Average food, the classic Peruvian dishes and decent prices. That makes it worth 3 stars. Service is rude, two girls with no experience, not interested in making a good tip, careless and deserves no stars. Also, the place charges tip in your bill, but the credit card slip comes with a field for tip and not for "Additional Tip", imagine that they don't deserve the mandatory tip, I would never leave an additional one. Be careful with that.

Getting worse every time I go. The shrimp wantons had NO SHRIMP. It was basically fried dough. Even the canchita was bad... I used to come all the time and lately it's been empty and even the sign on the outer wall is completely damaged I thought they had gone out of business. The staff seems surprised I actually went inside to pick up food. The ceviche was ok but the portion was really pathetic for the price I paid. This place probably won't last much longer and it's sad to see them go this way

Food's alright - Double-check your check! Tip was included originally, and then the credit card receipt still has a space for more - but they don't bring you back the original check that shows it was included. Hate it when restaurants try this scam.

I was positively referred to this place and that is why I went. The place has nice decoration, good spot, easy to park and the food is OK (not bad but I have had better of this kind). What really disappointing was the service, seriously... not one smile, pushy to have us order, spoke only Spanish (although I brought an Asian friend over), didn't offer the check just brought it to us the minute we finished eating, I don't think I am going to go back any time soon.

I had a ceviche that was 17 dollars. It was good but I would have rather paid less as others have.they're also not generous with the appetizers up front.

Good option for a lunch menu during weekdays, good cebiche for a good price. Servica can be better...

Bad Ceviche. Good Causa. Bad Wine. .333 only looks good in baseball.

At first, since I was new in town, I thought this was my only option for some ceviche or tiradito, so I put up with a lot of crap. The ambience is unimpressive at most, and service can be sloppy even though the place is rather small. Prices are steep considering the value you get, and also considering those are the same prices you would pay for superior food somewhere else. The food itself is not bad, but is not excellent either, and if you want to be really picky, it is likely to be served in plates that do not even match. I'm not too demanding, but If you are going to charge 15 bucks for a meal, you might as well pay some attention to details. Bottom line is, if you are looking for peruvian, I recommend you keep looking, there are better options, like Ceviche 105 in Downtown or even Gran Inka in Key Biscayne.

I REALLY like their ceviche here. Very fresh, always tasty. Also a big plus, the lunch specials are like $7. The seco de res here is very good, as are the other dishes. The chicharones de pescado are ok, not a huge fan. But everything else tasted just like it does in Lima. I would give it 5 stars IF they improved the drink service (fountain sodas instead of cans + water refills more frequently). I really want to give them 4.5 stars.

I was brought here by a co-worker that is Peruvian and said it was good. This was the first place I tried Jalea and I was hooked from then on. If you don't have time to wait for the Jalea order the Chicharron de Pescado which is close. Lomo Salteado is also good but not as good as the Jalea. Watch out with the spicy sauces they bring to the table. If you are not used to really spicy foods they are going to hurt.

I came here for lunch and I was able to take advantage of the reasonably priced Peruvian lunch specials (everything in the daily special was less than $10). The ambience was nice and colorful. It was decently (2/3) filled with people and it looked well-staffed. A friend of mine and I had ordered ceviche de pescado and chicharrones de pescado. Our meal came with a soup (the type escapes me at the moment, but there were chunks of beef, corn and rice bits(?)). The soup was flavorful and decent.. The fish ceviche was decent as well. The chicharrones de pescado came out to be something like thin fish fingers. They were kinda soggy and bland. I didn't enjoy it as much as the ceviche. And an extra small bowl of plain white rice costed $2 was unjustified. Service was the worst. Our waiter was Christian, and I hope it was an isolated incident. But it was a travesty. My friend had spilled water and we had used up all our napkins cleaning the table up. The lump of wet napkins went by unnoticed for a while, even AFTER the waiter served us our meals after the incident. Obviously, you can imagine my surprise. An empty glass of water, a lump of wet napkins, no fresh clean ones to use, and a still wet table - and the waiter just brings food and leaves? I waited 5 minutes for any action - and frankly there was none! Just for that extremely poor service, my further impression of the restaurant went further downhill - to the point that I had to be the one to refill our water thanks to the pitcher standing nearby. I also had to take the damp big lump of napkin to the counter, and I had to wave the waiter down for the refill (I should have kept the pitcher after refilling the water). Furthermore, 15% of the tip is already included in the bill. Travesty, indeed.

My husband and I absolutely love this place. For one it's consistent, you get the same great quality every time you go. Secondly the food is fantastic, perfectly seasoned and overall addictive. I usually order their tiradito to start then either a pollo saltado (hello how can you not love something stir-fired with french fries?) or their chicken & steak chaufa (like fried rice, but so much better). Their jalea is gigantic and more than enough for 3-4 people. The staff is sweet, the chef/owner is usually walking around making sure your food is ok.

Great ceviche and a hefty portion as well. Lunch specials are good. We had a Suspiro Limeno for dessert which is a dulce de leche with a whipped cream and it was delicious. Would definately come back here.

I ordered the stuff clams with scallops for $12.99 and the shrimp wantons for $8.99. With delivery and tip I paid $35. I recieved 5 clams with cheese stuck to it so hard I had to use a knife to peel it off. The scallops were the size of green peas and there was only 1 per clam. The shrimp wantons were like 8 Doritos. I honestly think that between the 8 shrimp wantons that I even ate 1 whole shrimp collectively. They took 1 single shrimp and cut it up into 8 pieces and put em on each wanton. Even the delivery guy looked worried when he gave me the food. I've worked in a restaurant and if Gordon Ramsey went here, it would be death by a thousand cuts for the "chef."

4/2010 update - what is up with the service lately? It's bad enough it went from warm bread to crackers a while back, but don't let me down. Still has the best jalea in town and ceviche..but PLEASE, don't let me down anymore!! I don't want to think that great big heart and passion that gave us great service and outstanding food when you first opened is fizzling away. Remember how you started, and why you are where you are now. __________________________________ Been coming here since before they had tables and chairs. Good Ceviche and Tiradito. Nice portioned Jalea, Pescado a lo Macho, a la Chorrillana and decent lunch specials. I've met the family who runs the restaurant on several occasions for many years, since we live close by and frequent it every now and then. They're very kind people and always courteous enough to take the time to come out and say hello -- even if we haven't eaten there in months!

Best Ceviche, you gotta try it.Too many Peruvian places serve variations to attract interest and forget that the original was is and will always be the best! If you are ever near down town Miami stop by you will be happy you did.

The worst food and service ever. I will never go back to this place. They wanted to charge $3 for a little cup of canchita... And when I go to Ceviche 105 you can get as much as you want at no cost. The manager was very rude. This place was definitely the worst experience ever.

I wish I could do NO star! Arghhh Since we live close and wanted to have a low key night we decided to try this place because we always drive by. Anyhoo, worst decision ever!! Food was bad, service was even worse. They acted like we were bothering them! The quality of the seafood was decent, but I really wasn't crazy about the sauces except for the ones on the table.
