Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with a solid menu. I had the surf and turf and it was a good, not great cut of beef, the shrimp were seasoned and grilled perfectly. Hand cut fries and fresh fruit came with it and were excellent. My first trip won't be my last.

The food here is average. We used a coupon and had trouble with the waitress trying to get the coupon done correctly and we weren't happy as she acted like we were committing a crime. the service was average. good location but not the best food. menu has been reduced down to a smaller selection of items

A DELICIOUS dish is Calamari Vizin,i a new menu item at Jeffrey Kaplan's Riverview Diner off US-1 in Palm Shores (south of Pineda Causeway). Light Calamari served onto of spaghetti with a delicious sauce accompanied with a salad! A favorite of ours along with his lump crab-filled crab cakes with a side of broccoli saute! Their seafood is fresh and some of their menu changes weekly due to availability. The house dressing is both unique and excellent.

This is the newest diner in the area, having opened in only past few months. The interior is actually larger than it appears to be from the outside and it's clean. The staff is friendly enough and speed of service isn't all that bad. The menu is not as expansive as some other places, but the prices are reasonable. That's a good thing, because the food isn't worth much more. I ordered my breakfast favorite: biscuits and gravy with eggs and bacon. The bacon is probably the cheapest that can be legally sold on the open market. I'm big on *crisp* bacon. This wasn't it. The biscuits were okay, but the gravy was truly bland. As if they realized it, they topped it with some (I think) season salt. This is by far the worst biscuits and gravy in the area. A shame considering the high hopes I had. One truly disappointing trend that we've noticed in this area is the move toward "home fries" and the deletion of hash browns from the menus. I prefer hash browns over quartered fried potatoes. In fact, I literally HATE quartered potatoes - in anything except potato salad. But at least they don't put the tomato paste like Harbor City does. Would I recommend breakfast there? No. There are many, many other diners in the area with better breakfasts. Lunch and dinner might be better, but I won't hold out high hopes.

This place is ADORABLE! The staff is super friendly, and you can tell most of the people in there are regulars. I want to be a regular! I came in here strictly for dessert. My cookie sundae was mediocre, using chocolate syrup instead of actual hot fudge. However, all of the food around me looked great! And the breakfast menu looked delicious too! I would recommend just getting ice cream instead of the cookie sundae if you're looking for a dessert, but I will definitely be back to try an actual meal. Keep up the great customer service, guys!

Food is good, wait staff friendly Doesn't accept AMEX Portion sizes and prices are on target. The out door deck is really nice.

I tried Palm Shores for the first time this evening for dinner with my mom. The restaurant looks small from the outside, but is quite roomy inside and the first impression I had was that it was very clean. Looking good so far. We ordered the Mexican eggrolls, which came piping hot and were very tasty. My mom ordered hot tea and I had unsweet iced tea, which was fresh and strong, just the way I like it. Unfortunately, the meal had a lot to be desired. Mom ordered fried shrimp, which came with slaw and she ordered a sweet potato also. She said the shrimp was good, although she added a lot of lemon juice to it. She said the slaw was bland, but fresh. When I went to order, I asked the waiter if I should choose the meatloaf or the fried chicken. Without hesitation, he said, "Chicken." I thought this was a good sign with his quick response to go with the chicken. The vegetable of the day was broccoli and I ordered a sweet potato as well. The chicken was BLAND with absolutely no flavor and the meat was dry. It was as if they forgot to dip it in seasoning and only dipped it in flour then, after cooking it, let it sit all day. The broccoli was mush and the sweet potato was overcooked. I never add salt to food prepared at a restaurant trusting that the chef has flavored it the way he wants you to taste it. I had to add salt and pepper to try to give the chicken flavor - it didn't help. I couldn't finish the chicken due to the lack of flavor and its dryness. My impression is that they precook everything earlier in the day and then leave the vegetables in a steamer and the chicken under a heat lamp. I was really disappointed because I really wanted to like the place since it is a local restaurant and not a chain. I noticed the waiter never asked how the meal was, I suspect because he was already aware of the quality of the food, but I can't say for sure. Walking out, the owner was in the parking lot saying good-bye to his wife. He said goodnight to us, but never asked how everything was either. I'm a big believer that if you want to know how your food is, you ask the customer - especially if you are the owner. I doubt I will give it another chance, even though I was really tempted to go for breakfast one morning to try the Cap'n Crunch french toast. I worry it may be a flavorless experience as well.

Last meal ( lunch ) was barely warm.....all the meals at the table were. Service has also seemed better in times past. I've never had breakfast there but peeps say it's what they do best. Convenient location but not great food.
