This place does many things correctly. If you are a craft beer fan, or even judged a competition or two, you will be happy with the rotating craft beer list on both draft and bottles. There were beers here that surprised the hell out of me with their appearance. The service is outstanding. Our waitress, Hailey, did a bang up job. I was brought tasters of beer, the menu was well explained, and she checked on us the right amount. The wings were incredible. My girlfriend and I actually had a debate whether they were fried or baked because they were cooked perfectly. The wings might have been the stand out of the entire meal. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and my girlfriend ordered a Stromboli. Our impression was that the entrees with both really good but not outstanding. For the price point I couldn't really complain. My girlfriend thought the Parmesan cheese on top of the Stromboli that already has ricotta and mozzarella was too much. My only negatives were the fact that it is loud and the entrees weren't pushed into the outstanding category but I don't think it's enough to subtract a point. We are definitely coming back to explore the rest of the menu and have some great beer and wings.

Let me begin by stating that the food here is great! The service is awful, though. The most recent time I've visited, I was told by Olivia to sit outside and someone would be with us shortly. After 20 minutes without a server, I go back inside to ask what's taking so long, and Olivia forgot to tell anyone about my party. Fast forward to tonight... ordered some food for delivery at about 8:00, they said I'd get it in 40 minutes. An hour goes by without a delivery and I called back at 9:20. The bimbo answering the phones never fucking put my order in! No apology, manager was "too busy" to speak to me. So here I am, at 10:00, still waiting for my meal. Teach your fucking employees how to run a restaurant. This is bullshit!

Love love love Mike's. Been here probably a dozen times and it never disappoints. First off, the beer list is incredible. It is large and has so many awesome craft selections. They have flights too for $7.50 which I always seem to go for because I can never make up my mind. Their red sangria is also super delicious. I've only ever had salad, calzones, and pizza here. Would skip the house salad, nothing to write home about. The calzone I had once was HUGE and delicious!!! The pizza is always super!!! I've had a number of different kinds and I always find it to be delicious. Cooked well, fresh veggies, good sauce, etc etc. Garlic knots also wonderful. Service has always been good too. They also have 2 slices for $5.00 which is a great deal because their slices are HUGE. Definitely go here if you have not yet!

We ordered garlic knots, baked ziti with meatballs for the kids and shared between my hubby and I the chicken Parmesan. Everything was piping hot and delicious. The red sauce used is tangy and homemade. I also had a side salad and they make the most amazing in house italian dressing, I even bought some to take home!

My uncle recommended this bar to me because of its beer list and excellent pizza. Without his advice, I'm not sure I would have ever stopped at a spot with so many large, glowing neon signs. From the outside, I expected a total dive bar, which I usually love but I was really hungry and was not craving bar food. When we stepped inside the bar, I was shocked at how different the vibe inside was... cool decor, tons of large-screen TVs, and several tables. The staff is friendly and we enjoyed good service throughout our time at Mike's. we tasted quite a few beers from the long list, which has a varied selection from several local breweries as well as The pizza is really good. We went with the Italian beef because it was the most unique - really fantastic flavors.

Damn good pizza. Decent service for a packed place. Excellent beer options although the staff didn't know anything about the beers, weird. Lots of TVs and moderate noise level. Went there with two little kids and had no problems. They are open to making a custom pizza order off menu and everything we ordered was hot and delicious. I'd go back.

I have had delivery from here when I need to carb load for races and training runs. They take a bit longer to deliver than the promised time, but the drivers are always nice. The personal pizzas, garlic knots, and salad are all good. The baked ziti was kind of weird looking and the cheese situation in it was pretty serious, but I didn't hate it. Overall, I'd get food from here again. I got a crazy amount of food for a decent price.

I was in the area with my mom for a long weekend vacation. We were doing some driving around when I came upon Mike's Pizza & Pub. What made me want to stop in was their impressive list of craft beer. It appears that there is both a restaurant and a bar where most of the beer is stored. The bar part wasn't open but the restaurant was. This was an impromptu trip, so I was glad to see that they were open at 11. Yes, I was on a mission to find some good craft beer at 11 am. I was on vacation, don't judge me haha. I looked at the taps at the bar and was disappointed to see just the normal Bud, Miller, Shock Top, etc. The waitress then informed me she could go to the closed Mike's next door and get us whatever we wanted. While waiting for our flight, my mom and I put in an order to split a slice of pizza. The slices are HUGE and they cut it in half to make it easy for use to share. The pizza was good but on the cold side. If I am ever back in the area, I look forward to checking out this place again!

In florida, the hawks are in the playoff's, of course we had to find a Chicago bar to watch the game at! Mikes was a cool place, they actually have two building, a restuarant and a bar. We stayed at the restaurant for most of the night and were lucky enough to get a table right in front of the tv for the hawks game. The service was great considering we were a large group of obnoxious Chicago hawks fans. They were very accommodating. The food was great, I got an appetizer called "garlic Knots" something i've never had before, which doesn't happen often. They are basically small soft gooey rolls, smothered in some kind of garlic covering, and accompanied with some marinara dipping sauce....amazing! I also had a Panzerotti which was great as well. it was nice to have some Chicago caliber food while in FL. They also had a pretty big beer selection. Once we finished eating, we moved to the bar building to finish watching the many overtimes of the game. The bar section was cool, lots of tv's and very new/clean inside. I will say they only sell beer and wine in there, no hard liquor. Id definitely give MIkes a try, especially if your visiting from Chicago!

I guess good pizza in Florida is hard to find? That's what I've heard and also my experience so far. I'm from the northeast and good pizza is found all over. So I guess my 3 star rating would be in comparison to NE pizza and if compared to FL pizza, it might be 4 or 5 stars. Mike's is supposed to be good for the area, so we decided to check it out. It's located in a strip-mall type area with NO parking. They actually have free valet parking there, which was strange to see. The place has a really cute courtyard outdoor seating area, which unfortunately was closed for a private party that night, so we chose to sit on the front sidewalk instead, which is nicely decorated with huge wooden flower boxes. The pizza was ok. Pretty good, I guess. I wouldn't really describe it as thin crust, or thick crust either. It also wasn't crispy crust. It was more doughy and chewy. The amount of sauce was moderate and it wasn't overwhelmed with cheese. The waitress was extremely friendly and the wait wasn't too bad. Prices were reasonable and their house red wine was surprisingly tasty.

We came here cause it was a "Chicago" bar and it was game one of the Stanley Cup Finals (#becauseitsthecup oh sorry wrong social media site) and we wanted to watch the hawks. Great beer selection, outside patio was great. The garlic bread rolls (or whatever they are) were very good, they came with some sauce/gravy...whatever. I ordered a Stromboli supreme, oh god did that fill me up. We stayed until the end of the second overtime and left to make it back before the third overtime. I would go back, the food was very good and very filling. No one complained about what we had. And we come from Chicago, where we know good Italian food.

  • Steve S.

well we gave this one a 3.... we have been there now 3 times ... 2 twice was great.. good ... reasonable food and friends good service.. just went last night and asked if we can sit on the patio and were told sure..(it was 930pm so wasnt crowded) the girl at the order tables said i will get "him" right out .. 5 minutes.. 10 minutes passed .. shes still on the other side of the glass from us less then 8 feet from out table and looking outside... and no service .. we left without being served and went elsewhere.. so IF you can get service you will have a good meal at a good price... good luck hope you catch it on a good night

I visited Mikes Pizza as it was listed on my dining for miles program. I would say it is closer to a pub, that happens to have pizza avaiable. They have many beers on tap, however not a large wine selection. The service at Mikes was great. The waitress was very friendly, and helpful with selections. The pizza is average. It is a thin crust type pizza with a crispy crust and slightly chewy edge. There weren't a lot of toppings placed on the pizza. The garlic knots are large, and have a great texture. The amount of garlic however is missing. There is tons of butter, and parmasian cheese on them. I would say Mike's is OK, but nothing to write home about. I would visit again if I was with people that want to dine there. However I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

Been ordering takeout from Mike's for a year and a half and first 4-5 time the service was fast and the food was great. Within the last 6 months, however, the quality of the food, the speed and accuracy of the service and friendliness of the staff have gone from bad to worse. We always like to support local businesses, and we always give 2nd chances before we complain. But when the staff and the management convey attitudes of indifference upon hearing of the decline in service and quality, that's when business is lost. What used to be an amazing little gem of a restaurant has lost yet another customer.

  • Rob F.

I order from Mikes quite a lot and the food is great, everyone in my family has their favorites. Personally I think they make a great cheesesteak and, if I'm in the mood, their pizza is good too. I like that they deliver and do carryout very quickly even when they're swamped. If you can get a seat the beer selection is GREAT. The three star rating is solely because the place is tiny. If you get a seat you're sitting a foot from another table. Great food, but I never dine in.

WOW! What a surprise!!! Don't know how I've missed this place for so long. Great friendly service. Great atmoshphere with a high end finish and most importantly great food. Love this place and will return again and again.

I was very impressed with Mike's. I was visiting Largo on some business and I saw Mike's across the street and undecided to give it a try. I was greeted warmly the moment I entered the building. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. My pizza was absolutely delicious. I ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza. My only complaint was that there could have been a little more sausage on the pizza. Everything else was very good. I appreciated that the pizza was not swimming in grease, as is sometimes the case when I order pizza. If I'm ever in that part of Largo again, I will definitely visit Mike's again.

I drove by Mike's pizza on my way home from work. I see in giant flashing lights "Gluten Free Pizza". As someone who is very recently diagnosed with celiac disease. I was very excited. So, as soon as I got home. I called to make sure. I was placed on hold for over 4 minutes. Which is not that big of deal. When the agitated girl got back on the phone. I asked if they had a gluten free menu. Her response was very short. She states " We have a gluten free pizza made in a non gluten free oven". I was confused, as to what the point of that is. I said "ok..." She then said "ok, have a good night". I have worked in hospitality for many years. Way to run off many customers. This is such a common disease. Very unprofessional.

The whole place is really good but This is specifically about the pub/tap house. This place is badass. It's small and cozy but not cramped. The tap house has tables and a large wrap-around bar with tall, comfortable bar chairs. The have a large +/- 40 tap craft beer menu, with many of those beers from around Florida. They also have an impressive bottle menu. My favorite part about this place is the Flight, a 4 beer sampler with which you choose 4 beers from the tap menu, write your choices on the sampler tray, and they bring you back those 4 beers to try. You can also just order a glass or mug of any beer you want. You can order anything off the menu from the restaurant part of the place and they bring it to you at the bar. They have a great food menu and the food is always awesome. Service is always great, bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable and always attentive to customers. They have several large flat-screen TV's on the wall with various sports games playing. Fellow customers are always friendly as well, I've had many good conversations here with complete strangers. Great place to go.

The owner got in touch with me over this review. We exchanged messages and I decided to give Mike's another try. He is very concerned and wants to make his customers happy. That is a very positive sign. We will give it another shot and I will report back on the progress. We have probably spent over $2000 in the last year at Mike's Pizza but I don't think we will order from there again. The food has absolutely no consistency. We have had Caesar salads made with iceberg lettuce and sent without pasta salad. We have received deliveries missing orders and usually it's delivery time plus 1/2 hour. The pizza crust is either very good or you may as well have ordered from Papa Johns. For the most part the food is tasty but there are plenty of other places that deliver that will be consistent. I will miss Mike's wings but I can not take their poor service any longer. We really have given them 2nd, 3rd, 4+ chances. I ordered $125 worth of food for Super Bowl and am a very generous tipper. Sad. I am sure the management has no care about these revues as I have voiced my concern there before and it's fallen on deaf ears.

So went back twice (I don't review in a single visit) and sat in the bar building in front. I admit garlic knots were better than when I swore off this place a few months back. The place was clean, server friendly and good selection of beer including local brews. The wings were good. I tried a few sauces because they let you buy just 5 if you want. Really liked the Thai or Asian? sauce, it's sweet and goes well with the beer I had. I always enjoy the roast beef sandwich here (and at the other Mikes). Get the pasta salad, they use she'll pasta in it. The pizza was also better than a few months back. Maybe a new cook? So if you're in the mood for a good beer, remember there's more than just pizza here.

Love this place. Great value, nice setting. We go here time and time again... Plenty of TVs for sports watching... My faves are the garlic knots, greek salad and spinach calzone, but plenty of other good choices too...

Such great pizza! I live in Tallahassee, and whenever I drive home to visit my mom has a pepperoni pizza and Greek salad from Mike's (which happens to be up the street from her house) waiting on me. My favorite!

Great atmosphere with lots of beers and taps to choose from. Also a full food menu and sports on the bigscreens

Solid pizza and good beers. We needed a good dinner after a long beach day and this hit the spot well. 2 adults & 2 kids (10 & 12), we sat in the beer garden which was sweet and had fun games. Service was excellent. Would come back in a second. Don't be thrown by the proximity to the gas station. Mike's is super!

We haven't been in Mike's in a while. I had the Chicken Parm. It was overcooked, I should have sent it back. Husband had the turkey, it was supposed to be a turkey club and it wasn't. Only positive was our waitress was really sweet. We left her a nice tip. Food not good!

Mike's was my favorite pizza place, and to this point a regular customer. But the last 3-4 times I've ordered, my food has been grossly overcooked, pizza black on the bottom, wings fried till they resemble wood chips. but I loved Mikes so much , this last time I tried saving the pie by ordering it underdone and uncut . But they made sure they burnt it anyway. thanks Mikes ,you win I'll find someone who can make a pie without burning it .very disappointed.

Good place. Good pizza. We especially like the white pizza, though a bit rich. Also had the supreme and enjoyed it. Thin crust but crispy on the bottom. The garlic knots are OK, very garlicky, but a bit heavy (bready). Their grilled chicken salad looked very good. Very reasonable prices. Pizza much better when ordered and eaten there... it loses something when I've done carry out. Always friendly and efficient service. Nice beer selection, more than the domestics. Looking forward to returning.

Pretty good. But the teeny bopper/ hooters vibe is creepy. Am I getting pizza? No need to treat me like a dog that needs a laps dance from a fifteen year old with every sandwich. Maybe just try to make better sandwiches.

Another casual night out favorites. Had our grand opening celebration here. Great pizza, wings, and calzones. Salads are good too. beer flights are fun. Wine options limited. Lots of TVs to watch the games. Limited parking. Great service. Very friendly team!

    (4)
  • Kerry O.

Above average food, but great brew pub. Many craft selections and an extremely friendly staff. For out of owners like me, all the sports packages so you can request your team. A+

  • Victoria B.

I been here many times when we come on vacation, I have not been disappointed even once I read some of the other reviews and they must be just plain haters or competition restaurants The service is great, fast and the servers are very attentive If you are into craft beers this might be the place to be. Their variety is OUTSTANDING! They have the typical crafts but they also have an extensive unique beer list. Calzones are on point, and the chicken salad sandwich is one of my faves! Love me some mikes!

  • Michael R.

My go-to pizza house. I go out of my way to eat here. The tap house on property has great selection as well. You will not be disappointed!

  • Mariah E.

Not even slightly impressed with Mikes. We went in around 6:30 when it was not busy at all and waited for about 10 minutes before even being acknowledged. Meanwhile, another party at walked in and the waitress immediately grabbed menus and took their drink order. And then came over to us...hmmmmm...we ordered pizza and I was not impressed at all. It tasted like a frozen pizza and had nothing special about it at all. Overall, the restaurant had a good atmosphere, crappy service, and mediocre food at best. I definitely won't be returning.

Pizza great, 5 for $10 domestic buckets amazing. Being able to celebrate Chicago and watch the hawks on vacation perfection!

Some of the best lasagna I've ever eaten. Pizza is good too. Very good service and very reasonable prices.

  • J B.

This review is strictly my opinion and my love for thin pizza and very thick pizza. I don't like "in between" thick pizza or Pan pizza. The banana peppers were delicious and the speed in which it was baked was great. If you like normal pizza with no pizazz then come on down...

    (2)
  • Alecia B.

Ordered pizza and wings last night. After 45 minutes our order was ready. Thank you for the burnt pizza and the wrong wings. What a waste of $40. Never going here again, to bad because they have a great beer selection.

  • Tracey R.

Love, love, love the pizza. The boneless wings were pricey but TEAL chicken breast. The service was VERY friendly. I don't give 5s often, but this pizza is a favorite. Small but worth the wait.

Love this place. Great pizza and a large selection of craft beer. There is something for everyone. I come here often and have not been disappointed except when Parmesan cheese was put on my Margarita pizza !

  • Richard N.

I tried Mike's for the first time, mostly to check out the beer selection and I was not disappointed. (I went into the tap house, not the restaurant next door.) They had a huge selection, including many IPA's which I am a fan of. They had a cider too which my wife likes, and a selection of domestic bottles, which my less adventurous friend stuck to. The food was awesome too. The garlic rolls are simply incredible and the margherita pizza was one of the best I've had. Really nice decor, clean. It's an upscale pub setting with a lot of TVs. I definitely recommend it, but if you have kids it's better to go into the restaurant instead of the tap house.

  • Jessica R.

We just moved to IRB recently and have already eaten at Mike's twice. The white pizza with meatballs is AMAZING and we love being able to try lots of kinds of beers by getting a beer flight. Last time we tried their wings and they were great. We will definitely be back!

    (5)
  • Jim E.

I went here over the weekend after seeing they had 40+ beers on tap. wasn't sure what to get so our server offered a flight. That allowed me to sample 4 different beers and I ended up deciding on a local IPA that was awesome. I ordered the margherita pizza and 20 wings (try them blackened!!!) and everything came out exactly how I wanted. The pizza was thin and crispy, the wings were well done and both were the best I've had in the area. Overall, the staff was friendly and I never had to wait for another beer. I was able to get one of the many tvs turned on to the game I wanted to watch and the prices were much friendlier than what I've seen elsewhere and with a better quality of food. If you're going to the beach, try this place!!!!

Family all the way!!!Great service, awesome small production wines, craft beers, an exceptional array of food with multiple seating areas that include Al fresco, a Main Dinning Room and a separate Tap House with over 20 beers on Tap! The atmosphere is clean with a slightly modern flare. The use of wood and stone create a wonder feeling of escape and allow one to enjoy time with family and new friends. My favorite is the Margherita Pizza with a glass of Montepulciano D'Abruzzo.

Always good pizza. New York style. They now have a Tap House in the small building in the front parking lot.

Great place for pie and suds! =) Wonderful list of beers. Definitely do the sampler! (Order by number with the waitstaff!) The pizza is definitely tasty, says this CT/NY local who was visiting retired parents. =) Delicious garlic knot that came with a side salad. Lovely waitstaff and even a visit from Mike himself to check in and welcome us. That won my folks over- they will be going back many times, I'm sure. Worth a trip!!! I even heard about a 2 slice for $5 deal? I might go back to FL just for that!

Great little pizza place that offers a large selection of craft beers! The pizza by the slice are huge pieces, and at $2.99 you can't beat that. We ordered 2 slices for the kids and for my husband and I, the white pizza with spinach and chicken. So so good! Crispy crust that had the right amount toppings. My husband ordered a flight of beer which was $7.50, awesome price for craft beer. We'd definitely come back here again if in the area on our next vacation!

Excellent!!! 5***** Ashley was our server and she was great! I had the Greek Salad with Garlic knots and it was very good. .Hubby ha the 10 in pizza with pepperoni and it was cooked to perfection! We seem to always forget about this neighborhood restaurant and now I have made a note on my smart phone to come here more often. Customer service is wonderful. The young folks that work here seem to take pride in their service.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
