Simple food, done right. Whenever I need a quick bite La Moon never fails to deliver. My boyfriend loves the SuperMoon Perro, but I'm more partial to the Perro Colombian. The empanadas are always crisp and delish, don't forget to put a little of there citrus-y hot sauce on it. Most foods on their menu are great to have for delivery also. If you haven't tried La Moon, dig in. You won't be disappointed.

some things never change. la moon. bless you for all the good times. i wasnt even planning on coming here but you know how that goes. drinks at transit, then you get hungry, then you walk to la moon. i was on my way home, but as i crossed 8th street, this cute blonde asked me. hey, is the colombian place that way? yes it is i said. then i noticed two other girls. they were all dressed up but none of them were wearing any shoes. i bet its very hard to walk straight on heels, especially when drunk. so suddenly, im surrounded by drunk cuties. my friend F got into it. she said, lets go eat with them. so we did. we were walking 5 feet behind them, but guess what. there was one more. another tipsy cutie. i was in heaven. i usually hate tourist but these chicago girls were very nice, friendly and very very pretty. so i walk into la moon.. with 5 ladies. everyone turns around cause you dont see white girls in calle ocho. i mean, seriously. i try to explain the menu to them, trying really hard not to melt like butter. what a task. i ended up getting the 'picada' which is not on the menu anymore. picada is a platter. comes with fried pork, different type of sausages, empanadas, potatoes... its huge. big enough to share with at least 3 others. the girls all got burgers and chicken sandwiches but to my surprise. the cutest one of all. the pretties, most angelical, most delicate thing... actually got the supermoon burger, you know. the one that comes with ham, cheese, a fried egg and even fries inside... she ate it all too. how cool is that? cheers to la moon, for all the good times, for all the laughs and for feeding me when drunk. i will definitely be back.

LOVE the Columbian hot dogs, it was my first time and it was great lol. Wish there was more of these around my area.

This place gets it right on so many fronts. Really the only negative comments I have about it are 1. don't expect amazing service. 2. this is NOT health food. Otherwise, order anything on the menu and enjoy the ride. I've had the Crazy Moon burger and it was indeed crazy. In all the right ways. I also got the traditional Columbian hot dog. Bomb. Along with that I had an order of salchipapas. Amazing. The prices are awesome as well. And they are open late. You can't lose by going here. In the figurative sense, and in the actual caloric sense. But who cares? Its worth it for when you get those late night, stuff your face cravings.

This place is yummilicious, whether you're inebriated or sober. Happy Hour at Tobacco Road (which is just a walk away), followed by the renowned Supermoon Perro here makes any Friday night a good (read: CHEAP) night. In all honesty, the Supermoon Perro is the best hotdog I have ever had. The price ($6!) only makes it taste better. If you don't believe me, just do a ctrl+F down this page to see how many others have fallen into the cult that is Supermoon Perro. The thing comes topped with cheese, bits of potato chips, bacon, a quail egg, and a smashing dose of sauces that will make you want to drop to your knees and worship it. I just came back from another visit, and can now vouch for the Supermoon Arepa as well. Don't go for the plain French fries though, since they're exact replicas of McD's fries. The downsides to La Moon: a horrendous wait, a cramped interior (then again, this joint really is just a hole in the wall), an equally cramped outdoor seating area, and the fact that there's only one quail egg on the Supermoon hotdog... er... Anyways, the plan is to work my way through the entire menu and update this review accordingly. Sounds like the goal of a lifetime to me.

As I'm sure everyone has said before, the burgers here are killer. I didnt have the chance to get my hands on that Supermoon Perro, so another trip to Miami is in order. Probably one of the best burgers I've ever had, and I've had a lot of damn burgers. The sauce is what makes everything (as is the patty, but oh, the sauce. Salivating doesnt even begin to describe what I feel thinking about that stuff right now). A perfect blend of condiments and toppings. And to top if off, this place has starred on the Food Network show, and rated accordingly. Definitely do try, the ultimate grub spot and post drinking stop.

Have the munchies!?? Want Colombian fast food... and are in brickell/ little havana...Then go to La Moon! It reminds me of los perros, except they have much more variety! I always stick to the basics and have not gone wrong. The yuca frita with the garlic cilantro is my favorite here! I also have a churrasco wrap with the cilantro dipping sauce on the side. The burgers and hot dogs are great as well.

I found few reasons to go into the city, this was at least one of them. Must be a local thing. Lonely Planet said was a hot spot for late night eats. The super moon Hot dog was disgustingly delicious, topped with crispy potato match sticks, bacon, mayo, and a single quail egg (a bit out of place). Just a trashy late night treat, but its a pretty good one. The daily special was beef with rice and plantain, and was very good.

Not saying it was bad, but I am not saying it was good either. Food always tastes better at 2am, so when we went to La Moon the first time I was totally excited about going back for some more corn tortillas and the famous La Moon Burger (complete with eggs!). But going back a little more sober made me realize that this place isn't that great. The prices are a bit expensive for what you get, and the service the day we went was SO SLOW. We felt like we were waiting for hours because there is no air conditioning inside and people are kind of crammed in together. I would say try other places around the Brickell area... but if you are into Columbian food, then I am sure this is your best bet. Again, the food is pretty good, it is just the entire experience that is not exactly the best.

I like the Crazy La Moon Burger... one of the only things i ever eat here... the Columbian hot dogs are delicious as well... seems they were on Man vs Food... I'd say everything is pretty good... not super great...

Man, oh man. This place is awesome. I finally took the plunge and decided to try this place out after reading what some fellow yelpers had said and I'm so glad I did. My wife is always hesitant when it comes to trying new things so I definitely had to poke and prod her to get her to come with me here. Needless to say she left happy and with a new favorite spot. The place is small but well kept. Walking in we noticed it's divided into a restaurant and a grocery store. Interesting. But we didn't dwell on that. We immediately sat down and started perusing the menu. The menu consisted of a delicious assortment of colombian delicacies. But that day I had a craving for a perro colombiano. My wife loves arepas so she decided to try the one filled with shredded beef and cheese. DELICIOUS. The dog looked like a work of art. I sat there beholding the beauty and then proceeded to devour it with gusto. It was a marvelous event. My wife's arepa was exquisite. The beef seasoned perfectly and going perfectly with the cheese and corn. We ordered the tres leches which looks like they order it rather than make it themselves. It was ok. I've had better. Overall, everything was great. Our server was excellent. Very kind, prompt, and always with a smile on her face. Food was outstanding. Not too pricey considering all I had was a hot dog and I was full. I'll definitely be back.

There is a reason this place was on Man vs. Food. 1. Its awesome drunk food. 2. They offer mammoth portions. As usually went to the place late night and pretty drunk and I left drunk and well fed. I enjoy Columbian food, especially how they put potato crisps on the burgers and hot dogs. Get the Super Moon Pero, probably one of the most flavorful dog's I've ever had. Also if you're in the mood for just straight cheese get a Arepa con queso. But, you may have a hard time if ordering if you don't speak Spanish, but you'll get by.

La Moon is a wonderful, clean, no-nonsense restaurant where you can quickly and reliably get decent Colombian grub at a reasonable price. Service was remarkably speedy. We came in after the Heat playoffs (from a bar, not the stadium, sadly), and there were only two tables available. After finely perusing the menu and ordering, we waited only about 8 minutes to have our food served up piping hot. In fact, we had barely tasted our juice when the chef proudly presented the main course. I ordered the Wednesday special: Ajiaco. I had no idea what it was exactly, except our waitress described it as a great big hot vegetable caldo. I was hungry, so that sounded great to me. My sig ordered the mountain plate, something that was guaranteed to have plenty of meat, meat and more meat. Other fare on the menu included the traditional loaded hot dogs, all types of arepas, fish, meat and poultry entrees and some random appetizers, which included quail eggs and/or mozzarella sticks. When our plates came out, I have just one thing to say: portion size! Holy moly was there a lot of food. The mountain plate is more than likely most guys' dream meals. It had a healthy portion of beef, thickly sliced bacon, a scoop of rice, a side of pinto beans, a fried egg, half an avocado and fried yucca. For just $12, it was very hard for my sig to fully clean his plate, although I must add that he made a valiant effort. I personally loved my dish of Ajiaco. It was indeed a gargantuan bowl of light green soup, served with a salad, a scoop of rice, a small bowl of capers and a small cup of cream. The cream and capers are meant to be poured into the soup, which has a creamy potato base and was filled with Andean potatoes, some sort of green leafy vegetable that gave it its color, avocado, a piece of corn, and topped with shredded white meat chicken breast. I wasn't able to make it though half of the bowl before calling it quits. True to Colombian food, there was a cup of chimmichuri-like salsa on the table, but the dishes themselves were not spiced very well - La Moon had to depend on the quality of their ingredients to leave us sated and pleased. If you are looking for exotic flavors, you may want to look elsewhere. Colombian is not Mexican or Cuban, for that matter. Their natural juices included tomate del arbol, lulo, mora, naranja, maracuja and guanabara. I ordered a maracuja and he ordered tomate de arbol. Both came out seeming like they came from some sort of frozen package, complete with a separation between the concentrate and added water. The juices were unsweetened, so be sure to ask your waitress before she leaves to bring sugar if you need it. Overall, the service was spectacular, the portions gigantic and the prices were reasonable. If you are looking for something in downtown Miami that is sure to please, look no further.

At La Moon you can get french fries that have thinly sliced fried hot dogs mixed in. The entire gorgeous concoction is then drizzled with a mayo/ketchup sauce. Heavenly? Without a doubt! But if you're in the mood for a plato típico try the breaded pork chops (errr...chuletas de cerdo?) They come with arroz, frijoles, and plátanos maduros. I admit that the Super Perro is a bit outside my comfort zone, but I think next time I'll try it.

Ended up in this place for the first time about 3 yrs ago! Ever since I have been hooked! Is great at any time best after having a few drinks to let their empanadas with aji help you soak the alcohol. Their salchipapas( French fries, sausage and crazy home made sauces). The crazy moon burger is my favorite. I can't even explain it a over cooked burger ( not my thing) with lettuce, tomato, quail egg, onions, potato chips and home made sauces. It's an explosion of flavors. The hot dogs are great. If you like soups and I suggested you get " caldo de gallina" (hen soup) is full of great Flavors that navigate your mouth. This place has a good fast food concept. No value meals, or super size but good street food. And traditional Columbian, such as pandeja paisa, is so good I can't explain it. The arepas(corn cakes) are super good.

I've always seen this place, but never thought to check it out before. I like it though. Small inside, but it's got a friendly atmosphere. They are opened late, which is good; since they are located near a lot of late night spots like Tobacco Road, Transit Lounge, and the Brick-HELL spots. They've got basic American and Colombian fare on the menu, so if you're not in the mood for one, you can try the other. Everyone here says they like the fried hot dog dish. Hmm.... I didn't try it though. I love hot dogs, but I would never consider ordering it at an actual restaurant. A ball game, sure. A hot dog stand, obviously. To me it didn't look that appealing. Maybe I'm too cultured to a fault ; )

I'm not kidding but this is the ONLY food place that is open after 8 o clock on a Sunday night in downtown Miami. At 10:30 pm, my bros and I were hungry after watching some football, good thing I have internet in my hotel and was able to Yelp :). Through Yelp, I discovered La Moon Restaurant, I called them to be sure they are still open, and the La Moon Lady said they will be open till 1 am, jackpot! So we headed out immediately, located only 5 minutes from our hotel, we got there pretty quick. Street parking is the only option, it wasn't too hard to find a parking spot though. We sat outside for our dining exp. Wasn't a smart idea because there was a bum who came to us for money, argh. Anyhow, I ordered the Supermoon Perro , THE BEST HOT DOG IN THE WORLD FOR $6 DOLLARS. The presentation of the hot dog is amazing, it contains fresh crispy bacon and chorizo bits topped by five sauces and a quail egg. Odd combination? Yes, but it was food-gasmic. My bro had the burger, he said the hot dog was def better! P.S. Adam from Man vs Food also came here to eat their hot dog!

A for effort.... D for "didn't" touch my Damn Dog.... It just had so much crazy shit on it that isn't supposed to go together. I admit i am not very adventurous, but hotdogs are a tough item to "try something new and different with".

If you have never had a Colombian hot dog - get to La Moon ASAP. I have dragged many a friend here after a drunken night at Blackbird right next door. I can't even tell you what they put on them but when you are craving a yummy hang over food that is anything but healthy, the Colombian hot dogs at La Moon are so perfect. I love them so much I've never tried anything else on the menu.

When I am in-town, I venture all the way from North Miami on public transit to eat here and I don't even speak Spanish. If your are a local, you would immediately understand that it must be a labor of love. And my mom is addicted to the Supermoon Perro. The distance is probably in our favour. I'm sure there's some cholesterol level I should be monitoring now.

So as much as i cry every time someone wants to go there, every time I'm there i cant ever complain about the food I'm getting. Portions are on point for the price, and the sauces and combinations of flavor pop in ur mouth like mini fireworks caught in a sea of potpourri. My favorite are the masorca things....its a bed of corn with papitas (the little potato things in the fritas) mixed with all sorts of strange meats (that i quite frankly am never going to ask what they are) cheese and their pink sauce....with their powers combined they are (not captain planet) but close to something amazing! My friends ordered burgers that looked amazing, a good nice saucer in a soft burger bun with fresh veggies and they tasted as good as they looked. Plus we got a mini plate of their sauces which just intensified the flavors. now in terms of service.... i suggest they get people that smile, rather than look at you like your aliens. Preferably that don't come back and repeat the same exact line redundantly in 2 min intervols...granted,i did appreciate the server being aware that she had to check on us, but don't ask us the same exact thing "estan bien, quisieran alguna otra cosa" without filling up our drinks again!? because we obviously are gonna choke on a corneal of corn before we can tell you to please refill our drinks (as a server you don't ask u just do, unless they are paying for refills). As if we didn't look strange enough to her apparently, (mind you we left our alien antennas at home! she couldn't have noticed!) she thought it was a good idea to draw huge designs around our checks to make sure we knew tip wasn't included.,not once! not twice but three times!!....i do appreciate good circular art, but once you put a few squiggly lines and arrows i find that your talents exceed the need for tip due to the fact that your doing quite well as an artist! (yes we still gave her 20% cause that's how we do ha ha, I'm gangsta yo) but it almost made me want to leave her nothing because she under-minded the fact i can read a bill quite well in English and in Spanish (yep I'm talented too lady! boooyaaa) Needless to say the service though around, left us a bit flabbergasted. OH and unless ur into strange mountain music from South America you might want to sit outside or order take out.....other than those fun facts, as much as i complain about going its a place worth stopping at after your brickell night adventure!

Hot dogs really have to be something special to catch my attention. I maintain that Dogzilla has the best hot dog I've ever had, but La Moon's superperro is a close second. I will now be adding potato chips to my hotdog thanks to La Moon. But the sauces work well together to provide different flavors upon each bite and the salsa they have at the table tops it off nicely. The only problems I had were that 1) there is only ONE quail egg for a huge hot dog 2) the hot dog itself is much shorter than the bun 3) $10 minimum for card kinda sucks if you only want to just buy a hot dog I had a feeling they kinda hated our group of 12, so service was decent but not spectacular. Wish I coulda tried all the other hot dog varieties, and maybe an actual dish or two.

greasy greasy greasy. I've gone to this place twice and both times it has been terrible. This is not good Columbian food....My advice: if you came here for good Columbian food, get up and walk out. No seriously, don't wait...just walk out. BK around the corner is probably less greasy and you'll save a couple of bucks with a value meal.

This place should be renamed "Bomb Ass Burgers". I went in on a late night with an appetite and it did not disappoint. Get the Crazy Moon Burger that includes bacon and eggs on it, among other things, it's legit. This place is open til 5am and it's always real crowded so be patient. And most importantly, don't wait to be seated cause you'll be waiting for a while. Great Food, Good Prices right down in Brickell on SW8th. This at the top of my burger joints!

After hitting up Transit lounge on a Friday night, friends and I decided to go get a late-night bite to eat. That's when we headed to La Moon. Since it was my first time here, I went ahead and ordered the basic perro caliente. It was probably the best hot dog I have ever eaten. I wasn't about to be brave and inquire as to the health standards it abides to, but it's great for once in a while. Some of the others had the super perros with chorizo and all, but I thought it was too much! Regardless it was great food and hit the spot. Would love to go again.

Open until 6am. Colombian Hot Dogs i reccomend the Supermoon Perro topped with cheese, potato chips, bacon, quail egg. or Crazy Moon Arepa Burger *stop by the candy counter for some old school Colombian candy/chips on your way out. : )

What began as a meager happy hour in downtown evolutioned into a SLAP HAPPY burger-fest at La Moon. It's CRAZY or bust...well, and bust your seams, but definitely NOT your wallets at this late-dining mecca. May I even venture to say, and trust me when I say this is VERY HARD for me to do, but for those of us who LOVE FRIES and appreciate it as MORE than just a partner in crime to most food fare - should you order a CRAZY MOON burger, you don't need anything else! There I said it. Ugh. Who knows if ever again. (I LOVE FRIES!) Enjoy!

La Moon... i came here after watching Man VS Food and of course I tried the Super Perro hot dog and I would say it looks a lot better than it tastes. Don't get me wrong, it's a good hot dog, but it wasn't great and I wasn't as awed by it. Also, it's pretty pricey for a hot dog covered in sauce. Good experience, but I don't think I'll be coming back to this place.

Ok looking for some good colombiano food , particularly a bandeja paisa. ordered food to my job it arrived in decent timing about 40 min or so. It didn't look so bad appearance wise but Ive seen better and bigger. Carne asada was great-juicy and not hard, beans were good a bit watery, arepa was cute shaped like a moon, chicharron was very nice and crispy. Only reason why Im giving this place a negative is well I have tasted better bandeja paisa's and because it gave me the worst colico (stomach pain the entire rest of the day, to the point where I couldnt even eat dinner or stand up straight. Sorry but I will not be ordering here.

So I saw this place on 'Man Vs. Food' and HAD to try their "Supermoon Perro," a crazy hotdog with approximately a dozen toppings. I went in with high expectations and was NOT disappointed. It is one of the most fantastic assortment of flavors you can imagine. One thing that is surprising about this place is that the dishes aren't particularly belly-busting (even though they look like it), so the people that I dine with here find that two sandwiches a person is a good idea. Which is good because there are too many great options on the menu (various exotic hot-dogs, burgers and arepas) The servers are VERY nice here, the atmosphere is upbeat, and I love that it is open all hours of the night. What a great spot to eat with friends... and a great way to make out of state guests' heads explode

I had the supermoon perro. I thought it was going to be big. It was actually small for a normal hot dog. It was tasty tho. I wouldn't tell someone they HAD to try it. I'd like to go back and try some of their other menu items. I'll be sure to check them out again, and maybe I'll have a more impressive review then.

La Moon used to be my favorite late night spot, but ever since the move the service quality has decreased immensely. The new list system is rarely respected, people were allowed to sit themselves and we were even asked who sat us down, even though we respected the list. Also, the waitress we had, named Joanna exploded at our friend because he asked her how much longer for his hot dog to come out. She wouldn't even get the manager when we complained. The food at La Moon isn't dramatically different or any better than other late night places, you're better off going a little further to get decent service.

Came here for dinner at around 8:30PM. I guess that was considered early, because the place didn't get full until about 9:30PM or so. For an appetizer, we started with the Fried Yuca. It was super delicious. They were basically gigantic fries, only a lot lot better. It came with this herby mayonnaise/tarter sauce that went very well. The waiter then dropped by a Beef Empenada at our table that we hadn't ordered. We thought it was free, so we had ate it, and it was very good. My gf got the Perro Colombiano and I got the Supermoon Colombiano. They were pretty sizable for the price. The Supermoon is basically the Perro with bacon and a random whole Quail egg in the middle of the hot dog. Each of the dogs came with five sauces. I'm guessing, based on the color, that they were ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, this pineapple sauce, and Thousand Island. Of course, I could be completely wrong, but this is my best guess. They also sprinkled the top of each dog with these crispy potato flakes. They were both very very good. The quail egg didn't add much to my hot dog though, as it was really random. The service was a little off. We had to wait a long time to put our order in. Then, we had to go up about five times before they gave us our check. What should've been a thirty minute dinner turned out to be over an hour and a half. We were also charged for that Beef Empenada that they just dropped on our table randomly. But whatever...we ate it. Food is great, but service was just OK. So I give it four stars. I'd definitely come back again though, simply because Adam Richman told me to.

Visited La Moon on Yelp's advice after a visit to the Miami Children's Museum. Did not disappoint! La Moon took some latin/cuban food staples and executed them perfectly: fried yucca (super crispy) and fried plaintains (cooked perfectly, no soggy blobs, nice crispy edges). We also had a cheese arepa and a chicken/cheese arepa, which were super yummy, especially with the house salsa added. The only downside was the cuatro leches cake, which was pre-made and served in the plastic cup it was packed in. I was disappointed that it wasn't made in-house, but it was still pretty delish. Will def be back!

DEEEELISH!! Ok first, before you set foot in the place do not, I repeat DO NOT expect good service. It's not good and expect to ask about your order. Ok now what you can expect is an AMAZING hot dog with loads of delicious toppings. If you have a sensitive stomach then obviously you have zero business coming here. But... if you can eat hot dogs, chorizo, bacon, hot sauce and not blink an eye then come on in for a HUG to your belly. These hot dogs rock. I also had the yellow potatos with omg the salsa that they have on each table which needs to be bottled and sold because it is perfection. Over all the bill for 2 came to $29 and I came away, full, happy and satisfied. Overall know what you are going there for. I read posts from people who came here and ordered a cesars salad and was disappointed. Ya think?? This is a colombian hot dog joint stick to what they do best and enjoy!

The ULTIMATE post-drinking stop on the way out of Brickell.. The by now uber-famous La Moon Perrito is the most ridiculously addicting, heart-wrenchingly bad for you food I have ever had. Hot Dog Bacon Fried Taters 5 sauces (mayo, ketchup, mustard, pineapple, something else --all house made) QUAIL EGG I also tried the arepa with cheese and beef. It was packed with stuff, pretty big. Greasy tho...and I'd rather take my cholesterol in Perrito form. FFS....Stumble over, order take-out dogs, call a cab, eat em when you get home. That was one of the greatest nights ever.

The service took EONS (at least a half hour) in an empty restaurant (only one other table) and was atrocious!! I'm the least bitchy patron any restaurant has ever seen, but the waitstaff here were positively retarded. It wasn't even a language barrier - both my sweetie and I speak fluent Spanish and English. Actually, it seemed like they got even dumber and more incompetent when we spoke to them in their native Spanish. At one point I was snapping at them without meaning to. That has NEVER happened to me before. First we ordered two orange juices. His was grossly thick and mine was pukishly thin (I'm going to take a WILD GUESS HERE and assume that they forgot to shake the carton.) Mine, the watery one, was so bad I could only finish 1/4 of it (the bottom quarter with the orange matter.) When we asked the waitstaff about it, they acted retarded and it took us about 3 minutes to explain to them that we would like new juice. I had the Supermoon Perro, which was just a hot dog loaded with a bunch of random crap (but tasted decent), and my date had some Philly cheese steak perro thing which was better. But I also ordered the yuca fries with cilantro dip, and they gave me a plate of prettily-presented breaded yuca... WITH NOTHING ELSE. Lovely! So you expect me to eat these cylinders of starch with absolutely NOTHING? And then the waiter scowled at me and/or looked at me with confusion when I asked for the cilantro dip that was supposed to come with my "yuca fries and cilantro dip" platter. Actually, he didn't even know what the cilantro dip was until I pointed it out to him on the menu. Then, lameness to end all lamenesses, I finally got my long-awaited cilantro dip and it was nothing more than ranch dressing with a few cilantro leaves in it. :-( My sweetie is betting that they spit in all my food for asking them to correct the zillion things they'd messed up, LOL. Look here; I was paying for it all and it's not cheap as far as hot dog stands go! You're darn right I'm gonna try to get what I pay for! The only reason I went here was because my sweetie was hungry and had stayed the night, and I live across the street from this place. If I didn't live directly across the street I would never eat here. Whoopty-doo! It's open late! So is Montes de Oca on about 50th ave. and 8th street, and that joint ROCKS!

Im a big fan of this place and their perros colombianos,. We ended here after a tv show (Man vs Food) and we loved it. Everytime I visit Miami I have to make a stop and have a perro and I have to admit this is the only place on earth were I eat hot dogs.

In an iffy location (because of the way about this street, not because of the neighborhood), and an even iffier parking situation, I finally end up parking my car in an invented parking spot and walk towards this place. It's 2am and packed. Cool. Hearing all these great things about their forerunner perros and fast food, I eagerly order their superperro. In the back of my mind, I don't forget Michelle C.'s lackluster review, and on cue, I count about 30 minutes for my order of one hot dog. When I finally get it, I take it to go and eat it a few minutes later. Meh. I could have easily gotten better, faster, and possibly cheaper, for somewhere much nearer to my house.

I'm not sure what the hype is about this place. My husband loves the super perro hot dog, but I'm not a huge fan of the hot dog with the rainbow of sauces. Everything else that I've tried from the menu has been blah. I will say that they make a mean cortodito.

Ok, so this little dive, I love. It's cheap, conveniently located within walking distance from me, and quick. Known as a favorite late night spot, I would go here for dinner as well. I love the burgers, haven't had a hot dog yet, and the chicken is always good too. Their sauces, toppings, and arepas are awesome. I love them. I wouldn't eat here all the time, since its not too healthy, but at dinner its pretty damn good. So imagine eating it at 3am...I'd say it probably tastes like heaven.

where to begin? typical miami crap. $8 hotdogs served on white platters after 40 minutes wait with rude service.? never again. my five year-old can make better food in a fraction of the time. an embarressment to columbium food topped with extra serving of miami pretentiousness. skip it.

The best place for Colombian fast food in Miami--it really blows Mao and Los Perros out of the water. Though its small and usually crowded, I really like the atmosphere here and I feel like they have a larger selection than most places in this category. I recommend the Super Perro, mozzarella sticks, and stuffed arepas. Actually, everything is pretty tasty. The venue is extremely clean and the prices are fair. This is definitely something to try when you're pulling an all-nighter in the Brickell area. I've never met anyone who hasn't been satisfied.

Nothing quite as comforting as a chicken filled arepa at 3am. They're known for their crazy chicken burger and superperro but I am quite content with the choriperro and stuffed arepas. Amazing late night dining that's good anytime.

I've always been a fan since way back during my college years at U of Miami. Come here for a late-night fix after hanging out and order a loaded Colombian hot dog with the works: my favorite is the Supermoon. This place is also good for other Colombian food cravings (arepas, bandeja paisa, etc...) La Moon has been featured on Travel Channel's show Man vs Food, and is great for yummy late-night food on the fly.

Service was mad slow, but damn was it worth the wait.. Super Moon Perro, the whole thing was good, but the papas fosforito and four specials kinds of sauces mos def makes it SLAP YO MOMMA GOOD.! haha I'm still on the hunt to find out the ingredients for the sauce recipe..! Parking sucks, but I will mos def hit this spot again, to tame el SuperMoon Perro..! hahaha

Worse service ever! I waited for my food about 20 min then I got my chuzo desgranado and was cold. I asked my waitress for the cilantro sauce and she forgot about it. After 20 min she came to the table blaming some one else for not getting the sauce. This is my second bad experience in la moon! I'm not coming back

***WARNING*** If you have any sort of blood pressure problems stay away! You probably should not even read this review... that's how great la moon is. Let me color what im about to review with a bit of background information. I would NEVER recommend going to La Moon unless you know what your getting into. This place is home to one of the greasiest most artery clogging, pimple producing, heart burn inducing foodstuffs I've had the pleasure of eating. The Super Perro should be ordered only by those brave souls who have a gut of steel. It is amazing and so bad all in one. You've no doubt read what is in the "hot dog" from other yelpers so I won't bother going over it again. There are only two reasons I can think of to eat here. 1. Your drunk and need something to coat your stomach. 2. You have nothing else to do for the rest of the day and want to spend it no more then 8 feet from the nearest bathroom. The food wasn't even that bad, it wasn't that good either but the service was disappointing. It took 45 minutes for food that obviously wasn't fresh made. They might want to explore the option of having a la moon express. I give two stars to la moon because they do have a unique product that I've never seen anywhere else. I don't know why anyone would put those items together in one place but they did. I don't need a heart attack in a bun that badly, I'll be happy with some other fast food for my hangovers. The service also makes me want to skip for a value meal some place.

I've only been here late at night like most people. The food is great, it's as simple as that. If you just left the bar or club and are looking for food, go. The service is expectantly not great, but that comes with the territory.

I am new to the brickell area, and I have been trying to find my bearings. Having stopped at most of the other local places I was a little disappointed. When I came to la moon, however, the service was friendly, and my first ever colombian perro was fantastic. If you consider yourself a "normal" person, you will enjoy eating at this restaurant where it is not owned by a company! Additionally, I highly recommend stumbling here late on Saturday nights after hitting up the local bards in the Brickell area. Do NOT expect to leave with a healthy feeling. This place will make your arteries just a little more strained. Running that three miles the next morning will feel just a little bit harder. But it's worth it. Every time.

My husband and I came here at about 1am on Friday night for some take out late night (at least by California standards) munchies. He ordered the colombian hotdog and I got the arepa carne y queso. The arepa was ridiculously good. The two arepas are fried with a crispy brown outer layer. The carne is well seasoned and all the ingredients just bounce off each other. It is a little heavy and probably not the healthiest thing to be eating regularly honestly I'm still thinking about how good it is and will probably order another one sooner than later. I'm not the biggest hot dog fan and when I was watching the Man vs. Food episode at this spot, I sort of cringed at the thought of all those sauces but a couple bites of the hot dog made me realize that dousing it with the 5 sauces is pretty good after all. We waited for ~30 minutes for our order to be cooked but we were warned it would take that long when we ordered and were okay with it.

I have been going to La Moon since moving to Miami 2 years ago (and before that when I would visit). Great food at a very reasonable price. Some of my favorite menu items are the Crazy Moon Arepa Burger (Colombian burger), the roasted tomato soup, and the skirt steak. My boyfriend is a fan of the "Mountain Plate," which is equivalent to a mountain of food. They also have a pretty good breakfast menu and a $3.50 breakfast special that includes eggs, an arepa or toast, bacon or ham, potatoes, and a cafe con leche. My only complaint about this place is the service. Half the time it's good, the other half not so good. For instance, I went the other day for breakfast and there were only 4 other tables occupied in the restaurant and it took about 15 minutes for a server to come over. It then took another 10 minutes just to get water for the table. They turned it around for the second part of the meal but the first part was awful, and it is not the first time that has happened there. However, the food is so good that I keep coming back despite frequent poor service. Bonus: they deliver and are open late night.

I used to enjoy this place street a night of drinking and dancing. But since the move, this place has changed. My cheese in my arepa was hard and my friend said her super moon burger sucked and the meat was dry. That being said the drunkest among us thought get food was delicious. It seems the drunker you are the better the food tastes. So if its super late, and you are more than a little buzzed, the super greasy food will feel great in your tummy and then this place is for you. Other wise drive a little further to a taco bell or dennys.

I had el prato del dia on a Thursday. My hubby had the supermoon perro. This place was very busy at lunch time on Thursday. We parked at public a block away and use their parking lot (we had to purchase something but in the end parking was free). After a 6 hours flight from sfo this place definitely filled our tummies! It was very delicious and of course the Supermoon perro unique and tasty! It seems like a lot of the customers were regulars and many ordered the cuban burguers with shoestring fries. When in Miami I will definitely go again for lunch!

Came here with the family and everything that we ordered was excellent. I STRONGLY recommend the salmon! The fried fish was fat and juicy not like some of these skinny fishes u get some places. The hotdog definitely took me back to Colombia! And the bandeja paisa couldn't have been better. No I didn't order all this for myself I just went around the table sampling! I would've given this place 5 stars but finding a parking space was just too difficult. Overall we had a great experience and I'll be coming in when in town.

First time at a Colombian fast food restaurant and it was awesome! Open late for club-goers that want to grab a delicious gourmet burger at the end of the night. I don't remember which burger I ordered but I believe they are generally the same on the menu. SO DELICIOUS drizzled with a secret sauce that gives it a little kick. Small, hole in the wall type restaurant, friendly service, and awesome burgers.

After watching Man vs. Food. I decided to give it a try.... Love Love Love their hot dog.... The best hot dog I ever had...... All the sauce combine together create a wonderful taste. It's quit a big hot dog tho. You might want to share with another person with an order of the fried pork :p

Stumbled on this place when we turned on first Ave. We were looking for place we could walk into with shorts and sandals and it fit the bill. Skirt steak was the best I have had and it comes with rice, beans and a salad. The veg got areppa with cheeses and corn along with rice a and beans. All happy and will return again when in Miami.

Cheap, (really) good (see cheap) open at 5 am...need I say more?? Even if you don't eat the hot dogs, go for the chicken sandwich topped with shoe string fries...mmm, sure sounds good...especially after one long night :) Ahh, be prepared to wait...this place is a whole in the wall and is always full...must be a good sign! **NOTE** not for the health conscious...but then again, who's really health conscious at 5am??

Wow, the residents of Miami are spoiled with delicious Colombian food, so lucky!! I read about this place on the Travel Channel's website, and then saw the positive yelp reviews and took a leap. I am so glad that I made my way to the Brickell district to check this place out. Honestly I was extremely impressed with everything (food, service, and ambiance) at La Moon! I wanted to pack it up and take it home to San Diego with me. I grew up with my mom's Colombian cooking and just recently indulged in the delicious typical food on a trip to Cartagena; I must say this was definitely an authentic slice of Colombia! The space itself is really charming and intimate. We sat in the brighter room near the coffee bar, and it was a great spot for a weekend lunch. I can see how it would get crowded here though, since they are open so late and it's not super big. Our server (as was the rest of the staff) was really friendly; overall we had a leisurely and unforgettable lunch experience. When I saw the menu, I was beaming from ear to ear! So many delicious choices, but I decided on the jugo de mango, arepa con queso, tostones and the Salmon a la Plancha. My partner braved the Bandeja Paisa (rice, egg, beans, platano, chicharone, steak, arepa and avocado). The fresh mango juice was delicious; it almost tasted like a mango lassi but without the cream. The arepa was pretty yummy, and the tostones were larger and flatter than any tostones I've had before. I especially liked that the platano maduros from the Bandeja Paisa were not covered in that caramel/syrupy sweet sauce as other places; they tasted exactly how my mom makes them which is fresh and not frozen. My pan seared salmon dish was heavenly, and from the looks of Bandeja Paisa, so was my partner's meal. I topped off my visit with a cafe con leche to go, and it was the best $1.50 I have spent on coffee. After eating at La Moon, I was so satisfied and wished that I was hungry again later that day to eat here again before I left Miami - but after all of that Colombian goodness, I couldn't look at food again for the remainder of the day. If only I lived close by, then I would eat here once a week, as it is EXCELLENT!

This artery-clogging dog is a high-cholesterol nightmare. I have to say I've had better, but It's not that bad, it's pretty (like a cocoon filled with wonder), very tasty and NOT for those on a diet. For those of you have been living under a rock and are unsure what a Super Moon Perro is... Hot dog bun, frank, two chorisos, bacon, papas fosforito, four kinds of sauces including pineapple and finally a delicious hard-boiled quail egg. My biggest pet peeve has to be the lack of parking. I don't mean lack of parking like when it gets full, there is only one spot left in a parking lot; I mean, there is NO lot and the only parking is one metered space on the street a couple of feet away from the restaurant and two on the other side of the street. I had to drive back to 7th street and turn back on 8th so I could get on the right side of the street. Talk about making you work for your food.

I love Columbian food like I love Columbian women. To everyone out there in yelpland, i recommend the supermoon perro. It is a delicious hotdog with cheese, potato chips, bacon, quail egg along with like 5 sauces that makes your mouth sings with joy. After a night of drinking and dancing around the downtown area with your buddies and/or the random stranger on the dance floor. The wonderful dog is the cure for the drunkenness of the Miami nightclub scenes.

I have lived across the street for 2 years and finally made it over to la moon for lunch today. Started with the chicharrones con arepa, not bad but not enough flavor. Used the salsa provided on the table to help it out a bit. For main course I had the grilled chicken lunch special...It came with a simple salad with mixed greens and a yummy dressing, very nice. The chicken was overcooked but the vegetables it came with were very flavorful and the papaya salsa was good too. Bf had the moon burger, wanted the CRAZY moon burger but the waitress heard wrong. It was flavorful and on a nice soft bun, very good even though it was not 'crazy.' Dessert was a cuatro leches and cortaditos. I've had better of both but it was good enough for my sweet tooth. The service was ok, everything was right for the price we paid. Enjoyed it and will be back for the crazy moon burger!

My friend and I heard about La Moon from the concierge at our hotel. While we saw that the Travel Channel made it to La Moon, neither of us knew anything about the restaurant. We weren't looking for anything fancy, however, despite yelp's recommendations, neither of us got the hot dogs. We were surprised when we saw how small the place was, and our server was very nice to us in explaining what things were since neither of us knew any Spanish. I got the Chuleta de Cerdo, and my friend had to the Churrasco. My dish was REALLY good, and when you used the little canister of house sauce that's on the table, everything automatically becomes that much better! Next time I'm back in Miami, I'm getting a hot dog even though my dish wasn't bad at all.

I first heard of La Moon when it was featured in the Miami episode of Man v.s. Food. As a poor college student, I was sold on an open late restaurant offering reasonably priced burgers and hot dogs. Turns out La Moon can also be a great venue to grab lunch at on the weekend as well. When I went, true to MVF I ordered the Super Moon Pero, a hot dog with five sauces, bacon, a small hard boiled egg and potato chips straws. This was the absolute best hot dog I have ever had! The only reason I stopped myself from ordering a second one was my curiosity to try another masterful dish from the menu. For that I split a burger that featured a array of toppings including ham, egg and the special five sauces. Like the hotdog the burger did not disappoint. La Moon is a small comfortable restaurant with food that's easy to pig out on. The only problem with La Moon is accessibility. Finding a spot nearby requires some "creative parking". Overall a must eat at in Miami!

I think La Moon is the Happiest Place on Earth. (Watch out Disney). I discovered their Colombian hot dog a few months back and I am addicted. I have not tried anything else on the menu but the hot dog is great. The place is small and the servers are friendly and usually quite busy. Their Colombian hot dog puts the one at Los Perros to shame. This is a great place for a quick lunch or a late night snack. If you go late be careful of the drunks... Unless you are one :-)

Driving home at 1am starving after picking up our friends who flew into West Palm Beach (WTF- We love you but really?!?!). We needed some food and quick. I found La Moon on Yelp and called them 25 min out from downtown. The lady on the other end of the phone sounded like she was at a disco but we managed to order two grilled chicken entrees with rice, beans, salad, and plantains, and two grill pork entrees. The food arrived in 35 mins and it was warm, delicious and cost only $46+ tip. La Moon made our night and it was easy, inexpensive and good. The best food in the world??? No, but darn good at 1am when you are desperate for something good to eat. Thanks La Moon! I have you in my contacts!

Great for starving stumblers after late nights. Need I say more!? Well, OK I will: I always come here slightly buzzed and can't ever seem to figure out what I want... Then it always pops out like flashing lights: "I'll just have the Supermoon Perro"....Why not go with the classic (still buzzed) Best thing about it is that you won't leave hungry-Supermoon Perro is Supermoon Delish and all the fixings-dripping sauces that look like an edible Monet, but somehow they create a masterpiece in your mouth... Nothing fancy--just good late-nite eats. But make sure you are OK with close contact with your neighbors, cuz this place is tiny. Tiny, but I like it! Happy tummies=no hangover the next day! I will be visiting you very soon again on another long evening out La Moon (probably buzzed again, but it's all good my friend!)

We are here at least once a week, or simply whenever we are craving their amaizing Moon Burger or Salchipapas!! OMG...this place is packed every night! They are opened 7 days a week and are opened LATE !!! We have brought friends and family and they are NOW hooked as well...This place shouldn't be so close to our home (we literally walk here...) I've been meaning to post a review and now I'm thinking of their deliciouse food and decided to let you all know...MMMMMM !!!

Great Columbian hot dogs and great food overall! The first time I went was very late at night and it was for the Columbian hot dogs, which are a great late night snack. Since then, I've tried more of the menu items and was very surprised. I love the arepas at La Moon, and I don't normally like arepas. I find myself craving them... weird! I love that it offers a little bit of everything. The empanadas are also good, as well as the pollo a la plancha (grilled chicken).

Nothing in the world hits the spot at 2am like the super perro from La Moon. The sweet salty crunchy juicy goodness is like no other. I heard that Man vs. Food featured La Moon and I totally understand why!! Warning...eating this food during the day time might give you a heavier feeling that you remember at 2am.... Hahaha. Pretty decent arepas ...and great Colombian style empanadas. Delivery takes a little while but they deliver when many others won't... And the delivery staff are always very nice.

I'm not a huge fan of La Moon, as is evident in my previous review, but I came recently and ordered the (everything) burger to share with my hubs. OMG - the burger is delicious!!!! Super good and I highly, super highly recommend it! It's messy big, so get ready to get dirrrty, and enjoy every bite. I also thought that it was pretty cool how the check jacket has a calculator, so it helps you figure out the tip.

Ah, how I love La Moon! I come here for lunch at least once a week and sometimes 3 days in a row and never get tired of it. They have such variety of things to try from typical Colombian food to wraps and pastas. The natural fruit juices are fantastic, the arepas are some of the best, and the soups are excellent. My favorites are the ajiaco (served Wednesdays) and the tomato soup. Although they are know for their late night stuff like hot dogs and hamburgers, I really suggest you try them for lunch. Choose from the menu or their lunch specials which usually include some type of fish and a homestyle Colombian dish.

I've been to La Moon a few times and I have liked all of the food I've gotten there. It is good late night drunk food. The service is usually decent, although often slow. However... I went the other night with a couple of Caucasian friends and we were completely ignored, numerous times. I hate to pull the race card but when tables around you of non-white customers are getting service and you aren't even handed a menu or acknowledged I'm not sure what else to say. The other times I have been there and was acknowledged I was with Hispanic friends. I will probably not return to La Moon ever again because of my last experience.

I always thought of La Moon as the late night Colombian Hot Place but the truth is that it is a damn good restaurant that happens to be open really late on Friday and Saturday nights. I have been here a few times during the day and the food and service is always excellent. As a gringo who loves to learn about all the flavors of Latin culture, I really dig this place because if you are struggling with pronouncing a dish - instead of a laser eyeball scolding - you get a Spanish lesson, language and history of the dish if you want - providing, of course, its not too crowded. I don't pretend to be an expert on Colombian food or what is authentic blah blah blah .... I just know what I like ....and I like this place ... A LOT.

UPDATE (11/09/10): Okay, so they gave me a bad first impression, but I gave this place a second chance and my experience was entirely different from the first one (which I thought was REALLY disappointing, I gave it 2 stars at that time). After my second visit there, my opinion regarding that place has changed, and remained consistent everytime I went there to eat. Their operating hours are awesome. Parking is a bit of a hassle if you go there at night when it gets busy. The one thing I love about La Moon is that they deliver to my place. That's great after working 12 hours (sometimes 16) and you just feel exhausted and hungry, and driving will just drain you even more. Late hours, delivery, good food, big servings... a big 10 in my book. (My first review)... The food tastes good... Not great, in other words, highly overrated. And customer service SUCKS ASS! They don't greet you when you come in. If you're just standing there and can't find a table or a place to sit, they'll ignore you; they won't even say "excuse me" if you're blocking the way unknowingly; they'll just stand there until YOU stand aside. See that's rude. The server took forever to bring the bill, even longer to get the bill from us... We had to take our bill to the counter coz it was taking too long. Oh and to get my card back, took them ages too. We came here to try out the food everybody seems to be raving about, but honestly, I've had better-tasting hotdogs and faster, friendlier customer service from other Colombian restaurants.

Every time I come here, I get the Supermoon arepa; so good! If you're feeling really hungry, get the Bandeja Paisa - Mountain plate. You get a huge amount of food, and everything is so flavorful. Definitely try this place out!

  • Lea G.

La Moon - their food is great and tastes even BETTER when you are drunk and your fourth meal consists of a burger or hot dog. It's like the cooks are drunk in the back having a party with your food by throwing little pieces of potato chips on your hamburger/hot dog and then having a dance off with the condiments which could also explain why the service is a little slow... Ahhh but it doesn't matter as the food is worth it!

OMG, I was there last week and my son had the Super Perro and it was fantastic! I had the Super Moon Hamburger served between two wonderfully crunchy Arepas with all the same trimmings as the Sup Perro Hot Dog, For 3 Gringos, I must admit, this was a fabulous lunch! Thanks to Adam Richman and his 2hr special on Super Bowl Sunday, we found this place and I cant wait to go back then next time Im in MIami. As for the service, no problems there at all! Definitely a must visit if you in Miami!

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. Except halfway through his afternoon nap, he sat bolt upright and said, "I've forgotten the Supermoon Perro" which he then created in all its divine perfection because he was in a good mood and well-rested. And when Lucullus admonished his servant saying, "What, did not you know, then, that today Lucullus dines with Lucullus?" he followed it up with, "So go get us some Supermoon Perros." Laozi said "He who knows that enough is enough will always have enough. But you can never get enough of a Supermoon Perro." As Julius Caesar crumpled to the floor, bright arterial blood pumping from his jagged wounds, he whispered "E tu Brute? I was just going to eat a Supermoon Perro, you dick." "What's in a name? that which we call a Supermoon Perro By any other name would taste as sweet" One of Winston Churchill's most famous quotes is "To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often. Unless you are a Supermoon Perro." The "I am a jelly doughnut" story about John F. Kennedy is an urban legend. JFK actually said "Ich bin ein Supermoon Perro" George Walker Bush, 43rd president of the United States, once said "I'm the decider, and I decide what is best. And Supermoon Perros are the best." This is all you need to know: The Supermoon Perro is twin hot dogs cradling a strip of deep-fried, crispy bacon, cushioned by liberal amounts of shredded cheese, all of this nestled in a fluffy bun and anointed with stripes of four different mayonnaise-based sauces and ketchup, strafed with crushed potato chips and crowned with a single hard-boiled quail's egg. And YES it is as DELICIOUS as it is ARTERY-CLOGGING which is to say that it is the PLATONIC IDEAL of hot dogs.

I usually try to stay away from greasy food as it's bad for my health, makes me fat and doesn't sit too well with my stomach soon after i'm done eating it. With that said, I LOVE eating greasy food and La Moon definitely satisfied my craving recently. I tried their burger and a hot dog with a tiny quail egg on top. Both were DELICIOUSLY, greasy and very satisfying. The service was slow, but the result was well worth the effort. I wish I could say i'll be going back soon because i'm craving it in a very bad way, but it'll probably be a while until I burn of the last of the fat from this one meal. YUM!

On one drunken night I stumbled into la moon. I have eaten here before and sober, but I will always order a perro. This drunk night was different I decided to be bold and daring. I ordered an arepa burger, yes folks arepas used as a bun with a juice burger patty with a fried egg. Yes my my cholesterol did have a significant spike after eating this but it was worth it. The burger had all the sauces, potato sticks, and onions. Now yes I was drunk but let me tell you that burger was delicious. Thanks to that burger next time I go I shall try something different again, I think its turning into a trend.

I have amazing memories of partying with my cousins while on vacation in Colombia and going to munch on Colombian style hot dogs. In Miami I was always dissapointed as many restaurants tried to pass themselves off as having true Colombian hot dogs only to serve up garbage on a bun. I was plesently surprised when on one night after having too many drinks someone mentioned La Moon. The place was slammed, a huge line of people out the door waiting for hot dogs. To good to be true I thought to myself. I have been dissapointed way to many times in Miami to get my hopes up high... I took one bite and I was in heaven!!!! Colombian fast food is king when your out late and drunk and La Moon is the King of Colombian fast food!!!!!

Yum...yummies. This is the real deal flavor explosion. The food is flavorful and tasty. We went for a small lunch and ordered an arepa and perros columbianos...not sure if I spelt that correctly! After the first bite of the hot dog I realized that this was one of the best hot dogs I had ever had...next to a chicago style in chicago. cant wait to go back. they are open late and serve breakfast. The service is top notch and the food is @#$#@ awesome!

Not impressed. Had an appetizer (corn pancake with cheese), felt like a ton of bricks and it took its time going down the throat. Had a dog and burger - not all that, we expecting more for Colombian food. We not going back.

MY FAVS -perro colombiano and arepa con queso -open late on Fridays and Saturdays WARNING -the parking lot is small and the line can be long OVERALL REVIEW I've been here a bunch of times and have never been disappointed with the food. I've tried the hot dogs, burgers, empanadas, arepas, and yuca frita. All are $7 or under. You just can't go wrong for the price you are paying. Do not go there if you are looking for great service... if you're a hot dog lover (like me), stand in line, order the $4 perro colombiano, and enjoy it. period.

I drove here from Hollywood and would not make the drive again just for this place but if I lived near by or was in the area would drop in. Service was kinda slow as noted in many other posts but the made up for it.

After a night of partying in Downtown Miami, grab something to eat at La Moon. I suggest the arepas!

Fun atmosphere in a great part of town. This review speaks to the comida rapida menu, since we didn't try any of the more traditional dinner options. The perros colombianos are very típica, straight out of the street vendor carts of Colombia. Don't let the multitudes of sauces on the hotdog throw you off, they all work in a synergistic balance that is out of this world. The natural juices were surprisingly good, obviously blended from real pulp, not a juice concentrate. Will be back soon!

So great and so cheap. This is the best place for arepas, the one with chicken is my favorite. The fried yucca is also not to be missed.

Seriously....The first time I saw this was on Man V. Food and two weeks later, I finally made my way out there. I didn't expect it to be so far! I live at FIU, and when it said 8th St, i was like, okay. Right down the road. Puh-leese! I drove and drove and drove. Well anyway, I went there with my friend. Ordered the Supermoon Perro. Ate the Supermoon Perro. And seriously, I wanted another one. The saltiness of the potatoes and the sweetness of the pineapple sauce. Actually ALL the sauces just made it insanely YUMMY. And the little egg on top! OMG....it just topped it all off for me. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because it is VERY hard to find parking. VERY hard. I had to park in the animal hospital parking lot where my car could have been towed lol hahaha. But it's really good, but worth the drive if you're gonna buy two lol hahaha.

I have learned long ago that if Kevin L. tells you to visit a place, you should GO! So when he said "Go to La Moon!", I hopped into my rental car and sped down the highway to downtown Miami for some hot dogs and arepas. Well, to be more clear: Supermoon Perro (hot dog, cheese, bacon, potato chips, 5 sauces, and a quail egg) and Supermoon Arepa (corn pancake with steak, chicken, smoked sausage, bacon, cheese). I'm not joking. Service was quick, the restaurant was clean, and all-in-all, I am so in love with the fast food, I can't believe it! Especially when I'm heading out to chicago tomorrow and will have access to SO MANY HOT DOGS!

All I can say is that I was in Miami for 6 days on business and I ate here 3 times. Tried the supermoon perro (3x), supermoon burger, empanadas, and chicharron con arepas (salsa was awesome)...all great and affordable. Sauces on the supermoons kept me coming back. Never had a problem with service as some have mentioned. I was there at 3 separate times including peak lunch and service was just fine. People were very friendly. Will definitely stop by again when in the area.

The good: The food, you can tell its freshly made. The bad: The kitchen takes too long. Owners need to see why they take sooooooo long to get orders completed.

AMAZING! The supermoon perro (hot dog) and the burger are to die for! This colombian bar food is great anytime - especially when you're drunk. They come with so many good toppings... I don't even know what all of them are! The roasted potatoes come with fried weiners on top!!!! Need I say more??! They also make a really good Cuban coffee...

Used to be good. Went in on evening of January 5th with a large group of people, and waitress was extremely rude. Complained to the manager who told me to f*** off. I was reminded why i hadn't been here in a while. I used to bring out of town visitors here, and used to love getting a nice late night snack. Will never be returning.

When in Miami, do as the locals do. And I can't think of a better local to emulate than Yelp CM Maria! So when she suggested burgers at Tobacco Road or some more ethnic fare at La Moon, the decision was a given. I can only explain away the ridiculous amount of food we ordered (and I consumed) by the fact that it had been ages since we had lunch and I had more to drink than I needed at Badrutt's. There's really no other excuse for getting... - french fries with fried hot dogs - blood sausage with arepas - empanadas - and two Supermoon perros Believe it or not, I absolutely devoured my entire Supermoon perro. Have you seen the size of these things?! Jawbreakers. But in the good way, if y'know what I mean. That's -after- destroying an empanada, half the blood sausage, half the ridiculously huge pile of shoestring fries, and trying out one of the pasty, crispy arepas. If you've even been out late at night drinking in DC, chances are you've hit up one of the various Jumbo Slice pizza joints around the District. Well, I feel like I've now experienced the Miami native's equivalent, and I'm pretty sure it's superior. How do we import a La Moon up here? On second thought, never mind. I can't afford to consume an extra five thousand calories a day.

Oh La Moon you could have been so much better had you but better service. I walked into this place with two of my friends around 2 am after a great time at Transit Lounge which is just two blocks north. We were so hungry.. and that's probably why we stayed and endured terrible service. You walk in and there is usually a line by the door. But then there's an empty table.. Do you wait to be seated? You don't know. So you go and grab the table and sit. No one comes by.. so you go and grab the menu and distribute it to your friends. OH hello! You must be a waiter.. Get your order in now or you won't see the one maybe two people that are waiting tables for a few years. No I'm not kidding. The food is delicious. And that's why you stay. The Moon burger is my favorite.. I absolutely love Columbia Vast Food since Los Perros showed me the light many years ago. But this is not Los Perros. It's an overcrowded, under staffed place that has gotten too popular and probably will not fix it because it doesn't have to. It will still get swamped but hungry club goers into the middle night on a Friday and Saturday. We waited what seemed hours for just a burger. After we finished eating we found our waitress again.. got the check in another 5 minutes.. The price is not an issue. $5 for a great big burger is awesome. She took our money and we waited a really long time for her to just come back with some change. How hard is it to come back with $7... Hey! We just saw you walk past us! "I'll be right back with your change"...another 5 minutes and we left and left no tip. For the lack service. Granted it's probably not her fault. And she probably thought we were jerks for not tipping but its the only way to send a message.. if they are smart enough to get it. :(

Im going to write this message in spanish, hope they read it.

Cheap, casual, large portions and feel good food: that about sums up La Moon for me. Yes, you MUST try the hot dogs there. I've ordered the fully loaded one before and I'm telling you, it was delish! Now, this place isn't my first choice for cheap, easy food, but it's not a place I'd say no to. It's easy to find and easy on my wallet. It may soon be an option after partying, that is, if I can remember to try something new when in that state!

Mmmm.... La Moon. Very delicious. Random hole in the wall on 8th St in Brickell. The moon burger or moon chicken burger- to die for. As a late night snack it's unbeatable (unless you're really wanting to be bad then the hot dogs are amazing, they're covered with random crap (mayo based sauces and picknix sticks) and come in a little carton with one end cut off so you can slide the hotdog and goodness into your mouth... disgusting yet delicious) And lest I undermine it because it's so amazing for late night food, it's a good daytime option too. The portions are large and well priced. The shrimp and plantains dish is always good as are their specials i've tried. Yum yum, yum. They also deliver and tend to be quick and friendly.

Amazing food the bandeja paisa is delicious as well as the empanadas! Haven't tried the hot dog yet but the moon burger is also really good. The prices are a little bit high so that's the only downside

Small place perfect for late night eats. There were about nine of us on a busy Friday night at this small, Colombian joint. It took a little while to seat us and then obviously longer to get us all food. The service wasn't the best but considering the time, the venue being packed and how friendly they were its ok. The menu is in English and Spanish. A few of us at the table including me ordered a Super Perro (Super Dog) and all of us loved this messy treat. The others at our table were lovin' their own dishes from super burgers to stuffed arepas. Yummy yummy And then the bill came and it was amazing to see how little such great food costs. I have a new favorite got to and it's name is La Moon.

The quintessential late night food spot, the perro colombiano, super moon perro, and super moon burger, are fantastic... but you're basically paying for the condiments and the way they prepare it, nothing special about the franks and beef they use. Unfortunately the service is horrible, which is mostly due to the amount of time it takes to make your order which is directly related to the waitresses, servers, and cooks being over whelmed with the amount of people that show up at 4am to buy food. of course when it's that packed it also has an effect on seating in the restaurant which is not that big. I would say going here earlier on in the evening might make it a 4 star locale, except I've done that and the food wasn't that spectacular when I was sober.

Had a late night supermoon perro snack and dessert! They are super friendly and service was great! Food was even better! We stayed till they closed and watched as more and more of the after party crowd came in for a bite. Loved it so much we came back a few days later with kids for their $3.99 breakfast special and another supermoon perro! Love the ease coming and sitting.... There's a relaxed feel to the place and service.

After reading excellent reviews here, we were more than happy to discover this restaurant and we went there for lunch. We had the pan seared salmon for $12.95 and the special of the day (a soup with chicken) for $8.50. The salmon was delicious and the soup was just ok (with rice and salad as sides). To drink we just asked for water and it was horrible! Even the pool water tastes better... next time we will have a diet coke. The service was pretty fast and professional however we waited a long time and other tables (with people who came after us) were served before us. I am not sure we will come back at La Moon, maybe to try another special and give a second chance to this restaurant. I hope they will change the water...

been here a couple of times. my biggest complain would be the slow service. for me, a good or bad service in ANY restaurant can make or break my experience. both times i went, it took forever to bring out the food. i went one time in the afternoon, not many people inside, and ordered a burger and a hotdog, yet it took almost 40minutes! inexcusable. second time i went we ordered 2 main dishes. it was in the evening and it was packed, so the wait is understandable. but even then the service was subpar. maybe the waiters and cooks could work a little more efficiently and provide better service if the tip wasnt already included in the check! the food its self is good, always recommend the empanadas with aji. one minor pet peeve for me is the menu isnt entirely colombian (fettuccini pasta? wtf) and this coming from someone whose family is colombian. again, just a pet peeve of mine. other than that, the restaurant looks nice. but im not planning on coming here anytime soon. weather its a main course, or colombian fast food youre looking for, i suggest you go somewhere else. im surprised people continue to pack this place. i can only assume most are first time visitors, tourists, or simply customers that settle for crappy service. La Moon food-wise is good, but ive had better Colombian cuisine AND service in Miami.

  • Sari M.

Only been there 1 times but not happy... full and hot place, not comfortable... the server came to our table, don't understand english, she keep talking spanish... i told her i don't speak spanish and she keep talking and offer the menu, just feel not lived in United States specially some place in Miami, come on you should to learn english at least for simple and basic food... don't expect everyone speak spanish in Miami... what you expect when your server not speak english, the food arrived in your table just the best of her knowledge then... not enough utensil, no water refill maybe she feel afraid that we asking few things and asking some explanation from the menu... i just order what the basic menu n the popular one then...

after hearing rave reviews from all my friends i finally tried la moon about a year ago and WOW!! the super perro is just simply wow. who wouldve thought a hot dog could possibly be that good. the arepas were just alright and the fries were ok. its literally a hole in the wall and if its really crowded you may not find a seat and your food can take a while. but the super perro, totally still worth it!!

Even though Colombian food is not my favorite, this place makes a delicious roasted tomato soup and a great sancocho, and a good churrasco steak. Love how they give you moon-shaped yucca fries with the steak.

I was told this was the place to eat after a night of clubbing. It was a bit dissapointing, although I wasn't expecting much. We all had the same thing, the supermoon perro. It was packed!! We had to wait for a party to leave to get a table. The waitress was running around like a chicken without a head! The hot dog was alright but nothing special. The service, though I understand it was packed, was lacking. The waitress forgot several items (drinks, fries). This place has, however, inspired me to visit other South American hot dog places.

They only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because their wait staff is horribly slow! Don't go there if your in a rush to get in and out, but if you have the time to sit and enjoy a bite your golden! I highly recommend the hot-dog, or the french fries covered in cheese with diced up hot-dogs. DELICIOUS

If I was able to give ZERO stars, I would've. In fact, I am in complete shock that this restaurant managed to get 4 stars. I beg to differ. I went there tonight with my boyfriend and his family (17 people total). I usually don't write reviews but I felt a strong need to for this joke of a restaurant. The majority of us had the "Perro Colombiano" which I typically enjoy at Los Perros, was a sad disappointment at La Moon. The bun was overwhelmingly soaked with sauces, barely any crushed chips, and the hot dog was mushy; no snap. We also ordered the yuca frita but quite honestly one can find better yuca fries at Pollo Tropical. As for the service, Danna, our passive aggressive waitress was definitely someone you don't want anywhere near any sort of customer service job. I understand that we are a big crowd, however, she rushed us and any little question we had regarding ingredients, she would give us an answer that did not even make sense. Danna is one of those waitresses who, although you specifically ask for your appetizer (yuca fries) to come first as it should, yet she brings out everything all at once. We also ordered a Crazy Moon Burger as the hot dogs were not filling. Unfortunately that is not what we received. This burger is supposed to come with egg, bacon, and ham, however my boyfriend and I didn't realize it until we ate only a quarter of it. We addressed this to Danna our "waitress" who said "hmph so you tell me this after you've eaten all of it!" Quite honestly I could not believe how rude and how much of an attitude she had about this matter, especially since it was THEIR mistake that we did not get what we ordered. No "I'm sorry let me make you another" NOTHING. We had to pay for sub-par food that we did not even order. I will be taking myself, my boyfriend, and my 17 family members anywhere else but La Moon. What a disgusting and disappointing way to spend a Saturday night. Never ever again!

I went here with high hopes because of all of the high ratings. I must say I wasn't really impressed. That said I am very impressed with the price though. Being in the Brickell area it is very cheap. Menu can be seen at: allmenus.com/fl/miami/21… I went here sober so the food didn't impress me. This was only my first time so I may come back drunk and try some other things. The pepito de pollo did look like an artery clogging good time. Being a fan of empandas, I had to give them a try. The only kind being served was carne. They were fried empanadas. I must say that I am a bigger fan of baked empanadas, but they were ok. However, the (I don't know the spanish word for it) dipping sauce that came with the empanadas was excellent! It also came with my arepa. SO GOOD! I also had the Supermoon Arepa. It was ok. It didn't really wow me but the chorizo inside and the arepa itself were both good. I don't think the Supermoon is worth getting again. The full menu is pretty large so I will be back during the daylight hours to try out some of their other offerings. A "rating" edit may be coming in the near future. As of now....not really impressed.

okay so its not the best perros i've had since i've been in miami, but since its in brickell and we were leaving space covered in paint (long story) we decided to stay in the area and get some food. the service was slow but considering it was packed at 5am i sort of understand it.

Hands down!!! The best burger in Miami. It's family owned and you can tell that the food is fresh, tasty and it's open late night. The empanadas, arepas, hot dogs and burgers are the best Colombian food I have ever had and it will not break the bank!!!!

Starving and stumbled upon La Moon. Whoa, what a sweetheart deal! $12 dinners and $5 glasses of wine (a very heavy pour-yes!). Ordered the Seared Sesame Tuna, damn that was good. The plates are artistic and yet the portion is generous. How often does that happen, right? This is a not-to-be-missed downtown destination!

Whoa whoa whoa!!!! If anyone enjoys 4th meal as much as I do... You know after a long night of drinking..you will love La Moon. Although it can get pretty packed late night it is worth the time it takes to sober you up. The meat empanadas delicious. Perro colombiano with French fries will send you to heaven early! They put everything on this hotdog: pineapple sauce, ketchup, cheese, shoestring fries....I'm getting a craving just writing about it! Best of all it's cheap eats in Brickell!

Burger four real **** 3:30 am on a Thursday and it's packed. There's a cop running the line for people to get seated; I'm very interested and hungry. The service is not great, but that's because they have two waitresses on staff running with there heads cut off. I ordered the la moon burger, and it was delicious. Very unique sauce and flavor. One of the best burgers I've ever had. I just would never think it would have come from Colombia.

This is my late night fav spot! Although, I must say that Los Perros in Kendall is my top choice for cheap, quick, Columbian food, but considering I live in Brickell La Moon will do just fine. I typically eat here around 3-5am after several hours of good drinking, dancing, etc. and get home a happy person. No complaints from my end! My top picks are 1) MoonMazorca Desgranada, 2) Crazy Moon Burger, 3) Arepa Con Queso, 4) Supermoon Perro!

  • Adriana D.

okay, to be honest, I can't really stand behind my review 100% because I have not been here sober...BUT, from if memory serves me correct (it's possible), this place was pretty damned good! I had the Supermoon Perro - sausage, bacon, cheese, potato crisps, a bunch of sauces and a quail egg (?!) - oh yeah, there was a hot dog in there too I think! and a beer (yes, more alcohol) and it was so immense I couldn't finish it. it was a mish-mash of flavors but it was still remarkably good. At $5.50 you really can't beat that. I certainly think that it is best reserved for drunken recovery and hangover, but I really do want to try it on the regular to give it a fair review. I'm sure I'll be back again before long, not as sure whether I'll be sober or not!

    (4)
  • Lindsay P.

Oooooh, La Moon. The perfect food for drunkeness (yeah, it's not a real word) and hangovers. My favorite is the chicken and cheese arepa. Gigantic, carb-filled, slightly greasy goodness that pairs perfectly with all previously consumed alcohol. YUM.

had great service from our server Johanna. Food took a while but completely understandable, the place was packed! We did have a bad situation with the choice of glass ware they gave us (Styrofoam cups). It seemed like it was an owner or managers judgment call. A bad one! The asst manager Elvis was really nice and took care of it. The empanadas were soooo rocking! We walked out full and very happy!!!

This place tastes pretty good. Very small and often crowded (always late night), I think it's perfect for take out. I had the mountain plate (red beans rice, corn pancake, steak, pork belly) -- took about 15 min. I wouldn't order desserts from here since they don't make their own. Arepas - corn pancake stuff with meat (shredded kind) and alot of cheese. Burgers (with those shoestring fries) and hotdogs -- good fast food. the super perro dog is a little on the sweet side. the mazorca (corn with meat, chicken, sausage, etc is ok) They also serve breakfast -- had their steak and eggs plate with arepa/cheese. The red beans and rice is particularly flavorful from the added pork. now they have expanded to the building next door. since opening their bakery next door -- they now have pan de bono! but it sells out fast. as in -- you have to arrive by 8 AM, and it's gone by 9:30AM !! got to get here when they open for it! its so good, the freshly puffed cheesy bread tastes awesome the pan de queso isn't as good still have the great menu, but price a little on the higher side compared to a few other places. daily specials can sell out as well the little storefront has some frozen goods and stuff like manjarblanco

After a long night of wandering the Vanguard exhibit and a few other Art Basel treats my feet were in need of rest and my stomach was in need of substance, La Moon was perfect. Much like other columbian hotdog type places like Mao's or Los Perros, La Moon provided me with a giant hot dog covered in Mozzarella cheese, pineapple sauce, tiny fries, ketchup, mayo...etc and all with a postobon apple soda too. It was busy but not packed and my friends and I left perfectly satisfied. This was not healthy but it hit the spot oh so right. I will go again I'm sure.

Oh man, where to start? We came here via taxi around 5 am and the dang place was STILL poppin' like it was 1am! I was blown away. We ordered takeout and boy did we wait a long time. Aside from being the only Asians in the building, we didn't speak Spanish as well -- thus the long wait. How do I know? The locals were telling us so. LOL. We ordered the super perro, cheesy corn, and something else I don't remember. The food overall was OK. I think we would have enjoyed it more if we had been able to eat there. I think we also didn't order the right stuff off the menu. If I'm ever in Miami, I probably won't go out of my way to try it again but if you're in the area, then totally go for it!

I had my first meal here after landing in MIA. My friend, who lives around this place, took us to La Moon. I had the platter that came with steak, rice, plantains, black beans and sausage. My steak was delicious. Absolutely delicious. Great value for the price. I also had one of the fresh juices. It was very refreshing. I would highly recommend this restaurant for cuban food. Service might be a little slow though. Overall, I was quite happy.

Just got home from La Moon. Usually one thinks of this place as an after hours, just got out of the club place to go eat; but wanted to take my friend from Ohio to eat there so we decided to go at around 6pm. The menu was different than that of when u go at 3am. The daytime menu offers a greater selection of dishes. Actually very good food. Very authentic Colombian food. My friend actually ordered a "Bandeja Paisa" and ate it all. WOW. Of course now he is paying for it. I had the skirt steak with rice, beans, and sweet plantains. Yummy and pretty authentic as well. We also ordered empanadas and yuca frita. Delish. A lot of the things are fried and fatty so don't go if you are on a diet. Service is good. Waitresses are nice but since things are made when you order them it takes some time to get your order. All in all a great casual quasi fast food joint.

Super Perro!!! Don't leave there without having it. The hotdog to end all hotdogs!!! DIVINE! Friend onions, sausage, bacon, 5 sauces, quail egg (yeah, I know. But don't knock it until you try it!). This is the greatest thing I have eaten in years! Parking is tough, as it's on a one way street. But worth the effort.

If you are out drinking..this is a great place to go after the bar! My husband and I LOVED the breakfast special but we were SO disappointed last week when we visited. I am not sure if it is under new managment, or they got a new chef..but the breakfast was awful. We rave about this place to everyone that lives around here..now I don't know if we'll return. I am willing to give it one more chance, but not only was the food quality poor, the coffee tasted horrible.. Worst of all they raised the breakfast by 2.00, (which I know isn't alot of money..but when the original price was 3.50, they have increased the price 60%) If the quality of the food was the same as it was before I would not care about the price increase..but the fact the price has gone up, and the quality has gone down..makes me think we'll need to find a new breakfast joint.

This place has some great options for some pre-hangover grub. As I've only been here on pseudo-drunk occasions, I can attest that it works. The La Moon burger hits the spot right before it's time to call it a night. The arepas and empanadas here also do the job like no other. Little known fact is that they DELIVER. I don't know the delivery area, but if you are close it is worth a shot. Just my $0.02.

This place is like a Man vs food Adam Richman shrine as his picture is posted everywhere! I just love me some wieners. And when you make it a super moon perro wiener, you just have to close your eyes, put it in your mouth and take a nice big bite. Ouch but delicious! I had the super moon Perro hot dog AND mazorca. Both were very good and make the perfect late night food! I look forward to trying more late night grub here after a night of boozing!

The Best Colombian style burger (or any style burger for that matter) in MIAMI...No doubt! Moon Burger rocks my socks! I like it, I LOVE IT, can't get enough of it! All components of this burger are super yummy starting off with the beef patty...but the pineapple sauce is no doubt what gives this burger that extra special delicious touch...I haven't had one bad dish at this place. I used to work nearby and I'd order breakfast and lunch from here quite frequently...so much so that they learned to recognize my voice, knew me by name and knew what my usual order was when I called in to place delivery orders...now I only come by on late nights after partying in the area...staff at all times of the day is super nice & food at all times of the day is great...Los Perros doesn't hold a candle to La Moon.

I came here after my birthday blast at blue martini. This place was popping on Friday night! We waited about 8 minutes for tables of seven. Service was phenomenal. Ray hooked me up with a birthday flan dessert after my crazy moon burger. Thank you Ray! What do I think about the burger? Freaking huge!!! Didn't even finish. It taste good though. The egg gave it a nice touch. I also got the frito yuka. Delicious as always. Which reminds me, pollo tropical also serves fried yuka sticks. Now I want pollo tropical.. Sigh 4 stars for this place.

This place has good food but their deliver is horrible. It always takes over an hour, often missing items, and sometimes food is cold. If you're in the mood for LaMoon go pick it up or eat there. They might as well not even deliver it might better serve the La Moon Brand.

I took my boyfriend to try some Colombian food, and it was delicious. He fell in love with Colombian hot dogs. I would give it a 5 stars if it wasn't for the waitress ignoring us for a part of the service. Aside from that everything was amazing.

So I came here the other night with friends on my birthday. I've been coming to La Moon for years since it was at the old location, but after what happened that night I don't think I'll be returning again. We all ordered our food and while we were eating we had a huge cockroach crawl on the wall right next to us. We told the waitress about it and she looked at us as if she's not going to do anything about it. Then the cockroach proceeded to crawl down the windowsill right next to us, so one of our party had to take of his shoe to kill it. I took a picture of it and uploaded it so you can see what I'm talking about. We showed the manager and he apologized and comped all of our food (which was nice of him) but I will not be returning here.

Colombian food is probably my favorite! Although the food was great, the service was not anywhere close to decent! My friend had to argue just to get an older lady to help us. It took 20 minutes to get their attention, although I would've left my friend was very hungry. Once we got the food (45 min after ordering) it was worth the wait. I probably won't be visiting this place anytime soon but I recommend going when it's not busy.

late night hot dogs and burgers only otherwise you will feel so guilty any other time Lots of late night food options in the area so why go to La Moon ? Because it's fast, easy, cheap and tasty. Hot dogs or hamburgers covered in the mystery sauces ... Then topped with papitas ? Why not? - especially at 3-4am. Any other late night option is good as well : chicken fingers, French fries etc. Just know that the speciality is the Colombian hot dog. I'm aware they serve regular food and at regular hours ... But I just don't see myself going. Not sure if it's a place I can go to when I'm sober.

I have a true love for anything Colombian, and that doesn't stop at the food either! Had their classic La Moon burger and it was great. Something about their pink sauce(ketchup and mayo) and the crispy chips makes my heart flutter...don't tell the misses!

  • Henry A.

NPS = 7 Colombian hot dogs! Obviously, best eaten after 3:00am and most likely as you are stumbling out of Blackbird. Again, nothing out of the ordinary about this place but the location makes it very appetizing. I have only come to this place after midnight and after a night of bar hopping through Brickell. The maisito is alright, but definitely stick to the Colombian hot dog loaded with everything.

  • Margorie G.

Their super moon perro is literally one of the best things I've ever eaten! Just because it's considered Colombian fast food does not take away from the complexity and delicious flavors this dish I packed with. And yes I know I'm talking about a hot dog. You have to stop and try it. It has hot dog, sausage, bacon, little fries, and the most delicious mixture of sauces (one of them being pineapple...Yup pineapple) I've ever tasted all to be topped by a quail egg. It's definitely messy so roll up your sleeves and grab a handful of napkins and enjoy the best hot dog of your life.

The waitress took forever to bring us drinks, take our order and when the food FINALLY got there after 45mims waiting they dropped our food by accident on the floor. I will NOT be bAck this place sucks!

Perfect drunk food, I would think. I only had 3 drinks that night so it was a bit daunting. I shared the Super Salchipapas (Fried hot dog, smoked sausage, quail egg and french fries with pink sauce) and still it was too much!! Quail eggs are so cute and tiny. Pink sauce was delish - not too spicy. Overall OK but nothing that great, I think I found it too much.

Food was excellent. Very impressed. The only reason I give them 3 stars is because of the wait staff. They weren't mean but they definitely did rush to help. We just sat there as plenty of wait staff past by ignoring us. Not a hello we will be right with you or have you been helped. Other clients seem to experience the same. Eventually someone flagged down our waiter because we kept asking. He was really nice and helpful. He seemed to have lots of tables. So we didn't see him much. When we asked for real forks and knives a waitress said they didn't have any only plastic. But the table next to us had real forks and knives. We eventually got some. I think this place could easily be 4-5 stars with better wait staff.

I don't know why this place is so famous. I ordered an empanada. It took over 20 mins and was cold and soggy. Tried it again at a less busy time. Same thing. Wanted to order the soup of the day. A cup was 9$ for 'colombian' chicken soup? Nope. Ill go back once more and try a hot dog, since everyone seems to like it, but every time I go there, its brickell pricing for cheap food.

Had brunch here recently. Food was of good quality and freshness. I had the vegetable omelet, my wife had rice, black beans and plantains and our friends had the breakfast special, all were very good. Best was the coffee. Service was slow, but we were not in much of a hurry. Prices were reasonable. Good place, but not outstanding. I'll go back just for the coffee.

1st time here today. Food was really good, and the price was really inexpensive. Server was good, but did wait a bit for a drink refill, but nothing to blow a gasket over. The hamburger i had was awesome (beef, bacon fried egg, ham, chips, lettuce and tomatoes). It was huge. will definitely be back for more.

COLOMBIAN HOTDOGS. What is a Colombian hotdog? Regular hot dog, regular bun, topped with POTATO CHIPS, 5 types of sauces (don't ask me what kind they are!) and a quail egg. SO GOOD. Great service too! Both times I went (2 days back to back), we were kindly offered a table immediately. The menu has a good amount of offerings including arepas, fried yuca, and of course the hot dogs! I ordered their La Moon special (the hotdog I described above). Sooooo good! Bread was soft but wasn't soggy. Of course it was messy but still so good! The chips weren't soggy from the sauces too. I just wish I got another quail egg haha basically it is everything you think it is I also got their hot dog with steak too which was flavorful, tender steak chunks sautéed with onions and bell peppers and stuffed into the bun! Nom nom

This place is the bomb! - Super moon perro!! - yummy hot dog with lots of unknown sauce...just so tasty though - Yuca fries - crispy on the outside, starchy on the inside. Don't really know how to explain it but they're so good, and the sauce too! Decent price tag is always a plus! :)

Came here with my boyfriend and his cousin, with them being Columbian I figured they should know what Brickell has to offer for Columbian dishes. I am very impressed with La Moon!!! I like Columbian bakeries, and some places have good dishes, but I don't go to Columbian spots very often when I want "fast food". Their salchipapa is the best I've ever had! The hot dog is 100% beef and it's not fried in a lb of grease like other places. Their fries are also very good. Pink sauce is just right, not overpowering like other places I've been to. Next, I had their empanadas. I am very picky when it comes to Columbian empanadas. These were pretty good, filled with a large amount of shredded beef but the meat had no seasoning. I' m Cuban so c'mon, I need some onions and garlic or something lol. It also could have used a little more potato. I used their "salsa picante" and it made it a lot better. We then ordered the Arepa con Queso. Wow!!!! The best Arepa I've had in the streets!!!!! My best friend is Columbian and her mom makes homemade ones for me, and I must say that La Moon's Arepa can compare. It was the perfect texture, toasted and buttery, yet still soft on the inside. I ended up just pealing the cheese off and eating the Arepa lol Last I had, what I think is the best on their menu, the Arepa Moon Burger. I expected for the beef to be nothing out if this world, but I was wrong. It was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I ordered it without sauce because I actually like to taste what I'm eating rather then drench it in sauce. It came with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese and a qual egg. The egg was cooked well done, I would have preferred over easy. It was a really, really good burger!!! Warning: service is not great. I was prepared for that since I read yelp before I came. If you're going to order a lot of food, order all at once when you get there. Staff was nice, but nothing out of the norm. Hope this helps my fellow Yelpers

I don't frequently come here but when I do I understand why I barely come. I have been sitting here for 15minutes already and not once has the waiter come to ask even if we want water. The service is always soooooo slow! Management you might want to train your staff better. But besides that the food never disappoints. So I give the cooks credit.

The arepa burgers are super delicious, filling, and inexpensive. La moon has a very casual atmosphere, with limited space to sit out front. This was the cheapest meal I got while in Miami, but one of the most delicious too.

Used to come here all the time when i lived in the brickell area. opens late specially on weekends and after partying at baru/blue martining. I really like their areapas and ajiacos when they offer them. i was introduced to this place by my friends in 2010 and have been going to la moon ever since then the "old" la moon and now the newer "la moon". warning it can get very crowded on late weekend nights but still worth the wait.

I saw this place on the food channel on the tv show Man VS Food. No disappointment at all with their food. It brings back a little bit of Colombia. You ask for extra sauce and they just give you too many! Always end up at this place after a night out !

Crazy moon Berger it's really good , ham , egg and bacon with the classic pink sauce ohh my god , I give then three star because the service it's horrible , You try to call for pick up or delivery and it's always a mess it's better eat there , bandeja paisa is good too.

  • Rigo C.

Diabloooo, this place alone seriously made my trip to Miami worth it. I got that crazy moon arepa burger, I think that's what it's called, literally the best burger I ever had, and instead of buns, it's sandwiched between two arepas Service is good, ambiance is good, I heard this place is great after a night of heavy partying but I tried this after a night/morning of heavy raging lol, no sleep. I really regret not trying that super perro, especially after I found out that it was featured on Man Vs. Food *tear* If you're ever in Miami, try it, you won't regret it, especially if you're a foodie. P.S. Try one of their house made fruit drinks, dankkkk.

Best hotdogs in town. They are open very late so you can pass by anytime if you are having a craving. It is usually packed so the service is slower than most places but their food is so good it is worth it.

Wanted to try this place out after reading reviews about the Super Moon Perron hot dog.. It was excellent..very tasty and loved the sauces and toppings. Great combination of flavors. The place wasn't the cleanest but food was good and our server, Bianca, was super friendly and attentive. Overall a good experience.

Food is absolutely amazing...especially after a night of drinking. I'd definitely recommend the Columbian hot dog. This place only lost a star with me because they call the numbers for your order in Spanish and if you don't answer, they just move on to the next person. I'd recommend communicating in English as well because not everyone habla Espanol, you know?

If you're going to La Moon for the quality of its food, you're likely to be disappointed. Really, the truth is that there are better mazorcas and perros and salchipapas to be had in Miami, where awesome Colombian food abounds. Really, the thing about La Moon is its location, which is both a strength and a weakness. My last stop at La Moon, I ordered their super-duper-extreme-kick-you-in-the-face mazorca, which was loaded with bacon and pork chunks and I think beef and very likely some unicorn meat. It was a solid mazorca. Not great, but again, that's not why people go to La Moon. No, people come here because, after a night at Mary Brickell Village and its surrounding dens of iniquity, La Moon is ready to welcome you with big, fat, flabby, OPEN Colombian arms. It's a pit stop lying somewhere on the map between dead drunk and dead asleep. In this case, La Moon's location is a definite plus. Then again... Despite how unique you think your idea is when you jump up between shots and scream, "Haha! We should all go to La Moon after this!" the truth is that you are not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You are the same decaying organic matter as everyone else, and we are all part of the same compost pile. (Brownie points if you can name the book/movie.) By the time you've had the idea, so has the rest of the cattle (myself included) grazing for women (myself not included) and booze (myself included) in the Brickell area. Inevitably, once 3 a.m. hits, the stampede begins, and any chance you have at getting a table depends on how functioning you and your moo-cow friends still are. The fact is that, if you're going to make it before some stranger and HIS moo-cow friends, you may have to leave someone behind. So: how loyal are you?

I love this place. Its been around for ages. I remember it was across the street and was a tiny restaurant. I have been coming for their perros colombianos for at least 10 years now. Give it a try - its amazing!

  • Sydney R.

For those of you who describe La Moon as "drunk food", shame on you. Just because it's sinfully delectable, cheap, and (relatively) fast doesn't mean it qualifies to be labeled as such. Perhaps you're correlating it with your behavior before and/or after your visit, hmmm? Me? I've gone there stone-cold sober. During the day. But I'm getting off topic. Yes, we all know what goes into a hot dog. But if you're going to throw caution to the wind this is the way to go, my friend. The three different sauces...the crispy topping...the quail egg (you heard me! quail egg!)...after eating this mouthwatering creation you'll realize you may have been eating a hot dog the wrong way the whole time. Put down the Oscar Mayer and proceed directly to La Moon.

We went in June after a big band show a couple blocks away. Boyfriend had the best hotdog ever, with pink sauce bacon and a quail egg. I had a chicken torta I think. It was 2 corn discs with chicken in between. Food was very good and reasonable in price

As a person who has worked in customer service, I believe it's absolutely ridiculous that I was treated so poorly the way this restaurant did. My office and I had ordered meals and when I went to pay for the entire staff, because it was separate payment, the girl was having a complete fit because I handed her the cards. Not only was she completely rude but complained the entire time that she was separating the tax for the order. When I ordered over the phone, according to the person who I had spoken with said there would not be a problem with the amount of separate payments we had. I ordered the carne asada and yuca frita which was alright. The carne asada was somewhat dry and difficult to cut. The pinto beans had more of the soup than actual beans. I could not complain about the yuca frita to be honest. They were cut thick and the garlic aioli was delicious. On another occasion, I had a coworker split her Crazy Moon burger and that was extremely amazing. If it weren't for the terrible experience, I would definitely order from there again. I might just go back for the burger but overall, the food is okay and the customer service was terrible.

  • C R.

Ugh, horrible. I came here during my lunch break to order take out. Not only did they take about 15-20 mins to take my order, but after ordering and sitting there on my phone (right in front of the cashier, by the way) for literally 30 minutes, I got up to ask her if my food was ready and when she saw me she immediately remembered, literally turned around, grabbed my food. and handed it to me. My food had been sitting there for God knows how long and she was apparently too busy talking to someone that she forgot to hand it to me. I ordered a burger and according to the menu it came with a side of fries. When I got the container, it felt somewhat empty so I checked. When I opened the box there wasn't a single fry. I went back to the cashier and she told me it didn't come with fries, so I told her that the menu said it did. She then told me that the menus they had on the stand there weren't for this location. What the heck. Why do you even have menus for a different restaurant? Or even worse, when you see a customer grabbing the wrong menu, why don't you say anything? I took my lunch back to work to eat it there. I had simply ordered a chicken burger to be on the safe side. I opened the box and - lo and behold - they had given me the wrong burger. (I think what they gave me was the crazy chicken sandwich instead) I took off most of what it had that I didn't want so that just the chicken was left, but even the chicken was unseasoned, under cooked, and just overall unappealing. So long story short: -Ridiculously slow service -Messy and not helpful -Not tasty whatsoever Seriously, save yourself the money, the 2837416 hours, and the stomachache.

It is definitely the place to go into if its late and you have been partying. Maybe thats why it seems to be so good? It definitely has a cult following, and hey... more power to them for achieving it with that food. On a Saturday afternoon we decided to go down to see how the food tasted when we aren't post paryting and drunk. Against all the rave reviews I must say that unless its late and the only thing open then yes its a great option, otherwise, I am just not that impressed. My Lulo juice had sugar granules on the bottom, my juice was not only too sweet but crunchy. I like crunchy - but not when its my juice. The empanadas were tiny. Good but tiny. The salsa picante was all liquid, no salsa. Its supposed to be chunky not liquid. The one reason I love Colombian Hamburgers is that they usually have loads of sauces and lettuce, which this burger did. Now, having said that there was a generic grocery store bun that was falling apart and the burger patty was also the kind you buy frozen in the store. Dry, cheap and tasteless. Not even the plentiful good sauces could hide it. Plus, I know it has the pinch (note the word PINCH) of shoestring fries, but hey how about a small amount of real fries to go with the burger? My hubby had a bandeja paisa, I tried it and it was good, not great. It included fried Yuca and Chorizo (Yuca doesn't come from the region that this dish is from, and Chorizo is not necessarily a staple on the dish either for the most part but they were ok) Small portions big price. The service here was good although I had to flag the girl down mid-meal to ask for more water, as I had completely consumed my juice before the meal even came because it took a while and no water or more juice was offered. Nice girl, just a bit distracted. It wasn't busy either. All in all, I do not agree that its the best place for Colombian fare. I have a couple of places in my neighborhood who have Colombian Hot Dogs, Burgers and Bandeja Paisas that are fantastic and at better prices too. I think I will just eat close to home.

I was hoping the cop's would park illegally so I could get a spot........... No such luck and no change to feed the meter to avoid the parking bitch, or bastard. La Moon Restaurant is situated underneath the metrorail and SE 7 St. and across from the apparent world infamous Starlite Hotel. You could just eat shoe leather and watch the affairs begin and end there (hey that's my wife!), entertainment value alone for this location is worth one star. Inside La Moon is just like every other Latin mom and pop restaurant, you know the one with the specials, dose huevos fritas, jamon, y cortadito (eggs, ham and coffee), they as I used to say in my former job "unremarkable". However, La Moon does have an eclectic and most remarkable menu. From fresh arepas to smoked Columbian sausage and pork bellies. La Moon is known for is super dog, a Columbian hot dog concoction of deep fried dog, bacon, aioli, mustard, potato sticks, and a kilo of other stuff. So the order of the day was the pork bellies, and super dog. The wait staff was friendly, but kinda slow, not "real I'm in Nassau slow", but slow. The first order was the pork bellies, they were served with two "flamethrower" hot arepas (cheese type pancake), well, the arepas once they cooled down were excellent, the pork, which is what are wonderful Latin friends are taught to cook when the get there first set of teeth was so hot, it was just ok, it was tough, smelled off and tasted as if fried in old oil. Well anticipating the entree of the famous super dog, and watching the infidels at the Starlite Hotel. If felt the pork bellies actual kick my Nellie (not good), but the super dog arrived and interesting it was. The super dog really presents it's self in it's own ecologically insensitive styrofoam case, so after you eat super dog, you can kill a sea turtle, but you'll find that you'll need this case. Just like you need the police sometimes and lawyers (eecch) or even worse bankers. Hence styrofoam is a reflection of society. But, the super dog was good, it was layered with multiple flavored and layered with texture. Each bite was creamy crunchy sweet and salty ( flaxen waxen hair, yeah baby, gimmie a head with hair) sorry it caused me to think of the oldie days. But, isn't that what food is supposed to do? Places like La Moon do have great food, but you have to seek it out, not everything on there menu is good. So go for what there known for. Watch the affairs come and go, do the late night thing there, it's way better the Denny's, and for what you get and the price you pay it's ok, relax and pray for the parking bitch!

An integral part of my Miami visit ritual. I will not come to Miami without getting their version of the Colombian hot dog, the SuperMoon Perro! I freaking love these things, so tasty, expect to get messy! Perfect with a side of salchipapas! Everything else I saw other people ordering looked great too...but if I'm there, I'm getting the Perro!

Good place to grab a bite during your lunch hour. Had the burger which was great - nothing bad to say about it. Friendly staff and great prices. Would definitely go back.

If you're a huge fan of condiments on your food... Try this place out! Never before have I tried such a filling hot dog, burger, or fries. They really make their portions huge! La Moon incorporates some of the most interesting sauces on their food and it tastes great! My only warning is be prepared to get messy. It's a bit difficult to manage all of the sauces and greasy ingredients as you pick it up to put it in your mouth. When I ate here I had the burger. Next time I think i'll try the super perro. I guess I was just too intimidated by my friend's description of the slurry of sauces and the addition of pineapple sauce as a hot dog topping. It looked and tasted awesome though. The burger was still great but for my tastes it was a bit too much. I'm more of a fan of thin greasy burgers and La Moon happens to serve thick greasy burgers. Still a great burger... but I just got sick of it a little too quickly. The fries- (Salchipapas) Were one of the most interesting fries I had ever eaten. You get fries, sausage, and their mystery sauce. Little knife picks for picking up the fries are included as well. Another place that I would be more than happy to visit the next time that I do come back home to Miami.

Great Columbian food at a great price. Originally i always got the Supermoon Perro, which is their specialty hot dog (as seen on Man vs. Food). It is a behemoth of a hot dog. However, i tried a few different items and was pleasantly surprised. The Supermoon Perro (5 types of meat, a large amount of cheese, all between two crunchy arepas, it really is great for late nights and low cost dinners. The Supermoon Burger is also worth getting if youre looking for a "Fully Loaded" burger. I try to come here as much as i can.

I ate here late-night with friends and brought it back to Blackbird next door. Food was amazing...we had the Arapas Con Queso and also with Carnes...both were awesome and the dipping sauces were delish...would love to find these in Chicago.

I have a love hate relationship with this place. Most of the time it wins me over because the food is so good, and it is conveniently open late on Fridays and Saturday when you mostly need them to be. If they could only pay a bit of attention to their service really, this place would definitely be a 5 star place. Their Colombian style hot dogs, the good burger and really a wide array of appetizers to feed the spirit, my heart is happy when I leave but I am usually disappointed at the lack of service. La Moon - pretty please with sugar on top - don't blow a good thing by sleeping in your good food laurels, bad service can take you down, and this would not be good for us late nighters.

It's my first time back since they relocated next to Blackbird Ordinary (formerly known as Transit Lounge). The space is larger, especially the outdoor area; but the food and the prices remain unchanged. The new location obviously does't have the free parking lot, but if you remember the old space, you know how ridiculously small the lot was anyway. This is still one of the best places to satisfy those late-night cravings after a night out on the town. Grab yourself a SuperMoon Perro and a Jugo de Lulo and let your stomach rejoice.

My husband has been dying to try this place and on Friday night, after a long week of work and not wanting to cook, fine. I wasn't too sure about these Columbian Perros (Columbian hot dogs!) because I dont typically like a lot of condiments and sauces - I like my burgers and dogs plain. We came here around 10pm and it was so crowded (we've driven by all hours and it's always crowded - it's open until 5am!) They have a few tables outside, the main seating area and then three little tables in the back. We ended up in the back. . I got a Crazy Moon burger w/o ham - it came with bacon and fried egg. It was really HUGE (had to use fork and knife to eat it) but it was so good. I uh, ate the whole thing. What I love is how fresh it tastes and the little crunch of the potato sticks. (They could have left me a side of potato sticks!) It has six homemade sauces on it and it was good - not overwhelming and had a nice mix of sweet and savory. Hubs got the Supermoon Perro and it was super - huge hotdog with FIVE different sauces, lettuce, quail egg, smoked sausage and bacon. We split a cheese arepa and it was ooey gooey cheese and perfect. I was pleasantly surprised and can't wait to go back again!

Fat and oil everywhere. I dont even feel like writing a review. Remove it if you have to yelp, but the stars are skewed towards the opinions of drunk people at 3am. Of course they love fatty stuff.

The service was very slow the night I went. Luckily I didn't have anywhere to go. I'm new to Colombian foods and enjoyed the new experience. Try the La Moon Beef Burger, it has unique components.

So, I was scared to try the supermoon perro (thinking uh-oh! super gut bomb) but to my surprise it was damn good and I didn't feel gross after eating it ! The quail egg (yummo) really makes it special. Also ordered the Friday special- chicken soup, which had incredible flavor, and was a nice hearty portion. It came with fried yucca - hot, crispy and just right. (was driving through dT Miami looking for a popular spot for lunch, so glad we tried it!)

I believe some of the high ratings arise from the fact that there are not that many Colombian restaurants in the area. Food is so so, simple dishes are slow to come out, and service is sub-par, there isn't this obvious desire to please that is expected, and common at many restaurants. I am not referring to one single waiter, during my recent lunch visit I interacted with a few staff members and the service was less than enthusiastic.

Like a lot of people who have visited La Moon, I went for the supermoon perro. My friend and I each ordered one and we almost ordered a second each. They are that good. Why four stars after only having a hotdog? Because it has been four months and I still dream about that damn perro. I WANT ANOTHER SUPERMOON PERRO!!! Seriously, I want one right now. I cannot wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. Some girls sitting next to me had arepas that looked phenomenal. The burgers looked good to. I saw a lot of happy, full people during my visit to La Moon.

La Moon was first introduced to me by a Colombian friend. She suggested the spot and helped us navigate the menu, suggesting the mazorca desgranado (corn with pink sauce, potato sticks, lettuce and LOTS of cheese), papa criollo (tiny round potatoes) and a mora shake con leche (blackerry shake made with milk). I was skeptical at first, but immediately realized the genius in the simple ingredients cooked really well. Everything she had suggested was wonderful, and since I've gone back many times on my own, repeating my selctions and adding a few new choices...the supermoon arepa is a carnivore's dream filled with different meats (sausage, steak, bacon and chicken) and cheese, and is incredibly juicy and flavorful. The tostones are good but are vastly improved with the addition of a little salt and the request of the pink sauce that comes on the mazorca. Also, I've been told by friends that the perros are great. The only cons are that the food can be a little greasy, the desserts are pre-packaged and disappointing, and the ordering can sometimes be tricky if your Spanish is poor (or nonexistent in my case). Other friends have also been disappointed with the burgers and chicken marsala (although really why anyone would expect to get good Italian in a Colombian restaurant is still a source of confusion to me). The place is small (just two tiny rooms with a couple of tables and a few more tables outside) and the decor is pretty spartan (with the exception of the two large tvs often providing interesting entertainment, ranging from Spanish music videos to gameshows). For the most part though, the food is tasty and inexpensive and is open well into the early hours of the morning, making it a great spot for lunch, dinner or a late night snack!

Bland, cheap, food with poor and unreliable, service. We got there around 11PM and ordered our drinks. They took a few minutes, but thats fine. I ordered the chicken kebabs and my two buddies the burger. The kebabs got there and they looked extremely lame. The chicken wasn't nicely seared, but decently seasoned. It came with a side "salad" which was some shredded lettuce with 1/4 of a tomato. No dressing, no sauce, and FWOOP, the waitress disappears. I try flagging down other ones, but I just get ignored. Meanwhile, my buddies tell me the burger meat is thin and tasteless, and all the other ingredients overpower the burger meat. Finally, I get fed up with the service and walk to their counter/kitchen and demand some sauce. They give me a small thing of pink sauce. Fine. I throw it all over my salad. By that time I was done with the chicken and the small boiled potato. $7.25 for that and I was still hungry. The ONLY good thing was the fried yuca. A small order of about 5 yuca fries wich runs you almost $6. Ridiculous. Never again.

Even though deep down I'm a purist and believe hot dogs need nothing else but mustard, I have to say I was impressed with this place. The arepa with meat and cheese was outstanding. The arepa was soft and warm in the inside and crispy in the outside, the meat and cheese all melted together. Delicious. The salchipapas were good, nothing more than fries mix with pieces of hot dog but that's the magic, so simple yet so good. The Supermoon perro was good, whats not to like about a hot dog with bacon. I did like the sauce but didn't like the quantity. So much sauce I did not attempt to pick up the hot dog, and this is coming from someone who enjoys getting messy while eating.

Picture it: Saturday night. 2 a.m. Drinks were aflowing next door and now my friends and I need food in our system. We go to the last table at La Moon and get ready for a feast. This place is your typical Colombian fast food joint. Hot dogs, arepas, empanads, the usual. But what I love about the hot dogs here, besides the lovely quail egg on top, is that the hot dogs are wrapped in bacon. Yum! So I order the hot dog, an empanada de carne (which by the way, the usual picante sauce it comes with was just right!), eat half my friends empanada, and sip on some Colombiana. Definitely a great way to end a night! Just a warning though, they have a $10 minimum when using a card!

Took 4 tries to get ahold of someone to take my order over the phone.By the time I finally spoke to someone he made me repeat my phone number 5 times and I speak VERY clear English with no accent, AND he was rude to top it off. Got so frustrated I ended up not even ordering. POOR service. Lucky their food is good cuz their staff sucks ass.

Ok, this pains me. I ama HUGE fan of la moon.Even when i lived in broward for so many years.. Every time i came to visit my friends in Miami.. I requested la moon. This evening, after having ordered la moon many times for take out and delivery recently.. I learn that apparently la moon no longer offers delivery nor take out after midnight Sunday through Thursday. This is the most ridiculous decision i have seen recently from a marketing standpoint.. But also as a consumer i find it offensive. This establishment does considerable business from its nearby college student population.. And I, my yelp friends, am not in college anymore (unfortunately). Not for many years now. And i happen to always look to la moon for a late night dinner after a long shift at the office or just a random " I'm hungry" late night. I truly hope, as a fan of the food, that la moon can get back to its roots and start catering to its loyal consumers again. I am eating cereal tonight.. For this reason only. Cammie

I've found myself here a few times after getting out of blackbird. They have a dish with corn (sorry forgot the name) that's more than amazing. And if you are hungry go for the Hotdogs or the burger. My wife & I had both and OMG. Awesome!!!

This rating is specifically for the Yuca frita w the white sauce, and anything with the pink sauce, eaten at 3-4am after a night of drinking. Everything else is a solid 4, like the Colombian hit dogs and the arepas. I'm a fan.

BEST HOTDOG I HAVE EVER EATEN. Just that "Super Perro" is worth the trip to Miami. Why this place doesn't have a line around the block is beyond my understanding. I would die if I lived in Miami because I would eat this regularly.

After attending the Girls Event at the Viceroy hotel, me and my friends Guil M. and Tony P. decided to check this place out. It reminds me lf another Colombian restaurant near me in West Palm called Gordo's, and everything was delicious. TASTES LIKE LA MOON. We got the supermoon perro and an arepa burger and split them. Both were great, but I think I would choose the supermoon perro if I had to choose. I wanted more of it after finishing it. We also got fries and ended up getting a second order because we can't be tamed (or full apparently). They were great too, and the service was great, our waitress in particular was really sweet and attentive. More than I would expect for 12:30 am. Basically it's incredible drunk food (or anytime food, like even after shooting up...probably) which is probably why they decide to stay open all night. I def recommend it if you're in the area and looking for something tasty but not too pricy.

Love la moon generous portions fair prices clean good service. Everytime I am in Miami I make it a point to go to la moon. Love their "ajiacos" on Wednesdays and arepas. It is also open late which is perfect at 2 am on a Saturday night when you are hungry in brickell. I used to go to la moon at their old location and I am happy that they moved to their new more spacious location. Parking is a bit of a hassle but other than that La moon scores high.

This food is amazing! The arepas are absolutely delicious. Its a great spot for lunch or after going out at night. Theres usually a lot of people at night but the service was good. I don't normally like calamaris but you must try the ones here! Really unique sauce and soo good.

Five different sauces on one hot dog???!! Me being crazy with my condiments have to give this hot dog joint five stars. I had the Supermoon Perro, and it was definitely super. I can only make out maybe three of the sauces: ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. The other two is what really makes this hot dog special. I have always added chips into my burgers, but never in a hot dog. The chips in the hot dog gave texture and added more taste on top of the five sauces it already came with. I would have to say that this is the best hot dog I've had. Pink's hot dogs gets one star if I were to compare the two. Now.. to find Colombian hot dogs in California..

Definitely a casual place to hit up if you are roaming about Miami proper (this is in the Brickell area, rather than South Beach). Stopped by a couple weeks ago, when I was down there and bf and I both got burgers. I got the Arepa Burger, while bf got Crazy Chicken Burger (he was being weird and not wanting to indulge in a patty made of red meat that day). My burger was really good, with the potato sticks and 6 sauces really making it unique (though Cuban burgers, a.k.a. la frita, also have potato sticks, for the record). I didn't try bf's sammy, but he liked it enough to down the whole thing. No sides to speak of, but that is okay in my book, as I am really careful about what I eat (can't you tell, since I got a nice, juicy, Arepa Burger with cheese and tons of sauces?). This place is definitely worthy of its 4-star rating and I will just adjoin my review, not adding or subtracting from its standing.

Worst place ever! Food sucks- empanadas are full of potatoes, almost no meat. Chicken is thin as paper. SERVICE & MANAGEMENT ARE THE WORSE. If I could give it zero stars I would. Very overrated.

  • Grant B.

I've given this place several chances over the yeas, but something's always been off - even back when they were across the street next to Infinite AV. The staff has seemed tired or grumpy, my food (even a steak!) was barely above room temperature, and the coffee has never hit the spot - and that part, the coffee, is unforgivable. Do not open a restaurant in Miami if your staff can't make a good cafe con leche, and especially don't bring me a cup of American coffee with a side of milk and sugar!!! (Puede que no hable español pero no soy un gringo). Anyhow - if funky hot dog recipes are your thing, then you might like this place. If you want traditional Colombian food and proper coffee drinks, look elsewhere.

We went here after a friend saw their bit on the food network. So happy we did. The food was very tasty, reasonably priced, came out in a timely manner, and was delicious. The staff is all spanish, so if you don't speak any ask for one that does. They are all very friendly and want you to enjoy your meal. We got the supperpero, the moon burger, and french fries. The burger and the hot dog were both gorgeous and delicious. They had 6 different sauces on it, as well as mashed up potato sticks, so you can't go wrong. The fries were under salted, no big deal, but enough to share between two people. When we asked for the sauces they brought us squeeze bottles and some of them were so good we asked if we could buy some. They were more then accommodating and inexpensive. We had a great meal here.

This place has been open forever. Was suggested to me by my Colombian friend. I dont really eat hotdogs but what they make in Le Moon is AMAZING!!! The sauces are super original and flavorful. I also love their steak swap. It comes with blue cheese. Their empanadas are very nice and I love their soda selection. Must try Quatro Leches! Plus they are open super late!!!

I used to order 3 times on average from this place per week. I liked the service and the food. Now it seems they are outsourcing their delivery service and ever since I just don't feel like calling anymore. They people on the other side of the line don't know the menu and for every question they take one minute at least to answer. It seems they have to call the restaurant to find out simple things like what are the specials.I liked it there because they already knew me and they treated me like a regular... So it felt a little bit like back home. Now when I call I have to listen to somebody selling bulbs to another caller next to the person is taking my order who barely understands what I'm ordering ...... FYI the first time I used the new delivery service my food got 2 hrs after and was not complete ! I hope they go back to the system they had before so I can give them the stars they deserve !

Burgers are amazing and generous in their portions!!! Hot dogs are nothing special... Decent but covered in sauce. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Obvious indoor renovation was done and outside remains simple and like any given patio. Good pricing and will definitely be back for a burger and Columbian beer!

The good food does not complement the terrible customer service. The waitress would disappear for long periods of times and completely forgot when I asked her for more water and napkins... Just a terrible experience!!

  • Kevin L.

The super moon perro was delicious...one of the best hot dogs I've had. I would give this restaurant 4 stars if I could but unfortunately due to the poor service and the deceitful trickery the waitress attempted (pretended that drinks and fries are included with the super moon perro, then later, failing to notify me of a $.10 charge on credit cards of orders under$10 but instead, rudely pointed to a tiny sign nailed on the ceiling), I can only give them maximum of 3 stars. This kind of trickery is very unprofessional and absolutely not how a restaurant should treat their customers.

Prices average around $8. Food is good. Service is good unless you show up past 11pm. Good Colombian ambiance and location. I frequent this establishment but it's always a hit or miss on the server. Either way, food is good that I always come back.

BEST DRUNK EATS EVER! Try the salchipapas with salsa rosada. The burger is a bit too greasy for me. But the arepas are pretty decent and so are the hot dogs. But I wouldn't really go here if you haven't had a few drinks before. Just wouldn't be the same.

Driving to Brickell late at night I always see hoards of people dining inside La Moon and was curious to see what drew so many people. After watching it on Man v. Food there was no question I had to try it out despite the fact I'm not a big hot dog fan. I think everyone can agree that the service here is less than ideal but if that's the price you pay for food this good than I will make the sacrifice. The only big glitch in the experience was when we were ordering the waitress misunderstood my order. While I wanted a stuffed arepa with steak she thought I only wanted it plain. If she would have read our orders aloud I could have clarified but she did all that she could to not stick around the table. While I would've been content with the cheese arepa, steak was calling my name. They changed my order and eventually a piping hot arepa was sitting in front of me. I got a couple sauces on the side just to add a little bit more flavor although the beef was juicy and could stand on it's own. The rest of my party ordered the Supermoon Perro and I knew I needed a bite. It was absolutely delicious and although I have a big vendetta with hot dogs- this tempted me to get over it. Despite the fact I was stuffed and heading towards a greasy food induced coma, I was left wanting to try just about everything on the menu. We all decided that very soon we are going to join the late night crowds to satisfy those munchies that sometimes can't help but come about from too much fun.

The Moon Burger. For real. After a night of drinking at Blackbird Ordinary, you owe it to yourself, your endocrine system, and your designated driver. If you're cabbing it, take the burger to go. But if you're with a group of friends, then hook that DD up! It's a pretty simple burger, but when you dab each bite with that mayo-ketchu, you know it's about to be on. I've had some tremendous burgers in my life. At the top of burger mountain is the "Single" at Hodad's (SD). That burger will never be beat. In-N-Out is the king of the fast food burger. But La Moon Burger is just as good as Tastee Burger (see review). La Moon Burger has placed itself within my top 10. Now I'm going to have to break the list down: Hodad's (SD) Edison Diner (Edison, NJ) Johnny's (Riverside, CA) In-N-Out (CA/AZ/NV) Tommy's (LA) White Manna (Hackensack, NJ) Tastee Burger (Perris, CA) La Moon (Miami) Coach House (North Bergen, NJ) George's (Riverside, CA) Holla...

Dropped in here after our flight into Miami in mid-Juy...and so. glad. we. did. Although our party of 7 (that included a sleeping toddler) was initally worried we wouldn't be able to be seated (it was Saturday during lunch) but luckily they gave s a table in the back....waaaaaaaay back. Unfortunately, that meant our server sort of forgot about us. Although she was nice, we barely saw her. Our party decided on a bunch of dishes to share family style...even if that meant just eating them tapas style. We of course ordered the Supermoon Perro and weren't disappointed. We ordered the churrasco & bandeja paisa. The steaks had us agreeing although good, they weren't great. Our favorite on the bandeja paisa was the fried pork belly...delicious! The kids each got an order of salchipapas and we gobbled up what was left...yum. We ordered an arepa de carne & queso...but at first it was just queso and no carne, so they promptly fried up another one...but left us sad that the queso one got tossed. The fried yucca was great with a yummy sauce to dip it in. All in all, we were so happy we stopped in.

ASK FOR SUPERMOON PERRO IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO EAT IT! I went here for brunch after watching the Man Vs Food, Miami episode where Adam Richman are the Supermoon Perro. DECOR: The decor is simple and this place is located at the corner of the SW8th street. FOOD: We ordered the Calentado De Carne (in simple language it is Steak served with rice and beans, scrambled eggs and corn pan cake). The dish was okay in taste. 1 cup hot chocolate/coffee is complimentary with this. I wanted to eat the Supermoon Perro but did not see it in the menu so I asked the waiter and showed him Adam's photo which was hung on the restaurant's walls. The waiter told me that the Supermoon Perro was always available irrespective of its mention on the menu. On the photo this dish appears very large but in actual it is quite small- may be 15 centimeters long. This dish is a Columbian Hot Dog with a quail egg topping. The Supermoon Perro tastes okay. I could have instead ordered Empanadas. SERVICE: The waiter was polite and the food was served within 20 minutes from the time ordered. PRICE: Our total was $20 (without tips).

Not even for drunk food. This perro shocked me back into sobriety. People, people, people. No. Demand more. Better. For there is better to be had. I know. I had some last night (review forthcoming). This is not good food. I mean, it's possible I was there on an off night but... To begin with, I was tricked... and possibly poisoned. The pink sauce on my dog wasn't so pink. It was more of a pale scarlet/sorta whitish and there was a LOT of it. A LOT. Thinking that it was cheese, it bit down. Hard. The instant revulsion to that mayo/ketchup abomination was more than I can handle. A.) I loathe mayo; B.) The ghosts of every Chicagoan I've ever known came at me in furious anger for being so disrespectful as to ever EVER put ketchup on a hot dog (don't. Don't do it. ever) and; C.) The dog was lukewarm (as was my arepa). How is it possible to order fresh food and have it come out lukewarm? At this point, I was convinced that I was about to contract some sort of food-borne pathogen and I needed vodka (VODKA!!!) stat in order to fill my gullet full of alcohol poison to negate the food poison. It's sort of like swallowing a cat to kill the mouse you ingested. Don't ask me my logic. It was a long night. But for my next long night, trust and believe that La Moon will have nothing to do with it. Ay Dios Mio. Nunca. JAMAS!

I love their cheese arepa! Mainly because it's fried - not deep fried - but crispy enough to be considered fried! And who doesn't like a nice piece of fried food? We also ordered the salchipapas and the regular columbian dog. It was drenched in sauces, and oh-so-good! Prices aren't bad, either. Daleeee!

Let me tell you about my experience at La Moon. So my friend recommended that we go since we were all starving and had wanted to try it for a while now. I ended up ordering the hot dog with the quail egg on top and it tasted pretty great going down. I had no stomach pains at all that night...until the next morning. woke up to cold sweats, high fever, tons of vomiting...the rest you can imagine. I had full blown food poisoning worse than I have ever had. I am not sure what it was, whether it was the hot dog itself or the quail egg but I will never look at hot dogs the same. I couldn't possibly go back to this place after what I had experienced.....

Service was slow (it wasn't busy... 5 tables, three waiters...) they had nothing to stop from the flies being around outside diners.... ive had better hotdogs... i expect better when i go to restaurants in brickell.... its like i was eating dollar hot dogs from the dollar store... not happy.

La Moon is a Colombian restaurant. They have the flavors you find in Colombia from the slow cooked dishes down to the fast food. I'm an American and would highly recommend any American good and try the Crazy Moon Burger and Super Perro. The combination of stuff on there is just something that's amazing. It's far superior than our hot dog experience. Go for it with a cold "Colombiana" soda. Give that a try.... and you'll want to head to Colombia for that times 10!!

I would agree with Richard K that your level of satisfaction from this place is directly correlated with your level of intoxication while visiting late night. If you are sober then this place is a nightmare in all facets. Enormous line of people, lack of English speaking staff, at least a 30 minute wait for food, and absolutely ungodly abominations of hot dog combinations and sauces. However, stumble into here loaded after picking up cougars at Blue Martini then your outlook changes significantly.... Hot, drunk Colombian chicks as far as they eyes can see, beer served to continue the party, and delightful combinations of food that absolutely rock the palate. -" Quail egg, bacon, sausage, sweet sauce? Why hasn't this place been nominated for a Michelin star??!!" Anyway my level of intoxication was not very high. Buzzed enough so that i stopped by here, but not drunk enough to fall into La Moon euphoria. I would highly suggest coming here after a night of hard partying. If you are sober, then it's either time to man up and do some shots or just go the F home and don't mess up your diet.

I have not been here since they moved to the new place, and I went there today with 4 coworkers. It was horrible I ordered the grilled chicken breast with red beans and rice it was awful. .. no seasoning in the beans rice, nor chicken breast. I will never go back

If you are craving a hotdog, this will satisfy! It might be a little hard for you to order the meal if you can't speak Spanish, but that is typical in Miami. La comida de la calle es muy bueno!

i always called to place an order for pick up and always have problems because they dont like to add extra sauces, like pineapple, pink sauce. or they add you an extra money for the sauce, recommend to eat inside because calling for a pick up its very bad service.

They are now open for breakfast at 9am. Excellent special for $3.99; eggs, ham or bacon, arepa with fresh cheese and coffee. Service is good.

I am 'over the moon' for La Moon. Oh, how I will miss you when I move away from the Brickell area in a month. Whether you are a tourist or local reading this review, believe me when I say that YOU MUST GO HERE. I don't care if you go here for lunch or a late night snack after partying at Mary Brickell Village. Just do it. You will thank me later. I originally heard about La Moon from Man vs. Food. I never watch this show and just happened to be clicking through channels when I saw that they were featuring some Miami spots on the show. Of course when I saw that magical monstrosity that is a Super Moon Perro, I knew I had to try one. Since seeing show a few months back, La Moon moved their location to the spot that used to be Transit Lounge's Boiler House. I was so happy when they moved closer to where I work - well within walking distance to Brickell Ave. Over the last few months, I've been to La Moon countless times. Each time is better than the last. I've tried it all, the fungi pasta (chicken alfredo with mushrooms), the salchipapas (hot dogs and fries doused with some awesome sauce), the arepa burgers, the salads, the soups and yes, even the Super Moon Perro. Honestly, I still don't even know what is on this hot dog. Definitely some ketchup, mustard, mayo, pineapple, cheese, a quail egg all nestled on soft hot dog bun. Please trust me and just order it. You will love it. The service is great. They have outdoor seating. The prices are very reasonable. They have great daily lunch specials. I can't find one negative thing to say. Despite moving away from the area for work, I will be more than glad to make the trip to visit La Moon as much as I can in the future. They wouldn't be able to keep me away with brut force!

Amongst my circle of friends, I'm known as a hot dog enthusiast. No wonder then, when La Moon's popularity spread to the front page of the Herald last year, at least three of my friends were certain to tell me of it. Of course, I had already read and salivated onto paper long before their suggestion for me to try it, but like many restaurants I'm excited to try, I soon forgot about it. But alas, it wasn't until about three bites in of my Supermoon Perro that the light bulb in my head went off that I realized that this was the place I'd been reading about for so long. Regardless of whether or not I had read the rave reviews, I'd be giving this place high marks after trying the Supermoon Perro and the Crazy Moon Arepa burger (ham, egg, bacon, mozzarella and corn pancake). I'd never had Colombian food before, but if this is how it is elsewhere, I think I'm a huge fan! I will admit, however, after such a great meal, I was sure the dessert would be to die for. While I think the bakery that is connected probably had some great options, the dessert I opted for was pretty disappointing and clearly not made there based off of the plastic container it came in (photos posted). The restaurant is small, and like all places in the city of Miami, parking can be an issue. The street it is on does have a lot of meters however (as long as they're working) and there's a strip mall that is within walking distance if you're willing to risk the chance of illegal parking (if you're trying the Supermoon Perro for the first time, I'd say it's worth the risk). While this was the perfect spot for my Sunday lunch, I also think that the late hours they're open would be ideal for those people who go out regularly in Brickell; I know I'd be down for a drunk hot dog with all the fixin's on occasion!

Ok. Food gets 5 stars. service gets 1. average is 3. There. I had the Colombian hot dog (Hot dog with crumpled potato chips and 5 sauces topped). amazing! the 5 sauces hit your tongue in a harmonious syncopation of flavors and textures. The crumpled chips. mm mm mm!! I'm actually drooling as I type this. I want another. I also had the salchiperros (diced hot dog and fries with 5 sauces). It was freakin yummy. Hot dogs and french fries. who'da thunk. What really sucked was how bad our service was. I understand it was 330AM and everyone is pissed drunk. But we weren't rude or rambunctious or obnoxious. We were tame, easy and super cool.. There's no reason to treat us badly. Our food took over 45 minutes to get. And they didn't bring us our drinks. A server female asked if she can take our ketchup. And when we said no, we're about to use it... she took it anyways. And snatched it from my friend's hand. It was shocking! we were about to walk out... but then our food came. At the end, when paying our bill... they had a gratuity included. Of course they treat you like shit they are getting a tip anyways... we refused to pay it because we received such bad service. we still left a tip of about 12% or so... but we weren't going to leave 18%. that's nuts... Who would want to pay to get treated like... a hot dog?

I was on my way to Tobacco Road and spotted this place. La Moon... where had I heard that name before. In from out of town... I was lured in. Ok... there it is... a big fatass sign advertising their man v food lineage. Damn I'm a sucker. I ordered it.. the superperro. It's skimpy hot dog, on a crappy bun, with fried crispy onions, bacon, and topped with numerous condiments. Oh yeah... and a quail egg. You could make this thing at home sans the quail egg. And the quail egg is hard boiled. I was expeciting the soft yolk. No luck. Belly full, I left uninspired and headed down the road. WTF... there's another La Moon less than a quarter block away. Confused.

Man oh man, where to begin? Went here last night for a late night bite after visiting Blackbird Ordinary close by. This place was absolutely outstanding! I ordered the Supermoon Perro, which is a smoked sausage that comes with bacon and a quail egg with loads of sauce on top. This was one of the best things that I have ever eaten! I don't know if it was the alcohol helping matters, but I would love to come back here and give it another try! The other people in my party ordered the Crazy Moon Arepa Burger, which came with ham, egg, bacon and mozzarella on a corn pancake. This was another thing that was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for a late night bite or just a great bite of food in general! I look forward to coming back sometime soon!

I did called for a take-out order and the woman was very friendly and spoke perfect English - not sure what the other reviewer was talking about saying they only speak Spanish. The order was ready in about 15 minutes. As everyone else mentions, the Supermoon Pero is phenomenal. 3 kinds of pork products? Get outta here! We also tried the Crazy Moon Arepa Burger, which is great, but I think white arepas are pretty flavorless, so would go for the normal burger instead. The Mazorca Desgranada was our least favorite item, but we can't put our finger on why. The shredded lettuce on the bottom gets kind of gross with hot corn/cheese on top of it, so would skip that next time. However, the hot dog and burger were excellent and an unexpected delight.

Plain and simple GOOD FOOD BAD SERVICE Ive gone to this rest at lunch time, dinner time, after hours and its a 24/7 mess. I think its because the owner is to cheap to hire more waiters and buss boys.

I found this place because of Man VS. Food. That Super Moon Perro looked so damn good and I found out that his place was just a few blocks away from my house! How freakin' awesome! Honestly, I haven't been here in like 3-4 months. First time I went was at the old, smaller location and I've only been to the new one a couple of times. Reason being the amount of food I get for the price. The steak is good but I can get a bigger portion somewhere else for the same price, if not cheaper. The Super Moon Perro was delicious the first time. After I found out that I'm paying $6.50 for a hot dog with quail egg, sausage, and special sauces, that's when I changed my mind about this place. The pinchos were also served differently from what I'm accustomed to. The service, on the other hand, didn't disappoint me. One of these days, I'll definitely give it another try since it's on the same block as my job.

It is SOOOO difficult to park and get into here that I had to knock off a star just for this reason. We got an arepa, the supermoon hot dog, and the supermoon burger. They were pretty good, but the indigestion afterwards sucked! Too much grease. The prices seemed high for what you got and it definitely was not worth the trip from Hollywood.

The food was AMAZING! Only problem.... None of the workers spoke English. It was very fragmented. I ordered chocolate milk and they have me a chocolate protein drink. And when I ordered the waitress said something about tomato and lettuce so I said yes and I guess she asked if I wanted all of the toppings and when I took a bite of my sandwich there was a fried egg on it.... Gross

Perfect!!!I La Moon is not your best Colombian food, but it is your best 3am food. The empanadas de carne and perros are very tasty for fast food. This place is always busy after 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays. My complains are the service is a little messy and the parking is crazy bad. Despite this I always come back for more.

Ok. SO I am writing about delivery. I've ordered food from La Moon 3 times. Mainly because I am in love with the Arepa Burger. La moon is around the corner from me but the food takes FOREVER to be delivered (Waited 1 hr 45 min). Also, ordering is a very frustrating experience because the delivery man does not speak english and usually neither does the woman who you order from on the phone. Luckily I speak spanish. However this does not help. The ordering process is just as confusing for them in spanish. Knowing all of these issues I still order from them because the food is sinfully goos but I make sure I order from them rarely. Last night my roommate and I ordered an arepa burger and a moon burger. Despite repeating my order several times to the woman on the phone in 2 different languages she still got it wrong. Of course we did not discover this until an hour and 45 min later when our food was delivered. SO I called the restaurant. Told them I could not eat the super arepa burger because I do not eat pork (never said super in my entire phone call- not from Miami so not a word I frequently use.) 2 hours later I got my sandwhich (so much for my roommate and I eating dinner together.) However the manager sent along a cuatros leches cake cup as an I am sorry which was very sweet. I meant the apology but the cake was also sweet. If you want greasy, flavorful food there is no better place. But you are better off going to the actual restaurant. Ordering food from them is a frustrating experience.

Somehow ended up here during our visit to Miami. What a lucky accident. I wanted to fork someone because the food took fricken forever to come. Service was really bad though...our waitress was really moody and she made me kinda uncomfortable. I thought the restaurant's appearance on Man vs. Food would just be hype and would make the place a bit overrated. Hell no, it was actually damn good. My friend boldly ordered the SuperMoon Perro (the token La Moon hotdogs)...then all of us decided to jump on the bandwagon. It was sausage, bacon, quail egg, and tons of awesome sauces topped on a massive hotdog. DAMN WAS IT DELICIOUS. I think the best approach would be to place an order, get a drink at the bar next door, and come back and eat if you don't wanna wait a million years. The food was well worth the wait.

I went here last night for a friend's birthday, and I can honestly say that I like the new location. There is no free parking lot, but there is a ton more street parking, so that means easier access to Columbian food at the middle of the night. And although I really enjoyed the food, the ambience could have been better. Positives: - My food was warm and delicious. - The service was exceptionally quick. - Their portions are huge. Even Better Ifs: - The atmosphere seemed a little bit dreary-- but what can you expect from a Downtown diner at the middle of the night. - When I asked for more pink sauce, they practically gave my friend and me an empty bottle. I would highly recommend this place if you are craving something delicious in the middle of the night but just the fact that you have to always pay for parking is a negative for me when other restaurants like Los Perros always have free parking to satisfy my Columbia hot dog needs. However, their parking situation has gotten better if you are familiar with their previous location,

I dropped in for a late night snack and ordered the La Moon Burger. It was a deal but when the Burger was delivered in an aluminum foil, I was so hungry I missed the green plastic toothpick. When I bit into my burger, yikes, I hit plastic.

I must admit, service was pretty crappy. When we first walked in, we didn't know if to wait to be seated or just seat ourselves. Word of advice: SEAT YOURSELF. Because no one will tell you. The servers will look at you waiting by the door like you're crazy and walk on by. I thought that was quite odd. Isn't the normal thing to do is let people know to "seat themselves"... give me a sign at least... SOMETHING. When we finally sat [out of our own initiative], we were greeted by a very nice waitress. She took great interest in our little companion. And no, I'm not talking about a gnome. I mean, Anne's little cousin-- a delightful 3 year old that likes to eat fingers. She even gave him candy before we left, I thought that was really sweet. The food was fantastic. I tried the Perro Colombiano and the Moon Burger. Both were good but the hotdog stood out the most. SO mouthwateringly delicious. The restaurant is tiny, during lunch on a weekday it was packed, and service was slow. I think it needs a little improvement on the management side but on the food side, they pretty much nailed it.

We stumbled on the place after walking through Little Havana. And let me say first that if a restaurant has been on TV, the chances that I will be eating there drop to almost nil. But we had been walking and I wanted an iced tea so we stopped in for a tea to go. But as we stood there waiting for the tea, we kept seeing plate after plate come out of the kitchen and they all looked tremendous! So we stayed for lunch. Many tables were ordering some kind of pasta dish which looked fantastic! The regulars knew to order this. Our table had a salad, pinchos, and a hot dog. All excellent! Salad was properly dressed. Pinchos were from a good quality of meat. Hot dog is still mentioned as a highlight of the visit to Miami Beach. The table sauce is out of thismworld, too. I find it funny that this place is categorized as fast food. Our service was spotty, with drinks going unfilled, and more recent tables getting their food served to them long before ours came out. You can start to feel like only regulars get taken care of there. But, quality was quite good and the price was completely reasonable.

I love chicken marsala and have been ordering takeout from some Italian restaurants in the area. The flavor hasn't really tasted like chicken marsala though, so I decided to try it from La Moon. I was unsure how it would come out but I decided to try it out. The delivery was really quick. I ordered it and 20 minutes later it arrived both times. I was really surprised at the flavor. It comes with linguine and a piece of garlic bread. The entire meal was superb. I am extremely picky and normally do not enjoy takeout because food generally becomes soggy and not as flavorful when it arrives but La Moon's food via delivery was excellent! I will definitely be ordering from here on a regular basis and checking out the actual restaurant. Definitely order the chicken marsala!! MMMM

Amazing hot dog! Best ever...bar none.....it's called the Super Moon Perro, with incredibly tasty toppings of sausage, bacon, quail egg, and the you-can't-get-enough 5 sauce to top it all! The ingredient of the 5 sauce is mayo, mustard, ketchup, pineapple, and secret pink sauce. All for less than $7 Mango juice fresh squeezed is very good too, gotta have it! No artificially added stuff...$3 Also tried the beef empanada, a tasty and hearty $1.35 treat, different from the argentinian style, this one has a crispy corn outer shell instead...hit the spot! I wish they have something like this where I live, and by the way they open until 6am!

I meet a few friends here one night on my little vacation. My friend loves this place and I'm glad he wanted to eat here that night. I remember this being on MvsF but totally forgot about it. The Super Perro is what he always orders and also the Aprea Carne y Queso. He thought I would have loved the super perro but honestly I loved the Aprea Carne y Queso more. But I'm glad I tasted both of them. My other friend told me I had to try a drink, something different. Not the usual soda but Colombian soda. I forgot which soda I got but to me it was no different than a cream soda. The parking is street parking unless there is room next door to get some kind of parking in the lot. I really don't know if it belongs to them but all I know is I paid a guy who was there. But just a tip. Which he reminded me that he works for tips. OK homie I know.. The service was S.......L......O......W. It took them awhile to get to use and even come back when we needed some water. They don't speak great English but thank goodness my friend knew a little. It's a small place but you can also sit outside and eat. If I return to Miami I will mos def come back and get me a Aprea Carne y Queso.

I visited La Moon for lunch. Our server was very sweet and explained the difference between the Perro Colombiano and the Supermoon Perro, despite her less than perfect English. Remember, Miami is a northern colony of South America. I opted for the Supermoon Perro, which I found to be surprisingly much lighter than expected, considering the large portion size. The sweet sauces complemented the salty meats very well. We also ordered some empanadas de carne as an appetizer. The empanadas were flavorful, warm, good sized, and not greasy. However, I was surprised that the empanadas were served with a side of salsa, rather than a side of chimichurri. I've never seen that in Bogota. I also drank an Aguilla cerveza, which was good. I'm not sure why, but I can't find Club Colombia cerveza in the US. I thought for sure that I would find it in Miami. The interior was clean and comfortable. I will return when I visit Miami in the future.

I've tried Colombian food in at least 5 different places all across Miami, and when its good, there is nothing better. However, when the hype of Food Network, and late-night bar crawlers build its name higher than what it is; your in for a dissapointment. We sat there patiently for about 10 minutes before a waitress recognized we were there. Mind you, they are all walking around with an empty gaze on there face & the IQ of a doorknob; pretty lethal for business I might add. Anyways, when we finally ordered from that RUDE WAITRESS: ELIZABETH HOYOS (Your damn right I checked my receipt) , she said it was a 15-18 minute wait for our hot dog?!? Almost daring us to leave. Still, we decided to stay because we were starving. I would have preferred leftover McDonalds, seriously. Not only was it nothing out of this world, it actually tasted like a leftover mess on a bread. To top it off, I decide I would like more pineapple sauce to cover the disgust of what they call a "supermoon perro". I walk up to my waitress, she makes eye contact with me, ROLLS HER EYES, and continues talking to another waitress about most likely nothing important. Another guy had to bring me my sauce, and my check. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to serve tables and provide pleasant service, but I guess incompetence can be an issue when it comes to properly running a restaurant. If I were a business owner, I would never want someone in my restaurant exposing a negative image of my product to consumers. The only reason it gets a second star is because I saw the delivery guy busting his ass back and forth, in and out. And that, deserves credit. It might be a good idea for delivery, perhaps..somewhat. Yet, only if they can wait at my front door for 20 minutes for me to acknowledge them: a piece of their own pie...or should we say torta?

La Moon moves to 3.5 stars. I recently went at 3am, not exactly sober and very hungry and I understand the greasy appeal of La Moon. The overloaded hot dogs, burgers, beef kebab and empanadas do have their role at 3am post-bar/club/what-have-you. So there, its not all crap here but definitely a post-party restaurant and not more. And the customer service...lets just say it still doesn't exist.

I've been to this restaurant several times, both during lunch time to have a Colombian home-made lunch, and also at night after going out for the amazing hot dogs full of different sauces (ketchup, pink sauce, pineapple sauce, garlic sauce, etc), the burgers or the arepas. The food is always good, it is not a 5-star restaurant to expect gourmet food, but it is a casual place that serves good food. The service is ok, due to the fact that the place is always busy, especially during lunch and late at night.

This place is awesome!! It's famous for their superperro, and monstrous, crazy burgers that come with everything but the kitchen sink. However, all their menu items are pretty good. The shrimp Creole is amazing, its really spicy and if you're not in the mood for junkfood, its a great option. If you are in the mood for junkfood, however, which is mainly why there is always a crowd here, you have to try the SUPERMALLORCA. I ordered not knowing what the heck to expect. Its this crazy concoction of everything yummy, corn, shredded lettuce, mozerella, pik nik fries, special sauce, etc... Just give it a go, you won't regret it.

Where do you go for some food at 4am? Denny's? Taco Bell? 7-11? Sure thing if you have not heard of La Moon. Nestled on that lil corner that we have all passed my a million times lies this lil oasis of food for the night owls. Honestly i have never been here during the day only after a night out. Do not come here trying to be healthy. not for one second. The menu is lined with hot dogs, hamburgers and fried foods. So your stomach should be ready to dig in. I had the salchipapas and they were great. Those in our group had a mix of the menu and all had nothing bad to say. Good portions and full tummies were all on hand. I will say this...be ready to deal with a good mix of clientel from the douchebags club kids to some snooty rich boys to the locals which are out for a chill night. That aside swing by here after a night of drinkin and dancing to wind the night down and you will be happy. Just hit the gym for and an extra hour the next day.

Colombian-style foods at almost all times of the day. I've eaten here for breakfast, dinner, late night munchies, pretty much anytime of day. The signature dish is their hot dog that comes with a bunch of different sauces, potato sticks and a tiny egg... It's really good - even for a person who does not eat hot dogs like myself. My favorite plates here are the cheeseburger that comes with similar condiments to the hot dog and the Colombian breakfast platter that comes with eggs, chorizo and arepas. Just right! The service is quick and the restaurant is casual. It can be packed almost all day but is definitely packed late nights on the weekends.

Pretty good for the late night munchies.. Fair prices but above average wait times even when not crowded. Mediocre service at best. However be aware that it says "No Tip Included" at the top of the receipt but there's definitely tip included and then suggested tip at the bottom - pretty duplicitous if you ask me!

Love the Moon burger!! Best empanadas I've had in a fast food Colombian place in Miami...just the right size and generous filling of meat or chicken. Always have to ask for extra napkins though..... why can't you just give me some in the beginning???

Today, I visited Heaven and this is what it looked like: -French fries AND hot dogs. On the same plate. Together. With ketchup/mayo sauce. Did I mention they were together? -Super Perro: TWO (?!@#@!#@)) hot dogs, with cheese in the middle, surrounded by crushed potato chips, 5 different sauces and a quail egg on top all stuffed together in one delicious, fluffy bun. Ya know, for good measure. -Dulce de leche cookies. La Moon, if this is Heaven than I promise, I'm gonna be a good girl!

The pinchos are still good here (not salty), it is not very seasoned either which is fine by me. The pepito was a little disappointing - they used something similar to Philly cheesesteak meat and I'm not a fan of that - but it was okay because it had the added Colombian twist. Friends of mine raved about their crazymoon hotdogs. My new late-night favorite is now the crazymoon arepa (different from the arepa burger, but is still a burger but with a lot more things). It was a crispy arepa stuffed with hamburger meat and the usual Colombian burger filling: ham, cheese, papitas (shoestring fries), egg, and the famous mix of a wide variety of sauces! I even liked it more than the burger here. I wasn't so hungry but I could eat all of that monster, just because it was... delicious. Delicious, simply delicious. The salchicriollas is also good - sausage with classic Colombian salted small yellow potatoes.

Dear La Moon, I know. It's been a while. Sorry I never called. I met someone. But I missed you so much I had to come back for more. So I brought my friend. I satisfied my craving for your meat. My friend ate a cute little empanada. We shared a tasty arepa. Then we fell asleep. Thanks for another great night. Call us. (Oh. and you are a lot less crowded before midnight. So noted.)

I've been eager to put this to the test. Everyone writes how good the food and experience was here and I agree. Then I started thinking OK is the food just completely reliable or does my intoxicated "state" persuade me to creep in here like a nocturnal animal ready to engorge in my feast and determine my love for this joint? So what should I do? I will order delivery, at a decent hour, completely and 100% free of anything that would steer my opinion on the reliability and tastefulness of the food. Monday night - 9:00PM - I called for delivery. Great service over the phone! Delivery time turned out to be impressive. And the food, just as good as it is at 3:00am after a long night of dancing. Nothing was soggy, the order was correct, and it tasted GREAT!! I was so pleased that I ordered DELIVERY again the following night. Tuesday night - 9:30PM - They were a bit busier and I was put on hold, no big deal, I held. The service again was very friendly, welcoming, and warm. Delivery time was not as good as Monday, humph, we can't always have it all. The food again was GREAT! It's really hard when you order in because rarely does food taste as good or fresh when it's been transported in plastic or Styrofoam. I will never hesitate to order in from here!!!!

If u want mediocre food, poor service, and only part of your order go on down to La Moon. Located in a not so nice part of town u would think they would mk up for their curb appeal with some good Colombian food. Not only was the food room temperature, the waiter not only forgot about our salad and probably about us all together. It took a good hour to flag someone down to ask for the check and the place was empty. I definately wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Hit up Los Perros instead if u want a good fast food style Colombian fix.

Upon reading my friend Goldie's review of this place, I made a mental note to make it out to this place sometime soon. Sometime soon, ended up being this past Saturday at 4AM with Jenaia F, the bride-to-be, and another one of our friends! We had been at Transit Lounge and after being at a bridal shower and having sangria, popping bottles of champagne to celebrate my best friend's new house at her house, and several Tuchers and other beers at Transit, it was DEFINITELY time for some food in our systems. I used my Blackberry Yelp app and found the address to La Moon and we made our way over. What a scene! It was like a mini-club in this place at this time! House music was splaying, people were dressed up and some even passed out on their tables, and images of the food were flashing on the TV screens. After almost fighting with some girls that deliberately cut in front of us in line, we finally got our table (right next to the girls that cut us off course I had to glare at them and exchange a few more choice words when we sat next to them. Lol) and placed our order. I was dying to try the dog with the quail egg on top, but my friends advised me not to try that after the night we had had...juuuust in case. LOL. I ended up going with the regular Colombian Perro which ended up being a complete party in my mouth! How delicious!!! The mixture of savory and sweet and the crunch from the lil fries/chips put of top was awesome! The fries, on the other hand, were more like a funeral in my mouth...not good at all. I am interested in going back to this place at a regular/decent hour and seeing if I still think the food is as good as it was at 4AM and especially to try the Super Perro! Stay tuned for the update ;)

I ended up at La Moon twice this weekend. Once at 4:00 am after about a dozen drinks (maybe more, now that I think about it). The second time during the day when I swore to my husband that I have had the best hot dog in the world and we simply must drive half an hour to experience it again. Having had their Colombian perros twice and in two completely different states, I still give this place 4 stars. Their dogs are delicious! Can't wait to try some of their other menu items.

Stopped by after seeing this place featured on Man Vs Food from the Super Bowl. I wanted to try the SuperMoon Perro. I was impressed to say the least. It was the best tasting hot dog Ive ever had. Was skeptical about the various sauces, however they all played well together to form this unique taste. Add in the cheese, bacon, etc and it was mouthwatering. I would also recommend the fried pork belly as an appetizer!

Alright, I don't get it. I went to a place called La Moon with the exact same emblem in the exact same location with the exact same store front. But look as a could I did not find a Super Perro or anything vaguely related to burgers and hot dogs. Instead this seemed like a nice hole-in-the-wall Latin sit-down restaurant. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was wrapped in tortilla and was excellent, fries were pretty good too.

It's a hole in the wall, and parking is a nightmare. But service and the food rocked!! I found this place watching Man Vs Food and glad I went.

This is my first time coming to this restaurant's location and me and my friends' did not get the best first-impression. Once our party was seated, we had to struggle for almost two hours to get our food (3 hot dogs, a few waters and beers) Does it really take one hour and forty-five minutes to bring over three hot dogs? My friends and I didn't even get water until right before our food was served. The only reason we even got our drinks was because the busboy, Sandy, brought them our way. He was great-very friendly and efficient with his job from what I observed, despite the dinner rush. Now, if our server was nice and had addressed the delay and been trying her best to get to us, I wouldn't even be writing this review. She was not friendly at all, so as a result, the gentleman treating did not want to leave a tip, which was already included in the check. She refused to take it off of the check and told us she had done her job to bring us our food. Not nice at all! I mean, maybe she was having a bad day. (who knows what was going on in her life at THAT specific moment and day in her life) I sympathize with others, really, but she was almost scary she was that mean. I will be going to Los Perros from now on. Sorry! Best of luck.

I have gone to this place a couple of times for lunch. Very good empanadas, bandeja paisa, alfredo pasta with mushrooms is delicious and the perros are huge. the downside is service is extremely slow.....parking is a complete nightmare because there is none available. The food is worth it, but if you go during lunch.. you will not make it in and out in one hour. It is worth it to be late sometimes though....I definately recommend it.

When rating on Yelp, I try to rate on the entire experience. In this case, not only do I enjoy watching Man v. Food, I also happened to be in Miami. Adam Rich reported on the Super Perro at La Moon, so I thought I'd try it. I went on a Saturday, 11:30 AM to be exact. The restaurant is a little difficult to find if you don't know the Miami area. Parking, even on a Saturday, is difficult at best. Take change for the meter! There was confusion as to whether or not it was breakfast or lunch. I was one of two customers in the place and it took a few minutes to get an answer as to what meal was being served. Anyhow, got the menu, ordered the Super Perro. But it took forever - probably 20 minutes and I now one of three tables occupied. While the waitresses were very nice, and talkative, they were simply in no hurry. Neither was the cook apparently. The Super Perro was very good, and worth the wait. It is a unique combination of flavors. By the time I left, the place was filling up. It is obviously popular. My guess is that most customers were locals as they seemed to be familiar with the waitresses. So, while the Super Perro was a very good food experience, parking and service were average at best.

so, i have mixed feelings about la moon. i read the reviews of the much touted super perro and decided that's what i had to get. coming from a town where it's sacrilege to put ketchup on a dog, i was tempted to order mine without the red stuff, but i refrained. i figured they designed it that way for a reason. that said, that dog had a LOT goin' on. you've got your dog, then you've got some bacon, cheese, mayo-y stuffs, ketchup, a quail egg and shoestring taters. phew... that's a mouthful! it was huge, it was artery clogging and it was a little bit confusing. i liked the mix of textures; the crunch of the bacon and the shoestrings with the smoosh of the bun, etc. surprisingly, the flavors all held their own, i just think i prefer a less complex dog. i think if i lived in the area this might be a late night, drunken hot spot.

If its late at night and you are starving, and you don't mind dealing with 50 "drunk-types," then swing by this spot and get a Colombian hotdog. Its walking distance from my house so I've made the trip several times. Its a late-night freakshow but trust me, the dogs are worth it.

This Columbian Gourmet fast food location has great food. Open late, easy to find, ample parking in the front; these reasons make it difficult to turn down La Moon. With renovations finished there's much more seating inside and out, only thing they forgot was to hire more servers because placing an in here is difficult. Before you would sit down and a server would take your order, now your seated and confronted with people in a line at the front counter along with a second counter that can take orders as well. But if you sit down it takes a minimum of half an hour to have someone come by and ask you what you would like. I would like to see more order in this place. But the food is always good and they deliver, they had better their control of their market is practically 100% with no other late night gourmet food in the area.

Just eat here! The food is soooo good. Sure the service isn't perfect, or it's hard to find parking at certain times (trick: if needed park at the Mary Brickell village Publix parking garage around the corner, eat at la Moon, buy something you need at Publix on the way back, and your parking is free), but wow is it totally worth coming here for great Colombian food. It's open until super late, and I can never get enough of the Colombian Hot Dogs, or the Pepitos. Also, I always order the Papas Criollas, which are super tasty little round fried potatoes with a side of Colombian pink sauce to dip them in. You just can't go wrong by eating here.

Disgusting. I didnt really mind the slow service, nor even that our hot dogs came out cold the first time...but when we got food, it was so gross and covered in slop that everyone in my party left most food uneaten. Second time I tried this place, I wont go back. Food is unedible. First time got some tough beef that tasted like shoe leather. Full late nights after drinkers come out wanting food..but this place really dissapointed me.

tried this place for the first time last night. had a superperro (super dog for you non-spanish speaking folk). Basically it was the craziest hot dog I have ever witnessed. EVER. Its 3/4 the length of a footlong hotdog, comes covered in mayo, ketchup, mustard, bacon, cheese, picnic fries, and a QUAIL EGG. yeah a quail egg. overall the thing tastes amazing, once you get past the fact you've got like 5 layers of greasyness combined into one delicious item. the service is a bit slow, so order your burger or superperro or arepas right when the server comes, and maybe wash it down with a colombian soda. i'll definitely go here again if i am at transit lounge or another nearby bar.

If your one of those people who need constant service and attention. DO NOT COME HERE... If your like me, where the end result (the FOOD) is all that matters, take a seat. This place makes up for its COMPLETE lack of service (worst service EVER) by serving the most DELICOUS Super moon Perros in the world! Whats a super moon perro you ask? Well its a hot dog covered in Bacon, Cheese, Small frenchfries, sauces and a quail egg to top it off! Its an amazinnnggg food experience from start to finish and its HUGE! Great for late night munchies with friends! GO!

La Moon isn't very large, stays busy and we were a bit concerned about seating when we first arrived (I was here on a Friday night with 8 other Yelpers), but the staff was quick to put a few tables together for us and we were seated within a few minutes. As far as the menu..If you want to try the the Columbian cuisine they're known for, there are plenty of options. If you want to stick to something "safer" and more American fare such as burgers, cheese sticks and some chicken dishes, they have it too. All 9 of us were completely satisfied with everything we ordered and one person commented that the blood sausage was the best he'd ever had, both of which say something about this place. I had 2 beers, the Supermoon Perro and a bit of an appetizer that a few of us shared, and $20 more than covered it. Service was a bit slow as I've seen other reviewers comment on, but as mentioned we were a party of 9, the place was full the entire time we were here and several people came in for takeout while we were here as well.

Went here again the other night, and again, I was sober. And again, I did not care for the atmosphere. The service was very slow too. I'll give it another shot! Maybe not later than 10 PM!

OK, lets talk about this hotdog situation. Anywhere that incorporates fried hotdogs into their fries is my kind of place! Not to mention that the hotdogs themselves were a sight to be seen! The burgers were HUGE, and the rest of the plates of food were nothing short of fantastic. I was ravenously hungry by the time we got there and would have ate from everyones plates if they had let me. And ITS CHEAP! The servers got all 9 of us in, which was amazing cause the place was packed, and they were very friendly. Clearly I need to brush up on my spanish cause the (almost) the whole menu is in spanish, but thanks to JoseLuis, I got a huge platter of food to share with him. THANK YOU!

Let's just say this: after trying the Supermoon Arepa last night, stuffed with chicken, pork and beef (dio mio!) my other half and I made a slew of arepas today for a party tonight. This place is inspiring! 9 of us were out and buzzed and hungry. Magic was worked, we were seated and served. I ate the Friday special sancocho (hen and potato soup). It was fantastic, came with rice and yuca which had to be added to the broth along with the incredible salsa that comes on the table. MM MM MmM delizioso! Other dishes included: Supermoon Hotdog: boiled and fried hotdogs stacked in a 12 inch bun loaded with mayo, ketsup, and mustard, bacon, hardboiled eggs...you need at least 4 napkins to still be socially acceptable after a dirty bite from this guy! The Supermoon Arepa is messy and hot. Rather difficult to enjoy a full bite in your mouth, it's more a fork and knife sorta thing which is against the idea of an arepa...I'd prefer to have a less stuffed one. Prices are excellent. Service, though slow, quite possibly due to the fact that there were 9 of us in a very packed place at 9pm on a Friday night, was good. I look forward to munchin here before or after a Transit night in the future. My other half has wanted to eat here for years and his appetite was finally satisfied, and we both still want more!

La Moon is great after a night out but it only gets 3 stars because it always takes forever to get your meal anytime after midnight. Also, the super perro and the mazorca are not as good as the one in Mao.

The service was extremely slow, one of my friends had to get back to work... The food? Steaks ordered medium rare came out cold, hard, and unappetizing. Maybe because it took so long for the one waitress to serve it? Anyway I'd give it another shot avoid any meat dishes next time.

Sweet baby Jesus, a friend of mine had been raving about this place for weeks and on a rainy Friday after we finally hit it up (we almost got ran over by cars on 8th Street, but that is a WHOLE another story). All I can say is what a delicious hot mess. I got the La Moon Burger and it was honestly the BEST burger I had ever consumed, cheap too! Def. will be going back.

I was skeptical the first time I darkened the door of La Moon with a friend of mine. We got there mid-way through a Sunday afternoon and we had the place to ourselves. I always take an empty restaurant dining room as a bad sign. I've since learned that La Moon gets busy much (much) later. The menu, as I recall, doesn't contain much for a dieter ... or a vegetarian. Goody for me ... cuz I'm neither! I had the "mountain plate" which had steak, fried pork, sausage, corn cake, plantains, beans, and rice with an egg on top. Delicious and didn't break the bank, either! When going to La Moon, take someone that can carry a conversation or something to read as service seems slow (I've been there at different times of day ... service doesn't change). One other 'druther I have is that they carry fresh-made desserts (I ordered a tres leches ... shoulda just picked one up @ Publix ... same thing), Everything else on the menu is so tasty it hurts to not have an equally fresh and flavorful dessert. Nonetheless, I like La Moon and will be back ... soon.

My wife recommended this place because she is Colombian. I guess you can a connoisseur. She knows what is good and what isn't. We were very happy with the food. She had a Colombian burger and I had what's called una bandeja paisa. (she is from Medellin). Food was good, served promptly and the waitress was extremely nice. Definitely a place I would visit again, especially after those late night escapades or after watching a Heat game at the AAA.

I was driving in downtown miami looking for somethin to eat and came across La Moon. My friends who are from miami said its a good place and what sold me was the Man vs. Food banner lol. Walked in the waitress was friendly and got us to our seat pretty fast. Everyone said the Perros colombiano is the best but i was feeling the sancocho and i have to say i made a very good choice. It was a lot for a small size and the taste was better than what i expected, wasnt too salty nor it felt like it had too much msg and they did a good job in blending the ingredients of platanos, yuca, chicken, yautia, potatoes, and veggies. I also tried the perros colombiano (colombian hotdogs) and definitely had an interesting taste, grill hotdog with 3 diffrent sauce and some bacon or chips not sure but somthing was crunchy lol but it taste good. I top it off with a maracuya shake (passion fruit) a must try too as its prepared fresh. Next time I'm in town again from nyc i will be hitting this spot to try other things in the menu.

We ate here for lunch on a Wednesday and there wasn't a wait. The service was great, and my coworker and I both ordered the Super Moon Perro. It was AWESOME! There are so many flavors that you taste when you eat it that you can't even describe. I was a little nervous about the quail egg on top, but it was great too! I would highly recommend that you go here if you are around downtown Miami!

I am so happy that I live walking distance from a place that I could give 6 stars to, if it'd let me... I love the Super Moon Arepa... THIS is what a party in my mouth should be all about! I don't like to sweat or do any real form of exercise but the parking here sucks in the daytime... plus I live so close that it would be such a waste of gas... so i walk, yes, me, I walk there... that says a lot about a place if you know me... Again, like all other spots out in this area, it's a small little locale, but definitelly worth a try. Every single dish I've had here, even the spaghetti with Mushrooms has been an amazing experience. The waitresses are nice and the people watching is not bad either.... ooh did i mention they also deliver??? this place is great! I just can't justify having someone drive accross the street to my house either... that just makes me feel bad... but i doubt they will take the walk for me when they don't have the reward of a Supermoon in the end... ok the end.

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Florida. I liked it so much, I tried to find a Columbian restaurant in the Bay Area, and the one I found in San Jose, CA was horrible. I haven't tried the one in downtown SF yet. Every single item ordered here has great flavor, and the portions are huge. The servers are nice, but it seemed like we had to ask them several times for things. It may have been a language issue, as the workers, and most of the customers, are Spanish speaking - note that I think this a positive attribute which suggests the authenticity of the food, and I state the above to suggest that the communication barrier was our fault for not knowing Spanish. Try to come on Thursday and order the Thursday daily special. The vibe of this restaurant is great, being underneath the metro tracks, and being populated with young people hungry for a great meal.

Great fast food place! The hotdogs and hamburgers are full of flavor. However, make sure to ask for your burger well done and the bacon crispy (otherwise you'll get a burger pink inside with bacon that has just been warmed up). Open late :-)! Service is a little slow.

La Moon I feel has changed within the past year in terms of size of their portions. As good as their bandeja paisa is, my girlfriend and I feel their portions have decreased since last summer. Fast food items aren't so special as they say it is. I basically only order the paisa and salchipapas. It's my usual when I go there! I've tried their super perro and arepa burger. It was nothing special Overall, a good restaurant when it comes to the non-fast food items. Ambiance is nice and it's located in a good corner. Would recommend for their paisa and salchipapas.

2 starts because I'm Colombian. Don't recall the last time I order from this place. But had a craving for empanadas and decided to pass by(it was on myway) Big mistake. The dough was basically raw and the ... You know what it's not even worth the effort. I recommend to go down the street to primos. You will get a more authentic meal and he place doesn't smell like roach killer.

Known for an after hours spot... I decided to come in for lunch.... My first impression is that the party never stops here... The floor is dirty with papers, sugar packets, and food... The chairs and booth seats are ripped and loose... However, the service was good, food came out fast. We ordered a Picada (empanadas, plantains, meat, pork skin, chorizo, blood sausage, lettuce and tomatoes) and an order of Quail eggs. The assortment of the Picada is great, but the actual quality of each item is debatable. The empanada was not great, the blood sausage and the meat was dried (and fried) The quail eggs where the best thing in our table. I guess if you show up at 4 AM and drunk everything tastes great!!!

I've been frequenting La Moon since it moved from its previous location years ago. The pros of La Moon is that its the great place to come when nothing else is open. The food is food at the end of the night and the wee hours of the morning. Because you're hungry right? The cons is that sometimes the location doesn't necessarily plan for holidays. Meaning, if you're in the area for some major events or just days that have large crowds in surrounding area... don't expect your food or service to be quick. The kitchen will be backed up and La Moon won't have that many staff members working. Things I recommend to eat: - Papas Criollas which is mini potatoes. This appetizer (or side) goes well with pink sauce (which is ketchup and mayo mixed together). - The burgers - The hot dogs - Maizitos or maize desgranado: This is a loaded corn dish. Corn with your choice of either beef, chicken, or plain they place it on a bed of lettuce and melt cheese on it. You can also add pink sauce to this. Pricing here is great considering the location. There is metered parking and garages nearby. Good luck with service on high peak days.

La Moon is definitely a unique hot-dog experience, at least if you choose the Super Perro. It was delicious and absolutely called for the fork it was served with. Share some plantains for desert. So fantastically flavorful. I want more plantains, now.

I cannot believe we never left a review for this place before...! We go once a month. As a Colombian i have to say their food id not the best and the most authentic, but is the most similar to colombian food around here... Juices are ecpensive and more like smoothies which bothers me cause in colombia a natural fruit juice is different... But they are in the US so probably trying to do an international kind of thing... Service is not very good... They are nice but not customer oriented... So you have to chase them to get the check and so... Their bandeja paisa is not too bad but the chocolo arepas ate terrible! I used to love this ave when was small snd not so popular but i gotta say their opening late policy is very smart! It gets packed during nights. I midd their little market and when they had pandebonos for delivery that was the best!

Great place for a late night meal after hitting the bars in brickell. La moon is located right next to blackbird (a popular bar in the area). I came to la moon after blackbird with a few friends starving after a night of drinking. I love arepas so I was very excited when I saw them on the menu. I got the pollo y queso arepa and added avocado to it. It was delicious! I just wish they had more options for toppings and such to add on some extra taste and make them a little more interesting. We also ordered fries, mozzarella sticks, and fried yuca. So we ended up with way too much food but can't complain about that! The fried yuca and fries were pretty good, I didn't like the mozzarella sticks very much but they were still alright. All in all good late night food spot!

The single best Colombian hot dog I have ever put in my mouth. HANDS DOWN. We drive down from Pembroke Pines just to get our fix every so often. The service is often hit-or-miss, but we don't care... the food is always on point. We always get the salchipapas to share and a Perro Colombiano each. Keep a bottle of the pink, green and pineapple sauce right next to you at all times. The hot dog may look loaded, but it can always use some saucy assistance. I have contemplated walking out with one of each of those bottle, but alas, my purse isn't big enough. ;-P

One of THE spots in the downtown Miami/Brickell area to gorge yourself in when its past 12 and everything else is closed. I came to this restaurant with a fellow Yelper after the CMYE at Bistro Be as she had never been to this location and she always wanted to try it. La Moon is known nationwide (thanks to Man vs. Food) for its Colombian style hot dogs or "perro calientes" and its hamburgers. While the hamburgers are very good, the main attractions are the perro calientes, particularly the super perro caliente, which consists of a foot long hot dog smothered in mustard ketchup, mayor, 3 different saues, potato sticks and topped with a quail egg. One bite into one of these dogs and you are in heaven, especially with the mixture of all the sauces with the potato sticks; you will not be able to stop eating it. And to boot, it is very affordable. Our dinner (2 perro calientes) came out to less than $15.00. So if you are ever in the Brickell area after midnight and are craving a late night snack come to La Moon; you won't regret it.

I order here often and usually I don't have a problem. Last time I ordered for delivery I called back an hour and a half later to find out the status of my order. The person on the phone asked every detail of my order again. She said it would be there soon. I stopped her before she hung up to ask what had happened. She blamed the driver and he must have messed up and they were going to make us new food. 30 min later the food arrived and we asked the driver what the issue was; he blamed the receptionist. We did not get a discount or the truth. As I was eating my food we found a in my food!!!!

Dirty bathrooms, dirty bathrooms, dirty bathrooms, sucks that your first experience on a new place has to deal with dirty bathroom. I understand is Friday night, and they are busy but come on!!!! Have one of the employees check on the bathrooms once in a while. My wife and I were around downtown area, and she really wanted to try this place for a while so here we go. We order the Crazy Moon Arepa, the Super Moon Perro and the Meat Empanada. The Empanada was ok, almost tasteless and the Colombian salsa which I usually love was't good at all it was more like a mix of Cholula Souce with onions and vinegar than anything. The arepa once again no flavor, the meat was overcook ed and all the ingredients in it just didn't do for me. Now their Perro I would say by far the best Colombian perro I ever had, even with all the sauces in it you can taste the smoked sausage and the bacon and oh my don't forget about the quail egg...delicious! However the Perro wont be enough for me to go back to this place. Price is good, food is mediocre thats my resolution on this place I wont say don't go because is worth the try but thats about it.

I've been to To The Moon, but had never made it to La Moon (despite it being on my MUST HAVE list) so when I drove by it last night I got extra excited and forced myself to go! Let's be honest, my Miami clubbing days ended some time about 5-6 years ago so doing La Moon right (meaning drunk at 4am) probably isn't going to happen...and until they put a La Moon in closer to Fort Lauderdale this was maybe my only chance to eat here, so I took advantage. Thanks to Edwin P. for joining me on my adventure. Admittedly I skipped out on the near by CMYE a little early and missed dessert (and yes I did still leave my tip!) just to get some La Moon in my life. At 8:45pm it was pretty empty which meant we were in and out by 9:10pm, just enough time to swing back to the CMYE and get a tumbler (Thanks Blue!) and tell the stragglers goodbye. Again it was pretty empty so service wasn't an issue. Waters came right out and food came out maybe 7 minutes after we placed our hotdog orders. Of course I knew ahead of time that I had to have the SuperPerro with it's multiple sauce deliciousness (I LOVE sauce!) and potato sticks, bacon, and all topped with a quail egg. Seeing that I wasn't actually even hungry I only ate half and took the other sloppy, soggy half home for my one and only, Steven C., to enjoy (now that's love! lol). So yes it's MESSY, so I wouldn't advise any first date eating go on here, but yes it's soooo worth it. Now, when can I come back. Anyone planning any Miami bachelorette parties or something I need to attend? :p Oh and PS check out the beer bottle chandeliers...they've got some really cool decor going on here!

Another hidden gem in Brickell. Great place to go after a long night of drinking. Food is OK, however I would not go here for a nice dinner. This place is where you go to grab a quick bite to eat with some friends. The only negative is the sub par service. Drink refills take forever I usually have to stand up and look for the waitress. The prices are very fair.

Honestly there is really only one reason you should be at La Moon. It is late at night, you have been drinking in Brickell, and you are starving. That said there is no better option than La Moon and the item you should be eating is the SuperMoon Perro. The Colombian hotdog is the ultimate treat and believe me you will not be the only drunk person in the restaurant devouring it. The dog itself is made of sausage and it is covered with multiple sauces including the delicious pink sauce, as well as a quail egg. This in addition to some of the yellow potatoes doused in the same pink sauce and you will be one happy camper. I cannot say I have ever been here before 11pm, so I do not know what lunch and dinner are like, but I will continue to come back when I find myself looking for food after a night of drinking in Brickell.

Supermoon Perro was the best thing to ever enter my body. Saw it on Man V Food so I had to try it, it did not disappoint, right down the street from the Brickell Metro Rail stop and around the corner from Blackbird (one of the best bars in Brickell). Also La Moon is open until 6am its the perfect drunk food but also da bomb if you're sober.

I'll start off by saying the food is gooood. I've only ordered the super perro. The quail egg sitting atop the monstrosity of a hot dog puts it over the top. I've tried the salchipapas too. Yummm! My friends also rave about the crazy moon burger. Just like the super perro, it's messy to eat but super delicious. My HUGE knock on La Moon is their customer service. When dining in, one must be prepared to face terrible service. I mean, they don't even try to fake it. (sidenote: I'm American born and raised. My cultural background is not. However, my family learned the language.) Seriously. We could barely communicate with the server and she didn't even try to work with us - forcing us to figure it out on our own. I was so uncomfortable ordering food, thinking that we were going to end up with stuff we did not want. Rude.

I know most people come here for a late bite after the clubs and I have too. I've had their burgers and they are OK. However, this is my go-to place for lunch when I'm in a rush: they have a really good grilled chicken and grilled salmon. Both are very flavorful and the portions are large and satisfying. I usually call them ahead of time and my order is ready within 15 minutes. I have also dined in and I must say the service they are slow, especially when you want the bill: you will have to ask for it if you are in a rush.

Started with salchipapas, which were great. Then I had the perro columbian. It's an 8 inch hotdog with 5 different sauces on it - ketchup, mustard, mayo, a "pink sauce", and another sauce which I dont know what it was. It was delicious! I definitely want to go back! The rest of the menu looked very good too.

The food is good for 2:30am. Prob one of the better options after 1am on Brickell for food. The empanadas are my favorite here.

Man Vs Food (super moon perro)$ 7.00 That's What I came for. ON a Sunday Night... a Bit Crowded (outdoors and indoors). 2 Waitress and another gentleman filling up water, cleaning tables and serving food. - we sat down, got the menu, but waited more than 15 minutes to order Food Arrived quick, But It wasn't fresh (As I think). The Bacon was not crunchy enough, The Hot Dog was BIG but as what Johnny Says "Lukewarm". I guess hangover drunk food won't taste the difference, but I was not Drunk or came out from a Party. Dissapointment.

Ok, I was suuuuper excited about going here. After seeing this restaurant on Men VS Food, I knew I HAD TO GO! Finally, yesterday after being in the vecinity, my husband and I went, and I was as excited as a little child! The place itself is very cozy and ample, there are a lot of tables inside and out. They also have the option of eating inside or takeout the food. As far as the food goes, as soon as we scaned the menu, we knew we had to try their Crazy Arepa Burger, and their signature Super Moon Perro, and of course we had to try at least one empanada! Soo the empanada was served and I dipped it in the aji (my favorite salsa in THE WORLD) but as soon as I took a bite, I was soo dissappointed. The empanda was blend and the the salsa tasted just like bufffalo sauce, which is far from what aji should taste like. Then, the stars of the night were served and I was Happy happy! The hot dog is hands down the best hotdog in the UNIVERSE! Even though it had a thousand sauce and components, you could taste the smoked sausage, bacon, quail eggs and cheese! Then, I took a bite of the Arepa Burger ans at first I loved it, but when I took a bite of it without any sauce, I was dissapointed to discover the beef was blend, and the arepa was really nothing without the sauce, and it really shouldn't be that way. I glad that I got to go here finally, but I don't think I would ever go back. There are way better Colombian restaurants in Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood. I wish them the best, but its def a dissapointment when a restaurant does not meet your expectations.

Delicious late night eats. Conveniently located right next door to Blackbird Ordinary, this place is always packed on the weekends post 2am. Outdoor & indoor seating available. Be warned, the bathroom lock wasn't working for a while, I don't know whether it's been fixed yet. Best way to get a table is scoping out those who just asked for the check and tell them you want their table when they leave. (Since there's self seating) My favorite thing to order is the Supermoon Perro. Waitstaff is decent.

I am ashamed to say that I have worked in Brickell for almost two years and pass this restaurant everyday on my way in, and now is when I have finally tried it. But at least I made it, right? And, boy am I glad I did. This place is literally the bomb. I went with a group of friends, which ended up being a great excuse to try a little bit of everything. I personally love arepas. The arepa I tried at La Moon was filled with steak and cheese, plus I added their special sauce. I can't even express in words how delicious this arepa was - melts in your mouth. Then I had to try the famous Colombian bandeja paisa, or mountain plate. This out-of-control plate isn't for the faint of heart. It comes with rice, red beans, pork belly, smoked sausage, sweet plantains, egg, arepa, steak, and avocado. Again, not for the faint of heart, but totally worth every bite. Just pretend you are on an episode of Man vs. Food! Last but not least, I am sure you know that Colombians are known for having some pretty killer perros, or hot dogs. This supermoon perro has smoked sausage, bacon and quail egg. Hands down the best hot dog I have ever tasted.

PINK SAUCE PERRO Colombiano Pink Sauce zing on their perros and papa fritas. First time with a quail egg on top of my perro. It's welcomed change from hamburgers and pizzas. Most of the patrons are regulars. If you're not sure what to order, just check out the table next to you. There are no dainty snackers here. LoL

Great food! We tried the SuPerMoon perro and the super mazorca! Both were fire! Parking was a female dog, but it was worth it. I'm not sure I'll be back soon since I can hit up Los Perros restaurants near by. Good ambiance and decor!

About a 3. because my husband loved the hot dog.(Colombian)The cheese arepa was okay I was inebriated and didn't find it very memorable. For me it was a 2 for him a 4 so I'll give it a 3. Still the best arepas I've eaten are Caracas in New York and I'm waiting for Miami to blow me away!

Authentic, delicious Colombian food. I highly recommend the Sancho de Gallina (special only on Friday) it is amazing!!!! The empanadas are delicious as well. They provide each table with a generous amount of Colombian salsa which I have tried to replicate but can't get it to taste nearly as good as La Moon's!

La Moon is the perfect spot for after-club (aka drunk/hangover) eating! La Moon burger is my fav. Customer service could be better but hey I don't expect anyone serving food to be chipper at 3am in the morning.

I never knew Columbian hot dogs ever existed until I saw La Moon featured on Man vs. Food. So when I vacationed in Miami, I made it my mission to check this place out. La Moon is half a neighborhood restaurant for family/business people and half a hangout joint for the late-night partiers. Whatever category you fall into, you'll definitely find something to satisfy those hungry tummies. I tried the supermoon perro: smoked sausage, bacon, cheese, crushed potato chips, a quail egg, and five different sauces. I'm not too sure what the five sauces are, but the ones I can make out were ketchup, mustard, and mayo. Oh my, was this a party in my mouth. There were so many different textures and flavors all at once. Surprisingly, the bun was not soggy from all the different sauces. These Columbian hot dogs are definitely worth the hype and the calories. Yes, it's that amazing. I just wish we had a place like this in Chicago. The only thing that I have to complain about is the long wait time for one of these hot dogs. It wasn't busy when I stopped by, but still took almost 15 minutes for my hot dog to come to order. But I still would come back anytime and wait as long as they needed me to wait for one of these hot dogs.

Went here because it looked casual and we just went to the beach. We loved the decor inside which was rich wood and colombian artifacts. We chose to sit outside which was a bit noisy because it's on a busy corner. We are animal lovers so we thought it was great that you could dine outside while your dog sat under the table. The food was wonderful. I had a Colombian Dish with corn, lettuce, mozzarella cheese and 3 types of meat on top and a delicious mayo based sauce. My friend had a steak wrap with bleu cheese also delicious. They give very large portions and the price is very affordable. The service was friendly and on point. Saw a lot of locals eating here.

Two stars because I can't deny the food here is pretty good but the service we received last night was annoying. To make a long story short we ordered our food at 9:29 the lady said to pick it up in 20 mins. We arrive at 9:45 so we wait. 10 minutes, 20.. It's now 10:10 and our food is not ready. We left the place at 10:38 with our food. ONE super perro, salchipapa and two small empanadas. Management should really TRY and hire more servers because it seems to me like they were extremely understaffed. Miami service SUCKS!

3 A.M. FOOD CRAVINGS are NO JOKE... DON'T FIGHT IT... YOU CAN'T WIN... My craving began with a seed that was planted earlier in the evening when I walked passed La Moon on my way into Blackbird Ordinary I wasn't hungry while at Blackbird Ordinary but I was thinking about this table of girls sitting out front of La Moon... it wasn't the girls though; it was the food on the table... Since when do hot dogs look like that and just what is all that stuff covering that wiener? We eventually left Blackbird Ordinary and ended up eating fancy food and I forgot all about La Moon... but I ended up at another bar almost 10 miles away from La Moon when the seed started to sprout... those Colombian Hot Dogs sure were interesting. It's now around 2 A.M. and I NEVER eat so late at night... I lost a lot of weight and watch what I eat majority of the time; so eating La Moon's Colombian Hot Dog is out of the question... Well, just this once LET'S DO IT ! ! ! And there you have the 3 A.M. Food Craving ! ! ! WHAT I GOT: Perro Colombiano (Colombian Hot Dog)... I do confess I first saw these on Adam Richmond's TV show. It was big and had tons of sauce but sadly the TV show over-hyped them because it was unimpressive... what shouldve tasted like a hotdog in a bun with condiments tasted more like a bun with sauces and the slightest hint of hot dog.... NOT FOR ME Crazy Chicken Arepa Burger... Burger with egg, bacon, ham, mozzarella, potato sticks, SIX different sauces and served on an arepa (corn pancake)... holy crap it was good (all cravings are conquered here). My left bicep is sore and noticably larger... In all's honestly that burger seemed to weigh close to 3 lbs (INSANE)... It tasted unreal but just too rich for a 3 am food craving but after loosing 50+ pounds I figure I deserve an unnecessary reward (even if it is kinda evil). POPULARITY: I'm told there are better places for middle of the night cravings but in reality it was 3 in the morning and it was packed with dinners and take-out guests. FUTURE VISIT: I would fight the late night cravings but I already know I'd loose... so yeah... I'll be back ! ! !

Best burger in town. Open all night. Great to come after a concert. On Wednesday they have Sancocho Santafereño, a creamy potato base soup with chicken, really good. Great empanadas and maicito. Service sometimes get slow but in general is good.

La Moon is just.... amazing! I had the super perro before, and if you haven't... get your butt to La Moon NOW! My latest visit I wanted to try something different and got the salchipapas. Mmmm, goooood. If only I had the appetite to eat a super perro + salchipapas. The first time I tried La Moon, a friend picked up and brought it back to me. The second time, I went to the restaurant myself. Unfortunately, I could barely communicate with the server. No habla espanol. As Mark A. stated in his review, she didn't even try to speak broken English with us. I had to pick up the very few words I know in Spanish while she was speaking 100 miles a minute. "spanishspanishspanish bebidos." Bebidos! Drinks! What do you want to drink? It was like a game... but not a fun one.

First encounter with Colombian food and I think I like it! The supermoon perro is an interesting twist on a regular hotdog - covered in pink sauce and bacon and a mess of other stuff, it's an indulgent meal all on its own. The steak sandwich was a touch over cooked, but still yummy. Overall good food for a fair price, especially for Brickell.

Great place to stop by after a night of drinking, but I'm sad that they no longer serve specialty drinks like guanabana that they used to serve at their previous location. I tried their Arepa Burger, and it is ginormous. If I hadn't skipped dinner before coming to this place, I think I could only eat half of it. Stuffed with fries, lettuce, tomato, and a chunk of meat patty, it was perfect for my grumbling stomach.

Terrible terrible service...terrible! Also, a bit overpriced. $65 for two dogs, two sandwiches and a couple of sodas is excessive, in my opinion. I will not be returning to this place.

Screw service. The food is good and certainly unique. I'll take food over service any day. Bunch of ninnies over here. Eat your food and shut up. It's Miami... good service does not exist. So take what you can get. Hostility aside, this place offers a lot. The location is great, opened late for after bar/club/show munchies, and well...this place is awesome.

After a long night around town, you suddenly find yourself with this insatiable hunger which only the greasiest of foods can possibly quench. Luckily for you, La Moon is open till the wee hours of the morning. Let me start by saying I've never had Colombian food so I'm not an expert on the matter, but as to their hot dogs & arepas, that I can attest to! I've had their Super Perro which is great, but I think the bacon & sausage get a bit lost in the shuffle of sauces. I actually enjoy their Perro Colombiano much more; I'm able to taste the wonderful explosion of flavors in the combination of their 5 amazing sauces- but that's my personal preference. However, lately the one thing I crave from this place is their Steak & Cheese arepa!!! It is everything I want rolled up into one convenient bite- slightly crunchy arepa, salty and oh so flavorful shredded meat, and extra gooey cheese!!! Oh my!!! And at $6.50 it cannot be beat!! I've also had their empanadas and these are great too- these are fried not baked and the dough is made out of corn. The beef ones are my favorite. As for service, it does tend to be on the slower side but since half the time it's way past our bedtime anyway, who really cares! And when you can get a meal this late at night for under $10 that doesn't involve a drive-thru, I say it's a win-win situation!!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who would have ever thought hot dogs could be this good? Yes, it's amazing, try the Supermoon Perro, comes with a quail egg on top and a number of different sauces that are delectable. I shared one with a friend along with a chicken arepa. Divine! Service was lacking a little, until the "S"uper Manager (please, please, please, imagine the big "S" visible down his open shirt, and him standing with fists on hips and chest out). The rude woman behind the bar interrupting the young and obviously green rookie, telling us (right over his voice) "I'll be with you in a moment" in a stern, and condescending tone. I had half a mind to get up and leave, until I remembered how my friend had raved about their food, while clenching my shirt telling me "We need to go and eat there now!" Granted that might have been me after she told me how amazing their food was and we were right next door at Blackbird Ordinary having a few drinks and it was time to put some food where the drinks were. Needless to say, it turned out to be a nice meal that hit the spot at the right time. La Moon, (said in a Schwarzenegger tone) "I'll be back!"

Colombian food at almost any time of day. I visit La Moon when I'm craving perros colmbiano (hot dog with a tiny quail egg, cheese and potato chips, with 5 different sauces sprinkled on top), salchipapas (fried hot dogs with french fries served with a pink dipping sauce), the crazy moon arepa burger (burger on an arepa served with ham, bacon, fried egg, mozarella, lettuce, sauce galore, and poato sticks). The food is really delicious and they are open late night so it's always a favorite of mine post-partying in Brickell. They also deliver.

  • Eric N.

I ate at their original location once, the hot dogs were pretty good, nothing amazing. Service was TERRIBLE. Decided to give them a second try. I called to order take out (since all the Yelp reviews say they take forever to deliver) and the guy that answered the phone picked up, and just said "hold on." He didn't even put me on hold, I could hear all the bickering going in the background. They just lost a customer. I can't even say they had bad service because I never got service. I left the phone on speaker waiting for them to answer and the guy never came back. I hung up after 5 minutes. Want a much better hot dog and great service? Try Sweet Dogs....

Once you get past the mediocre service, the food is delicious. This was my first time having Colombian hot dogs. Never have I been so excited to take another bite of a hot dog. I had a Perro Colombian. It's covered with five sauces (don't worry about what they are, they're good), bits of potato chips and more heavenly toppings that I cannot name...and again, it doesn't matter because it works! It's sensational! Best hot dog EVAH! The menu is stacked with lots of options if you don't like hot dogs. The place is set-up somewhat like a luncheonette with a decent number of tables.

I was told prior to my trip to Miami, that the best place to get late night grub was La Moon. When I saw that their Saturday night hours said 6 ... AM ... I realized that they could very well be right. At 2 AM, parking isn't really that much of an issue as I was able to find an area where the meter heads were apparently cut off at some point, probably thanks to some vigilante cool hand Luke or something, so a rare free parking opportunity arose in the middle of the night, a half block away. Being as late as it was, there was still a good bit of business going on there, but not to where my friends and I couldn't be seated promptly; clearly we made good timing as people started to arrive, and were forced to wait while I began to chow down on my Super Moon Perro. The combination of ingredients, from the quail egg, bacon, and all the crushed potato sticks mired in the sauce, was a wonderful experience. As someone very used to paying $7+ for hot dogs at sporting venues, the $5.99 that comes attached to the Super Moon Perro is like getting a porterhouse steak for the cost of a Big Mac. In short, going late at night, parking wasn't an issue, waiting wasn't an issue, the food was cheap, delicious, and unforgettable.

The service here was excellent and we really enjoyed the food. The outdoor seating makes this a great spot to enjoy a great meal and a cold drink. I put the aji (vinegar based salsa) on almost everything...yum

Pretty damn good late night drunk food. It was packed and service was still pretty quick relatively. Fried food with a little Cuban twist. You'll think, "Quail eggs? WTH?" But its so good!

Arrived at about 11:30 on a Friday night after a session in Tobacco Road, DYING for some hot meat to fill a dinnerless belly. On the menu everything looked great, but I really just wanted some meat, and fast. So I ordered myself the Chuzo Desgranado which was steak, chicken, smoked sausage, bacon, cheese, potato sticks, and pink sauce all on a bed of lettuce. It was grand, satisfied my need but it just didn't wow me tastewise. My friends ordered some overstuffed burgers which were about the size of Yelper Harley H's head. No fault with service or quality of food and such a great option to have late at night if you are in the area because they open really late. Prices are reasonable too. And you never know who you are going to run into here :)

I got take out the other night from LA Moon and although I didn't go in, I hear it was quite the experience. Complete with a woman singing in the middle of the restaurant. Next time I will have to go check it out myself. This review is strictly for the food and you read correctly. I will be returning. We actually tried to have LA Moon deliver, but not speaking Spanish there was way to much of a Language barrier so the bf went for pick up. I ordered to arepa with meet and cheese. Yum, this is a winner. I'd order this again, but only if they had that yummy hot sauce/salsa that came with my bf's empanda. That hot sauce was great and I found the arepa little bland without it. Don't get me wrong though, the arepa was good, but I like things spicy. The arepa was overflowing with a white melty cheese, and flavorful shredded beef all contained in a warm and crispy corn sandwich. The bf's arepa burger was huge, tasty, and messy. I'd recommend that as well, but on bread, not an arepa.

¡La Moon es la mierda! (If you don't know what that means, translate that on Google) Located on Calle Ocho on the boundary between Little Havana and Downtown, La Moon is most famous for being featured in one of Adam Richman's little segments on Man v. Food. He tried the Super Moon Perro, and I may or may not have come here only because he went here. The service isn't too special, but all servers are bilingual. I came here over a year ago, but I remember there being seating in front of the front door, as well as seating in two different sections of the restaurant. Most of the clientele appeared to be regulars who were communicating exclusively in Spanish. I was the only English-speaking person in the restaurant at the time. Go me. I got the Super Moon Perro, and it was fabulous. It is a hot dog with Colombian, tropical, and a few American influences, simply put. They top the hot dog with pineapple sauce, mustard, Colombian chorizo, a quail egg, and a few other seemingly exotic ingredients. Oh, they also top everything off with potato sticks. So it's literally all that and a bag of chips. Hello, 1997. The ingredients surprisingly went very well together, with none of the ingredients overpowering each other. The hot dog was cooked very well, too - well, it was also cooked excessively (I requested it that way), but they way they cooked it added to the flavor. Overall, a very good burger. Then there's more: I maintain a blog online where I reviewed this restaurant, and somebody from this restaurant left a comment on my blog entry for La Moon. Apparently, I should try the Super Moon Burger the next time I'm down there (or something like that). The service is mediocre, but the food more than makes up for it.

The food here is sooooooo good! I already have an affinity for South American food, specifically Peruvian. On a recent trip to Miami, I wanted to try Colombian food and I heard that this was the spot. Wow! The Carne Asada was delicious and I also tried the Churrasco which tied in flavor. So many great things to choose from on the menu! Next time I think I just gonna go for the Colombian Hamburguesas o el perro!! Looking forward to my next visit! Anddd--- this place is open till 1am!!! perfect!

I love this place. I've been here twice now and the food was delicious both times. I don't always know what it is I'm eating, but that's okay with me. Getting to try new things is the best thing. The fact that I can eat here at 3 a.m. is just icing on the cake! There need to be more establishments like this around. The only reason I took off one star is because the service can be slow sometimes. Other than that this restaurant is excellent!

I swung by here for lunch when I was in Miami. I was yelping for a place to eat in this area, and all the places in the area were $$$, except this little gem. It turned out to be Colombian instead of Cuban, but it was all good because they have some seriously awesome food! The tomato soup, super perros, and wraps were all soo good. The wrap especially had delicious gooey cheese and tender meat. The Greek salad was huge! It was definitely a good place to munch at after a long road trip down from Atlanta :D We just parked on the street and forgot to pay the meter-- oops-- but was thankfully not ticketed.

BEST hotdog EVER! Let's get to the point because I'm already salivating as I write this. Yours truly ordered the Supermoon Perro. Smoked sausage, bacon, cheese, potato sticks, quail egg, and those 5 amazing sauces splattered like some impressionistic art all over the hotdog. That first crunch when you bite into it is like "hmm..am I really eating a hotdog" to "WHOAA, what the Hell is this?!" yummy deliciousness!! My partner in crime ordered the Crazy Moon Burger. I had half of his order and wow, this was really good, too. That crunch along with the sauces and egg was just the perfect compliment to my perro. Annnnd let's not forget my passion fruit juice and our side order of really good crispy fries. All this made two hungry foodies super happy. Forget about the horrible parking and seating situation, I'm still going to give you all the stars because the food just made up for that. In the meantime, watch out La Moon, I'm going to attempt to recreate your Perro in my kitchen!! :)

Okay, I admit - I only wanted to go here because they were featured on Man Vs. Food. Was it worth it - Yes Sir! There is one thing you cannot leave without trying - the Supermoon Perro! I know it may look a bit overwhelming, maybe even a lil scary - so you might choose to perhaps to split it with someone - that's a mistake. I should've had my own. It's soft, it's crunchy, it's salty, it's sweet, it has a friggin quail egg on it! It's worth unbuttoning those pants. Just do it.

Didn't get into Miami until after 9pm on a Sunday, but thankfully this place is open late. I had the fried pork belly as an appetizer. It tasted good, but I felt the pork was just a bit overcooked and it made the pork a little tougher than it probably should have been. Of course I had to get their famous supermoon perro as my meal. This is one massive hotdog with a lot going on. It was a little difficult to eat (cleanly), but was wondefully delicious and flavorful. I think the best thing about this place is its value. You can get a meal, drink, and appetizer for under $20 and it's good food. The staff is friendly as well. This is a solid place.

Trying to find parking around this place is like trying to spot a pair of natural boobs on South Beach, but once you find your way inside, the food is worth it. The Colombian hamburgers and hot dogs? Dude. Just order one (or both) and enjoy. I get down to Miami once or twice a year and I just added this place to my list of regular stops.

Despite the fact this place was packed on a Saturday for lunch, the service was very friendly and fast. That said, the place is clearly very popular. The prices are reasonable, and the food is good. They are perhaps in need of a few more vegetarian options but I think their a la carte style side items are sufficient to please most vegetarians. I can't say anything about the hot dogs, since I do not eat hot dogs, but they looked enormous. I guess if you like meat there should be something here for you. :-)

Am I missing something? Never have I been so disappointed by yelp. I have been four times, tried everything from the vaunted Supermoon Perro to soup and salad, and I've been consistently underwhelmed. Here's my breakdown. The food: - The Supermoon Perro is an overpriced hotdog that is simultaneously filling and sickening. The supermoon is good enough going down, but you will almost immediately want it to come back up. There is an egg on top. Whoop-dee-doo. - The Caesar Salad is a joke. My wife ordered it, and we're convinced La Moon put it on the menu just to punish people who try to order food that isn't Columbian. They basically take an entire bag of Costco lettuce, drip two spoonfuls of bland dressing on the wilted bag, and drop it on a plate. - There are several other marginal dishes that are just there. Nothing to write about, as the saying goes, so I won't. The best thing on the menu are the natural fruit drinks. Agua de Guanabana is the best, and well worth the price. Make sure to try it with leche, as the creaminess makes it absolutely amazing. The service: This is the one thing about La Moon that yelp got right. Service is abysmal. La Moon has made an art of ignoring customer satisfaction. It's like the wait staff is on a different planet than the customers sitting five feet away. As if they're on...wait for it...the moon. So why all the hype about this place? I still can't figure it out. I could tell you they lace their hotdogs with cyanide and you'll still go. That's the thing about hype. It isn't always good, but its always compelling. When you finish your Supermoon and ask yourself "that's it?" while waiting for your glass of water to be refilled, you'll remember this review. You've been warned. You'll have a while to contemplate, since a glass of water at La Moon lies empty for at least 20 minutes on a quiet night.

Last week's torrential rain delayed my flight by almost two hours, so I landed in MIA pretty late. Naturally, being Miami, this in no way means you can't get a full sit-down dinner. My friend and I headed to La Moon, got a table right away, and ordered a ton of food. We split an order of yuca frita, which was delicious. I had an order of churrasco and my friend got the bandeja paisa, which was basically a huge plate of meat. We ate very well, enjoyed it all, and didn't spend that much money in the process. I count that as a win.

Very cool spot where you can grab some good food and have a conversation. The empanadas were very dry and over done but the burger (chicken) was fantastic. Definitely not a first date location as the food is a bit messy but the atmosphere is relaxed and somewhere I will eat again!

Great columbian food at even better prices! Had the sancocho, empanada and ordered the bandeja paesa to go (not for me LOL). The aji was some of the best ive ever had! Service was a bit choppy and when i asked for a piece of avocado - she said we only serve avocado with the bandeja! WTF either you have it or you don't!

I'm sorry but for my money, the superperro or two is the best drunk food ever! This has always been one of my favorite after hours places in Miami. The delicious hot dog that's topped with a myriad of toppings and a small egg. Yummmmm. Do it if you haven't. Do it again if you have. Just simply brilliant

Addiction? What? me? noo.. OK well maybe just a little addiction.. I don't think there is anything better than empanadas and arepas! I begged to make a quick stop here every time we are in Miami and finally my wish came true! The place is small but the food is delicious. I ordered 2 empanadas de carne and an arepa de carne y queso! I was in heaven! The food was brought out to us quickly. There were not many people there like there would be on Friday and Saturdays nights. During those nights it is impossible to find a place to sit. However, on a Sunday there were plenty of free tables. They have music playing throughout the restaurant. A few TVs showing the music videos. The decor is cute. The only reason I didn't give them the 5th star is because our waiter completely forgot about us and took forever to give us the check to pay! We waited and waited and finally asked another waiter to help us out. It was so annoying. Plus it was getting late and all we wanted to do was get home. The food gets 4start and service gets 1star.

Let me begin by saying that the Supermoon Perro was absolute deliciousness! It was the reason for my visit last night... I was really excited about trying it & it did not disappoint! I imagined that it might be a super heavy hot dog considering how much sauce is on it. (Both in your hand & in your stomach.) Surprisingly, it was not heavy at all! My BF was worried about the pineapple sauce but realized that you cannot really taste it... it just adds a nice sweetness. Now... the reason I only gave this place 4 stars... My BF & I also ordered the Bandeja Paisa and the Yuca Frita to share along with our hot dogs... The Bandeja Paisa consists of rice, red beans, a crescent moon shaped arepa, a slice of avocado, fried pork belly, half of a smoked sausage and a skirt steak cooked to order. This was delicious (Minus the pork belly for me... I removed the fat to make it edible) My only complaint here was that although we ordered our steak medium rare, it was served COLD. I dont mean tepid or slightly warm... It was COLD. I dont know if they cooked the steak first because the rest of the food was warm... Really strange and I was a little turned off by this. The food was tasty aside from this. The Yuca Frita left something to be desired. It was pale & seemed as though it should have been fried a bit longer. They were not crispy or very tasty... I only ate one & let my BF eat the rest. Disappointment... The service was not bad. Our waitress was friendly & polite. My only gripe there was that although it was shortly after 1am on a Sunday & they were closing, they took a while to bring the check. We sat there for quite a while after they cleared our plates waiting for it. You would think that they would be in more of a hurry to close up & get the checks for all remaining customers. The waitress passed us several times but finally another waiter came & brought it to us. They also only had 2 types of beer that were cold... Um... why would a restaurant keep warm beers?? Overall, the food was good. I went for the Supermoon Perro and was very satisfied with it. I will definitely be going back.

On our South Florida eating escapade of a vacation, I had to take the bf to this place! reminiscent of all those late night eats! Perro Colombian. Hot dog. Melted mozzarella. Chips 5 sauces. Side of fries. the fries were good. we shared the perro, it was good. but can't imagine eating this more often.

No Parking!!! Come with quarters. This place does NOT live up to the hype. Prices are high for the small portions that you receive. Service is very slow and parking is difficult to find. If you want a tourist trap, this is the right place to go. if you want authentic Colombian cuisine, go somewhere else.

Saw the reviews for the Super Perro, and in summary, it tastes better than the Planet Hollywood Hotdog from Pinks. YUMMY: Bite into that Super Perro and your mouth meets wonders of crispy bacon, flavorful sausage, faithful hotdog, crunchy diced potatoes, and pink sauce. Mid hotdog you bite into a quail egg - it's like the cherry on top. Yum. As I write this I am craving it right now!! To make this meal even more pleasant, wash it all down with Guanabana juice and you have perfection! YUCKY: None!

Great place for those late night cravings...not too Vegetarian friendly, but I had the corn with cheese and lettuce and it was so delish. For all the meat eaters...this must be heaven... Now...don't go on counting the carbs...just close your eyes and enjoy!

I was totally a fan of their previous location. If you were there around 3am on a Saturday night, I was probably the girl sitting next to you taking down a supermoon perro with a mango shake. However, since moving to their new location, I have had a complete change of opinion. My biggest complaint would be the service. Does it really take 45 minutes to make a salad? I don't even think I was able to enjoy water because it was never even poured for me. I constantly found myself searching for my waiter, who was no where to be found, trying to remind them about water and my order. A simple lunch turned out to be an hour plus disaster. I do give them credit on their food however. The Supermoon Perro is delicious and totally worth it after a night of partying. I have never really had a bad meal from here, even though I can't remember some! Final verdict: The food is 4 stars, the service is 1 star. Up to you to decide what's more important.

I've been here three times and tried a few items. I think the place is superb - really good food, great sauces, and very friendly service. 1) The Superperro is really good. I think it is the best hot dog in this town. I was concerned that there were too many toppings and that it may be messy to eat. However they serve it in a sleeve that makes it really easy to eat. It's very tasty. The sausage is grilled so it's a little burnt on the outside which is perfect. The toppings are a combination of tart sauces, spices, crunchy stuff and soft stuff. It's like an explosion of flavor and texture. 2) I had a dish which was french fries with sliced sausages topped with sauces. Don't remember the name but it was also very good. 3) the burgers are less exciting. I ordered a super arepa burger. There are 2 issues: one is that the burger is European style - dense and lean. I prefer American style juicy burgers. The second issue is the arepa is not a good bun for a burger. It breaks apart and is too crispy. Best to stick to the regular bun - although I would stick to the hot dogs. 4) the servers are really nice and helped us navigate the menu. They were also attentive with drinks and providing additional sauce. Impressive for a fast food place. I'm a regular now. Really love this place.

The husband and I went to La Moon on Friday night to have the great food that we are accustomed to at La Moon. The place was buzzing (note - not slammed) with patrons and we were seated quickly outside and given menus. However, we should have know something was wrong when after 10 minutes of waiting for someone to come to introduce themselves as our server or to take our drink order (note -- not even water was given). Moreover, while waiting, we noticed that there was a table that had been seated prior to our arrival and were desperately trying to get menus! As I practically had a hole in my stomach from not eating, I was not keen on waiting so long, but since I knew that the food was good, I figured that I could wait a bit more. We flagged down a server and asked if we could place our order to which she responded "Give me a minute to get your server." Normally, I am a patient person but after another 10 minutes with no sign of assistance/acknowledgement, we stood up and left. No one noticed, no one asked why we were leaving, nothing. It is a shame the service was so bad b/c I really enjoy this place especially late night, where you can forgive poor service, but at 9PM, there is no excuse for not even asking for someones' drink order after 20 minutes of sitting down. This experience has moved them down VERY low on my go-to list. Que pena, pero La Moon se fue a los perros for me!

After hearing about La Moon from so many of my friends, I cam here on two different occasions and I came away with two different feelings for La Moon. ALTERNATE UNIVERSE On my first visit, I had been drinking quite a bit causing my judgments to be compromised at La Moon. The place is a crowded late night eatery (open till 5am), but even with that the case, we were seated very quickly. I decided to order the much raved about Supermoon Perro. I hate hot dogs and it usually makes me sick to my stomach. This menu selection reinforces the fact my judgment had seen better days. The service was quick and efficient. Our food came out in no time, but we were operating in drunk time, where time is warped due to intoxication. I took a bite and I swore it was the best thing I ever ate in my life. It was hot dog heaven. The toppings and quail egg were perfect to my drunken eyes. Yes, you could say I had beer goggles for my food. Even with my stomach hurting, I was a glutton for punishment as I continued to eat away. Again, the altered state had me not thinking of tomorrow's consequences from eating the hot dog. REALITY On my second visit, I had been closer to the sober side, yet all I could think about is how I enjoyed my first visit to La Moon. You could say I was excited to return. On this visit, my fellow Yelper, Rony M, used his charm and got us a great view with street side seating. Again the service was spot on. I had no complaints about the service. I decided to order the Crazy La Moon Burger. It is a burger with arepas as the buns. It is absolutely ginormous. It is almost impossible to get your mouth around it and even if you do expect it to be extremely messy. For me, burger was everywhere on my plate and on me. I looked like a toddler trying to eat the burger. The burger was good, but not great. The blood sausage was nothing special. I left thinking it was not as good as my first visit. This got me thinking about La Moon. My conclusion about La Moon is it gets better as you drink more. It is one of the best drunk people, late night eats around town.

Does every place in Miami charge a delivery fee? I guess that's something different from VA where there just has to be a minimum order amount to deliver. Anyways, it took one hour for them to deliver and the food was absolutely underwelming. The Super Perro was extremely extremely overrated and just drenched with sodium and mayo. The really delicious part though were the french fries with sausage in it. It was super addictive and just the right amount of saltiness. I would probably not order from here ever besides the fact that this place is probably the only place to order late night food from around the Viceroy downtown area! This place is what it is: an average late night food spot when you're drunk or when you're just starving in the middle of the night when you're pulling an allnighters, but I've definitely experienced better late night options than this one!

I've eaten here twice in the past week. When I think of a hot dog I immediately think of La Moon. They moved locations a while back and it is even more convenient for me to walk there. The service isn't the best I think it is made up for in the amazing food. I am addicted to the Supermoon Perro - hot dog, potato sticks, bacon, some kind of sausage, cheese and 5 sauces, oh, and did I forget to mention a quail egg?! So delish! Their plantains are good, the side or corn desgranada is amazing - corn, cheese, potato sticks, lettuce and a sauce. Crack corn is more like it. And my new thing is the natas, a pudding they serve for dessert. I'm hooked. I've gotten the arepa burger before but it is just too much for me personally. I ate 4 bites and was full because of the arepa. If you want an amazing hot dog go to La Moon!

Supermoon Perro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all the way. Love this place. Have to come every time I'm in miami. Food is great and love the creations. Whats better than Bacon on top of Suasage, then you add cheese and crunched up chips, then you add nine sauces. But hold up, you top that with a quill egg. Im drooling now thinking about it.

At first you may think that this Colombian restaurant is solely limited to burgers and hotdogs but do yourself a favor and venture out of that section of the menu because the rest of their food is absolutely delicious. Their roasted tomato soup is out of this world, their shrimp scampi as an appetizer is perfect for two/three people and for dinner everything is wonderful. My favorites are the salmon, their pinchos, their Bistec de pollo a la plancha and if you are really hungry go for their bandeja paisa it's an amazing mix of foods! My suggestion is that you enjoy their Aguilar beer or wine for a little bit to open up room because you can't leave without trying their dessert: Nata. Enjoy!

How am I JUST now discovering this gem? One of my voice students is a super-talented Colombian soprano, composer and trumpeter. She joined me and two other singing friends for my first visit to La Moon. I think the best review of this place came from her lips after we devoured two Supermoon perros...."this is home". It was indeed a luxury to have a native at the table as we sampled the delicious menu at La Moon. The location, awkwardly (but awesomely) located under the metro on 8th St. is extremely inviting and staffed, during our visit, with a friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming staff. Let's get down to these perros. Unless you are completely overwhelmed by a messy hot dog, the Supermoon perro is a MUST. This delicious edible canine beast was served up on a fresh bun topped with chorizo, bacon, potato sticks, FIVE sauces and, my favorite, a boiled, perfectly salted quail egg. Confession: my friend and I ate two of them. That's right. Total fatties. My other pals indulged in some arepas and a plate of their steaming hot fettuccine. Though the Supermoon perro was the obvious headliner of the event, I am pleased to report that La Moon offered me the opportunity to learn about refajo...a refreshing mix of Colombiana soda and beer. You won't see it on the menu, but ask for a pitcher and they will whip it up for you. It was the perfect balance to the fatty salty goodness of the perros. I can't wait to return and introduce people to this place. Any hot dog lover needs to hurry down to this amazing place and dive in. This cow jumped over la Moon.

A heart attack in a bun. That's probably the best way to describe the Super Perro. What makes the Super Perro, so "super" you ask? Bacon, cheese, crushed potato crisps topping a hot dog, drizzled with five different sauces and topped with a quail egg. I'll admit it - I couldn't handle all of that. But I watched in amazement as my friends polished off these hot dogs that were close to a foot long. I on the other hand opted for the Super Moon Burger, which had a many of the same toppings of the Super Perro, sans bacon and quail egg. It was delicious, but even with the more intense determination, I could only finish off about 60% of the burger. I was also a fan of the french fries with fried hot dog pieces. I'm not sure what kind of sauce was on top of it, but I could have used some more of it. So simple, yet so delicious! This was my first time venturing into the world of Colombian fast food and it did not disappoint. La Moon is quality fast food indulgence at it's best!

Came here after watching the episode of men vs food with Adam Richman. I came specifically for the La moon Hot dog, but i really didn't have high expectation coming in here for a hot dog, after all it is a traditional colombian hot dog with some extra goodies on it. My feeling were right, the hot dog was like every other one i've had and maybe a bit inferior :( one of the sauce that was put on the hotdog had sort of an old greasy not sure how to describe it, but the point is that it was not a pleasant taste. My wife had the burger and it was just ok too, nothing great. The service and staff were very good and nice. Not sure if i would go back to this place.

So I just woke up... The food won... I had the chicken breast that comes with the green plantains and rice and beans. That was lunch. . This was my first time there. I'll be back this weekend for dinner. The food is for lack of a better word - phenomenal. In a town that has a Resturant on every corner, I have to give this place 5 stars. The selection on the menu is so wide I think I'm going to start from left and work my way across throughout the rest of the year. I'm not exaggerating when I say everything on the menu looks awesome. It's one of those restaurants where everybody asks everybody else around them "what is that"... Everything looks good... If my meal is any example, i'm assuming everything tastes great as well. AND they're open until 6am?! winner winner chicken dinner. Try it ... I'll expect to see your review here soon ! It's that good.

This would be a minus star for me if yelp had it. -* With so many mixed reviews, thought we would go for a simple reasonable dinner last night. Mind you I am not very familiar with Columbian cuisine. When we entered it was small, nothing to really see (decor) but no biggie. Let's just order some food and eat! Started with Calamari, meh, hard, overcooked, deep fried to a crisp. Awful! The waitress was nice and kept asking what we wanted to drink besides water. My husband and I noticed two big signs that said Happy Hour 2 for 1 inside the restaurant, each one posted on separate walls. Normally, not a place I would order wine but she told me they had a Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, so I thought yeah, why not 2 for 1 right??? Hubby ordered a Heineken. Unto dinner: Simple Grilled Chicken with rice, beans, and fried plantain. Figured I could not go wrong. Plantains were old and hard, could not even eat. Rice was o.k. and the chicken was way to dry and hard to cut because it was so dry. Hubby ordered the Chicken Marsala- with pasta and mushrooms, so of course we had to switch so I could eat. It was good with decent flavor. Now the kicker, our waitress came back and said can I get you another glass of wine and beer for hubby. So we figured two for one, sure why not. Check came and tip was automatically added 18%, no problem there. $75 what???? AAAGGGHHH, $30 plus tip for two glasses of wine and two beers.....We could not find our waitress, so hubby asked another waitress why we did not get charged for Happy Hour. O.K. Get this, she LAUGHED very loudly and said " oh everyone gets confused, ha ha ha the sign's our for our location in Coral Gables." So, I get up to look at the signs and sure enough it has the address of the Coral Gables location. WHAT???? Our waitress finally comes over to collect our money and we tell her how misleading the signs are, and she should have told us. She smiled and said " oh sorry, everyone thinks that" Hubby wanted to take the tip off of our bill, but I said she is just doing her job and lead by an obvious crook......... Have you ever been to dinner and felt "RAPED" that is how I felt. Misleading marketing tactics really piss me off. I was so upset over our $75 dinner that was so non descript, that we came over to Manny's and had a glass of wine to calm me down from being ripped off and raped!!! Never, ever again......

We have been to La Moon probably 30 times, and while the service is ALWAYS extremely slow, the food is always very good and cheap for Brickell. If you live in the area, I recommend delivery. They are always really fast and it is sometimes faster than if you went in to sit down. We have tried the bandeja paisa, the supermoon perro, the supermoon arepa, and some of the specials. I wouldn't reccomend ordering anything other than one of the hamburgers or hot dogs, as this is really what they are known for. The salchipapas are really good, too. For Perros Colombianos and Arepas, La Moon is great, as long as you go knowing what to expect. The prices are great, about $6 for a huge hot dog or hamburger, another $6 for a portion of Salchipapas (french fries, fried sausage, and special sauce) enough for at least three people. Great after-club hangout or for a cheap weekend lunch. Parking is minimal, so finding a place to park down the street, or walking from your building, is the best option.

Best Colombian Hot Dogs!! If you are hungry in the middle of the night and you want to have something fast and delicious this is the place. I love the Pineapple sauce that they have, try this sauce over everything! (hot Dogs and hamburguers) Their prices are good also.
