Maybe it was an off night since most people love this place. Bread and infused oil was the best part of the meal. Caesar salad was ok, house salad wilted, and mom asked for sliced tomatoes since she can't eat lettuce and the tomatoes were not fresh at all. Mom's swordfish was very good, but small portion. My daughter had the pasta pomodoro and it was ridiculously soupy. My stuffed chicken was good but rather salty. Service was a little slow. All in all was a bit disappointed.

Service was great and the food was outstanding! This is coming from a couple of New England food snobs too! I would highly recommend this place. Started off with an absolutely delicious asparagus soup followed by Chilean sea bass with miso glaze and the hubby had a shrimp scampi over pasta. Both of us were very happy.

My husband and I are here last night. We had a great meal with exceptional service. I had the best filet I've had in a long time. Beautiful, tender cut of meat, perfectly cooked and seasoned. My husband had the tuna, which was very good and served with a spicy wasabi sauce that he really enjoyed. The atmosphere is okay and the location is easily missed (neon green sign on building)-we drive by and had to circle back. If you want a great cut of filet-go here you will not be disappointed.

We had the best-prepared and most delicious Chilean Sea Bass we have ever eaten at this restaurant. Their garlic and herb infused olive oil for dipping bread was addictive and amazing. My scallops and the Chicken Breast in Phyllo were scrumptious. Excellent and yummy children's menu. If we return to Naples, we will most definitely return to this restaurant.

Fantastic Food! Excellent service! What a great hidden gem in Marco Island. Our dining experience here was 5 stars from start to finish. Reservations were easy to make via their the website, and when we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly hostess and seated right away. Our server, Lori was wonderful and very attentive. She was genuinely friendly, and she really wanted us to enjoy our dinner and time at Verdis. She was extremely well versed in the menu and explained the specials to us in great professional detail. The fresh warm bread and garlic oil they bring you is fantastic. The young man who brought it to us was very nice and even told my girlfriend that because of where she was sitting, the sun will start to lower soon and may be bright in her eyes. He said, "please let me know if you need me to close the blinds if the sun is bothering you." What a nice touch. Fresh garden salads are available with the entrees, and we decided to skip getting an appetizer because of the bread and salads. You can upgrade your salad for a little extra, and everything is fresh and made in house right down to the vinaigrette dressing. We wanted to be sure to have room for dinner and dessert! I ordered the Crispy Duck ($28.00) Which was semi-boneless, and came with jasmine rice, sautéed spinach, plus two sauces; raspberry and a ginger hoisin sauce. It was excellent and the portion size was generous. I also ordered a side of gnocchi with red sauce ($5 ala carte) I like gnocchi a lot and theirs was very tasty and well prepared. My girlfriend had the Seafood Newberg (29.00) Which was shrimp, scallops, chopped clams & lobster, in a lobster sauce with jasmine rice and peas. I didn't try it, but it looked great and she said it tasted amazing. We ordered coffee, and for dessert we had the German chocolate cake which was to die for! All in all we had such an awesome experience here. The food, the service, the ambiance was everything you'd expect from a great restaraunt. We look forward to going back here many times!

Great find...thank you Yelp!! This was the icing on the cake to a great weekend getaway to Marco Island! The restaurant has such charm, it's hard to describe...you just know you're going to love it and they don't disappoint! Raul was our waiter and so wonderful, really catering to our every need. We weren't that hungry but really wanted to try the shrimp Mac n Cheese appetizer so we decided to have it as a side with dinner. House salad was fresh and their house roasted garlic vinaigrette delicious!! I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and hubby opted for the Porterhouse Steak, we also had the mashed cauliflower. The entrees were amazing, BEST Mac n Cheese I've ever had, so rich and creamy!! I'm not a huge fan of the sirloin which I find lacks flavor and is tough at a medium rare temp, the filet however melts in your mouth ... I wish they offered a ribeye instead. Slightly disappointed with the mashed cauliflower and I LOVE cauliflower! We really were stuffed but had to try their dessert...the German Chocolate Cake was served warm with a shredded coconut n a caramel sauce with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, along with a great cup of coffee! Hope to be back soon!!!

**Note: Verdi's is currently the best restaurant in Marco Island.** Marco Island has been my family's annual reunion vacation spot for over 3 decades. Over the years, we've seen many restaurants come and go, and others shift in quality. Konrad's had long been our go-to spot for fine dining, but in recent years they closed and have since reopened, now positioning themselves as an "Island Grille" instead of fine dining. And in our scramble to find a new favorite spot, after numerous unfortunate missteps, our search led us to Verdi's, which has since become one of our favorites. It's located right off of Collier, a quick drive from most of the main hotels. The exterior is humble and not indicative of the classy atmosphere awaiting inside. Soon after being seated, you are served with their complimentary bread + olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and parmesan. The bread is served warm, and is extremely soft and fresh: a good sign for things to come. The wait staff is highly professional and attentive, and very accommodating to any dietary preferences or needs. I am typically here with a large party of 14-18, but they have consistently proved competent in tending to the needs of each individual. In waiting for our entrees, we usually burn right through the bread, but they are always right behind with another warm basket. Speaking of entrees, each one I've tried has been phenomenal. Prices for most dishes range between $22-38. Portion sizes are not huge, but the meal ends up being very filling after the bread and the salad (included with each entree). My favorite dish is the Crispy Duck, which is topped with one scoop of hoisin sauce and another of raspberry sauce. The meat is juicy and tender under the crisp skin, and this combined with the sweetness and tartness of the sauces makes for one of the best preparations of duck I've ever experienced. Another great dish is the Gorgonzola-encrusted Filet Mignon: the meat is superb in quality, and the demi-glaze sauce matches nicely with the cheese. All in all, you end up with an intimate, slow-paced meal for around $40-50 per person. A good portion of the food on Marco Island is overpriced, but Verdi's is living proof that there's no need to settle for sub-quality tourist-priced food. I believe they are currently one of the best dining experiences on the island. It's also one of the restaurants I'd actually recommend going Turf rather than Surf, especially if you've already gotten your share of seafood elsewhere. Recommendation: Crispy Duck

We have been to Verdi's several times but this is our first review. Tonight I had the snapper special prepared with mango chutney and avocado mashed potatoes. Surprising and delicious. My date had the Seafood Newburg and loved it all except for a fishy piece of lobster claw, but that is what you sometimes get with claw. The scallop was as big as a baseball! The Lobter Rangoon app was delightful, as was the Whiskey Bread Pudding for dessert. Our favorite restaurant on the Island created another memorable evening.

This place has a very nice atmosphere. The servers are pretty attentive. We were celebrating an anniversary and a birthday. They had decorated the table for our celebrations. Various people at our table ordered the meatloaf, the snapper special, the grilled salmon, the baked salmon, the grilled shrimp and the rack of lamb. Everyone loved the garlic vinaigrette dressing on the salad. Everyone seemed pretty happy with their meals. The fish specials of the day tasted especially fresh. My only complaint was the sauteed spinach. It tasted like somebody had accidentally emptied the salt container all over it. It was so salty. But they were happy to take it back and make me some new spinach. The new one was much better. It was pretty expensive, but I guess it was worth it.

I've been going to Naples/Marco now for almost 2 decades, and this is the best restaurant I have been to..beats any restaurant on 5th or 3rd. I had the grilled shrimp, my wife the sea bass - both were as well done as they could be, cooked just right, seasoned perfectly. I began with the "basic" wedge salad...and it was well done - you would think that any wedge salad would be basic, but the seasoning, bacon, and just right amount of perfect dressing showed the care and focus of the chef. The main entrees were as good as an entree as we have had in any restaurant...anywhere. I've been to restaurants around the world, and I would compare the food to any that I have been in. That good. The service is also good. i had called during the valentine week for a table, knowing the odds were low. I asked to be waitlisted...and got lucky to get a table on Valentines day. Don't let the exterior or interior mislead you - small, unassuming - and that is great! The only problem I have - I hope it doesn't get too popular, for I always want to get a table!

My husband and I have frequented this establishment 4 times within the last year. The food is fantastic. Verdi is very consistent in quality & service. Try the duck ( skin is extra-crispy and very flavorful)! The rack-of-lamb is also sure to please. If you are in the mood for upscale dining with a relaxing atmosphere then Verde's is highly recommended!

Verdi's American Bistro is a small restaurant on Marco Island which we have visited for years. We have always loved the good food and quaint atmosphere there. After it was sold a couple years ago, we felt the food wasn't up to par and the portions were very small. We stopped going there. This year on Easter we decided to try it again. This time it was wonderful! The food was delicious, the portions were good and the service could not have been better. Our favorite waiter, Janes, always gives you attentive top-notch service. Glad Verdi's is back to being the best on Marco. .

  • Kris M.

The best. Great service, great food. One of my favorites on Marco. Even though it doesn't have the ambiance of some of the other restaurants on the island, the food certainly blows them away. Don't pass this one up.

Verdi's is a hidden gem in an unassuming location on Collier Blvd. It is not your typical Marco restaurant. If you want elbow-room-only, loud music, rude people, and commercially prepared food, you will not like this place. Verdi's offers a pleasantly rare and enjoyable intimate dining experience. Everything about our evening was top shelf. The personnel, whether it be bus or wait staff, owner or hostess, were all professional, attentive, friendly, and made extra effort to insure everything was perfect. For appetizers we had delicious crab-stuffed mushrooms and PEI mussels prepared in tasty white wine. Save the sauce for dipping your warm bread - it was incredibly delicious. Our choice of entrees was difficult as everything looked so good. We settled on the flounder and prime rib entrees. They were excellent! Unfortunately, Verdi's is not on the water offering a sunset view. Oh well; not a problem. Everything else was so positive they still deserve 5 stars. We will definitely go back again.

I am getting ready to pay my check as I write this review. After being in Key West for a week and Naples for another week, this was the best meal we have had by far. Service was great (I left an almost 30% tip) food was fabulous. When we come back next year Verdis will most definitely be on our list to return.

This place was amazing! The service was excellent and the food delicious. If ever in Naples, be sure to eat at Verdi's. We celebrated a birthday there and they put confetti and wrote Happy Birthday on the table covering. The Groupon is a great deal for such a gem! Even without one, it is worth it. Yum!

Were on Marco Island for an extended weekend and happened upon this jewel of a restaurant the first night. I had the seared ahi tuna, others had the crispy duck and the nut encrusted tilapia. Everything was cooked perfectly with the most delectable sauces. Desserts were crazy good and all homemade of course: German chocolate cake, key lime tart, bananas foster, etc. We ended up coming back a second time two nights later. The service is very good and the chef personally comes out to be sure you are in food heaven (which you will be). You're just nuts if you don't give this place a try. You will be so glad to went!

The food here is outstanding. Good portion size. My entire family loved the meal. Unfortunately, we had to wait a REALLY long time for our food. The waitress, who started off doing a good job, basically ignored us once she realized the kitchen was backed up. Instead of telling us there would be a delay and offering us free apps while we waited, she avoided our table. I expressed my disappointment with how slow it took for our meal to come and at that point she offered two free desserts. Overall, a great place to dine.

My wife and I and our two kids dined there during the week of June 1st. We have been going to Marco Island for 18 years and were on a mission to find new restaurants. We dined out every night, so it was good to compare restaurants on the island. Verdi's is a good restaurant. It's a small place in a small plaza, so tough to find. Atmosphere is quaint. The service was overall good, but our waitress didn't have much of a personality. There was a latin gentleman floating around the restaurant who made up for her. The dinner salads were small. Spinach salad was excellent and good size. The entrees were generous and overall very good, especially the swordfish. There was a signature dessert (can't remember) that was delicious and sharable. Verdi's is relatively expensive (we had wine), but was in line with the value.

It's a tiny little restaurant hidden on Marco Island. Personally, the atmosphere didn't really do it for me. It was kind of upscale retirement home feeling, but hey... That's generally most things found on the island. The staff was friendly and attentive. We went for a friend's birthday. If you call ahead, they draw a cute birthday table decoration with confetti. The food: wonderful!! For appetizers, we had the warm baked brie and Island mussels in white sauce. Both are great! The white sauce makes a great dipping sauce for your bread. Don't forget to try their herb infused olive oil. Yum! It has a great aroma. We got 2 extra helpings of bread because of it! For diner, I had the chicken breast in phyllo. Normally I scoff at chicken breast, when going out to eat... but this was AMAZING! Flaky, golden wonderfulness from the phyllo.. then you get to the creamy boursin cheese.. followed by the most juicy chicken breast. Ugh, I'm falling...! (High 5 for you if you get the reference! ahah!) Try it! You won't be disappointed! For dessert., we shared the apple strudel with cinnamon ice cream. I've never seen cinnamon ice cream before. It's worth a try! I personally wasn't too crazy about the strudel. The food is more on the pricey side, but you'll have a great meal! Great place to have a quiet dinner. They even have mouthwash in the bathrooms in case you need to freshen up for that hot date.

Amazing restaurant! From the service to the food. 5 stars all around! By far one of the best restaurants and the owners and staff are so attentive to their customers. Madeline our waitress was wonderful. We wish there was a restaurant like this in Fort Lauderdale. Honestly we would make the drive just to eat here...its that good!!!

The highlight of the trip in food terms and in my personal opinion all terms was our visit to the restaurant "Verdi's" Everything was amazing from: service, food and wine. The duck pot stickers were absolutely life changing. Sauteed duck and vegetables, wrapped in a wheat flour wrapper and fried to perfection. It was served with a great hoisin sauce. The clam chowder was the best rendition i have tasted. Fresh little neck clams and most creamiest version with perfect flavor. Short Ribs were expertly cooked and were fall off the bone tender. Excellent flavors. The wife got the shrimp and scallop pasta sauteed in a lobster tomato gravy (I couldn't try it as i am allergic to lobster) and she said it's the best shrimp and scallops ever. I trust her because i trained her well :) To end the evening we got their Key Lime Tart. It had a cookie/nut crust and was the best key lime pie we've tasted and we get it anywhere it's available because it's our favorite. I am telling you folks, you have to give it a try. It was so good we tried to return the next evening prior to departing and it was closed that night otherwise i would have tried and reviewed several other items. For those who didn't appreciate Verdi's i am sure it was just an off day. If i lived in Marco i would pay those who had anything bad to say about Verdi's to go to their restaurant of choice. ***** (5 Stars)- Amazing, zero flaws, a must go! (Not given often) **** (4 Stars)- Memorable, strongly feel you should visit *** (3 Stars)- Above average, worth a visit ** (2 Stars)- Average, some pro's and some con's * (1 Star)- Opinion is do not go, below average

A hidden gem on an island of mediocre food. Located in a small plaza, we were concerned when we were the first to dine on a Saturday night. But, that's what happens when you have a two and a half year old. Our initial concern was put to rest by Verdi's attentive and courteous staff. Our daughter got the Hannah's chicken Alfredo which turned out to be an amazingly flavorful bowl full of pure yum. My wife got the phyllo chicken which was delicious and I got the chicken penne with sun dried tomatoes, spinach and artichoke hearts. Everything was really, really good and reasonably priced. Our family will usually return to our favorite restaurant at the end of our vacation. Verdi's is likely where we will go. Highly recommend.

We came with a large party which included families with some kids; I had the lamb chop medium rare which came with mashed potatoes and downed it with a bottle of Hook & Ladder vino. My date had the sea bass and she was happy with it. Food was well made, came out on time and the server was very nice & attentive. The wine list is OK, but not too many selections. I left feeling like the menu could have used more traditional dishes. I would definitely come again, but only after looking at the menu online first and making sure there is something on there calling my attention.

As our last night on vacation (2 adults and a 2 year old toddler), I wanted to find a great seafood place. Honestly, I also didn't want to overpay for it as we've been doing for most of the week on the island. A little more expensive than some, Verdi's is well worth every penny. The food was great - we had the pork prime rib and the shrimp and scallop entrees. Both excellent. My wife is from Iowa, aka pork central, so that's saying a lot. And, I FINALLY had great seafood. Granted, we're visiting during off-peak time here, but still... In addition to the food, the service was relaxed, helpful and attentive. Our waiter, James, is a rock star. During a couple points while we were there our son got a bit antsy. James went out of his way to keep our son happy - from bringing a side dish not normally on the menu to ice cream at the end - all the while so my wife and I could enjoy dinner. Bravo. Excellent food and beyond excellent service!

I came here with my family for a 5:30 PM dinner reservation. Thanks, Florida. Have you ever been the first party seated at a restaurant? I didn't want to touch anything...I felt like I was eating in a dinner museum. Verdi's is in a strip mall that doesn't quite do justice to the restaurant. Upon being seated, we were presented with mind-blowing olive oil. I didn't know there was such a thing. But their warm, crusty bread is served with herb and garlic infused oil and parmesan cheese. One of the best oils I've ever had. For appetizers, we had delicious duck pot stickers, and a warm baked brie that my sister and I fought to the death over (rest in peace, Ali R.). The brie may have been our best dish. Unfortunately, the entrees were somewhat less impressive. I got the chicken in phyllo, which was excellent, although the chicken broth at the bottom didn't seem to match the dish. The shrimp and scallop linguini was also very good but not quite my taste. The chilean sea bass and cannelini beans didn't quite work together. My sister got the swordfish, which was just an incomplete dish. It was beautifully plated but needed a sauce - it looked unfinished and was somewhat dry. For dessert, I had a strudel, which was good but unexciting, and two other people got ice cream sundaes, which were huge and apparently delicious. Overall, the service was excellent and we definitely enjoyed the meal, but the actual dishes didn't always live up to the menu.

Our first visit to Marco Island and we found a favorite of the locals. We got a table right away even though they were seating a party of 16. A great selection of by the glass wines to accompany a diverse menu. They have a short 6 enter menu for lighter diners as well as a 20+ main menu. My wife had a very generous shrimp/scallop entre with a gourmet red sauce. I had a blackened grouper over jasmine rice......tasty and well portioned. Thanks Yelp reviewers a definite 5 star for service, food quality and ambiance There is a small room for seating just off the front door. Though you have a view of the host stand and those waiting to be seated, this area is quite comfortable and a bit quieter than the main room. There are a couple of tables outside but they appear to be more a shaded waiting area than a place to dine. Perhaps in milder weather that might be a choice.

We were excited about checking this place out after reading the menu ....Ugg!! We walked in and was promptly seated in their parking lot sidewalk (place is in a strip mall) between the wall of the building a hedge and the hood of a car in the hot sun. Really ??? We walked promptly out!

ive been going to marco island for over 30 years since i was a kid. I have been to alot of restaurants here too. I hadnt been to Verdi's though even though for many years I wanted to. I went there last month (06/2013). We had a reservation and were seated immediately even though the guy that seated us really wasnt very nice and wanted nothing to do with us. We ordered wine , appetizers, entrees and desserts. Lets just say...my caesar salad and the bread with the oil was prob the best. I ordered the chicken in phyllo,,it sucked. I cant even tell you what the rest of our party ordered because thats how bad it was ..we were looking forward to dessert because the dessert had to be better than the dinnner...we ordered 3 desserts..bread pudding , a sundae and the bananas foster. We got the pudding and the sundae...after a while we were like wow the bananas foster must be amazing because its taking forever...we told our waitress hey are they still making our bananas foster,,she said oh i didnt hear that you ordered a bananas foster..she came back in 30 seconds with a burnt taste cold sauce with vanilla...i was like im done...we told our waitress that we were so surprised about eveyrthing and then the black haired guy came over said sorry about that and that was it. I will never go back to Verdis and I feel bad for anyone who does. That garlic olive oil bread thing was amazing though. Go anywhere else on the island..

My wife and I were in Marco island for vacation and we ate here for dinner one night. It was by far the best food we had our entire trip. My review is based on never even going here but here is why... ARE YOU OPEN OR ARE YOU CLOSED??????? We called to make a RSVP for a Sunday night. No one picked up but the message states that our reservation is confirmed anyway. We drove by and there was not one car in the place and it appeared closed. So we went somewhere else. Later when we got home we looked up the restaurant again and it said its opern Monday-Sunday. That seemed strange to us because no one was there. So we decided to go on Monday evening and again no one was in the parking lot at all. This time I even got out of the car and went to the door and it was locked. Another car pulled up and they seemed just as confused. They went the door also. We don't understand the answering machine, the hours on the site, etc... Not good for business.

Do not let the location give you second thoughts about trying this restaurant. Set in a strip mall on Collier Boulevard, very non-descript, and even the inside may make you think twice, but once your food is served, you will forget about your surroundings. I ordered the Sea Bass for which I have a fondness for. I must say, it was cooked to perfection and the best Sea Bass I have eaten. Served with fingerling potatoes and spinach. The presentation was terrific. My husband ordered the swordfish and my Aunt got the special of the night Salmon. Both were please with their entrees. For dessert we ordered the Cuban coffee brûlée, against the waitresses advise, along with the banana foster. My advise, skip dessert.

The outside was a little run-down, but the service was great and the food was superb. We had to sit under the stairs and we counted the people that went by. No fruit juices for the kids, but the food was delicious and the over-all dining experience was great. The presentation of the dishes were beautiful. I would defiantly recommend this restaurant.

Classy, friendly, great food & wine. Well worth the slightly pricey menu. Make a reservation. We were fortunate that they had room to make us a table. Although it is in a strip mall, you would not know it once inside. Our service was wonderful, our meal was hot and amazing.

Verdi's is hidden in a little strip mall but has excellent food and friendly staff. They were accommodating to all the various dietary restrictions at the table. Even though it was not on the menu, they mocked up a linguini and added grilled shrimp to top it off. Excellent!

I wish the Marriott hotel had free WI-FI in the room because I could have posted a review of Verdi's quicker than finding the free WI-FI in the lobby. Why doesn't Yelp allow reviews to be posted from their cell phone app? It only stores it for later. Makes no sense to me.. BUT... OMG.. Verdi's is a must to go and dine! We were greeted at the door by Vince who knew our name and promptly escorted us to our table. So far so good.Vince told us our waitresses name (Megan) and said she'd be right over and she was. We heard all about the specials, the clam chowder, the salad and entree specials.. the red snapper I thought was going to entice my son (who is 13 and loves fish) but he wasn't as hungry as he thought he was. I almost did it but the meatloaf The bread arrived and I tell you.. this is the best bread I have ever had in a restaurant. Fantastic! Borderline orgasmic! I had to stop eating because I ordered the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and I knew I wanted to take the bread and dip into the dish. So far so good! The kids for some reason weren't as hungry as my wife and I so the restaurant actually has on the menu half portions of pasta (pasta pomodoro). This isn't a quick boil add some red sauce and serve the kids type of pasta.. this is a tasty dish of elegance that I was praying they wouldn't finish so I could take it home to the hotel. My daughter thankfully ordered the full size portion and my son ordered the 1/2 portion with a Caesar salad. So far so good. The Caesar salad was amazing, I know this because I had one too. I had mine with anchovies, 6 draped across the top of the salad neatly arranged for a perfect 10 for presentation. The taste was finally what a Caesar Salad should taste like with large shavings of parmesan, I devoured it with a look to see if my son had some left.. but his was gone too! The meatloaf was precisely placed up high on a mound of garlic mashed potatoes with asparagus arranged on the top, vertically, was great presentation. The asparagus was tender but not over cooked, perfect! The meatloaf was covered with a mushroom and tangy tomato sauce that mixed well with the garlic mashed and meatloaf. There was no way I could finish this portion. So far so good. Shit, I ate it all. There was no way I could stop from eating it. I am serious, this was so good that I begrudgingly gave anyone at the table a small tiny bit to taste. My wife had the Chicken Penne with artichoke hearts and spinach in a garlic butter sauce that I prayed she would not finish so I'd get leftovers. YES, I convinced her that she should get the rest to go.. and I ate it last night cold in the hotel room. AMAZING cold as well as hot. So far so good. The food is such a treat here at Verdi's. We sat at the table trying to figure if we could come again this week, counting each day trying to see if we had an opening to sneak back to Verdi's before our departure. We're all booked for family and friends but are still taking it day by day hoping for a gap in our schedule for a return dining delight. The only problem I had with my night at Verdi's is that it had to end. This is such a treat to visit an establishment that has it all on the ball from making a reservation with Robyn, being greeted by Vince at the door (and he made another appearance while eating to check on us too) to the very accommodating staff (never had an empty glass of water at our table all night and we drink a lot of water). I love Verdi's!

The self-anointed "foodie" working the powersports rental shack at the Marriott pointed us toward Verdi's, which he described as his favorite 'special dinner' on the island. Nothing fancy from the outside (it is in a fairly nondescript strip mall) but, in his mind at least, a filet that you could cut with your fork. Well, the filet wasn't all *that,* but it was solid. If you are hoping for a high end steakhouse filet (think: Del Frisco's), you had better check yourself before you wreck yourself. The meat itself was maaaaybe prime, but probably choice. They did give it a very distinct and appealing flavor though ... certainly not a bad filet. And it is possible that it could indeed be the best steak on Marco. My wife wasn't complaining. What was fantastic, however, was the shrimp mac & cheese. Outstanding! We had dined at Cafe De Marco the previous night and were very pleased with how fresh the seafood was ... Verdi's shrimp blew that away. My wife had the clam chowder, and as a native New Englander she was very, very pleased with their cut at that classic. I had the grilled swordfish ... adding the garlic mashed potatoes was the right move there. The fish was done properly and was fresh ... but not necessarily notable. For dessert, the South Florida-ubiquitous key lime pie was very good ... Verdi's version has a unique crust worth a try. But the star was the cuban coffee creme brulee. Frankly, I was sick of creme brulee ten years ago. But not Verdi's! My wife got it and I tried to steal every bite of it that I could. Service was attentive ... nothing really stood out about it, but it was appropriate for a restaurant of this price point.

One of the best restaurants on Marco Island. They provided complimentary car service for us from the Marriott which was great! Brie/walnut appetizer was really rich but so delicious. It had some balsamic sauce which was amazing! They let you upgrade your salad and I had the caesar salad...it was pretty good but a bit too heavy on the sauce. They overcooked my steak and it was a major disappointment but my sister's grilled pork prime ribs were amazing! Juicy, perfectly cooked, and HUGE! Their prices seem a bit high but the place has good food and atmosphere so I will definitely come back when I return to Marco Island!

A business partner & myself dined here during mid-summer, on weekday. As the Island is seasonal, I was pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant was pretty steady. The service was good and the staff was very attentive. The food was equally good. Even though the restaurant is on the 'fine-dining" side, we slipped in with jeans, polo & tank. I wouldn't recommend such casual attire, but during the summer time, it's more laid back. I disagree with the other reviews regarding steep pricing. Marco is a small place and generally always a little more pricier than Naples. Their service and good food met the prices they charged. Very personable.

Another wonderful, delicious meal at Verdi's. Once a week doesn't seem like enough! The attention by all of the wait staff is superb especially James. Can't wait until next week. Duck pot stickers, mussels, veal chop and pasta dish....delish. Thank you to everyone at Verdi's. A must try if you have never been.

We planned to spend our last night in Marco eating the famous stone crabs but our catamaran tour ran late and we had to change our plans. I found Verdi's after reading several rave reviews. It is located in an unassuming strip mall location giving no clue about how wonderfully delicious our meal would be. Staff was efficient and friendly. My husband was beyond thrilled to find a veal chop on the menu and I sampled a phyllo wrapped chicken breast with spinach and Boursin cheese. Both were superb, and preceded by a house salad and bread served with a combo of infused oil, balsamic and grated cheese. Let's make sure we saved room for dessert....a yummy warm apple strudel served with cinnamon ice cream and a perfectly sweetened dollop of whipped cream accompanied by superb coffee. The location is small ; though we didn't need a reservation in mid October, I am sure it is necessary in January through April.. Decor is clean and crisp, a great romantic atmosphere.

Wonderful food - the excellent reviews led us to what may be Marco Island's finest. This small strip mall place defies its location - the food is superb. Reservation process by email was efficient, and the owner is very hands-on and caring.

Robin is great, the I food was ok, my filet was good but a little salty for my taste. I food that the kids menu really is just adult food renamed. I would recommend that if you have a kids menu with Mac and cheese the goal shouldn't be to make it 5 stars, just have plan Kraft Mac and cheese, if you have chicken fingers on a kids menu, have chicken fingers, not a breast cut up! The food was good the service I prefer to have a little better, it was a little slow ran out of drinks, bread and i think that should never happen. I do want to point out that I was with my 5 year old and not just for the experience. This is a great place for a adult place the eat and enjoy a bottle of wine!

My family and I spent a week on Marco Island on our first visit ever, and Verdi's came out head and shoulders above all other restaurants as our unanimous favorite restaurant on the island. We loved it so much that we went twice in the week. I had the swordfish on our first visit and the tuna on our second. Both were seasoned to absolute perfection -- nothing needed to be added to either dish. The swordfish was sprinkled with delicious pumpkin seeds and seedless grapes, and the tuna was drizzled with a sweet wasabi sauce that was a wonderful combination of sweet and spicy. A surefire recommendation, through and through.

My husband and I just had dinner at Verdi's tonight, and it was delicious. Julia our waitress was very knowledgable and helped us with our dinner decisions by answering our questions. Very pleasant young lady! The meatloaf was awesome and I ate every bit of it. My husband had the bone-in pork chop, so thick. He said it was great with the sauce that had apples in it. We shared the German chocolate cake--it was one of the best desserts I have ever eaten!! The young man that was hosting also made sure we were satisfied with our service and dinner. I am excited to go back with our friends and share this special place with them!

We came upon Verdi completely by chance. We were waiting for our car at the valet headed to some place the concierge was sending us and starting chatting with this 'snowbird' couple from Minnesota. They recommended Verdi's and we were very glad they did. It's warm and intimate (i.e., not touristy). We noted many of the tables were occupied by families represented by many generations. I had the mushroom crostini for appetizer and the filet mignon. The crostini was excellent. The sauce was rich and portion was generous. The filet mignon was cooked just right, moist and tender. A friend had the rack of lamb which I sampled and was also delicious. The apple strudel dessert, accompanied by cinnamon ice cream, was also very well done. The restaurant is owned and operated by a husband and wife and both of them checked in. They were very warm and engaging. I highly recommend you check out this place - very charming and high quality. It's clearly under the radar (not with the snowbirds though) since it has not been reviewed before.

I almost gave a five, but I'm a tough critic! I had the shrimp and scallops in red sauce. The seafood was perfectly cooked and the sauce was flavorful. My husband had the nut encrusted Tilapia with butter rum sauce, and he enjoyed it. My daughter had the swordfish with black beans and and salsa, which was light and tasty. The chocolate mousse was not really that great. It was really a flour-less pie of rich, dense, dark chocolate. The flavor was quite good, but the texture was dry and crumbly. We thought it was a good value for the money and the service was friendly and attentive. I'd come here again with no hesitation.

I was served a raw, not rare, lamb. It took 15 minutes to reserve, when the rest of my party was finished. No real apology and nothing off the bill. Never again will I dine here. Sorry folks, but even the chef when he cae out ignored my comment.

This is a great spot. Wonderful food, attentive service and decent prices. The outdoor seating felt private, quiet and intimate, even though it was next to the parking lot. They start the meal with warm bread and rosemary-infused olive oil. Our table of three ordered the duck potsickers and various entrees. Each were delicious. The house salad had a creamy, tangy dressing that I hope to recreate at home. My seafood linguini was great, plenty of shrimp and scallops, and a very flavorful broth. Our server, Andrea, was great. She made several suggestions (her description of the special crust on their key lime pie was so tempting, and did not disappoint) and was friendly without being overbearing. Love this place!

This place was GREAT! My favorite wine was available by the glass to start with. Each choice my husband and I made was delicious. Recommended to friends to go to another night and they enjoyed it as well. Only thing missing is a little variety on the menu which is not so bad at a small place. Service was friendly and attentive.

My husband and I ate here for dinner and had a great experience. We were seated right away. All of the staff that we encountered here were very friendly and welcoming. We were served warm bread with herb-infused olive oil which was very tasty. They only have beer and wine, but they have a pretty decent wine list. We both had an arugula salad that were prepared with dried cranberries, tomatoes, gorgonzolla cheese, and a vinagarette dressing. Very good! For dinner, my husband had the pan-seared tilapia, and I had the small plate nut-crusted tilapia. The small plate was plenty for me. Everything was well-prepared and very tasty. Unfortunately, we didn't have room for dessert , though some of their desserts going to other tables looked very good. This restaurant is set in a strip mall, and is small inside. The small dining room adds to the ambience and intimacy of the dining experience. Lori was our server, and she was very friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. I highly recommend checking out Verdi's. Food and service were great

This was a great meal! After reading other people's reviews we decided to try Verdi's. Start to finish this is a great restaurant. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding! I had the small plate rack of lamb. I ordered it medium and it came out perfectly. It was done enough ,but not overdone. The sauce was minty, but not overly so. My friend had the small plate of salmon and she said it was perfect. The veges were done but not mushy. We shared a bananas Foster for dessert and it was Devine...yum! We highly recommend this place for a great experience!

This was our second dinner here in the past 3 months and it does not disappoint. The setting is quiet and beautiful for an on-island dinner. Everything from the dipping oil to the desserts was fantastic! This is a new on-island favorite.

Best food I've had on Marco, and I've tried many places over the years. Highlights are the baked brie and baseball cut prime rib. Mac n cheese and potstickers are good too.

Great food, extremely polite service. The food should have been a bit more carefully prepared in terms of items. Three shrimps and two small scallops in a 30 dollar linguini plate is not appropriate. Great sauce and very tasteful nevertheless.

This is the nicest place to eat on the island. The bread served with olive oil and seasoning was delicious. The shrimp mac and cheese was so rich and delicious I was almost full before my meal! They offer light entrees which are a little less expensive which is nice, because I can't usually finish a large one on my own. The tea was served in really cool glass insulated cups. And finally the keylime pie was great! Only problem was we put the meal on two cards and they over charged one of them, but its since been resolved. Staff was friendly, and meals came at a good rate!

This is by far the best dinner that we had on the island. I had the "baseball" cut prime rib with mushrooms, onions, on top of garlic mashed potatoes. A horseradish cream sauce on the side that was a perfect accompaniment. Wow! This was better than most pricey steak houses. My wife had the rack of lamb that was cooked to perfection. We ended with the bananas foster; a real treat. The service was excellent and catered to my small kids. What a great surprise in this small town.

Thank you Yelpers for this recommendation - you saved us from, according to our car driver, a number of mediocre, overpriced places. Verdi's is a prized local jewel, apparently on a very short list of quality restaurants in the area. Of course it is probably tough to be great with only 16,000 year round residents to support you in the off season. Verdi's manages to pull it off with a comfortable bistro atmosphere, high touch service, and great food. Duck potstickers are a wonderful starter. The tuna entree was fresh and sushi quality, wonderfully seasoned light not overbearing. My companion's filet was prepared perfectly medium rare - don't have plans to return to Marco Island any time soon but will definitely visit Verdi's when we do.

Excellent! Seafood was fantastic, had sautéed Talapia & also Walu. Both cooked just right. Try the shrimp Mac & cheese appetizer. Desert portions are large. Key lime tort was very good. This is small comfy restaurant on the east side of Collier, has a small sign but well worth finding.

Four of us ate here a few nights ago and absolutely loved everything. Let's see, we ordered wine, which the waitress happliy brought two tastings for me so I could make an informed choice, duck potstickers, pork prime rib, steak, clams, pasta, bananas foster, German chocolate cake, coffee, and cappacino. All the food was exquisite as was the service.

I went to this place last monday with my wife, at beggining the smell inside didnt get me so good, I think they should have like candles, or something, but the food and the service its amazing, Manny was very servicial with us, which is great when a manager helps out the floor crew. I had the lamb rack and believe me, the decoration and the taste its awesome. If i come back to Marco ill defitely go to this place. Thumbs up!

Service was good. The food however, was ok, not remarkable. Warm bread and rosemary infused olive oil to start was a nice touch. The swordfish was overcooked and dry. Served on a bed of wilted lettuce and jasmine rice. No specials and out of the first two wines selected. Perhaps I have become spoiled with the five star dining in Miami, but I am not sure I would ever return to Verdi's Ok but nothing I would remember fondly.

Had a wonderful meal at Verdi's. Very unassuming from the outside. Interior is a warm, intimate dining room. It was fairly full the evening we dined there with a large party right behind us, but the noise level was remarkably low. My daughter had the mussels as an an appetizer, which she said were perfectly prepared. I had the special (and truly excellent) salad of the day with onion jam and Gorgonzola. Our entrees were the ahi tuna and shrimp linguine. The latter usually comes with scallops as well, but the kitchen easily accommodated my request to omit them due to an allergy. The pasta was perfectly cooked with a bright and spicy tomatoey broth. The shrimp were large and tender. The tuna was served rare and also reported excellent. We shared a banana foster dessert, which was a bit different than other versions I've had, but very good. They have a small, but nice selection of port for after dinner as well. The service was friendly and attentive, but not intrusive and the server very knowledgeable about the menu. Truly an enjoyed and memorable meal.

The only thing I don't like about Verdi's is it's proximity to the Marriott and all of the "visitors" there.

This week I dined twice at Verdi's and found the restaurant exceptional. The service was perfect, the menu interesting, the food preparation very good and overall delicious! The wine list was good. The restaurant has a bistro feel and the tables are spaced such that a leisurely dinner with good conversation is possible. All factors considered, the value was excellent. If there is a better or comparable restaurant on Marco Island I regret missing it.

As good as it gets for Marco Island definitely,. Im sure other people get this,.. but when you are so overwhelmed by flavors, scents, and textures that you start to buzz a little? The New Zealand rack of lamb with a bottle of reasonably priced 2005 Groth Cabernet had me just a tad worked up. Great staff and food, forget any of the hype surrounding surrounding establishments and make a reservation at Verdi's.

Summary: this is a good, quality restaurant, but it is definitely not 5 stars as compared to the truly outstanding ones. To be fair, It is near the top in Marco, I just expected more given the reviews. Pros: Good quality food, good presentation Staff very friendly and polite Cons: Very long wait (we were seated around 6:45, our entrees didn't come until about 8) No quality kids options. No juices of any kind. Pricey for the experience, I am not convinced the value is there.

My husband and I dined here, based solely on the yelp review. What a great little place. Totally out of the way, and beyond the tourist path. The place was filled with neighborhood diners at 8:00 pm. We waited only a few minutes, and began a sumptuous culinary adventure. Great grilled salmon with red seaweed rice and a sauce with a hint of chipotle. I sampled my husband's nut-encrusted tilapia nestled in a bed of garlic mashed potatoes; equally delicious--but the best part was the dessert--a sugar-free panna cotta with fresh strawberry coulis. It was absolutely out of this world. I will definitely be back at this place within the week.

Excellent meal. Leave the mis behaved kids at home and come here for the best fine dining on Marco island. This place absolutely delivers and although we brought our newborn it is probably the only place I would not bring a child to again. Service was great the menu was awesome as we couldn't decide between all of our favorites as they have everything you want. Definitely go here if you want the best fine dining meal on Marco.

We tried this restaurant after reading reviews on yelp. It doesn't look like much from the outside but we had a great experience after entering. The inside is decorated well and the service was wonderful. We had the baked Brie...which was very good. I had the scallop and prawn pasta which was amazing. My husband had the chicken dish. It was interestingly good. Nice wine selection as well. Over all a great eating experience.

Always rated among the top restaurants on Marco, this Bistro has a nice menu, cozy atmosphere and attentive servers. The owners are typically on hand and involved. The Duck potstickers are outstanding and a must try. All of the steaks are quality and very, very good and the rack of lamb looked to be outstanding and was a healthy portion with a beautiful presentation. The pork shop is typically delicious, except last night it was cooked very, very dry, think, well, well done. Not good at all and I should have sent it back. The waitress noticed, asked if we were ok, when we told her we were ok cause we did nit want to ruin our meal and deal with the waiting for new dish thing. She said we should be better than ok. She is correct as the pork chop was not prepared correctly and was not good. I know they can do this dish better so I guess I was not really crazy upset but was disappointed. Any place can have a bad dish go out, especially on one of the crazy nights ( New Years) so I judge on how they respond. In this case Verdi's responded by taking off the dish from the bill. This in not typical of a Marco restaurant as most would have ignored the issue charge you and send you on your way hungry and unhappy. For this and the fact that they typically deliver quality, I'm a loyal fan. Thanks Vince and team. My entire family frequents your place and you didn't know how many of us eat at your place when you handled this like a pro, but you have us all as loyal guest and we will continue to spread the word. Happy New Year!

First impressions are everything for me, and if it wasn't for this less-than-impressive one, I would have given this place 5 stars. All I can say is MAKE A RESERVATION. We found out later that many people are turned away simply because Verdi's is very small but has amazing food and service. When we arrived (without a reservation) we were regarded a bit curtly by the hostess. When she found a table, we were strictly told we only had an hour to eat. Ok, fine. We ordered the baked brie appetizer and it was to die for. The bread basket arrived accompanied with an herb-infused olive oil that made me swoon. My entrée was the spinach and feta chicken in phyllo and I almost fell over, it was so good. After reading some of the other reviews, we had to get dessert. Our waitress, the hostess, and the owner all recommended the chocolate lava cake, which was good, but I was in the mood for something else, so we also ordered the apple crumble. The best part of dessert and the perfect ending to this near-perfect meal was the cinnamon ice cream. The service was superb - we were visited by no fewer than 7 staff members, including the owner. Next year we will be making a reservation weeks in advance, and I encourage you to do the same. Absolutely amazing.

Watch Out! I got sick after eating the food. The service was unprofessional. While the menu looked high end, what was delivered to the table was really amateurish attempts at cooking combined with some store-bought pre-prepared ingredients. There is nothing organc on the menu. The food was overpriced for what you get

  • Jordan C.

The food was great and so was the atmosphere. A bit over priced but worth it. Everything my group had was really really good. The only drawbacks were the servers that seemed more interested in chatting than bringing orders (although the busboy did a fabulous job constantly filling up water). It's not a great sign when appetizers come out before our menus are off the table. The other drawback (at least to us) is that they only serve beer and wine (no martinis, mixed drinks, or scotch). You should definitely go there if visiting and looking for an upscale restaurant.
