High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.

The waitress was very rude and would make comments on the sly re everything we said. We even caught her talking about our table to the hostess. All we asked for were our drinks that took 15 mins to get. Only reason I came here tonight: 1. long day 2 stressful day 3. tired So with the above being said - we did not want to deal with paid staff being rude to the customer.

So Applebee's. I don't think it's anyone's first choice, but it wasn't bad for a drink after work in the Maitland area. We came with a large group (which I don't think they were expecting) and sat around the bar. The 2 for 1 drafts were a decent deal. The service around the bar was good and the bartender was well aware of people's needs, even when the seats were full. We ordered a couple of appetizers, including the pretzel and beer cheese, which was better than expected. I don't plan on coming back for lunch or dinner, but I would happy hour here again.

So yeah... Applebee's. Stood at the door 5 minutes, finally someone sat us... Then we sat for 10 or 15 minutes before someone finally asked if we had been helped yet.. Daughter ordered a lemonade which had a fly in it... Waitress apologized and brought another.... With a fly in it again. Ordered the food.. Burger for me, chicken rap for wife, french onion soup for kid. All seemed to share the same greasy film. Everything was soggy, musty, and disgusting; seriously worst food ever. To ice the poo cake some people came in who were sat a few seats down and someone in the party smelled like they hadn't showered in a few weeks... The waitress lamented "I know! They came here earlier today!". The moral is, that's the kind of sh@t hole restaurant this is... Where people with extremely bad body odor that everyone notices is welcomed.

Thai Shrimp Salad was so very awesome with the peanut sauce. There was another sauce but i can't remember. It was refreshing and really good. Applebee's I will be coming back for that salad again.

Came here with our family and the food was fantastic, how ever the service was slow, the server sat us asked us if we needed a moment and didn't come back for 30 minutes. Food came out she floated around our table but we didn't need her at that moment. She offered dessert asked if we wanted a minute we said sure she took so long we lost our appetite for dessert. I give it a three for food and a 2 for service.

Absolute worst dining experience ever! I just had the steak dinner, ordered it medium rare and it came out well done the replacement steak was cooked by the manager himself. It came out medium rare but the middle was brown (poor meat quality). The manager said he would discount the meal but didn't. I will never visit another Applebee's again! A waste of my time for what could've been a better dining experience at Sam Sneads across the street.

Every Applebee's I go to takes for ever to make anything. It's 30 min just to get my son's pizza. 35 min I'm still waiting for the spinach dip which only takes 5 min to make. That's why I always walk out of Applebee's. The only reason I'm here is to feed my son after a game.

Where do we start with this resturant ... From the moments you enter the musty smell overtakes the standard decor. Upon being seated at the dirty table i figured I would be in for a great food adventure. But Kim overcame the deficiencies of the restaurant and provided great service despite the sub par food,

Ended up here with some friends. You know it's Applebee's and as is it's already a mediocre chain at best. Poor service makes it worse. Sat outside food came fast but we had to wait 10 minutes for silverware. My friend was almost done picking at her food when she received her silverware. I ordered the perfect margarita which should have been called the not so great watered down margarita. It tasted more like the house margaritas which were 2 for one. I should have just went with that. My chicken and mushrooms were decent but the sauce that accompanied it was a tad too salty while the potatoes were not seasoned at all. Over all a very unbalanced dish. I would go with a cheaper drink next time since they obviously can't make a decent drink there. Otherwise I had a good time with friends which made the experience worth it.

Not much available in the area so we were glad to find Applebee's. The hostess was sour and seemed to resent our request to be seated at a table instead of at the bar. Fortunately our server was friendly and the food was decent. Hostess needs training in customer service because she's the first and last employee that guests see.

They get 3 stars because draft was 2 for 1, that's the only reason. I wanted a half order of the Mac and Cheese so I didn't go into carb overload and fall asleep at my desk after lunch. The waitresses response was 'we don't do that' followed up with a 'there's no button for that' ....OK....they have a small order on their lunch menu and I'm sure they have Mac and Cheese on the kids menu but NOPE was her final answer! In the service industry (especially restaurants) they should be willing to do whatever a guest asks within reason, get with it people!!!! I ended up ordering the wonton chicken tacos which came out cold!!!!!! Overall disappointed but not surprised, hence the 'Crapplebee's' nickname I've heard....

This is not a prank post. I went there in November. I got food poisoning so bad (I had eaten nothing before or after) I ended up in the hospital for THREE DAYS. There was no possibility of a virus. It was food poisoning. I was on an IV and tons of meds for days. I had to have TWO CT scans. It took a week to recover. The food poisoning was so intense that it triggered a brand new issue with my stomach and I have now been in agony for months afterward, 6. MONTHS LATER. This place is FILTHY and the bacteria I contracted destroyed me. Stay away!!!!!

I have eaten at this location a few times, but always doing a curbside pick up. It seems that they are a little slow, and unorganized each time I come to this location to receive my order that was called in. Hopefully in the future they will be able to cash you out when bringing your food out, instead of having to go back inside to cash you out. The food has been good each time that I have ordered. Maybe one day, I will dine in.

Tried applebees for the first time a month ago. Picked up take out a total of 3 times since. The first time was a chicken and shrimp honey pepper something.. it was actually really good. next time was a oriental chicken salad. compaired to ale house oriental chicken salad it wasnt all that great. This third and probably last time was chicken tenders, which look more like burnt turd. They tasted how I imagine burt turd would taste. To make things worse the platter is supposed to come with coleslaw and fries. As you can see from attached photo. No fries. So I got a screwed up order too smh.. on the up side 2 out of 3 take out orders were correct. If it had been 3 take out orders from ale house they'd all be wrong. the chips and dip would be good. but there's so much salt on the chips it kinda ruins it. Think McDonalds fries.

I am typically not a fan of chain restaurants, but since this was in the parking lot of the hotel I was staying at, I went here. It is actually the second time I have been here and both experiences have been pretty good. I love the 2 for 1 happy hour special on draft beers. I usually eat dinner at the hotel, which is what I did this evening, but was still hungry, so I got the chicken enchiladas. There wasn't a whole lot of filling but what filling there was is tasty. All in all, this is a nice place to grab some cheap drinks.

Love the new brew pub menu and fun local decor!!! The restaurant feels a lot more comfortable with casual collages of local college and high school athletes. It feels like a local pub but has the consistency of a chain restaurant. I had the penne with chicken and a bowl of french onion soup. My son ordered the chicken tenders and enjoyed his ice cream sundae for dessert. Our service was great and we will be back again!

My husband and I stopped in for much. We got the Take 2 for $10.99 - Salad wedge & sirloin. It was perfect! Just the right amount of food. Service was quick fast and friendly. It's always wonderful to go out to Lunch or dinner with great service atmosphere and company!

Stopped in for a quick drink and to study for a minute between hockey games at rdv. Conrad was my server and he was excellent. Didn't try to rush me out, gave me time to make my selection and made it feel like stopping in mattered. Will definitely return because of this experience.

I end up here because it's the closest happy hour option to my office building. It's your standard Applebee's, but that's not necessarily a good thing. Not bad, just meh. The staff have always been friendly, which is great, and the wait times haven't been unreasonable either. The food and drinks, however, are just really "eh." Usually my group just orders appetizers to share, which is fine, but it seems like they're overcharging for what you get. At Chili's you get free chips and salsa in the bar area, as well as free refills on chips no matter where you're sitting in the establishment. I really wish Applebee's would do something similar to that. That would make up for how an order costs $4.50 and isn't even that great. Another complaint I have is that the drinks are pretty inconsistent. I ordered regular mojitos once and had one that tasted like a mojito and one that tasted like soda with barely any rum. The bar is already set pretty low since it's Applebee's, and it's sad when an establishment trips over a low bar. Overall, it's the only thing in the area really (besides Silly Grape, which is a never again) and Sam Snead's, which is too expensive for us peasants. Decent, but certainly not somewhere I'll seek out on my own.

Horror of all horrors! Stayed at hotel right next door last night so walked over for dinner. It was Karaoke night with a DJ. Incredibly loud, no servers in sight except the one singing. Drunk customer singing and spewing profanities over microphone. What a terrible experience. Finally walked out after waiting 15 minutes for drink order.

I came here last night around 730. I sat in a booth by the door. I can't remember my waitresses name but she had blond hair. She was awesome. Super nice. Food came out fast and tasted delish! Great service to end my trip to Florida.

I totally agree with the previous Yelper's reviews. Went there after work for a few drinks. For a Friday night it wasn't busy at all. Ordered the nachos, which were huge and looked tasty, but not so much. Wasn't really sure what kind of ground meat was used. Just wasn't right. The drinks are always two for one. Pricey! The service pretty much sucked. I would rather have an over attentive server than one that doesn't show up at all. It's doubtful i'll go back by choice.

I like to eat out at restaurants more then fast food joints, I had previously seen the commercial advertise for Apple Bee's, two people eat for $20 bucks that includes one appetizer and two entrees. My though.. a rip off other places offer the same but with a DESSERT! First time at this Apple Bee's located in Maitland just over the I-4 bridge near the RDV sportsplex. I had a burger here with some fries and some of the other people i came here with had a steak with some sauce, the burger was cooked pink when I had asked well done and the steak was over cooked when it was asked medium. It is obvious they can not follow directions here or just misunderstood how we wanted our steak/Burger. Over all the burger was nothing to great as the meat was nothing special and it looked like it was cooked in five minutes and then they just tossed some toppings on there and some fries, the fries? nothing that great but much better then the burger. I had a frozen lemonade and that was probably the best thing out of my meal, we had an appetizer too, Queso Blanco dip(white cheese dip) with some tortilla chips that were a bit salty and the dip was a bit watery and did not really bring much for what you pay. Experience, the staff was friendly and even one of the managers came over to see how we were and the food, the place was clean and the food came out quick but the food over all was nothing special to remember or write about so I give this place three stars. Improvement on there food could be helpful to raise the rating here as I can see not many people rate it higher then three stars. I had no problem with the staff as far as friendliness and how quick the order came out just lack of taking our order right as far as how we wanted our meat cooked, good thing I did not get sick.

It's what you would expect from Applebee's. The atmosphere was typical. The waitstaff was very cordial and accommodating. I was very pleased with our waiter. The food was good. I hadn't eaten at an Applebee's in several years prior to this experience, and the food did not live up to my memories. That's not to say it was bad food. I just remembered it being better. Overall, it was a good experience.

Don't really eat here but came during lunch with some coworkers. I got the pick two with soup and pasta. I love the pick two combo options since you get a small amount of both. Food was ok. Nothing special. Service needs improvement. I asked what the soup of the day was, waitress wasn't sure. How do you not know what the soup of the day is! Then it's oh I think it's broccoli and cheese. Come back 5 minutes sorry that's not the soup of the day. Food came quick. One of my coworkers loved his burger. I probably wouldnt pick this place to go but wouldn't mind going to try other thinned on the menu.

This place is pretty much your standard restaurant for this kind of food. Nothing special, but nothing awful. We went there for lunch. The front desk had four people working at it (really? 4 people??), and the same person asked us three times how many in our party. We were the only people in the lobby; there were two of us. All four seemed pretty inattentive. The dining room could use a good cleaning. The carpet made our part of the restaurant smell like stale drinks the whole time we were there. Really kind of unappetizing. It helps that it was local, but not so sure we'll go there again.

I don't usually do chain restaurants but I was with a friend and this is where she wanted to go. When I perused the menu I was pleasnly surprised to see low calorie options for food AND alcohilic beverages. I still got a vodka diet, but it was nice to see. I did end up getting one of the "under 550" items on the menu, (sirloin and shrimp?) and it was good but salty. The low grade here is for the service. It was pretty bad. Our waitress would disappear for a LONG time before returning to take a drink order or our food order. We just wouldn't see her for long periods of time. She didn't even come to check if we needed anything with our food when it arrived, (which I did) so I ate my veggies sans hot sauce. Better service here would get a better grade.

It's Applebee's, nothing too creative to write. Food is off the back of a Sysco truck, the decor was corporate, but the service saved this outing for me. It's nice to know that even in a corporate chain, some people still really go out of their way to do a good job. Food wise, my friends and I split an appetizer sampler. The boneless wings were great, everything else was generic with a batch of some finely "aged" chips to go along with the lukewarm Spinach Dip. For drinks, we ordered some incredibly watered down Long Island Iced Teas. I can't complain about my meal though, I ventured and got the French Dip Sliders and was pretty impressed.

Food is what you would expect, microwaved, generic, cramp inducing. I have a huge gripe with the drinks "specials". the waiters push 2 4 1 specials but don't mention that the price of 1 is more than you would pay in a downtown club. Only went because I had a gift card, in hindsight I should have sold it for half its value.

We live outside of Maitland so this place is very close to us, but we only went once about two years ago. We went again today and had wonderful service (despite these other reviews, but I guess Mondays are different), and the drinks and appetizers were okay. However, the entrees were terrible. I couldn't even finish mine. Lesson learned. I had a microwaved trifecta of grilled shrimp that tasted like burned plastic wrap, with gross broccoli and rice. My husband's "quesadilla burger" looked like it was assembled by a three-year old and his fries were so brown we thought they were three years old too. Maybe I sound spoiled but it was just that gross. I would have rather spent $40-something bucks on a trip to Publix.

Wish I could do 2.5 stars....I mean, Applebee's is good, but it's not fabulous! The pictures in the menu ALWAYS look better than the actual food. But, it is pretty quick and good for lunch. This particular time I ordered the pick 2 lunch special and I got the French Onion soup which was really good and the Oriental Chicken Salad which was also good, I've gotten both items before. But the portion is sooo small! I left there still hungry and it was $8.99. I can think of many other places that I can spend about $9 and I'm so full, I can hardly walk! So, all in alli it's ok, but there are other menu items that are good and you at least get a good portion to full your belly!!

The hostess so busy talking to a seated group of guests that we had to say something to get her attention. She sat us at the very first table we came to and some of my silverware was dirty. When our waitress came over she was actually digging in her ear while taking our orders. Thank god someone else brought out our food. I got the cowboy which was very greasy with extra salty fries. My sister got the riblet platter and that was very underwhelming. After that our waitress spent the majority of her time at a table next to us. The only time she came back to our table was when the table next to ours had a problem with their food. It took forever to get our dessert ( I had the chocolate mousse shot and my sister had the sundae shot, not good either). Now they have a policy that if a manager doesn't come to the table before your check you get a $10 voucher for your next visit ( also thank god I can go to another location.) When I inquired about this our waitress just described the manager and he had walked by our table 3 times and never stopped. The waitress called him over and he seemed like he didn't care. He just gave us the voucher then walked away. He didn't try to salvage our visit at all, so we will NOT be returning to that establishment. I almost wish I could give a minus star to this place. I hope other people have a better experience than I did here.

Since I was staying next door, I decided to go here for a quick bite because I was too lazy to drive somewhere. I tend to shy away from chains like this, simply because their foods are always so typical. Well, this Applebee's didn't disappoint. I opted for the appetizer platter because I was hungry and just needed something to eat. The platter included mozzarella sticks, chicken quesadillas, spinach and artichoke dip and boneless wings. The spinach and artichoke dip were demolished! I have to admit they did a great job making sure it wasn't too soupy and full of that tasty artichoke. By the time I finally finished the dip, my cheese sticks had gone cold. So, I didn't even bother with them. The quesadillas was the first thing I tried before demolishing the dip, and felt they should have named it a cheese quesadilla. The chicken skipped class this day. Finally, this was my first and last time having a boneless wing. This concept has never quite set right with me and Applebee's helped confirm my concerns. They were just some breast, deep fried and smothered with a salty buffalo flavored sauce. Not good at all. Oh well, I will continue to stay away from these establishments. Unless I'm looking to have a cheap draft, which is the reason for the 2 star rating.

This location has some bad reviews but I've always had a good experience at the Maitland Applebee's. I go there for lunch with my co-workers every now and then and I've always had decent food and fast service. My rating of this place is based mainly on their efficient service. One thing to keep in mind about this location is there are several large office parks nearby so they are SALMED for lunch. So if you're looking for a place to have a quiet relaxing lunch this probably isn't the place. No matter how busy they are I've never had to wait for more than 10 minutes for a table. The service is bare-bones and the food comes out quick, which is usually what you want at lunch. The last time I was there the waitress dropped the check when the food came out. That could be misconstrued as her rushing us out the door but I found it very convenient and appreciated her efficiency. As far as the food goes I'm not really doing summersaults over it. I usually get either a chicken salad or a cheesesteak. There's nothing phenomenal about the food but it's not bad either. It's about on-par from what I expect from an Applebee's.

I'm not going to describe the layout and menu selection since it's pretty basic and standard of other Applebee's. What I will say that is in all the times I've been to this location service has been severly lacking! Waiting 10 mins to be greeted by your server and then an additional 10 mins to get your orders placed is pretty bad. No it wasn't super busy either! Typical of a late Friday night I guess I should have anticipated the lack of service also! The food is OK. The only really great thing is that the late night happy hour special that starts at 10pm!
