This place is a decent choice for lunch or dinner. Many seafood options. Lots of deep-fried food, though. It seems like that is pretty standard in the keys, though.it's seem to have pretty good reviews on yelp and trip adviser and was recommended restaurant by locals. I was a little disappointed given these high reviews. The place was not terrible but nothing to write home about. It's a good restaurant, but not a place to intentionally make a destination.we had Stone crab as an appetizer as well as artichoke and crab dip. Had a couple of fish sandwiches. The food was very decent. I have nothing bad to say about it. It wasn't mind blowing, though.

We had a very nice lunch there...we suggest any of the fish sandwiches...not a very busy place so the service was spot on.

Spectacular service and warm, genuine hospitality. Yellowtail snapper was fresh and well-prepared; hogfish special was one of the best pieces of fish I've ever had. I'm sure their Key Lime Pie is good, but their homemade rum cake was spectacular - take my advice, get the rum cake here and the key lime somewhere else. An unexpected delight in Key Largo where a lot of places are overpriced, touristy or both.

Great spot - food is the best in key a Largo - staff is outstanding. The owner is a veteran of the Iraq war and is completely on top of what is going on. If the line is long - it's worth the wait. Better yet - go early. The flatiron steak, the mahi mahi quesadillas, and the seafood specials are wonderful. Go!

This place really did not impress me. To be fair, we did not order any of the seafood so I can't speak to that. Ordered the jerk chicken salad which was mediocre and served with pure ice burg lettuce (big no no). It was served with pita bread with melted mozzarella that was tasty, although I'm not sure why you would serve that with a salad. Also ordered some sort of chicken sandwich that was impossible to pick up and eat. The chicken lacked flavor but ok once I added salt. The Caesar salad was served with too many parm cheese slices and too salty.

Very nice staff. Went off the grid a bit and ordered the dolphin Reuben. Mahi mahi, cole slaw, Swiss and Russian dressing on multi grain bread. Definitely different. Couldn't finish the entire sandwich. A bit too heavy but the fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. Wife had a shrimp and scallops Caesar salad. Nice twist and very tasty. Our friends had the Cobb salad with a lobster tail in the center and the jerk chicken with fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers. Salads were ok. Lettuce seemed a bit mushy. Chicken was cooked great.

Loved the pasta paradise with Mahi Mahi and Cajun waffle fries. Went there straight after snorkeling at John keenamp national park.

All in all a a decent place but nothing extremely grand. The spinach and artichoke dip was good, but served with cheap flimsy tortilla chips. My girlfriend loved her broiled sea food meal. I ordered a vegetarian pasta, and thought it was only so so (however I realize I am the odd-ball out vegetarian eating non-sea food at a sea food place). Our server was adequate, but seemed very rushed. I have nothing bad to say about this place at all, but overall didn't strike me as a place I would go back to a lot.

Recommended by a friend. Great food. Specials looked great. I had sampler platter which was tasty and hubby had steak sandwich which he really enjoyed. Tap beers cheap but nothing I drink. Nice stop! Not too pricey and good portions. Service ok

More of an American restaurant than a "new american". A family friendly but noisy atmosphere. The food is what you would expect if you come in hungry, it does the job. Had the soup and some French fries and it was ok. Skimming through the menu, it is a bit on the fried and unhealthy side but all things considered the service was not bad and the price is good.

Hobo's Cafe doesn't look like much from the outside, and maybe even from the inside, but the food is delicious. Of particular note: conch fritters and Key lime pie. Both are among the best in the Keys.

After a morning of snorkeling my friend and I decided to stop here for lunch. The reviews seemed promising and we were excited. We loved the fact that it was so clean well kept and the owner was so friendly and made sure everything was going good. The waiters were knew and we could tell they were being trained but they were still awesome!! Now, for the food. They have highlighted items on the menu and I'm all about trying the "go to" items at each restaurant so I ordered a lobster and shrimp po boy sandwich. My friend ordered the NY sirloin steak sandwich. I've had a good share of po boys and I was honestly disappointed. What I got was bread drowning in cheese with crab shrimp and veggies -- the seafood was definitely fresh but was lacking seasoning. The sirloin sandwich was pretty good as well but was nothing out of this world. The waffle fries are AWESOME!! And finally..... The best part of the meal! KEY LIME PIE ---- it is a MUST HAVE! That's all I'm going to say. Overall it was a pretty good experience but I just wish it would've left me WOWed considering it was top 3 in the rates restaurants in key largo.

Not cheap, but great food and great service. Our party of 11 got many different dishes, and all were great. Highly recommended!

Stayed in Key Largo two months. Hobo's is our favorite restaurant. Great food, great service, great prices. Most of all the Staff is friendly & make you feel like your the most important people.

Top notch food and service at Hobo's! Get here at happy hour for some of the best wings in the Keys! They also have happy hour specials on clams, peel-and-eat shrimp, and beer of course. Great place to catch a game as well. The servers are great at tending to customers, and always keep your drink full at all times. Will be back again!

Wow, there isn't much to say about this place from its looks...but you're in for a hell of a treat with the food. We bailed on dinner at the Marriott (ridiculous prices) and headed to Hobo's on the Yelp recommendation. Nobody in our group of 8 was less than ecstatic. The burgers were terrific, the seafood was delicious and unique, and the prices were totally reasonable. They accommodated our large party happily, we're extremely pleasant...all was good. I highly recommend you stop in.

I'm a regular here. Been going for 17 years, since their old location. Not much has changed, which is a good thing because their good is great! And they have good specials! Every time I have people over we always take them here. Great fish sandwich! Definitely recommend this place to everyone! Update 1/29/15: quality and portions have changed. Considering coming here less.

Love this place. They have the best food and exceptional service. I personally believe it's the best fish sandwich in the world. Their Key Lime Pie is also delicious and taste as homemade as possible. Their service is also outstanding!!! A must visit when in the keys.

First night in the Keys and Hobo's was the perfect place to start off the celebration. Everyone was so friendly - even the other customers. Ashley, our server, helped us navigate the menu for our gluten-free companion as well as recommend some of her favorites. I had the Hobo Shrimp over pasta. Delicious! I nearly licked my plate clean!!! And don't forget the Key Lime Pie - it was the perfect balance of sweetness, lime and whipped cream. The casual atmosphere of locals and snowbirds, great food and service, along with the fantastic Ashley, will get our business and check-ins again in Key Largo. Thank you Hobo's Cafe!

  • Tracy A.

The conch fritters are great. Lots of chewy conch. Not a lot of filler. Husband got the Dolphin Reuben and really liked it. I picked the Lobster Shrimp Po Boy and did not love it. Way too much sauce (honey mustard?) and I had a hard time finding much shrimp let alone any lobster. I wish I had picked something else. The waffle fries were ok. The location is easy enough to find but you don't get a great "Keys" feeling. It's like any other restaurant that could easily be located in Minnesota (aside from the seafood menu). The service is great. They are really attentive and very sweet. I would recommend other places if you're headed to Key Largo

A pal of mine told us they had some of the best Key Lime pie in Largo so we headed over at the end of our trip to test her theory. When in Rome, right? After acquiring a whole pie and a can of ready whip, we waited an hour for our friends to get back to our rental house before starting without them. And then angels were singing. I am not a Key Lime pie kind of girl, but this stuff was so great I was literally moaning into my plate and splitting a second helping with my hubs. We hesitated before leaving the rest of the pie in the fridge for our friends... Which I only kind of regret. Kind of. Hail, Lord Hobo, patron saint of Key Lime Pie. Our blessings go with thee.

Buffalo chicken wings + Cold beer = perfection. Best chicken wings!! Fish dip was best I've ever had by far.

We are so disappointed in Hobo's. Our family owns a vacation home here in Key Largo since 1993. We have been coming to Hobo's since forever! We always loved it, from the service to the food. This past summer (2014 through now) the service and food quality has faded in quality dramatically! This summer we ordered some Mahi dishes and you could taste the salt more than you can taste the actual fish! it was horrible! Today, we placed a take out order and 2/3's of the order was missing and we unfortunately noticed by the time we got back home! My husband had to drive back and ask for the paid items. I also called to give the heads up to the employees and all they could say was "oh, ok, sorry." really? that's all you could say? $22 later? 7 fried shrimp? french fries and a soda? You lost us as customers! we will share our experience with all our neighbors and friends on our canal. It's such a shame you have treated us like this! :( VISITORS: don't waste your time going to this place. It's not the same as it used to be. You will have much better experience going anywhere else on Key largo! you will love Conch house instead! hopefully Hobo's changes management and revisits what damage they are causing to their reputation.. little by little!

OMG this place is my new favorite spot in the Keys. HANDS DOWN. We went for dinner with a crew of 11 people (we all stayed on a houseboat together - lets just say there was a lot of alcohol involved. But I digress) and we came BACK here for lunch the next day because it was so amazing. We all shared food, so here we go - Hot wings. Best sauce and best wings I've ever had. No, really, like ever. As I think about this I wonder if I can head down for a day trip just to eat here again! Escargot - Oooey gooey full of garlic, herbs, mushrooms, and cheese. Delish. Grilled Mahi Caesar salad - fabulous and HUGE. Like, GINORMOUS. Would have like a tiny bit more dressing, but meh, we devoured it before we had time to ask! Tuna Ahi wrap - Best. Sandwich. EVER. Ahi tuna, wasabi saice, seaweed salad, and teriyaki for dipping. What an amazing blend of flavors! Burgers - Spot on and juicy and delicious with fresh toppings. Lobster and Shrimp po boy - Enough said. Tasty and fresh, and they did NOT skimp on the seafood! Mahi Quesadillas - Delicious and cheesy and full of fresh fish. Kids tore them up, and the adults couldn't help themselves! Key lime pie - Best so far in the Keys. Unfortunately, the father south you go the more likely the fish and pie are frozen. This wasn't so at Hobos. Oh, and ask the manager about the cherry peppers. We have a running joke about how the owner must have had a cherry pepper canning facility that failed, and he has 367342849856 cans of cherry peppers left, because they put them on EVERY DISH. Like, as in, a garnish. It's hilarious. They sure are tasty though!

Drove down for a nice vacation and first time in the Keys, so was looking for a great "Keys" style place to stop for lunch. Well.. Hobo's was decent. Our food was kind of cold when it came out ( the nacho's appetizer) which left A LOT to be desired. The waitress was really nice though! We ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Po'boy which sounded delicious! Unfortunately, it came with a slew of onions (which I had asked the waitress to not include in my order) and had a funky sauce that did not taste at all like the mustard sauce described on the menu, and the lobster was great but there was about two small shrimp on the Po'Boy. The waffle fries were to DIE FOR though! They may have been beer battered? Decent place overall, but not what we were expecting or looking for..

A great relaxing tasty meal. We have been here twice when anchoring in nearby Tarpon Basin and I highly recommend Hobos. Food is cooked to order and very tasty! Don't miss what the locals know. After 22 years Hobos is here to stay! Bathrooms - spotless! Michelle on the bar is the best! Ron, the owner truly cares!!

It's good... Go and support local business. The owner, Ron, came out to personally greet and chat with us... Wonderful man doing good for the Keys. My family and I literally dropped by 2/17/14. We hadn't looked at review sites, and subsequently we were pleasantly surprised. At 8:30p on weeknight a couple patrons sat at the bar, two tables were full inside the dinning area, and we sat outside near a different group of folks. As we're accustomed to doing, we asked what was good and ordered the seafood dip (spreadable seafood mixed with cream cheese... Decidedly local, unique, and good!), Mahi Mahi quesadillas (also very local, fresh, and good), and interesting their BBQ (the server said Tuesdays were BBQ night-- 2 for 1--so we had pulled pork and ribs, both we're succulent, although the sauce dominated the pulled pork). Finally we tried the Key Lime pie and "death by chocolate" cake. Both good, and the key lime delivers a la merrange-style v. cheesecake. The restaurant is clean, bathrooms too. Inside and out it's sparsely decorated, painted with rather plain beige/neutral colors. The patio looks out over a gravel driveway. Aesthetically, it leaves something to desire but the food is on par with nearby Mrs. Macs.

Oh Hobos, your name is so deceiving! I would have imagined a little hole in the wall place with greasy food. Not at all! Came in with a large group, not once, but two days in a row. With a table of 11, there was a lot of food shared at our table. Of course we had to try what everyone else was eating. That's just how we roll. Let me just say, there was not one thing that I didn't like. If you're coming down to the keys, plan on stopping in to eat here. You will not be disappointed! Great food, great staff!

  • Sam K.

We have family in the Keys. Every time we go down this is a must stop for me. Great food, my favorite being the smoked fish dip. They also have great burgers and wings. Get the curry raisin sauce if you get the fresh catch. I dropped a star due to meh service on our last visit.

  • Melissa W.

Bland food, spotty service, and lots of mistakes. Calamari was really rubbery and tasteless. They forgot to put dressing on my salad. Drink orders messed up. Not big things, but with so many restaurants in the area, it's not worth visiting.

Stopped by for a late lunch after visiting the State Park. Food was outstanding. Huge portions. Must try the wings. Angie, the waitress, was outstanding. Very attentive and fun.

Got the Rec from the Dive Shop at Pennekamp for a locals place. We scored with this place. Tried a bunch of appetizers that included wings: both BBQ and Cajun. Happy hour alert: $0.40 each for wings or clams. Great deal. Also had conch fritters and steamers. Kelsey was out wait person and super-attentive and friendly! Definitely will visit again. Sat outside on the patio.

Best coconut shrimp ever! Grouper is equally good. Will definitely come back. Also have a great kids menu. Lots of choices for everyone.

The service and food could not be beat. As a person from Buffalo I could not believe their wings were even better than Buffalo wings. The fresh fish meals were hearty, delicious and in expensive. A must visit.

Great restaurant I'm a local and is the best restaurant in the upper keys.Always great service great food .

Another reliable local family restaurant. Portions are huge, service is great. I wish they did more stuff with boneless buffalo, but hey. Decent prices too And PS, think about making those waffle fries fresh and you'll have a path beaten to your door! Thanks for being our place!

  • Paul J.

Don't order anything "crusted" in coconut...... It's full on breading and it sucks! The veggies were tasteless..... I won't be coming back.

  • Kennia R.

Great for a quick bite to eat on the way to the keys! Sitting inside is a bit cold and outside seating is limited. Do not order the house wine it's not that good. However the wine prices are pretty reasonable as well as the food.

    (3)
  • Leslie H.

Good solid food at reasonable prices. Tried the conch fritters since it's my first time in the keys. Pretty good deep fried balls and spicy mustard dip. Basically it's just hiding the chewy conch pieces (fine with me). Had sloppy hobo burger - sautéed mushrooms, onion rings, potato strings, BBQ sauce, pretty good. Husband got hobo shrimp. That dish was way too buttery/rich - it was actually swimming in butter. Prawns were great but too much butteryness overall. Clam chowder and garlic bread both good. Lots of choices that sounded good on menu and on others plates.

Delicious and reasonably priced. We had a hard time finding good food until we are at Hobo's Cafe. All of cleaned our plates.

This was our best meal in Key largo yet! Prime Rib was cooked to perfection to accentuate the flavor and served with just right garlic mashed potatoes. The steak sandwich was covered in garlic, draped in cheese and on one of the best sub rolls ever. With a side of horseradish and au jus it did not last long. Bruschetta chicken sandwich and the Woodrow chicken sandwich which included a sweet wonderful bar b que sauce rounded out our meal. Would recommend all the dishes. Plus, save room for a slice of Key Lime Pie it was the best we had since we got to the keys. The service was beyond excellent and left us wanting for nothing. Friendly and fast on a crowded night. Cost wise, sandwiches very reasonable in $8 to $10 range and Prime Rib special was reasonable at $25. I guess only complaint was the prime rib side of Cole slaw as I would have liked a fresh veggie instead but slaw was tasty.

  • Anuar A.

Definitely one of the best Seafood places down here. Dad ordered Louisiana seafood sampler, had a big piece of lobster, scallops, shrimp, and a fish filet. Mom ordered the hogfish. I ordered the crab stuffed yellowtail. Every meal was amazing, large portions, impeccable service, waffle fries and slaw were awesome. Oh and the appetizers, the lobster bisque bread bowl is a must have. The coconut shrimp came with like piña colada sauce which was great and the appetizer sampler was awesome too. Couldn't go wrong with any desert. Love this place! The burgers are good too.

  • Alexis T.

Friendly place, service was good. We were told that the ribs were "fall off the bone" tender. We had read all these great reviews on Yelp. But----ehh---very unimpressed with the food quality. The baby back ribs we're dry, tough and lacking flavor. We had to cut them off---they did NOT fall off the bone. Maybe Hobos should stick to local fare, or not offer ribs if they don't do them right. We LOVE baby back ribs and have ordered them many places, even chains like Marie Callendars and TGIFridays and they were a lot better than Hobos. Nice staff but I wouldn't recommend it by what we ordered.

We went here three times during our recent trip to Key Largo. During one visit, I had the hobo burger with a side of onion rings. Both were excellent, and I couldn't finish the burger. On our next two visits, my hits and had the seafood del mar. Everything was perfectly cooked, and the key lime beurre blanc was amazing. I had sicilian chicken string one visit and key lime chicken (which was a special) during another visit. Both were fantastic with juicy chicken and just the right flavors in the sauce. The portions are very generous, and prices are quite reasonable. Share if you can!

Love this place. Great food, and great service. Brought in some fresh fish we caught and they cooked it for us any style we wanted! Blackened Redfish topped off with some of the incredible Key Lime Pie. Yummm.

The food was great ! The staff is superb with great tips and very accommodating . We sat at the bar and our bartender Ashley made the best recommendations . I had the mahi mahi Cesar salad . And for dessert the key lime pie . Delish . Grate prize . Great quality . Will return before we depart

This place used to be good, but over the last few years it has really been on a downhill slide. Wait staff is friendly but service is poor. We come back every so often with the hope that things will improve, but the food generally has not been good. Also, on our last visit we were not told that there was a $10 up-charge for our choice of fish from the menu so our poorly prepared $17.95 fish dinner actually cost $27.95.

We swung in here after a long beach day with two little kids and not only was the staff fantastic and sweet to my 2.5 year old but the food was great! Trust them on their specials and hi lighted specialties in the menu. I had the snapper sandwich with artichoke hearts and it was delicious. Sweet, Local-y scene, too.

HOBO'S is a smaller very casual no frills place that many locals seem to go , and after going there we know why. The hostess was very welcoming , the. menu priced fair, the servers all seem to work well together like a well oiled machine ,the food was fresh , tasty and plated well. I ordered the shrimp and lobster roll w/ cole slaw and an extra order of sweet potato fries and it was outstanding. This sandwich was recommended by another review , however it's on the lunch menu only and had to ask about it for dinner.... I didn't take pictures as many do , because it didn't have a chance once It hit the table I devoured this tasty creation , my wife is s salad junkie so of course she had the Ceasar salad and that was good to , the buss staff was so attentive . Our plates were cleared quickly ... then it was time for desert , our server came out with plate of homemade goodies , we chose the Rum cake w/ ice cream , (and you can taste the rum in this one) once again it was plated excellent with a drizzle of Caramel sauce, A dollop of whip cream wit a fresh strawberry and a scoop of ice-creme. Ala mode extra After our desert the owner just happened to stop by our table . I asked about his background and he mentions that he has been schooled and worked in Las Vegas on the strip and it shows . This is why we we will be back. - KUDOS TO HOBO'S. Thank you for the "GREAT" Friday night dinner. JIm & Koz Algonquin IL

Delicious mahi mahi sandwich, plus a tasty side of creamed spinach. So good, I returned the following evening and enjoyed the same meal once again before departing Key Largo. Meals were served hot, with attentive and friendly service. Definitely recommend!

Some of the best entrees we had during our Keys vacation. The sides were not as spectacular......not bad, just not spectacular. The servers were super nice, friendly and patient. The kitchen has a slight timing problem as entrees arrived way before the sides. We will return because the entrees were outstanding!

Here's a tip: When ordering the onion ring loaf appetizer please understand that it is not an appetizer, it is a commitment. You have been warned. I ate here with my husband on the first night of our Florida vacation. We couldn't decide where to eat but the reviews for Hobo's convinced us to go there. Service was friendly and efficient - all the staff seemed to get along and help each other out and there was an atmosphere of camaraderie. My husband had the "your way" burger which he enjoyed immensely and we both really liked the French fries. I had the fish sandwich based on reviews recommending it. The fish of the day was the Mahi-Mahi and it made for a very nice Panko breaded fish sandwich. Total decadence. We topped the meal off with the Peanut Butter Blast pie, which we totally demolished.

  • Deserae Z.

So nasty! The coffee tasted like it had been sitting for days and the food was not good either. The waitress was friendly but overall the atmosphere was a little weird. The waitress asked if we were ready to order three times in five minutes. Perhaps she was bored with nothing to do? We stopped here because of the good reviews on yelp, but our experience was not the same. Drive a few more minutes south and you'll see some better cafés and restaurants in the area.

Found Hobo's on our way out of town. Casual atmosphere which was perfect after a long day of diving. The service really sets this place apart. Vanessa, the manager, made our mouths water describing tonight's specials, and my husband ordered the seafood casino and loved it. Plenty of food, full of fresh seafood and delicious. Chrissy our server was super friendly and always ready with whatever we needed. Ask her how to pronounce conch--she's got some funny stories! My hobo seafood rocked--the fresh mahi mahi was delish. The homemade key lime pie Chrissy and Vanessa brought out when they heard it was my husband's birthday was to die for!

  • Michelle L.

Awesome!! Everything we ordered was superb! Grilled blackened mahi fingers, loaded baked potato soup, mahi quesadillas, conch fritters (must try!) 2 iced teas and 2 key largo ales for ...... $40! Enough said! Ate like kings for a nominal price and everything was delish.

We were expecting a burger/fry/beer join. What we got was sooo much better. My husband needs a gluten-free entree and we have 2 kids, 13 and 9. We all were able to find yummy options for a reasonalble price. While it's not on the water, the service was warm and friendly. The kitchen was slow but, hey, we are on vacation. Our food was AMAZING! Hubby had Louisana Seafood Combo and it was awesome (he does NOT give that review lightly). I had the catch of the day coconut style and it was wonderful as well. Kids had kid food (chhesesteak and hot dog) but those were good as well! Key lime pie and death by chocolate topped off the evening! Awesome choices! We will be back! Yummmm!

I checked this place out after a long day in Key West and I was heading back to Miami. I had their burger. It was pretty big and a pretty solid burger. They've got a huge menu with a wide selection.

Conch fritters, meh. Tasted scorched, although not fried hard. Conch was present, barely. All in all, a bad showing for a member island of the Conch Republic. Went so the wife could have fried fish (who knew fish could be so hard in the Keys? Oh, for the days at Joe Patti's in Pensacola long ago). The wait staff and supervisor were very accommodating and extremely nice, but my lovely wife is allergic to shrimp and alas, shrimp is fried in all the fryers. Lamb burger was pretty ok, mahi sandwich wife ended up with was bland, but on the upside the kid's chicken fingers were spot on! Bottom line: the three stars are for how awesome the staff is. The food is noteworthy only in how blah it is.

Really great food, good prices, fast service. We had a terrible experience down the street the night before, so this place was a definite change of pace. Cute place, food arrived very quickly and the menu prices were very affordable/

Great place for burgers, seafood, or other good eats. Friendly service too. Not a flashy beach scene, but good local food.

Nothing like the old hobo's that was at mile marker 104. Sad change for Key Largo.

Stopped here for lunch after our paddle boarding tour at Paddle! the Florida Keys, which our tour guide recommended. My husband ordered the Hobo's Fish sandwich with snapper instead of mahi and waffle fries. He was pleased with his choice of getting snapper on the sandwich and really like the toasted bread and waffle fries. I wanted snapper too over a salad. Michelle helped me with my custom order and it was served up just the way I wanted it! She was awesome for doing her best to serve me an order to fit my needs (gluten free and dairy free). We will definitely make it back to this place on our next visit to Key Largo!

Friendly, Fresh, and Fast! We had a late dinner here last night and it was one of the best seafood dinners I have had. I had the broiled seafood platter and it was cooked perfectly! Mahi Mahi juicy and flaky, with perfectly cooked shrimp and scallops. I had the butter garlic sauce on the side but couldn't help myself and stop eating it! The mixed vegetables were a medley of fresh, Not Frozen, veggies that were steamed tender and crisp just the way I like them. He had the Mahi Mahi Quesadillas and they looked wonderful and he cleaned the plate so I'm sure they were as good as all the other reviewers said. I will also note that I am gluten free, not celiac but I can always tell if I inadvertently consume it, and they were somewhat knowledgable and more than willing to accommodate my needs. Everything is prepared from scratch so I was assured they could tell me exactly what was in whatever dish I wanted. No problems with anything I ate!

This local spot is awesome...the reviews on yelp helped us find this great restaurant and it was definitely worth a visit. I ordered the blackened mahi mahi quesadilla by our waitresses recommendation and it was great! The waitstaff is very friendly as well!

We had a great meal here with fresh fish and good service. I recommend the buffalo shrimp appetizer. Atmosphere is casual with Formica tables and lots of TVs. But it felt more real and less touristy than other places. The rum cake for dessert was great.

Had a very enjoyable dinner here. My server Sarah suggested the Seafood Hobo, and it did not disappoint. The sauce was a little thin, but the flavor was awesome! Caesar salad was acceptable but nothing to write home about. Staff was super friendly. Next time I am in Key Largo I will definitely return!

Ehhh...I was very disappointed by this. Staff - friendly. Stuffed mushrooms (breaded mushrooms with crab) - okay, a bit heavy. Smoked fish dip - I wasn't being impressed by it at all. It came with a good capers sauce so I asked for more. Too bad I wasn't told that it would cost another $1.50!? What the. That stuff should be free esp when it's just a sauce for a $7 appetizer. We got the special, which consisted of ribs, pork and pasta. The pasta was gross. We didn't even touch the pork. The ribs were alright.

Have you ever watched a food competition, like Iron Chef, and picked the losing horse? I mean, tasty sounding, tasty looking, but...well you can't taste through the TV. This place delivers on everything except the flavor. The atmosphere is nice, clean modern house with cathedral ceilings. The decor is Sports Bar with various jerseys and photos on the walls. The portions are huge. The dishes are on what in your house would be serving platters. The salads are meals for two. The menu is extensive, eclectic, and sounds delicious. The prices are cheaper than reasonable, in fact. We tried the artichoke crab dip, which was raved about in some reviews. It was very good, with a lot of cheese and cream sauce. The crab was a bit overwhelmed in the dish--for the crab to be highlighted you need at least twice as much crab. I've seen it work before and, but it costs twice as much. A chicken sandwich with beurre blanc, asiago cheese, scallions... I had visions of something else when they brought out a breaded, fried breast that just was a soggy mess. Maybe the cheese was melted in the sauce? I couldn't find it. I think this was more of a 2.5 star experience. Stick with the more standard bar fare, you may be more impressed.

Hobo's was our first stop in the Key's directly from Miami airport. They were really nice to hold a table for us which was a big kudo's especially since we were traveling with a two year old. We had the Onion log and conch fritters for starters which were passable but not memorable. Their mahi stuffed with crab meat was a show stopper. It was one of the best things we had all trip. Their key lime pie was good too. All in all reasonably priced place + great service + good food = coming back here.

  • Chriss M.

I have never has a bad meal here. The service has always been friendly and prompt. Everything from seafood to burgers has always been well prepared. Reasonable prices. The bar area is open to the dining room, but not a rowdy bar crowd that will disturb your dining. Nothing fancy, but nice. Always good food at fair prices with friendly service.

  • Chris C.

The first time I came here, I wasn't feeling well so I just got some stuffed mushrooms; they were breaded mushrooms stuffed with crab. And they were okay, but the classic stuffed mushroom is still better. My sister got the shrimp gumbo thing and it was wonderful. Next time I got a seafood paste dish, scallops, shrimp and fish over, pasta in a lemon butter wine sauce. It was very tasty. The burger is just a burger, nothing amazing and the steak Au poivre should be removed from the menu. The best thing on their menu is the crab artichoke dip. It was amazing, but careful when it comes to the table, crazy hot.

  • N S.

We went here for a change of pace and because it had been reviewed as having the best hamburger in the Keys. I love a great hamburger. These were...........,fine. Thick enough if not exactly cooked as ordered. Nothing outstanding but what we wanted that evening. Place is rudimentary, even a bit run-down. Wait staff is nice and helpful. My grandson had the kid's fish plate and while it looked terribly overcooked he finished it all. We only ate here once so it may be better than I think it is, but did not overwhelm on this first visit. Would try it again.

3.25 Almost 3.5, almost deserved to be rounded up. I ate here on Fri & Sat night. Chris & I enjoyed Fri's meal enough to bring the parents back on Sat. But the service is a bit slow and my parent's meals weren't good. So it matters what you get. The crab artichoke dip is the #1 thing I'd recommend. The shrimp gumbo-like dish (but in wine-garlic-butter sauce instead) was delicious. I enjoyed the dolphin done the house specialty way--coconut crusted with a raisin curry sauce on top. However: The steak au poivre sucked ass. It wasn't just not good, it sucked. The cheeseburger was sub par. The stuffed mushrooms were okay, but very different. It was like the mushroom was rolled in the bread stuffing, instead of it being inside. I prefer traditional stuffed mushrooms. The building is also very bland. This is Hobos. To go from the keys shack look to a boring building is disappointing. They need to do some decorating. Theme it up a bit to match the sign, shirts and overall concept.

Dear Hobo's, What an awesome little place in Key Largo! So awesome, in fact, my love and I ate here twice in one weekend. :) Now that's gotta be good! The service here was excellent and I felt catered to each time. Our orders were taken quickly, drinks were never empty, and the food was brought out as soon as it was prepared. You rock Hobo's (your staff, really)! I thoroughly enjoyed my lunches here both times, and have to say, I got to try a little bit of everything. Over the 2 visits, we had the mahi quesedillas (both times), conch fritters, a steak and mushroom special with sweet potato fries and a sauce that was to die for, stuffed mushrooms (SO good), and a Philly cheese-steak. Everything was delicious and satisfying. The sweet potato fries were crispy, yet super savory. The fish and conch fritters were beyond fresh, and the steak and steak sandwich were juicy and seasoned perfectly. As my dearest friend Michelle L. said, there's so much on the menu, there's surely something for everyone's taste buds. :) Thanks for the great meals and fond memories. Looking forward to returning. Never saw your old location, but this one rocks! Oh, and speaking of rocks... Do you think you could use smaller gravel in the parking lot? I felt like those big rocks were going to hurt my car. 'Til the next time! SabrinaAnna*

We stopped here on our way back to our hotel from key west for dinner. Great atmosphere with really nice staff. The owner personally stopped at our table to make sure everything was ok and chatted with us. The friendly people and awesome sports themed decorations made this place feel like home. Food is delicious as well. Fresh caught fish from the keys made to order!

Was in Key Largo visiting with some friends and came here for lunch. I had the most delicious Chicken Sandwich with Key Lime sauce, tomatoes and scallions. Not to mention the seasoned waffle fries aren't too shabby either. We didn't try the Key Lime Pie because we were stuffed but I'm sure its pretty tasty too!

Great food, solid portions, and friendly service. All the fish we had was really tasty. Enjoyed the seafood sampler immensely. Two tips. Get bottled beer. I am used to 16oz draft pours, their glasses are 10oz at best, since I was not able to pour my whole bottle in the glass. Mugs are chilled though! Second arrive early. We got there at 530 and grabbed a seat at the bar. Thank goodness we did. Within 10 minutes there were 30 people waiting.

BOTTOM LINE: some great comfort food at a phenomenal price. Perfect spot after a day out on the water. Pros: -You have to try to fish sandwich -Phenomenal service -Good drink specials - nothing like a cold beer after snorkling Cos: -do not get the bruschetta (this is basically store bought salsa on french bread) -do not get the lobster po-boy (lobster was so fried you could not taste it)

  • Lesley R.

I had the crab stuffed shrimp which was good, but not great. It was more like a crab cake without any crab on top of shrimp. Hubby had the meatloaf special which was good. Overall ok but not terribly impressed.

Every time we visit Key largo we stop by Hobo's. There fish is always fresh and the way they prepare their food is always a treat to my taste buds. Nothing is ever a problem there, if you want the fish prepared with one of their toppings that is on another dish, no problem. Family owned and run..what a GEM. Even there sides are great, I just love their cole slaw and ribs, are really Please do not miss this fine eatery...so well priced and friendly I just wish we could visit more often,.

This is my first time to the Keys and I am so happy a friend recommended me this place. I got the Hobo Sandwich, which is the blackened mahi mahi sandwich. Lets just say it is perfect and I would come all the way from LA to here just for that again!

    (5)
  • Jesse H.

What a God send. The Mahi totally deserves its stellar reputation. Get it blackened all the way. If bliss were a desert, you would call it Hobo's Key Lime Pie. Our server, Vanessa is worth the weight of the culinary institute in gold. Not to mention she was lightning fast and a sweetheart with us first-timers. Do yourself a favor and become a Hobo. You will be glad you did.

Definitely a new favorite in the upper keys! The 15year old hostess is useless, however, we were hungry and willing to put up with it. I had the Louisiana shrimp and scallops: very good. My friends were more adventurous than me and had the lamb burger: uber delicious. The place was packed so make reservations if possible. And the conch fritters are good too! You have to appreciate a place that carries Tabasco Chipotle...

We stopped here on Labor Day on our way back to Orlando after a Labor Day weekend trip. I would not suggest coming here when you are in a hurry because, it took us about two and a half hours to have lunch. The food was very good thus the four star rating. We started with the coconut shrimp and lobster. Delicious and fresh coconut and seafood. You could really taste all of the flavors and not just fried greasiness. Everything was made to order here and you could really taste the freshness. I had the salmon salad. I asked for the salmon simply grilled and seasoned and, it was very tasty. The salad was large and packed with tomatoes and artichokes. I was able to eat half for dinner. The sweet potato fries are crispy and yummy. My friend said that they had the best fish sandwich so, you cannot go wrong with that as well.

  • Stuart Y.

Our new favorite place in Keys. All of the food is delicious, and the the atmosphere is casual and fun. The new owner, Ron, greeted us at our table every time to make sure our meal was to our liking. The seafood is excellent with excellent seasonings and sauces. Regardless of what you get, you must finish your meal off with the best Key Lime pie in ALL of the keys.

I had the backened fish sandwich on ciabatta (first thing on the menu). It was VERY good. My husband had the baked Mahi sandwich and really liked it but liked mine better :). He also had a beer in a very frosty mug which is always a major plus. The service was pretty good and the price was excellent especially for the keys where you cant do lunch for less than 50 dollars. If back in the area will definitely visit again.

Really delicious and satisfying lunch on our drive down to key west. And this is coming from a pair of "foodie" "honeymooners" looking for every moment and every bite to be memorable. My only unfulfilled desire was to have some outside seating but this had a pub/ diner atmosphere. Substantial seating at bar while not overpowering dining area. This review is about delicious food, filling portions at a good value, and kind, knowledgable service! We got the blackened mahi mahi quesadillas and the chicken sandwich with key lime beurre blanc sauce - both suggestions from the waitress. $1.75 yeungling on draft, you can't go wrong!

    (4)
  • Genevieve S.

This is a great stop on the way to Key West with great outdoor seating. When we stopped here, tomatoes were in season and they buy local ingredients when they can. The locally grown tomatoes in my salad were, by far, the favorite food on my whole trip. They tasted like tomatoes! I loved them so much that on our drive home, we stopped by the outdoor market and purchased some. Yum! And while we stopped at that market, we had tacos from a taco truck!

While on a short vacation to Key Largo we were fortunate to enjoy a Great dinner at Hobo's Cafe! Catch of the Day - Yellow Tail Snapper with Lemon Butter Sauce and Blackened Seafood Trio. They were both simply delicious. They Key Lime Pie is authentic and as good as it gets. The ambiance is upscale casual, very comfortable and relaxed. It is not just another Key Largo dive bar. Far from it. Our server, Molly, was delightful, knowledgeable and very friendly. She was proud of what she served us and of the Cafe itself. Our very strong compliments to their Chef, who we understand is a 20 yr veteran with Hobo's going back to their original location. Very reasonable pricing, ambiance, location, staff, quality of fresh food and its presentation guarantee Hobo's Cafe as a 5 Star dining experience!

I had the coconut crusted mahi-mahi, It came with a curry and raisin sauce over it which really enhanced the flavor. The food was well prepared and the service was great. I was a little unimpressed with the rice pilaf that was served with my son's meal, but otherwise it was a great experience.

We have been going to this locals favorite for years! It is great food with great prices combined with a good staff:) This place has the "Best" wings in town! Wings are always crunchy & huge! We get them plain & add sauce as we devour them. We also love the burgers. It has that char-broiled taste to them that we just love. Plus u can add sweet potato fries or keep the waffle fries with it. Never disappointed! Again, locals favorite:)

  • Dax B.

Favorite Key Largo restaurant! Service is great and very personal, the only thing that sucks is the wait on holiday weekends. For lunch, Hobo's fish sandwich (blackened) is a savory combination of Dolphin, Tartar sauce, American cheese, Tomato and Wheat bread. The wings are apparently award winning, I'd have to agree. I get them dry with SOS, but thats only because Im a little phobic of messy food. I ultimately smother them in the sauce anyway in a more controlled fashion. Probably the best item on the menu is Pan Sauteed Catch of the Day. Although it is kind of hit or miss. On a good you'd think you died and went to heaven, on a bad day, its still fine, just not easy dealing with it after you've hit them up on a good day (make sure to get your waffle fries on a separate pate because the sauce will make them mushy). Royale Catch and Stuffed Catch are both also amazing and worth a try. Probably the best coconut shrimp and onion loaf in Key Largo.

  • Bill L.

I struggled with this one. I really did. Having been to Hobo's at the old location, the new locale isn't really what Hobo's used to be, a typical Keys joint with low ceilings and thrown together decor. Food was okay. Service seemed a little distant. Not a whole lot of attention. Had to flag down a couple times. Beer had a bit of an off taste. I'm thinking their lines need to be cleaned. The Sunset Ale was not it's usual self. Finally, I'm a little suspect of places that just toss your plate on the table or bar without placemats. It's just bad manners. Hobo's is what it is. A decent, locally owned and operated joint. But it lost it's character somewhere along the way.

Glad we discovered this place again. Great food and friendly staff. Loved the conch fritters, waffle fries and dolphin rueben, which is basically a grilled fish sandwich with Cole slaw and dressing. I remembered the key lime pie being spectacular, this time was just ok. For some reason their Arnold palmers and fried food were a perfect follow-up to a morning of diving in largo.

I'm not normally this crass, but I'll get straight to the point. This place sucks. It's horrible. This place having a four star rating is, simply put, a misrepresentation. The food is of such a low quality that none of the people in my party finished their's, and I apologized to them for being the one who found this restaurant on Yelp.

Where do I start? Looking for a great place to have some fresh seafood and we decided to stop in on advice of a fellow yelper. Upon entering, I immediately noticed how modern, clean and high the ceiling was. There is a bar on the right as soon as you enter and the giant dining area makes up the rest. There is a small outdoor patio area but being that it was July we opted to eat inside. The dining room has a few flatscreens tuned to ESPN (which gets brownie stars from me.) Sports Memorabilia is displayed on the walls too. Glancing over the specials written on the neon boards on the wall, I decided to go for the Coconut Crabcake sandwich. The service was prompt and attentive. The cook's window is within view from any point in the dining room, so as a guest you can see when your food comes out. Being very hungry, we occasionally glanced over and as soon as our food was up, out waitress was dropping it off at our table. The waitress asked us if there was anything else we needed when she dropped off the food (which gave her a better tip). The crabcake was delicious and the bread was very soft. The fries were waffle style and golden brown. The sandwich had a curry raisin sauce which was mildly sweet. It was a great combo with the coconut in the crabcake. The meal was savory and we weren't leaving without trying the key lime pie. The pie was tart but not sour, served with a light whipped cream. It was great. The entire meal was an orgasmic feast. The bill? Less than 30 bucks for 2 people. Definitely will make this a stop for future trips to the keys.

Stopped in last minute for a quick dinner. Had the conch fritters and New England clam chowder. Both were slightly above average in taste and flavor. The conch fritters could have had a little more conch meat in them. The service was excellent.

We visited Hobo's over Memorial Day Weekend and it was a great little spot! We were on the prowl for delicious Conch Fritters since Key West is best known for it and this place hit the spot. They had great Conch Fritters, Calamari, and Stuffed Mushrooms. They also had great drink specials. Beers on tap were only about $2!! I went to the University of Florida and I thought beer was cheap there...this place took the cake! What a great deal. The Keys can get really pricey for a fun weekend there and Hobo's was extremely reasonable and delicious! I would recommend it to anyone heading down to Key West or looking to stay in Key Largo for a night or two!

Dropped by for a late lunch on the recommendation of our local dive shop. Wish we had checked out Hobo's earlier. Service was outstanding. I totally enjoyed my dolphin rueben sandwich w/ sweet potato fries. My wife ordered Chief's salad - wow what feast! It came in a 12" bowl and it was chock full of turkey, tomatoes, HB eggs.

This restaurant was one of 3 recommended to us by the dive shop at John Pennekamp State Park, and we're happy we selected this one. Prices were extremely reasonable, service was fast and attentive, and everything each of us ordered (everything from crab and calamari to chicken to salads and pasta) was excellent. Portions were huge, and the friendliness of the staff really made this place as well. They had a great kids' menu and servers paid special attention to the 2 kids that were with us and made them feel welcome. I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone. If you don't have room for dessert, take some with you for later, it's worth it! The only drawback we found is that, while there are seats and tables outside, we were told they weren't licensed to serve food out there so we did have to sit indoors to eat. Minor in my opinion.

  • Corina B.

Beer, burger, and wing joint. Overall it is OK. They recently relocated to a bigger location, but I liked the other location better. The other spot was smaller and had a bar feel. The new location is bigger, but it has a diner feel. The quality of food has also changed. I used to love the burgers and chicken wings, but the last time I went, the food was horrible. I don't know...maybe it was just a bad day. Anyway, don't go out of your way to visit. But if you're in Key Largo, or on your way to Key West, you might wanna stop for a bite.

  • Paul G.

Overall, very good. The place is very clean & offers a great, wide menu. It's standard American food....so I give this a 4 given the context of a sports type bar. This is not a unique type place...but it is good for a burger and beer.

  • Monica S.

The fish was spectacular, probably the best I'd had on this trip to the Keys. Specifically I had the pan fried mahi mahi with citrus and white wine sauce. Very fine. On the down side, I found the place really cramped. Foodwise, I really didn't care for the coleslaw, and the baked potato was a little sad. I'd probably go back for the fish, but be really careful about that I had with it.

    (4)
  • Barrie O.

Totally underwhelming. I ordered a caesar salad with mahi mahi. The fish was good but the dressing was clearly from a bottle and the croutons from a box. If you're going to go to all the trouble of cooking a nice piece of fish, why not make your own dressing?

  • Gary S.

The new place lacks some of the fun and local color the old place had but the food continues to be the best value for money. You can go to some places that will charge you more but they will do just that. This place has fresh food and all locals know about Hobo's. The fresh catch is good always! They have good burgers too when your all Mahi'd out. The Onion loaf is not good for your heart but your mouth will be glad you did. They give you warm BBQ sauce with it that shows that the love is in the details. Do not waste your money at the fish house! Tourist trap that is grossly overprices. I guess I am just a Hobo at heart.

Just back from dinner and it was excellent. Burgers were excellent and my wife loved the seafood hobo, my son who is a picky eater chowed down on the Sicilian chicken peninni. A large party came in and our server was tied up with them and the hostesses filled in without missing a beat.

Great kid's menu - they can color. Conch fritters are light and crispy; good sauce. Fried shrimp on kid's menu and on the seafood fried combo were great. Great waffle fries. Snapper Chiabatta awesome. Fried seafood combo is great except the clam strips were very chewy but tasty. My daughter liked the kid's BBQ ribs - very affordable to feed the kids adult quality food. They also have kid's chicken strips and spagetti and other things for the non-advernturous kid. The key lime pie was nice - not very tart but very firm and cold. Nice ending. Waiter was very friendly and the restaurant is small but no wait and it was bright and fun. Big bar and tons of specials - but it wasn't a bar like place; perfectly perfect for families.

Always time my arrival to the Keys to be there for lunch and have stopped here many times. The fish Reuben is so good it is unbelievable. Have given up eating French Fries but can't wait to get into the waffle fries. Delicious with the cole slaw. Have driven down to the Keys just to have lunch. A 100 mile round trip.

Gosh this place is busy but the food is decent. Thursday is Turkey Lunch Special. Turkey, Stuffing, Mash Potatoes all with gravey and a slice of cranberry sauce. So much food. Reasonable priced.

Tried the fish dip for an appetizer, the dip wasn't the best. It was blended with to much mayo and pretty smooth, I like mine more chunky and not soo..pink. But they did serve it up with warm pita bread and fresh grilled bread and it was a good portion just not my favorite. I really wanted to try the coconut fried snapper with curry raisin sauce but didn't see it on the menu. I asked about it and she said it's a special sometimes but that she could ask them to make it. I thought it was really nice of her and the cook to do that, most restaurants don't go out of their way anymore to do things like that. The sandwich was delish! A large piece of fresh fish with a really light coconut flake crust. The fish was flakey and moist and the curry raisin sauce was really good with with it. I will be going back for that sandwich again. And the service was also a plus.

Surprising find for an unexceptional roadside joint. Apps and Mahi quesadilla were tasty. Don't drink the house brew!!!

The most GLORIOUS, DIVINE, SCRUMPTULESCENT chicken wings.....EVER! If I could put 2 rhyming words together, I would write an ode to these chicken wings. If you ever come to this restaurant, please order the chicken wings with the Buffalo AND Garlic flavor combined - in medium or hot (depending on your preference). That steaming bowl full of red chicken wings covered in garlic is probably one of the fondest moments in my love affair with food....sigh.

Overall- a pretty good joint. We enjoyed the food, but the crab meat stuffing and the coleslaw were not really that great. Otherwise the fish, sauce, crab cakes & fries were all pretty good otherwise. :) Service was excellent, which is the same for all over Key Largo... really, some of the nicest people around. :)

Food here was very good. My wife and I had the coconut crusted mahi and it was excellent. The service is quick and attentive. For desert we had their key lime pie and it was also very good. The prices here are reasonable for the Keys. The restaurant itself is clean and the menu is fairly large. We also had the calamari which was good, but a little greasy. The sauce served with it was meat sauce not marinara, but it was so good, we got an order of spagetti and meat sauce to go! Will definitely stop here again!

Found this place on yelp while looking for a casual place to eat. To our surprise and delight we ended up at this gem. Service was impeccable from the time we sat down to the time we left we felt welcomed and well attended to. Our waiter Bill and the hostess (didn't get a chance to ask her name) were absolutely perfect and added to a great dining experience. The food portions were HUGE and everything tasted amazing. Everything from the condiments to the dessert got a huge thumbs up from us (we were to busy eating to speak). We ordered 20 of their award winning chicken wings they were crispy and juicy and full of flavor. The conch was a little salty to my mothers taste but with the sauce it was great! It was a great experience and we recommend this place to anyone going through the keys!

Great happy hour chicken wings... I suggest 10 Buffalo / Garlic and ask for crispy. Baked Mahi Mahi sandwich is very good too, but the mushrooms and Key-Lime peppercorn sauce is a strange combination. But it was a hunk of fresh fish, and the side of cole slaw was better than average. Beer selection is not that good; it's mostly the typical main-stream crap, and the a-typical is not much better. Prices are good but the printed menu is more than the online menu - which is a little deceiving. They have a very friendly staff; they really seem to care.

This was the best restaurant we went to on our vacation! I got the MM 101 Sandwich. It was very tasty! The combination of artichoke hearts, creamed spinach and peppers along with the Mahi Mahi fish was the perfect mix of flavors! Not only was their food delicious but the service was amazing and also by far the best out of any of the other restaurants we went to. The staff all worked together to make sure the food got out quickly and we always had our water glasses full. The owner himself was there helping. Our server Liz was very nice and made sure we had the best experience possible. I was very impressed with this restaurant!

Okay, here is the skinny. We only went for dessert. But the dessert was good, and we sampled most of their options. I was surprised to see that they had a dessert tray, to show you what you might like. The Key Lime in a jar is really a gimmick, better and easier to take home, but best to get the regular pie if eating there. I loved the apple walnut dessert, heated up it till it fell apart and served ala mode. My daughter loved the warm brownie sundae while my wife enjoyed the chocolate decadent dessert. The atmosphere is not exactly island, not exactly upscale, at least not to warrant the prices we saw on the menu, but what we had was delicious.

We stopped here on our way home because of another reviewers review and I am glad we did! Cute place- nothing flashy. Felt like a hometown lunch spot. I had the shrimp and lobster po boy which was a very large portion- could have shared it with someone! The seafood is grilled not fried which was nice. There was a ton of cheese which They could have cut back on. The bread was the perfect combination of crunchy and soft. The coleslaw balanced out the sandwich perfectly. My husband got the chicken tender basket and these chicken tenders were so light and fluffy it was unbelievable. I've never tasted such a thing. Oh and the waffle fries, a must!! We ended with key lime pie, of course. They even offer it in a to-go jar.

This place was decent. Food was fresh. The atmosphere was good too. Priced reasonably. The only reason I didn't give five stars was because our server could of cared less what was going on!

Soo glad we came here on our little trip to Key Largo! Thank you Yelp reviewers! We ordered the conch fritters, clam chowder, and mahi mahi sandwich. The fritters were huge, steaming hot, and sooo goodd. I was also impressed by the clam chowder because being originally from Boston, I've had chowder many many times and I'm picky. It was one of the better chowders I've ever had! My partner tthought the mahi mahi sandwich was very tasty =) The service was exceptional. Our waitress Tammy made sure we were always happy and she was very cheerful and attentive. The other servers also stopped by our table to refill drinks and make sure we were doing well and it was one of the best services we've had to be honest. Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

Not as good as the reviews suggest. I was lured here by the positive reviews and we just happen to be in the vicinity. The restaurant is nice with indoor and outdoor seating and all of the servers were friendly and professional. We ordered the Fish & Chips and two soft drinks. The portion was very small and nothing spectacular to write about. The waffle fries were actually better tasting than the fish. They're pretty overpriced for the portion that you get I wouldn't recommend. 32$ seems a bit much for an appetizer size fish & chips and two soda pops!!

We stopped in here for some evening snacks after a recommendation from the guys at Scuba Do diving - and we are sooooo glad we did. We ordered appetizers and a dessert! We got the Award Winning Wings with both hot and Cajun sauces. Saaaay Whaaaaat! Delicious! The Cajun Waffle Fries - served pipping hot and yummy! For dessert.....Key Lime Pie. We got a couple of beers and settled into a couple of seats at the bar for some great conversation with Bill the bartender and Ron the owner. Let me tell you something about this place......it is homey, warm, inviting and everyone here is super friendly! I wish we would have found this place the day before, because we would have definitely come have came back and ate here again. Do yourself a favor and get on down to Hobo's!! This will be our go to on all our diving trips to the Keys in the future!

We were lured in by all the great reviews and we were not dissapointment. I had a basket of fried shrimp and my wife had a fish sandwich. Both were really good but not so over the top awesome that I'd rate it a 5 star restaurant. The service was great and everything came out pretty quickly. We would come back.

We stopped by for a quick lunch. At first we were a little disappointed as the door knob was missing from the front door and the hostess apologized about the AC. She said that help was on it's way, and while we were waiting to order the AC repairman showed up and got some cold air flowing! And a guy replaced the doorknob. It is just a pub style place, no great decor or good view, but that is ok. We enjoyed our lunch. I had a tuna wrap, husband had fish sandwhich and son had a burger. All were delicious. Our server was great. Prices were about $2 less than other places for sandwiches.

We have made three trips to Key Largo in the last two years, and Hobo's is a MUST for us. In fact, last time we planned it out so that our first AND last nights were at Hobo's. Food is awesome, service is wonderful. Ron, the owner, takes a personal interest. In fact, we met him on our first visit, and he has somehow managed to recognize us on our return trip. That means a lot to us. This is our absolute favorite restaurant in Key Largo!

This place was incredible. My dad read some reviews on the drive to Key Largo and decided to stop for dinner there. It was seriously so good and the portions were huge. I got the Mahi quesadilla and could barely finish half of it. The fish was perfect - super juicy and a great amount for the price. Loved this place!

BEST FISH SANDWICH I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. The 151 sandwhich was the most decadently made sandwich ever. The artichoke sauce on top was new but truly what made the sandwhich something special and unique. Bun was soft and flavorful. Everything was on point I'm drooling typing about it. Could have used a bit of a crunch somehow, over all 10/10 would devour again. Paired nicely with our delicious conch ceviche!

Fun theme and love the art. The seafood penne rigate is what I ordered and it was not very good to me. Had no flavor, pasta was overcooked as well as the scallops. The shrimp and oyster were bit overcooked but lacked flavor. When I brought to the waitresses attention the manager quickly came over and took it off our bill. The key lime pie was not tart enough for me and did not have whipped cream but had non dairy topping instead. We won't return but the service was good and the others in my party enjoyed their food. Chicken panini, fried seafood trio, calamari, kids fish stick meal and the stuffed shrimp.

  • Yi Y.

Such a delicious meal. We got there around 2:30pm and the inside of the restaurant was still full! So had to sit on the patio. The food was really good. My party had Cobb Salad with cajun lobster and shrimps, Marion Burger, Key Lime Pie, and a few other dishes. They were all delicious, and the key lime pie was amazing! Will definitely come back if I have the chance.

Hobos never fails to put out an excellent meal. It doesn't look like much on the outside but on the inside it is very FL keys. From the flat screens showing coral reef footage in HD to the hand painted art work anyone would make an offer on. I always advise getting one of the days specials because of the freshness of the food. Any menu item will blow your mind if nothing catches your eye from the specials. Once you taste, see and smell the plate infront of you the price won't even matter!

  • Veronica E.

Hobos is one of our favorite little spots to eat at. Great spot for fish sandwiches. We've never had a bad experience with any of them. Can't go wrong with their appetizer sampler which includes: coconut shrimp, conch fritters, and smoked fish dip. The clam chowder is very creamy and homie. The last time we went we tried one of their special items; lightly fried yellow tail with a homemade avocado ranch sauce drizzled over it. It was very tasty and enough to share. Best of all, never too loud nor crowded. Makes it perfect for quick seating and service.

We had a great meal at Hobo's. My wife and I had a couple of side salads and shared the Seafood Hobo and a piece of Key Lime Pie. We were seated promptly and the waitstaff kept our glasses full. If I had a complaint, it would be that they were too efficient. Our salads were at table moments after we ordered and the main course was served before we had finished our salad. The salads were standard salad fare and the right size. The Seafood Hobo was served in one large aluminum bowl. It was full of fish, scallops, and shrimp in a nice sauce. There were more mushrooms than I would have preferred; but that's a personal preference. We like key lime pie when we are in the Keys. We have had it at several places and prefer the Key Lime Pie from the Publix grocery in Marathon to any of them. There were two Key Lime Pie options at Hobo's: in a mason jar or on a plate. We asked the waitress what the difference is and she said it was the same pie, just a different serving. We had the pie. It was good and served with a Lime Chocolate treat garnish and a light raspberry sauce drizzled on the plate. If you are in Key Largo and looking for dinner, I would give Hobo's a try.

We brought the last of our yellow tail snapper here for dinner and had it prepared two ways: coconut crusted with a curry raisin sauce and blackened. Both were excellent but the coconut crusted was our favorite! I liked the sweetness of the coconut with the slight kick from the curry sauce. We pretty much inhaled everything, sides and all. We actually had room for dessert and finally tried some key lime pie! It was as amazing as we had hoped it would be. I keep hearing this is the best place for wings so we may need to try those next time....along with more fish!

  • Rachel U.

My husband and I went here for dinner and got seated right away. Atmosphere is casual and relaxed and it's nicely decorated. I got the burger and it was absolutely delicious! Cooked perfectly and the seasoned waffle fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. My husband got the MM101 which was a Mahi Mahi sandwich. The fish was baked and tasted juicy and was mild. For dessert, we had the key lime pie which was much sweeter and lacked the tang and tartness you'd expect with key lime pie. However, it was still very tasty! Service was efficient and our waiter was attentive!

Lots of good places to eat in key largo but none have that perfect combo of quality food, big portions, and reasonable prices like hobos. For years this is our "go too" spot in key largo. A must!!!!! Note. Only beer wine bar.

This food was the best food I've had in a long time. I got the mahi quesadilla and of course finished with some key lime pie. I would highly recommend this place. Reasonable prices for the quality of food and portion size, as well as a delicious blend of flavors. Service was great too!

This review is only of the key lime pie. It had great texture and the crust was nice, crispy. However, I like my key lime tangyer, a little more tart. The rest of the food on the menu looks awesome. I have to remember to stop by on the way back from the keys next time.

Absolutely our favorite restaurant in Key Largo!! If you love wings, these will be your all time favorite!! They are cooked perfectly with the slight crisp!! The sauce is perfect with a nice blend of Buffalo and bbq! The meals are always good and are at similar prices of all restaurants nearby. The key lime pie is a second best to the Midway Cafe in my opinion! Th e apple pie is absolutely incredible! ! Please go try Hobo ' s it's awesome! Service is moderate and sometimes slow because of the island time. The food here is worth it! We usually come here twice during our short vacation in the keys! !

What a great find here in Key Largo. Liz was our server and she was super. We also met Ron the owner he took the time and chatted with us for a few minutes. The rest of the staff was also very friendly with great service. Now for the food. It was awesome! Had clam chowder and a shrimp pasta dish. Also had a taste of streamed clams and chicken wings, all yummy. Going back real soon!!

Wonderful restaurant in Key Largo! My family and I ate there twice during our stay because it was that good. The salsa is to die for and everything there is made fresh. Buffalo wings are superb and the pasta dish is my personal favorite. Tammy is their best server, be sure to ask for her, she was incredibly helpful, kind, and smiles like a friend. 2 THUMBS UP!!

1st time to Hobo's and it was a top notch dining experience for my group and I. Service was A+ provided by our most excellent server Jen. A true asset to the establishment. Friendly, energetic and very helpful fielding menu questions from our group. Great job. Ron the owner came by our table to chat to make sure we were all having a good experience. In My book when the owner comes to make sure your dining experience is special, this is the type of place I would make a return visit. So with the service remarkable, the food was most excellent as well. Since I had been eating Fish for a few days I thought I would mix it up and go with the N.Y. Sirloin Steak sandwich. Cooked perfectly per my taste and was very tasty and well put together. Not like other places I have tried where you bite into the sandwich and get a bite of grizzle and the entire steak pulls out from the bread. Not at Hobos. No problems biting into this steak sandwich masterpiece. Pure pleasure with no grizzle.. I had the seasoned waffle fries as a side and they were tasty.. Normally I'm not a fan of waffle fries because they tend to be on the dry side but when I bit into the first one it was so good. Seasoned perfectly, Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside like a mashed potato taste.. Last but not least is the place was very clean .. This is the first thing I do when I arrive at an establishment is look around to make sure the place is clean and there are no cob webs on the wall and strange things on the floor. This fine establishment was clean... I will be back again to try other menu items soon.

I'm not a professional food reviewer... On a dive trip with my wife and 10 year old daughter. We came on recommendation from our dive shop because my wife wanted the option of a hamburger. (She said it was great). Ambiance was very casual and unassuming.... But warm and welcoming at the same time. I had hogfish sandwich- hobo style. Like the "local vibe" - this sandwich was very unassuming at first glance- but beautiful in its "simplicity". A couple slices of thick cut bread with a slice of American cheese.... A touch of tarter ..: a beautifully ripe tomato with an amazing cut of (fried hogfish). It just "works" people.... Trust me on this! All the food was top shelf... But was very impressed by the hustle of the staff. Was great to see the owner (Ron) working the tables at 9pm on Sunday. We had the pleasure of meeting him. 25 years running this place (very well). Rod did something super cool on the way out. He congratulated my daughter on becoming certified to dive and gave her a lime pie in a jar. A personal touch from the owner. On the way home - she said "hobo's is my favorite restaurant". Keep it up guys!!! Excellent food and excellent service. Well done!!

Hobo's exceeded my expectations! We were on our way back from snorkeling and of course we couldn't leave Key Largo without having some Key Lime pie. When we arrived, we were promptly seated and since the minute we got there the service was exceptional. We opted for a full meal instead of just dessert. We had conch fritters to share and then I had a fresh Tuna Seaweed wrap which was AMAZING! Of course the Key Lime pie was outstanding. Five stars well deserved.

We were in Key Largo and needed a quick lunch. A quick search on Yelp and we found Hobo's Cafe. The food is great and fast. There is a kids menu as well with plenty of options. Of course there are a few sea food choices all of which look great. I had the Hobo fish sandwich which is a local white fish. Tastes great! The service is also top notch. The staff tries to make tourist feel at ease and also spends time chatting. You can't go wrong at Hobo's for the full Key Largo experience.

Perfect lunch spot. First off. The Waffle Fries. WAFFLE. FRIES. Lightly dusted with a smokey seasoning and cooked to perfection. These alone are enough to keep me coming back to Hobo's. It's a quaint little place that offers indoor and outdoor seating. The menu has your typical dishes that you could find at most Key Largo eateries. BUT include so many other options and variations. The philly cheesesteak did not disappoint. Tuna reuban was also fantastic. Overall, the restaurant had a great feel to it with the local art work. Defintely an establishment that requires more than just a wet bathing suit and flip flops. They had a great selection of craft beers on tap (my personal favorites Sweetwater and Funky Buddah were offered). Very reasonably priced! Can't wait to go back!

What a disappointment. After a long day diving and being in the sun, I was looking forward to some delicious sweet iced tea. When I tasted it, I noticed it tasted off. When I looked at the description on the menu, I realized why. It was Lipton's brisk sweet tea. Yuck!! They can't even be bothered to brew fresh iced tea and add some sweetener to it??! I was immediately turned off but I was starving so we stayed and ordered appetizers and dinner. That was a mistake. The crab cakes were undercooked but they were the best part of the meal. I ordered the butterflied shrimp with beans and rice, hubby got the jerk chicken which comes with rice. It was all extremely bland. How you can make fried shrimp and jerk chicken tasteless, I don't know but Hobo's managed it. TL;DR: Bland and overpriced. Avoid.

Been coming here since 1996. If the local boat captains and the dice masters recommend the place, you know the food is gonna be freaking amazing!! Just ate there last night (late Feb 2015) and the food is still super delicious and the service is still excellent. Try the Hobo fish sandwich. Another great dish is the Hobo Shrimp meal, but that is only available during dinner time. We brought our fish that we caught that day, and the prices they charged for the fish sandwich ($5??) was by far the cheapest we found. Super friendly folks, and more importantly laid back atmosphere.

We travel about 6 - 8 months per year and we loved everything. Konch Fritters, lobster, scallops, wine, coconut encrusted mahi mahi. Key lime pie for dessert. It was mouth watering and probably the best seafood dinner we have had in 10 years.

Location: In Key Largo and I live in Homestead, the drive was delightful, the scenery is serine. The restaurant is located on the opposite of the highway of south. Not complicated to find it. The setup: is medium sized, a table of four, tight seating hit my elbow. TVs mounted on the walls, No biggie! Service: The hostess was lovely and pleasant. Sat us swiftly. Our waitress, Ashley, a delight from the beginning. Provided us with extra blue cheese for our wings, checked on us and has a personality. Tip her well. On our way out, the hostess held the door for us. That placed a smile on my face when we left. Food: Conk Fritters, first time and it was bursting with flavor. 10 buffalo wings and waffle fries, it was awesome. The pricing is great. Overall: When Your Passing through the keys, Stop By for lunch or dinner. It was a great experience. Customer service and food presentation still exist!

Although I love Key Largo I can only eat so many fish tacos. When I want a break from the usual Keys fare then I always stop by Hobo's Cafe. This place has been serving the locals since 1991 and there is a reason it has been in business for so long. The recipe for Hobo's success is a diverse menu at reasonable prices. In addition to the requisite fresh seafood, you can find great entrees like lamb burger, escargot, flautas, steak, and quesadillas. In addition the soups are made fresh daily and are absolutely delicious. The clam chowder was divine, creamy goodness. The server said the seafood chowder is even better. The Louisiana style shrimp and scallops were awesome - and the creamed spinach was a perfect side. Unbelievably a kids menu item was baby back ribs - and for $7 this was a great deal as an adult could have eaten this. Of course this place sticks to it's Keys' roots as booze is also available and the dress is casual. Hobo's is definitely worth a stop if you are in Key Largo, the food here is reasonably priced and awesome!

Go to Fish House for fresh fish. Go to Hobo's if you're partial to praying to the porcelain gods on your vacation. Oh, and they get double bonus round points for staffing a waitress who has absolutely zero respect for dietary restrictions. The cute little slice of key lime pie didn't hide all those comments. And I still got sick. Fish house!

Great spot for dinner. Burgers, sandwiches and seafood. Coconut shrimp very tasty appetizer 6 shrimp, curry and coconut milk dipping sauces. Marino burger one of the better burgers I've ever had. Wife had Sloppy Hobo burger and she ate whole thing and not a big burger fan. Kids chicken fingers good portion size for 9 year old. Key Lime pie very good as well. Very reasonably priced.

Came here after a long day trip of kayaking and service was excellent. We called in ahead and were seated immediately. The servers checked in on us often and always made sure we had our glasses full. The seafood here is extremely fresh and flavorful, I highly recommend the key lime pie!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!! My boy friend who hates key lime pie only eats their key lime pie and absolutely loves it! I often drive from Miami in order to take a pie home, that's how good they are! Oh and the service, amazing as well!

not sure where all the awesome reviewers have eaten before, but this place is not good. Service was fantastic, but it ended there. Lunch: crab dip had zero crab, and zero crab flavor. blackened fish sandwich: small portion, bland, overcooked fish. cole slaw was nasty. waffle fries were dripping with oil. key lime pie was waaaaaayyy to sweet. my friend did enjoy his lamb burger. will not go back, as key largo has much better offerings.

Terrific food and friendly service. We are there twice and both times it was great. I think grouper and hogfish sandwiches are also cheaper here than in other places. Get them hobo style with cole slaw! Smoked wahoo fish spread is terrific too!

Shared the hot crab and artichoke dip along with the seafood casserole meal - I believe had shrimp, crab and scallops with that we choose salad and waffle fries (nice and brown YUM). Everything was good, not great (did expect better since we are in the keys). Ron, the manager did make his rounds in the dining room to see everyone was doing OK. Our waitress was good.

Had a really good meal here. One of the best of our visit to the area. It was Valentines Day so it was very busy and there was a bit of a wait. The hostess offered to keep an eye out for a spot at the bar for us in case one opened up. A few minutes later one did open up and she grabbed it for us (I know this doesn't sound heroic but, this was the only place we visited in the Keys where the hostess was actually friendly, alert AND efficient instead of busy talking to friends or trying to ignore customers. It was appreciated) So +1 for good hospitality. That kind of thing sets the tone for a visit. A big and varied selection of beers on tap. So +2. The food was great as well (+3). We kind of pigged out by getting four appetizers instead of dinner. Three would have been plenty for two people. They're pretty big. The tuna nachos were excellent. The tuna was perfectly seared (which is unusual for this region where fish is traditionally cooked into oblivion). Good sauce. Nice thick nachos. This dish uses a different tortilla chip from the regular tortilla chip that they use for dips. The fact that they actually take the trouble to use two different kinds of chips for different dishes impressed me. Next up: the sampler plate - a selection of different apps including conch fritters. All items on the sampler plate were great. The conch fritters were among the best I have had in the area - however I'm not a huge fan of conch fritters in general. I would call them a favorite local food but, I would not elevate their status to "local delicacy". It's basically a clam hush puppy. Conch is not the most flavorful seafood. It's more texture than flavor. Not to digress too much but, same goes for grouper. I don't know why Floridians go nuts about grouper. It's just not that great a fish. Mahi mahi - somewhat better. Atlantic or Northwest Salmon - Now that's a fish! Up next, the ceviche served with the other style of tortilla chip. Refreshing change. Delicious. Had to get the waffle fries (despite wife's objections) because they are famous. They did not disappoint. Delicious and completely unnecessary (she was right). All these dishes were fresh, well presented and had good sauces. Biggest regret... stuffed myself leaving no room for the Key Lime pie. Next time I will omit one appetizer (probably the conch fritters) and get the pie. Throughout our meal the bar staff was super busy and yet managed to pause long enough to answer questions and be friendly. It could just be that we had come from a really bad experience down the road at Snook's. By the end of the meal I wanted to take the manager aside and complement him on the combination of very efficient, hardworking staff and positive workplace vibe but, I didn't want to slow him down since he was clearly working his butt off too. Highly recommend this place.

First the staff is great Bill, Christy and Vanessa are awesome and the food is out of this world!! We had eaten here before but we just sent my parents for their 50th anniversary (we sent them to Largo for the weekend) and they could not have been nicer and more accommodating and even wrote me after to tell me how nice my parents are. Vanessa and Bill were amazing in finalizing the plans for them, the Happy 50'th on the key lime pie was a great touch!! Thank You Hobos for everything and we will definitely come back here again!!!!! Cute place. Friendly staff. Decent food for the price. I had the blackened salmon ciabatta. Good flavor, but really oily. The bottom ciabatta was soaked. Good key lime pie, for sure. Refreshing. We sat outside and it was a nice day--though the patio faces just a parking lot & a trailer park.

My wife and I recently drove from Delray Beach to Key West and stopped at Key Largo because we wanted to snorkel at Pennekamp State Park (and also because I'm a Humphrey Bogart fan). The gate-keeper at the park suggested Hobo's when I requested a recommendation for a good place to eat lunch. He said it was "a good local place" with excellent food and reasonable prices. He was right on all counts. I had the Key Lime Chicken (about nine dollars), which seemed like a location-appropriate item. It was kind of gloppy (what with melted cheese and the lime/butter sauce), but absolutely delicious. The chicken was juicy and flavorful; the lime enhanced but did not overpower the chicken taste. The waffle fries that came with it were also first-rate; crispy but not overcooked. My wife made a meal out of the conch fritters appetizer (about eight dollars; no side of fries here, of course). She had heard that conch fritters were a Florida Keys specialty and wanted to try them; she was very enthusiastic about her order, which contained about half a dozen conch-balls (I had somehow visualized them as flat, but that turned out to be incorrect). She found the appetizer entirely sufficient for a light lunch (although she did steal a couple of my waffle fries). Hobo's also serves Key Lime pie and other desserts, but I was too full to try them. Hobo's ambiance is also nice: informal enough that I could eat there right after snorkeling in my bathing suit and a T-shirt, but by no means a dive. (No pun intended.) Our waitress was friendly and efficient. All told, this was a great start to our journey down the Keys. Highly recommended.

We went Friday night and my husband had the grouper sandwich, which didn't taste like grouper, or they overcooked the heck out of it to make it taste different. The vegetable medley was over cooked as well, almost like microwaved veggies I had the crabcakes. Let me first tell you they were not cooked enough. Tasteless with bits of shell. They should have overcooked the cakes and undercooked the fish. Salads and soup portions are small, spread out over the plate to make it look fuller, or square cups for soup. For the price, and yelp reviews past customers either have no taste or they were drunk before arriving for dinner. Lucky to get 1 star.

This place is better than I expected, great service and a great value! Two dishes we got were the Mahi Quesadilla and the Louisiana Shrimp and Scallops. The quesadilla was awesome, it was a big portion and it's loaded with mahi! Can't go wrong with the Louisiana and Shrimp and Scallops if you are a cajun seafood fan. Got sweet potato fries and a piece of key lime pie too, which were pretty standard. I was on vacation in Key Largo and only went here once, but would have happily eaten meal here. Also - their happy hour prices are great. There aren't many places you can get a beer for less than $2 anymore, but this place is one of them! Weather you're heading further down in they keys or a local looking to grab a quick bite, this place is worth checking out!

After traveling all day we were excited to stop for our first meal in the keys. Based on reviews we decided on Hobos but unfortunately the entire experience was disappointing. Slow/rude service, cramped table, drab interior, and food was mediocre at best.

Our last stop before we left the Keys, and man was it a wonderful way to end our vacation. I had a Ahi Tuna wrap, and I am seriously still dreaming about it. The Key Lime pie was delicious, service was very friendly and attentive. If we ever return to the Keys, I will definitely be stopping by again.

Everything about Hobo's Cafe was good from the time we stepped in to the time we stepped out. I had been here with 3 friends and was seated outside. Since it was still start of summer, the nice weather added to the pretty good ambience at the cafe. One of our friends is vegetarian and we ordered the seafood penne pasta minus the fish. Though they took out the fish, the pasta was excellent and set the benchmark for rest of the food to come. We had the nachos with garlic and spinach dip and seafood sampler. Both were pretty good. The keywest beer was also good and the hobos brewed beer, though light was refreshingly nice. To end it, we ordered the death by chocolate and chocolate peanut butter pastries. All this and a nice experience at the cafe was not at all expensive. The service was pretty good too just like anything else there. A must visit cafe when in Key Largo if you are looking for a good time with good food.

Meh, so-so.... Appreciate the friendliness and price point, a good bargain I guess, but you're still serving a house salad of iceberg lettuce, tasteless refrigerated tomatoes and kraft Italian dressing in 2014? And charging $2 to upgrade to that? The steak sandwich was pretty good, I'll admit, but this is just another Florida dive. Probably serving the same mish-mash menu they were 20 years ago, and still getting the same podunk, fishing boat, baseball cap southerners who are happy getting fat off fried food and afraid to evolve. Not worth going out of the way for.

We tried several of the recommended places here in key largo. Most did not live up to their reviews. This one did. From the up-dated decor to the cleanliness, to the nice welcome from wait staff. The food was very good (even the side salad had nice touches and flavors). I had coconut shrimp and my husband had steak churisco. Both prepared as requested. The shrimp was fried but not over battered not greasy. The key lime was perfect and the apple walnut dessert was a nice blend of sweet and buttery. Very good.

Fish house!

We ordered the fish sandwich to-go and were quite satisfied. Will definitely be back and I would recommend to anyone visiting

This food was the best food I've had in a long time. I got the mahi quesadilla and of course finished with some key lime pie. I would highly recommend this place. Reasonable prices for the quality of food and portion size, as well as a delicious blend of flavors. Service was great too!

Food was amazing. We got mahi quesadillas, key lime shrimp, and dolphin po boy... All amazing. So fresh! Tammy was the best waitress, but everyone was friendly. Super casual, local feel.

This review is only of the key lime pie. It had great texture and the crust was nice, crispy. However, I like my key lime tangyer, a little more tart. The rest of the food on the menu looks awesome. I have to remember to stop by on the way back from the keys next time.

There is plenty for little ones to choose from on the kids menu. I had the MM 101 sandwich. The fish tasted fresh and the bread and toppings on the sandwich are a great combo. The friendly and prompt service really stood out.

I'm so glad we came upon this place during my trip to Key Largo. It was clean, our server Jen? I wanna say was awesome and the food itself was 100% delish! I will definitely be back in my next trip down there!

    (3)
  • Doris M.

  • Jeanette P.

GREAT place to eat!! The clam chowder was amazing along with the conch fritters. It was Mexican night so I had the pulled pork burrito. Very tasty!!! All washed down with a frosty PBR. Don't miss it if you get the chance.

  • Peter W.

  • Zelda F.

Go!

  • Jenny L.

    (2)
  • Matt M.

  • Jeff H.

The service and food could not be beat. As a person from Buffalo I could not believe their wings were even better than Buffalo wings. The fresh fish meals were hearty, delicious and in expensive. A must visit.

Another reliable local family restaurant. Portions are huge, service is great. I wish they did more stuff with boneless buffalo, but hey. Decent prices too And PS, think about making those waffle fries fresh and you'll have a path beaten to your door! Thanks for being our place!

Don't order anything "crusted" in coconut...... It's full on breading and it sucks! The veggies were tasteless..... I won't be coming back.

Yummmm!

Hobos is our go to place in Key Largo. They always have great food. They do some nice specials and have a fantastic happy hour. I recommend their blackened seafood combo as well as one of their many beers on tap. Bill always takes good care of us!

My first meal in the Keys and I was not disappointed! The food here is amazing! I had a chicken sandwich with a key lime beurre blanc and asiago cheese. Not only is food spot on, but the service is excellent!!! A shout out to Vanessa, who everyone should ask for when they go there. She is an awesome waitress!!!!

Very good.

The snapper with mango salsa sandwich is amazing! So yummy! Everything here was good. If I am ever back in key largo I will be stopping back here for sure

Good prices on some dang good food! Happy hour specials are good.

  • Anderson M.

We visited Hobo's for lunch. We ordered an MM101 Snapper Ciabatta and Sicilian Chicken Panini. They were both very tasty! We ended our meal with slices of Key Lime pie that were also very good! Would definitely recommend Hobo's.

Another good place for a meal in the Keys recommended by locals. I had the Mahi Mahi Royale, a really good sized platter. The service was good, the place comforting and pleasantly down to earth.

  • Nicole S.
