Great restaurant. I was worried because the lack of cars in the lot, but I'm glad I took the risk. It was exquisite, even the taco shells were made by hand! Would definetly come back

Amazing wait staff and the food was so amazingly delicious! I ordered a homemade sangria and the flavor was perfect. The blue margarita was a lil bit salty. I will be back for sure!

This was my first time here an I really enjoyed it! It's the same company as the one in Orlando, but I have never been. The food came out super fast! The table side guacamole was amazing and fresh! I only ate half of my dinner because it is so much food! But it's a great price for all the food!

I always enjoy eating here When I'm in town visiting my parents. The service is always good and friendly. The salsa is great, the queso is delicious! I ordered the arroz con pollo and it is a new favorite. Delicious lunch!

Good food, food service. Authentic Mexican food with a family touch. Very surprising for Leesburg.

Tasty, tasty, tasty! I had a chimichanga, unlike any chimichanga I had ever had, and was pleased with the difference. The sauce was flavorful and the beans were "interesting" (not quite sure what I would call them, sort of liquified re-fried, and a spoon was a must. being from San Antonio, I'm not quite sure what i would compare this to, but I liked it! The place is clean, the service pleasurable and I recommend you "give it a go".

This restaurant was great!! Everyone loved their meal. Fish tacos were so tasty. Huevos rancheros (on the lunch menu but you can order it for dinner) was delicious. Fajitas yallarta was awesome. Our server Martin was amazing. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Everything was fresh and homemade.

Competent Tex-Mex at its best, Tex-Wreck on this visit... It's ok if you have a work colleague that needs Mexican food and will bust through your cubicle wall to get you to go there, but otherwise Habanero's is not an essential visit. My Speedy Gonzalez was served rather quickly and it tasted like the same amount of care was taken prior to service. The Mexican rice and the sauce covering my enchilada was cool instead of hot. My taco was a little better than Taco Bell's in quality and the Jarritos orange soda was appropriately cold. Next time please take me to the Tijuana Flats across the street. Tijuana Flats does a much better job with the lunch staples Habanero's is trying to cater to and the servers are much...ummmm..."friendlier" ;)

You may think that barbecue is king when it comes to restaurants in rural Central Florida (and you may be right). However, authentic Tex-Mex cuisine is a very close second, and very few restaurants in the Lake County area do it better than Habanero's. Habanero's is a local chain, and thankfully, they've set up shop in Leesburg. Their service is quick, prices are moderate, portions are generous, and the food is just as delicious as it is authentic. The most expensive item on the menu is about 14 bucks, and that's a steak dinner dish. Most meals are between 8 and 10 bucks (the lunch specials are even cheaper). So skip those other overpriced wannabe Mexican restaurants that all fall "flat" (you know who you are) and head for the border (of Leesburg/Tavares) for some REAL Mexican food!

We go to Habaneros at least once a month and often take many friends with us. The food is excellent. The service is excellent. The margaritas are the best we have had in Florida. Just wish it wasn't 45 minutes away - but well worth the drive.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
