There were 10 of us that went to Culver's in Largo for my son's birthday. We are from Wisconsin and have had Culver's many times and wondered if this Culvers would stack up. When we arrived it was BUSY. The place was packed, several people at the registers and hardley any tables were open. But the outside tables were completely open so we sat outside which was lovely. Our 2 families ordered and both order takers were pleasant and really seemed to care about our order. We even saw one of the owners helping behind the counter and she was kind and welcoming. All of our food came out hot, fresh, and just as we ordered. Someone in our group wanted butter and the person who brought our food said he would bring the butter right away. We went back to order custard and the experience was the same. Super busy but the cashier was friendly and our order was delivered just right. The fried cheese curds were heaven!! Everything was so good. And you could tell the entire staff was working hard to ensure a good time was had by all. I would highly recommend this Culver's. And we will be back often!!

Great burgers and fries , also the cheese curds are awesome! And don't forget to get some custard. The place is run very well for how busy they are. Steve (a manager I think) was really good at moving the lines along and also very friendly and took care of each person he interacted with. Take the kids, the prices are cheap and everything is made to order.

Good food and shakes. Service was wonderful and staff very kind. Defiantly new favorite place in The Clearwater area, especially after a long day at the beach.

Great fried chicken and shrimp dinners. Big helpings for food. Excellent price. Clean and airy. Cashiers and staff friendly. Will return for ice cream.....too full right now.

Culver's gets 4 stars for doing the best at what it is, a fast food chain with quality food and accurate service. I see the low ratings from months ago, and I am glad I waited to stop in. Everything I ordered was delicious, freshly prepared and accurately delivered. They have fresh green beans and the mashed potatoes are really mashed potatoes. I guess they had issues in the beginning, but I have stopped in 3 times now and have been blown away. The food quality is amazing for a fast food chain and the prices are low compared to 5 Guys (and much less greasy), heck, even McDonalds. I try to stay away from fast food, but I can't seem to stay away from Culver's lately. Disclosure: I have only eaten the butter burgers and sides. Have not tried the frozen custards or chicken items yet. Update: I have eaten all the things. I have cut out fast food, but will frequent Culver's for fresh food and healthy options. The chicken sandwich is really good, the salads are fresh, and the custard is awesome.

We stopped in to this Culver's because we weren't sure what they served and we're always willing to try something new. As it turns out, it's a quick serve that showcases a selection of burgers, sandwiches, soups, sides (definitely get some cheese curds!), and even a few dinner entrees. More important is the selection of frozen custard and all the toppings that are available. Everything we ordered was made fresh and the friendly service team brings the food to your table. There is also a drive through to grab a bite or custard to go.

We finally found an opportunity to stop by on Saturday morning. It is a nicely up-scaled fast food restaurant. We had been waiting for months while construction slowly crept along. At long last, we were finally in front of the massive overhead menu board. With an intense sense of urgency, we ordered. We both got the Culver's Deluxe burger with two patties and with everything on them. We also ordered fries, onion rings and some chocolate shakes. With our order number in hand, we scooped up a fist full of napkins (because bearded men are very messy eaters) and took a seat in a cozy booth. It only took a few minutes for our food to arrive pipping hot. The burgers actually looked like the promotional pictures on the walls! They are very similar to the burgers at Steak and Shake by virtue of the way they are cooked..smashed. They were quite tasty but I do prefer an un-smashed patty as far as consistency and bite goes. They did, however, taste better than Steak and Shake's burgers. I usually love crinkle cut fries but theirs have a coating on them that was a bit heavy. To my great glee, the onion rings were awesome. I will get the large size next time! As a heads-up to anyone ordering a milkshake, mine was not a beverage! It was a frozen dessert. Apparently, I do not have the lung capacity necessary to drink their milkshakes through a straw. It was very tasty to eat with the spoon provided, though. On our next visit, we will explore the many variety of choices that they offer but we will always get some onion rings!!!! Please stop by and give them a try.

After a long wait Culver's finally opened. Of course after researching their offerings in other states. We had to give it a try. First, we went about a week after they opened at night, line out the door. Once we got to the counter we had plenty of questions about the menu and the guy running the register was able to answer all of those questions and of course told us what was good. Myself and my wife got a combo burger meal with bacon, forgot the name. I got the cheese curds and I upgraded and got a concrete mixer with butterfingers and snickers. She got fries with hers and got a concrete mixer with whipped cream and brownie bits. For all of this it was about $27 which is pretty expensive for the quality of food. However being out first time thought you give it a try. After ordering we take a number and sit and wait for them to bring out our food. I enjoyed my burger the cheese curds were not for me, they tasted just how they look, fried batter with cheese in the middle, the first couple of them are good then they get nasty after awhile. The best part of the meal was the concrete mixer. Think of a Dairy Queen blizzard. Same concept and of course it is good! My wife didn't finish her burger she didn't care for it, however liked the mixer. Overall if you are planning in going here keep in mind this is "fast food" and is horrible for you. However if you do not mind that give this place a try for yourself, a welcome change to the offerings we have in the area. Just be sure to run an extra mile later on ;)

Culver's Butterburgers and Frozen Custard opened finally 7/16/14. A slight delayed opening due to Largo's strict permit structure. A welcomed new comer in the burger chain experience here in Florida. This burger establishment has it's roots in the Midwest, Wisconsin actually. Started in 1984 by a husband and wife, it's grown to over 500 units and is still family owned. As this was our first visit I had to go with what's made them famous an original Butterburger deluxe, double patty, cheese, mayo, pickles, onions, lettuce, and tomato on a lightly buttered toasted bun. All I can say is YES....welcome to Largo! I opted as my side chili fries, which were hot and delicious. My Bride chose the fish sandwich, North Atlantic Cod Filet. She said it was better than any fast food and even most restaurants! Not greasy with a nice outer crunch to it. We both had shakes with our meals. Creamy, thick, awesome, custard shakes. There is so much more than just burgers too. Shaved Prime Rib sandwich, chicken ( bone in or boneless), pork tenderloin, Reuben's, chopped steaks, and soups, salads. And for all you cheese heads Wisconsin Cheese Curds! So come on out to Largo and check out the new kid in town. You won't be disappointed.

All hope is lost! After my first two visits I swore that I would never return again. But my wife loves crinkle fries and wanted to try again. I decided to go in and order from the counter. When I entered, there was a lot of unhappy customers at the counter. Being the people-watcher that I am I observed customers interacting with the owner of the store trying to sort out their order mess. Unfortunately the owner was not able to please any of the customers and refunded their order. When the time for me to order, I stepped up and placed my order, paid and got my receipt and plastic number. I stepped aside and began to wait for my order. As I was waiting the owner saw me and asked if I was ok and being taken care of. I told him that I just ordered and was waiting for my order. He asked me if the crew had informed me that it would be 40 minutes? I laughed and said NO. So, he grabs my receipt and said LET ME GET YOU A REFUND. As he is doing this, he is also telling all the crew to move away from the registers and telling new customers that they are closed ,(it's 7:30 at night folks). I am thinking that I am getting a free meal, but he hands me my refund receipt and informs me that I won't be getting any food. I laughed again and let him know that this visit was supposed to be a redemption from the last two cluster bombed visits. He said that nobody should ever come back to this store...ever!

Back in college , I use to go to culver's all the time! Mmmm, butter burgers and frozen custard! Comparing this place to other Culver's... its about the same. Customer service is always nice, my food taste as expected and its pretty speedy process. No more, no less. I love the burgers, chili cheese fries, mozzarella sticks and frozen custard. I'm never disappointed when I go!

Very new, very clean. Food delivery system has issues, as stated by other reviews. We only came for desserts. 10min. later the wife had her pumpkin mixer. Very tasty. 6min later I had to go to the counter & ask for my mixer. When I got it....it wasn't horrible. For the price & service, we will stick with Toppers across the street. Maybe their food is better. But a look at the picture of the pork tenderloin sandwich on the menu board has provided a good amount of material to make fun of.

The staff was pleasant and the dining room clean. I'm just not a fan of any of the food. I returned a sandwich and my husband and father in law left half their meal on their plates.

I've been going to Culver's for years when I lived at the IL/WI border and very happy they opened one here in FL. Very good fast food. You might pay a dollar or two more for a meal but it's way better than your popular fast food chains. Everything I've had has been good.

One of the best hamburger deals in the Tampa area. The burgers, fries, and cheese curds are delicious. And the sweet tea is really good, southern-style, tea. The service has always been fast and friendly. The restaurant is clean and well maintained (though it's pretty new as of this review). One of my favorite lunch destinations.

This location's owner Parish is a racist and he is verbally abusive to his African American customers. He challenged me to a physical altercation and refused to offer me a refund when requested due to my order being made incorrectly. The owner Parish was on his cellphone using excessive profanity during a personal phone call just prior to threatening me physically. It was apparent that Parish is racist and has an issue servicing African Americans. I never raised my voice or used profanity towards him or his employees yet he still went into tirade. He became visually agitated and never once offered an apology for his employee's mistake. He instead suggested that I not return since I expressed my dissatisfaction with my family's meal. At no time did I exhibit any behavior that could be remotely construed as unprofessional. On the contrary, I remained composed as Parish became increasingly verbally abusive and physically threatening. Parish is obvious in need of Anger Management and should have NO contact with the public, in particular African Americans!! Parish is a blatant racist with no business whatsoever in any aspect of customer service. AFRICAN AMERICANS SHOULD AVOID THIS CULVER'S LOCATION AT ALL COSTS!! THIS LOCATION DOES NOT SERVICE AFRICAN AMERICANS!!

Being from Illinois and hearing about Culvers opening close to home here couldn't wait to try. Not so impressed with the butterburger . Month later decided to try something else ,chopped steak dinner to go. Good with 2 sides mashed potatoes ,gravy on the side. The dinner was tasty but, the mashed potatoes were missing ,disappointed I called the manager he told me I could come back or the next time I came in I could get my potatoes. So I did. I had looked at menu online and my mom wanted to try the chicken and dumpling soup, the next day I order that ,it showed it on computor to ring up, as I am waiting the employee tells me they don't have the soup, now I canceled that part of order and go to get my refund, handled properly ,but that they don't always have what they show online in all locations even if you look at that location. Bottom line don't order off website menu and always check your order from take out.

Update: I gave 'em another try. They have a "No pickle on bun" option that the cashier has to put into the system to avoid getting a pickle on your sandwich. So, that worked in my favor this time. My burger was better than my first try (see below). It needed a bit more seasoning, but since this place seems to cater to the retirement crowd, I understand that salt and pepper are dangerous spices. As before, the fries weren't salted and the sweet tea was good. I still haven't tried the custard yet. Maybe another time. So, based on the food alone, it's like a pricier version of steak n shake food. --------------------------------------------------------- After seeing this place packed regularly since it opened, the wife and I finally went for dinner. We pulled in and were immediately impressed with the reserved parking spot for veterans. The place was relatively busy, but not packed. . We took a while to gaze at the menu and did not have long wait once we were ready to order. We were happy to see brewed ice tea (sweet and unsweetened as well). I opted to try the Root Beer myself. The sweet tea and the root beer were good. Everything was looking good so far. We sat down and got our food relatively quickly. Another plus. I have a complete dislike for pickles and requested my burger with no pickles. While their were no pickles in the sandwich, there was one placed right on top of the bun. Really?!?! What part of NO PICKLE clearly printed on the order is confusing? The burger looked good, once I checked to make sure they didn't put any more nasty pickles in my meal. It was decent for fast food, but nothing better than the nearby BK or Checkers. You can tell they just slop the stuff together without any pride. All the mustard was on side and the ketchup was on the other. My wife's burger was the same way. She claimed that her's was very salty. I didn't notice that as I had more condiments to hide that than she did. She couldn't finish the burger. The french fries were nice. They were hot and pretty tasty. They needed a little salt, but that's easy enough to remedy. I was anxious to the try the Cheese Curds. We don't see too many places offering these, so I had to get some. We regret that choice. They were pretty close to room temperature upon arrival and the breading on them is SO THICK that we couldn't even taste the cheese. We wound up peeling off the breading (luckily this was an easy task due to the low food temperature) and ate the cheese within. The cheese was tasty. It's too bad it is buried in barely warm breading. These make the curds at A&W seem gourmet. *Yikes* Despite all the employees milling about, we were not approached about how our meal was. I generally don't expect that at fast food places, but Chik-Fil-A finds a way to do it. I may give them another chance and try their custard, but overall, we were unimpressed.

Burger joint with fast delivery to your table. Seats are limited and the place was busy for dinner at 6:30. Good burgers at a fair price. They have military and/or senior discounts. We will try the desserts on the next visit.

Im only giving a 4 star review for having to drive to Largo...Open one in Clearwater please! I understand Culvers is new to Florida, but i think you need a sign explaining what a "concrete" is so Floridians won't complain about not being able to suck a milkshake through a straw which i read on here and heard in the restaurant as well. I lived in Missouri for over a decade and have been to Culvers numerous times and have never had a bad meal or experience. Granted this was a new opening, the place was packed both times i went on a Saturday...but the customer service, the time it took to serve food and the meal were still excellent. Yes it's a bit pricier than other Fast Food burger joints but you are getting quality and quanity...and actual real 100% beef, unlike the pink slime scraped off of the floor and shaped into a patty that you get on your Big Macs.

I went here for lunch. It took 20 min. To get my food which is too much for a drive thru. I tried the culvers deluxe with bacon and it tasted alright but was way too greasy! I also tried the chicken noodle soup which I did like very much. They don't have everything shown on the website. Might come back and try something different but not impressed at all.

Absolutely love this place! Was so excited when I heard they were finally making their way down south from Wisconsin! The food was great but with that being said it is fat food. I recommend the cheddar butter burger with bacon and cheese curds. Their sweet tea is always great too! My husband loves their milk shakes. Will definitely be back here. Worth the drive. Yum!

Nothing special. Burger patty was very thin and bland. Bun was cold. Cheese curds were mostly batter.

I haven't dined in this place yet, but I visited twice and went thru the drive-thru. Based on food and drive-thru service only... The food comes out hot because it's made-to-order, which is the reason why you have to drive up to the drive-thru "wait" spot. As far as quality... i would recommend this place for dessert. The burger's are no match to the likes of Five-guys, In-n-out, and Shake Shack. I tried the burger melt and butter burger with cheese (one for each visit) and they didn't have much taste to it. I tried both the regular fries and sweet potato fries... and the regular fries were the better option. The sweet potato fries came out burnt. The cheesecurds are the better option of a side, but they are $1 extra. But the milkshakes and frozen custards are creamy and delicious. I recommend the marshmallow creme and butterfinger bits shake. Also, the menu variety isn't that much, but what do you expect from typical American fast food?

I moved to florida from midwest. I love culvers never had a problem with it til now. We waited 20 minutes in the drive thru while everyone else got their food. This has happened twice. Then we decide to go inside this time and same thing we didnt get our food for like 20 minutes. There was absolutely no one in there so something needs fixing.

  • Susan L.

This was my first time visiting a Culver's. For those of you unfamiliar with this privately-held, 500- restaurant chain originating in Wisconsin, this is a modified fast-food concept with a much more expansive menu. You order at the counter, get your own drinks (soda/tea) and the staff brings the food to you. We went on a Sunday in the early evening, and it was BUSY with families. Great to see people excited about a new place! I really wanted to like it. But it's going to take another visit to see whether they get their newly-opened kinks ironed out. They don't really have their systems worked out for food delivery . You are given a number to place on your table, however, based on the design and floor plan (cute but inefficient), the servers can't see all the tables from one vantage point. So they wander around, with your food getting cold, looking for the numbers. We had to direct one young server to a family outside (he never thought to look there) after he circled the inside room three times. We know they had been waiting 20+ minutes (as we watched their child take a decent nap) and then there was something amiss with their order. Issues like this slow down the entire throughput. Table turn was slow and everyone was waiting for food. The staff is very pleasant and eager to please, so still promising! The delivery issue and disorganization are problems that could easily solved by some simple technology. On to the food - definitely a better quality burger, fries, etc. than the fast food kings. But, unfortunately, the other details to justify the higher price were lacking that evening- cold, dry burger, cheese not melted, limp bacon, unripe tomato, and bun not toasted all the way. These are the things that count when you are being asked to pay more, wait for food, but not get full service. Being fair, the price was still under any true sit down place and there is no alcohol to tempt you to drive up your bill while waiting :) French fries were awesome. Cheese curds were OK. They don't have the tang or texture of the best Wisconsin curds and are more like curd-size mozzarella balls, but there is always the Dunedin Brewery for an awesome cheese curd. We did not try the desserts, which I have to say, really looked good and may be the reason to always have a burger here vs. another fast food place where they can put the fast in fast food. Let's just say, there were a ton of their signature custards and concrete mixers going down on a hot July night!! Hopefully, they get the kinks worked out , because it was very clear from the crowd that people in this area are excited about having a family choice that's a step-above McD +BK. But look out Culver's on the burger front, if In-N-Out Burger ever makes it to our area.

Fantastic. Great service. I ordered coffee with my meal and asked if it was fresh. The gal who took my order says I will make you fresh coffee and she came out to the dining room and personally served me .Love the Cod,burgers and of course the best ice cream in the state of Florida. Love the Wisconsin cheese curds Very clean. So glad Culver's is in Florida.

I came to Culvers for the frozen custard. As a native of Wisconsin, I love frozen custard. I love the combinations that they have to offer for different toppings and flavors. If you're going to come here, you will have to get the custard. The food was mediocre, but I wasn't expecting anything beyond grand. The portions are well and the flavors were good. I got the chicken strip combo with mashed potatoes and cheese curds. The mashed potatoes were okay, but the cheese curds were amazing. The service was even great, considering I ordered through the drive through. The nice young man delivered the food to my car and apologized for a wait that was only 5 minutes and cared to ask if I needed anything else. Although the food was ok, I still would go back for the custard. And I might even try some other things on the menu. They're known for the burgers too, so I will definitely give it another shot.

Snack pack all the way! Best deal! But you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Culvers will have you craving butter burgers and root beer at all times. Make sure to get there early to beat the lunch crowd!

Inexcusable experience yesterday. Waited in their drive through while four cars ahead of us placed and received their order. We had driven considerably out of our way, but did so knowing we would arrive before they close at ten. It was 9:45 when we arrived. At 9:55 we rolled up to the speaker, only to have a pre recorded message tell us they were closed. What? Their lights were still on, no one had cut off the line, we had waited for ten minutes, and there were three cars behind us. How dare they be so rude? More to the point, how does a manager allow this to happen? I'm convinced this is part of a bigger problem.. We were disturbed enough to leave a comment on their website this morning. Obviously they only address these issues on Mon-Fri during their normal business hours. I shouldn't have to be the one to tell them, they operate seven days a week and someone should be looking after the corporate interests on the weekends too, You are supposed to be a chain, you franchise stores, pick up your game. This isn't a criticism of their food, nor the polite young staff if it wasn't for those redeeming factors, they would receive NO stars. This is an indictment of their management. Truly lacking.

Butterburgers, cheese curds and custard--the three most important Wisconsin food groups come to Tampa Bay! As former Illinois Flatlanders who vacationed in Wisconsin, my husband and I had a lot of experience eating Butterburgers and decided to really put this place to the test with a couple of the Signature Midwest Dinners---Big Mistake! While the Chicken on the Chicken Dinner was tasty, the green beans were "make your ears ring" over salted (and what's with the bijillions of little onion bits?) and the potatoes were dry with just a smidgeen of gravy. And, what was I thinking ordering a Cod Dinner. For Golly's Sake, I live in Florida the home of "seafood shacks on every corner"! An overpriced dish of fried fish logs is what I was served. Won't make that mistake again. Of course, we saw the fabulous Butterburgers that were being carried out of the kitchen to happy customers....Next time. Of course, the star is the Custard! Whoo-hoo! Who wants ice cream when you can have smooth delish custard. I'm a flavor of the day gal! So of course, I picked up the monthly FOD flyer for future planning.
