Friendly staff, comfortable ambience. Best fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs, you will find in Lakeland.

There are two things you should not need when eating proper beef brisket, a steak knife and BBQ sauce. I definitely needed sauce and all I had was a butter knife. The sides weren't spectacular either but the people were nice and the place was clean. I might come back and try something else but probably not.

Day two of "find some BBQ in Polk County" took us to the Rib Crib. After our Sonny's fiasco from the previous day, we decided to get smart and try to find local Yelp reviews to guide us. We quickly discovered that there is a local who has been reviewing BBQ joints. His reviews are thoughtful and well-written. We elected him our internet guide and opted for the Rib Crib. It was pretty clear upon entry that this is also a chain establishment. Though, this should not have surprised us. It's in a clean, new, stand-alone building on S. Florida Avenue. Duh. Turns out this is a Midwestern chain, with just one location in Florida, and Lakeland is it, baby! We ordered the lunch two-meat combos. I got the ribs and brisket, and The Bud got the ribs and pulled pork. And, since I can't go into a BBQ joint without ordering wings, we opted for the honey BBQ wings. Everything was delicious. The wings were crispy, and the honey BBQ sauce was just right. The ribs came out with a beautiful smoke ring lining the meat. It was flavorful, and it pulled off the bone with just a tiny bit of coaxing. The meat was not falling off the bone, nor should it be. It pulled away gently. Excellent texture and taste. I enjoyed the pulled pork quite a bit, especially after adding some of their Carolina Mustard Sauce. The tangy sauce was a great compliment to the sweet pork. I would say the brisket was a little tougher than I like, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it too tough. It sliced up easily with a butter knife, and it was just fine with any of their sauce options. Though, I would skip it in the future to make room for that juicy pulled pork. All in all, a clean, fine BBQ establishment. I wouldn't pass them up. If you're feeling particularly hungry, according to their table propaganda, they have All You Can Eat ribs and sides each Tuesday from 4 to close. Those are some yummy smoked ribs worth devouring.

Service was terrible. we were quickly seated and they wanted our order quickly also. It probably took at least 20 minutes for the food to arrive, then another 20 minutes for the waitress to bring the check, then another 20 minutes from her to get the payment, then another 10 minutes to bring back the change. The waitress never check on my party, and never brought drink refiles. This was lunch time service also, it took an hour and half to get lunch and leave.

The food was way better than The Rib House which is on the same road and at least equal to the dinner I had at Sonny's BBQ. It was my first time here so I had to make sure I ordered the standard PB and C. PB&C is how I refer to Pulled Pork, Baked Beans and Cole Slaw. This is what I get the first time I go to a BBQ place. The pulled pork was average, the beans were average and the cole slaw was a little above average. Over all I would say I would eat there again because the family liked it but if itwas just me I would drive further for better BBQ.

This was no more than a typical chain BBQ restaurant. Sad that it was a weekend afternoon and no one was at the front of house to seat us. We were the only ones in there. After a while a server saw us and asked what she could do for us. Well....we're here to eat! I ordered the Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich w/okra in lieu of fries. In the time it took her to walk to the kitchen and back, our food was served. It wasn't even slightly warm The pork was dry and difficult to get down. The only other time we saw our server was when we had to flag her down to get our check. At $9 it was an average price for a sammie and fries. But it was no where worth it.

OK We tried the bbq rib place again after corporate sent us a voucher for another dinner. so I ordered the all u can eat St. Louis ribs and they were better than last time. they weren't dry this time. The sauces on the table are good. The hot bbq sauce is excellent. I had bbq beans and mac and cheese and they were up to par. Good flavor overall. The service was Better than last time. I give it a three stars because I think the ribs could have more meat on them. Overall it was an ok visit.

I Love this place! My family eats here often and the service has always been fantastic. I always go there thinking, "I'm going to eat something different this time" but I usually end up ordering the Pitmasters Choice, which is basically a sampler of different meats. It is awesome. Ribs are the best I have had in Lakeland so far, and the pulled pork seems to melt in your mouth. The brisket is unbelievable, and with the side choices they offer, it should please almost everyone. My kid even loves this place. Get one of their loyalty cards and each time you go, you will get an additional 5% off your meal, all the way up to 30% off. I highly recommend this place.

Our waitress was sweet and attentive and I have no problems with the service. The ribs (according to my son) are delicious. Those two things are the only reason I would give Rib Crib two stars, because all our other food was bad. My husband and I were not in the mood for ribs, so he had the fried catfish and I had the 'Philly'-like sandwich. My sandwich was swimming in grease and barely edible. The onion rings I got on the side were almost as tasteless as the frozen ones with the little bits of artificial onions that you can buy in the store (even though they were actually full slices of onion). The worst part is that my husband's fish was so bad and 'muddy' tasting that he couldn't eat it at all...I guess if I have one complaint about the waitress its that we told her it was inedible, but it still appeared on our bill...I've never had a restaurant not take an item off my bill if I let them know that the food was bad, so I was shocked to see it when the bill came (we paid for it, rather than cause a scene though, so that's probably just as much our fault). And before anyone tells me that catfish sometimes tastes like that, we grew up by the Great Lakes and know full well what cleaned catfish should taste like. All in all I won't be going back and my advice would be, unless your going for the ribs, don't bother....

I thought the food was great. Better than the bbq restaurants we currently have in winter haven or auburndale or lakeland.

The Rib Crib is a cleaner, brighter establishment for barbecued goods, compared to many of the dustier, shackier options around town. I place their smoking flavor above all others in Polk County. I especially like their pulled pork and I love their fab sweet and spicy sauces. (They have a tangy North Carolina mustard that is too tart & mustardy for me.) I like not having more choices of sauces. I have taken a half pound of brisket home to serve for Sunday dinner on more than one occasion. Their sausage is a nice occasional change. I do think ribs are better at Rib House or Outback. I do not like when they change their recipes, like putting cole slaw on the pulled pork sandwich, experimenting with their bean recipe or discontinuing their brisket salad. Love their spicy dressing on the brisket salad--I add more hot sauce to the ranch-based dressing for a fiery, tasty flavor. This is also a great establishment for beer-by-the-pitcher with your friends. I've never made it to dessert but would love to try the blackberry cobbler or the raspberry dippers some day. This is my #1 BBQ joint. It's worth your checking it out!

Rib Crib is a decent BBQ joint in a town of decent BBQ joints. Have yet to find one to rave about. However, as decent L-town BBQ goes, they're in the upper-half. Ribs are good, beans are much improved over their initial offering years ago. Hot links are great, but not for the faint of tongue. Fried okra is a must-have.

As I continue on my venture to find a really good rib joint the Rib Crib was next on my list of places to try. We went on a Thursday night. The parking lot only had about 7 cars in it - which goes against my theory of, "When the food is good, the line is long." Upon entering the establishment we were greeted and taken to a table. The menu consisted of rib combo platters, sandwhiches, burgers, etc. The side item choices were things like baked beans, fries, potato salad, corn, etc. On this trip I chose the rib and smoked sausage dinner. It came with baked beans and potato salad. I found the ribs to be just ok. They weren't my favorite ribs ever, but better than some other places that I've been. The smoked sausage was good, but I thought that the meal overall was just not hot enough (temp wise). I wanted to stick everything back in the microwave for another 2 minutes. I might go back to try their lunch menu, but I probably will not make another trip to the rib crib anytime soon.

Went to the Rib Crib, I have not been there in awhile. I am trying to go different places to give companies business. The ribs were tough, and things have changed for the worst. I won't be returning. I and my dinner guest order ribs, that night happened to be all you can eat night. We got a free appetizer of potato skins, " which were good"and before anything was said, the waitress comes out and says" you cannot take anything with you". O.K. I would assume not anyway. I drank water with my food, to get somewhat of my daily intake. My husband and I get lime instead of lemon when available. My husband is Cuban and lime is always preferred. The waitress brings us out 4 slices of lime, little slices, with our water, I ask for a couple more. She returns to say," the owner saw me cutting the lime and said I need to charge you 50 cents for it. The 50 cents is not at problem, I was concerned about the quality of food I was getting, because of that kind of charge. Sonny's is way better and I will give them my business from now on.
