Great sushi! I got the small combo and it was amazing. The waitresses were great and helped me pick out my order, as well as kept my beer coming and water full. I was in town for business but if I'm ever in the area again I will come back. I also saw a ton of people coming in and getting take out, so obviously they are well known by the locals.

Order the kamikaze wings and a few rolls. The wings had very little flavor, the complimentary soup had no flavor (it was basically hot water with some mushrooms and fried tempura batter). A lot of their rolls had cream cheese in it. It took me a long while to find rolls without cream cheese. The prices was very reasonable.

Excellent nigiri sushi, salmon roll, Japanese roll, and a chef's special roll with white tuna (escolar) and spicy tuna. Service was prompt and efficient. Yum!

This place is GREAT. Cheap, authentic, not so greasy Asian food. My favorite is the vegetable fried rice because the vegetables still have flavor. So good. I pick it up on the way to the airport. Such a good find!

Went here because of reviews. Some reviewers raved about this place. I question their exposure to really good sushi. The sushi here is ok. Don't expect anything special. By the same token, it was not bad. The prices are very reasonable. Service was good. I would grade it as a safe bet if you need to get your sushi fix.

The place was quite dark. Couldn't see the menu. Maybe its just my eye sight. :/ Small place. A lot of sushi menu. Ordered crunchy tuna and spicy tuna and something strange from special roll. It was cucumber rolled with spicy tuna and crab meat and avocado. It was OK. Not bad for strange roll... Pretty filling too. The server was OK. Attentive . Price was normal like all the other sushi place. Doesn't really stand out compare to other sushi place not own by Japanese. They all the same to me.

I just had dinner at Wasabi. At the end of my meal I went to the rest room to wash my hand because I spilled some soy sauce so my fingers were a bit sticky. The door was unlock so I entered to find one of the sushi maker urinating so I said I am sorry and told him he should lock the door next time and I waited outside the door. The door was still slightly open and in less than 5 second he exited without washing his hands and told me that it is now free for me to enter. It was my favorite place to go for the past month or so but I do not think I will be back

On our way to the airport, we wanted to grab a bite to eat before we took off and ended up eating way too expensive airport food. We are rarely on this side of town, but when we are, we love this place! We ordered two of their specials... spicy girl (I think) and ugh! Why can't I ever remember the names of these rolls!?! Anywho... they were both amazing! We've never had a bad roll from this place. We also order a couple of beers, and my honey's bottle was chipped and a piece of glass was in his mouth! OUCH! But, they took it and replaced it right away. If you are in the area, STOP HERE! You will not be disappointed, promise!

Another good experience! I had a 3 roll sushi lunch combo I've been here plenty of times & the food had been consistently delicious & the service has improved also. Great Lil place in a great & progressive area - RiverCity Marketplace.

The sushis were amazing, I just wanted to order more and more. I was sitting at the bar in front of the 2 chefs, which were very friendly and tried to make the best out of their english in order to make my evening more enjoyable. Too bad the waitress was rude, unefficient and with the IQ of a sashimi. She would probably be more useful in a roll with avocado and shrimp

The food was good but the service was horrible . Not really sure what the problem was the place did not seem super busy, but the servers seemed confused and stretched thin.

I am a big sushi fan, but I have to admit I prefer the Americanized version over the purist sashimi. And because of where I live, Wasabi is where I come most often (At least 3-5 times per month). Depending on the time of day or the day of the week, the service is either exceptional (Monday's @7pm) or loud , harried and hilarious (Friday's @7pm). First and foremost, the shrimp sauce is to die for. Some places can put to much of the bitter parchment flavor in it, but Wasabi puts just the right amount of sweet to it that complements the sushi. And we all know that shrimp sauce can make or break a Japanese restaurant. Have no fear on that account, you won't be disappointed. Wasabi also has the best clear soup I've ever had, hands down. I have been to at least 15 other sushi restaurants and none has the clean flavor that this does. The tempura batter pieces in the soup are always crisp, and the green onion to mushroom balance is perfection. My boyfriend usually get 5 rolls to split between the two of us, plus an additional vegetable appetizer. The grilled vegetable appetizer is not on the menu, they have the tempura listed, but they will make a special order of just vegetables as long as you specify appetizer and not hibachi. My favorite roll is the Sakura, which is shrimp tempura and cream cheese wrapped in rice and seaweed, then topped with a crab/crunchy mix and shaped like a triangle. For the deep fried tempura-style rolls, I recommend the Baymeadows (Salmon, cream cheese, crab) or the Pacific. My boyfriend loves the Volcano roll, which is a California that has a grilled crab and surf clam topping with black sesame seeds sprinkled on the top. I am a stickler for presentation, and when they are not terribly busy, the sushi chef's go all out! I have posted pictures on fb of some of the artistry, like a crab cut out of a zucchini, a butterfly sitting on a post from daikon, and a garden of carrot lotus blossoms. So this is my all-time favorite sushi place, it's small and comfortable, and the flavors are perfect for my taste buds!

My favorite sushi place! Several "bests" of Jacksonville! 1. Best shrimp sauce 2. Best clear soup 3. Best ginger dressing 4. Best fried soft shell crab 5. Best fried rice 6. Best green dragon roll I love eating out and this is my favorite local restaurant by far. There was a time when we were here 5x a week until my hubby finally declined to go that often. The service is always very good to excellent (fast and friendly), and so is the food. My usual order are the items above, plus hibachi scallop, and I usually go during lunch (11am-3pm) because the entrees are smaller and therefore cheaper (about 40-50% off dinner entrees). Don't believe the naysayers, they're probably written by the competition. I've been a regular customer for almost 8 years and I'd continue to go with my family (unless they change their recipes and customer service)

I ordered the dragon roll and fancy roll. I tend to be a bit bias being from California but I must say this place was pretty good. The place was kind of dead during the time I went but the sushi was good enough that I would come back next time I'm in Jacksonville

Wasabi sushi house over on the Northside is a pretty decent place for sushi. I like to compare them to Sushi Cafe in riverside taste wise. Their sushi are priced averagely, just like any other sushi houses in town. However, I believe their sushi rolls are a little bit bigger than some places. I've never had a problem here. Fresh sushi, and very good service. I just wish they would let some sunlight into the restaurant because it always seems to be VERY dark inside. If you are looking for sushi in the Northside area (airport area) this is the place to go.

Fresh and affordable, me and a buddy ate for under 50 bucks and left feeling like kings. Seriously, very fresh sushi and good presentation. Its in a strip mall which is typical for Florida and the restaurant is very dark, but nothing takes away from the food.

Came here with a bunch of friends Friday night. I was very impressed. Prices appear to be average for this type of restaurant, it was clean inside and smelled good. I did not realize soup was included when I ordered my dinner, so when the waitress said "Miso?", I said no, thinking she was asking if I wanted soup. Then, miso soup was delivered to the table and I was served the "clear" soup. Wow, great mistake, seriously, because if I had known, I would have asked for Miso and I am so glad I didn't. The clear soup was one of the best soups I have had in a while. Very flavorful broth with mushroom slices, scallions (green onions), and little crispy tempura bits. My friends laughed at me for going "Mmm" at almost every spoonful. It was simple, but delicious. We also received something along with the soup that we couldn't identify. It seemed to be something like a deep fried spring rolls perhaps? Not sure, can't find it on the menu, but it was very good. My friends all ordered meat & rice teriyaki type entrees along with sushi, but I had the Small Sushi Combination (Philly roll, California roll, Rock 'n Roll). Yeah, I'm still cautious about raw fish and this suited me perfectly. It was all very delicious and I enjoyed every bite. A friend ordered an "Air Force Roll" and shared and that was quite delicious too. The service was good, the waitresses were friendly and helpful. One warning though, if your drink runs low, every single waitress in the restaurant will stop by and try to refill it. I finally had to get a refill (that I really didn't want) to stop them from asking. It was quite funny actually. I really enjoyed this place and hope to have a chance to go here again.

My girl and I were driving home to Detroit, Mi from Bradenton, FL. We had both been craving Japanese for a few days, so I hopped on yelp while we stopped, and found this little gem. The shrimp fried rice was awesome, the shrimp even had sesame. The crab Rangoon was not as crispy as I'm used to, but I think I like this style better. The Philly roll was delicious, and everything was reasonably priced with prompt service. If were ever this way again, I know where to stop!

I can only give this place 2 stars as my husband ordered the shrimp tempura dinner and got the appetizer. Then I thought they were making it up to us by giving us some free fried rice. Got the bill and they charged us for it. Then the server argued that we got the lunch portion and only charged for appetizer. App comes with 3 shrimp and we received 3. AND I had asked server where soup and salad was. Food was good but really bad service. They made a mistake and then blamed us. Plus on Sunday they do not serve lunch. So ur kitchen served lunch portion on accident???

5 Star Food, Seriously The service and atmosphere left some to be desired, however. I ordered the miso soup, but had the clear soup brought to me by a different server. No sweat off my back as it was delicious. But my server brought the miso a few minutes later and gave me some attitude about accepting the other soup. As I was there solo, I took a spot at the end of the sushi bar so I wouldn't take a table meant for a family. But, behind me, two of the employees were eating. One was slurping loudly and chomping away with mouth fully open - a little disgusting to hear while eating. The other was on the phone, quite loudly, the entire time, and even reached directly over my head (twice) for napkins while still talking on the phone. She could have simply walked 2 ft to the other side of the bar. Just pretty unprofessional all around. This will not keep me from going to Wasabi again - probably just an isolated event. Honestly, the sushi was delicious.

Food was okay, but the sushi wasn't very cold. Service was attentive but very rushed. Handed me my check and I wasn't even halfway through my meal.

went for dinner last night with family and family friends. It was a worse experience bad customer service sushi place ever and the most salty miso soup that we ever had last night. It was very miserable dinner, we not satisfied to what we paid for the dinner last night and sorry i highly not recommend this place....

Excellent clear soup. Excellent prices - not just compared to others at the airport but compared to anywhere. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food makes the difference.
