Our last visit here was very disappointing. We had decided to never come back but an associate told us they completely changed the food and decor. HUGE improvement! They knock down a wall and expanded the sushi bar. The food was very fresh the new decorations were beautiful the cost is a little bit more expensive but it was definitely worth the experience. The new sushi bar gives more variety to choose from and more freshness and much more colorful sushi to choose from . We cannot wait to go back again to enjoy more fresh sushi . The hot food was just about the same but the new sushi bar definitely made up for it.

I love sushi. It is one of my favorite foods and if I am going out for sushi I don't mind spending a bit of money. I went to Sakura because it came recommended by a friend. I went there with my husband and son on a Saturday evening. The decor is typical upper scale buffet, the wait staff is more attentive then most buffet staff though. The sushi choices were rather impressive. The portion sizes were okay- considering the price of the dinner buffet. I do not recommend going to Sakura if you are looking for hot-food though, the hot-food area was lack luster and everything was soggy. I did not have the habachi option myself but my husband said it was very good and the vegetables were tasty, opposed to the steamed vegetables featured on the hot bar. The key here is to stick to sushi and to be hungry since the dinner price is about 17-18 dollars an adult.

Clean. Good variety and good quality. And the price is very reasonable. I recommend this place.

The sushi wasn't all that good but the hot food was so good and the deserts were good to I would recommend this place

Love going there, wish it had more of the basic sushis, like California, avocado, or cucumber. You get what you pay for, it's not expensive but it tastes pretty amazing for around $15 during lunch time.

If you like Sushi this is the place to go to get the most for your money. They were constantly refreshing the buffet. There were lots of options to pick from. It all looked very fresh. As for the rest of the buffet, it left something to be desired. We went on a Sunday evening and there were only 3 other tables occupied which might have had something to do with the lack of appetizing hot options. Overall the restaurant was clean and the sushi buffet was very appealing.

I was of the same opinion that this place was a value for money restaurant, until I found a fried bug in my fried rice. Completely unacceptable! Bottom line don't take your food for granted, you get what you pay for. Don't forget to examine your food before you eat it!

  • Nicole R.

Mediocre. Most of the sushi seems to be pretty fresh, though the amount of fish in the rolls and on the nigiri pieces is seriously lacking. But, I suppose you get what you pay for. If you're in need of a sushi fix, and don't have a ton of money to spend, it'll do the trick.

20+ sushi and seafood selection, with lots of salad and regular Chinese nice location, definitely worth trying.

They had my bacon wrapped shrimp today, the service was good, even though they didn't refill my drink.they kept the plates clear. Nice and clean

This buffet has a great selection of sushi with about 15-20 different kinds. They are all delicious. The environment is nice with your typical Asian restaurant decor. Very clean and open with wonderful ambiance. The only reason I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the fact that this is the second time they were not ready for guests at opening time. Overall I really enjoyed the delicious food, friendly staff, and price.

Cleanest buffet I have been to. The selection of food is really great. Lots of sushi on the buffet, which my husband loved! All the fish was clearly fresh. Service is subpar, but it's a buffet so we really didn't need the waitress. She seemed to be rushing us. The fried rice and general Tao's is very good. None of the food looked like it had been sitting too long and was all made in small batches. Great price for the selection. We will be returning.

I was in the space coast area and was guided here by Yelp. The restaurant was on Highway 192 between I-95 and the coast. I had the dinner buffet which runs about 16 bucks. The sushi spread was awesome to me considering it's a buffet. That alone is worth the price of admission if you love sushi. The hot bar had the standard staples of fried rice sweet and sour chicken chicken wings eggrolls etc. I was pleasantly surprised to find stir fried Maine lobster there. The salad bar had some oysters and snow crab legs and that bowled me over. Needless to say I stuffed myself silly. They also had a Mongolian grill but I was too bloated to try it. Maybe next time because I will be back for sure.

I came here with my wife and dude we got sick. Only a couple times in my life have I got sick from food. Its really really really rare for me but this time it was undeniable. The food tasted good too but man I cant walk through those doors again. Even when we drive by Niki says "remember when we ate there" Im like "oh god no, dont remind me".

  • Jessica M.

This place is just okay at best. The crab legs were great, but they put a few out at a time. The oysters were also yummy. The Hibachi was great, too. Everything else is detestable. The sushi is bad. The spring rolls were gross. I had to spit the bit I took out. I don't think I will be back for the ticket price.

Just ate here and I'm writing this review while the memory of all good and bad things are fresh in my mind. Lunch at $8 and Dinner for $15 something is not a bad deal at all. as you would expect in buffet sushi, the rolls are not outstanding by any standard but it's sushi and it's cheap so one shouldn't complain. There is definitely a lot of variety. If you're in to nigiri then the Salmon and Tuna are good. Tilapia and Shrimp nigiri were dry indicating they've been sitting out for a while. I liked the Japanese roll. The salmon roll wasn't half bad either. The seaweed salad is pretty good. Not the best I've had but it is really good. There is a whole Chinese buffet line in the end too. Most of the items looked unappetizing so I didn't give it a try. The cream filled eclairs were nice. My issue were the sticky floors. My flip flops kept sticking to the floor and kept making this horrid sound. I am a full figured Midwestern girl so when people turn around to stare at me in skinny Florida it is always a turn off. Some old folk by the dessert case asked me if I knew what those little mini cakes are. Heck if I know, Not all non-white people are from China. Oh and the place is definitely run by Chinese people which is a little deceiving but it's cool bro.

Not your typical garbage Chinese buffet! Wonderful and fresh Japanese. Sushi is excellent. Large selection. Great service. Very clean!

Excellent sushi rolls. The staff is very happy to make special items. Great food, great value, great staff. Clean and the "Asian" ambiance is apparent. Ps. Hot tea is always free and it is exceptional at Sakura. Plus, the teapot is neat. Desserts, sushi, stir fry grill, soups, oysters, shrimp. You name it. Nom Nom

This place is not exactly a Japanese buffet - it's really a Chinese restaurant trying to masquerade itself off as a Japanese restaurant.; the Chinese characters on some of the restaurant fixtures (lamps in particular) gives it away, as well as the management. But don't get me wrong - the food here is AMAZING. And buffet is only $16 per person. My mom loaded up on seafood and I loaded up on sushi. The sushi was good, and three plates filled me up. Was it the best sushi I've had before? No. Was it the worst? Hell no. For the price, I was quite satisfied, and intend on coming back here again in the future.

  • MJ R.

All of the sushi rolls were REALLY good except fir the tempura shrimp roll. The tempura was soggy and it didn't taste like it was cooked right. The tempura vegetables were also not crispy. The Dragon fruit was very tasty.

Terrible! Sushi was not fresh. Lobster was garbage. Crab was brown. Over priced Chinese buffet. Very disappointed.

    (1)
  • Melanie A.

I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of sushi. The fish to rice ratio was smallish but it tasted fresh and that mattered more. I didn't try much of the other food but my boyfriend was satisfied. Tempura veggies were good when I got them hot. That's the biggest complaint really, that the appetizer type foods weren't always hot and fresh. They seemed to have a few separate rooms which would make it nice for parties. Decor and restrooms were nice.

Sakura has a great lunch time deal. The buffet's offering is OK. I feel the quality of some of the items leaves a lot to be desired. Overall it is a good place to go once in a while.

Great buffet. Very good sushi, rolls, and sashimi. Very fresh, great variety. Too much to enjoy in one trip. Lobster in sauce is good. Would be better w no sause but hey its cold water lobster at a buffet - very uncommon. We would definitely come here again.

Went there for the first time yesterday for dinner and was very pleased. Being a huge sushi fan the sushi I had was very fresh. They had sashimi which melted like butter in my mouth. There was a huge selection and not like the sushi you may get at a chinese buffet. There was a hibachi grill which I didn't try but will definitely the next time I go. I asked the waitress how long they have been open and she said a month and a half. Hopefully the quality doesn't diminish with time as this is my new favorite restaurant.

Nice asian buffet they provide a little bit of chinese, a ittle korean and a little japanese. As such, they dont get any one 100 %, but they are good buffet, so noce food for the price. They have better chinese, imho than the other chinese buffet durther east on new haven, but their japanese sushi is not as food as other sushi restaurants in the area. In terms of the sushi, they have a large assortment, but each piece is heavier on rice than on fish, and byowasabi. Personally neither chinese food or sushi is as appealing to me when it sits under buffet lights. But if you are hungry and want lots of sushi and chinese with your kimchi, then come here.

$7.95 or whatever it is, for a lunch buffet is a good deal -- there's no getting around that. There's a decent (though not overwhelming) selection that I think might keep a person interested for a couple of visits. Beyond that, I'm not really sure. I was surprised to see several different types of sushi rolls along with maybe half a dozen or so varieties of nigiri. Admittedly, the fish pieces were small and thin and generally of pretty low quality. If you're a true sushi fan, you won't be happy here. But if you can't tell the difference between high and low quality fish, you'll like it. Some of the Chinese offerings were decent, but all told I was pretty bored by my second visit to the buffet. Like I'm sure most buffet restaurants are, this place is one tradeoff after another. Great price, mediocre food. A number of sad people eating too much. Unlimited sushi, but not very good sushi. If you're into inexpensive buffet restaurants and quality food is a lower priority than sheer meal size, this is a place I can recommend for you. If you value GOOD food and it doesn't have to be unlimited to make you happy, there a many better options.

The best sushi & hibachi buffet that we've found in the area so far! - Large buffet with MANY options: An entire side of the buffet is just sushi. Hibachi cooked to order. Chinese and Japanese entrees, appetizers, sides, and desserts. Fresh fruit. Ice cream. Edamame. Seaweed salad. Tempura. Crab rangoon. 4 soups. Uniques items like jellyfish salad and oysters. - Very friendly, prompt service. - Lunch around $9 and dinner around $16. We went for lunch and plan to go back again for both. - Even our 15-month-old liked the food! Kids under 2 eat free. *Another reviewer complained that the sushi pieces were small pieces of fish with a lot of rice. Yes, this is true. But this is also common on buffets like this. Although the fish pieces are small, they offer an extensive variety of sushi and rolls. In my opinion, the amount and variety makes up for the small pieces. I'll just eat more! ;) We live in Viera; this is a 20-25 minute drive and there are similar buffets closer to us, yet we will definitely make the drive to come back here!

If you like sushi, this is a good place to come. There are other items but sushi is predominant. The restaurant is clean and staff is attentive. I find any place that can.beat their lunch price for AUCE sushi.

A sushi buffet closer than driving to Orlando! This restaurant has 3 different sections. A small Chinese buffet area with a few different Japanese items, a hibachi grill, and a bigger sushi buffet area. The sushi is mainly what you want to come here for; they have a lot of it. Lunch is half the price but doesn't offer as much of a sushi selection. Friendly and attentive staff. Very recommended for those who like sushi!

I have been here twice and won't be coming back. The food selection is poor, unless you love sushi, which I do not. The same selection was offered for lunch as dinner, but twice the price. The staff was very friendly, but the language barrier prevented my companions meal from being prepared the way they wanted.

Visiting Florida on business. There were many options for sushi seeing that Melbourne was right on the coast, but none were AYCE. I was dang hungry after skipping lunch, so I wanted to spend my petty cash on something worth it. 16 bucks for a weekday dinner, that's dang cheap for sushi so I gave it a go. I was the only customer at the time with 2 hours left till closing. It made me wonder if I made a mistake, but I looked on and wanted to try it still. -=-Hot Food-=- Not bad, not bad at all. The hot food options were plentiful, but I found my absolute favorites which were Fried Cream Cheese Wontons and the Honey Walnut Shrimp. I felt like I had to eat all the foods since I was the only one here, but my stomach would not have it. -=-The Sushi-=- It wasn't the bestest, freshest sushi, but it wasn't the worst either. I'd still put it a notch above Todai. There were about 2 baked rolls to choose from, but most of the selections were nigiri sushi. I didn't find my favorites like Ono, but they had the basics salmon, tuna, fresh eel, and yellowtail. Overall, this is good value for your money. Even if I were spending my own money, I'd eat here. Service was friendly and they treated me well and did not saturate me with attention being drastically outnumbered by employees.

Upon frequent re-visits, each time the sushi quality seems to degrade. The pieces originally where nice sized, just enough rice for what you would expect on a sushi buffet... but then the rice kept getting bigger, and the fish kept getting smaller... I would rather pay a little extra and get decent sized portions.

Decent selection. This restaurant is more Chinese than Japanese, so I am curious as to why the name. Clean and satisfying.

I finally got a chance to visit Sakura for lunch. The first thing that impresses is the decor, it is done so right. Dark wood tones and traditional Japanese decorations. The only improvement would have been wooden tables instead of plastic Corian-like surfaces, but that doesn't matter. The staff was friendly and I didn't notice any language barriers, both waitresses and cooks understood everything I had to say. As others have written, it is broken into 3 areas: sushi, Chinese buffet, and Mongolian/teppanyaki grill (not hibachi which has an open flame). There are also cold items such as salad, fruit, mussels, and peel-and-eat-shrimp. The sushi was presented well, and I would give it 7 of 10, which is good (Siam Orchid would get an 8). The rice wasn't correct, but at least it wasn't dry and hard, and were in proper proportions. The servings of fish were paper thin, but of good quality and tasty. All the sauces drizzled on certain items tasted great as well. My only complaint would be the addition of cream cheese to almost every item, which I am not a huge fan of. I missed seeing any sashimi, but that might be available at dinner. The buffet area has your standard staples on hand like bourbon chicken, fried rice, chicken on a stick, fried gyoza, etc. They had several soups available, and were good, but not great. The hot and sour soup was a little weak, and the egg drop was on the thin or watery side. Perhaps Sakura does Japanese better than Chinese, which would make sense. Available fresh scallions was a nice touch. If you want plain steamed rice, you have to ask for it, but the staff was friendly in getting a bowl filled for you. I did not try the teppanyaki. Food quality in general is good, but nothing really stood out as "a must". My only major gripes would be the lacking taste of the edamame, they were very bland and tasted like they came straight of out a frozen bag, unseasoned. The other was the seaweed salad, it was "cut" by too much cucumber. It is a common practice to add some cucumber to seaweed salad due to cost, but this was done to the extreme and you lost the seaweed taste. All in all, it was a nice change of pace from all the Thai or Chinese establishments in Brevard. It is definitely worth the cost and time to visit, and will go on my rotation of places to eat when I am in that part of town.

I was traveling through Florida and was stopping in Melborne for a day off I-95. I went there with my son, who was 11 yo, and the guy at the restaurant gave me 10% discount to make it kids' price. I thought that was very nice, and the restaurant was also nice, so I thought I will make this entry to return the favor. It seems that the guy thought I was a Chinese but actually I am from Japan. The restaurant is Japan-style American and Chinese restaurant, but I liked the food they serve - there are many interesting sushi such as one with mango sauce, sliced kiwis and strawberries - basically sushi that Japanese sushi chef would not normally put on their sushi. It's a little different, but interesting. Cream cheese and avocado in sushi are regular American fair. They are good too. They also had hibachi, basically stirfry done in front of you, with Asian sauce, it was good, too. You can eat to your heart's content because it's a buffet. It's easy to get there off I-95. The guy had a baby who was held by his wife (they all sit in the front) who was really cute too. I couldn't find their restaurant in Google so I assume that this restaurant is new and they are looking for new customers. Too bad don't live there, I would go there often if I did, because of the nice service.
