As an Italian, the food was excellent for all in our party. Excellent sauce (rare to find for an Italian!), the pesto gnocchi was fabulous! My kids even said the sauce was better than mine! :-(. Family run & family recipes. Highly recommended!

We found this place via Yelp. Very happy. Service was fast and friendly. Food very good. Liked the marinara sauce on my Eggplant Parm. Was a little surprised that it didn't come with garlic bread. My friends had the Calzones and said they were good. Atmosphere is so-so but clean enough. I'd go back.

Ciao Bella had excellent food and great service. We started with the garlic knots that came out fresh, warm, and delicious. Then we had the calamari. They were also fresh, lightly breaded with a side of sauce. We ended with a Hawaiian pizza. The sauce and cheese were very authentic. Great flavor but light. The dough was excellent; nice and crispy. The staff was speaking Italian and Italian music played in the background. If you live Italian, you have to stop here.

Not super special but decent NY style and better than chain pizza for sure. Sicilian deep dish as well. Thin crust was tasty and loaded with toppings. I asked for extra crispy and they nailed it. Good location close to I-4. Good service. Good food.

This is a really great place and one of my personal favorite usual hang out spots. Great food the service is consistent and the food is as well! I personally am not a big fan of the pizza but I am a pizza snob and very bias with my favorite pizza joint which is in Idaho. The Pasta however is very good! Most Italian places I've been to have one or 2 items on the menu that are good and the others are mind meh. But this place I must say is solid have tried a lot of the food and it is all good. It's consistent and we'll served with its complementing spices and herbs. I'd recommend this place anytime! Price is good nothing outrageous and you definitely get a good portion with your money. The service is a little slow but you can't really complain when the food is hot and good! All in all its Italian it's good and it's a must try! #ambition

We have only had the pizza, but always very good. It's a family run restaurant and Mama is generally keeping an eye on things and taking the money.

Kid you not this is the best Italian restaurant I've eaten at, 100% Italian owned, two waitresses were very nice and tentative. Started off with a whitebean soup and wow it was hearty, creamy with a subtle taste recommend this as a substitute for salads, the garlic knots are a must ORDER! Don't hesitate in shopping by to eat!

Good Italian Food. We chose to come here based on the reviews here. They did not lead us wrong. This gem is located in a strip mall by Publix, and is a great restaurant. The portions are generous, and there is no fee for sharing. The service is excellent. I knew I was in for a treat when I heard the waitress speaking with the kitchen staff in Italian. The beer and wine selection is small, but you should be able to find something suitable to your meal. If I am ever in the area again, I will come here again.

Great stop for a good Italian meal at an excellent value. The waitstaff were very attentive and it felt like a European family owned business.

We ate here on a Friday night because we wanted to try a non-chain, locally owned place. We both got the specials of the night which should be their best dishes. The pasta was out of the box and the sauce tasted like a jar of no name brand from the Publix next door. The chicken in mine was overcooked. My husband's seafood dish was a little better but not much. He said the shrimp tasted like frozen shrimp and the scallops were still gritty.

Eh.. it was ok. For the price I didn't think the quality was all there. Tried their basic 10" cheese pizza. Seemed pretty cold. Sauce was a little too tart for my liking. Service was efficient. Probably wouldn't go there again.

Best Italian food in town by far! This place would stack up to and beat many fine dining places in a big city. Big city quality. Locally family owned and operated. The mother even makes the homemade deserts! Don't miss it!

Good pizza is the only thing that's good about this place don't go menu surfing or you will be disappointed also the management gets very upset if you voice your opinion about their food so on tht note I will not be coming back here

In town on biz and felt like italian. I had the Chicken Parm. and it was good. It was well-executed, and filling, but not particularly memorable. The included side salad and bread were similarly tasty but not exceptional. The co-worker I went with felt similarly about his shrimp pasta dish. Still, the prices were very reasonable for what you get and the wait staff was friendly. (she forgot to ask a couple of questions when taking our order and so had to come back. She was VERY nice about it however, and mentioned it had been a long day.) Overall, I enjoyed this cute little hole in we wall and would eat here again the next time I want Italian. I might try a pizza next time.

Came to Lakeland for work and wanted something good to eat close to my hotel. Found this place by accident and was pleasantly surprised. Don't go for the decor as it is pretty non-descript and small. But if you like NY style thin crust pizza, this place rocks!! I had a 10" meat lovers pizza and it was delicious. It is right next to a Publix grocery store, which was nice to shop while I killed the 15 mins. for my wait. Good pizza, nice people - give it a try!

We are so lucky to have such a great pizza joint so close to the house. Tonight for dinner we decided to keep it quick and easy. Take out! We ordered pizza just before they closed. And headed up to get it. The credit card machine was down we offered to head back to the house and get cash but he insisted that our pizza would be cold if we came back minitues later and to take it and bring the money tomorrow. So on top of great customer service! Our pizzas were awesome. Their spinach calzone with mushrooms, onions, and peppers added to it was just amazing! and everyone in our house is always super happy with their pepperoni pizza as well!

Ciao Bella is a great Italian restaurant currently located on the north side of Lakeland and there is another one opening up in the Lake Miriam Plaza on the southside of town as well in April 2009. Owned and operated by two Italians, one from Florence and one from Naples, so you are getting the authentic Italian experience! The pizza dough and bread are delicious and crunchy, as both are handmade daily. The menu provides tons of options that are a step up from your typical casual dining Italian restaurant and many notches up from any chain restaurant. If you are in the mood for a hearty meal, try the penne and chicken alla vodka and if you are in the mood for something light, the Mediterranea salad is awesome with its artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers and gorganzola cheese. If you are in the mood for a more American-type fare, they have juicy burgers and huge philly cheesesteak sandwiches. Their burgers definitely give 5 Guys and other competitors a run for their money. Overall a great place to eat with owners and cooks who take pride in their food.

We've eaten here twice and both times our food was excellent, portions large and prices reasonable. We shared a large pizza the first time and had the chef's special ziti and the eggplant Dominick the second time. Service is also very good. Plan on returning.

This is by far the best Italian restaurant we have found in the Lakeland area. All the veal dishes are tender and tasty - both the meat and the tomato sauces are excellent and put most other Italian restaurants to shame. Service is friendly and prompt - great value for your money if you like authentic Italian Food..

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
