Food was ok but maybe that was because we arrived late. They have a limited menu on the wall & limited selection at the counter. You seat yourself because the place is very small & needs some work. Just wish their selection was bigger.

My family and I had an amazing time here. The food was amazing and the prices are great as well. I had a mofo con chicharon de pollo and my wife had Moro de gandules with pollo Al holno and we loved our meal.

Outstanding food, homemade!! Friendly atmosphere! When you first walk in, is a cafeterÃa atmosphere but it is worth it!! The shrimp mofongo all ajillo (garlic) was amazing... I would come back again when I'm in town!

I passed this place on the way to work...on the way home I didn't feel like cooking so I stopped in. It is very small and sort of hole in the wallish but super clean including the restrooms. The food is cooked already and on a steam table you can get a regular for 4.99 ( choice of meat and white or yellow rice) or a large (two meats,choice of white or yellow rice,beans or tostones) They had stewed chicken,beef stew, chicken gizzards,saltfish or roast pork to select from when I went. He had beef stew and stewed chicken, yellow rice and beans. He said it was pretty good. I had the shrimp mofongo (11.99) which was awesome! I had it with the garlic cream sauce it was full of red and green peppers and onions, it was soooo tasty. I gave my husband a bite and he said that he wished that he had gotten that as well(high praise from him LOL) This is definitely a place that I will visit again. If I don't have time to sit in I would order to go...its just that good. Also the service was great, the servers were fast, friendly and helpful. They don't have fountain sodas, drinks are in a cooler they have Coke products in 20oz bottles an 12oz cans. Great place all the same:-)

Found this dive on Yelp and LOVED it! We had no idea what to get, so the woman working the front walked us through everything prepared and then explained the Mofongoes. I will never order anything different when going to a Puerto Rican restaurant. We got two, one chicken and one shrimp with the tomato sauce. It was DELICIOUS! It's a simple, casual, clean little dive...try it!

Found another piece of gold. Best Cuban in Lakeland. Simple menu, order at the counter , Caribbean meat and three. The service was friendly. They bring your food to the table after you order, I had the Cuban with black beans. It was pressed perfectly infusing the cheese and meat. A coworker had the roast pork, beans and rice. The portions were huge.

Don't judge this hidden gem from its outer appearance! Authentic Puerto Rican/ Dominican flavor. I ordered arroz con gandules ( rice and chick peas) and Pernil ( pork). It was so delicious and the portions were huge. Red beans on the side were great too. My husband had pernil and white rice and beans, also very good. The inside of the restaurant is small but clean and the staff was very pleasant. They had a nice selection including mofongo which we didn't try this time, but plan to go back for! Overall very good. 18 bucks for both of our dinners.

I am giving this such a good rating because the food portions were enormous and the staff was very friendly. My husband and I stopped for a very late lunch around 4pm and the restaurant was busy. Good sign! The yellow rice and beans were tasty. The chicken was moist and delish. The table next to us had mofongo and I am calculating when I will be driving I-4 again through Lakeland so I can have some. Note- it is closed on Sunday!

Great mom & pop shop... Authentic flavors! Mofongo is made to order (worth the wait). Everything is flavorful & feels like a nice home cooked meal.... Especially the serving sizes!! Staff are friendly, clean and definitely make you feel at home. Must try this hidden gem.

The Mondongo is great! The shrimp Mofongo is awesome. Portions are very generous. If you want Mofongo you may want to call head of time since it may take up some time before is served.

Very authentic small restaurant. Big lines for lunch , very popular and good sized portions. I have the ox tails today and it was among the best I have tried. This place is have on protein dishes, do have beam and fish also, but a bid light on the vegetables sides. Awesome food and we want to come back to try more..... Come hungry!

Excellent food, very generous portions, and great prices. We placed to go orders and they did not disappoint on the portions! Very tasty! Had the roasted pork shoulder, rice and peas, and a side of beans. My wife had the same, but some goat also. Everything was delicious!

Was looking for a place with Puertorican/Dominican food and I have found it. The place is nice and clean. A lil small but I don't plan in eating in often, but mostly take out. The portions are huge, enough for lunch and keep half for dinner. I had the Pernil (roasted pork) with rice and beans and tostones on the side. It was all great. Will be back often.

Little restaurant with big flavors. This place is no frills, just really good Puerto Rican food. Very reasonably priced. The costillas and mofongo are very tasty (mofongo is made to order). The amount of food they serve is plentiful. This really is a hidden gem in Lakeland.
