Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

After driving past many times I convinced a friend to check it out for our Saturday "breakfast club". Let's just start with the parking. There's a lot of it. A lot more than you see from the road. Tell all your friends to meet you there. Inside was much wider open than I initially thought it would be. Clean place and friendly staff jumping at the chance to help you find something you like. And believe me, if you can't find something you like here, just stop eating. Forever. Breakfast offerings consist of paninis, sandwiches, doughnuts and every pastry, cookie, or cake known to man. All the important ones anyway. Sandwich choices include the traditional breakfast meats and eggs, to include an organic egg option and gluten free bead options. Put together however you'd like or try one of the creative menu items. We'd already ordered when we realized there were fresh doughnuts and fritters around the corner. Lucky for us, our sandwiches came with a small pastry on the side. After polishing off my plate I went back to the counter for take home items to include the gluten free chocolate chip cookies and a sample bag of pastries. That was yesterday morning and I've eaten cookies or pastries with every meal since. What I'm trying to say is. . .I think I love this place. It was getting busy as we left around 9:45am but I still didn't see a lot of waiting happening. The service was excellent. The location is easy to get to and clean worth indoor and dog friendly outdoor seating. The food was quite good (though I'll need to sample lunch next time I think) and the pastries were simply amazing.

A few weeks back I came to Frida, and was a little early, based on reviews of how the customer service would be. I primarily came to get desserts, and honestly, the counter service was very pleasant, and quickly assisted me, and this was around the lunch hour. I wish I could remember every little delicious treat I tried. Let's see, there was the fruit tart, the oreo thing the size of a baseball, the raspberry biscotti cheesecake, apple fritters, and a few others that were all, hands down awesome! It is rare, for me, to choose six different sweets, and they are all consistently delicious. I mean, usually some are dry, or don't hit the mark. This is not the case for Frida's. Unfortunately, this is little bit of a drive for me, but I plan to make another trip out there, when I plan to "treat myself," to some much need sweetness. And based on what other reviews have said about lunch, I will have to check that part of the menu out.

This is a place you must stop in when close to this part of Largo. The cake donuts are soft and fluffy inside while being crunchy outside. My favorite is the plain cinnamon donut with their great coffee. Try the almond horns and the cinnamon buns. Lunch special-chicken salad is good too. Breads and pastry will not disappoint.

You will be amazed when you walk in the door and see all the delicious pastries! I got a panini and it was absolutely amazing. Fresh baked ciabatta with bacon, Yukon gold potatoes, and some type of cheese sauce. What a great way to start the day! The staff was very friendly and informative and I will definitely be back (maybe tomorrow ;-))

Came here after lunch to pick up some tasty treats. Excellent selection and unusual desserts. I had a hard time deciding on what to order but being a fan of oreos and chocolate, I got the Oreo brownie balloon. It was delicious and it took care of my chocolate thirst. I would be coming here often if I lived here.

Nice bakery and steak and portobello panini was really tasty. It came with gingerbread cornbread , which was too strong of a flavor. But The place was clean and customer service was ok. There was plenty to choose from this bakery. I highly recommend as lunch spot if you work around the area .

This is an amazing place. It combines an awesome bakery with a healthy sandwich shop and then some amazing tea's, smoothies and more. Everything is good. It's reasonably priced and truly the food is good. I live in Holiday and drove one day all the way down there just to eat!!!! It's a piece of Pinellas treasure that we lack here in Pasco County. The staff is very friendly, and helpful and it's clean. My son had the chicken noodle soup which he normally won't eat because it has carrots and onions and celery but he ate this one and said it was the best he ever tasted, in fact better than mine. He lived, and can't wait to come back and enjoy another meal.

Fridas seems to have a following. Some of the folks seem to linger as they just like being there. Don't blame them. It is a pleasant place. I was there twice this week. One day I got the chicken sandwich special. Just the sandwich was 7.99. It wasn't large in size. The chicken was organic and it tasted very different than the normal gmo, antibiotic, growth hormone type chicken you get elsewhere. It was more like a consistency of veal. It was good, but rather small and not fancy in presentation. Photo loaded. Another day I got the cronut and beignet. I've had better there. The cronut didn't seem to have ever been a croissant. The shape was square. I have had them many places where they take a regular buttery croissant, and then put it through a glaze like a glazed donut and then its served warm. This was probably cut from croissant dough but it didn't seem so buttery, then glazed, then served room temperature. For 2.99 each, its really not much more if any more than a donut. The beignets were round. More like big donut holes. Im used to the more square or rectangle ones there. This dough seemed like donut dough. It had little if any powdered sugar dusting. I would give what I ate 3 stars but adding a star as they believe in serving healthy food (if it isn't bakery that is), the help works hard, and the place is bright and cheerful. Next time I go I will order a salad. Those looked really good and presented in an artsy bowl. I like that you can order as you walk in and then get it yourself. No wait staff. That probably moves the tables faster and all benefit. The tip you put in a jar if you wish. They don't automatically add a blank line for you to fill out. The tables and chairs move. I like that as you can get more comfortable and have some flexability. I don't like it when you walk in and if someone is reading the menu they hand you a laminated menu. I hate handling menus and if it can be avoided all the better. I never feel those are clean and think of all the germs over them and here you are ready to eat, sandwiches, donuts, and other things with your hands. Sometimes its unavoidable, but when the menu is posted up above and on menu holders one can read without having to touch, Id rather wait and not have to touch something that everyone else has been touching before eating. Yes you can go wash, but last time there one of the kitchen helpers was in the toilet forever so id rather not have to run to and wash just to see a menu faster. They have 2 bathrooms, one marked women and one either men or women. That's a first for me. I guess though women wait longer so its fair, as long as the guy from the kitchen doesn't come back!

Frida's is a great one of a kind bakery, they have a vast selection of different unique cakes, cookies, cupcakes among others, they are always making new things and thy also have a full breakfast- lunch menu with things like sandwiches. They also have their own coffee beverages. I personally get the pumpkin Yule log, which is amazing. I also recently tried their ice cream coffee drink which was also good, they have frequent deals such as BOGO cupcakes and things. They have a lot of seating inside with some outside. They do get busy throughout the day and seating is tight at those times. I really like the Beinstich German BeeSting cake, the beats tasting thing I have had there! Being they are homemade things right in the cafe-bakery they are a tad expensive, which is why they only get 4 stars from me. If you are getting things for work this a great place to go! They also do catering and weddings. Give them a try, you will be glad you did!

You had 3 stars until your employee John Cagle decided to call me names today on Yelp and harrass me for being honest about the poor service that I received at Fridas. A good business would reach out to a customer to make a bad experience better...but John decided to attack me because of my honest review. So i went to your facebook page and it appears that poor customer service and telling people to take their business elsewhere is common for you...thats pretty sad. I spent $26 on soup, a sandwich, a non refillable flavored coconut water, a cupcake and a cronut...then left feeling robbed. If your cupcakes tasted like they were worth $4-5 then I wouldnt feel as slighted. The sandich was good, the mushroom bisque was excellent, cronut was excellent and the cupcake was just ok. The worst part of the experience was me standing at the bakery counter for 10 minutes waiting for someone to help me...it wasnt busy and 3 or 4 people walked right by and didnt even offer to help me. I dont care if its not your job to wait on me and your job is in the back, you still represent the business and if you walk past me 3x and see me standing there forever ASK SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP ME. Dear front counter help girl with glasses and no name tag...when you finished helping your customer and knew that i had been standing there forever...good customer service is to apologize for the delay!

So I came here because I haven't had a cupcake in a long, long time and I used to love them. My, how cupcakes have changed. Very extravagant with more options than I could ever imagine. However, my tastes are simple. But it's the simple things that I know a lot about, like burgers and pepperoni pizza. I ordered a chocolate mousse cupcake and a death chocolate cupcake. These were way, way too rich for me. They were good, but it was like chocolate on crack. And there was very little cake in these cupcakes. It was basically a ton of frosting and chocolate in the shape of a cupcake. Whatever happened to the old fashioned yellow cake cupcakes with plain chocolate buttercream on top (maybe some sprinkles too)? If you like fancy, very rich cupcakes, this is definitely the place for you. If you like a genuine, classic cupcake, don't bother. Oh, and $4 for a single cupcake?? Shaking my chocolate-infused head.

I had a sandwich here and let me tell you I wasn't impressed. I got a turkey and gouda cheese pressed sandwich and it was all diced. It gave it the consistency of tuna fish (from a can). I was expecting the slices of turkey and cheese. Like I said I really wasn't impressed and wished we had gone to Panera. There cakes and deserts look great, but its not enough to bring me back.

Good solid place for lunch. Everything I've had here is always hood and fresh, plus they serve the meals with a piece of coconut bread. You can't go wrong with a side of coconut bread. I also love the variety of flavored water. Tea or lemonade the have. This week it was pomegranate water and coconut lemonade. I mixed the two and it was refreshing and tasted good. They have an extensive backery but I've never had their baked goods so I can't really tell you much about that. Definitly a place to stop in and grab some lunch

Definitely a 5 star restaurant. Everything is fresh and delicious. Wonderful variety of soups, sandwiches, salads and pastries. I love to bring a friend or guest to Frida's for lunch. They offer an art gallery of beautiful desserts. I've dined in many fine restaurants and Frida's ranks in the top notch category.

First visit since moving to the area a year ago to Frida's cafeteria style bakery and cafe in an area food desert. I was hungry for a simple oatmeal breakfast but none was offered at Frida's Cafe. I ordered the Garden Vegetable quiche. Heavy on the crust, it had none of the spinach offered and was only lightly balanced with tomato. I wanted more tomato. It was one-note in texture, heavy in portobello mushroom and no balance with onion or spinach. The Asiago cheese was negligible. Or was it supposed to be Swiss? It tasted reheated in a microwave. The egg in it was tasteless. It should have been an organic egg. Nothing fresh on the plate. Not even a strawberry. There was a piece of quick bread which tasted of cardamom. A sign says "Say No to processed foods" but that is all you see in the displays. A sea of donuts, cookies, scones and cakes! The cappuccino was late in arriving. Pretty average in flavor. The staff were struggling with an espresso machine on the fritz. I had to go to the counter twice, once for each segment of the meal. The bakery was heavily populated by tourists. The are baked gluten free options. They use natural hormone free chicken and roast their own beef and turkey. I wonder if they are humanely treated before arriving here. Perhaps I'll return for a luncheon salad sometime. Come to think of it, only a lack of other good local dining options would have me returning. They're a local hero for contributions to charities. Good for them!

I love this bakery! My only complaint is that I wish I lived closer to it (which would be dangerous!). I love that they have plenty of gluten free options as well as vegetarian (on their lunch menu). Their almond cookies are the best! I can't wait to go back again when I'm in the area!

There customer service from there manager is uncaring and uninterested for special memories I went in to order a cake and he made sure to tell me it was gonna cost a lot and I assured him I was ok with that. I gave him my number and emailed him pictures of a cake I wanted. He never called me back I called and he acted like he didn't now who I was and what I was talking about. In the end I never got my cake and will never buy from there again

Thank you Yelpers for helping me find another awesome business! Frida's was definitely worth the drive down to Largo. When I walked in at first I was wondering where the sweets were. I walked around the counter and, lo and behold, I found the sugary treasure trove. All kinds of delectables lined up along the horizon. Pies, cookies, cakes, truffles, and all sorts of pastries called my name, but in the end I was fixed upon the Tiramisu. It looked beautiful and delicious, and the price was right. This treat was a triple threat. I'm happy to report that my Tiramisu was everything it appeared to be. The different textures of mousse and cake with the chocolate shell were a great contrast, and the flavors complimented one another perfectly. The only part of this dessert that caught me off guard was the small pool of brandy at the bottom of the shell. It definitely tasted half way to a cocktail, but I'm not complaining. Frida's also has a cafe menu that I intend to explore the next time I come here. If their sandwiches and soups are anywhere near as good as my dessert was then this is going to be a trip I'll have to make more often.

This is why I prefer local businesses. This place is ah-mazing! Beautiful big counter displays of their desserts, breads, bagels. Every time I've been here for lunch, the food is superb. I'm addicted to their Asian salad. They carry gluten free bread and desserts also. I just had the gluten free turkey and avocado sandwich and it was divineee! Their pomegranate water is yummy. And their coconut bread- WOW. I need that recipe!! I haven't had the pleasure to try their desserts yet, except for the gluten free stuff, and that was very good as far as gluten free sweets go! It's moderately priced, but well worth it in my opinion. Lots of seating available inside and outside and this place is always packed during weekday lunch hours. Customer service is wonderful, everyone is very helpful and friendly. It's cool too that their bakery is all open so you can kinda watch them from the restaurant area. They also offer online ordering so I normally order online and drive over there to pick up so- no wait!

Frida's Cafe is close to my work and so I periodically stop in for treats for myself and my Husband. On this last trip I was VERY happy to realize that they have Cronuts (which they call glazed croissants)! I have been wanting to try Cronuts since they became a thing and these were my first. So, I really have nothing to compare them to. I can tell you however that they were AMAZING. I don't think I ever want a regular donut again. I also picked up two "almond cookies" that were BOGO. These were long cookies that looked sort of like shortbread with almonds on them. They looked interesting, but not super special. When we ate them 2 days later I realized that they are something VERY special. They were chewy and moist (not dry like they looked) with just a hint of honey throughout the entire cookie for sweetness. So delicious. I will have a hard time not ordering these at every future visit. Frida's also has regular donuts, bagels, sandwiches, cakes, scones, cookies, pastries, coconut macaroons and just about every delicious sugary treat you can imagine. I have yet to try something here that I did not like. I will be returning.

Nice European style bakery including breakfast and lunch options. Also enjoy the variety of pastries that they have. I frequent this place for breakfast as it's one of the nicer options to meet a friend in central Pinellas County. They have nice breakfast/lunch sandwiches and soups and a complete coffee bar with all sort of caffeine options. A plus at this bakery is a ton if gluten free options for pastries, breads and menu items. They seem pretty diligent about respecting the GF clientele. I purchases GF bread and asked them to slice it. They warned me that their slicer accommodated all of their breads and would contaminate the GF bread I had purchased. Their pastries and donuts are good. I don't stop in regularly other than to meet friends for breakfast or lunch (super crowded at lunch). If I buy pastries, it's to take a special treat to my husband's office or a small gathering. Their cakes are nice and they offer a variety of options. They also make custom cakes. If I'm looking for a nice cake, such as red velvet or carrot, to bring to a friend's, I'd stop here rather than a grocery story. I'm not sure I'd buy that special cake for a birthday or shower, they cakes are OK but not super high end bakery quality but then again, they're more affordable than a high end bakery. I'd recommend this place if you wanted to meet a friend for breakfast. It's super crowded at lunch and on the weekends. If you want different donuts, pastries or cake to bring somewhere special or to work, this would suit your needs. Not sure I'd recommend it for super special wedding, shower or birthday cakes.

Oh how this location reminds of a New York style bakery and deli. I came in for breakfast and was warmly greeted with a smile and a hello. There was no pressure on placing my order as I was perusing the menu. Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly and accommodating throughout my experience. I ordered a ham, egg and cheese panini to stay with a coffee. It wasn't very busy so there wasn't much of a wait. The sandwich came out on a real plate and was dressed simply but very nice. And it even included a small turnover. What I really enjoyed about this bakery is you can watch the bakers performing their craft right out in the open. I was very impressed by this. The shelves and display cases were completely filled with a huge assortment of goodies. Unfortunately, I had to walk away from them for now. I will most definitely return here, probably tomorrow.

Best bakery around, there pastries are so flavorful and fresh. You feel as if you are strolling into a wonderful aromatic bakery filled with cinnamon, nutmeg, or chocolate coupled with a strong coffee smell. The hazelnut latte is to die for. Their cakes are an extraordinary piece of art.

I ordered the steak, cheese and portabella panini sandwich. The Flavor is there the sandwich just lacks actual roast beef. I took a bite and it looked like I had ordered a cheese panini. In top of the extra one dollar charge for substituting the provolone cheese for mozzarella cheese it's insane. Please don't order the pomegranate, coconut lemonade, or iced tea home made drinks they are awful. They taste like water. Check in using the Facebook or yelp application for a free drink or coffee.

This is a great option for lunch. The food is made fresh with fresh ingredients. I've only had one item for lunch because it is too good to change it up. I get the avocado chicken salad. It's chicken salad made with avocados on top of a salad with pecans and feta. The homemade yogurt dressing is fabulous! It comes with a piece of coconut bread which is light and tasty. I've also tried the cheesecake with chocolate ganache and it was decadent!

Quite a few gluten free options: bread, a "biscotti" and raspberry jam topped individual cheesecake (which I had and was outstanding), a almond canoe shaped cookie with the ends dipped in chocolate (which my companion had) that was also outstanding. There was an individual chocolate cake that looked wonderful also. Others in our party had wanted breakfast and were told they were no longer serving breakfast. When one asked if they had anything "like breakfast" they steered him to a panini with eggs and fresh spinach, which he loved. Another companion also had a panini and loved it. I had iced coffee which was great. Rest in party ordered hot coffee which was great too. Woman running the place was not friendly and short when people weren't ready to order, but my server (a young woman) was kind and helpful to me. In short, really great tasting gluten free goodies and coffee. None of my group had anything but wonderful things to say about Frieda's.

Quality locally-owned bakeries seem to be harder and harder to find. Frida's is a gem and they do really well despite a pretty awful location with all of the construction on Ulmerton Road. I stopped there to bring some treats home for the family - an apple fritter, blueberry cake donut, cronut, and a raspberry filled sandwich cookie. It was all amazing - especially the apple fritter! I thought Fray's Donut House was the only place in the Bay Area with a terrific apple fritter, but I think Frida's surpasses them. The cronut was delicious as well. The kids seemed to love their raspberry sandwich cookie. They have a really wide selection of baked goods with what seems to be a specialty in unique desserts/cookies. All in all I would definitely come back here for bakery items and to try out their lunch menu. Happy to have found them!

I have been hearing rave reviews from everyone and this place does not disappoint. The sweet baked goods are amazing - I tried quite a few different items and everything was delicious. Want to go back and try more treats :) my kids loved it too!!!

Today was my 3rd visit here, but didn't equate to the positive previous visits when it came to the food. The broccoli soup posted as a special was not available at all as of 10:40am, I was given many other choices. I was offered to taste the onion but chose a cup of the potato bacon. The cup was tiny, served with a small piece of spice cake, pricy and had a very disappointing thin watery consistency. I also ordered a sausage, egg and cheddar breakfast sandwich on a crescent. The prepared outcome was a microwaved sausage patty served on a raisin bagel with tasteless cheese and an egg so hot it burned my mouth (appeared to be microwaved too). For the price paid I could have gotten 1.5 of those at the golden arches and possibly a better chance of getting the correct bread requested. Regarding price, if I wanted a cheese and berry danish on the side I would have ordered one. So that said I recommend providing a piece of fruit or nothing at all and drop the price to fit what you serve. If you choose the house brewed iced tea be sure to order the amount you want b/c there are no refills offered. I have previously enjoyed the chicken avocado sandwich there and other soups they offer. Those are what I will continue to order or better yet their extensive amount of baked goods. The doughnuts look delicious and cookies defiantly rank 10 out of 10 in my eyes. Trying to read the chalk board menu was difficult to understand and the prices are not posted for those of us on a budget. I recommend reading at the menu displayed on the westside of the counter next to the register. The service was courteous today and the cashier at the glass display case sounded very knowledgable from the explanations and recommendations she gave to other patrons on the sweets. If you have a special event to get a sweet treat for try this place out, the variety is the best I have seen in Pinellas County- so that will be my choice of purchase if I go back and Yes Meh. I've experienced better.

Yes, they have natural-ish house-made lunches and breakfasts, but I came for the desserts. I'm here to say Frida's desserts make a girl happy! A real bakery using real ingredients!! Hard to find around these parts. I sampled two cakes by the slice -- (1) pumpkin with cream cheese frosting, and (2) chocolate with choc frosting and ganache. Very good. Pumpkin had good flavor and texture. Frosting complemented cake well. And then nothing goes with chocolate better than chocolate, and the choc/ganache slice did not disappoint. (Except a tad sweet) Also tried pecan bar (long cookie) and poppy Danish. Danish was "eh" but cookie was excellent. Good dry texture, with flavor of nut coming through. There is a nice assortment of cakes, whole and slices, pastry, cookies and pies. They're very good. I am accustomed to high end NYC pastries and cakes and Frida's are not that -- they are sweeter than I prefer -- but they are very good. Even more so given the dental FL location and dearth of genuine bakeries. Oh! And very good espresso! Counter servers were very nice, pleasant and helpful, without being pushy. Worth the drive!

I am still getting over the fact that they were playing Thai music here when I walked in. What a serendipitous moment! And the fact that one of my ex-coworkers is a part-time employee here now and I didn't know it until I walked in. She has no influence on this review, by the way, but I just wanted to share that! Frida's is relatively close to my job and almost on a monthly basis one of my coworkers (current) gets a sweet tooth. Luckily it's a generous sweet tooth because she will buy doughnuts for everyone at work! I'm a glazed doughnut kind of girl and there's is no different from Dunkin Donut or Krispy Kreme. I like that they are a locally owned business as opposed to a chain. Secondly, I walked in here to order a sugar-free birthday cake for my fiance and to inquire into a sugar free wedding cake for our upcoming wedding. As of right now, they no longer have sugar-free regular cakes so I ordered a dozen sugar-free cupcakes instead. As for the wedding cake, I was told to come back and ask the owners directly if they could do such a thing. I look forward to picking up our cupcakes next week and updating my review!

This review is for the desserts and pastries only. We did not hare a meal here. The hubby and I were visiting St. Petersburg and drove to Largo for some pie. We initially found ourselves somewhere else, but the other place we went to was closed. So we decided to give Frida's a try. Our tongues Sure were happy we stopped by here! we got a chocolate pecan bar, an almond cookie, a pecan crescent cookie, and some sort of chocolate cake. They were all scrumptious! Everything was so great that we drove all the way back to Largo a couple of days later to get some more pastries. This is definitely a must stop place if you are in the area.

Local places with continuous car pile ups in the lot says a lot about a place. If I'm willing to play Frogger through the deadly Ulmerton Road for Frida's offerings, then I'm sure others have too haha. SUGAR FOR THE EYES It doesn't matter which entrance--the first thing you see are smiling faces and baked goods on display. And behind THOSE you'll see tray upon tray of more products getting ready to go out. And smell that! MmmMmm. Sinfully yummy. My experience with their Donuts and similar Pastries have all ranged from "I want to marry this" to "I want to marry this and have its babies." REPEAT THIS - nothing is insanely unique or mind blowing, but the nommies here are the consistent, warm and comfortable--the kind you want to marry. The outside crisp of the Donuts is gentle while the inside is soft and fluffy. Even the Icing isn't overwhelming in sweetness and is the right texture--not melting immediately but not crackling hard. They have a few 'more gourmet' looking treats as well as mini meals but I haven't tried those. A SWEET SPOT With about a dozen small tables inside and a handful more on their raised wooden patio, this place definitely welcomes the crowd to sit, relax and enjoy (too bad the only view from the outdoor seating has to be yucky Ulmerton Rd). And there normally IS a crowd enjoying!

Oh Frida's, I love you! Our wedding cake was made by Frida's and it was yummy! I should know, I ate the entire leftovers and gained 10 pounds from that red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. Yummy! Stop here, if you are in Clearwater/ Largo area!

Frida's is amazing, incredible fresh baked goods, sandwiches, coffee, and more. The store is clean, well lit and welcoming. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is incredible, a sandwich comes with a piece of sweet bread or a small bear claw made fresh. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bakery is visible from the eating area. It's spotless and well organized. I've never been disappointed.

I was on the hunt for a Cuban bakery (open in the evening) and Yelp lead me here. I was a little disappointed upon arrival because this is a European bakery, not Cuban. This bakery was impressive nonetheless. I tried the carrot cake, cherry strudel, and raspberry biscotti cheesecake. All were absolutely delicious. I also got a caramel iced coffee that was very good. The only bad thing I have to say is that the service was poor. Both ladies behind the counter were not very pleasant - they acted annoyed that they had to wait on customers. I'm sure to be returning but I would appreciate friendlier service.

One of my favorite places of all time. They have it all. Coffee and specialty drinks, breakfast, lunch, and amazing desserts. You can't go wrong with their paninis, or any sandwich, for that matter. The panini bread is one of my favorite breads on the planet. They also offer gluten free options. Did I mention the amazing desserts? Oh, and that they're fresh and there is a huge selection. Do yourself a favor and don't miss Frida's, but beware--it's addictive.

Went in for breakfast....not that impressed. I was greeted by a less than friendly person named Melissa...I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese panini...soooo disappointed in this thing. I had maybe 2 small thin strips of bacon and no cheese on this. I tried a couple of the breakfast pastries and they are nothing to brag about...I could have went to a little drive thru donut chain place and gotten better and a lot cheaper. Glad I used the deal for the free coffee. That was the only good thing about the experience.

Horribly over rated bakery. Been here quite a bit.Definitely not european as they claim. I am european and if they were in Europe with this place they would be out of business.Everything here is very sweet. Only thing moderately good is there lunch. But panera has better lunch.

If the morning rush seems reminiscent of a Christmas Eve sale at a Dollar Store then you know some place knows their business. Oh the smell the smell. The scurrying employees behind the counter dressed in those funny chef suits are asking what I want to order and I want to scream "Everything!" at them while pointing wildly at all the tempting pastries just posing from behind glass. Food porn is real. At Frida's they are languishly stretched out in rows inside the glass counters or perched atop the racks (baking racks I mean). They are tempting my eyes. No resistance! I throw my dollah dollah bills at the staff all-too-happy to serve. I sit at one of the many, many café tables for this private moment. Their dozen or so donut types, mini cakes, cookies, and familiar pastries. It's always a delicate crust surrounding the fluffiest pastry. Even if your teeth tear through the crust the entire pastry doesn't collapse but grits its teeth and bares the love. Now I'm drooling at the thought and need more.

I went back to this place for the first time in one year. I missed this place very much... I got my usual "Strawberry Shortcake" (absolutely delicious). I wanted to get something new besides my strawberry shortcake. So I asked the person who was taking my order which ones are not too sweet. And she goes "everything has a perfect amount of sweetness!" I absolutely hate answers like that!! So not helpfull. Yes I understand you want to tell me everything is great at this place but I just wanted something less sweet. Is it that hard to understand? So with no help from the lady, I decided to try their Tiramisu and Hazelnut Mousse. And I topped the order with their pecan bar. I usually love Tiramisu but this one was a little different. Not the kind I like unfortunately. Now the hazelnut mousse was excellent!!! It was rich and sweet but not too sweet. It was actually perfect with a cup of coffee. The pecan bar was great too! it was kinda like a short bread type of cookie with huge pecans in it!!! I love this place and my dream is to accomplish every single thing they have on the menu!!! P.S. Not only the not-so-helpful lady did not help me picking the cakes, but she charged me for Strawberry cheesecake instead of starwberry shortcake. So my bill was overcharged. I was not gonna go back inside for a dollar overcharge but still I just hoped the whole experience to be better. I am not going to change my 5 rating star just because of this one lady. I still love this place!!

There are better bakeries.... Hellas in Tarpon, Lucky Dill in Palm Harbor and even Publix. Frida's cakes are dry, so are the macaroons. The pecan bars have a funky taste. I am not impressed by this place...I will not be going back.

Overall, the food and desserts are pretty good here; however, it only gets three stars from me because the service is not the nicest. Especially Frida herself. I found her car keys to get Audi TT in the parking lot and she barely even acknowledged that I did anything for her by bringing her keys to her.

Every time I get a new co worker, it seems like the first stop is always to Frida's. I originally was taken here by an old coworker. There is a lot of construction happening on Ulmerton, especially near Frida's, but don't let that deter you. They have two parking lots, so if the first one looks full, there is another one behind it. I have never had a problem getting a spot. When you order a sandwich or a meal of some sort, you always get a small dessert with it. The dessert changes daily. It is nice to have a sweet end to a meal. I absolutely love the avocado chicken salad. Don't be mistaken, it is not like an actual salad with lettuce or greens, but more like a chicken salad sandwich without the bread. It is divine. This dish alone makes me give Frida's 5 stars. I am salivating right now thinking about it and I just ate lunch! It is a little strange in color, due to the avocados, but don't let that stop you. Sometimes they have it in round plastic containers on ice in front of the register. I just stop by, grab one, and am quickly on my way. The desserts are absolutely fantastic too. They have mini cakes, which are the perfect size for two people to share (or one person to really go to town). I got the chocolate mousse cake and just a bite gave me a chocolate fix. I carried it around with me the rest of the day and snuck bites out of it. This is a really low key place with high quality food. You order at the register and then quickly get your food. They actually do have wifi. You just need to ask for the password.

I had lunch at this Frida's, really wanting to come for the bakery. Who doesn't get excited for dessert? My sandwich was good. Not outstanding. Apparently not memorable either as I have a hard time recalling which sandwich I actually ate. Dessert was borderline atrocious. I had the tiramisu and a pecan turtle. The turle was good. I'll credit them that. I'm not sure I've had a turtle to that blows my mind. Guess it's hard to set yourself apart in that department. The tiramisu. Boy, oh boy was I deceived. It was more of a tiramisu mousse? I started reading reviews AFTER I began digging in. However, the sign in the display did not make a distinction that it was not actually tiramisu the way you would normally think of it. There was not enough lady finger at the bottom. Barely any at that fact. All in all, my taste buds were deeply disappointed.

Who doesn't love this place? If you're lucky enough to live in the area you're lucky. If not, it's worth traveling for. The presentation of everything on display is amazing and the taste backs it up. From simple bagels to extravagant pastries, Fridas encompasses it all. They also have a great lunch menu with lots of great sandwich and salad options.

After driving past Frida's so many times, I decided to try it out for lunch. Grabbed a turkey sandwich and was pretty impressed with how tasty the turkey was. Pretty fresh and filling. But of course, I had to have dessert, no matter how filling lunch was. All the desserts are staring at you from the glass case as you eat. How could you not be tempted to buy one or even two?! I decided on the strawberry shortcake, which looked amazing and well crafted. Key word here is LOOKED. Once I dug in, I was NOT satisfied. At all. Maybe because I had high expectations for the pastries based on everyone else's reviews. My strawberry shortcake was practically ALL whipped cream. Short(of)cake foreal. Not that I don't love whipped cream, I do, but I could easily buy a tub of Cool Whip & call it a day. The little cake I did have wasn't moist. Overall, I think what was missing was the actual strawberry taste, even if it was lined with strawberries. I wanted my strawberry syrup. I somehow feel obliged to go back and give another pastry a try, though. Maybe I just picked the wrong one. I believe everyone deserves a second chance.

I've been here many times. Their roast beef sandwich is the best I've ever had. Their food is a little pricey but definitely worth it every once in a while. The bakery items agree the best I've seen around. They typically have a large selection and variety. Their cookies are good. Big but average tasting. Their donuts are big and tasty. Their small cakes can be pricy but very delicious. Overall I enjoy this place way more than Panera Bread. Their roughly the same but Fridas offers more bakery items. Wish they had more than one location though.

PERFECTION!! I got suckered in by the tempting case filled with desserts! We are from Tampa but anytime we cross the bridge we make sure to stop at Frida's! The desserts we had to attack first then one day we also got lunch and the sandwiches and soups did not disappoint! The coffee and donuts were delicious as well and there is nothing at this bakery that is less than perfect. I love how the kitchen is open and you can see what is going on. I wish there was a Frida's bakery closer to my house because I am in love with this cute and friendly bakery! :)

People could be nicer, but you can't beat their chipotle mayo. The only thing we wonder is... How fresh can all those pastries be? To be fair, we haven't had those yet, we usually get a breakfast or lunch panini. All in all, shit's legit.

Recently moved to Largo from the 'Burg and this is one of the places I was looking forward to checking out. After 3 visits, I can say that the food is really good and I'm a fan. On my first visit I just checked the place out, picked up a menu and checked out the pastries. I was not there to buy anything, but left with a beautiful brownie. I love brownies and I could NOT leave there without it! It tasted as good as it looked. There was plenty for the two of us that ate it. I've had two dining experiences since browniegate and find the food to be really good, fresh and creative. It's really easy to eat healthy here if that's your thing. I find the pricing to be ok considering portion sizes. You'll pay 7-8 bucks for a sammie but they are huge and If I can eat off of it twice for that little money then yeah, that works for me. The half of the steak portabella panini that I have in the fridge won't make it through the night :-)

Until i found this place i went to donkin. Nothing can beat fridas donuts. It's unlike cheap donuts that are on the market- softness, not too sweet, it's just perfect. Very clean, I like that its open kitchen- you can see what they are doing inside.

have a sweet tooth, need a cake or baked goods . . . this is your place. They also have breakfast and lunch. They serve an assortment of sandwiches, soup, salad, quiche. They make it all there. I've liked everything I've eaten there or shared with others. If you dine in they put a little "surprise" on your plate. They have amazing green tea and other flavored fresh made teas.

Frida's is top notch when it comes to baked goods, salads and gourmet breakfast items. Their food is so good, you almost can't stop eating, even when you are full. The food is good quality so I don't mind paying a little more but the food is reasonably priced, for the quality and amount that you get. Their coffee is freshly ground, and their customer service is excellent.

Frida's has wonderful gourmet looking desserts, which of course I sampled. I had the Tiramisu mouse chocolate cup of epic deliciousness, it was beautifully crafted and tasted amazing! which is saying something since I usually do not enjoy desserts that are whipped cream cups. My wife had the chocolate counterpart to my tiramisu which was almost the same but a chocolate whipping instead of the tiramisu flavoring. she enjoyed it so much she can't decide what she likes better. Frida's desserts or Paciugo's gelato. I will definitely be returning tot his establishment, not just for more desserts, but to try some of their lunch menu options as well.

Cafe and Bakery that has unique choices and menu options. What's great about this place is that if you're still hungry for more, you can still order more, right there! I would suggest any of their breakfast options as well as lunch. All fresh, gourmet, european, unique, and quick!

Pastries to go! Plethora of delicious pastries to choose from.. haven't seen a selection like this outside of Europe or DC. Amazing! Coffee and sandwiches are a bit pricy for what it is. Place is packed all the time (like sardines) so it's best to grab your goodies and go. Definitely will return for pastries & cakes to celebrate special occasions but not for lunch fare.

Had been to this place before, because my daughter lives in the area. I believe we stopped for lunch, and maybe one other time for coffee and pastries. Now that my husband and I are spending the winter here, we're always looking for places for breakfast that serve something different. Decided to give Fridas a try this morning and was very disappointed. I ordered the "Sweet Apple Panini" described as: fresh egg topped with smoked Applewood bacon, grilled sweet apples, fresh mozzarella cheese, and spinach. What I got was similar - but not very good! The bacon was nearly raw, apples tasted like a thin spread of apple preserves (not the fresh apples they described), mozzarella cheese was still cold (not melted at all), and there was way too much raw spinach leaves on it. it was served with a small cherry Danish - which was tasty. My husband ordered a slice of Quiche that was suppose to come with a slice of coconut bread. What he was serve was a piece of quiche that had a very thick crust and little filling. Instead of the coconut bread, he received a piece of banana cake, which he said was good. We both ordered a medium coffee...which they put the cream & sugar in before giving it to us. Mine was too sweet and I would have preferred putting my own amount of sugar in! Unless we want a pastry or dessert-we probably won't go back. On another note, I witnessed a server putting her fingers all over the rim of a cup while putting a paper sleeve on it...not very sanitary!

Went here for the first time this week and the place was really cute inside. Super clean and the food is presented beautifully. However, as much as I wanted to like this place, I probably wouldn't come here for the cake again. Picked up an Italian Rum cake for a party for close to $30 along with a gluten free chocolate cupcake and one other pastry involving mousse. Everyone at the party thought the pastries and cake looked great, but once we tried all of them everyone was pretty unimpressed. The Italian Rum cake was fairly bland, the gluten free chocolate cupcake barely tasted like chocolate and a few people commented that they felt like the cocoa was just replaced with sugar. Too sweet and not enough flavor. Same for the other pastry. It was a chocolate cake with whipped caramel mousse on top and that was not very good either. Really wanted to like this place, but if I go back, it will be for the regular food and I will probably go elsewhere for specialty bakery items.

I was amazed at all the baked good options Frida's had. The sheer number of choices from cookies, donuts, muffins, pastries, and so on, it's really hard to choose. I ended up trying a bunch of things and came to one sad conclusion, Frida's just don't use fresh fruit in any of the baked goods that involve fruit. Their blueberry muffins don't have much blueberry flavor and the little frozen blueberries don't cut it. Their apple turnover is nearly identical to a hostess apple pie, just full of sugary "apple" goo you get from canned pie filling. I refuse to think that all of their baked goods are disappointing as so many of them looked amazing, so just stick to something that doesn't involve fruit and I'm sure it will be fine.

Went here for lunch the other day and noticed they have a newer menu. I tried the fresh beet salad. I substituted some raspberry vinaigrette instead of the blue cheese dressing. It definitely needed something, maybe more acid. They forgot to put on the cherry tomatoes and I was almost finished with the salad when I finally noticed. That may have helped, but this is not the first time I thought one of their salads needed something like a different flavor or texture. The beets were huge and would have been better cut up a little more instead of big clunky ingredients. Again, something I thought of last time I had a salad from here.

Went to Frida's for the first time today for a snack and was very impressed! The selection of yummy desserts to choose from was incredible! Great local Tampa Bay business and this is the perfect spot to grab dessert for a dinner party hostess or for a new neighbor. This is also a great lunch spot. The dining area is large and there is plenty of parking. It is clean and the staff is friendly. There are a lot of choices on the menu and can be overwhelming. I had the classic chicken salad on croissant and it was perfect. I give this local business 5 stars!

I love this place! The donuts are large and moist and are not that much more expensive than Dunkin. The apple fritters are the size of your head and very tasty. They are a bit more expensive than most other dessert shops but well worth it. My only complaint is when you order coffee with cream and sugar they fill the cup to the brim and tell you the cream and sugar is at a counter off to the side. Hard to add cream and sugar when the coffee is already overflowing. Both times I have ordered coffee there I had to pour some in the trash can to make room for the creamer but I guess that is better then too little coffee.

A hidden gem on busy Ulmerton Road, my fiance and I were impressed with the size of the kitchen operation as soon as we walked in. We were in a bind: our wedding was only four days away, and the cake and cookie part of our Venetian dessert table had fallen through by an unorganized bakery. We were about to throw our hands up in the air and go with grocery store cakes, when we saw Frida's. Stopping in to take a glance at the cakes, we decided we'd sample one (carrot cake) to see if we should go with them. It was delicious. The balance of flavor, sweetness and spice, was absolutely right. We ordered carrot cake, Italian Rum cake, and red velvet cake, as well as a platter of assorted cookies. Very well received, and disappeared quickly! We highly recommend Frida's and thank them for their quick and wonderful turnaround!

1st ever visit to Frida's! I had the La Torta Slice - Tuna Salad, ($4.49): They build 1 huge sandwich, then slice it into separate sandwiches. 3 layers of Yum. Top layer: Pickle chip, sliced cucumbers, sliced tomatoes, garnished with alfafa sprouts that drape down the sides. (Great presentation) Whole grain bread. Middle layer: slices of real cheddar cheese Whole grain bread. Bottom layer: creamy tuna salad Whole grain bread. Mom got the Garden Veggie Quiche ($6.69, $4.49 w/o salad): Spinach, Portobello Mushrooms, tomatoes, & Asiago cheese Huge slice, steaming hot, & delicious! She got a side salad with it - it was perfect. We tried one of their beignets.. It was huge! I was a little disappointed though, they didn't use powdered sugar, but granular instead - and the inside was cold. Their pastry section, you can get lost in. I wanted to order 1 of each! They had free samples of their Pecan Diamond pastry - Yum. The Daily Special is what REALLY caught my eye though... Alligator Panini. You can't get THAT at Panera! I chicken out though & didn't try it. Maybe next time. More pluses: free wifi, real lemon ice water, pomegranate water, fresh brewed green tea, catering, coffee, lattes, expresso, frozen drinks, wedding cakes, etc! Clean & friendly atmosphere.

I'd been to Frida's a few times. The pastries are ok. They are usually loaded with sugar, which puts me off a little, but they were always decent. My better half decided she wanted to try their wedding cakes for our upcoming nuptials. So we call ahead to schedule a "tasting." Apparently we were going to meet with Frida herself (I'm assuming her name is Frida). We had to buy the cakes we were going to sample. Five dollars per cake. I should have known then that this was going to be a joke. So we ordered two white cakes, one with strawberry filling and the other with raspberry. So we show up and the illustrious Frida does not grace us with her presencedespite our appointment. Instead the cashier guy brings us our two cakes on a cafeteria tray with some forks and knives. He tells us "Go grab that pink pamphlet over there. Those are the prices." Clearly we were getting a wonderfully personalized experience. We also got a crusty binder filled with about 20 poorly taken photographs of previous wedding cakes they had made. After we cut the cake, cashier guy re-emerges to tell us we got yellow cake instead of white because "we can't make white cake for tastings." Now obviously that makes no sense whatsoever, so I'm assuming they just made the wrong kind of cake for us and needed to pass it off. The cakes themselves were about on par with something you'd find at a grocery store for a kids birthday. They were only missing the giant Elmo on the top. They were overly sugary to the point where I started to feel sick. I was corect, it was a big joke. We should've asked for our money back, and I'm sorry I didn't. But the ten dollars was well spent for a lesson learned. This place is ridiculous. I can say honestly that I'll never be back even for their average pastries.. This level of service made it clear what they think of their customers.

Great spot for a good salad or sandwich. I've yet to have a bad meal on the many visits. If you go gluten free, they have the best chocolate chip cookie version in the world!

Have been going here for several years now and love it. The sandwiches and salads are great (my favorite is La Torta slice) and the desserts taste as good as they look. And I can honestly say this because I think I have tried them all! The raspberry biscotti cheesecake is to die for. As pretty as the cakes are, don't miss out on the cookies! The raspberry almond canoes are my personal favorite but they also make a great plain old chocolate chip. Love sitting outside when the weather is nice. Prices are reasonable for the quality and service has been great. I have had issues with other customers cutting ahead of me when waiting at the bakery case (not sure if they are rude or just oblivious). Maybe they need to rope off an area so customers can form a line....?

Do you love sweets? Well, sure you do if you are looking up reviews for bakery, lol. I'm being 100% when I say that desserts are awesome but Multi Whole Grain bread is the best thing. Ever since we tried that bread we go back over and over! It is a little chewy which is so great because most multigrain bread is not! Their take on chocolate macaroons is cool - they are flat with some dark chocolate in the middle of two layers. A little crunchy and chewy at the same time. Our little one was excited about the carrot cake and their delish cookies. Anyways, long story short, we love the place and will be back there as soon as the end of this week :-)

If you're looking for sweets/cakes, don't come here if you don't like chocolate. Being one of like five people in the world who hates chocolate in any form, I had a rough time here. In addition to cakes and tart, they had cookies, doughnuts, breads, and other food stuff (the menu had sandwiches and the usual cafe fare). I have driven by Frida's so many times before, and never stopped in. Today, I did. I didn't really take in the atmosphere or anything, but I stared into the refrigerated case of goodies for a while. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, and a chocolate mouse (not real, obviously, but it was cute). Blegh. I think there's some sort of belief that you can put chocolate in or on anything and it automatically makes it better and more amazing than other desserts. It's kind of hard to find a good non-chocolate dessert in this area, so I had the girl box up (in single serving sizes) a coconut cake, a carrot cake, and a mixed fruit tartlette. I grew up on mixed fruit (and strawberry or raspberry) tart. Overseas, they have a hard crust, a layer of a thick custard, whatever fruit/berries on it, and a glaze or powdered sugar. This mixed fruit tart had the hard crust (though noticeably thinner) and the fruit, but instead of a creme patisserie filling, it was almost like a heavy whipped cream. And then I look at the crust. There's a thin layer of chocolate between the crust and the cream. That killed it for me. Scratch that option off the list (and the girl helping me out even heard about my dislike of chocolate and made no comment! Did she just not know the product?). Who puts chocolate at the bottom of a traditional tart? It's like putting chocolate sauce on an apple pie. Thinking about it, maybe they have issues with using the whipped cream and thin crust getting soft so they made it into a barrier. Either way, just... uuughhh! I tossed the bottom half of it away. As for the other two! It was really hard to get a feel for the actual cake part of these mini cakes (I cut them up into fourths so I didn't consume all of the goods). For one, the icing to cake ratio is way off. Yikes, it's like a spoonful of frosting per square inch of cake. I normally like a bit more frosting, but I think they went overboard. The coconut one had a nice taste and texture from what I could tell, and the carrot cake was fine. Maybe it would be better in a bigger serving size where you can get more cake and less icing instead of a 4 inch cube with icing on all sides and a layer in the middle. I'm not sure if I can justify going back, even though all the other reviews online are ridiculously positive (am I a baked goods snob or does this area just lack a lot?). I grew up with patisseries and bakeries, so it's nostalgic to see pretty things in a glass case, but I'm having issues with the lack of interesting non-chocolate product. I think the other (single size) options that I could have gone with in the case were a napoleon (more whipped cream... boring!), a key lime tartlette (everyone in Florida has a key like pie, sorry but it's generic), and a cheesecake (cheesecake is cheesecake is cheesecake. sorry, never really enjoyed it, not worth the calories). Yeah, there were cookies, but I do enough cookie-making of my own. And for what it's worth, those three costed a whole $11. Not ridiculously expensive, but I'm not sure they were worth it. It makes me wish there was a Paul's here.

Excellent. Expensive but worth it, 'cause you'll be hard pressed to find anything close to the quality of the desserts and pasteries there. Closest you'll get to a European bakery in this area. A lot of variety to choose from they do serve sandwiches. If they added an expresso bar it would be perfect..

Our favorite bakery, salad and sandwich shop. People flock to this place because we just don't have that many independently-owned places like this one. Very unique. The salads are extremely healthy and creative to balance the dessert you MUST have one you get an eye-ful of their display case.

As often as we have driven past this place, we didn't become aware of it until an ad with a discount coupon in the Sunday paper caught our attention. The ambiance is not quite as "European-style" as described - although the space is awash with natural light, the mismatched furnishings look like they were gathered at a few different yard sales - but there's an extensive menu of sandwiches, salads, soups, both hot and iced coffee concoctions, and fruit smoothies, in addition to the wide array of tempting cakes, cookies, and pastries on display, all of them baked on the premises. (Considering the area is heavily populated with seniors unlikely to utilize it, free WiFi is a bit of a surprise.) Sticking to our resolve to skip sweets for the duration of Lent, we settled for hot panini sandwiches - mine a Reuben as an early celebration of St. Patrick's Day, my mother's an alleged "Italian" despite the roast beef, Swiss cheese, and chipolte mayonnaise included with the Genoa salami. Easily a half-pound of meat and cheese was on both; my only complaint was that the corned beef on mine tasted like it had bathed in brine much longer than necessary (three hours after eating it, I'm still gulping water in an attempt to sate my thirst). With a hefty loaf of Irish soda bread to go, the total tab was less than $11. Gazing longingly at a creation called "Chocolate Suicide," my mother suddenly remembered that Sundays aren't included in the forty days of Lent, and therefore we could indulge without guilt. I assured her the Easter Bunny would leave one in her basket instead. The cakes seem reasonably priced at $14.00, although I have no idea if they taste as good as they look. In thirty-five days, I'll let you know.

My family was supposed to visit me to celebrate my birthday this weekend, but because they couldn't come any longer, I decided to go to Frida's with my husband. For some reason, all I noticed on the menu were paninis, but the case of cakes and pastries looked phenomenal so I didn't mind. The problem I had with the place was the cashier and the cleanliness of the cafe. The cashier, was a bit choppy and bossy with me and she made me walk one side of the cafe to order my paninis and walk to the other side of the cafe to order my cakes. I must say that the food was great; I just didn't like how I was treated. I had to tell her several times that the order was to stay. I found the floor and the table s to be dirty. I understand that the staff cleaned off the tables, but they could have done a better job at wiping them off more frequently. I also noticed that the floor was dirty as I walked to the front of the bakery to get my lemonade from the fountain. In addition, the store closes a 5pm on a Sunday, and I noticed that the same girl who took my order came over twice to clean the area that we sat in which I didn't appreciate since sometimes it implies that the staff is trying to kick us out. What pissed me off even more was that I asked her if she could get me a box for one of my cakes and she told me to go to the counter. I took my plate up to the counter with my pumpkin roll, looked around for a while since no one paid me any attention, and finally a lady from the back noticed me and gave me a box. It made me angry that as a customer who spent over 30 bucks at a cafe had to go through so much trouble to get a take home box. I must admit that I have a chronic sweet tooth, but if I go there again, I will just take my order to go.

About TGI Friday

TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.

The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.
