The best authentic NY-style bagels I've found in the Central Florida area. Period. I love real bagels - meaning, if they aren't boiled before baking, they don't qualify. Boiling them first produces that awesome chewiness that makes NY bagels so good. Very few of the bagel places in Florida bother, and none of them would last a week in NY. Yes, it's a small shop, so he sometimes runs out of things. But I haven't found a better bagel in the area, so it's worth it. This place is over an hour away from my home, but I drive over once a month to buy bagels. Call him the day before and place an order, then he'll have exactly what you want.

Very, very average bagel place, but they're one of the few places in Melbourne open early. I came into Bagel Joe's around 6am--props to the Yelp app for identifying that it is one of Melbourne's only restaurants open at 6am. The interior was clean and well lit, and the employee working was very friendly, especially for it being so early. Fortunately (unlike what other reviews say,) they were fully stocked. The 'special' of the day was a Pepperjack Bagel with Plain Cream Cheese, so I ordered one of them, along with a Chocolate Chip Bagel with Cinnamon Raisin Walnut Cream Cheese. The bagels were pretty large, and with the HUGE amount of cream cheese lathered on, they were pretty reasonable for ~$3 each. They were ready in about 10 minutes or so, and I took them to go. I only ate them a few hours later, so I can't attest to how they'd taste fresh, but my Chocolate Chip Bagel with Cinnamon Raisin Walnut Cream Cheese was incredibly fantastic (A+) and my Pepperjack Bagel with Plain Cream Cheese was bland to the point of... cardboard, which is strange considering it was the special. So very hit or miss, I suppose. There seem to be other good bagel places in Melbourne, so I doubt I'll be back if I want a bagel, but if I need something at 6am again... this isn't the worst option. P.S. They have some great coupons on their website, so definitely check it out before you go in!

Ordered onion bagel (toasted), with lox, tomatoes and onion. All in all very tasteless, no flavor at all. Onion wilted, lox bland, bagel was half toasted. My first and last visit to this place. Will continue my quest for a decent lox and bagel breakfast. Oh, and for 9.50 it should have been loaded...

The place looked fairly un-kept, there were many empty baskets leaving the selection very limited. I had read on a previous reviewer that they kept their stock up since they bake their own, this is NOT true. I asked the guy and he said "we are a small business, we can't keep it stocked..." You would think that the bagels that sell out were the bagels people are buying, so they would keep them coming...nope! No need to go back if they are out of the good bagels by mid morning...

Every time I come in, no matter who is working, they're always friendly. :) their lox with capers and onions is soo good! :) Also, they sell Red Bull (and a ton of other bottled drinks) so I don't have to make another stop to 7-11! :D
