Lovely ambience, like sitting in a friend's back yard. The server James was pleasant but he was spread thin with many tables. The food runners gave our bacon popcorn to another table and never served us our olive appetizer. The bacon popcorn was ok certainly not worthy of the praise I read about here on Yelp. Entree of braised ribs were tasty but overpriced. The salad was also pricy, choice of duck on it was not available, the other option of chicken was strangely like warm sliced turkey breast. Not like chicken that was sliced off the bone which I would expect with a salad. Even though this is a lukewarm review, I liked the place and would probably return if I'm in Lakeland again.

Ridiculously slow service. You need patience to eat here. Ambience is nice and the wine is good. Ordered water twice and never got it. We sat at the bar and with an actual two other people and we were ignored for at least ten minutes. It was very disappointing as it looked so promising.

Patio 850 is a nice place to relax, have a drink and a grab a bite to eat. They serve a nice selection of wine and craft beers and have an intriguing food menu. I tried the Escargot and the Braised Short Ribs. The escargot was flavorful, tender, and moist and the ribs were tender and covered in a succulent and lightly sweet barbecue sauce. Overall this is great place to visit.

This place is so pretty at night with the canopies & wrap-around tree lighting! The staff was friendly, welcoming & the waitress gave recommendations. You HAVE to try the bacon popcorn! (It may sound odd, & I don't even like bacon that much..) but this was a game changer! It's nothing like you'd expect & the flatbread pizzas are even better. You probably need 2 people to finish them. All of our friends come here & have never heard a complaint. Side note: even though it's outside, there are large fans that are kept on throughout the evening since the humidity can be unbearable some nights.

I was a little apprehensive about this place, as I read that it was operated by the same people who own the Red Door. And, I have not yet had a good meal there, despite trying it multiple times. However, I really enjoyed my experience at Patio850. We went on an unusually pleasant June evening and sat outside. There was a cover band (keyboardist and a hilariously serious maraca shaker... need more cowbell!! Sorry, I digress). Outdoor patio decor was really lovely - umbrellas and string lights - and worth another visit on it's own merit. Menu was small, and I can't speak to anything else on it. But, the waitress gushed about the mahi, and her enthusiasm convinced both me and my friend to order it. And truly, it was good. Ridiculously fresh, perfectly seasoned, atop a bed of mashed potatoes and spinach. We both ate slowly. Mmm. Had a good quality, sweet riesling to go along with it, and it was beautiful. I now want to go back and do it all over again. And, I just ate dinner. Not sure if that's the only good thing on the menu, but if it is, it's worth going and getting this every single time.

I've never been to Lakeland before, and my colleague's friend suggested we go to Patio850. The garden atmosphere is perfect. The server, Jackelin, strongly encouraged us to try their infamous Bacon Popcorn. As one of my dinner companions said, it was like eating loaded baked potosi- the popcorn had chives, cheese, and bacon. Very addicting. I ordered the Shrimp with corn cakes. It was different from any shrimp dish I've ever had- served with maple sauce. It was very good. The others ordered the dish special and loved it. I also enjoyed the Pear Me Knot martini.

A shining star of food and beverage dimmed by poor service. We were invited to this place by some friends of ours, so we entered this experience with no prior assumptions about anything in this restaurant. The first impression of this place is unbelievable warm and welcoming. We came on a Saturday night after dusk, so the outdoor ambiance was terrifically romantic and definitely enhanced by the rope lights on the trees. It is also almost in the middle of a neighborhood making you feel as if you were eating on someones back porch! Our friends had been seated before us, so we did not have to wait for a table, meaning we cannot speak to that part of the experience. We sat with our friends, and it was not too long before our waitress came to see us. She was knowledgeable about the beer menu and was able to provide guidance based on our questions, and helped us pick a GREAT beer. When she came back with our drinks ,we were able to place our order. We did not see her much after that. The waters we ordered were refilled maybe once, which was no fun because we had spent the entire day in the sun! Either way, our food came, and we did not have to wait longer than necessary for it! Allow me to say this though, we would have waited thirty more minutes for that pizza, because it was out of this world. It is the best pizza we have ever eaten! So flavorful, so cheesy, and the crust was incredible! It was the Stone Perfect, and that title is NOT deceiving! Our friends ordered some munchable items and a tray of dips, the most delightful one being the smoked salmon dip! However, several times we had to grab anyone who would listen to get more beverage, or even to get the checks! It was a noticeably poor experience regarding the service. Possibly some of the worst service we've ever received. Regardless, everyone should know about this place! Go eat here, and expect to not be tended to very often, but expect to eat wonderfully!

Such a unique place in Polk county! They have such an amazing selection of wines and beers and their food is absolutely delicious! Gourmet pizzas, flatbreads, sandwiches, cheese boards and chef specials like the braised beef short ribs (my husbands favorite), candied bacon popcorn and shrimp and grits ( my favorite)!! The menu is definitely unique and everything is so good not only that, they even have live music outside on the patio most nights!! Go check out patio850 you will not be disappointed!

The food is good if you have half a lifetime to wait. We arrived around 8:15 on a Friday night It took 25 minutes for a server to actually come to our table. This was after we went to the hostess stand to ask when we might get served. It is now 9:30 and we still have not received our entrees. We were thinking about recommending that our brother host his son's graduation party here, but we can't in good faith recommend this restaurant due to the poor service. What a shame as this place does have a lot of potential.

I lived in Lakeland for a year and a half prior to moving back to Tampa. This little gem was found right before I left and I definitely make the trip back when able! The food is absolutely delicious! Truffle bacon popcorn, goat cheese with pita, veggie pizza...all well executed dishes. I like the freshness of the ingredients which you don't get in the Lakeland area. Reason for 3 stars? The service is horrific. It is so bad, I can't even express how horrible it is. You obviously don't go to Patio850 to eat and leave, but you also don't need to be there for 4 hours. They usually have live music which is nice as it entertains you while waiting for your meal. Order your drink and appetizer at first sight of your waiter....then you will only wait about 30 minutes to get those. Savor every bite of that appetizer because the entree will take around 45 min to come out. Order another drink once your meal is over because waiting for the check is brutal. As long as you are prepared to wait, and have no plans after dinner, this is a great restaurant with quality food.

Stopped by on the way home, last night, Thursday, September 4, 2014. Ordered a Veggie Pizza and a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout. Service was excellent, forgot the server's name, and so was the pizza. All veggies were fresh and tomatoes were extra thick. Hint of garlic on the crust made it even better. Patio 850 makes food for sharing, this pizza, all hand-made would feed at least two people. You have to try their bacon popcorn if in a group.

Discovered this place while visiting my daughter in college. Charming place with wonderful food, great wines!!! We visited early on Saturday. Would like to try it again, more into the night as they get busier.

Love this place on a warm spring evening! Sitting outside, listening to music with a nice glass of wine and, gasp! BACON POPCORN! It's gorgeous and Southern, the food's great, the wine and beer list is fantastic. The service is awful. Whoever is training the staff should be fired-they're lethargic at best. They disappear for long periods of time, even when they only have one table (last week, 4 staff members, 3 tables, and it still took 20 minutes to get our drinks). This could be the hidden gem of Lakeland, but apparently management feels this sort of work ethic is acceptable. Too bad.

Chef Patrick and his wife, Lisa, go out of their way to make sure their customers are satisfied with their meal, that they are entertained and that they are comfortable. My husband and I make it to Patio 850 about once a month. Tonight we shared crab cakes served over potato pancakes and a veal chop served with roasted red potatoes. Both entrees included spinach. The veal was very tender and juicy and the crab cakes were the perfect size and spiced to perfection. The wine list is small, but I like that it does not overwhelm me with too many choices. There is always live music on the weekends. As the name implies, the main seating area is outside on a patio. In the cooler months we have enjoyed warmth from outdoor heaters. As the weather became warmer, large fans with misters were placed around the patio to keep diners comfortable. Tonight, as we left our home, it began to rain. Thinking we would have to eat indoors, we were pleasantly surprised to see a large party tent over the patio. Patio 850 is one of our favorite restaurants and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal at a fun, hip restaurant.

Eeeeek. Now my fourth time here and for the third out of four times the good-great food was plagued by TERRIBLE service! Our server was on his game when we first arrived, but after grabbing our bottle of wine, he disappeared for 45 minutes without asking us if we wanted a food menu or anything else. After flagging him down several times, we had decent food, but for the third time, my experience was mauled by the poor service. I'm over it.

This place is the best place in Lakeland for a relaxed fine dinning expire nice! Period!

Food was good but service could have been better. My biggest issue with them is they allow smoking on the patio which is their largest seating area. The last thing a non\former smoker wants is someone smoking at the next table while you're trying to enjoy dinner. The place is a little dark at night. A candle or something on the tables would help.

Wonderful place to relax and enjoy a beer or glass if wine on the patio. Great wine and beer selection, and the flatbreads and pizzas are inventive and fantastic. Be sure to order the bacon popcorn -- it's phenomenal and totally addictive! Live this place!

We had a very nice experience and the food and service were very good. Patio had pleasant ambiance too. My friends shared the pear pizza and I had the short ribs. Yum. We will go back soon.

I tried this place once for lunch and wasn't overly impressed. I arrived as soon as lunch started and we were the only people there. Service was a little slow but we had time to make our selections. One of the specials was a short rib sandwich so I tried it out. The bread it was served on was like a toasted loaf and although it was delicious, it was really thick and tough to eat. The short rib was cut into chunks and somewhat dry. It was topped with roasted grape tomatoes and onions which were also delicious. If memory serves me correctly, there was also a really yummy cheese. Goat or something similar in texture and crumbled. The flavors overall were excellent and the presentation was beautiful but I found the sandwich difficult to eat. It seemed like it should be an opened face but you couldn't cut it and the toppings were too thick to try to eat all of the components together. This place has great wine specials and I hear the bacon popcorn is amazing. I'll probably go back one day but I'll stay away from the sandwiches.
