As other reviewers have pointed out their Honey Garlic Chicken is great I also enjoy the egg rolls. Portion size is large enough for me to have some left over for lunch the next day. Delivery is fast. I recommend this place highly.

I've been ordering from here for 8 years, best Chinese food in the West Kendall area. My kids love the Honey Garlic Chicken as do the parents. Good portions, fresh foods, they deliver. I usually order to go, haven't eaten inside.

Know the owner for years. True chinese cooks which says a lot. Food is fantastic and the service is great. Orange chicken is one of the best. Hot and sour soup full of substance! Fast delivery. highly recommend.

Four of us went here for lunch and the consensus was that this place is ordinary. No one thought the food was anything special, even compared to other chinese restaurants in kendall. They even charged two dollars extra to get white rice. I am not sure why our experience was so different from that of everyone else who reviewed this place.

The best Chinese food i've ever had in my 29+ years, in suburban Miami of all places. The beef fried rice was perfect, actually had quality beef and plenty of green onion and bean sprouts. The egg rolls were crackalicious as well, plenty of meat and shrimp inside just awesome. The crab rangoon actually had crab and not the overpowering taste of cream cheese. And the won ton soup was money, and I don't care for wonton so that's saying a lot. But the main dish is what I occasionally have withdrawals for, the Honey Garlic Chicken. Can't find this in the Chi, the chicken is fried to perfection and there is an urn of sweet, garlicky, orgasmic, and saucy goodness. And the prices are inexpensive as well and the owners are the nicest people. Might have to move to Miami just for this place, it's that damn good!

small family owned chinese restaurant that offers really tasty food and good service. if you call and place an order for carryout it only takes 15 to 20 minutes so, its supper fast. they offer a large menu with a variety of soups, noodles, fried rice etc. also its great since, if ever you have a lot of people at your house and you want to order food just go here and get a Jumbo fried rice it will feed plenty of people. if you are ever in the neighborhood go in try the Crab Rangoon its my favorite.

ive been coming here for years, about all 21 years of my life. when i think of delicious chinese food i come here. i love the special fried rice and honey chicken. ive basically have had everything here and have never complained about or disliked any of the dishes. most portions are sharing size, cant beat it for the quality and price. TIP: if ur getting it delivered/take out ask for the house duck sauce and spicy mustard.

The food is better when you dine in, rather than ordering delivery. The server was very sweet, and the food is tasty. The fried rice is a little bland, but the fried dumplings are great.

Fried dumplings, Honey Garlic chicken and General's chicken were all very good. Rice was very tasty. Pieces of meat were not "mystery meat", but large chunks of white meat chicken.

Canton Star has always been my go to place. It really is the best place in the west Kendall area. I have been ordering from here for years. I've tried several different take out spots in the area, but none have compared. The chicken fried rice always comes fresh. My son who is generally a picky eater absolutely loves the rice. The wonton soup is delicious. What impresses me is that they give you like 5 wontons in the soup as oppose to other restaurants that give you 2 wontons and a bowl of broth. The kids love the honey chicken and the sweet and sour chicken. The breading is just the right amount. Not too much batter and mostly chicken. The spring rolls and egg rolls are delicious. My husband enjoys the beef and broccoli. Prices are extremely affordable. There is a $12 minimum for delivery. The service is really good. The food always arrives in a timely fashion. The driver is always the same driver and has come to know our family. All in all its a great place for Chinese food. I can only rate the delivery and not the dine-in experience.

We started with dim sum & steamed dumplings. Both were pretty good, but left a little to be desired on the sauce. To clarify, we had plain soy sauce & duck sauce available to eat with our appetizers. We usually have a soy sauce based hoisin type sauce with these appetizers. We had Mongolian beef, Szechuan vegetables, & sesame chicken with pork fried rice. The beef was a little on the chewy side. The other entrees were great.

Canton Star: Blending Chinese Cuisine with Modern Casual Atmosphere Interior: - Waiting Area: Small, yet accommodating with some chairs. [4.0/5.0] - Dining Area: Some would call it "compact", yet I perceive it as a "space-saver". Despite the paltry wads of dried gum from under some of the tables, the neatness and decorum of the room is reasonably appealing to the eye; just toss in some casual music from an FM radio station, and you have a recipe for a casual environment. Unfortunately, cellular signal is prone to interference in some areas, that it can bring awkwardness to a simple call or text. [4.2/5.0] - Bathroom: Decent with white tiles, yet it's sufficiently roomy enough for a urinal and a toilet, save a washbasin per each one. Hygienic standards are at an all-time high, even for employees. [4.1/5.0] Meal: - Very satisfying, especially when the options for condiments (including soy sauce) are present. And don't get me started on the fortune cookie to finish off a good meal. [4.7/5.0] Service: - Staff: Most friendly, since they are customer-oriented and very accurate in taking a guest's order. [4.8/5.0] Final Judgement: In all my years of casual dining, I have never seen the near-perfect Chinese restaurant in all of West Kendall until now. The positive Yelp reviews on this restaurant are no exaggeration; they took the words right out of my mouth! If I were to conduct business deals in a relaxed atmosphere, then Canton Star would sooner or later have its place in the sun. Final Score: 4.36 out of 5.0

Came in at 9:20pm, the places closes in 40 minutes. They tell me "we close at 10pm, sorry." Uhhh yes, and that's in an almost hour. How rude! Don't think I've ever been to a place that does this. Maybe if we got there with 20 minutes to spare... Oh well. No second chances.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Miami. I accidentally came across this place while in publix plaza. The prices are unbelievably cheap for the volume and quality of the food. The dumplings are easily the best I have ever had. The egg rolls were perfect. They had a great flavor and the ingredients INSIDE the egg roll were amazing. The Wonton soup was good. I had my favorite chinese meal, Schezuan Beef. It was out of this world. The price made me thing it would be tough, poor quality beef but it was surprisingly tender. The final item we tried was the beef and broccoli. Another very well put together dish. I will say the shock of having their main office in the middle of the restaurant went from odd at first to kind of cool at the end of the night. A fantastic place for chinese food.

The orange chicken was very good--they actually use white meat chicken!!. Their spicy dishes are not spicy at all though. Egg rolls are filled with chicken. They give you very big portions and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it!

I have been eating at Canton Star since I was a kid. Besides publix they are the oldest business in the shopping center.. That says a lot! They have the best Chinese food. They never fail, everything is always on point! I love the shrimp fried rice, honey garlic chicken, crab rangoon & egg roll.. Yumm

This is the best Chinese food I've had in a very long time, second only to some I had in San Francisco's Chinatown! the Sesame Chicken was heavenly, the egg rolls amazing, and the portions very generous; finally, good Chinese in Miami! Thank you fellow Yelpers for recommending!

I forgot it was valentines day and went out for a quick bite after a long day of work. Most places had queues out the door and I was pleasantly surprised when I fond out this place did not have any. I guess the restaurant is your casual family dinner place, not your romantic destination. They did have heart balloons all over the tables, though. The waitress was efficient and friendly, the service was very quick and the food delicious - all for a very reasonable price! I super recommend them.

I have been coming here on and off for the past couple of years and never have had a bad experience. They are a small eat in and take out restaurant. The staff is very friendly and quick with service. The have an extensive Manu and lunch/dinner specials. You need to bring a big appetite or some to share as their portions are very generous.the egg rolls, the lo mein and the honey garlic chicken are among my favorites. Kid friendly, parking accessible from the strip mall and seating area inside. Prices are decent.

I don't think i'll have canton star again. Didn't like the attitude of the delivery guy, if you have a business you're supposed to treat your clients in a polite way. The food wasn't that great. if you order the large rice, get ready to have a lot of food.

I gotta say I love this place. It's close to where I live. Great food. I can't complain.

This was the first time that we use this restaurant. We picked up our food and brought home to eat. The Young lady that attended us was very personable, polite, & very nice. We ordered shrimp and vegetables with tofu added & wonton soup. The wonton soup was very good. The dish was just okay the white sauce to me was kinda plain. Restaurants self cleaned and clean and we will most definitely use this restaurant again in our neighborhood.

I was highly impressed by this little Chinese joint. Everything I ordered (Honey Garlic Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, & Crab Rangoon) was VERY good! You could tell that these people take pride in their business and the quality of their food. Good Food + Good Service = Best Chinese in Kendall!

The most consistent and highest quality Chinese restaurant in West Kendall. I have given others a try over the years but none of the others compare. My family and friends always appreciate the recommendation when I send them here. Exceptional fried rice, chicken dishes, soups always taste fresh and they deliver. Highly recommend!

I was in the mood for Chinese food and after calling a 2-3 other restaurants to see if they accepted Discover cards, I found that Canton Star did! I ordered Honey Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, Wonton Soup, Crab Rangoon, and an egg roll. Basically a feast. everything was delicious and the delivered the food to my house within 20 minutes so my hungry tummy wasn't complaining! i recommend this place highly! You can easily feed 3 people with a dinner combination.

After looking at a few Chinese places on yelp I decided to take a chance on this one. I ordered take out and the delivery service was on time. The food arrived hot and fresh. The special fried rice was DELICIOUS along with the honey garlic shrimp, the egg rolls and the egg drop soup. I will definitely be ordering from here again

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
