This place has some excellent Italian food. Not to mention some of the best lunch specials around! They've expanded within the last year an now have plenty of seating. The wait staff is attentive and always friendly!

Excellent pizza now! This place went south for a bit, but now under new management/ownership it is back on top! Get there now! NOW!!

This place has the best pizza in all of South Florida. Their calzones are also very delish. The last couple of times I went, the place was a little cramped, but they've recently gone through an expansion, so hopefully there's more room the next time I go. It's reasonably priced and very flavorful.

I have been looking forward to trying La Pizzeria in Margate. On 2-14-11, I made there. The service was friendly and very good. The food is a different story. My dish was over cooked. Most of the cheese on top was burnt. The actual meal was not very good, at best average. Recently they raised their prices and were told that the prices online are different than their menu. They did not seem interested in updating their website with the correct prices. I would recommend you try somewhere else.

I have been going to this place for years and it's still the best pizza I've had in FL outside of NY (where I grew up). Their eggplant Parmesan sub is also easily the best one I've ever had. Everything is super fresh and always prepared with care. Also, they don't skimp on pizza toppings which I appreciate! The family who owns it (and all run the place) are the nicest, most attentive people and genuinely care about good food and happy customers. If you're driving by Coconut Creek/Margate, do yourself a favor and stop in - you will NOT be disappointed!

Their pizza is delicious and their sauce is unique and a bit sweet over other local pizzerias. The challenge is consistency plain and simple, as well as standing out in a crowd ! The location did a nice expansion as it once was literally a hole in the wall. It lives in a plaza with Winn Dixie as the anchor store. The view is blocked from the Sample/441 overpass. They offer no pizza specials locally for takeout or delivery. We stopped visiting as we saw changes in business that appeared to cheapen its uniqueness. They use to offer a small basket of complimentary garlic knots upon visit while getting drinks. Once absent they suggested it was not for pizza orders nor other meals outside of a formal entree. On next visit we ordered a large salad and calzone along with pizza and still no complimentary rolls. Contact to management was rehearsed and offered no apology or repair. Hostess that evening was of no value also. Follow up email was also scripted and basically suggested they failed to see a clients view of this policy. As with some businesses they fail to care about the differences that made them unique. With no less than -4- eat-in pizzerias within a mile they need to be unique and more client friendly. Unfortunately they lost a client and referral as they failed to see value in contact and outside comment.

Second time here. First time we had the pizza, meat lovers and extra cheese. The meat lovers pizza was delish! They piled on all types of meat and it was extremely tasty! Second time, we came for dinner. Garlic rolls are a must! They lather the rolls in a garlic butter sauce that is ah-maz-ing! Veal parmigiana was good. Sauce was excellent. Will return again!

Went with two friends for dinner this past Sunday. Enjoyed it very much. Tried a plain slice off a pie that was very good (and I'm from NY). Then, had the Tour of Italy sampler platter (lasagna, chicken parmigiana, meatballs and sausages) and I really enjoyed it. Garlic rolls also delicious - not too garlicky but done just right. My friends enjoyed what they had also.

Great Place to Eat. We have been eating here for several years now and EVERYTHING we have ordered was top notch. I whole heartedly recommend this place to you.

This is absolutely the worst pizza I have ever ordered! The crust is like eating cardboard, if you get more than one item on the pizza it's so disgustingly soggy you can't even pick it up! Very sad when I called to explain my dissatisfaction and the manager tried to say his brother was manning the ovens and would never pull a soggy pizza out, am I delusional?

I've been buying their product for years , but this Sunday was the last time I patronized that restaurant. Although the pizza is not cheap, it is usually good, so I was willing to pay the price. Their service, however, is another matter. As I stopped by to pick up my pie yesterday, there were no other customers there. Nonetheless, my presence was totally ignored by the staff. The counter girl was chatting away on the phone; she took my cash, gave me change and went back to her phone. To get her attention I had to ask her what did I just pay for. As I waited and waited, the owner just happened to walk by and give me a blank stare. Finally, she gave me my pie (it was ready and sitting there the whole time) - without putting down the phone, without looking at me, without "thank you". And the place was EMPTY. You'd think for the prices they charge they could afford to hire someone to provide decent service. La Pizzeria just lost a long-term customer. There is no shortage of pizzerias around here, so why would I spend my money at a place where I'm treated like a nuisance?

How does this place stay in business this long? I'll focus on the pizza for this review, because this place is called "La Pizzeria". The pizza here sucks. I feel like the only people who will like the pizza here are people that have not had real pizza before, or are just extremely hungry when they show up. The sauce is bad. I can't pinpoint the exact flavor, but when you bite into a slice, you can tell there's a "tang" in the sauce that really shouldn't be there. It's just not good. I know the sauce wasn't rotten or anything, because this wasn't the first time I've been here, and not the first time the sauce has tasted this bad. I remember having a sub-par experience here the last time, but I was literally within walking distance and decided to stop in because I was hungry and the USA basketball Olympic game was on (they have two TVs inside). The cheese wasn't bad, but the mixture of the cheese and the sauce was pretty awful. Someone needs to change that sauce. The crust of the pizza was somewhat mediocre. The length of cooking time seemed perfect, to be honest, as the pizza crust seemed to have just the right consistency. However, the taste of the crust wasn't too pleasant. The fried mozzarella was okay. It tasted like it had been sitting out and was reheated, but it wasn't bad. The marinara sauce that came with it was alright as well. On the plus side, the fountain soda was delicious. Haha, I'm serious. It really was! Perfect mixture of syrup and seltzer. Kudos to whoever made that decision. Overall, I wouldn't come back here. There are so many other (BETTER) pizza places in the Coral Springs/Coconut Creek area, that there is no reason to have to come here for a mediocre pizza.

I'm a New Yorker and very choosy about pizza...Most of it in southern fla is awful. This place is the real deal, you'd think you're in Brooklyn! No small pies, tho'. And pricey. I ordered med. pie with broccoli rabe. $19.

I have tried this place for the first time yesterday and ordered 1/2 Hawaiian 1/2 Margarita pizza.. It was a really nice tasting pizza. The tomato sauce on the margarita is fantastic. Very rich, real tomato taste.. Today, I am getting for me and my son Pasta Carbonara and some salad.. I will be sure to photograph and review...

I love their minestrone soup and grilled chicken sandwich. Everything taste so freshly made, the quality of the ingredients is awesome and the prices are very fair, especially if you come in during their lunch specials. This is a family owned business so service is always on point.

Excellente! As an Italian, it takes a lot for me to give the thumbs up for Italian restaurants. This place, recommended by a lifelong, fellow ex-NYer friend, is on the money. Wonderful red sauce. That should tell the whole story. Extensive menu. Great service and atmosphere. Looking forward to my next visit. MOLTO BENE!!!

We found ourselves in this neighborhood today and yelped for a place to eat. This restaurant came up so we gave it a shot. After viewing the menu and taking in the restaurant vibe we liked what we saw. I had a special - tortellini, peas, sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms in a garlic and olive oil sauce and my husband had an amazing caprese pizza - deep dish. It appears they have daily pizza specials and they all looked wonderful. My husband said it best when in the end he said "this place is legit!". If in the margate area give it a shot!!

Great pizza! I have only gotten delivery and have not tried any other menu items but I have to give 5 stars for their pizza. They are also very efficient and friendly on the phone when taking your order. This is our new pizza place!

This restaurant is more than a place to grab a slice. It's immaculate, the food is prepared using quality ingredients (they make fresh mozzarella here), and the servers are on their game. We've never had a bad meal here - from soup to dessert everything is spot on. But, let me tell you about the pizza. They make gourmet slices and pies. We are hooked on a veggie pie - which on the surface doesn't sound fascinating, but when was the last time you had a pie with broccoli rabe, roasted eggplant that was not breaded, thick slices of portabella mushrooms, and roasted peppers? Oh yes, with the freshly made mozzarella cheese. The crust is crisp enough to lift these slices and fold them - which, when you consider the bulk of all those toppings, is amazing! They will make you whatever you want here; they have lunch specials of hot dishes, pizza, and sandwiches that are VERY generously portioned and well-priced and they have full dinners with a full assortment of fresh proteins, veggies and pastas. This is a restaurant worth coming to - don't be surprised if you wait for a table during dinner service - the secret is out that this restaurant is worth the trip!

Amazing!!!!! This gem is too good to be true! The best service I've ever had at a restaurant. Too much to talk about! I wanted to give it 10 stars but the most I can give is 5! They cater to EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY! Please don't change!

This is a little pizza/Italian restaurant in a shopping plaza. The inside is comfy and clean. We ordered a medium veggie pizza. When I asked if they had garlic rolls, our waiter told us he'd bring us an order "on the house"! The garlic rolls were delicious! The pizza was very large for a medium and I tasted great! The crust was thin, but not too thin (think New York style). The sauce was good and the veggies tasted fresh. All in all, a good little local spot for pizza!

Back again and again and again. I'm hooked on their Grandma Pizza and garlic knots! I still love this pizza place. No bad experiences here yet.

We got delivery, meat lovers pizza with bacon. The meats were delicious crispy and high quality. Crust however was a not fluffy and crispy more heavy and soggy, I'm assuming from sitting while on delivery and with the weight of the toppings. I'm thinking it would be better if ordered and eaten at the restaurant. However it was very tasty and full of flavor, and still way better than your chain pizza places. We would order pizza from here again!

I had the Eggplant Rollatini gourmet Sicilian pizza slices for lunch...out of this world! I hesitated since it was not a regular slice, but the Sicilian pie dough was soft and light, not a heavy dense consistency. A perfect balance to the eggplant and ricotta cheese. Served with a side of sauce. It was perfect. I was sad that I couldn't finish every last bite!

A casual family place with polite service and a huge menu. This place really has "something for everyone." The salad was crisp and the dressing (vinaigrette) tasted homemade. Garlic rolls were top notch - even better when I shook Parmesan cheese onto them and dipped each bite into the left-over salad dressing. For main courses, I had the eggplant rollatini and my wife had the penne bolognese. While not gourmet, these were above average dishes with huge portions. The eggplant rollatini was hot and filled nicely with ricotta cheese; very tasty! The bolognese was not as meaty and thick as I like, but the flavor was spot on and the pasta al dente. Overall, a solid family Italian restaurant. One small issue- the bathrooms are "single service." I waited like 10 minutes to use the bathroom; if they ever expand, they should consider making it larger.

Went here last night for the very first time and found the place to be clean and service was ok.however they didn't seem to listen when I asked for them to go easy on the sauce and cheese and my food still had a lot of sauce on it. I ordered the tour of Italy which is supposed to come with meatballs, lasagna , sausage and chicken parmesan. When I got the food there was only one meatball, half a sausage, a 3-4 bite piece of chicken Parmesan and about 2 bites of lasagna so it wasn't a lot of food for $15 I've have had the same thing at olive garden and their portion was a lot bigger. The meal did come with a choice of soup and salad and garlic rolls. I just would of likes a little more food for the money. The food itself was ok tho but I've had better. Most likely won't go back

We order from this place at least once a week. Sometimes we'll eat in. A little on the expensive side but well worth it. If you like bacon try the penne ala vodka. The pizzas are great. The staff are very friendly. I would recommend this place.

This is our standby for delivery pizza. We also stop in for pick up. The restaurant is casual and the service is always friendly and helpful. The pizza is definitely good. We are very particular about our pizza, so a rating of 7 out of 10 is very high for us. Delivery is reasonably prompt, order takers on phone very polite and efficient, drivers polite. Unfortunately we are not very thrilled by their pasta dishes. My wife had a Shrimp Scampi and felt the shrimp was overcooked and the sauce all wrong, "gloppy". I had Chicken Picatta and it seemed like they used the same sauce and just added lemon and capers. Just not the quality we expected since the pizza is good. We sometimes get the baked clams and find them tasty but unremarkable.

I've been eating at La Pizzeria since I was young. My parents used to order the large Sicilian Square pie on Friday nights. I hadn't been there in a few years, I rediscovered it earlier this year. My husband and I now go there frequently for dinner or lunch. The food is always good and the service is never bad. I love the new look of the place since they expanded.

well.....yesterday i came in for a slice (my gfriend wanted something to chew on while we ran errands and i had a bite..)..it was really good..thin and the crust had a flaky cripsy thing to it..also the sauce was good & the slice size was impressive etc...no complaints... so tonight i decided ill grab a whole 18" pizza since yesterday my gfriend kept bringing up how good the pizza was...sad to say but it SUCKED tonight and whats even worse is im now stuck with a 18" pie that sucks. (today was my cheat day and what a waste of calories) this wasnt cheap either..19bux!!id been better off going next door to the supermarket and get a frozen pizza that would have been just as good (seriously) and spend 6-7bux......they must have different people making pizzas...today was as generic as you can get in the pizza world..sauce was bland as hell and the crust was to thick.they also cut up all the slices into smaller slices..wtf?.this didnt look like a 18" pie to me..even the box looks like a 16"..really really dissapointed..i feel like i wasted good $ on crap pizza when i could have spent it on a healthier choice with a better value elsewhere..ive eaten pizza from most places in the area (i go out of my way to try different pizza places and have found that most places are very inconsistant with the quality of there pies..but for the price of this pie its hard to just brush it off)....almost called them to ask what the hell happened and can i return it (but i didnt..but i really want to)..its edible but for this quality tonight shouldnt have costed me more than 11bux and i regret my choice for tonights cheat day dinner

Good Italian food. I agree with another yelper, it did go south for a bit. Since the new renovations I've had excellent food and exceptional service for lunch. If I had to make one comment...I would say the red sauce is very good. I actually needed to ask for extra. Other than that it was worth the visit. I used to order pizza from here all time but they started to become stingy with the toppings. Now that I mention it the last pizza I ordered from here had a paper thin crust and very little toppings/sauce on the pizza that's why I stopped ordering from here. It was probably just an off night. I'll give them another try.

Once a wonderful Italian bistro, but only in our memories now. Bigger doesn't always mean Better. The deterioration of the food, wait staff, and prices took awhile. My friend ordered veggie lasagna: raw - I mean really raw - veggies. Inedible. I ordered spaghetti & meatballs; sauce tasted like Campbell's tomato soup, meatballs were actually spongy. Yuk. No offer of iced tea refills. Had to hunt for our waitress for every little need (utensils, napkins, parmesan, etc) and when found she was not a happy person and could not get away fast enough. The woman in the booth behind us asked if we needed anything - she was going to help herself & would be glad to bring us stuff. A punk kid just hanging out at the cash register was flirting with another employee thru our entire meal - Yuk again. As we were leaving, we heard our "waitress" complain - we had left a 10% tip which was way too much, but she didn't think so. Save your money.

Eat here all the time for lunch and get take out dinner. Pizza is always good, the dinners and lunches are always tasty. The staff is usually friendly but waiter Dane needs work on his people skills.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
