New favorite place. Stopped in for a late lunch, and was most pleasantly surprised at the new and welcoming decor. (Found out there is a new owner who's only been there for 9 months.) They serve breakfast (any time), lunch, and dinner with extensive choices in each category. Our server welcomed us at the door and was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. My husband had the Italian Stallion, and I had the Gyro - both were delicious and large portions. We sprung for dessert too, (a seldom known pleasure), but after finding out they were all made in-house by the chef's wife we couldn't resist. Hubbie had the tiramisu and I had to stop him from licking the plate. But I had this brilliant thing called Gala Buriko. It's phyllo dough filled with a very light vanilla custard with warm cinnamon & orange syrup poured over it. It was a huge portion and I thought for sure I would have plenty to take home - did not happen, I ate the whole thing. Nick, the owner/chef, came out to the table to introduce himself and ask if we enjoyed our food - nice touch - and as we were leaving we noticed him checking in on some of the other folks. All in all it was a lovely, serendipitous surprise and we will certainly be going back.

Had dinner last Saturday. Waitress really lovely. Food okay, but found it very odd that you couldn't choose the doneness of your prime rib...? The problems came later. We ordered the scallops, which tasted good, but resulted in some severe "tummy troubles" a few hours later. It would take a miracle for me to go back. Try DIGS across the street!

I've got to disagree with Michael M.'s tip about them "not shinning for breakfast." I've been here twice so far and my better experience was actually better when I came for breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, they only serve their breakfast items during breakfast and lunch time. I was informed by my waiter that the kitchen is not large enough to handle serving serving breakfast food during dinner time. So to start off with my first experience here, it was definitely a five-star experience. I got the breakfast sandwich on a bagel and it came out perfectly. The waitresses were all very nice and the food came out pretty quickly considering that they were busy when we got there. The atmosphere of the place is very nice. They really remodeled and there's a lot of marble all over the place. Also, make sure to look up at the ceiling at the stars and galaxies (you'll get what I when you come here!). Unfortunately, my second experience here, which was for dinner, was not as good which led me to make this a 4-star review. I would say that at most the place had half the tables full at any given time when I was here. The first negative was that I was planning on getting my breakfast sandwich again but when I ordered I was then told that breakfast was not served during dinner time. I was annoyed by that because they have one menu for everything and it does not say that breakfast isn't served during dinner time. And also, it's a diner, isn't the point of a diner is to have breakfast all day? I ended up getting the hummus and pita bread appetizer and the grilled cheese and a side of fries for my main meal. The issue with the hummus is that they give so much hummus but then I feel not enough pita bread. Then with my grilled cheese I specifically asked for cheddar cheese instead of American cheese but I'm 90% sure it still tasted like American. The side of fries I got I must say were very good though. Also, the person who I was with ordered the veal Parmesan (they have some Italian items on the menu) but ended up getting the chicken Parmesan. Getting the chicken instead of the veal was the waiter's fault because the receipt said chicken. I also want to clarify that the waiter was at no time mean, nor was any staff member mean at either time I've eaten here so far. I must say though that the waiter kept having to apologize to us and all the other tables he had for random things like maybe he forgot to bring extra napkins, he forgot what you ordered and needed to come back to confirm, etc. To end on a positive note, they have a large selection of desserts. After dinner we had the cheesecake drizzled with chocolate syrup. That was great and they don't mess around with the size of the slice!

Came here for dinner. Nice decor and very friendly service. The food was very good and the portions very large. Plan on sharing a plate (extra charge) or taking a box of food home for another meal. The deserts looked wonderful, but we were too full to try them. Service was a touch slow for this type of restaurant, but not enough for me to lower the rating. We'll come back again.

My husband and I lived in Suntree for a year and never stepped foot in this diner following a slew of negative reviews. On our last weekend before we moved we decided to give it a try. Boy did we feel like jerks because we had a wonderful experience. The place was busy that day but we were greeted politely and accommodated as we had the baby in tow. I ordered the corned need hash benedict- it goes by another name though. Um, it was delicious! That was certainly not canned corned beef and I cannot tell you how I must of looked ravaging that dish. Our server was attentive and the ambiance is unique as large size pictures of outer space adorned the area we were sitting in- as a trekkie I cannot tell you how pleased I was. Anyway, now we live further away and have come back 3 times and so far zero complaints.

I had already been to this place once before and was craving the corned beef hash benedict - so we decide to go for a late breakfast. Both times our server has been very helpful and friendly as well as quick to refill our drinks and check on us. The corned beef hash benedict is amazing! My boyfriend got a breakfast meal with fluffy pancakes, bacon, eggs and a bagel! If you're looking for a tasty breakfast cafe - I'd recommend this one for sure

I came here for breakfast with my brother and sister and was very... underwhelmed. I'd come to this restaurant before, when it was named something else (...this was like 4 years ago and I can't remember what...,) so I can certainly say the place looks much better, both inside and outside. The decor is really lovely (which is hard to find in Melbourne, to be honest.) Our waitress was incredibly nice when taking our orders--she answered all of our questions enthusiastically, even though it was quite early in the morning. However, when my brother noticed and asked about the $3 sharing charge after we had ordered, the waitstaff kept an eerily close eye on our table. I personally ordered the Potato Pancakes, which came with Sour Cream and Applesauce. They were very... mediocre--bland, dry, and crumbly. There wasn't much flavor, and I had to borrow a lot of my brother's brown sugar from his oatmeal (only when the waitstaff wasn't WATCHING US LIKE HAWKS for sharing something as insignificant as sugar!) to make the applesauce / latkes taste decent. My sister ordered a bagel with cream cheese, only to get a burnt bagel with a very scant amount of cream cheese as well... the decent prices we paid for the food would have been well worth the portion size, if only the food was palatable. Overall, Time Square Diner has the chance to really be a gem in Melbourne due to its ambiance, especially with the lack of good breakfast/brunch places in the town. They just need to substantially increase the quality of their food, and not make their customers uncomfortable. With a rival like D.I.G. right across the street, hopefully competition will make this happen.

Although the plate was very pretty the food itself was not worth going back for a repeat. The menu says deli sandwiches on the order of New York City's Carnegie Deli that was not the case. The rye bread was stale and the corned beef was thick and bland. It definitely did not taste like a Carnegie Deli sandwich. Their Monte Cristo is not what was expected either. Rather than being dipped in egg batter and fried it was meat between 2 pieces of French toast. We will not go back.

So far... Not so good. Definitely not kid friendly and not willing to make any menu adjustments for a child's meal. No child's menu either. We were bombarded the minute we walked in the door with questions galore. All this before we even sat down. Hopefully the food will redeem them somewhat...

I went in with friend last week around 8pm. We both had coffee and dessert. Wait staff were very nice. We had to walk to dessert case with waiter for him to tell us what desserts were there and to describe them. I had a greek dessert that was scrumptious. All desserts were made in house. I would appreciate a dessert menu.

The owners of this location had this space seriously remodeled. It is very nice with a mix of different themes you can find in many diners in NY, NJ, and CT. I especially like the clusters of stars hanging down from the ceiling. So we were promptly seated and our drink order taken. The server is very attentive which is nice but maybe a little too much in a hurry to take our order. Honestly we were taking our time and I was taking pictures and posting them. For lunch I ordered the special which consisted of an egg salad sandwich and a bowl of chili. My friend ordered the corned beef sandwich with fries. We enjoyed a refill which we didnt have to ask for which is always nice. Our lunch came in a reasonable amount of time. My egg salad was very tasty and served on a nice fresh roll. On the side were pickles and pickled tomatoes, both were great. The chili was tasty too which was a surprise because usually I dont find chili at restaurants to be very good. A welcome surprise indeed. Maybe some shredded cheddar instead of sliced cheese. For dessert I ordered what they called a greek pastry. It is a custard pastry wrapped in phyllo dough. Being a fan of custard I had to give it a try. Dang was it good! Flaky and custardy all perfectly prepared. All I can say is WOW! They will soon be offering dinner. Though what I experienced was a sandwich, chili, and dessert. They have gourmet dinner items like Paella Andalucia, Homemade Lasagna, and even Coq au Vin. If they do dinner like they do lunch we might have a hidden gem here. 5/9 Had my first dinner here. Everything was great. The lemon drop rice soup was very tasty. The salad with house dressing was nice. The pork tenderloin wss expertly cooked and full of delicious flavor. The coq au vin was surprising. The sauce was delicious and the chicken well cooked. The veggies and rice complimented the dish very well. For dessert I had a lemon cream cake with fruit and cream. It was nice and fresh. The cake was moist and the cream was fresh and tasty. A very happy ending.

Where should I start? I placed my order and was considering the chilli as well, but I'm a picky chilli eater, so I asked for a sample... I was told the chef does not do samples! Ummm... Okay... The table next to me ordered right after me and asked to get fries instead of something, and the server told them the chef does not allow substitutions. A could next to be got seated and told the server they had 4 more joining them... The server asked them to get up from the table and sit in the corner and wait for the other 4 people... Ummm... Half the restaurant was empty!!! Wtf?! Then when I'm done eating, I get my check, and after I paid, I was checking my emails... The server asked me to move bc they were on a wait! Wow! I've been in the restaurant business for over 10 years (management) and have never seen anything like this! Good luck staying open with that approach!
