Overly-enthusiastic staff who really don't know anything about what's on their menu. Orders not filled correctly. Burritos soaked in drippy sauces that add nothing to the taste. Overly-cheerful staff keep pestering you during your meal offering refills on your soda, asking you how awesome everything is, and yet what they need to be doing is improving the order-taking and order-filling process. Example: I ordered a steak quesadilla; according to their printed menu, a quesadilla does not come with chips and salsa. So I ordered a SMALL side of chips. What arrived? A GIANT dish of chips, enough for four people -- and my quesadilla also came with chips! When I pointed out to one of the cheerful but clueless dining room staff that I would not have ordered the SIDE of chips if I had been told by the order-taker that my entree also came with chips, she instantly summoned the manager. The manager arrived and asked what was wrong; I explained the situation and he told me that the chips ARE listed on the menu with the quesadillas. A quick consultation with the printed menus on display at the entrance showed him to be incorrect as I stated. I also suggested that he spend some time educating his order-takers on what is on their own menu and to assist the customers when they order so as to avoid these kind of problems. In all, mediocre food; clueless staff. No reason to return.

I am a Tijuana Flats fan, and was excited to see one open in this location! The portion sizes are very reasonable, prices very fair and staff extremely friendly. Hubs and I had a great experience here and will be back.

This place is consistently great. The food is good but it's the service and obvious culture that is impressive. The staff is young and yet...always busy. I have never seen one on their phone. They are always keeping busy and cleaning or refilling or checking on guests. The product is very good regardless of the cost but it is very economical. Keep up the great work and The Gallagher's will keep coming back!

Always good tex mex food. I love the flautas. My husband gets the tacos and my son likes the chips. It's a really fun place to eat. They have a hot sauce bar and lots of art all over the walls. The food is always good and the staff is very kind and courteous. They made my flautas to order with "bangin' chicken" which is not on the menu. But they were really nice about it an smack it happen. It always brightens my day when I can have some flautas from Tijuana flats!

Love this place. Just a fun atmosphere to have a beer and some good old Mexican cantina food.

The food is always good...but time and time again they get my pick up order wrong... again tonight. I ordered 3cheese nachos with extra queso on the side (because there is NEVER enough on the order) and for the third time I get home and I have extra cheese in my container, NOT queso!! I called to see if they could just keep my name on file and know my order!! Not happening. I hung up out of frustration only to have the person call me back and sarcastically ask.. "did we get disconnected?" please... just get the order right!!!

Average tex mex chimichanga was lean on filling, generous portion of chips . Certainly a lot of room for improvement. About $9 for lunch a little on the high side for lunch.

Quick Summary: For reals great tasting food at a great value. Love the tortilla chips and the variety of hot sauces! I usually don't review specific chain restaurants, since they exist to provide consistent quality and expectations. But this was my first experience with this particular chain and was very happy with the visit and thought it appropriate for me to lend my praise. The food was notably good, of a higher quality than I'd expect from a chain. Fresh and hot and not microwaved! :D The family went with the fish tacos which were very tasty and I had the chimichanga (medium) which was HUGE! I really liked the tortillas chips, you can tell they were made on site cause they came out nice and hot, they were thin and crispy and not soaking in oil like some other places. I was very impressed with their hot sauce bar! A great selection and variety of sauces, and they are hot hot hot!!! Well not all of them, but I like spicy so I went with the hottest ones I could find... and was not disappointed. I should note that you order at the counter and they bring it out to you, which I found to be really nice for a place you go to grab a quick bite. Of particular note, while we were dining the manager made sure to come by and make sure we were happy with with the meal and experience. That was a nice personal touch. All in all, a very pleasant experience; good food, great value, and very friendly service!

I've only ever had one menu item, but we eat there weekly. I enjoy the 3-cheese nachos (secret menu item) so much that I never felt the need to try anything else. The hot sauce bar is novel and fun. I've enjoyed trying out some of the sauces. Unfortunately, I've also been sorry for trying a few that were just too hot. But that's my fault - not theirs. The staff is wonderful - especially Denise who goes out of her way to ensure everyone is happy. Unlike many places, the managers can be seen pitching in to do the grunt work. This keeps the place running smoothly and the food showing up quickly. We've been there dozens of times now - maybe a hundred or more. There are plenty of reasons to keep going back!

This is great out of the way place. If you want some good inexpensive Mexican food you should try this place. I had the wet chimichanga, rice and black beans it was very good. My hubby had the wet burrito and chips he thought it was also very good. My 7 year old had the chic fingers, rice and chips he was happy with it and ate it all. This place has great atmosphere and a hot sauce bar to die for. It is a must try!!

While a little on the pricy side for a quick bite, these guys do awesome work. The food is fast, hot, fresh and fairly tasty. The hot sauce bar is a really cool idea, though I personally don't use it. My father-in-law loves to explore it every time he comes down to visit us.

So they guys at Tijuana flats are great. I should give them five stars. The food is great. Fish tacos! I only wish they had a big screen tv then I would take the gang at night for beers.

thought it was a sports bar; not; two small tv's....servers yell out names once their orders are up; a waiter knows their customer and does not have to scream out their name in order to find them; terrible!.....I sat there for about 15 minutes before server came up to me, and I even had to wave my hand in order to get her attention....She was not happy with her job as she asked if my company was hiring; the servers do smile and have good personalities but not good service at all; I had a draft beer and 15 minutes later headed out the door........Will not be back or refer.....sorry....

I didn't give this place less than 2 stars because I like the concept of this place. Fresh food, hormone free, especially for the little ones. I'm guessing this place is known for their hot sauces, which I didn't know this place had a hot sauce bar until I got up to use the bathroom, even after I told the hostess and waitress it was my first time there. I was not impressed by the weird taco seasoning added to the nacho chips and rice (sorry that was awful). I get that this place is suppose to be a little different but the chipotle chicken quesadilla had no flavor. I will say the lime marinated steak was good. (I'm a fan for steak and lime!) I was looking for a good local spot, and this place didn't cut it.

This location has a great atmosphere. It's not too crowded during taco tuesdays or weekends (or ever). Sometimes they allow live amateur performers to play outsidr. Food is excellent, service is quick, staff is friendly.

Well, I can check another Tijuana Flats off my list. This particular Tijuana Flats is around the corner from my boyfriend's place, so I imagine I will probably be going back no matter what. On this trip, I decided to try out the chicken "no-ritto" bowl. It was delicious, and I would highly recommend it if you are a fan of tex-mex deliciousness all mixed together in one bowl. Not only does it include lettuce, chicken, black beans, rice, and salsa, but you also get a big ol' scoop of guac on top! On top of the great food and always epic hot sauce bar, we also happened to get great service on this trip. That tends to be a trend at Tijuana Flats that always makes me want to go back. On this occasion, there was actually a food mixup with my boyfriend's order too but it was promptly corrected and they even brought us out a complimentary bowl of chips and salsa to make up for us having to wait an additional few minutes. That's a win in my book. Well done, T-Flats. Well done.

One of the better places to stop if you're looking for fast Tex-Mex foods. Though most of the entrees are a little heavy, there are options for making the meal healthier, such as low-fat sour cream, guacamole and side salads. There's also the hot sauce bar and the fresh ingredients, which gives it an advantage over some of the competition nearby (Taco Maker, Taco Bell). Staff is friendly and efficient, and knows a lot more about their menu these days than when Mike S. had visited-- maybe his situation can be explained by TF being relatively new at the time that he visited the store? In the past six months, this location has been running a lot of special deals-- Tuesdays has a special on two tacos, Thursdays is the beer night, and the weekend nights often have some sort of live entertainment.

Our favorite place to get good grub that's real food. Soooo much better than any fast food or even similarly priced restaurant, and the server are always great! Also, one of the only places you can get many things on the menu that are naturally gluten free. Even the QUESO!!! Happy Campers. :)

Pretty good "fast food" Mexican, quality food at a reasonable price. (I say "fast food" as it is set up much like "5 guys burgers" where you wait in line, place your order and wait until food is cooked and you are called.) Queso dip is to die for, better than Moe's! Dos Taco plate was huge, with two giant Tacos and nice Spanish rice and beans. Almost couldn't finish it. Easy access location with plenty of parking. I'll be back!

Great to eat in or take out. Cookie-dough flautas are a downright indulgent treat. When taking out, though, I always do a double-check before leaving. I've had the occasional wrong item before, or chips left out when ordered, etc. Only oddity last trip was that we ordered sangria, and on first sip, thought it tasted funny. A few moments later the manager came out with new cups of sangria for us, to replace the *merlot* we'd been given (on ice with lemon and lime wedges). No wonder it tasted odd (and was a far deeper red than usual).

If its contemporary, clean personality makes the almighty Chipotle the Häagen-Dazs of quick Mexican cuisine, Tijuana Flats would have to be the Ben & Jerry's, hands down. With the fun atmosphere of a sport's bar, it's walls are clad in massive, hand painted, comic-book theme murals and autographs of silly celebrities who have made previous appearances. Their menus are simple, like Chipotle's, where the items are priced on what protein (chicken, steak, bean, pork) you want, but with more variety, options and advantages. Like whole wheat tortillas, fat-free sour cream and side salads instead of fried chips or rice and beans. Their homemade salsa is a delicious appetizer, but comes up short if you're tastes are more of the spicy persuasion. Instead, you'll be lured in by the main component Tijuana Flats is known for: their 10ft wide hot sauce and condiment bar. Where you fill up your little paper dipping/pouring cups with everything from sweet, spice-free Asian chili relish, to their vinegary nuclear sauce that will leave your tongue on fire for forever and a day. No matter who you are or what your taste might be, you'll really have to kick and scream to leave Tijuana Flats unsatisfied. The best part about this one in particular? They have an amazing coffee cafe on the other end of the small plaza it's located in. Enjoy!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
