Great sushi spot for South Lakeland! Love the quality & quantity of the dishes. Nice date spot since it's not too big you won't get drowned out with crowd noise.

Today was truly a "what the hell?" moment. We had been going to Gosh for some time now. It has had its ups and downs in the past. For the past year we had been pleasantly surprised at the big improvement they made in their menu and service. Today was not that day. Last month we decided that we would try their Screaming G! roll. Which the menu says is wrapped in salmon and baked. We got it raw and, sure enough, it was wrapped in salmon. It was great. Forward to today. No salmon. When questioned, it seemed the whole restaurant was coached to say it never had any and that the menu was wrong. This menu has not changed in four years. What it also didn't have was the avocado and a couple of other ingredients that were conveniently missing. The rolls themselves were a third size smaller. With quite a bit less fish. Even the pictures that are posted here on yelp support our claims of what it SHOULD look like. It's just bad form and great way to lose a customer.

First off I don't have a problem paying my bill or tipping my server, but we had the worst possible server ever arrogant and snotty words couldn't describe how pissed off I was when we left. To begin our order was wrong when it came to the table had to send it back got the new order and the vegetables were still raw and uncooked no apologies from her no discounts were given or even offered. She never removed any of the used plates from our table when our entrees arrived. Then the bill came it was $45 and I gave her $60 and said I needed change guess what I had to do after waiting for ten minutes for my change I had to literally get up from the table and walk over to her and ask for my change back. I have came here many times and got to go's but this is my first and last time dining inside this restaurant.

Love this place! Sushi is always fresh, service is always friendly. They also offer a variety of great menu items for people who haven't hopped on the sushi boat yet! I always make sure to order won-ton soup and the Godzilla roll...my favorites!

Came here tonight after we tried to go to Spice and they were closed (in anticipation of their relocation). When we arrived we were seated promptly. I get what other posters are saying about the service from staff. Our waitress was great, but a few of the others were just having loud conversations and just seemed a bit attitudinal with each other. Eh, whatever. I had the Volcano roll and it was pretty good, although the "Seafood Delite" they placed on top was super salty and just tasted fake (which it was - all artificial crabmeat). Soy sauce at the table tasted off to me. Hubby had spicy chicken and said it was "meh". It wasn't terrible enough to demand a refund, but we won't be returning.

This place is utterly pathetic. The food was less than mediocre, and the wait staff was pretty standoffish. The miso was ice cold, and all the sushi we ordered was pretty terrible. My roommate ordered the tempura ice cream and it turned out just as I expected, the tempura was soggy as all hell and the ice cream standard crap. All in all a total waste of money from start to finish.

This place is awesome, Sandy was great. This is my third time here. Every roll was great especially the Tempura Japanese Bagel roll. The Mexican roll was good as well and the Red Dragon and the Screaming G!

The rating that I'd really like to give this place is 2 1/2 stars. But since I am forced to choose, 2 it is. I came here with a friend the other day and, although it wasn't a terrible experience, it could have been far better. I ordered a jasmine tea to start off, mostly because it was SO COLD in the restaurant that I couldn't imagine ordering a beer or soda, which is what I'd planned on originally. I thought the layout was a little awkward. We were seated looking straight at the bar, and despite our close proximity to the server station, it was almost impossible to catch anyone's eye to ask for more water. I ordered the seaweed salad, which was very good and heaping, though it was very pricey and I would have much rather gotten half the amount for a couple dollars less. I got the Pink Lady and the Florida rolls, and I was so excited when they came out, because the Pink Lady looked exquisite. However, once I actually tried it, I almost gagged eating it. I actually took several more bites, because I was trying to figure out what was so bad about it. Texturally something was off--hard and rubbery. The Florida roll was great. My friend got the sashimi dinner, which came with...krabsticks??? I have no idea what would possess a restaurant to put imitation crab fingers in a sashimi platter, but there it is. She wasn't very impressed and it was a rather small dinner for $24. Also: I had to use my friend's wasabi because neither of my rolls came with it. Again, I tried to catch one of the waitresses' eyes but failed and eventually gave up. We both ordered green tea ice cream and that was good. But overall the bad sushi tainted the good parts of the meal. And for $40 I really think it's OK to expect more.

Best sushi in Lakeland. Neptune roll is our favorite. There's not really anything I'd not recommend. Also has many items other than sushi if some of your party aren't into it.

We finally ate here after talking about it forever. Arrived around 6pm and were seated right away. The place is nice and clean looking inside., My husband ordered the beef egg rolls for an app which he said were good, but the sauce that came with it had a hair in it (gross!). For dinner I had the bourbon chicken and my dude had the sushi appetizer (as his meal). My chicken was good but seemed overcooked, it was really hard on the outside and not much better on the inside and the white rice that came with it was so hard that I didn't eat it. The sushi appetizer was really warm and so/so tasting. My husband said he's definitely had better sushi elsewhere. Friends that dined with us had a godzilla roll and something else. Their godzilla roll was massive and looked good. Service was so/so. I found it funny that there are no Asian people that work here, not any that we saw anyway. There are other sushi restaurants around and we'll probably try one of those next time. I doubt we come back here, there wasn't anything that blew us away.

We ordered the sushi & sashimi combo and it wasn't worth it at all. I don't know about the other food but everything else that was ordered at our table by our friends looked OK at best.

Honestly there are many better sushi restaurants in Lakeland. Gosh is okay to me personally. Their boba pearls are really mushy and gross. The soups are okay but not the best in my opinion and I've heard stories about bad management. I'd rather go to Spice!

Why do people like this place? The sushi was fishy, cheap and did not taste fresh, I tried it because someone told me it was better than Shingetsu and there is no way this place is on the same level as Shingetsu.

Tried a new place tonight. Had great reviews on Yelp so here we are. Well we were not disappointed! Volcano, Key West, TNT Mussels, Godzilla, Gator, and Orlampa rolls were all wonderful. Atmosphere was clean and relaxed. Surprisingly the staff are all under 30 with no Japanese sushi master behind the sushi bar. Was a little concerned at first...but fear not, the food was terrific, service was prompt and friendly, and the place was packed. Great job Gosh! Asian Bistro!

Best sushi in Lakeland. I recommend their caterpillar roll or there fried tempura roll with cream cheese. It's amazing! I've also recently had the dim sum appetizer and it's out of this world!!

Love this place! The sushi is the perfect size. Not too big and not soo small. The restaurant is just large enough to accommodate a good sized crowd without waiting a lifetime for your beautifully presented rolls and the Pho soup is killer! I highly recommend it. I've had many rolls at many different places in Lakeland. In my opinion, this place tops them all.

I really enjoy the food at Gosh. I rarely order appetizers because they are bistro sized. The tempura vegetables is two pieces each of sweet potato, zucchini and broccoli. Its one of my favorites actually because I feel like you get what you paid for. I've had the spring rolls too and its hit and miss whether they'll be burned and you only get two. The good thing about the size is you can enjoy an appetizer and still finish your meal. We typically go with a large house salad and a roll or a bowl of miso soup and a small house salad (you get about a cup of each). If you like ginger dressed salads a lot, get the large. Its a nice size for the price. I have many favorite rolls. Mostly anything with spicy mayo, tuna or eel. Their cooked rolls like the crispy crunchy are tasty too. They have a great kids menu as well. It features the usual kids fare plus smaller portions of some of their dinners. My daughter got the noodle medley last time and it was like a nice vegetable lo mein with chicken. She loved it and my husband wanted to steal it. I've eaten at Gosh many times and the food seems to consistently be the same. We enjoy dropping in at lunch when they're slower. You'll have to wait for dinner. Or you can order online and pick it up. Just order 45 minutes before you want it because that's the wait time for online.

Sushi is wonderful. New menu additions are welcome for non sushi lovers. My only disappointment with gosh over the years has been the appetizers. Small and overpriced without exception. Skip the apps and get an extra roll

After having authentic pho at my friend's house, she recommended this place so I could eat it whenever I wanted. It is amazing and almost as good as the homecooked version! I have tried a few other menu options, but I go here mainly for the pho. It is great to get something that authentic and well-crafted right here in Polk county, without having to travel to Orlando.

Above average eatery with good, not great, food. The sushi was OK, but the presentation was nothing special. The facility is clean, but the atmosphere is not personal. It is bright and the space is open, so it feels more like a cafeteria than a date-night type of place. Small details are lacking; for instance, the table napkins are disposable, not cloth. The service was well above average; our food was served in a timely manner, and our drinks were replaced before they were half-empty. The prices are acceptable: we ate 3 rolls, an appetizer, and soft drinks for $30. In summary, it seems like a great place for lunch but not ideal for a nice evening.

Went here for lunch with my family, had sushi standards (tuna, salmon, eel, snapper--which was actually tilapia, most likely) and California rolls. Fish was not fresh, and I saw one of the sushi chefs coughing into her sleeve. The sushi and sashimi were cut too long and thick--as if the previous sentence weren't appetizing enough--way too much fish to fit in your mouth. I gave my father my steak knife to cut his maguro. (Why did I have a steak knife? Because this place serves Vietnamese bun and pho in addition to sushi--make up your own mind about whether that makes sense--and I wanted to know whether their Vietnamese food was at least decent. It wasn't.) The snapper/tilapia was poorly cut, with stringy tendons left in the middle, making it impossible to do anything but chew the whole thing at once. At length. Fake crabmeat in abundance, even presented as nigiri sushi in the sushi dinner! The California rolls were sloppy, rice was dry. If other people can find sushi here that they like, more power to them. But if you're looking for authentic sushi go elsewhere. If you're looking for bun, you should also go elsewhere.
