Received a menu in the junk mail and put it on the counter. One night my fiance and I just felt like some Chinese and decided to give it a try! It was by far THE BEST I have found so far. Xin Da used to be where I would get my food from but they kinda stopped being very good. Lucky Garden was so yummy! HOT! FRESH TASTING! Fiance said lo mein was slightly more salty than he would have liked but the taste overall was delicious! We plan on eating from here more often! And he said the egg rolls were great. General Tso's chicken is what I ordered and it was perfect!

I ordered several items, one of which was soup. I usually prefer to eat soup first so I pulled it out of the bag. Inside soup lodged between tofu and container wall was a cockroach. Pictures show better what I mean. Needless to say everything I ordered went straight into trash.

I have been to all of the Chinese restaurants in the area and this BY FAR is the best food I've had. Everything was awesome. Their rice was flavorful, their soup stock was flavored perfectly, their wontons in the soup were cooked to perfection. I love it here and this will be the ONLY place I order from ever again!

I wouldn't give this restaurant even a 1 star review. They load up everything with cheap vegetables - especially broccoli such that you might get 4 small shrimp and 5 small scallops in a pound of cheap vegetables and charge almost $13,00. They bread everything so you think you are getting a lot of food. What you are getting is a 1/2" layer of breading with a sad little piece of real food in the center.

I've visited this restaurant every week since I relocated to Melbourne. After today I will NEVER go back. The employee who took my order made a mistake and I brought it to his attention. While I was willing to pay for the missing item, he began to demand that I pay with cash because of their $5 minimum credit card rule. I refused to because the error was not mine. He agreed to run my card again but got down right argumentative and refused to apologize or take any responsibility for the missing item. Chinese restaurants are every where. I'll find one where they treat their customers properly. I'm NEVER going back to this place!

It annoys me to have to make this post, but I feel obligated to my family, friends, and community to have to share the horrible experience turned disturbing in regard to one of our local restaurants. Ever since I moved to Melbourne, we have ordered food regularly from Lucky Garden. We considered this one of our favorite restaurants in town. Tonight, we placed an order for delivery. It started off by the food running late. I know it happens, and this was a first from them with us, but when the food arrived, the order was partially wrong. I called the restaurant, and they agreed to either credit me for the mistake, or deliver the correct food to us. With my brother, who had waited an hour for the wrong food to be delivered, not having anything to eat, I asked if they could please rush the correction to be delivered. There was a slight price difference of a dollar, which bothered me that they insisted that I pay, considering the inconvenience. What makes it disturbing is that they insisted that we return the food that was delivered by mistake. Working in the food industry for a long time, I this sounded odd. Why would they want the food back? Legally, they can't serve it to someone else, especially since it has left the premises. Knowing this, most places will let you keep it since they have to throw it away, anyway, as a gesture of good faith. After a few minutes of pondering this, I couldn't take another bite of my food. All that could go through my head was that I was possibly eating someone else's plate scrapings, and announced my concerns. My sister-in-law could no longer eat her food at this point, either. I called the restaurant, cancelled the delivery, and asked to be credited. When they asked me for the reason, I told them, and STUPID me had to tell them that we probably wouldn't be ordering from them anymore (which is true, since this experience tainted the whole idea of ever eating there again). Although I was polite, I probably should have kept that to myself, because that's when they started getting rude. Hanging up the phone with no confirmation of a credit, I drove to McDonald's to get my brother food, then gathered what was left our order and drove it down to Lucky Garden. Busy inside, the lady (who I assumed was the owner by her approach) topped the night off with even more rudeness, and attempted to embarrass me in front of the other patrons. I calmly told her I was leaving the food behind for her to serve to her next guests.

We eat here 2 or 3 times a month and have for years. There food is terrific. We usually get spicy beef lo mein, beef curry and steamed vegetables in light white sauce. All of them are delicious and freshly made to order. For several years now, they have received an award naming them one of the Top 100 Chinese Take Outs in the U.S. We always get take out or delivery. There is very little seating inside. But the service at the counter is always superb.

Dispite previous review. I have always found the staff friendly. I have been here countless times, countless. The chinese food here is as good if not better than any take out in NYC. Their hot & sour soup rules. The Moo Shu is delicious. And they deliver!!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
