice as sides. Wrapped up the feast with the Martini Classico, which set the perfect mood for a stroll on the bayside after dinner. (Especially since I am 2 martini charming! Lol :) enjoy your experience here.

Moved to new spot upstairs from original location. Smaller area, but very nice and upscale without those high prices. Churrasco steak with gallo pinto ( rice and red beans) and plantain chips is my favorite. The 12oz charbroiled tenderloin steak is flavorful and delicious. Located in Bayside in downtown Miami, across from the arena. Go you won't be disappointed.

Good steaks with unlimited rice and beans with plantain chips. New location upstairs is nice and modern and is still able to fit large tables.

My family and I were so excited to visit this restaurant -- we were very eager to have Nicaraguan food in Miami! Unfortunately, we had an absolutely terrible experience with one of the restaurant's managers, Cecilia. We got there right when the lunch/dinner menus were changing, but we were handed lunch menus and were told we could order from them. However, after we placed our order, the waitress told us she actually had to give us the dinner prices. We weren't so upset about the upcharge -- it was more that the manager came over to answer some of our questions and had an absolutely awful attitude. She was unbelievably aggressive and rude, even to her servers, who were actually doing a decent job. We were a huge group of about 12 people and she put a massive damper on the entire mood. At one point, someone at the table said they were upset and wouldn't be giving the restaurant a great review because of her, and she rolled her eyes and just said, "Sounds perfect," and walked away. The restaurant itself was okay -- we just sincerely hope they get their act together. Their crappy managers might explain why it was so empty when we visited. If you want authentic Nicaraguan food, go somewhere else -- you'll probably find it cheaper, and you won't get a serving of rudeness.

DOWNTOWN LUNCH SPOT For a group of twenty, our choice of lunch restaurants is most limited. On this particular afternoon there was a notice taped to the front door that the a/c was out of order. Yu-go was first to arrive but the wait staff would not seat him in this all but most empty restaurant. In Miami, it's Spanish spoken first then English. Conversation amongst the wait staff was openly fluid and jovial but not so when it was time be served. I'll just leave it there. The lunch specials are of excellent value especially the Churrasco Los Ranchos. It was incredibly tasty and a most tender experience especially for a downtown lunch. As for the a/c, it was working fine towards the completion of our lunch.

I was pleasantly surprised at this location... Still trying to figure out why it was so empty when the service was great and the food even better. This Los Ranchos is just like any other one but what makes this one extra especial is the amazing view to the bay.. day or night if you seat by the window you will have something to look at. Of course I had the churrasco and it was perfectly cooked. For those of you who have never been here, whatever protein you order comes with the same sides unless you really want something different. Rice and beans (gallo pinto), maduros (fried plantains) and mariquitas (plantain chips). I kinda dig how the servers come and serve tableside. Place is clean, music was a little loud but I would def come back here if I am ever at bayside again. Much better than trying to get into the chaotic-too full usual places just down the hall with 45 min waits.. yea- not doing that.

I could eat here everyday if I could. I have season tickets for the Miami Heat, and I come here before every game. The service may be slow sometimes, but my favorite restaurant in Miami. Puntas Casinos. The best.

Los Ranchos in Bayside, what a waste of time and money. I came here to celebrate my wife's birthday and this restaurant tries to recreate a more elegant ambiance with there high ceilings and glass windows with a view of the AA arena where the miami heat play and the port of Miami but failed misrably at it. Somehow they believe that it can still cover all there tables with the same loud and obnoxious paper they use at your local doctors office while still charging you and avg of 25 a plate. The service was horrible and slow, over an hour to make my child's plate of grilled chicken and french fires( a whole hour!!!) And when the fries came out they were cold. They obviously don't know how to follow proper protocol when it comes to cooking steak because my guest all asked for the steaks well done and all of them had to be sent back to be cooked more. Anyone who is or have tried real Nicaraguan food from places like the mad cane and pinolandia will tell you that the rice and beans they serve which are called Gallo pinto are nothing like the original. SIMPLY TASTLESS. The only thing that was decent to eat was the appetizer which was a tostone cover with meat and cheese. Menu says beers are 4 dollars when your check comes you'll see that are actually 5.50 which still isn't that bad for miami prices but then again your not on South Beach. All and all a very forgetful experience. Slow service and overpriced tastless Nicaraguan food. Recommend you go to Caña brava to get real tasty food at a fraction of the cost.

This restaurant was surprisingly (for us) very good and excellent service. We had the President Churrasco which was served in the exact term we orderd it. The quality of the food in general was very good and service excellent. The view was beautiful.

The chimichurri sauce is the best! Everything else is ok. Chimichurri sauce makes the meal!!!

Surprisingly, very well priced. I ordered the carne asada, which was 5oz of meat, came with plantain chips and rice and beans for a lunch special of $7.50. The carne asada was very juicy and flavorful! The plantain chips were delicious too, and I put the green cilantro sauce that was supposed to go with the bread on the chips. The sauce was too yummy! The view of the boats on the dockside at Bayside was definitely a plus! The only thing lacking was service, nobody noticed we finished our meal for a very long time.

    (4)
  • Michelle C.

Food was good. Service was horrible though, no one asks how you are or how's the food. Server was obviously in a rush and did not care about my questions or my order. Not worth the money.

I am still here and I feel compelled to write this review. THE SERVICE HERE IS TERRIBLE!! I thought it kinda funny how all the restaurants in this very nice shopping center were busy and poppin' and this one is virtually empty. That should have been my first clue. Hostess never smiled once while greeting or seating us or any customer. Server welcomed us snd asked fir our drink order. As soon as I start looking at the menu, he turns around and walks away! We had to flag him twice, he would look at us and continue to set up tables around us. After he took our order, I got my drink but my husband never got his; had to flag him down again. No apology. Never saw him until we had to flag him for the check. Never came to check how our food was, no refills. Our rice was served to us with tongs, making a mess on our table. Steak was bland and gray; no "sear". I felt like I was earting steamed steak. Bland rice. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.

Love this restaurant. No matter when we come down here I always eat here or at one of their other locations. Sometimes I don't have time to eat there so I carry out as well. We found this place out by accident years ago and loved it ever since. We order the churrasco Los ranchos which is amazing. A grilled skirt steak cooked to your preference and very tender. They services it with rice and beans, sliced and sweet plantains. It comes with salad and bread with different sauces that are all good. Service is nice in some locations and different in others. I've been to all their locations and like them all except one. Maybe one day we will adventure outside of what we normally order but it's what I eat when I visit there because where I live, there's nothing close.

If I could leave less than a star I would . This place has horrible service as soon as we walk through the door we are greeted by someone saying the bathroom is out of service . Once we are seated we were completely ignored not even water was brought to our table. 20 minutes pass and still no water no waiter another group of people come in and are helped immediately. Needless to say we just got up and left the restaurant. We will not be returning to this place ever again .

While in my mini vacation in FL I decided to give this place a try. The food was very good but what killed for me was the Terrible service. Our waitress was beyond rude, when my sister had asked for a certain type of beverage she brought the wrong one, which we very politely brought to her attention. Her response was very rude and didn't ask to switch the beverage. When the food arrived my brother got a whole different plate from what he had originally ordered. She never came to the table to check on us and when we got her attention to ask for two more sets of silverware she vanished and never came back w them. We had to get it from an empty table. I truly hope management takes better charge of their staff bc quite frankly the restaurant could potentially be a 5 star place but with unprofessional staff like this the chances are slim to that ever happening.

Really slow service. We had to waive at the manager to take our order after being seated for almost 15 minutes, he didn't introduce himself or welcomed us, bussers were on point serving us water and bread. The hostess was really nice. Hopefully the food will be better than the service, as now, I have no idea who's my server and how long my food will take to be made. Such a shame. I was hoping more. So..... Food was terrible! The menu is so empty! Only one salad and 3 soups! .... The plantain chips were old and they only gave me 2 little pieces of sweet plantains... We tipped 20% bc we work in the industry and we know bussers work really hard so we tipped them!! A server never came to our table to see if everything was ok, in fact the manager is the one who brought the food to our table... HORRIBLE Service! I don't want to come back at all. I left hungry and ended up getting a cheese and guayaba pastelito somewhere else. I choose The Knife over this place a million times!!

Today we at the Bay side location which was previously at a down stairs, now has a beautiful view! Decent lunch menu. Two of ate and had half a carafe of sangria for $25, without tip. Since it was the lunch, service was fast.

3.5 Speakin' of beaten path Nothing says tourist fun like 'round the Bayside/Biscayne area We chose this spot since my feet were killin' me (cute booties no comfy) Good timing - good eats Yummy minty mojito Crushed mints were so refreshing I was nursing this treat Their fowl breast was grilled and butterfly-cut to pack much flavor Tender, moist, and easy House salad not too vinegary Chorizo made me thirsty but water was always plenty Took the sweet plantains to the hotel (flavor saver)

Great location and the absolute most tender tenderloin steak we have had in a long time. Churrasco presidente was great with the chimichurri sauce . The rice has great flavor. The restaurant is located upstairs at Bayside marketplace next to Foot Locker. We also ordered the tres leches cake and that was also delicious. The service was ok..not great. The waiter seemed to be in his little world and wasn't super friendly. Some other staff members we saw were very nice though. Overall it was a great experience because the food was great

Amazing food. No doubt about it. The churrasco is to die for, but the service is not good at all. They are rude and do not care to make a pleasant dining experience.

I used to like this place.... The food was good, except for the tortillas. I wanted real tortillas, not paper. The service was horrible. We were left unattended for so long, we almost got up to leave. The waiter was rude, terrible customer service. Then, he left our table unattended for so long, we had to ask someone else for the bill. I'm definitely not going back.

    (2)
  • Megan C.

Extremely bad customer service. Manager is rude. The server got the order wrong and the manager wanted to charge to change the order to the correct order. The people working here are extremely rude and I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone again.

Stopped in here for some beers and a snack Friday afternoon as my other half browsed through the shopping plaza. Sat at the bar. The bartender, Alex, was very attentive and efficient. Poured my Presidente ($5.50) into a frosty glass. Nice. For a snack, I ordered the homemade pork sausages ($5). Two small, meaty, flavorful sausages accompanied by plantains and garlic sauce. Very good. And just enough to tide me over. Just be advised the gratuity (15%) is included in the bill.

Great view and delicious food. Finding the place was a bit of a challenge for out of town visitors. The location in the mall a little minus because of the parking.

Look, there's like 500,000 Argentine steak houses in Miami. This one is convenient to work and the food is pretty decent. The service can be hella slow at some points, so don't go there expecting to get in and out in a hurry. But, good rice and beans and plantain chips, good table sauces, so the 3 stars is probably more like 3.49.

    (3)
  • Gigi M.

Try their Churrasco Presidente. Super juicy and very tender. Best Churrasco steak I ever had! Their Tres Leches cake was amazing too. Try seating close to the window facing the bay for the view is spectacular. Recommend making a reservation for a table facing the bay.

  • John V.

Good place to get a steak. I would suggest the smallest steak they offer because the real star here is the 3 sauces, chimichurri , salsa, and pickled onions in vinegar.....plantain chips, beans and rice, and a nice salad. They also bring nice hot roasted plantains at the end. Oh yeah - great garlic bread as well Good, if uninspired service............

I am so conflicted as I write this review. I've been to this restaurant so many times. The food is spectacular. It has been great every single time including yesterday but the service we received yesterday was terrible. Our waiter took our drink order and served our drinks and that's it! Not once did he stop to ask if everything was okay or refilled our drinks. Actually, he never came back. I tried to get his attention as he walked past our table and he waved at me like saying no! And then just never came back. We had to ask a different waiter for our bill. I don't know if I'll be back. If I do return, I will request a different waiter.

Boyfriend and I had a great and rather affordable steak lunch date at Los Ranchos. We ordered their famed "Churrasco steaks" which automatically come with salad, bread, gallo pinto, sweet and dried plaintains. Boyfriend went for the 12 oz while I chose the 8oz. "Baby Churrasco". Quickly after placing out order, arrived our salads (house salad with tomatoes, onions, and yummy dressing), garlic toasted bread which seemed to poof into powder in your mouth when you take a bite. Then came our steaks with accompanying sauces: chimichurri (yes please!), salsa, and pickled onions in vinegar. I was a bit disappointed my rare steak was not as "ROJO" as I requested- I wasn't kidding when I told you to bring the cow mooing rojo. There was even a red "rare" toothpick in my steak and even my boyfriend thought it was overcooked more to his liking "blue toothpick" of medium. I was too hungry at that point to wait for a more rare steak and figured the seasoning would mask the medium-ness of the steak. For a medium steak it was A-OK. Out came the servers spooning heaping portions of gallo pinto and plaintains. All around pretty good meal and lunch. Not the best gallo pinto or plaintains I've ever eaten but they did the job just fine. I love the bottles of Malbec sitting on the table even though I did not get a chance to try it. Maybe next time! I liked how there was a restaurant sporting some Nicaraguan flare to Argentinian dishes across the street from American Airlines Arena aka Home of the Heat.

Beautiful View of the AAArena but horrible service. My husband and I love this place but not anymore. We will not be going to This Los ranchos anymore. The waiter looked as if he did not want to serve us. And our food took forever to get to us. We were not even seated. We had to sit ourselves. I am disappointed.

  • Ling S.

The boyfriend and I had a Heat game to attend at the AA Arena that night, so we decided to just go early to beat the parking traffic and hang around Bayside. We decided to try Los Ranchos seeing that they advertise "best steak in Miami." I got to tell you, it wasn't a bad meal. I enjoyed the baby churrasco. Paired with the chimichurri they serve on the table, it was enjoyable. Is it the best steak in Miami? No, not really, but I ate everything. They will come by and give you as much rice/beans and chips as you like. I thought that was cool. The service is kind of slow. They're quick to take your order, then disappear for ever after. My recommendation is to avoid Bayside all together if you can. Definitely a tourist trap. Watch out... They automatically add 15% gratuity!!!

Good food, good view. Good lunch option. I had the steak tenderloin with fried cheese and guacamole. It was served with rice & beans and plantain chips. THey also give you a tiny salad to start. Overall good lunch and lots of food.

Always a classy place. The service is always impecible, they really show the gratitude of having you there. The view is great, watching out the window towards the marina (of course you wish you were there). The food? Go for the Executive Lunch! My favorite is the BBQ Ranchero. It brings a slightly smaller churrasco serving but it brings a spanish sausage and fried cheese. Mix in some gallo pinto (their version of rice and mixed) as well as plantain chips ) and you're good to go. Still hungry. Tres Leches. Done!!

We had planned on dinnet at Bongos just before our concert but they had closed down so we walked across the street and chose Los Ranchos as it was close and we've eaten at their Falls location many times and always walked away with a smile. There is no smiling about today's experience. The welcome was awful with the waitress saying "oh, you are here before the concert TOO!", the water and bread arrived with our meal, and the meat was like eating a sand castle. When we complained to the manager, we were assured that there was no crunch in our steaks and that our mouths were imagining the crackling. How sad for a restaurant who normally has legendary service in our area to be so different here. Major thumbs down.

    (1)
  • Robert P.

While the churrasco, rice and plantains are awesome and it reminds you of home cooking don't let your kids eat the steak from the kids menu. Kids don't complain, they just don't eat when they don't like it. I tried a piece from my daughter's plate and all I was eating was fat. I complained to the manager and showed the manager that more than half of the piece on the plate was not eaten and they still charged me. The menu should change from kids steak to kids fat.

  • Mo P.

The meat and chicken had a nice woody flavor but as I started eating them my nose starting itching and stuffing. I have an allergy to those artificial liquid smoke flavorings and that's what they probably use at this place. The beans and rice were cold and they serve them to you at the table, almost running you over with the tray from where they serve them. The place is overpriced for the quality of the food, service and setting, not worth coming back :(

    (3)
  • Michael P.

very high quality food here, not to mention unlimited rice and beans with plantains, on top of that you have 3 great sauces and bread . It was very good and fresh all of it for dessert we had the cuatro leches and all we want now is that it was the best , only bad thing is it is in that tourist trap bayside where the parking is outrageous.

  • Guylaine P.

My business partner and I had lunch there today, the waiter did not acknowledge us, he began to poor water in our dirty glasses and placed our silverware on the table without saying a word to us. I ordered steak, rice with red beans. The rice was dry the meat was chewy. Food was low quality ... I wish I went to Pollo Tropical instead. I have to admit I ordered a Apple Martini which turned out to be okay. . I have eaten there before 2 or 3 years ago I sometimes would stop in before or after Heat games. The service and food has declined I will not return or recommend this restaurant . As we were walking out two members of the staff were sitting at the bar and did not say goodbye service was awful.

I went to this restaurant with my co-workers, we arrived around 11:45am to make sure we don't have the rush hour from a Friday noon. It took to the waitress 15mins to ask us what we want for drinks, 15mins more to take our orders, food came on time since is not the waitress that serves. Great food by the way, pricy but good, but I have to stand up walk to get our waitress to get the bill. Service really really bad.

They used to have the best steak in Downtown. They've recently switched locations and for some reason, the service & food quality has gone down drastically. We've been treated very rudely on multiple occasions, over charged, and have been served some mediocre meat. Perhaps they changed ownership? Upsetting because this was my favorite restaurant in town.

Haven't even gotten my food yet and I'm rating it I don't see why food should take this long and we are not checked up on by the staff.. I'm a patient person but c'mon now.

  • Naomi G.

I was appalled at the service I received today. I've been to this location many times. We ordered an appetizer that was never brought to our table. We were never checked on to see how we were doing with our meal. It was a very slow day there was only 2 other tables, I didn't understand why we had such bad service. One table who had not been attended got up and left the restaurant after waiting for some time. There was one waiter on his cell phone. Apparently our waitress left and we never go assigned a new one nor did anyone bother to stop and attend us until we got up from our table to ask for help. Finally, we asked for the manager who didn't speak English, explained our disappointment and all he said was "I'm sorry and don't leave a tip". I couldn't believe this service that you would get from what was once an excellent restaurant.

I've been here a handful of times for business lunches, but I've never tried it for dinner. For lunch it never seems terribly busy, the service is usually good and attentive, the food is very good and the lunch menu is very reasonably priced. On my most recent visit, I had the grilled tenderloin steak and onions. They start you out with a house salad and a few slices of their toasted garlic bread (tasty, but a bit brittle and the crumbs always go everywhere). Once the steaks are delivered to the table, a server comes by to add a generous portion of gallo pinto (rice and beans) and fried plantains to your plate. Everything was delicious, especially when I tried a bit of their parsley and garlic sauce with my steak (as other reviewers have mentioned, there are 3 different sauces on the table for you to sample with your meal). In all, Los Ranchos is one of the better lunch options in this general area, and definitely offers more than one might expect from a restuarant located in a more touristy location such as Bayside.

Outstanding food at a good price. You can't leave here hungry! I recommend the Churrasco Los Ranchos medium rare, delicious! Don't be put off by the average service, that's typical for Miami.

Churrasco mmmm. I am a meat lover & the way they season their meat here is mouth watering. Soo much food is included in the specials. Garlic butter bread, salad, churrasco, arroz, maduros, & platanos !

There has only been one trip to Miami, where I didn't include a visit to Los Rancho's, because of time constraints. A very late layover, leaving very early in the morning. Still kick myself for not tweaking that trip to give me the chance to go. I love the Churrasco with rice and beans. and fried plantains. Had it first in Colombia, Cali, at Rancho de Jonas, and when I found this place, it has stayed on my top 10 in the country for places I have to go. You are missing out. Wish they had one in Utah.

EASY AUTHENTIC LATIN FOOD. If you've got one night in downtown Miami before hopping on a cruise ship, and you want to try some authentic Latin food without breaking the bank or getting lost in the 'hood, Los Ranchos is the place for you! Los Ranchos is a Nicaraguan restaurant that specializes in steak. You can get a full meal including bread, salad and side dishes for under $20/person, which makes it one of the best deals in town. They also have some tasty condiments on the table so you can sample the flavors and spices of the region without committing to a whole entree. They have a kids menu. I'm a vegetarian, and our waiter was kind enough to offer to do the fajitas with veggies and cheese instead of chicken or beef. The restaurant is located in Bayside Marketplace, which is a nice walkable shopping center on the water. You could do a little shopping, have dinner, go for a walk around Bayfront Park, and have some gelatto for dessert on the second floor of the marketplace. There's often live music in the park, and the proximity to the water makes it breezy and comfortable at all times of the year. Los Ranchos isn't the chicest place in town, nor is its food the very best you can get, BUT it is certainly one of the most accessible places to sample real Latin food, especially for tourists. You can't go wrong with Los Ranchos.

Well, the atmosphere is nice, and so are the busboys... The best part of our meal was the garlic bread and the house salad. The taco appetizer came with a hair from the chef, and our steaks had absolutely no flavor and were tough. Oh, and the flan, had a horrific smell. Definitely not coming back.

This was a good restaurant. The ambiance is upscale and looks nice. The meat is well marinated and the portion sizes are generous. The gallo pinto was moist and the maduros crisp. Overall this place is definitely worth eating at. Only downside the undertone of machismo- asking the men at the table what they wanted to order first and then expecting them to order for the women-- I first I thought it was just for drinks, but it got annoying real fast by the time we got through with the entree orders.

Nicaraguan food is good but here it was way too overpriced for the food they serve. Not much better than the fritangas place i went to earlier this morning. I came by recommendation. Too expensive but a nice place to eat. Food is plain.

As a Nicaraguan I love this place! Closest to eating a true Nicaraguanchurrasco in the USA.I like the service, their gallo pinto and tajadas.

Some coworkers introduced me to Los Ranchos @ 4th and Biscayne, Bayside. For lunch, it's an unbeatable value. I usually order the BBQ Ranchero. For $9.00 you get bread, salad and a wonderful steak (tender and full of flavor), not to mention beans, rice, sausage and fried cheese. I always leave this place satisfied. The service is friendly, attentive and very professional. It's Nicaraguan style steak at a great value. This place has become a weekly tradition here in the office. Highly recommended for lunch.

Was my Concierge related??? It was a strong recommendation made from my hotel concierge that I "must try " this place. Our first night in Miami and we were so excited and hungry a piece of card board would have tasted great. Well first the good. It's situated in a lovely area with cafés and stores right by the water. Pretty views getting there and you can walk off the meal. That is about all I have to say that's nice. The bad We were one of 2 tables our waitress had yet we only saw her at order time and at check time. Yes a buser did stop by to fill sodas but a simple how is your meal? Would have been nice if I needed something. The meal itself comes with a simple salad and no other dressing option but a vinaigrette. Do you have ranch? I ask the waitress. And just like the soup nazi she replies. " no ranch for you". Ok....? They give you two hard pieces of bread and put 3 salsas? Condiments? It was never explained but an onion mixture, another is an onion mixture in tomato sauce and pesto sauce on third. We add it to the bread wondering if that's what you do or is this for the meal. Really nothing special either way. The meal comes with the meat on plate but a waiter starts adding rice and plantain chips to my meal. My bf isn't paying attention that he has to tell them when to stop ( they never said that but it's implied) and next thing I know his plate is mounded with chips and rice like some type of frito pie. They finally stop. What was the purpose of that ? Our meal is nothing special. Bf says he has never had such bad fajitas and makes the remark that the airport had better food. The desserts sound appetizing but I don't want to risk it. Bon Jovi and led zeppelin are blaring over the speakers and it seems out of sorts for the fancy look of this place. We get our tab and gratuity is added. Strange since I saw that nowhere. It's 15% which is far less than I tend to give for even bad service but I'm annoyed it's there so I leave it at that. We get up to leave and still maybe only 2 other tables there. Shows you a lot when a bustling area like that has empty dining. A family comes in as I leave. I feel like grabbing them and warning them but I hold my tongue. Just not great for us today.

Yes, this restaurant is very touristy located in a very touristy area in touristy Bayside Marketplace. But yes, this restaurant delivers a solid Churrasco complete with Gallo Pinto (rice & beans) and fried sweet plantains, which add the perfect sweet element to dinner. Not bad, not amazing, but solid.

  • Gaby S.

I came here for a friends birthday ready to indulge in a yummy churrasco. Got there and the service was quick and attentive which i loved. I ordered the baby churrasco. Every meal comes with a salad which was ok.. nothing special. The steak came with platanitos mmm they were perfectly cooked! and gallo pinto (which i could probably eat a bucket of) I really liked the place overall. I had not been here for a couple of years and was pleased with the food and the service. I would definitely come back again and order some more gallo pincho to go!

  • Dan C.

Yes, I'm a fan of this restaurant. I love the food, and it satisfy my craving for beef. It's a nice restaurant and the prices are not too bad for being inside Bayside Marketplace. I do like the fact that the Gallo Pinto (rice with red beans) is unlimited and to me, that's the best thing in the menu. Usually i order a steak, eat half with rice, ask for more rice, and take the rest home :)

Nice setting with floor to ceiling windows and good view. Like other reviews, the salads & appetizers are not that good, but the churrasco steaks are tender.

Los Ranchos steakhouse is truly the place to go for the best Nicaraguan steak. This was my first time having Nicaraguan cuisine and I left wanting more... I ordered the "steak ranchero" (medium rare) with rice and sweet plantains. The meat was tender and juicy but most importantly full of flavor! They had three sauces, and each one complimented the steak beautifully; my favorite was the green one (not sure what it was made of, sorry). This place is a MUST if you are looking for great Nicaraguan food in Miami.

Food was good but the service was the worst. It started out fine but after we had our order taken the waitress disappeared she never came back. The appetizer that I ordered was never brought out. Dinner was brought to us by another waiter. No one ever stopped by to check on us to see if we needed anything or to check if we were alright. I waited 30 min after we were done eating before getting up to ask to speak to the manager. The manager came to the table shortly after. I explained to him what had happen to us and that at this time we still haven't even gotten our check. He's response was "oh sorry but if you feel you didn't have good service it states on your bill that you don't need to leave any tip if you didn't feel that the service was good". Now mind you they only had 3 other tables. Also while we were their a table of 8 had sat down but after 15min of no one approaching them they got up and left. Wish we would have done that.

I come here everytime I am in Miami. I have tried churrasco at several other south american steak houses in Miami, but none compare. The steak is so tender you can cut it with a fork. It has the perfect seasoning, and the chimichurri just adds to the perfection. They serve warn plantains with it (WHICH I LOVE), as well as red beans and rice and plantain chips. My boyfriend had the medallions, which were also very good, but I have to say I would order the churrasco every time. The service is always great as well. There is live music there often, and it's in a great location.

  • Daniel B.

Very disappointing meal. The salad was simply tasteless, the churrasco was simply ok, the sides where nothing to write home about. Other than the view there really is nothing good about this place. Will not be coming back here.

  • Kimberly M.

This place is fantastic. My steak was perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, and oh so flavorful. Everything from the salad and bread with tasty toppings that they brought out for starters to the beans and rice that went with my main dish was just perfect! The early dinner prices are only about $10 and that is a STEAL for what you get.

*sucks teeth* I really wanted to give Los Ranchos more stars but the service was terrible! We were a group of 12 with a reservation made far in advance. Plans changed and we ended up arriving at 5:15pm. No problem, right? Wrong! We were made to WAIT until 6:00pm by the hostess. After us asking many times what was taking so long to seat us, she actually said, "Well your reservation was for 6, RIGHT?" Ummm, the restaurant, at that point, was basically empty. So what was the problem again? When we were finally seated, our waitress, Milna/Milda, was the absolute worst. She begrudgingly took our food orders and we barely ever saw her again unless we put forth extreme effort to catch her, i.e. getting up or sending another waiter to find her. We had our salads about 15 minutes before we ever saw beverages. Some people didn't get their food. Was Milda around for us to notify? Absolutely not. After eating, we all sat back from the table, many with hands folded and plates cleaned, Milna/Milda passed by as if we were still feeding off the empty plates. We had a package deal but she made it seem as if she was surprised we were going to order dessert and then like we were trying to get over when asking for coffee, even though it was included in the package!!! She actually showed an attitude about bringing coffee to the table! After all of these shenanigans, of course the Churrasco lived up to its reputation. Sooo tender, flavored perfectly and married so well with the Chimichurri. The Rice & Beans & Sweet Plaintains accompanying the meat were decent. Unfortunately, the terrible service of the night makes the food an afterthought. I'll likely return to Los Ranchos but DEFINITELY not at this location.

Complete disappointment! I remember when this restaurant used to be good. Besides their overprice stake their service is below average! They claim to have a classy place, but the only classy they had was their prices. Stake was ok but nothing out of this world. Chimichurri sauce extremely sour, and good luck asking for water. I remember back in the days when this chain of restaurants used to be the best of the best of Nicaraguan cuisine. Now all they have to show is their overprice stakes and their rude staff. :(

(Lunch Time Review) Ambiance: Casual Food: Great for meats I've only been here for lunch time. This is pretty much a staple of Bayside. When it comes to stereotypical upscale-touristy food, this place has it nailed. Most of the time, except for holidays (especially end of year), the restaurant has a good crowd and no wait. The lunch menu is always a reduced price and should be your choices for lunch over their standard menu to save a buck and still get the same level of quality. When you order, you are ordering the main dish and everyone receives moro rice with plaintain chips; so don't be afraid of being left hungry. On some occasions I have the espresso or the flan, both of with are great. Bottom Line: Recommended

Over the last couple of years, this restaurant has gone downhill. The food was horrible. I presented my Restaurant.com coupon on my phone and the rude manager would not accept it. She was extremely unprofessional and did not even come to our table to speak with us. This is the last time we visit this establishment.

Yes it is in a touresty strip mall on the bay...but I have eaten here for YEARS and it has never failed to deliver a perfect steak and great service - granted, at a price, but it is a GREAT restaurant. If you find yourself downtown, or going to an event at the Arena, you owe it to yourself to stop by. A true four star!!!

We ate here for lunch on Memorial Day. We noticed that it was Zagat rated and had a great view of the harbor, being on the end of the plaza. We started with a very fresh green salad with vinigarette and delicious crisp garlic bread. Tio Pepe steak and the whole red snapper deep fried came out next. Rice and beans and plantains accompanied everything. We loved the food. The sevice was good too. My only comment is that all the servers look sort of unhappy and severe.

Big fan of Los Ranchos. Nicauraguan steakhouse. I think it's worth the 4 stars for the gallo pinto. I could eat a bucket of that ish.

I rate restaurants on a weighted, 100-point scale based service, food, cost, and ambiance. Los Ranchos received a 70. Yes it's in a strip mall, in the super tourist-y area of town. Yes it's noisy and caters to a large tourist population. Yes, the menus are plastic. The food makes up for all of those snooty faux pas. We had a group of 12, which they accommodated easily. The server was nice enough, and got our order right, but kept leaving, mid-order to talk to other servers. The bread was dry, but a billion times better with chimmichurri sauce. In fact, everything is better with chimmichurri sauce. My biggest point is, if you need to feed a big group on conference at bay Side, and you want good steak, go here. End of story.

We loved the Baby Churasco! $21+ for lunch but the meat was delicious and the side of beans and rice a perfect compliment. This location is on the waterfront. We sat by the window which was nice. We will be back!!! Yum!

This place is a must visit in Miami. Started off with the Queso Frito...it was OK. Nothing too special. Also had the shrimp ceviche which was very good. Had the Baby Presidente steak and that was amazing!! The chimichurri was fantastic!!! Really full of flavor. I highly recommend this place. The Tres Lechs cake was very good as well.

We had lunch at Los Rancheros. The food was great, the service was great ,and the food, I thought ,was reasonably priced. It all depends on your perspective. For $10. I had a large piece of grouper, nicely grilled; a huge plate of rice and beans, the toasted garlic bread ( yes very crumbly but good), a tossed salad with very tasty vinaigrette ( I had them put it on the side), plantain chips, and cooked plantain. We also had a condiment tray that included chimichurro, a sauce for steak, bread or whatever. It is a mixture of olive oil, garlic, parsley, and a few hot pepper flakes. Two other items were a spicy peppers and onions in tomato sauce and a jalapeno and onion mixture in vinegar. Both good on the rice and beans. There was more food than we could eat. Ity was our first meal in Miami. We would definitely eat there again.

I've been coming here for years. This visit, I tried the premium churasco while my wife had the regular churasco. You guessed it: NO DIFFERENCE. Still a good choice for dinner, but save yourself some money.

I was here for lunch while walking around Bayside Marketplace. I was not very impressed by the food here. Each table gets three sauces to share for your meal, non of which are that great. There were two onion sauces and a green sauce. And one of the onion "sauces" was really just chopped onions. If you order a side of rice and plantains, it gets served from a platter that the waiter brings to your table shortly after your entree. Not sure the reason behind this and why they can't simply add it to your plate before serving. Perhaps they are trying to show some extra service. But it is totally unnecessary. Their homemade pork sausage tasted like cardboard. And I was not a fan of the fried cheese. The stroganoff was slightly better. But that's really the only positive take-away I had from this restaurant. If you're in the neighborhood, do yourself a huge favor and look for other options, please.

We really enjoyed this place.... though I think I would classify it was a restaurant with an identity crisis. It's a little bit of Italian, Mexican, Latin, Spanish, and American, maybe a few others. They start you off with some Italian style garlic bread, which is pretty good. We started with an appetizer of Chorizo con Queso Fundido, which we both really enjoyed. I highly recommend that. The day we went was buy one get one free margaritas, so we had like six of those... very pleased about the price. My wife ordered chicken fajitas which she said were very good. I ordered the baby-back ribs, which were also quite good. In addition to our meals, they come around with rice and beans plus some plantain chips which were awesome. I love plantain chips. They have these three dipping sauces they put on the table also: one is a garlic/parsley sauce, another is sort of a sweet and sour with onions, peppers, etc., and the last is sort of a spicy onion/jalapeno dip. All were quite good. I would highly recommend this place... it seems like it might be a fancy place but we went in there in shorts and tshirts and had no problem. The service was good and we had a great time here and left stuffed to the gills.

Easily in my top 3 Miami meals. It's in an outdoor mall and the place is big and comfy overlooking the water and it's busy during lunch. I couldn't tell if it's a steak or Cuban or Latin restaurant - all I know is it was good. I got the Carne asada from the lunch menu and a salad. The garlic bread is tasty and crunchy, the basic salad was tasty but mine was drowning in dressing. The steak was carne asada was flavorful with a sweet yet spicy marinade and didn't need anyof the three sauces they put on the table for you. I enjoyed the rice and beans as well which tasted like they came from a grandma's yummy kitchen. I'm not a plantain person but you get chips and sweet plaintains. The prices were pretty good - about $50 for 3 of us to have a great lunch with no alcohol.

On a recent trip to Miami, I went to Los Ranchos at Bayside for a weekday lunch. I had pretty low expectations -- figuring a sit-down restaurant in downtown Miami that primarily caters to tourists and business people was going to be expensive and mediocre -- but Los Ranchos blew me away. The restaurant offers many inexpensive lunch specials starting at $6.99 -- almost cheaper than a fast food value meal while featuring generous portions of exceptionally tasty food served quickly -- in addition to its fine waterfront view. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. Meals start with garlic bread and three dipping sauces -- garlic/parsley sauce, sweet and sour sauce with onions, and a spicy onion/jalapeno sauce. Entrees are served along with rice & beans and plantain chips doled out by your server from a platter. Stick to the tried and true dishes - BBQ Ranchero (Charbroiled Beef Filet, Homemade Pork Sausage, and Fried Cheese) or the Tampiqueña (Beef Tenderloin Steak, Guacamole, and Fried Cheese) and you'll be satsified. Be forewarned that gratuity of 15% was included in the bill, which didn't bother me because the service was terrific.. I'd probably have tipped 18-20%.

I used to go to los ranchos as a little girl with my dad. It used to be awesome now it SUCKS. I got my bottle of wine after getting my cold nasty food. Wow even the queso frito was disappointing! Wtf? My bread was so hard it could cut glass! My server was nice but couldn't help that he had too many tables. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU ARE NOT HISPANIC AND HAVE NO NOTION OF GREAT NICA FOOD. If u want authentic nova.food go to fritanga managua in,hialeah! Lol seriously Nasty!

This place has the best churrasco I've ever had and the prices are pretty reasonable. The only cons are the automatic gratuity and the how busy the place gets.

    (4)
  • Harold R.

Definitely over priced for latin food. I mean its not like they have to import any of there ingredients. But the food is good.

    (3)
  • Joel M.

I enjoyed the food and the place was clean. They do a cool thing where they bring out a large platter of rice and beans on one half and plantain chips on the other half. I thought the prices were reasonable compared to many other restaurants. What I didn't enjoy is that they didn't bring enough tortillas out and when I asked for more they charged me! So I was already annoyed by that, then I see the bill and they automatically add a 15% tip (table for 2 at lunch). WTF, I didn't see that on the door or menu (must be small print at the back of the menu). So although I enjoyed the food and atmosphere, I will not be going back.

Great steak house given that it is located in a tourist shopping center. I visited this location with a couple members of my staff that are local to Miami, and this is their very favorite place, The best Churrasco that have had in Miami, very tender with wonderful sauces to add.

  • Anabelle B.

Ok place for Nicaraguan food, but definitely not the best. The prices are wayyy to high and the feel of the place is too stuffy. If I'm dying to eat Nica food and this is my only option, oh well, I'll eat it, otherwise, you can do a lot better in a City like Miami (Nicaraguans and Nicaraguan restaurants everywhere).

    (3)
  • Antony S.

i went to this restrurant once and it was ok the food was alright but the bad thing is that they give a little bit of food and its really expensive if u are desperate for nica food this is the place for u but u got to be full of money in ur pocket.

for tourists only. the view (IF you can get a table by the window) is ok. it's water, but not a clear view of it. the food is extremely fatty (fried, drown in butter, you name it). the sangria is deplorable; get bottled beer. they added 18% to our check. the service is what saved it. our guy was amiable enough. but still, 18%???
