V Pizza Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

The pizza is adequate. It's certainly not amazing. It's barely good for this category of pizza. There is no way to justify a $17 price tag for a 12-inch pizza (it may have been smaller than 12 inches). I have had more tasteful and filling experiences at Carmines and Moon River for $6 (includes a drink). The top price should be $10.00, at the most. Really, I think it should be less. If I was paying for atmosphere, heightened service or fine tableware then maybe...but none of those elements exist. The atmosphere is fast-casual. The service is Panera-ish. The tableware is paper. The parma is meh as is the fresh mozzarella. Although, the mozzarella di Bufala is a much tastier option. Go with that if you plan on visiting This is my least favorite aspect of Jacksonville. When business owners do something just a bit better than the rest (Franchise Pizza) the price is increased to something beyond the value. At least, and obviously, in my estimation. A shame, I love this style of pizza. One of my favorite places to eat is Antico Pizza in Atl. I was hoping V Pizza would fill the Jacksonville void.

This is the best pizza we have had since being in Italy. The sauce is truly as I remembered it. Unbelievable. The meat calzone was made with sausage and fresh mozzarella. Delicious. And the chicken wings are a MUST!

We always sit next door at Sidecar and get drinks and order pizza from V's. It's amazing and the calzones are crazy good. I like the wings but my husband doesn't. Great place!

At the request of the manager, I decided to give V Pizza another try. In a nutshell: Food was awesome Service was friendlier, but still self service Processes still need improvement. We ordered 2 Strombolis, a personal pizza, 3 drinks, and 3 cannoli. Total bill: $71.86. It's great food, but it's expensive. The Strombolis were the best I've had. You still have to get your own plates, silverware, napkins, etc. Kind of a downer when your paying 30% more to eat there. There were two girls at the front register this time; both were friendly, attentive, and uniformly pretty. A marked improvement, especially over our last experience there. They never brought our cannolis out, so I went and asked them for them...three times. They finally brought them out, and have us an extra one because they forgot about us. All in all, the food is still great, even better, the service at the register is better. It's pricey compared to others, and it's self service.

Love, Love Love it. Best pizza in Jax. It's crispy and thin. Love the spicy ones!!

    (5)
  • Brian K.

Had the Stromboli and it was delicious. Originally this was going to be a 3 star review because we waited 45 minutes to get our order, but I decided on a 4 star because the staff did everything they could to make it right. After 30 minutes we were brought a free round of beers. Cool. Once our food came out it was great, best Stromboli I've had. As we were finishing up we were brought a free order of wings. Awesome! Just when you lose hope in customer service, these guys made it right. And those wings, delicious! If it wasn't for the wait, this would be a 5 star visit.

I was waiting to post my review to see what other people thought. The pizza was good. The crust was good just needed a tad bit more salt. Their ingredients are fresh fresh fresh and they are gooood ingredients. Quality ingredients. Their staff needs to well versed in their product and how to help me as a guest on how to order. Or be able to answer the questions I have. Knocked a star for that and knocked a star for the awful decor. Your quality ingredients do not match your hospital cafeteria photo stock photos. We're always in San Marco and like your hours so we'll for sure be back.

  • James T.

They changed the bread on their Panini's and they are nowhere as good as the old one's. It now looks like a junior Stromboli, it's much smaller and the texture and flavor don't compare!

Best pizza in town next to the best bar in town. Great atmosphere and the staff goes above and beyond to make it an excellent experience every time! The wings are the best in JAX

  • Alexandria B.

My husband, son,and I go here at least three times a month. We love the pizza it's so light and delicious. We like the simple margarita pizza. It's fresh and made with great ingredients! My husband also plays for Armada FC and he's decided this is his go to place after games since it's open late! I also can never say no to a cannoli from here! So good!!

    (5)
  • A D.

My first visit was average. Prices are a tad high, no plates or napkins given like other reviews is weird. Second visit they charged us $12 for a $8 dessert pizza then $10 something for a $8 panini before tax! When their menus were not corrected nor did the guy say anything before ringing us in. He then had to ask the manager or whomever if he could give us the menu price!!! Were they hopping we wouldn't notice? Would be drunk? We were SO pissed. But we were hungry and wanted a drink at their bar (even though we were tempted to leave). The dessert pizza was good, but the panini was more like a sub and not good. Trying to rip people off they should automatically get 0 stars. It will be hard going back to the bar knowing the bar is the same business. I would have to be pretty desperate to order food again and want everyone to be aware of their prices when ordering food.

The outside (IMHO) does not do the inside of this joint justice. I expected a place like resembles a sports bar and this is not the case. The atmosphere is open and clean with a friendly staff. You can eat at a high top table (family style) or at a regular square table. The soft drinks/tea are self serve. They have a projector showing a game on the brink interior with no sound. The music is a variety of Italian hits and it's not too loud. They have a small grocery section as well as a display of salads/desserts. The pizza had great toppings and the crust wasn't too heavy or filling so I didn't leave feeling like I only consumed bread. Also- their special oven cooks your pizza lightning fast! We will definitely be back!

  • Ava L.

Hands down, best pizza I've ever eaten. The smell when you walk in is smack your mama good! Such a cool concept with the open kitchen and rustic floors. And thr music... superb! I can't say enough about this place. Love love love it and will def be back!

  • Joe A.

Opportunity visit & not disappointed! Wasn't sure what to have so asked for advice. Superb recommendation. Was in early so not too busy. Not the cheapest pizza I have ever had but really good, definitely back with the family soon

I have dined at V Pizza several times over the past year, and I think that it is some of the most authentic Neapolitan pizza I've had. Their pizza's thin crust is light and crispy, and the ingredients are top notch. The pizza is best enjoyed on site due the nature of the thin crust. If you take it home, it won't quite be the same. When you walk in the entrance, there is a window for viewing the dough room. I haven't witnessed the dough being made yet, but I noticed that the Hobart mixer was replaced with a Made in Italy model. I guess that's like trading a Harley for a Ducati-a definite upgrade in my book. If that isn't a testimony to their dedication to authenticity, I don't know what is.

  • Michele R.

I am Italian and a Yankee from N.J. And let me tell you that I feel like I am home when I eat at V's. Every time my husband and I stay in San Marco we are there at V's. The crust and the sauce (gravy, as we call it in south jersey) is just as good as my mom use to make. All fresh ingredients and no long wait due to the special clay ovens.

  • Dennis S.

Great service and great food. We go atleast once a week from work. Pizza is good. Salads are always fresh and plentyful. But the chicken wings are AMAZING!!! Highly recommend.

  • Gary P.

Very disappointing. Order at the counter? No plates for your pizzas? Pre-prepared salad? ChuckECheese for adults? Stay with carry out.

  • Hanada O.

Ordered pizza's to take home because heard so many people talking about this place. Not good at all! It was pretty much flavorless no seasoning at all. The only good thing was the fresh spinach but it was very bitter. There are plenty of pizza shops all over town. Pizza Palace is better than this place. I don't think we will be back. Save your money and go somewhere else.

  • Cassie M.

My husband and I ordered a margarita pizza. It was $14. I was underwhelmed by the size. It was small for the price. It was very good. It needed a little salt, especially in the crust. We ordered a sfiagitella. I'm almost positive I spelled that wrong. Those are amazing!! Tasted just like they did on our trip to Italy.

    (3)
  • Hudson B.

We had the best pizza in town today! It was like I remembered when living in Naples, Italy... V Pizza is authentic Italian pizza. Also, the wines are good and a great price.

    (5)
  • Jonathan T.

Really fresh toppings and tasty dough! Two people can split one pizza and be pretty stuffed. I love this place.

    (4)
  • Michael S.

This is easily the best pizza place in jax. The pizza dough is excellent. The cheeses are all really great too. The bursts sale was delicious. They have really good service too. It's quick and easy.

  • Laila S.

Definitely recommend this spot! We had a salad, pizza, and wings, all of which were fabulous. The service was great; the manager checked on us several times. Our food came out very quickly as well. This is a great spot for families, too!

  • David F.

About 6 months ago my wife and I went to V Pizza, it was terrible and I wrote an appropriate review. I was invited back to give them another try and although I was skeptical we returned. To my surprise it was all I was hoping for the first time. We brought another couple (who's Sicilian) and we're from NY, so we know good pizza. From the wings to three different pies we ordered everything was delicious. The sauce, the crust, the toppings, all quality ingredients and great taste. Definitely now a place I will return to, I'm glad I gave them another chance.

This place blew my mind. Their service was on par. Their atmosphere is pretty cool. The pizza came out quickly and was of high quality. Favorite things: the mozzarella Di bufala they use and their pepperoni. Highly recommend this place. Buddy and I shared a $15 pizza. Perfect amount of food before we go beer tasting.

Best pizza in Jacksonville. Fresh ingredients and a great crust. Service is fast and friendly. The industrial look and the music provide an excellent ambiance. The very personable chef went from table to table checking on food and service. I live in St. Augustine, but my friends and I will definitely return with additional friends and family.

    (5)
  • Amber A.

Pretty darn good. Good prices, moderate value, friendly service, and efficient. The crust has a nice char and it's fun to see your food cooked. It's very noisy in the brick loft environment, and very casual. A good place for a quick bite. They have some nice looking salads too, and the desserts are worth the calories.

  • Andy C.

Heard a lot about v pizza , with the good reviews out there gave it a try. On a Sunday afternoon only 3 tables being used, thought that was odd with the good reviews. For 4 of us we ordered 2 calzones and a pizza(they come in one size) and 2 sodas. Total bill $60. The food I have to say was just ok. We all had the feeling that once will do us here, sorry. Tried to order the Nutella pizza and at first was told they were out of strawberries. But would make us one with bananas only instead at a discount. Then they said we are out of bananas, so could not make it. As for the saying it is better than Chicago stuffed pizza,We all said no way. Give me the Chicago style any day.

  • Matt B.

The girl at the counter was really polite and friendly. Now, I'm a pizza guy. Red Baron to Mellow Mushroom. Its hard to make a bad pizza. I heard they were opening a 2nd location at the beach, so I figured they'd must be good if they're expanding. I got the lunch special. Personal 2 toppings 12" pizza with drink for $9.95. Not a fan of the burnt crust. Ingredients tasted fresh and I trust they know what they're doing, but I've had better. I might go back, but I won't tell you to stay away because...what the hell do I know?

  • Lauren C.

This place is amazing. I had the margarita pizza and the paolo pizza. Not only that, but the people were so nice. As I walked out the door, one of them yelled "Bye Lauren!" I will definitely be eating here again, and often. I've been 3 times in 3 days time. So happy Jacksonville has a place like this.

Great food with quick service and super family friendly. Ordered the picante pizza and wings and they were excellent and a good proportion. Have my son a ball of dough to play with at the table while we waited. Highly recommend this place if you are ever in Jacksonville.

My husband and I decided to try the new V Pizza last night. We ordered the Pizza al Diavolo - which is san marzano tomato, fresh mozzarella, habanero, pepperoni - but we ordered it with the bufala mozzarella because my husband is not fond of the fresh kind. Now, my husband and I are NOT Wimps with the spicy food, we put chilies or hot sauce on everything and we order things Thai Spicy or Indian Spicy, etc etc. My husband took his first bite & was immediately choking due to the spiciness. My slice was a little milder but then my second slice, I got hit and was crying, sweating, lips burning, wow, it was spicy! We had to take a break between slices to let ourselves recover to continue eating more. The habanero does not come as a topping like a jalapeno does. The habanero is pureed, seeds and all and then mixed in with their tomato sauce. I would HIGHLY recommend them removing the seeds before pureeing. We ate the whole pizza, took us about 45 mins to do that, ordered a side of marinara to help us out (which they provided free, thank you). This pizza should be a challenge. We should have been given a t-shirt saying "I survived the Habanero pie". This pizza is NOT edible for anyone who can't take the heat, hell, just order it as a dare to your drunk friends after a long night in Sidecar. Watch them cry, laugh at their expense, enjoy your evening, do not eat! We will go back, try another pie, and then add all the red pepper flakes to our liking. The Pizza Al Diavolo will not be eaten by us again. WAY too spicy that it cannot be enjoyed. Therefore the 3 stars. I *Think* they bake a good pie, I just lost all my tastebuds when they burned off with this one. Perhaps an update when we return. ---Oh, there were no paper plates. They now have metal pizza pans you can use to eat from.

Fantastic! Wonderful job on the pizza! I'm from NY and this place got it just right. Staff was super friendly and they got me in and out super fast. A lot of places make pizza but I won't waste my time trying other places but they are great. It's nice to find a local pizza place that I can always rely on. I'll see you guys soon!

Went to V's with some coworkers the other day and was pretty impressed. Seems to be in a renovated warehouse, tables are near the wood fire ovens which is cool. I had a make your own personal pizza with sausage and pepperoni, ate every piece! Love how it's not greasy, and I liked the crust. Some people said it was bland but I guess I couldn't tell since I had a lot of meat and tomato sauce on the edges. I will be coming back!

  • Shawna N.

Probably the best wings in Jacksonville and I'm quoting my boyfriend who has tried about every wing place in Jacksonville. The pizza is amazing too and because of the way it's cooked it comes out super fast. It's pretty much self serve but everyone's always been friendly and efficient. Really great food and experience all around and the attached bar next door has some pretty killer cocktails!

Let's start with the very few negatives. The parking lot was hard to navigate and isn't paved. For such a large building, parking will be a problem on busy nights. The only other negative...and this is a stretch...is price. If you like gourmet pizza, you'll probably find what you want listed. But, if you are looking for a more American pizza fare, you'll pay $13 plus $1.50 a topping for a medium pie. As a casual lunch spot, this place is great. It's unbelievably fast. The staff is friendly, and since they were pretty slow when I went, I had about 6 different people check on me. The pizza comes out less than 5mins after your order thanks to V's 3 custom made, 2.5 million dollar EACH??, pizza ovens. The taste is unparalleled. Straight from Nepal, this pizza is the real deal. I loved being able to see all the ingredients, which carries their urban decor. This place is pretty far from me, so I'm not sure I'd make the drive, but I'm happy to support this new Jacksonville business. Downtown is sure to welcome this place with open arms. A great pizza experience

Great food, the prosciutto sandwich was delicious and oddly enough, great chicken wings. Would have given it another star except the tomatoes they use as toppings are kind bland as opposed to the tomatoes in their sauce which are quite flavorful.

Let me start by saying V Pizza opened less than a month ago, so some of the reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm sure they're still working out some kinks. Another important thing to note is that V Pizza is a FAST CASUAL restaurant. You order at the register, and they bring the food to you. It is not fancy, and there's no table service. I think many people expect it to be more like Pele's Wood Fire, which also serves Neapolitan-style pizza. That said, my personal experiences have been outstanding. I was fortunate enough to go to a tasting just before it opened the the public and was able to try eight different pizzas. I loved every one of them (OK, I didn't love the Hawaiian, but I hate pineapple so that's on me), especially the margherita, bianca and capricciosa. Pizza-style bruschetta was tasty, as were the wings. My second and third experiences were just as positive. I've heard some people say that the crust is tasteless, which is probably due to the minimal ingredients they use (I think it's just flour, water, yeast and salt, but don't quote me) and that they are trying to allow the ingredients--which are super fresh--to be the stars of the show. Another "complaint" I've heard is the ambiance. If you walk through the door on Hendricks Avenue, you come into a hallway with bathrooms and have to walk through the dining room to get to the register to order. A friend described it as looking like a cafeteria with fluorescent lighting, which I wouldn't necessarily disagree with, but I'm there for the pizza and don't really care about the lighting. Angelo, the pizzaiolo capo (don't know his real title but he is the boss of the pizza making), is AWESOME. I could listen to him talk and tell stories all day long. Florio and Derek are also great. You can tell they love their jobs. P.S. Coke products are served.

Heard from a friend that V Pizza just opened today ... so we had to check em out. A solid 4.5 stars! Since we had already eaten dinner, we decided to grab some dessert. We tried the Veloce Pizza Dessert which had nutella chocolate, banana, and strawberries. What a perfect blend - the warm dough and crust paired with the sweetness of the chocolate and fruit. It was a full size pie (12 inches) so it was plenty enough to share. They also have beer and wine ... so of course I had to down an Intuition Pale Ale. They have lots of different pizzas that we'll be sure to come back and try ... the Margherita, the Al Diavolo (I love spicy), and the Bolognese. They even have Roasted Chicken Wings that also sounded delicious. The ovens cook at 1000 degrees, so the pizzas literally come out within a few minutes. So this place would even be a good option for a quick lunch. The "Sidecar Bar" is set to open tomorrow ... Can't wait!

Lunch was delicious and quick! We had the lunch specials - caprese panini and meatball panini! Fresh ingredients were amazing!

Had a sneak peek of San Marco's latest spot, V Pizza (and neighboring bar, Sidecar -- also set to open in late May). The pizzas cook in a 900+-degree wood-burning pizza oven, making them come out hot and delicious in a matter of minutes. I sampled several but the Pizza Capricciosa with San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, mushroom, proscuitto, hardboiled egg, artichoke hearts and extra virgin olive oil was the standout The simple Pizza Margherita -- San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozarella, a little basil -- was also a hit. The crust is nice and sturdy, but not too thick and the pizza are not greasy at all. Others I sampled were on the bland side. You order, pay and sit, which makes it easy. Pricing is standard -- calzones are $12-15, pizzas (including build-your-own) are $13-$16, wood-oven roasted wings are $12, and so forth. Prices are a bit steep. V offers beer (with two local drafts from Intuition Ale Works + Green Room Brewing) and wine. The atmosphere is extremely spacious and industrial -- high ceilings, exposed walls and ceiling/air-conditioning ducts -- and is on the louder side. The desserts were delicious and among the several we tried (cannoli, tiramisu, limoncello and ricotta and the italian cheesecake) the cannoli and tiramisu were favorites. Great spot for lunch, after work, or dinner. Welcome to San Marco, V Pizza.

  • Renda H.

Well I will say that the service is super fast due to their fancy pizza ovens and you can tell they care a great deal about the quality of the ingredients but the atmosphere is way too casual and loud for the high prices! We ordered a pizza and a salad and 2 drinks it was like $30 and we were not even really full...but the food tasted really good and the service was very friendly so if you don't mind a loud room as far as music and people talking go and check it out! p.s. if you live on southside go to Picasso's pizza on San Jose instead!!

  • Sriram T.

V Pizza offers great pizzas at a decent price for the quality of ingredients and process. I've eaten here four times and am yet to be disappointed. Their lunch specials offer better value for money. I recommend the pizza al diavolo which is quite spicy!

Fantastic! 1000 degree pizza cooked in an old fashioned Italian style oven. Wings are some of the best ever!

  • Bill H.

Went today and shared a pepperoni pizza with a co-worker at lunch. Thankfully, we beat the crowd and got one of about 8 private tables. The remaining tables are of the community type (not a big fan). You order at the counter when you arrive and within a relatively short period of time, a super delicious pepperoni pizza was delivered to our table. Now the pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven, so they are done fast with a bubbly, charred crust that is delightful. Very tasty sauce, fresh cheese and quality toppings make it worth the trip. This was my third visit here and I have been quite pleased each time.

  • Jessica J.

The most authentic pizza I've had in town. (Make your own) calzone was fantastic as well. They have vegan cheese, which is terrific for me, and which means I'll be frequenting this place - and it was more of a substitute ricotta than the typical Daiya mozzarella that most pizza places with a vegan option use, and I appreciated the new taste. The atmosphere is no-frills, but the food more than makes up for it. Even my glass of chianti classico was fantastico. We'll be back, early and often.

  • Lee S.

This is the best pizza in town. Love coming here to eat. We have had pizza in Italy and it's just as good if not even better. Everyone is always extremely friendly when we go there. The pizza is extremely flavorful. The location is ideal too. So if you want a good pizza, calzone, or even Stromboli try V's pizza. It truly is the best place to eat. Thank you V pizza for taking the time to make such great food with quality ingredients. Keep it up. Don't change. To those that say this place is not good I say go to dominos, papa johns or even Pizza Hut. Maybe that is more to your liking since you don't know what good quality pizza is.

  • Jack B.

I was not impressed that it was the best Pizza I had ever had. It was OK, the salad was not impressive, and the staff really remind me of the Moon River staff, where they may not always see that there are 10 people waiting in a line and it might be a good idea to get more people to a register to help out. The only thing keeping them from being 2 stars is that they care connected to Sidecar which is awesome!

I have seen the mixed reviews for V. So I was in the area and hungry. I will say that the parking is better then I imaged it would be. The place is brand new and sparkling clean. It is also very big for the building. There is a lot of open space that in my eyes (I'm a builder) could have been used more efficiently. The long hallway in and to the restrooms is a lot of square footage. But anyway the seating is a handful of tables and a couple of long family tables. It's a new thing and very popular now days. I ordered the calzone with 4 fillings and a drink. I was a little shocked at the 22 n change price. Let's see what I get? My calzone was a good size and it was well cooked. The outside crust was nice and colorful and had some really crispy spots. A good thing in my book. It was also thin crust another plus to me. The filling tasted good I did like the sausage thou it was on the milder side. I like my sausage spicy specially Italian. The main downfall for me was the amount of ricotta cheese. I know a calzone base is ricotta and mozzarella. But where was the moz? It was there just not much of it. So in all it is a good place and the meal was fair but not worth the money to me.

The best pizza, hands down, that I've had outside of Italy. I have family from Naples, Italy that swear that this is as close as they've gotten to real Neapolitan pizza. Everything is fresh. The wings are also amazing. Only regret is that I don't live closer.

The art of pizza... The pizza was delicious and authentic. Great open floor plan with plenty of parking and space. The interior building out is interesting and resembles a warehouse feel. Try the desert pizza; surprisingly tasty. Fun, casual atmosphere. A must try for lovers of true Italian cuisine.

  • Bridget R.

The pizza is good. I was only disappointed because I asked if they were personal sized. The girl at the cashier said yes. I ordered two. I thought it was pricy for 2 personal pizzas. But I'm ok with a trendy place and experience. They are not personal sized. I feel like we wasted $15 since we are staying at a hotel and no room to put the extra pizza in the fridge.

Such a fun atmosphere ! Amazingly ordinary pizza and cocktails. James, one of the managers went above and beyond to make my experience there memorable.

DELICIOUS. Great oven baked, thin crust pizza. Great ingredient list. Super list of pies. Love the cheesecake and cannolis. Late night service. Stromboli huge and delicious. Dank lunch specials fill you up big time. Can take food to Sidecar next door, which is killer. Eat here late night while drinking at Sidecar.

The BEST pizza in town, hands down. Everything they make tastes so fresh and so authentic. Grab a beer to sip on while you wait your food. Sometimes it takes a little while but trust me, it's worth it.

Authentic handmade pizza love! I'm from Buffalo, NY originally and we take pizza seriously. This place is serious. Great sauce, terrific crust and high high quality toppings. Thanks for the deliciousness. Next time I'm in Jax I'll be back.

Best pizza I've had outside of Italy. Incredibly fresh, authentic ingredients. Informal, fun environment. Had the burratta salad - magnificent fresh mozzarella with roasted red peppers, tomatoes, and arugula - then an incredible pizza, and a side of meatballs. Food takes little time to arrive, is delicious, and service is friendly - they make you feel like family.

I was really excited for V to open. I had high hopes it would be like one of the great pizza joints in Miami. Before V opened I stalked their location and menu online. On paper, everything sounds great. Unfortunately, I was severely disappointed. I ordered a Pizza Insalata and a Pizza Bianca for dinner with a Torta di Ricotta and Cannoli for dessert. My biggest problem with the pizza is the crust; this crust is tasteless. In fact, the crust is a reasonable facsimile of matzoh. Maybe if I had a pizza with a tomato-based sauce the crust would work, but with the two white pizzas, it didn't work. The torta, from a bakery in Brooklyn, NY and the cannoli, which was piped with a delicious filling when I picked up the order, were the best parts of the meal. One suggestion: omit the maraschino cherry from the cannoli, I didn't check, but they appear to be the kind loaded with preservatives and artificial colours. Sadly, V Pizza was a complete miss for me, and I won't be back.

Pretty good pizza, although the gluten free crust always comes out darker than we prefer.

I had an amazing first experience! The chicken wings were amazing and it was hard to pass up the look and the smell of the pizza, but it was a great decision. I did speak to another table who ordered the pizza and they had the same kind of response "amazing ". I look forward to returning for the pizza in the very near future. Oh, and there is a cool little bar attached to the place which also was very nice. They have a decent liquor selection, but needs to work in the bourbon in my opinion. I will hit this place up the next few times I'm in town to make sure I work my way through the menu.

The pizza is just okay. There's nothing about it that would make me say, "Wow, I'm craving V Pizza." It's not that it tastes bad, there's just nothing about it that sets it apart from the crowd. The bathroom situation is weird too The staff is nice. Much nicer than the staff next door at Sidecar. All in all, I'll stick with Carmine's Pie House or Mellow Mushroom.

I'm still sitting in the restaurant as I write this--I couldn't wait to get home because I am so impressed. We walked in and ordered a Carnivora then had a seat. 15 minutes later a pizza was brought out to us, but it was the wrong pie. They brought the Paolo(mushrooms, prosciutto) on accident. Within 3 minutes they brought over the correct pie and Terrence asked us if we wanted to keep both--we were happy to oblige. He asked if it was our first time(it was) and if we would like to try their wings as well. In a few minutes 4 roasted wings covered in a sautéed onion sauce were delivered, and wow! We loved these wings. The pizza ingredients are top notch, and each slice has some of everything(no deadbeat slices). The crust is thin and easy to eat. The pizza isn't the biggest, but it shouldn't be when you are using ingredients of this caliber. One pizza(8 slices) was plenty for the girlfriend and myself. The staff is friendly and attentive, and made us feel welcome. Stop eating whatever chain pizza you keep ordering and get over to V Pizza.

The food here has definitely grown on me during some of my visits next door at Sidecar. I have never actually been in the V Pizza side but I love that they server all the customers next door too. The wings are definitely different but in a unique/good way. The pizza is better at this location than at the Jax Beach location (based on my personal experience and preference). All in all I can appreciate the freshness of the ingredients that V is using.

Pizza on Easter? Why not? This was a last minute decision after leaving the movie theatre in the Regency area. I met a friend over there and we parked behind the building. Yes, there is extra parking behind the building, not to mention it's also where the entrance is. The lot is small but we both found a spot. It seems others had the same idea as we did. I was already full from lunch but I conceded to getting dessert. I really wanted something sweet. My friend was hungry for dinner and he decided on getting a pizza. I told him I'd help him eat it. Of the desserts, I chose the Mousse Al Cioccolato or Chocolate Mousse if you will. Man oh man, Chocolate on Chocolate! Delicious and homemade. My friend decided on getting the Pizza Paolo: tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto, olive oil, and mushrooms done Neapolitan style. The pizza was very good, so good I didn't take a pic hahaha. I would say better than Pele's. I enjoyed the open warehouse-y feel with the big screen tv and the ability to watch your pizza being made in the ovens. I'll definitely return for more.

V Pizza makes authentic Neapolitan type pizza that originated in Naples, Italy. Their pizzas are made from simple, all-natural and fresh ingredients. There is often more sauce than cheese leaving the middle of the pie wet and soggy and not conducive on being served by the slice. Neapolitan pizzas comes in 10-12 inches and they're thin. It's a medium size so if you have a big party, you're going to have to order several pizzas. I know it's an authentic Neapolitan pizza, but I cannot enjoy a wet and soggy, thin crust pizza. Also, the pizza we ordered was brought to us at almost room temperature. It's just me, but I like my pizzas the opposite: deep-dish with lots of cheese, crispy, and hot out of the oven. I did enjoy their chicken wings, but pricey for a 10-pc at $12.

I had the opportunity to eat at this place last Saturday. I was explained the difference between Napolitean pizza and NY pizza. The styles are different, so I understand now the way V pizza made its pizzas. I tried a pizza loaded with sausage, and other meats. Overall, it was better than the pizza that I tried before. I thank V pizza for giving me the opportunity to enjoy a complementary pizza. I had wings too, but again is a little hard to appreciate your wings when one has only American style wings. They were good, and my friend Jimmy liked them as well.

Yes and Yes! I loved this place the space is big and open, some individual tables and some community tables. Attached next door is Sidecar their bar...you can order pizza and they will bring it over to you on that side i believe. But the food tho!!! Dang the wings were so good, and this is from a pizza place...they were big wings roasted(?) tossed in Italian seasonings with sauteed onions on top...they were delicious! Then the pizza soooo good....nice thin crust baked bubbly with real chunks of cheese and gourmet toppings, I just loved it!! I will deff come back here when craving a pizzza. Only down side it did seem a bit expensive with wings and pizza costing around $30, but the quality was worth it.

I would give 5 stars solely based on the fact that I generally do not like pizza. My husband begged that we should come here after we saw a review of the restaurant having progressed. So a few months back, we came and I was already dreading yet another "pizza joint." Mind. Blown. The wings were out of this world (which made up for the one type of selection), and our pizza was full of quality everything. We got the Carnivora and you could taste every ingredient. I was worried it would be all crust like most places. Definitely surprised me when I found it was the perfect combination of crust and toppings (for me). We don't go to any other place and always get the same thing from this same location. Never disappointed!

We went to V pizza tonight for the first time with our family. They have excellent chicken wings, I was impressed cause i don't normally really like chicken wings much. Also their stone grilled pizza is pretty delicious. It was a fun place to go and good food. So I'd rate it as a success.;)

Waiting over 30 minutes for pizza to go when told 10 minutes and paying $40 for 2 small sized pizzas was not really worth it. The pizzas might have been good, but can't figure out how the bottom of the crust was barely done and the top edges of the crust were so burned they tasted like charcoal.

I went to V pizza for the second time last Sunday. After being disappointed the first time I really enjoyed this visit. The PIZZA PICCANTE was probably my favorite. We ordered three and shared in our party of 6. I also really enjoyed the ability to walk over to sidecar and get a cocktail and bring it next door to enjoy with my pizza.

Last May, V Pizza launched in San Marco much to the anticipation of pizza lovers all over town. I waited a spell while the "growing pains" were worked out then made the trip with a friend. The result, possibly the worst pizza I have ever experienced. Flavorless, bland just nothing to make a pizza lover happy. Domino's can deliver better to my door and I can stay in my PJ'S. Regardless of the finest ingredients, 00 flour imported from Italy, San Marzano tomatoes, fresh cheeses, the 3 massive and I must say beautiful ovens imported from Naples that burn at an amazing 900 degrees necessary to get the true experience of Neapolitan pizza this pie sucked. Now almost a year later, V Pizza has finally delivered what was promised. New chef, new recipe and a dedicated owner who did what was needed to turn everything around. We started with the oven roasted wings, think of smokey crispy goodness, cooked as only wood can, to bring the best out of any dish with just a hint of sweetness. You will just savor the true taste of chicken. Next the pizza.Pizza Ensalada; Arugula, Burrata Cheese, Cherry Tomatoes, Shaved Parmiggiano, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Everything about this pie is spectacular. The dough is now as it should be with the correct balance of salt and criisp. Next up the Pizza Rustica; Sausage, San Marzano Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella, Broccolini, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil, my kind of pie, large hunks of zesty Italian sausage, and the perfect amount of EVOO drizzled over the top. Again the crust is the star of the pie. and nicely absorbs the San Marzano tomatoes. For dessert we sampled the Cannoli and the Limoncello and Ricotta. There was nothing about any of this food that was not of the utmost quality. I have to commend the owners of V Pizza for listening to the public, and making it their mission to correct the issues that plagued them early on. As must go night spot for all the family.

Three stars for two reasons...the joke of a salad for $8 and service. If you're getting upwards of $20 for a pizza you should have someone there who at least pretends they are competent and enjoys their craft. Don't get me wrong, I've paid much more for pizza and been ecstatic to do so. You can't put all the energy into premium ingredients and methods only to waste it on missed or blown opportunities with the customer. I tried a salad and was a bit upset. Again, I'm good with paying $8 for a protein free salad, but at least show off the ingredients you do put in it. The salad was prebuilt so it's not like they were in a hurry and missed items. The roasted red peppers were like looking for a needle in a haystack. Red peppers are $30-$35 case right now through your produce warehouse! There were a couple mushrooms worth of slices, dry, pre-shredded carrot, a few julienne cuts of onion and a measly 2-3 oz portion of dressing. Cmon! The pizza was solid. We tried 2 different and were happy. The Calabrian wings were good as well. You must provide a complete and thorough experience. I left missing that.

These guys seem like pizza perfectionists and I'm so okay with this. While I generally see the pursuit of perfection as pointless, at V Pizza it just fits with the pizza they are making. They use only San Marziano tomatoes, awesome! The pizza dough flour is ground to the finest powder possible resulting in a light, soft yet crisp texture. I can't even describe it. It's the type of pizza you can keep eating and not feel overly full from the dough, so all the spectacular toppings are the main focus. I ordered the Pizza Bolognese, so SO GOOD. Lots of tomato sauce, tender mozzarella, and gently spiced ground beef on a light crust. Pizzas only come in one size, so that's a bit difficult to handle unless you have a huge appetite or can share the pizza with someone. As a single diner I took more than half a pizza to go. As much as I love leftover pizza, I still think a personal or kid size pizza is needed on the menu. The place looks like a small industrial warehouse with big ovens and large suction fans behind the ovens (couldn't help but think this would be a great workspace for Walter White and Jesse Pinkman). Some people have written in other reviews that the space was too much like a warehouse and not a restaurant space. I have to disagree. The lighting was subdued and it's nice to be able to view the area where pizzas are being made and baked in the big blue ceramic ovens. Really enjoyed this place, it's much more stylized than the average pizza joint. Check it out if you're in the neighborhood!

Fantastic pizza, with multiple options. Brick oven fired pizza with burn marks on the crust. Have never had a bad pizza or experience there. Fantastic desert cannolis as well if you have a sweet tooth, and nice salads to balance out eating Ana entire delicious pizza.

I love V Pizza. Everything they have is delicious. My favorite is the picante pizza as well as their meatballs and sauce. Yum. And their chicken wings are great as well. The flavor of their food is superb. All of the staff are very friendly and our food was delivered to our table quickly. Their pizza is authentic Neapolitan and unique. Very very good food. No other Italian place in Jacksonville is like this one.

  • Eryn M.

I really like V Pizza. It's very quick and reasonably priced. I like that there's one size of pizza, and it's plenty for two people. We ordered the Pizza Piccante: san marzano tomato, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, hot peppers, extra virgin olive oil and added mushrooms. It was quite tasty. We ordered at the register, got our drinks and waited maybe 10 minutes for our pizza. Maybe. It was very quick. The only thing I would improve on is real plates instead of paper. But that's pretty nit-picky. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The decor is sparse but nice. The desserts and salads looked amazing as well. The lunch looked a little pricey, but it's hard to get lunch for less than $10 anymore. I will definitely be back.

The flavors coming out of V Pizza are incredible. The pizza, salads and desserts are unique and delicious. I do have to say that while the quality is just as wonderful as day 1 the quantity is not. Prices have gone up and sizes have drastically decreased.

V Pizza is a great pizza joint in the San Marco area. There are huge wood fired pizza ovens like you would see in Italy and they have a pretty extensive menus of pizza pies, wings, salads, and desserts. They serve wine and liquor in V Pizza or you can head next door to Sidecar for their full liquor bar. The pizza we had was really really good with a great blend of sauces, meat, and cheese. The salad that we started with was good to pair with the pizza. I've become somewhat of a pizza junkie lately and V Pizza definitely satisfied my craving!

V's has amazing pizza , probably The Best Pizza that I have ever had . We had meatball and pepperoni and the crust was awesome !! Also try the lemoncello dessert so light and delicious . Definitely a place to check out.

I've been here twice. First time I had a meatball sub which was ok. Today I had the vegetarian pizza and a side of chicken wings. Both were amazing. But super big kudos on the wings which are served with sautéed onions on top which are sweet and with a taste of rosemary. The family lived it all! The wings are cooked in the wood fire pizza ovens. Enjoy!

After much review, I finally had a meat calzone and I must say it was delicious full of meat sausage and pepperoni just enough cheese for me to totally crashed my Paleo diet is well worth the venture. My wife stay true to her diet having the salad and meatballs. In the future I need to have the wings again, it's been some times I've had them and they're just delicious. Oh yeah don't forget the desserts they make a gluten free brownie thats out of this world

Fresh ingredients, wonderful taste, a bit over priced. If you're willing to pay for the true tiled-oven pizza, then it's totally worth it. I wish they delivered, or that I lived a bit closer. Great value when you share the pizza with friends!

As a 'Foody' who's worked in the industry for just over 2 decades and ACF Member, the awesome Ovens, highest quality Sauce does not match the canned veggies. It's clear my version of 'High Quality' differs from V's in that to me, High Quality means ACROSS THE BOARD high quality by using fresh: - No canned Olives - No canned Peppers - No cans ! ! !

Some of the best pizza I've had in Jacksonville yet. I like to go to side car the bar next to the place and drink. Then order some food from side car and eat in the bar with friends. Definitely one of my favorite spots. Haven't tried the one at the beaches yet, but this one is good. The pizzas are a bit pricier than you would normally pay, but you're also paying for a better pizza in my opinion. I had the - PIZZA CARNIVORA Sausage, Soppressata, Pancetta, Red Onion, Roasted Garlic, and San Marzano Tomato - and i loved it. Ate the entire thing myself besides 2 pieces which I gave to my friend.

Pizza V gets another star from me. The owner reached out to me and offered pizza on the house if I tried them again. I don't get to Jax often but I would try their pizza again. He also clarified that the ham is always added to that pizza after it cooks. I appreciate businesses who listen to their customers and care about what they have to say. Kudos to the management!

This is a funny looking place that makes very good pizza. I found my way to it's back door after waiting a long time for one of Jacksonville's infamous trains to pass. I had no idea I was walking into a Euro-style restaurant that had an awesome little bar known as the Sidecar (great craft beer taps). Though I was intrigued by the way the huge place was constructed and thought that maybe the siting map had been upside down, the proof of the venue was in its very good and fresh pizza. Noting how close it was to Aardwolf brewery, I could have easily had a whole one for myself. I am looking forward to trying this place again.

I'be been going here for lunch for about 4 months now and I haven't found anything that wasn't absolutely delicious. I've had various pizzas but the pizza picante is the best. It has just the right amount of Pete. I've also had the panini's, Stromboli's and the chicken wings. Everything is delicious and very authentic tasting. This is hands-down the best pizza in Jacksonville.

Oh my goodness was this a fabulous find! I came out for the Bold City pops and Sally Ann Boutique pop up. Was recommended to try their traditional wings and Pizza Piccante. The wings were to die for. The char from the oven and carmelized onions on top were amaze-balls! Where to begin with the pizza, crust was crispy and just right. The combo of pepperoni, sausage, and chili paste was great. I will be back for more!

The pizza and other food here is great! I enjoyed the salad, cheesecake, and especially the pizza. The place has a really trendy vibe but the seating is mostly communal so it's great if you don't mind having dinner with strangers.

V pizza has quite frankly pulled off the unthinkable. They've gone from 1 star quality to 5 star quality in less than a year. I originally reviewed them a week or two after they opened and it was some of the worst pizza I've ever had. Over the last year they've completely reworked their recipe and changed chefs. Amazingly it's now some of the best pizza in town. They use all premium products flown over from an organic farm in Italy. At this point I'm a big fan. They're definitely worth the trip down to San Marco to give their pizza a try. I also thought the wood fire baked chicken wings were great.

I recently returned to V Pizza after a fairly long absence. I had heard that they improved their pizza so I decided to give them another try while I was in the area for an event. I'm glad that I did. I got another margherita pizza for comparison to the last time I was there. The crust tasted a lot better this time (they clearly added some salt) and had a slightly better texture. The tomato, cheese and basil were of good quality, as they were the last time I was there. It was a tasty pizza. Some friends of mine accompanied me and got some sort of meat pizza that they seemed to enjoy as well. (I'm a vegetarian so I cannot vouch for it personally.) It was not particularly busy when we were there and the service was fine. It did take a little bit of a long time for someone to take our order, but I think this was reflective of a staffing issue, not with the staff themselves. After all, one person can't be in two places at once. The man who took our order also made our pizzas, so I think that he was there by himself, at least when we got there. More employees came in while we were eating. We got our pizzas in a reasonable amount of time and they were hot and made correctly, so no complaints there. All in all, I was happy with the changes that the management made to the pizza recipe. I will be happy to return to V Pizza the next time I am in the area and have a hankering for some tasty pizza. If it's been a while since your last trip to V Pizza, it is worth it to give them another shot. You may be pleasantly surprised!

  • Alan S.

The pizza is a little pricy, but it's pretty good stuff. The best part for me was getting to watch them make it. It's not the best pizza I've had, but it's pretty good and very fresh. It's kind of a weird style place in that you order at the counter and then do everything else yourself, i.e. drinks, napkins, pick a table, etc. (though they do bring you plates and the pizza). I'd go back, but not until I've tried some other pizza places in the area first.

Their pizzas are so delicious and innovative, if innovative pizza is a thing. Really reasonable lunch specials, and excellent music every time you walk in, like a Scandal soundtrack. I love that it's adjacent to Sidecar -- makes for a very pleasant drinking/dining experience.

Delicious, authentic Italian pizza! Their vegan cheese is delicious, the veggies and crust are fresh and very tasty. It's connected to side bar, so next time I might get my pizza to go and eat it in side bar.

Went back for dinner again and thought the pizza was excellent this time. The crust had much more flavor. I asked about it and was to they added more salt to the dough. It really made a difference. The fresh toppings and outstanding service are still there. I consider this one oft favorite new restaurants and plan to visit them often. I would definitely recommend this place. Also, the wings are really good! I've never had any quite like them and my husband and I both liked them a lot.

I will preface my review by saying, the food at V's is, for the most part, great. Unfortunately - it takes way, way too long. Every time we have visited at lunch, it takes 20+ minutes for a pizza. This is unacceptable. The wait times are no better for wings or sandwiches either, so I've resorted to salads. It's even more confusing when after such a long wait, the food arrives 80% cold. I also found it a bit off putting when the waiter rudely dismissed by coworker by saying "ugh, we don't carry ranch" when she asked for it. While I was there, two other customers also asked, so maybe less focus on image and more on pleasing the customer? The pizzas are always wonderful, as are the wings and calzones. The bruschetta is not great - it's like bruschetta pizza - but that's the only thing I don't care for here. If they could work on expediting the process, I'd eat here once a week. But for now, the office discussion goes "I'd love to get V's, but I don't have an hour to wait around."

V Pizza is unlike "American" pizza. The thin, crispy crust is tasty but really more of a vehicle for the fresh, authentically Italian sauces and toppings. Since it's cooked quickly in a HOT brick oven, you won't have to wait long to start enjoying your pizza, and the servers and bakers are so friendly. You'll feel like you're having dinner with friends! Great food, great service, energetic atmosphere, moderately priced. Do yourself a favor and go!

Haven't written a review in a while so after reading some of the negatives, I thought I'd add my two cents. Having lived in Italy a couple of years, V has it pretty close. The sauce is as close to authentic as you can get. If you have not had pizza in Italy, then you have to be open minded. It ain't Pizza Hut over there (if your idea of good pizza is Pizza Hut, stay off of yelp because your an idiot anyway). Far better than Pele's. My only two negatives are 1. It's across the River, which means you have to be around the San Marconian elitist and 2. The Pizzas are Italian large...which is like US small. Other than that...love it. Just move it to Avondale/Riverside!

Out of a group of 8, nobody enjoyed their meal. For a restraint with valet parking and $15 a pizza, I should be able to hear the person across the table, eat off something other than a paper plate, and the pizza should be great. As for the pizza: utterly flavorless. The manager asked us about our meal and I alluded to the bland, chewy crust, which he waved off by saying they are members of an Italian pizza making organization that doesn't allow them to use salt in their dough. For future reference, I don't care about your credentials. If the food isn't great, I won't eat there. Pizza and atmosphere was sub par at best. Sidecar should buy the whole building.

    (1)
  • Stacie S.

Tasteless. When the manager asked our opinion, we were honest. He proceeded to tell us that it was because we are so used to processed foods with extra salt and preservatives. Um, no. He was a nice guy and I'm he believes in his product but he needs to hear his customers. The pizza had absolutely no taste. Certainly don't bring a date here as they serve the pizza on the cheap paper plates. Perhaps I could deal with that if the price reflected it. However, I can get a delicious pizza down the street in a nice atmosphere on an actual plate for the same price.

I was so excited for a good Neapolitan pizza place to come to jax. Wow, was I ever disappointed.. Maybe their pizza is "technically" Neapolitan, but it sure doesn't look or taste like it! The middle of the pizza is supposed to be soupy and wet-you should need utensils to eat it. My V pizza was dry and stiff-I could easily pick it up. The cheese was congealed. It also had no flavor. The few compliments I can offer are that the broccolini and sausage toppings on the rustica pizza were good. However, the pizza was most definitely not good. It was bad. Also, in Naples these pizzas are half the price. I would say that V pizza is too expensive, but why bother putting a value on something not worth eating at all?

  • Tiara H.

Not only was the pizza amazingly good, their customer service exceeds all expectations. I came to celebrate my birthday with some friends and had the Pizza Piccante which was just full of flavor and deliciously good. We ended the night with the crew wishing me a Happy Birthday and enjoyed Limoncello and Cannolis that were to die for. Everyone was very friendly and we even had the opportunity to meet the one of the owners! Great place, I'll definitely be back!

  • Fred S.

I would recommend that V's at least has plastic plates, glass wine glasses and softer lighting. The bright industrial look is overrated ( if anyone really rates it high). The pizza is OK, but not so great as to make you come back. There is no reason to linger over a glass of wine.

If you are from Italy, have visited Italy and had pizza there or grew up near New York and Little Italy, this pizza is authentic, and the thin crust is how it should be. I loved the Pizza Margherita and for dessert the Sfogliatella's were delicious. Glad a friend told me about this place.

Fantastic traditional pizza! My wife and I have visited several times. The Pizza Rustica was delicious. Coupled with a salad, it was more than enough for the two of us. Though the cannoli was amazing, the Limoncello and Ricotta is our favorite. Just a warning, if your a papa johns or hungry howies fan, V Pizza may not suit your tastes, but if your looking for real European-style you'll be satisfied. Great staff, minimum decor, getting better with every visit.

After traveling to Rome, I thought I'd never eat like that again in the US but along came this place! We had initially ordered the wrong pizza and the owners were at the table besides us and noticed that we were a little disappointed. He proceeded to explain that the pizza oven came directly from Italy along with all ingredients besides the meat. They took away the offending pizza and ordered a margherita pizza. Let me tell you...one bite into the margherita pizza and I was instantly taken back...O...M...G!!!! Please go ASAP!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
