Found 2 cents on Yelp and had a blast at happy hour. From 4-6 you roll a dice to determine the price of your drink. Roll a 1 $1 drink, 2 for $2, 3 for half price and 4,5,6 full price. Our entire table rolled 1 or 2 for the first round and we were hooked. Such a fun concept! It doesn't hurt that you get free bacon all happy hour as well. Great find off of Duval!

Amazing food and wonderful people! Highly recommend the bacon wrapped jalapeños, quack quack nachos and 2 cent wings.

Is the food good? It was ok. How were the portions? They were pretty small. How were the prices? They were outrageously a "rip-off" just to be a rip-off. When I am willing to pay $17 for a salad, I expect it to blow mind and be the size of something larger. And what Key West restaurant doesn't serve key lime pie for dessert? Would we come here again? Never.

We had an Excellent experience at 2 cents. Solid cocktails and food and some unexpected bacon treats for our pup. This is spot delivers. A must try is the duck confit nachos and French press 77.

Been here several times and can't wait to come back! Great drinks, food, and atmosphere, what else can u ask for? Across from cabana Inn (new owners, great hotel) and just steps away from Duval.. Enough said

We had the Meatballs for an app and the peanut sauce was perfect. Next Brussels sprouts with currents and pecans and love it as well and the mussels in a delicious curry sauce and warm naan bread. Everything was great and flavors were incredible.

The two dinner specials were delicious and fresh....I'm usually a bar girl for seating at dinner but maybe should have chosen the courtyard this time....kinda stinky and loud inside ...par for the course and didn't ruin my experience by any means....the jalapeño seeds left in my marg however were crazy...releasing more oils each second and became undrinkable...will try again

What a gem, worth way more than your 2 cents. Small and so well done. The food is sophisticated and fun, drinks are adventurous, good beers on tap. The staff are professional. All this in a comfortable spot where you can enjoy a conversation. But please, go for the food, it was the best we had, fresh, eclectic.

To be frank, this place is overrated. I had high hopes after all of the 5 star reviews, but as a long-time Yelper, I should've known better. Like 99% of places in Key West, the food and drinks are ridiculously overpriced. (I guess this is just a hard pill to swallow after moving from a town full of culinary promise for half the ticket price of the places here.) 40% of our bill was 4 not-all-that-strong cocktails, 60% was mediocre food. (The total for the two of us was $111 pre-tip.) We started with the bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers. I would recommend these, but only during happy hour if they are on special, because $11 for 4 jalapenos halves is outrageous. I had the carnitas taco special. I think I serve more meat to my toddler. Were these tiny tortillas housemade, because I have honestly never seen a smaller tortilla in my life? For $16, one shouldn't look at a dish and think, "Aww, look at these cute little tacos!" He had the yellow tail snapper, after server recommendation. The only explanation as to why the server recommended this was because it was one of the priciest things on the menu. At $28, we literally were kicking ourselves for not just going fishing and making this dish ourselves...for probably the $4 it cost the kitchen to make. For dessert (since this was our date night out, and we were already splashing the pot...) we had the grand marnier torte. It was good, chocolatey, but there must've been 1 drop of grand marnier in the entire torte. The only pluses were that the service was fine and the setting was enjoyable. We had reservations, so we didn't wait. Ambiance was nice--outdoor seating, smaller dining area. 2 stars for those things, but 3 knocked off because we go out to dinner for the food.

Great restaurant in the keys! We were recommended to go there by a worker at the wine bar and it was very good!! They had excellent castelvetrano olives, and mussels! The restaurant is small but there is an outside seating area. We sat at the bar and the service was good. Everything came out very fast! We enjoyed our meals but felt some of prices were expensive, but we were in the keys when they usually are pricey. We would definitely come back in here! The bacon was okay though but probably not worth the money and the mussels were good! The sauce on them were delicious! We felt that we were eating more at a local restaurant instead of a tourist trap! :)

Slightly overpriced but well worth it. We went to Times last time we were in KW. I got a burger that was to die for, the bacon wrapped peppers were awesome. All in all a good place to go just don't be surprised when you get the bill

This is a hidden gem. I would never have walked down this street unless a friend hadn't already alerted me to this place. The bacon wrapped peppers, quack quack nachos, and special Japanese eggplant were all incredible. Ambience was a classy and quirky outdoor environment. Good service.

We have been told by many friends visiting Key West to check out 2 Cents for dinner & happy hour. Two thumbs up! The atmosphere here is great, you feel right at home with many of the locals especially at the bar. The bartender was extremely polite & friendly during both visits. Dinner consisted of Pork Meatballs, Beet Salad & Fish Tacos... They were all great! I couldn't believe how large the Beet Salad was, it was extremely fresh and tasty. They offer a great selection of speciality cocktails & draft beer, be sure to keep an eye out for any new drafts you may not be familiar with. I would honestly say the highlight here for us : Happy Hour!! 4-6 at the bar. They offer a great selection of "snacks" all for under $10. What makes 2 Cents truly unique is that once your drinks are ordered, which keep in mind everything is pretty much on Happy Hour, you are given the chance to roll the dice. It's very simple.. I'll explain! If you roll a 1 you simply pay 1$, if you roll a 2 you pay 2$, 3 is half price & 4-6 you pay full price. How lucky do you feel? But be warned if you don't have a lucky roll, you are paying a good amount for your beverage of choice. Added bonus... They give you bacon to snack on we well. It sounds pretty heavily I know, what are you waiting for? Enjoy!!

Fun twist on a meal. Happy hour has a good variety of dishes. We had the sliders (2), peppers, nachos. Also rolled a 1 to get a $1 drink.

Well I won't lie.... Originally 2 cents wasn't on our dining radar, but after watching a tv show in our hotel room it quickly jumped into our lineup after the local food critic picked 2 cents as one of her favorite restaurants. Thankfully I saw her show because it was one of the best dinners we've had. The service is excellent. I wish I remembered the Male bartenders name, but i don't, nevertheless he was amazing. Zach was more than accommodating as well when he let me have my burger prepared from a past menu. Great-great group of people working here. Drinks: Moscow Mule- wife said it was the BEST mule she's had and she gets them everywhere. Good wine list too. Food: Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers- sweet butter and fleur de sel (a type of sea salt). These were the best poppers we've ever had. Highly recommended! Crazy Uncle Larry's Bacon- really? Who doesn't love bacon. Enough said! Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras- blueberry preserve and hazelnut cream with grilled brioche. First of all Foie is illegal in CA, so as my favorite dish I order it anytime outside of CA. Second of all 2 cents version is one of the best ever! MUST get! Farmhouse Burger with Pork Belly- 1/2 lb. angus burger, chopped pork belly, fried egg, tomato, lettuce and pickles (optional). I've eaten a lot of burgers in my life, but this one stands towards the top burgers I've consumed. Perfectly cooked burger with the addition of pork belly and a fried egg all on a brioche bun.... Yikes! If they're offering this combo, it's a MUST order. Highly recommended! Brioche Grilled Cheese- American cheese with tomato/basil jam. Seriously hands down the BEST grilled cheese the wife and I have ever tasted! Highly recommended! It was raining that night and we were scheduled for a table but elected to sit at the bar instead. Great happy hour too. If you want quiet/intimate the bar isn't the best place for that (obviously). You must eat at 2Cents. Awesome place!

Wow. Wow. Wow. That's all I can say! We came here based on a recommendation from Victor of Danger Charters. SO glad we did. First, they have liquors that NO ONE else has. I have NEVER been able to find Boyd & Bailey vodka at a bar anywhere. I have Celiac and am very sensitive to what types of liquor I can drink. B&B is my vodka of choice. Hubby had some really old rum that he's never seen anywhere either. They were very accommodating of my gluten free needs and did have a separate GF menu. I went with the special....KW Pink shimp & cheddar grits. Oh My GAWD, it was FANTASTIC! Hubby opted for a burger and thoroughly enjoyed that too. We sat at the bar and Layla the bartender was wonderful. We missed the free bacon for happy hour. Maybe we'll hit there again before we go back home.

We had come from another establishment where we decided not to eat because of the poor service getting seated and getting our drinks. When we showed up at m 2cents it was refreshing to be treated by a host and be seated right away. The service was by far the best we had so far on the island. Everyone enjoyed there food, but you will pay for it. A little on the pricey side, but can't beat the service.

We were looking for some good eats off the beaten path of the downtown area and this place was wonderful! The absolute best grilled cheese I have ever eaten in my life! Greek salad was amazing, duck nachos, and super great cocktails. Excellent service, nice atmosphere, and such a good choice! Stop in you'll be happy you did!

Tucked away on an off street, this is a secret oasis with great food, great ambiance. A beautiful menu made to please everyone at any time, lunch, snacks, dinner. A great place for a rendezvous or a quiet party with friends. Cool.

I had a feeling we'd love this place by the looks of it in photos and the menu and I wasn't wrong. My husband and I stopped by for dinner on our mini-moon. We dined indoors to stay out of the heat and close to the bar. Shout out to Layla who was holding it down and an amazing conversationalist! 2 Cents is even cuter in person. It's not a large indoor space but that's what gives it charm. Loads of reclaimed elements come together to create an eclectic, unique look. The menus compliment the aesthetic with fun names ( there's an Inigo Montoya drink), ingredients (gummy sharks in my cocktail, wut!) and presentations (Chinese food containers with an outpouring of deliciousness). They don't take themselves too seriously and that makes everything even better. Don't be fooled by the cuteness, though, they know what they're doing with flavors and you won't be disappointed. This was the perfect spot for quirky food-lovers like ourselves. Key West can be a little campy and parrotheady (which is GREAT) but this was a refreshing change of pace while we were down there. We'll certainly be back!

  • Amy J.

Great food and drinks. But.....they charge you different prices than what is listed on the menu and the bartender is SO unfriendly!! I know it's a tourist town but you have choices- move or find a new job! We have been here a couple of times so we may not live in key west, but we live close enough to go more than once and I don't think we will be back again. The free bacon is a great idea, except when it's used to distract from bitchiness.

Catch of the day: cobia was a good choice. Also the fish tacos and the chicken wings. We were recommended the place by the crew of the Danger cruise but made little difference and we were the only people in the restaurant so were a little apprehensive. There was a black net overhead because the trees above keep dropping fruit & leaves, we were told. We had been recommended to try the shrimp in bacon, but it wasn't so good. The burgers could have been better explained as the pork belly burger was beef w a pork topping. It was still very good though. We disliked the quinoa whiskey w blackberries and the hibiscus tequila was v disappointing as was the Sazerac, so not a hit with the drinks overall, but a hit with the food!

My son and I ate at 2 cents tonight. It is a hidden gem. We started with the wings which were amazing. For entrees we had steak and frites and the snapper special. Both dishes were really good.

  • Jennifer F.

OMG!!! Amazing!!!! Loved their wings -crispy and well seasoned!!! Taco Asados rocked as well, tender and juicy! Ordered two more orders of wings 'to-go'....they were that good! Groovy lil outdoor patio close to Duval yet off the beaten path! Can't wait to go back!

We love the atmosphere, and how we are never rushed through our meal or drinks. Layla is great and held her own during a very busy happy hour, great job! The drink selection here is terrific, when I couldn't decide, our wonderful bartender recommended a lovely glass of wine. And she was right! It was a wonderful Sav Blanc. We look forward to stopping in again next week during another trip the KW. Cheers!

My friend and I heard that this is a place where the locals go so we decided to check it out. We ordered the quack quack nachos and tacos of the day which were yellowtail snapper which was delicious! Great service and all the dishes looked yummy! I didn't get to try the happy hour which I hear you get a side of bacon. Just another excuse for me to take another vacation!

Review 1 Didn't let me eat by myself at the bar and the place was dead. It was a very easy exception they could have made. I won't explain more but they were snooty enough to turn me away so they deserve a ding. Review 2. Holy Moly. The host just sat two table settings next to me for people "that made a reservation". This place is dead right now. I just revised the rating from 3 stars to 1 star. The people that manage this place are not cool and are the type that dont care about you. The bartender is cool :)

We had an incredible dinner here on a Tuesday night as a storm passed over. The seating is very limited when it rains, luckily they were able to make it work. We started off with a round of drinks and appetizers. The wine selection was very nice for the size restaurant, but beer selection left something to be desired for a self described "gastropub". We had the radish, duck nachos, truffle fries, and Chinese 5 spice scotch eggs. The truffle fries and duck nachos were adequate, but not memorable. The radish and scotch eggs were stand outs. I love Chinese 5 spice and scotch eggs, so the combo really worked for me. Next we had the kobe beef dog, blue cheese burger, tile fish tacos, olives, and gulf shrimp with succotash. This round was really great. House made buns would have been nice, or at least a quality roll for the hot dog, but everything was really nice. Particular favorites were the shrimp with succotash and the tile fish tacos (a special). They also have some large plate offerings that looked great when they passed by, but we were in the mood for small plates and sharing. We'll go back next trip down, but no need for multiple visits during the same trip.

A really great restaurant. Tried to come here once based off a magazine article we read but they were closed for a private party. Decided to try again later in the week and we were not disappointed. The food was so delicious!

Tasty drinks and snacks. The sliders were great! I'm pretty easy to please. Love the touch of the complimentary bacon mini-buckets. They need to get the air conditioning fixed or add another wall unit to the other side of the room. If there's a large crowd inside, you will be sweating bullets.

I love this place too! My husband and I came in week before Thanksgiving for the excellent draft beer selection and asked the bartender, Chris if the Chef could make us a Foie Gras burger! It's not on the menu. You'll have to ask for it. Thank you Chef! They were so nice and accommodating. We went back a second night and had the fish tacos. Excellent find on Key West. I hope they add the FG Burger to the menu! Will have to stop by for happy hour next time we are in town.

If you are in Key West and you like good food, 2 Cents is a must visit establishment. Hubby and I first visited on the second day of our trip. We found 2 Cents because they participate in the Key West 2 for 1 Bar Card. Hubby had a Stella to drink, and I had the most exquisite tasting cocktail ever: Black Betty -- Smith & Cross Jamaican rum, Canton ginger liquor, fresh basil, balsamic reduction, club soda. I could rhapsodize about this drink; in fact, I think I will. It has a dark, molassass-y foretaste, with a gingery pop in the middle, and a tart finish. And it's the best drink that's ever passed my lips. I understand from our server that "you either love it or hate it." Fair warning, hubby hated it, and so did the two friends we brought with us on our second visit. Hubby and I split three appetizers: Edamame hummus, truffle fries, and Crazy Uncle Larry's bacon. (For the record, Uncle Larry is crazy; his bacon is just delicious). Each was worthy of applause. For our entrees, Hubby ordered a Royale with cheese - I don't get the joke but some will. And I ordered the roasted acorn squash with curried chickpeas, yogurt raita, and mango chutney. Hubby declared that his burger was delicious, and I can attest that my acorn squash was mouthwatering. The squash was perfectly roasted, and the chutney and raita were the perfect complements to the curry. Wow, this review is getting long. But 2 Cents is worth a long review. OK, our second visit was with our friends, another couple who appreciate good food. They got on this visit what we'd had on our last visit, and they agreed with our assessments. I honestly do not remember what Hubby ordered on this visit, but I remember that we weren't as hungry as we'd been the first time. Of course, I ordered a Black Betty again to drink. For an appetizer, I had the lemongrass and thai chili spiced cashews, which were scrumptious. For my entree, I had the special: Day boat scallops over yukon mashed potatoes. The scallops were as good as I've ever had. They melted in my mouth. And the garlicky mashed potatoes were a great accompaniment. By the way, the indoor/outdoor atmosphere is charming. On our second visit, we were seated outside on a covered patio. Mid-dinner, the skies opened and poured down upon us, but we stayed cosy and dry. I don't remember the name of either of our servers, but I should because they were impeccable. All in all, 2 cents was one (actually two) of the best dining experiences I've ever had.

I love this place. I am pretty sure this is owned by the same people as The Porch (another craft beer bar in Key West). The beer selection here isn't as good as some others on the island, but the vibe and the people here are great. The inside is a small bar area with about 5 tables and maybe 7 bar stools. Usually a rotation of about 6 craft beers on draft. My favorite thing about this place is the Happy Hour. When ordering a drink, two things occur: (1) they bring you FREE BACON! That's right. They will bring out a shot glass with about 2 or 3 pieces of perfectly cooked bacon. (2) They give you a die. Each number on the die is associated with a different Happy Hour special. If memory serves me, it is something like this: 1= BOGO, 2= $2 off 3= $1 off, 4-6= nothing. That may not be the exact parameters, but it is something along those lines. The food is also amazing. My favorite dish is the PEI Mussels. It contains PEI mussels in a creamy, delicious curry soup. Absolutely delicious! This is also a locals bar, so you get away from all of the drunk tourists. Check this place out for sure.

One of the coolest spots in Key West! Great/interesting food and a friendly vibe. The term "Gastropub" has been beaten up and overused in recent years. Many common bars have inserted this term into their names without due changes to their dining selections. Let me say that this is not the case with 2 Cents. They have creative selection for the foodies and pub standards for the commoners. And in both cases they rock!. They put a unique twist on their wings and I dare say they might be the best I've had in the past year. And bone marrow on any menu is an indication that your day is about to get better! Yummy! Without getting too longwinded about it, my wife and I tried half a dozen or so items. All were very good. But the best thing about this spot; bacon! Bacon as a bar snack instead of peanuts or pretzels! It's only put out during happy hour but man oh man, that is one happy-ass hour!

My friend and her husband live down in Key West and have for some 8 + years. They suggested this place and they "know" all the good ones. We ate outside as it was Dec/Jan and a lovely night. We started with some appetizers--now I don't like radishes--but 2 Cents made me a convert, at least to their dish. We tried the Heirloom razor thin cut radishes (green and white and red like apples) with butter and salt..who knew? They were delicious! Amazing even---YES I said that about a radish (blah). Great wine selection as well! Food was delicious, atmosphere is Key West upscale trendy, and the food has that locally grown feel to it. It's also next to a sex shop which makes walking to it even more adventuresome! Very good!

FUCKING GO HERE! I was here for a holiday over thanksgiving. The first night we went, it was so amazing, we had to go again. The wings, the burgers, the drinks, the atmosphere, service, everything. On the second account, mind you, it was the next day, we went for their wings. My family and I, not the most sober at the time, were not only rather irritating to serve, but also loud and fucking obnoxious. The server kept the majority of his cool and catered to our egregious needs more than professionally. Amazing food, amazing drinks, and an outstanding experience. Sober, or not. (staff, if you read this, my family of four and I thank you.)

We had an excellent dinner at 2 Cents last week. We tried the meatballs and brussel sprouts for an appetizer which were both great. Then the fish tacos and Key West "pinks" with hearts of palm cakes for dinner. Fantastic meal!

Absolute must try for visitors to key west. Nice and secluded, with good indoor and outdoor options. Service is a little slow, but it's key west. And who can really complain when you're eating bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers??

This by far was one of the cooler places I went to while in Key West everything was cool - the music was cool - the server was cool and the vibe was very nice !!! They had yummy Yummy and did I mention yummy bacon free at happy hour it's worth it just for those folks. They also have the coolest dice game for happy hour I highly recommend it as well. I was there on a Sunday in the kitchen it was closed until six so I'm coming back for some of the other victuals that they had on their menu !! The early grey vodka martini was off the hook !

What a great addition to Key West! My friend Daniel who is a manager there invited me and my friend Mark to have brunch at 2 Cents while we were in KW.....SOOOO glad we did! It's a funky little place that has Key West written all over it! We started with the bacon bloody mary's topped with a maple glazed bacon donut hole...really tasty and the donut was the perfect garnish! Then on to one of the best Kentucky Hot Browns I've ever had! (And I am from Kentucky!)....Mark had the Tuscan White Bean Benedicts....PERFECTLY poached eggs and the largest white beans I've ever seen....very tasty! The dinner menu looked really creative and flavorful, so I know on my next trip to KW I will be hitting this place up for more than just brunch!

Awesome place with spot on service! We made a dog-friendly Key West list and it brought us here. It is right off Duval but has a cool, clean atmosphere and setting. The waiter was prompt, friendly, and most importantly, kind to our four-legged kid. The happy hour is great and the food is awesome. We were able to roll the dice for our beer prices. We grabbed the artichoke dip and the Thai chicken wings, both which were absolutely delicious - I will have to somehow steal the artichoke dip recipe! It was a great place to start off our Key West trip and a nice place for good food and good prices, without all the insanity of Duval Street.

Absolutely perfect; our group of 6 loved this restaurant! Everything was great! We had the foie gras, crazy uncle Larry's bacon, kale Caesar salad, Brussels spouts salad, good wine, great Moscow mule, and more! Delicious!

2 cents was a welcome change from the standard vacation fare. I had the mussels and beet salad which were both fresh and flavorful. Hunt had the crab chowder and tuna tacos of the day. He raved about the tacos and said the chowder was good. Host was very warm and welcoming today. Server was attentive and efficient. Drink choices were above average. Will return if we are in Key West!

Ah, the 2 Cent. I visited this spot twice while in Key West -- once for brunch and once for happy hour. It is definitely off the beaten path like everyone says, hidden down on Applerouth. It's right next to the Leather Master, so you can get your dominatrix needs and your cocktail needs all met in the same block. Convenient! From the outside, this place doesn't look like much, but they have a lovely patio and a really cute little bar once you step inside. Make a reservation if you want to come here as it is small, and it gets full. Brunch here was great. Their Bloody Marys were delicious, there were lots of menu choices, and everyone thought their meal was really good. I got egg in a hole and it was delightful. Another member of the party got Kentucky Brown, which he said was fantastic, and I honestly cannot remember what the other person got, but we all loved our meals. While we were there, we noticed they had an interesting drink menu, and the bartender let us know they were known for their craft cocktails, so we stopped in there for happy hour one day, which runs from 4-6 p.m. They hand out little containers of bacon to all the tables during happy hour -- YES. We also got an order of the spicy cashews, and while they looked a little weird with lemongrass all over them (they were oft referred to as "hairy nuts" at our table), they were really addicting. I had a Black Betty to drink, and really enjoyed it. I was told people seem to either love it or hate it, but I thought it was really refreshing. This spot is a total hidden gem, and a must stop if you're in Key West!

We got a recommendation from a local bartender to go to this restaurant. It was amazing! Beautiful setting, wonderful service and delicious food! We had a late night dinner there and it was just perfect. Don't miss this place when you're in Key West!

We had such high hopes, I mean free bacon! My 2 cents? Skip this place and save yourself from overpriced drinks and a less than friendly bartender. We won't go back. If you want a great happy hour, go to The Commodore!

Great bar. Sweet bartender. Very cool and different booze. Free bacon while you drink at happy hour. Roll dice for reduced drink prices. Didn't get any food because I ate a pound of bacon but the guy next to me got wings said there where pretty good Don't forget to stop next door for a harness and nipple clamps.

I go here every time I go to Key West and have never been disappointed. The drinks are fantastic and so is the food. I came from a fancy Vegas steak place, eating a nice ribeye cut, and the flank steak they made here was better, in my opinion. Try a little of everything, you can't go wrong.

Imagine stepping into the Tardis. Turn your back, it's Duval Street. Look up? See strange and exotic aliens. Oh, wait. That's just the super cool light fixtures at 2 Cents. 2 Cents is one of my favorite restaurants in Key West where I feel like I'm in a somewhat tropical version of a Bucktown or Fulton Market (Chicago Peeps!) gastropub. The sangrias (all three types) are wonderful and the dishes are creative and delicious. I usually opt for the wok sauteed greens beans and Moroccan Spiced Chicken with apricot cous cous. As for brunch, the yogurt parfait is nice, but some items seemed a bit spendy. Overall, the ambiance is fun, fresh, urban and chic. Definitely worth a visit with friends or for date night.

A great place for not just a great meal with adults, but also worked for my 11 yr old daughter. Wings and burger for her and a delicious bowl of mussels for me. Loved it!

Great place! We stayed across the street and that is how we found it. The food was amazing and the wings are to die for. Chris the bartender/server was awesome to us. I will definitely return, loved it!

Just a warning...Went here for the happy hour...Yelp said it wasn't open till 6:00 ..We thought that was odd for happy hour..showed up @ 6:00 and of coarse HH was over. Missed out..will try again next time in KW...love bacon!

Wonderful experience here! Recommended to me and I will pay it forward. Very good mixed greens salad with peanuts, a light vinaigrette and roasted beets. Even better were the yellowtail tacos. A party broke out in my mouth with each bite! Really great experience.

I have a feeling this would have been better had we gotten a table and not sat at the bar. The bartender was not on his A game so service was pretty crappy. We did have some really good appetizers but our truffle fries never came and we still got charged for them. We also got a dish we did not order which was so-so. The chicken wings were excellent and the bacon wrapped jalepenos were pretty good. The spiced pork meatballs were yummy but not enough sauce. On the bright side we did meet a nice lady that offered up some good dinner suggestions for the rest of our trip. Would try again but not sit at the bar.

Came for brunch on a Sunday while in KW. The truffle french toast was awesome. So was the Kentucky. Nice alternative to a standard breakfast.

I liked it...but didn't love it. They menu was all over the place and super-hipster, if that makes any sense at all! We were having a late dinner and it was tough to find something light that wasn't a salad. Overall, I'd love to come back and have a proper meal. I missed her name, but our waitress was fabulous.

Wow. Warmth, ambience and good food. I am so happy to be able to put myself in the hands of a capable and seasoned server. DANIEL made me dining experience exceptional. I am so grateful and I cannot wait to return.

We made a reservation with open table after a bar tender recommended it. We split a big kale caesar salad which was really good. I wasn't super hungry so I just had an appetizer--conch gazpacho, which wasn't bad but nothing special. The food wasn't over priced, wasn't outstanding but I would say above average. They also had a pretty decent beer selection, but definitely not the best.

This place is a hidden, quiet gem away from the chaos and ruckus of Duval St. We went for brunch after not wanting to wait an hour for a table at Blue Heaven. We were seated right away and the food was great - try the huevos rancheros and truffle omelette! Didn't miss Blue Heaven one bit. Servers are nice and atmosphere is chill and cozy. We'll have to come back to try their happy hour and dinner.

Came here in attempts to get my moneys worth from the Bar Card. Almost didn't go inside cause the outside didn't look to great, luckily there was a little window that I looked through. It has the loveliest courtyard that is canopied by a banyan tree. The bar has very interesting sculptures and artwork. All of it was very cool, but not as cool as their happy hour! Free Bacon! Yes, Free Bacon! Yummy! We ended up also getting their Quack Quack Nachos which were delicious.

I'll start by saying that the food was absolutely incredible. Well-prepared and well thought out. We had beers to drink, and were disappointed with only a few craft options. The crowd was low key, but jovial. The decor was fantastic! My only complaint, and I have just one, is that the lighting was super dim: so dim that the hostess had to lend us her phone to see the menu! Some of the back tables could use some extra lighting at night.

Poblano artichoke dip is probably best thing ever to dunk a tortilla chip into. Very good food all around. The space is kinda indoor/outdoor so it works perfectly as a relaxing hideaway right off Duval. The cocktails were inventive, expecially the blood orange cocktail and margaritas.

Had lunch after speaking with a few locals, I could not have found a better spot. First off any place that replaces nuts with bacon is perfect in my book. The staff was super friendly and really took great care of us. I think we had pretty much half the menu but I must say the wings were some of the best Ive ever had.... I know "chicken wings" really thats what you want to discuss. Well I dare you to try them and you will understand exactly what I am talking about. A few locals sat at the bar with my girlfriend and I and were very friendly and helpful. The bartender seriously helped us pick a few more places to eat while in town and all were terrific. Great spot Great People Thank you for the Great Experience!!!!!

Came here on a late Monday night for dinner and were seated in the bar area. Bartender was our server, and she was nice but took awhile to warm up. I am a regular at bars at home, so I know her approach to us (no hello, just a walk up and look at us approach) is probably what she does with her regulars, but it was awkward at first. We ordered the BLT (own choice) and the gnocchi (I asked for her favorite). We had to get more bacon as a side because I just had to see if it was all that good. Food was OUTSTANDING. Bacon was perfect. Pork belly on the sandwich was tasty, even the fries were addicting. The gnocchi - oh my God, that was awesome. We were glad we had split our dishes because just half the plate was rich enough (and I can eat!!!). Definitely a Key West gem.

Very cool location to dine at on Key West. Stopped in here on a whim and had the chicken and waffle which was one of the specials. It was amazing! Couple that with the great service we received from the bartender and the great drink suggestions I would go back here for sure. I highly recommend it to anyone. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Went for Sunday Brunch after a local recommended 2 cents. The food is ok but nothing to rave about. The Bloody Mary comes with bacon and a donut hole which is unique. We were seated outside which was pleasant and the service was good. I would recommend the shrimp fried rice served with edamame which gave it a unique flavor and the bacon cheddar omelet. 2 guests in my party did receive very undercooked eggs which were taken back and never returned. Brunch is ala carte So toast and potato are extra.

Recommended by Landon of the PORCH beer bar. Did not disappoint. Lovely Hostess, Layla, excellent waiter, Bobby, fun atmosphere, inside and on the Patio, and divine, flavorful food. We enjoyed Conch Cerviche and PEI Mussels in an amazing, complex, curry cream sauce. We saw 6 other thing we were dying to try. Everyone knew their beers and could explain details from taste through history and method. We wish our vacation was longer. So far this is the best of Key West. It is a few steps off of Duvsl, in a quirt alley, so there was even immediate seating. Happy!

There is much to like about 2 Cents, and since it is a relatively new restaurant there is also room for it to improve upon a few small things. I had actually stumbled upon the website for 2 Cents while doing some simple internet searches looking for some new and more interesting places to eat during our upcoming vacation. While walking Duval Street one afternoon we stopped in to The Porch (which I'll also review) to have a beer. The Porch is a very classy little craft beer place, quite the opposite of what you find in many places surrounding it on Duval. While talking to the man tending bar we asked him what his thoughts were on good places to eat. And he laughed and said that he honestly was biased as he was one of the owners of both The Porch and 2 Cents. Since we liked him, his knowledge and passion for what he was doing at The Porch we felt comfortable that 2 Cents would handle us with equal care. Our first trip, we arrived shortly after they opened for happy hour. The place is funky, extremely classy looking, and as with The Porch, not at all what you expect to find one block off of Duval and next door to Leather Masters. The bartender was extremely laid back and friendly. He was talkative and also quite informative about snorkeling, diving, life in Key West in general. Eight beers on tap, a decent selection given the relatively small size of the bar inside. Outside was not yet open as it had rained. Happy Hour from 4-6:30, 50% off of all beer and wine, there is no liquor served here. There is a nice selection of appetizers on the menu. We had the Thai Chili wings, and the artichoke dip. Both were very good - the sauce for the wings was fantastic. The artichoke dip had the distinction of being mostly artichokes and not just an excuse to eat cheese, which was refreshing. Key West local came in and sat down next to us. He ordered a crab cake and we found he was from Baltimore. My wife is from Annapolis, so they both spoke on the subject of crab cakes and how bad they can be anywhere outside the Eastern Shore. He swore this was the best in Key West and actually gave her a plate with a bite of his to prove it. Not bad at all she thought. Second trip - we sat outside under the cover of the roof as it was again raining. Had a glass of wine, not a bad selection there, and wife had the Sangria. Both were fine. Tried the calamari, the sliders, and I again had to have the wings. The only "miss" was the calamari, it had a tempura batter on it and was just okay. The service on the second trip was a little slower, but 2 Cents has a small kitchen and they were a bit busier with a full bar inside and three tables outside. I'm sure when they are slammed with appetizer orders during happy hour it can become quite hectic. We never had dinner there but many of the things on the dinner menu looked very intriguing, but certainly more "upscale" than what you'd find in many places nearby. All in all, if you like to escape the madness of Duval Street for a bit, and you enjoy a very casual meal in a great environment then this place is for you. We'll definitely make a few stops here on our next trip to Key West.

Hey you. Yes you, discerning patron who wants to skip that bland over priced food and noise on Duval Street. You can thank me later for introducing you to 2 cents. Start with the artichoke dip and get one of the specials (fish tacos with fresh salsa, cabbage, and basmati rice) damn if only I hadn't filled up on that amazing dip. Great decor, nice calm ambiance, excellent attentive service, and industry friendly. One of my highlights from my trip to Key West for sure. For those reviewers that called it a gastro pub, yes it is that, and a bit more.

My partner and I spent 9 days in Key West recently and were made aware of the delightful 2Cent by a fantastic guide (Heather!!) we had during a kayaking excursion. She declared brunch at 2Cent to be the best around, and she did not lie! She also told us to tell Daniel, the Manager, that she sent us over. He was very gracious....as was the entire staff. The food is spectacular and very original, especially for Key West. You can find some great restaurants all over the island that have some amazing and creative dishes, but something stands out about the cuisine at 2Cent. Coming from Seattle where we have a ton of fantastic restaurants, especially seafood, it was great to visit a place that does things a little differently. To call it a gastropub really only skims the surface of what they do and certainly does not do it justice. It is so much more than that. You can find things like Scotch Eggs in many places.....but we have never seen them with quail eggs. Nor have we ever seen eggs benedict served on a bed of artichoke hearts instead of the traditional english muffin. You get the idea. They take the traditional and give it a very curious and delicious twist. We actually had a tough time narrowing down what we wanted from the menu as it was so different from the majority of the restaurants out there. We wanted to try it all. We enjoyed the food so much at brunch that we went back for dinner a few nights later. Once again Daniel and the crew were very gracious and welcoming. We devoured our Grouper dinners with gusto.....and a fabulous bottle of wine. Definitely worth a visit......or several. :D

3.5 stars. The food was tasty, atmosphere was nice and relaxing, drinks were good and strong, but the prices were quite high for what I got/compared to other establishments in the are. Coming from San Diego, that's saying a lot since I'm used to paying high prices. All and all, I had a good experience here, but not sure if I'd return since there are other options close by that offer food and drinks of the same/better quality for less.

Great Key West atmosphere with a menu to match. Great variety of unique foods and craft beers. Close to touristy Duval street, but feels very 'local'. Try the Hot Kentucky Brown at brunch, fantastic!

I am going to buck an obvious trend and write an honest review. When the best thing you eat is potato chips and dip, there's a huge problem! I ordered those and they were yummy! I really enjoyed the warmth and thinness of the chips and the onion dip was awesome! My husband ordered the bacon, which tasted just like Oscar Meyer, but at a cost of about triple what we would pay in a grocery store. I had the Kobe hotdog, and when I asked what made this dish "Chicago" style. Our server told me it came with onions, tomatoes, and green peppers. I asked him to skip the tomatoe. The dog arrived with jalopeno peppers and cucumber? Hello? Who eats hotdogs with cucumbers? Inform your servers as to what's really on the menu! My husband had Steak Frites, and it was so salty, he couldn't even eat it. His fries were ice cold. Rare means rare. If you want to do medium rare, thats fine, but don't serve it well done! I might add that when we ordered a cocktail, we waited until the server, hostess and bartender asked us if we wanted drinks! The bartender finally served us. I also do not agree with a 6-year old girl eating at the bar while her mom drinks. I was extremely disappointed at a 92 dollar bill sans tip for this meal! Will not be returning on our next trip in February!!

found this little out of the way place by accident since it's on a side street off Duval but so glad we stumbled across it. They were having their Disco Brunch on a Sunday morning/afternoon so we pulled up some barstools right where the DJ was spinning (programming?). We ordered a couple of Blood Orange Mimosas which were just a little tart but still pretty good. My wife got the bacon wrapped shrimp which is never a bad choice with a side of chiptole grits. I have never had grits that were worth eating until now. So good I hesitate to label them as grits. I ordered the Breakfast Pizza with a side of bacon. Maybe the chef would frown on me messing with his creation but I crumbled the bacon on the top of the pizza and OH MY GOD was it AMAZING!! BEST. BRUNCH. EVER! Note: The server we had was very nice but seemed to be stretched a bit too thin. The sloooow service was the only thing preventing this from being a 5 star grade.

I don't understand how anyone could give this place a bad review! This is one of the few legitimate Gastropubs in Key West. Located in an intimate setting just off of the madness of Duval street, 2 cents uses a really nice and deliberately small menu so that they can make the best food possible. They have high-end meals such as fish and chicken with cous-cous which will run you $20+ a plate and according to my wife, "they're worth every penny!" They also offer a really nice burger with hand cut fries for about $14 if you're not looking to break the bank. The drink selection extends beyond the norm with novelty beer and wine smoothies if you happen to be feeling experimental with your alcohol. I'd say, if you want to avoid the tourist traps and enjoy some good food with a casual Key West attitude, you can't realistically go wrong coming here! This one ranks in my top five places in Key West to go and be with friends. And anyone giving 2 cents a poor review is either a competitor, or one of those disingenuous folks looking for special treatment from an overly empathetic staff. If you are expecting to get your meal in 10 minutes, then clearly you need to start following island time because you're too high strung! Or if you want cheap food in a short amount of time, you can always go to DENNY'S OR WENDY'S...

Very great tasting food. I would consider myself a food buff. I have traveled all over the country and abode. This is a new thing apparently in Key West. Gastropubs. So we went here Sunday after finding out LA Te Dahs does not do the Champagne Brunch anymore. I had the Beignets with the coffee cream was delicious and my wife had the quail scotch eggs. Very good and the service was very good!

The ambiance of the place is fantastic. The food was not. We dined here for NYE and had an over-priced, fixed-menu meal. The salad was bland, the steak was okay and the gnocchi was boring. I've had worse, but I've had much, much better.

    (2)
  • Daniel M.

OK, first of all I will easily admit it may have just been our menu selections did not appeal to my tastes. Based on the food, I could only give it a marginal rating but the overall experience was nice and service was good. We had the calamari, sliders, scotch eggs, wings and chips. They were all basically ok but nothing really stood out as being exceptionally good...you know, those items things you come back for over and over. I am certainly willing to give it another shot and will provide an update to this review. I will make sure I read the other reviews to see exactly what we should be ordering.

Nice neighborhood pub. Most people will miss it and wont even know its just a block off of Duval. Fine by me! Happy Hour. 430-630. FREE BACON on the bar! Let me say it again. FREE BACON on the bar! To hell with the popcorn and nuts! Wo-hooo! Here we go! We have visited a few times. Small but neat place. Lots of funky little things to see if you look around. Bartender Jen was amazing and engaged everyone like you were old friends. She's cute as hell too so I guess that doesn't hurt! We have had a few things from the happy hour menu. Wings- not typical.. They were breaded and not quite done enough for my liking. Scotch eggs. Cant describe, just get them. Also had an order of peppers which were interesting. I also witnessed a ton of burgers coming out. Looked very tasty and well prepared. No complaints about this little joint. Friendly, relaxing, and fun. Better then the usual places this close to Duval. Another new favorite stop.

We came in for happy hour. It was a little quiet and not many people. For happy hour they had a great selection of snacks. We got the wings (amazing), artichoke dip (also amazing), and calamari (decemt, breading was bland but the sauce was really good). The drink situation was a lot of fun. For each drink we ordered, we rolled a di. If it landed on 1, the drink was a buck. A 2 = 2 bucks. 3 = half price. 4 - 6 = full price. Combine drunkenness with gambling? Yes please.

Recommended by concierge at Westin but we were extremely disappointed. The food took over an hour and our meals were sub par and overpriced! Burgers were hard as a rock French fries undercooked and the "duck" nachos had no duck. Steak was bland chicken had mystery seasoning. Do not come to this place. It would've been worth it if prices were 2 cents.

Out of the restaurants I've dined in Key West this one stood out the most. It's a great place for good food with local seafood. The staff was comforting and understandable of the customers body language. The dishes that stood out was their appetizer with asian style fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce with the chicken being marinated in oyster sauce really made the chicken very flavorful. This food has multiple influences of asian, middle eastern, and american cuisine.

Good service, good food. Cool space down an alley. Had bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer, big shrimp, tasty dipping sauce. Daughter had sliders, she loved them. Wife had fish tacos, they were so good, she didn't even share. I had a burger and it too was very flavorful. Only pet peeve is they serve cocktails in those tall skinny glasses, those suck, get rid of them. This place is definitely worth trying.

We have been to 2cent several times. Great and creative appetizers, but somewhat inconsistent as far as preparation goes. Shishito peppers burned black sometimes, but nicely charred others. Fun heirloom radishes, but would be better with a bit of chewy whole grain bread to really set them apart. Green beans pretty good. Delicious veggie pasta, can have gnochi without pancetta, great seafood stew and the fresh fish is usually well cooked - not overdone. Great burger, and variety of specials that make it worth gioing back more than once. Pandora music cchoice would be better for lunch - a bit too enthusiastic for dinner. Small and intimate atmosphere, and the servers have always been attentive and helpful. Off Duval which is always good if you want to dine and be away from the craziness. We are almost residents who come and go, but return to 2cent each trip to KW since they have opened.

My wife and I went here on a recommendation from a fishing charter captain I used earlier in the day. 2 Cents is located just off of Duval Street in a little alley, so it may be a little difficult to find but it is well worth the trouble finding it. I had the caramelized brussel salad and the roasted bone marrow - great options for those eating primal or paleo. Both were amazingly good with good portion sizes. The bone marrow is on the small plates part of the menu but the combination was perfectly sized for a great meal. My wife had the blue cheese pancetta burger and she loved it also. What I found very unique and the best part in my opinion was their cocktails. We were seated inside near the bar, and as we were waiting for our food to arrive I watched the mixologist prepare some drinks for someone else. Turned out they were Bullit Rye Old Fashioned's and he truly made them the old fashioned way - it was great to watch and even better to taste. I ordered one myself and it was fantastic. Highly recommend 2 Cents for both the food and the drinks!

We came for happy hour. Went back to our B&B for a rest and then came back for dinner. The staff is great. Rolling for your drink at happy hour is really fun. BACON in little buckets is amazing! We met some nice people from Raleigh since we were sharing a table. Lots of fun! Dinner is pretty good. I dont remember what we had. I remember it was pretty good. Its a good casual choice for dinner.

Finally a good restaurant in Key West! It's a bit pricey but definitely worth it given the good food and wine selection. We ordered the following: Kale salad with tomatoes and a light vinaigrette and anchovies. It was really tasty and light. My sister thought it was a little on the salty side because if the anchovies but good nonetheless. The mussels were awesome! They were cooked in a slightly spicy coconut curry sauce with tomatoes and bit of spinach. Some of the shells were closed and pieces were found in others that were open (only happened to me three times and my sister twice). Hummus that was mild on tahini and came with triangle pieces of pita bread. Eggplant with spaghetti squash. The downside on the eggplant was that it was fried. It would've been nicer, and healthier, if it were grilled. We also enjoyed glasses of Malbec and Pinor Noir. Overall, the ambiance was great and the service was really nice. The outdoor seating is spectacular because it's in a really cute space decorated with small Christmas-like lights and wooden furniture. I would recommend this place to people looking for a more upscale joint with good food and drinks.

My partner and I visited Key West for a week, and after touring a good portion of all the happy hours here, 2 Cents was our favorite. I was surprised to learn that a chef from a James Beard's winning restaurant set up shop here in Key West. But as soon as you look at the menu and get some happy hour food, you can tell this isn't exactly a place with boring oysters and conch fritters. The jalapeno poppers were a particular stand out for us - we even got a second helping because they were delicious fried goodness. We got a good portion of the happy hour menu to try out, and it was all tasty. The drink situation is kind of fun for happy hour - you have to roll a die to decide how much your drink is. If you're lucky and roll a bunch of ones, you'll be drinking pretty cheaply. However, if you roll a four or five or six, it's full price. The drinks I'm talking about are premium drinks, not the rail drinks that everywhere else has one happy hour, and I really appreciate that aspect. I only went to 2 Cents for happy hour, but I certainly would return to try out their dinner, even at full price! For reasonably good and cheap food in Key West, this was our best option.

Really nice atmosphere and I do love their concept of hh. Rolling a die to get half of a drink is always fun. The cocktails were good and they have a pretty good selection of wines. I love bacon so for them to have free bacon that they just hand you is really awesome. We ordered the sliders durning hh and they were really good. It is a fun place with not many tourists which was nice.

Everything about this place was spot on. We actually got there about 45 mins before close. So we expected to be rushed by the server. Not the case at all. Ordered a few beers and a couple small plates. Which included truffle fries, candied bacon, and a plate of bone marrow. Clearly no complaints on the above. Can't wait to swing back in.

Underwhelming. Had high hopes but we left after our PEI mussel appetizer and a drink. Not sure if mussels were fresh as they were gritty and were smelly. Sorry! Would come back for a cocktail though.

So was looking for somewhere to grab a bite before 11 , called and they said they were definitely serving food until 11 . The minute we walked in the bartender was rude . We sat down and the waiter who I will not name was so blatantly rude it was ridiculous. Clearly he wanted his shift to be over . He rushed us out of there so fast my head was spinning , and the place is so over priced it's crazy , really 14 bucks for hummus and 9 bucks for stupid fries , no thanks I'll pass !

This place was so fun the first time I came here. They have free bacon during happy hour, yes! They also have the potential for great prices on drinks as you roll a pair of dice to determine how much you will pay for your drinks , fun! Until you roll for full price. The second and third times I came here were not so fun. No smiling friendly bartenders. They won't even let you near the bar if there are no seats, a little ridiculous. The third time, bacon was hard to come by and the bartender was just plain rude. We ordered wings which we're heavily breaded with the sauce on the side. I prefer mine saucy and unbreaded. We also had the mestballs, which were meh and kind of cold when they arrived. This place is tiny. The service could be much friendlier and more helpful. The bacon and dice rolling are really the only redeeming qualities of this place. I'll skip it on my meet keys trip.

We've eaten at 2 Cents twice now and both experiences have been the same.....wonderful! The atmosphere is great. Very trendy and fun. Lots of large murals and fun custom light fixtures. I was surprised that we were able to get in so quickly and easily as we did this time. We were seated as a party of six as soon as we arrived. The server was friendly and prompt. He explained the day's specials in great detail and in fact, 5 of us had the catch of the day fish tacos from the specials selection. All of us ordered cocktails which were delivered very quickly. They certainly weren't weak either. When the food was delivered, the fish tacos were beautifully presented and were loaded. The fish was cooked perfectly. Not undercooked and not dry. There was a selection of items on the side such as jalapenos and salsa to spice them up if desired (which I did). As far as pricing, it is very reasonable (especially by Key West standards). Two of us ate and had two cocktails each and the tab came to just over $65. This is a location we will definitely continue to visit on vacations in the future.

I don't throw out 5 stars all that often but this place was so frigging good I had little choice. First, stop what you are doing right now and order yourself the wings. Then crush the entire order and order another one. Do the same for the truffle fries and finish it off with a Royale with Cheese. Do this and you will have the same exact experience I did all in about 30 min. Wow that place was good. I'm going back right now.

Don't be adverse to this restaurant being down and alley and next to a store called "Leather Masters." We went to the Sunday brunch. Food was really good. Portion size for the price was a little high (only got 4 Jalapeño poppers), and not including any sides with the Eggs Benedict was a little disappointing, but a nice environment on a nice day. Seating is outdoors (with a net overtop to protect from falling objects. We do have to go back for the free bacon happy hour though.

My sidekick/wife and I stopped in here on our "off-Duval" pub crawl. Our bartender, who hails from Buffalo, was kind enough to make us some cocktails before closing up shop. This was on the top ten list of bars on the Guardian.com website.

Such a cool laid back atmosphere. Went there for lunch a few days ago when we were in town for a short time. Had fries, Brussels sprouts and those crazy meatballs! Service was excellent and the food was exquisite. Will be stopping in frequently. Well done

The bartender was a lovely bearded man and the bacon happy hour was spectacular. The happy hour appetizers were not your normal boring fried bar fare - this is a place with authentic classic specialty cocktails alongside new inventions and interesting and delicious food.

2¢ is second to none in Key West! It's out of the way and unassuming. If you aren't looking for it, it's easy to miss. Do not miss out on this! I loved everything about this gastropub. It's mainly outdoors, with a gorgeous patio dining area that's tastefully decorated. It's dog-friendly, which means fun for the whole family. It's staffed by friendly and competent servers, something that's always appreciated. Last, but not least, the food is phenomenal! I will say this, I would skip the burger next time. I got one with pork belly and it wasn't what I was expecting. It was tasty, but I don't think it was worth the price. Honestly, though, that's the only thing close to a complaint I have about the menu. - 2¢ Wings are kinda pricey too, but delicious and different. - Quack Quack Nachos are tender and decadent. - The Sliders are a good way to go to get your burger fix. - The Shishito Peppers are a must! - Jumbo Bacon Wrapped Shrimp were incredibly plump and tender. The BBQ Sauce didn't take away from their natural flavor. If nothing else, stop in for one of their handcrafted cocktails. I highly recommend the Moscow Mule. Ginger and citrus go very well with warm weather. Come here expecting to pay about $60pp for a full dinner with drinks. I regret nothing.
