Ignore any not-so-good reviews. It is what it is and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Two of us, ordering a Mediterranean Stromboli (ask for it, like a gyro made into a crisp roll) and a perfectly-done, tender and light chicken Marsala, ate well, enjoyed good, prompt, attentive service, and had enough to take home for another meal last night. Everything made fresh. This is a "typical"/"classical" NY/Italiana red-sauce place with he finesse of an interested, sought-after and experienced, personable chef -- ask for Tommy V -- that's been a local standard for a long time. Comfortable and quiet at 8PM on a Thursday, a crowd followed us in and the long line was handled smartly. The kitchen is orderly and clean the way that experienced cookers keep it. I'll go back to try the specialty dishes, driving almost 40 minutes, and YOU CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE and value. Don't go for "modern", go for GOOD. Grace approved this review. (I need to warn you -- anyplace we go is fun and romantic.) Mark PS -- -- Tommy V is an knowledgeable and experienced rock musician, too. The boy can sing!

Sarno pizza is a pretty typical piZza slice grindhouse catering to the school and call center located within the same plaza. If your looking for real food this place shouldnt be too high on the list. If your looking for a real quick stop to grab a hot slice of thin crust ( little ) cheese pizza , this is your place. It used to be a lot better .

Ordered a pizza to be delivered. It was a very decadent pie topped with lots of cheese, sausage and pepperoni. It was yummy but so greasy I felt sick afterwards. I may have ordered wrong!

I'm giving it an "A-OK" based on my most recent experience. I had probably eaten there a dozen times and had delivery about half of those times. I ordered a white pie (which I had before and was great) and just a regular cheese pie (Also had before - also great) but this time I don't know what happened! It took AN HOUR AND A HALF for me to get my pizza and by the time I got it it was ice cold and not good at all. It was greasy and just not good. It's such a shame because every other time it has been great!

Sarno Restaurant & Pizzaria is located in a nondescript (plain ) strip mall anchored by a C.O.R.A. healthcare facility. From the parking lot the stores in the strip mall including Sarno Restaurant don't look like much and the parking lot had very few cars at 1:00 p.m. on a weekday. Inside the restaurant was rather dark for a stip mall due to dark ceilings and tinted glass. The décor looked dated. I had the two slice special with a drink (ice tea) which was around $6.00. I was pleased that Sarno serves brewed Ice Tea, and was a good glass of "unsweet" with a lemon shortly after placing my order. Since I ordered slices, and they apparently had a pie serving slices ready when I arrived, I surprised that it took more than 10 minutes from the time I ordered until my slice of mushroom and slice of cheese arrived. The best reason for a restaurant to offer slices over cooking a small pie fresh to order is speed. If turnaround is over 10 minutes for slices ... you may as well get a fresh pie at a place that keeps their oven hot and their cooks and servers moving. While the quality of the tea was good my cup was empty by the time my slices arrived. I wish the waitress would have checked in with me to re-fill my glass and perhaps let me know that the slices would be coming shortly or even explain why the slices took to long. When the slices arrived, I was impressed that they had FRESH Mushrooms. So many pizza restaurants, including Brevard County's popular multi-location Bizzaro's use canned mushrooms which is a sad and usually rubbery compromise. While I was impressed with the mushrooms, I think the pizza maker must be a Bizzaro's alumni as the sauce was similarly sweet, and the crust was the same thinness and texture. The cheese on the pizza was of average quality at best. For Pizza in the Space Coast there are better options, and in this part of Melbourne, San Remo, has better piazza in while their décor is not fancy it brighter than the dark and drab Sarno Restaurant. I did not try the pasta. After reading a favorable review on another site I was hoping for a new addition to my Space Coast pizza repertoire but Sarno was fell short or the mark.

I judge this place solely on their pizza. If you like that New York pizza slice this is as close as you can get as far as I'm concerned. The owner takes great pride in his Pizza and he will make it any way you like it. In short a great slice..

This is a Great Pizza place. I haven't really tried to much of their other foods, but I've been getting slices of pizza here since I was a kid.

My daughters (10 & 3) found this restaurant while passing through Melbourne. We shared a large pizza with plenty left over and devoured the crispiest mozzarella sticks! Our server was very pleasant and friendly towards my girls and myself. The crust was a true New York style and delicious. Overall, I would say the food was very good and we would stop again if in the area at dinner time. On the other hand, I did not find anything extra-ordinary that I would make a special trip to experience again.

Meal started with wilted garden salad. Went downhill from there. Shrimp was frozen and then boiled to total flavorless pieces with pasta overcooked as well. Veal had grizzle and inedible. Seemed more like a greassy spoon than an Italian restaurant. Never coming back.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
