Made a reservation and went. Great food. Nice date spot. Had some Italian wines you won't see around. Solid menu with a good price.

Formerly the location of Corelli's, which was a really good sort of homespun Italian family type of pasta and pizza restaurant, I was fearful of its closing and replacement with La Cucina Café, but after trying La Cucina, With the exception of continued good Italian food offerings, La Cucina offers an entirely different dining experience. The interior has been completely remodeled, far more upscale with its white table cloths and sparkling hand wiped glassware, but with comparatively continued reasonable prices. From a review of their menu, besides being strictly Italian, it's primarily pasta and pizza based in its offerings but very complete along with a good offering of salads and Italian appetizers. On my visit I went for their special of clams and mussels over linguini with red sauce and a glass of Abruzzi red house wine. The wine came first, a generous pour and of true to tradition Abruzzi nose and taste, which was followed by a serving of a nice bread along with a bowl of olive oil and balsamic for dipping. When my entrée of clams and mussels over linguini came I was immediately taken by the fact that it came loaded with plenty of clams and mussels, all of superior quality being large, plump in size, clean in flavor, taste and prepared just right in rich thick and flavorful red sauce and eye pleasing presentation. After my meal the Chef/Owner, Enrico, came over to my table, introduced himself in most friendly manner and made a sincere inquiry as to how I enjoyed my meal, which I did. So, for a true to flavor Italian in the local Lauderdale-by-the-Sea area at a decent value, difficult to beat.

Back again and why not. Authentic, fresh Italian. Octopus and Scampi, Burrata and dry meats for anti pasta. Fresh Mahi Livornese and home made fettuccine with shiitake and cream. Fantastico.

Stopped in for a late lunch and was greeting by chef/owner Enrico. Was in the mood for pasta and he suggested the homemade fettuccine in a light tomato basil sauce and for my partner the Puglia orecchiette in broccoli rabe. Delicious! Ended our lunch with a tiramisu and espresso... Can't wait to go back for dinner and try more dishes. The renovations made this place clean and modern!! White table cloths and nice wine glasses! Prices are good for the quality of the food!

We stopped in Feb while in town for a conference. We'd been two years before under different ownership. We weren't sure that we had the right place. It had been completely remodeled and was much brighter and cleaner than when we were there before. It was near or after closing time but the owners were friendly and welcomed our business. My wife and I both had pizza. They were both fantastic. Hand crafted, beautiful works of art. Only wish we lived closer. This would be a regular stop for us.

This is our new favorite restaurant! Wonderful authentic Italian food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Every time we come here the food and service are consistently wonderful. Everything is fresh and tasty. Reservations are recommended, but they have accommodated us as walk-ins.

I have eaten at La Cucina on 3 occasions and have had a great meal each time. The owners, Enrico and Claudia are just delightful. The pastas are homemade with 2 exceptions and while I have not tried any of the pizzas, they look and smell wonderful as they are brought to table. They have an excellent octopus salad on offer--great for sharing as are most of the appetizers. They carry some wonderful wines as well. It is a great spot and I look forward to going back again.

So disappointing. We were really hoping to like this place but all we had was wine since they were literally OUT OF EVERYTHING else- out of pizza(half of their menu is pizza) fried mozzarella, eggplant, out of several pastas-RIDICULOUS. We were part of the 1st seating on Mother's Day and the restaurant was was empty besides 1 other table, so how can you be out of stuff?!? The female owner was incredibly arrogant, cold and condescending, once she noticed we were disappointed with the lack of choices and she keep telling us that it's ok that they are out of so many items because they make everything fresh and that's what they are known for....It's funny because the only thing anyone really knows them for is that after they bought Corellis their reputation for food and service got so bad, they had to close the restaurant and rebrand and reopen. Needless to say, it ruined my Mom's Mother's Day...Such a shame, hoping for a good neighborhood Italian spot, but this won't be it.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
