We had the buffet the food was about average the salad bar was lacking. I wouldn't make a special trip to come here. A little pricey for what you get.

Best fried chicken I ever had anywhere!!! Basic southern food otherwise, not much atmosphere, but best place near mayo to eat.

First place you come to when entering Mayo on 27 South. Lots of locals and service was prompt and friendly. The hole-in-the-wall-Southern-buffet ambience was as expected. Both buffet and menu available. I had the barbecued chicken, collard greens, green beans and corn bread off the buffet - all tasty except for the dry corn bread. My husband enjoyed the fried chicken, Ford Hook Lima beans and rice. The salad bar was average in terms of offerings, but the lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers were fresh. We both enjoyed the banana pudding. Nothing to rave about, but we weren't sorry we stopped and we left full at a reasonable buffet price ($7.95 dine in lunch buffet, drinks not included). Word of caution: years's worth of grease (invisible) has accumulated on the bathroom doors and floors. Doors are sticky and the floors are a little slick. Use a paper towel to exit the bathroom and watch your step!

A quick update on this place, and I wish it could be a more kind update, but honestly it cannot. My most recent experience here was nowhere near as good as previous ones, mainly because the price for the buffet has increased to an astronomical $17 (yes, you read that right) for a country-style buffet and they didn't even have fried chicken that day! A lot of overly-fried seafood, yes, but a poor selection of sides and no chicken. And a country buffet without fried chicken is like a day without sunshine or a Disney parade without Mickey Mouse, or an Enterprise without Captain Picard . . . you feelin' me here? The waitstaff, as always was prompt and super-sweet. Most of the customers are senior citizens (I think they get a reduced price which may explain the hike for non-old folks, I don't know). The fried shrimp were alright and the cole-slaw was good but aside from that, not too impressive--especially not at these prices.

Just an average southern style buffet. The whole place needs to be updated and thoroughly cleaned. Table tops are sticky, not from being dirty just that they were put in the restaurant back in 1960 and well after 50 years the surface of the table has just worn out. Unless you can't find anything else open in town then I'd say keep driving on to the next town where you might find a better meal.

Another good buffet to visit after a day of cave diving. Has the usual suspects on the buffet. As with other buffets in the area, the dining room is festooned with hunting trophies. The service is as expected and the prices are reasonable. Remember, it is "All You Can Eat" not "Eat All You Can"! You're heart will thank you later.

The buffet was amazing!! So many southern style options to choose from. Word to the wise: it's either you eat here or Subway and then ride another 20 miles or so before you find something else. We were on a cycling trip when we saw this place, and we are so glad we stopped in. The people working there were also super friendly!

Not very impressive, even for a hole in the wall diner. Had a blonde haired tattoo covered server named Heather who was more into texting and talking on her cell phone than dealing with taking orders, bringing a check or being even slightly server like
