Disgusting food and service. I got just a burger no bun it was so small I was still hungry, mom said her chicken tasted like fish. The person taking our order said she asked us 10 times if we wanted the meal. Ft Walton Beach/Destin Whataburgers are the bomb!

I went to the Whataburger on Beach Blvd many, many years ago and while it was ok, I wasn't all that impressed. Seemed to me at the time it was just average - but I liked the concept. Fast forward to now - I have passed this one on Normandy weekly and decided to try the franchise again. I just ordered a la carte, off the menu, one burger with the fixings of my choosing, along with fries and a drink. When I arrived home, about 10 minutes later, the burger was still almost too hot to eat, so I nibbled on the fries. They were really good - but unfortunately, once they cooled down, they were just average. The burger on the other hand, was outstanding. I know the term "steak-burger" is rather over-used, but that was the first thought I had after I tasted it. It seriously had a delicious grilled chopped steak taste and not the average ground beef one. All the fixings were fresh and generous and the bun was definitely high quality. I truly enjoyed every bite of that hamburger. I cannot imagine how anyone could pass up this place and go to a McD or BK after trying one of these. The Whataburger price is comparable to the other's "higher end" burgers, but the quality far surpasses them. As the Terminator said, I will be back. ;-)

First off let me say that I'm a big Whataburger fan. Unfortunately, my experience at this particular location was awful. I was in the mood for a burger before work. I arrived at this location at 7:50 am. At 8:06 am I was told that my order would take another 10 minutes. I was told that they were running behind. The funny thing is there were only two cars in the drive thru and one other person inside. This was so ridiculous. I asked for my money back and left. I will never go back to this location. STAY AWAY!

My dining experience did not have me shouting the namesake. ;) First off, if value is more important to you than portion control then don't bother getting the Jr selections because the regular/full size is just $1 more. I wished I'd known that prior to ordering. In that case I would have got 1 full size version and saved over near $3.50. I had 2 Jr Monterey Melts (1 with texas toast) & and large onion rings. This cost $11.84 (see my pic). Frankly I would have been better off going to 5 Guys and been more satisfied and spent less $. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with my meal, it just wasn't "all that" particularly for the price and a 35 mile round trip. The burgers were just ok, barely. I was dissappointed given the expectation I'd drummed up by seeing pics of the Monterey Melt. It looked "oh so" good in the pics but the taste didn't measure up. The onion rings were pretty good but should have had a greater quantity for a large. This restaurant is in a good location though you have to go navigate through a busy parking lot, anchored by Publix, to get to it. I went through the drive-thru which was quick and efficient...no car was ahead of me. Well in summary: Meh. I've experienced better. I certainly won't be going out of my way to go to Whataburger anymore...in fact I'd go to any of the other major chains ahead of here. I first went to one in TX over a decade ago and another time or 2 here in Jax. To my recollection I had greater satisfaction on those previous occasions. My WAB experience was not wt* but it's nothing to exclaim the namesake. LOL!

I love Whataburger! Especially after a night of heavy partying. It fills the belly like OJs hand in a glove. The amount of grease really soaks up the alcohol perfectly. Two words, bro: Spicy Ketchup. I could bathe in this stuff if they would give me more. I subtract 5 stars for their stinginess. The fries are average but when they're hot and perfectly salted (omg) they are orgasmic. I love the "all you can drink" here. I drink so much Diet Coke here. It's really worth the price. It more than makes up for it for me. I add 7 stars for that. The manager here is wild. He's the most obvious coke head I've ever seen. He gets confused when you give him your order, and I swear the veins in his forehead are going to blow. I subtract 4 stars for this. But, hey, I watched him do a bump off of a toasted bun.... So, I don't know. Plus one star for the most insane thing I've ever seen? In closing: eat whataburger. It's delicious. So much grease. Drink a ridiculous amount of soda and watch out for coke head managers. Yum Total score: 5 - 5 + 7 - 4 + (?)1 = 4?

Living in NC....never had Whataburger. On a recent trip to FL thought I would try it since I was in a rush. Pretty good burgers, seemed a little more authentic than your McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's burgers. If you go try the spicy ketchup, not just your average ketchup.

You know you have a problem when you are checking spirit air and hoping for $9 airfare just so you can fly to a city and eat a burger. This burger really truly impressed me as did the guy behind the counter who was almost as excited as me to have someone come in that had never tried these heavenly burgers. I cant really comment on the sides or the drinks, just the burger which wiped the floor with any other fast food burger (or restaurant burger) i'd ever had!
