I've been going to this sushi house for years. In the past I've had great service and the food was pretty good too. But my last few experiences were awful. The servers they have now have no idea what they are doing. The short haired Asian lady will argue with you about menu items and snatch the sushi menu from your hands. She was sitting behind us at a table stuffing her face while we waited for her. My boyfriend ordered a $10 roll and got 5 pieces. We both got clear soup and the lady brought it out without crunchy stuff in it. When I asked for it she said sometimes if you ask they can give it to you. I've never had to ask for it. I asked for the free appetizer and she had no idea what I was talking about and then changed her story to say that they only serve it sometimes but she has to ask the manager (I've gotten it every time I've gone there without question for over 5 years). When she brought it out, it has no sauce on it and I had to instruct her on what it is supposed to have on it. The sushi chef even yelled at her because she was arguing with us about it. Then she put a tiny bit on and touched our food with her fingers before bringing it back over. Our experience has never been so bad here but it has truly gone downhill since I originally started going to this sushi house. I truly do not recommend this place. Save your money and go somewhere else that cares about customer service and quality food.

AWFUL. I called for a delivery & ordered 4 rolls & a side of fried rice with NO vegetables (only egg & rice) & was told that it'd only be about 45 minutes which was fine. An hour later, they still didn't hadn't arrived so I called back up there & told them that I had been waiting an hour. I could immediately tell by the way the lady responded, that they had forgot the meal. But of course, they won't admit that they messed up so she told me that they were already on the way. Which was a lie, it took them another 20 minutes to actually get to me.....I was only about 6 minutes away. When the man arrived, he didn't even apologize for how late they were. He takes my money & leaves right away. When I check my food, ITS WRONG. & cold. They rice smelled like it was sitting there & had vegetables in it. & the sushi was nasty & tasted like it had also just been sitting there. Very disappointed & I will never order from here again. Wouldn't recommend Sushi House to anyone.

Not impressed! My boyfriend and I ordered water with lemons and it had no ice. Then we ordered two ginger salads and our waitress brought us ranch salads?! For dinner we ordered a Spicy tuna roll, dragon roll, and Fuji roll. All the rolls tasted really fishy. We could easily tell the fish was old and discolored. My boyfriend even thinks there was small bones in one of his rolls. The worst roll was the spicy tuna, it looked like fish paste. All in all not a good experience. We will not be back.

This is my favorite place for sushi for lunch. The tuna king roll is my favorite, like something you could get at a high end restaurant. They also deliver.

So the other night my boo wanted sushi for dinner but I wasn't really feeling it. He suggested this place in Mandarin and I was like, "Umm..old shopping plaza, tiny sushi place? Weird." BOY, WAS I WROOOONG! We sat down and I ordered sake and he a beer, then we were given a complimentary plate of veggie tempura.. yum! For other apps we got edamame and soups and salad- perfect ginger dressing on my salad, BTW. Who knows what sushi we got, but we got 3 rolls and everything about it was delish! The rice wasn't super wet and sticky and it wasn't dry and old either. Once we were finished, our check came with intricately sliced oranges, and wonderfully tart also. Such a nice touch! All in all this is one of the best sushi places I have ever been to. If you're in Mandarin, please go! You won't be disappointed. I'll definite be back soon!

This is my sushi place. The very sweet owner recognized me on my second time in, probably because of the expression of absolute delight on my face when going to visit. They have lots of fun specialty rolls, and everything I've had is yum. Every so often they give a fried oreo and a fresh cut orange as a dessert, and it's like a happy little food hug at the end of your meal. It's small and unceremoniously tucked in a shopping center next to a subway and a laundry mat. Like all good food here in Jax, it's a hidden hole-in-the-wall treasure.

Had a bento box! It included a ginger salad and soup, sushi, California roll, tempura, and chicken teriyaki. It was a lot of food but could have had maybe a little more chicken and a little less of something else. However, I am not sure what I would have given up if given a choice. All was wonderful. The servers were also great. Will repeat.

We have eaten a lot of different sushi places and decided to give sushi house a try. The clear and miso soup were great but the sushi rolls were subpar. With all the options in town There are better choices. We probably will not order again but the prices aren't bad, though sushi is not something you want to gamble with.

This place was EXCELLENT. Totally happened upon it by chance because the restaurant we were planning to go to was closing when we got there. I quickly found this restaurant on my GPS and contacted them to see what time their hours were and they eagerly welcomed us and even went as far as to let me know that they would stay open later if necessary. My friend and I were the only ones there when we arrived yet they did not lack in great customer service. The host even went as far as giving us free appetizers, tempura mixed vegetables, which was YUMMY. The sushi was out of this world. EVERYONE SHOULD TRY THE KING ROLL. The service was fast and efficient and the food was wonderful. My friend got the Chicken Katsu and a sushi world which was fantastic. I got the King Roll and the Dynamite Roll. Not only was the presentation of the food great but the flavors in my mouth were probably the best I ever had. The sushi chef and host and everyone else that works there are extremely helpful and generous and even the free slices of oranges they gave us after the meal were the sweetest thing I've ever had. Best sushi I've had in a long time!

This review is for their delivery, I've never dined in here. I got crab rangoon as a starter, the Florida roll, and the shrimp hibachi dinner. That was $30. Ridiculous!! You can't go wrong with crab rangoon, the roll was absolutely nothing to write home about, and the hibachi dinner was just weird... I got steamed rice with it? What? It was a decent portion of shrimp, but with lo mein noodles, zucchini and broccoli. And that's it. I'm sort of P-O'ed now that I'm thinking about it. The food tasted good but was a complete waste of money. Steamed rice with a hibachi dinner... come on.

We have been going to this sushi house location for over 7 years and have been consistently pleased with everything we have ordered. The sushi is good quality and the service is excellent. We frequently dine in and take out and have always had a good experience.

Really disappointed. I'm new to the area and wanted to try somewhere besides our usual, crazy sushi , so baby on the reviews that I read on here we tried this place. Unfortunately when we got there we were seated the waitress wasn't very personable but whatever. We ordered 6 sushi rolls and a plate for our kids she said they did not have a kids menu but we can order lunch menu for them. Our sushi came out and the kids food didn't. We were practically done with our sushi by time the kids food came out . The rainbow roll was pretty good the rest was just ok. Then finally the bill came out first they charged us for the miso soup and the salad which I have never been charged for that at a sushi place. we were charged full price for dinner for the kids food and when we said you had said we could have the lunch price the waitress told us oh there is no lunch prices. they did ultimately take off 4 bucks for the kids meal which was nice but my overall bill was $61. much higher any of the sushi places I've gone to next time I will probably try a different sushi place there are so many to choose from here in Jacksonville

So it's not much to look at. Because the front of the restaurant faces the western sun, the blinds are often drawn so you can't see in (or out). But the sushi is good and fresh says my wife. For me, their Hibachi is good too.

Went last night and was super pumped based off the reviews we saw here! The good: sushi was great! Well, the 1 out of 3 I ordered. The bad: server seemed run down and tired. Almost felt bad asking for refills. The ugly: this is where I begin! Every part of my fiancées order was wrong, late or missing. So, to start, the dumplings and soup she ordered never came. My spring rolls did, but that was it. 15 minutes later, a sushi roll of mine decided to come strolling out. Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic. But I ate alone for about 7 minutes. That's when her roll came out. With a problem. She asked for no "krab" and behold! It had krab. Another 3 minutes later, we had a krab less roll. She begins to munch. Let's catch up. I'm now done with my roll, and waiting on 2 other rolls. She just received her roll, but no dumplings or soup and that roll she got came out wrong and had to be sent back. That's when a couple at the table next to me complains about our very problem. Food coming out 20 minutes apart. Another 5 minutes goes by, and she finishes her roll. I'm still roll less. We decide to pay for what we are and be done with the waiting.

Being Asian and having lived in Japan for 5 years, I can be pretty picky with my sushi. So, it's a big deal that I'm giving this place 5 stars. It was a quaint, little hole in the wall kind of place, but it felt homey and almost authentic (most "Japanese" restaurants in the U.S. Are run by Chinese or Koreans). I drive by it every day to and from work and decided to give it a try today. The service was on point, nothing out of the ordinary or rude to comment about. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Pricing was reasonable and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered fried gyoza, which came out fresh and hot. I ordered two rolls and and a salmon hand roll. Once all that was done I ordered another salmon hand roll, because it was just so yummy. I will definitely be going back.

Yum yum yum Pretty good place. There was a chicken noodle soup situation that one of the people I was with had and they loved it! We had about 6 rolls for a couple people- very fresh and tasty. The baked salmon tempora was really tasty! Went there on a Saturday around 3pm and we were the only people in the entire place which was kinda fun! Cute little place! They have a cute tiki hut over the sushi bar.

Been here numerous times and it appears the standards at the Sushi House are slipping. The sushi and sashimi were ok, not great, which it has been in the past. Service was really off, although I attribute most of the issues to a new waitresses. The prices seem a bit higher than I remember but I could be wrong. Overall, we weren't impressed and will start looking at other places for sushi.
