My friends and I went on a Groupon for one of the ladies' birthday. The waitress we had was not very knowledgeable about the menu and took over 20 minutes to get water and 20 more to settle our bill. The food was nice but thought with a "tea party" we would have been able to sample more teas not just the one we originally picked out. Will think twice about going back.

thanks to my better half's suggestion through careful research, we came to check out this place and what a wonderful gem of a find! it's located inside this wonderful old world nostalgia block of wonderland called cauley square (US1 & 224 St) in the middle of a modernized industrial society all around... this one is a must do! travel back in time and find yourself looking at all that adorns every nook and cranny of this wonderful place! they have this spiced home-made tea infused w lemonade served hot that you must try! I mixed mine w hot jasmine tea and it was awesome. we ordered spinach eggs benedict but you can substitute the spinach w ham, turkey or smoked salmon to your liking plus a side of home fries, oatmeal, or fruits. the food was good and the service was great. noelia was our server and she was attentive and helpful in every aspect even though the place got packed towards the end of our meal. the restroom is nice and overall clean and even had a full sized mirror by the door on the way to help make sure you look your best before heading back out to your table. the place is full of interesting nostalgia and even old style singer sewing machines repurposed as side tray tables and even dining tables for two. if you happen to sit in a smaller table for two be sure to look under the linen! i am not much for old style china and decor but even a minimalist will find this place interesting and humbling so come in and have a cup of hot tea and enjoy a sandwich or hot meal! cheers!

On a Thursday afternoon my wonderful mother invited me over to Cauley Square's Tea Room for some late lunch. We made a reservation for 2pm for a simple tea party. The hostess gave us a call 15 minutes prior to remind us about it, which was very sweet. When we arrived, I was taken aback by the beautiful building. It is just so cute outside, and even better inside. The decorations create a really nice, intimate setting. The ambience is quiet and makes you feel very much a home. As soon as we came inside, our table was already ready and set up for us. When we sat, our waitress immediately filled our water cups and warmed up the water for our tea. Once the water was ready, she came with a box to let us choose our tea bags. After that, we were served a plate of a delicious, warm split pea soup. Even though I do not like soup, it was very rich and I very much enjoyed it. About 15 minutes after the soup, our finger sandwiches arrived with scones and four slices of quiche. The quiche was very good, but too salty for my taste. Though, the sandwiches and the scones were absolutely delicious! So moist and soft. I think I will be dreaming about those scones! This place is definitely an experience, and I really loved all the details. The food is actually really good and I loved the quiet ambience. However, though the service is really attentive and friendly it can be a bit slow. As well, I was a bit disappointed that they do not actually brew their own tea being a tea house. Regardless, it was a wonderful afternoon with he number one woman in my life! By the way, on the way out I caught glimpse of a huge, fudgey chocolate cake. I most definitely will be back to try a slice!

I fell in love with this tea room! Great experience and the staff is wonderful. We had the high tea tiers and it was delicious! Plenty to share for our table of five and the food was served on time and absolutely scrumptious! I can't rave enough about this place. But come early! Our reservation was for 11:30 am and no one was there which was nice since we felt like we had the place to ourselves.

My hubby had been asking me to take him to a "romantic" restaurant and I chose this one! He was very happy with it! Place is very nicely decorated with antique furniture and items. They have several separate rooms so it's a great place to host parties. We had a groupon that was for lunch for 2. We had the french onion soup which we were told if made freshly each day! It was delicious!!! We had mimosas, different finger sanwiches some made of cream cheese and salmon, egg salad, cucomber, ham and cheese, grilled veggies, we had muffins and scones. They had a good selection of teas but could add more and some home brewed ones to their list. All was very good! We were very lucky that besides having a great meal we had great service by Noelia! After lunch we walked around the area and found nice stores and art galleries!

I've been to this place any times over the years. I went on Saturday with my sister and was so disappointed in the food and the service. We were told by our waitress that another company had bought them out and that's why their menu had changed some. For some reason offering a hamburger in a tea room just doesn't seem right! We ordered a chicken salad croissant . I think they made one sandwich, cut it in half and put half on each of our plates. The service was so slow that when it came time for us to get our check, I actually got up to go searching for our waitress. And the place wasn't even busy. Glad I went since we were planning on doing our Mother's Day celebration there. Not going to happen

This place is thankfully under new management and open for breakfast on the weekends. Freshly brewed coffee is always good! Will be visiting again to check the lunch menu! Also noticed the home made deserts are back!

A pretty big tea room in the Redlands area. Kinda musty atmosphere, but with friendly staff and in a pretty cute (in an old fashioned way) environs that makes you feel like you're in Old Florida.

I had a delicious lunch here today. The place doesn't look like a great restaurant from the outside. Inside it is decorated tip to toe in Victorian patterns and artifacts. The food was really well prepared and very fresh. The French fries were one of the best I ever had. The piece of chocolate cake I ordered was very fudgy, really big piece, and came with a side of whipped cream. I would have given this Tea House five stars if there were more than two kinds of tea available. Nevertheless , I recommend this place for lunch because the food was great and the menu had a good mixture of beef, chicken, seafood and vegetarian selections. After lunch, walk down the street to visit the artist shops, they have some innovative and inexpensive items.

Under new mgmt-Horrible dining experience-Prices & menu the same but definitely corners are being cut, Onion soup, Quiche -not the same as before & What tea room doesn't announce "no cream cheese" BEFORE serving the order-My daughter got the bread with nothing on it-PLUS they were on the same plate as the soup so soggy sandwhiches to boot--NEVER,NEVER AGAIN

Good place for weddings and parties. Very old town looking. Food is ok and a bit expensive. Good to visit and a cool night and hang out.

I love this place! You turn off US1 and it's like a different world when you go into the little block that is Cauley Square. The Tea Room is delightful; a very frilly, charming place decorated with antiques and beautiful things. The food, I think, is delicious. I had finger sandwiches and a dish of the best ambrosia I have ever had. My friend had a beautiful salad -- dark greens with a large avacado half in the center of it. In the avacado was tuna fish -- the presentation was wonderful. The service was very good. There is a room with these beautiful desserts. I had the coconut cake, which was delicious. The red velvet cake was delicious also (I brought a piece home - I am not such a hog that I ate 2 desserts!). It's a great little, quaint place.

I have to say Cauley Square is one of my favorite places for any occasion being, family, date night, girls get together, baby showers, weddings, nature bike ride/walk etc.. NIGHT OR DAY! It's a historical hidden nature paradise! The owner Frances has always treated so very kind, warm n welcoming! Everyone we have invited to Cauley Frances has gone out of her way to welcoming them. Everyone always wants to return. She is a TRULLY extraordinary professional and hard working woman! UNDOUBTEDLY I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Walking into this place is like walking into your grandmothers dining room. Doilies everywhere, mismatched chairs at every table, little tiffany lamps all over. It's darling. I had a snack here with some girlfriends once, we ordered a little platter of finger sandwiches. Everything was adorable. The servers were polite and diligent, the food was fresh, and the experience as a whole was absolutely charming. It is quite a drive from where I live... but it's a nice place to take a day trip to see every once in a while. Nice to distance yourself from the normal hussle and bussle of the city and just take it easy for an afternoon.

Go for the Spiced tea ... maybe dessert ... avoid the food. Wow, we went as a group of 13 on a Sunday afternoon. We were sitting for almost a half hour after we ordered our food and still had not received our food. We had to ask for bread or rolls, and then our food come out (we all ordered cold food, except for some ordered soup). One person ordered a turkey sandwich, but her "turkey" was pink ... and smelled like ham. I ordered a wrap with no tomatoes and cole slaw. My wrap had tomatoes. The waitress offered to take it back, but I just pulled them out of the wrap. But they came with french fries, instead of cole slaw. She apologized and said she would being me some slaw. The fries were under cooked. When she finally brought the cole slaw, it tasted buttery. We think it was actually potato salad and not cole slaw. Either way it was nasty. And for a "tea room", someone ordered tea, and she brought out tea box full or bags I could have bought at Publix. You think a Tea Room would brew their own tea. The Spiced Tea, which they claim is their own special blend, was the best thing on the menu. so go for the Spiced Tea, or maybe the dessert, but skip the main course.

Tea Room, not that great. Food so so, you can avoid their orange House tea. Lime a mix of dirty water

When I was little my family would frequent this place for the quaint atmosphere, quiche and homemade desserts. It became our "family" day place. Well, ten years later we finally went back to reminisce on a place we held so dear to our hearts, but were saddened by the unfortunate changes. It appeared to be the same place we remembered with it's vintage charm and painted walls, but the food and service were not the same. First of all, I think there were a total of about 4 other people in the restaurant. I thought, "Oh good not a lot of people are here! That's better for me because I'm starving and we'll get our food faster." Boy was I wrong. I'm not sure why but it took the waiter a while to take our orders, serve the food AND bring the check. By the time we were done, no one was in the restaurant. Still unsure as to why everything took long. Anyways, on to the food. I got the spinach quiche which was a huge slice, ONE plus from my entire visit. The taste was just okay. Nothin' special. Again, we frequented this place over ten years ago because it was our family day place, what did I know about flavors and food as a little kid?! (Obviously not much) My sister ordered a BLT which was okay with a side of fries, but they ran out of fries. Who runs out of fries? Can someone not slice potatoes and throw them in the fryer to improvise for a customer? All these years I had this concept in my mind thinking this place rocked my world, but I now see that this was based on my nostalgic family memories. I don't see myself going back unless changes are made. At the end of the day, everything took longer than it should have and I was not impressed with the new ownership. If the place were better kept and the food was of better quality I'm sure this place would be a gem because of it's charm and unique atmosphere.

My wife and I stopped for lunch recently and got a couple of sandwiches which were pretty good. The place was very well set out with white table cloths and napkins. It's a very nice location under large trees. The wait person was very attentive and professional. We were the only ones there at 12:30 on a Friday. We've been there several times in the past and plan to go again.

What a disappointing experience! Wait staff was rude and didn't speak English. This place must have changed owners as it USED to be wonderful. Table linens were dirty, food was served incorrectly, and they were out of everything - including thousand island dressing and sour krout for the turkey rueben sandwiches they charge $10.95 for! They were out of chicken nuggets that my 8 yr old niece wanted and told us after a full 1/2 hour they could substitute them with ambrosia and french fries! They charged $10 for this! Potato salad was not right either. Spoiled? Not sure, but not edible. Bathroom was dirty, with the roll of toilet paper on the floor and no soap in the soap dispenser! Desserts were Sara Lee quality. I will NEVER come here again and do not recommend it.

the stars are for the old lady charm. the waiter was an idiot who did not listen to anything we said. the cook must have been on crack. on a $9.00(!) tuna sandwhich, she heavily mayoed each side of the bread! disgusting! mayo on mayo on mayo! she heavily mayoed the turkey sandwhich on both sides as well. i asked for toasted bread, got the oppisite. they sugared both our teas, we asked for no sugar. go for a slice of cake, denny's has better food.

Went to Cauley square tea room on one of the coldest and rainy day of Miami. That might have been my first mistake but I figured a tea room would help warm me and contain my hunger. I ordered coffee ( I know, I know coffee in a tea room but I needed my fix and the tea selection just wasn't cutting it). So my friend had tea and the selection was minimal but I guess I shouldn't be expecting a Teavanna. For some eats, we both ordered the French onion soup with finger sandwiches. The soup was pretty good but the finger sandwiches I just couldn't finish. There was an egg salad sand which, banana bread w creme, and some other varieties w the soup. Overall the tea room was an ok outing but next time I'll go for a different dish. Btw, the overall decor reminded me of those haunted houses w porcelain dolls and plates all around. Guess it's old Florida??

Love this. Absolutely loved this. Adorable little tea room in the Cauley Square village of Homestead. Very historic feel to the place. The food was very good (they don't serve you a tremendous amount, but it's enough to satisfy you), they have a spiced house tea (you can enjoy it hot or iced) which is to DIE for, and once you're done with your meal, you can walk over to the dessert table and see if there's anything you'd like (I had bread pudding and enjoyed it very much). The staff are very welcoming and gracious, adding to the old school feel of the place. They also have really lovely and relaxing piano music playing as you enjoy your meal. Can't wait to go back again and hopefully have a chance to visit the other businesses (other cafes and cute little shops) in Cauley Square.
