Love Sippers! It's my favorite study place.. it's always pretty quiet with just enough people in and out. The conversation is always good and the staff is excellent! Try the Homemade Chai and the Chicken Salad on an Asiago Bagel yum yum!

We are Starbucks latte fans, but we need to give props to Sippers for their large no water, skim milk Chai Latte, only $4.15. Yummy! The staff friendly, atmosphere chill and the internet fast = good spot to work remotely. I saw a gluten free pb mocha muffin, may have to give that a try :D.

The best coffeehouse in Jax. Free wifi, wonderful people, and warm surroundings without the pressure to look and act like a hipster.

I'm a sucker for local coffee, and this place takes the cake. Not only do they make a mean cup of joe, but the friendly atmosphere is so inviting! When everyone on staff can remember your name, as well as your order, you're in the right place. I always make a pit stop in Jax when I drive through, just to visit Sippers.

REALLY REALLY weird vibe here. Good food, just weird. Location: If you are going East on Gate Parkway once getting off on JTB, you will see it a little ways down on your left at the end of a shopping center. Here is the best way to figure out where it is. There is a HUGE dip/pot hole in the road and you will almost bottom your car out, if you are going full speed. When you hit that, turn left, you are there. jaxfoodcritic.com/sipper… Food: There isn't a lot of things to order, it is a coffee shop after all. I went with a standard coffee with room for cream and then I added a Canadian Bacon, Egg & Cheese Croissant. Before I break down the sandwich, I have to say this place has an odd vibe. When you walk in, directly to your left, lining the wall are two long wooden benches. Not your typical southern deep benches where you can lean back and relax. These are the skinny type that almost make you sit straight up. Not inviting or relaxing at all. Not sure why they even bothered. The rest of the furniture and decor looks like it was raided from about 5 different estate sales. No real theme. There is a modern couch, then a whitewashed table, then country chairs, then an old piano tucked in the back. Just really weird. I didn't feel like this is a place where they want you to camp out for long. Back to the food and coffee. The coffee was hot and strong, very good. I don't know if they get their coffee from a local roaster or not, it's always a plus if they do. The sandwich was AWESOME. Maybe I was starving, but I think the sandwich was great. A good helping of egg, the cheese was tasty and the Canadian bacon perfectly cooked. The croissant was nice and flaky. It was great. Just look at the pictures, don't you want to bite into that thing? Extra: They had some religious sign out front while I was there, I can't remember what it said and I should have taken a picture. Like I said before with Angie's Subs, I just don't understand when super small businesses bring politics or religion into their business. It would seem to eliminate customers sometimes. Why do that? Sigh... The Good: - Great sandwich - Free wi-fi (you have to ask for the password) - Not crazy expensive The Bad: - Not a comfortable setting - Weird vibe

Best coffee on the Southside. Open 7am-7pm and they have a drive thru! Known for their homemade chai which is great but I love their Cuban coffee, sooo good. The owner is so friendly and always there. The baked goods are always fresh and delicious. I normally get a muffin and my husband gets a breakfast croissant sandwhich, they'll warn the muffins for you!! They also have lunch items but I'm never in the area at lunch time. This place is a little off the beaten path so it's easy to forget it's there but it's great to support local and it's a million times better than Starbucks so give it a try!!

  • I B.

Very nice owner, and the chai is the real thing (not the powdered crud). Every time I'm in town, I try to stop by. On a serious note, don't let the recent review trash this place, it's a small business with good products, they probably just weren't on their game that day. The lady who owns this place has always been nice to me when I got my chai here.

I've been to Sippers a couple of times and the only thing I really like about it is that it's a nice place to read or study. The atmosphere is better than the food and drinks.

I've been going to the nail salon next door for over 10 yeas which means you can say the same for how long I have been getting Toasted Marshmallow Frappuccinos from Sipper's. I love this place! The owner is the sweetest and all of her staff are equally adorable. I am a creature of habit and this spot never disappoints!

5 Stars for this gem! Walked in with a friend on a Thursday morning - it was very calm, slow and quiet. Quiet enough to realize they were awesome for having the Today Show on ;) When you walk in, the outside is modern and new - then the inside is like walking through a time warp. I felt like I was back in my grandparents home back in Middleburg. It was so warm and cozy for a southern girl like me. Sippers managed to create this comfortable environment without giving you the creepy old feeling. It was clean, tidy and intentional. For the food - me and my friend ordered a strawberry and white chocolate muffin. The two girls behind the counter were very attentive and helpful. They offered to warm up our muffins, but I think we were just ready to dig in haha. The muffins were so fluffy and perfect. They weren't super crumbly, yet crispy on the top just enough to give you that sweet sugary crunch. Also, the iced coffee we ordered was just right - can't complain, especially with 0.50 refills! They had options like smores and something else very sweet and yummy ha! We sat outside because the weather was amazing. They had a handful of 2-seater tables (but not like those itty-bitty kind, me and my friend both had rooms for a laptops so that's a huge bonus). The cherry on top? They had free wifi! The most adorable thing is their wifi password - but you'll have to go find out for yourself ;) Sippers is such a neat little place to go hangout, chat, do some school work, etc.. I'll definitely be going back for more muffins & hangout time!

Meh. This place is A-OK, as Yelp suggests. It's one of those large menu coffee spots, with many sugary flavor add-ons and breakfast food items. I didn't feel as if the coffee was special though. Sure I can add pumps of carmel flavoring to my coffee to make it taste good, but how does that make it different from a Starbucks? I'm not sold. I got a regular latte and a bagel breakfast sandwich. I thought both were fine, but I was not blown away. Service was friendly.

Awesome coffee house, very cute decor and items are all for sale. Breakfast sandwich are so good, made fresh. Hubby tried the Canadian bacon, egg, and cheese croissant - and I had to take a nibble! It was so light, buttery- perfect! We met owner Marcy and her son Steven (cutie!!). He suggested the Maple Cafe Au Lait for me and its a winner!! All the staff were welcoming and smiling. Slightly busy but still inviting. Much better than any well known chain. A must when in Jax - worth going out of your way but close to everything on south side. Enjoy!!!

I like coffee that is made in-house, and this place nails it. They make their own spiced chai, which is wonderful (I have it iced), and they have an iced flavored coffee of the day, which has always been good. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and they have a drive-thru! Definitely worth a try.

Great place!! Breakfast sandwich was delightful, hot chocolate was best had in awhile! Staff was helpful, cafe was interesting and fun to look at all interesting decor. Owner and son, Steven most helpful!

This is one of my favorite stops when I'm in town. Great coffee made to order with a smile. I drove 20 minutes to get here. I drink coffee all over the world and this is very good and a nice atmosphere.

  • Andi E.

Aside from the girl eating while she made MY croissant sandwich, my iced mocha was grainy and way overly sweet. There was no coffee in that cup, I took one sip and tossed it in the garbage, just horrible. Vibe is funky, menus all over the place, a little unfriendly..I don't do chains or the sludge at Starbucks but I'd rather that to Sippers.

Good coffee, great atmosphere, lovely staff and the best GF blueberry muffins ever! Definitely a better pick than Starbucks.

I've been here quite a few times for our book club and it's such a hidden place for Jax! Peanut butter chocolate chip muffin is so legit. I don't think they always have it, but it's my favorite thing there. You can make really interesting flavored coffees here, too. They are flexible.

Think perfect coffee shops exist only in romance novels and chick flicks? One visit to Sippers will undo that thinking. Marcy, the owner, has mastered alchemy by combining great products, staff, and atmosphere to produce pure gold.

A bit of a hidden gem! I try to hit locally owner coffee shops in place of Starbucks when possible (I wish it was something I was able to do more often!) so I first visited Sippers when I was a commuting UNF student. It's easy to miss exactly what they've got going on so I'm glad I took a chance on it! They don't have a ton of seating but it's a good spot to do some reading, working, or book club-ing. The staff is always friendly and I've enjoyed everything I've tried (they've got coffee, of course, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, etc). Don't forget they have a drive thru, which is always a nice option!

I decided to try this place when I was visiting my folks in Jacksonville. Being from San Francisco, I'm slightly spoilt when it comes to coffee, so I wasn't expecting a whole lot when I walked in here. To my surprise, the coffee shop is quaint, not overpriced and the coffee was great. I ordered an espresso with a little bit of steamed milk and it was very fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend this place.

Not your average coffee shop. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast and coffee is great. They have a drive thru as well.

I've gone here for 10 years. My first job was right behind here and it's always been so wonderful! Staff is always friendly and helpful. Coffee is excellent and so is the food.

My first time getting coffee here and it was such a cute place. So cozy. I would have stayed longer if I wasn't in a hurry. Kate, the barista, was so sweet. My Olay was great and I really enjoyed the homemade gluten free chocolate chip muffins. They have punch cards which is a really nice perk.

Love the friendly staff, friendly owner and friendly atmosphere. Their lattes are excellent, and the cinammon rolls are some of the best I've ever had. One of my favorite local coffee houses! They do it right.

A cute place to come and get work done, free wifi and a cozy setting. Oh and their coffee? SO DELICIOUS! They offer so many different flavored and varieties. The staff is so sweet and the owner is so pleasant and always makes an effort to remember a name. Their bakery items are so yummy too!

I'm an avid coffee and tea drinker and I stumbled across Sippers Coffeehouse-I am so glad I did! It's decorated with art and inspirational canvases (available for purchase) and has a quiet jazz music playing. There's comfy armchairs and couches and even some desks for studying. They have tons of options to fix every coffee drinker- lattes, cappuccinos, espresso, americanos, and more! Flavors include your standard chocolate, vanilla, caramel and hazelnut as well as English toffee, white chocolate, butterscotch, peppermint, maple, cheesecake, cinnamon and more! They also offer hot chocolate, lemonade, italian sodas, and juices for those not so hooked on coffee. I personally had a cheesecake latte and loved it. The staff is super friendly and willing to help, especially if you're a new customer to Sippers. I stuck around and got some studying done. It's a very friendly, calm, quiet environment. I will definitely be back!

Great coffeehouse, very relaxed and real. Extremely friendly people serving, quick and done right. Had a Cuban coffee and bagel, very tasty. Modest selection of food was fresh and appealing. Price was just fine. Decor and furnishings are nice, conducive to small group intimacy and meeting new friends too. Comfy sofas as well as tables and chairs - something for everyone. Safe community, easy parking. Enjoy!

Sipper's Coffeehouse is a local shop I love to frequent. The atmosphere is great! When I was in school, I would study and do homework in the shop as well as get some personal work done. They are very friendly and easy to converse with. The Chai is the best I've had in town, especially the "Dirty Chai." I love this place! If you are able to walk in when they are baking cinnamon rolls, you will be very tempted to buy one. They are so delicious. Why do I return? -Great staff -Best Chai (Dirty Chai= a shot of espresso added) -Delicious cinnamon rolls -Free WIFI -Drive-thru service when you're on the go The parking lot may be filled up during the day in the front because of the small strip they are located in but you can always find parking in the back. They share a small strip with a nail salon, a french bistro, and a personal fitness business.

Love love love this sweet little coffee shop!!! I am always greeted with a smile and the service is great!! This place truly is a hidden gem!! We always bring our out of town guests here because there is a nice little space to visit and catch up over a cup of tea or coffee.

Sipper's is a coffee shop with a low key atmosphere and a nice cup of coffee. I sat there and played chess with a friend for a couple of hours when we spend a couple of days in Jacksonville and it was one of the better parts of the trip. Definitely better than the nearest Starbucks.

I have avoided writing a review for this place because I worked there. I didn't want to come off as bias and I wanted to be able to give an honest review. I no longer work there so I can happily write my review. I love Marcy, the owner, she has fought the good fight of small coffee shops, especially being on the Southside, she knows all of her customers by name and can easily ask about their family. Home made pastries, sandwiches, and chai. THE CHAI IS THE BEST IN JAX! I may even say the best I've ever tried. My typical order is Iced Soy Pumpkin Chai. Sooo delicious. They have a ton of syrups to choose from and local coffee beans from Bold Bean and Coffee Roasters. They have three coffees brewed daily; mild, dark, and a flavor which they rotate out. This place has a drive thru and a very loyal customer base. The down sides to this place is they are only open to 7pm and sometimes things come off as weird. My personal recommendations: Homemade Cinnamon Roll Chai White Peppermint Mocha Blueberry Coffee Graham Cracker Coffee

The coffee here was amazing! They even have pumpkin flavor year round, which I am a big fan of. The owner is really nice and they have great customer service. I'm only keeping it to 4 stars because the atmosphere is a little bit quiet; there wasn't really any music (or it was playing too low). But I will definitely be back!

Best coffee shop in jax. No frills, no trendy coffee you can't pronounce. Just great coffee, warm atmosphere, and friendly staff.

Sippers is a local gem for coffee lovers! My wife actually worked here many years ago before we were married. It has only gotten better over the years. The owner, Marcy, is one of the sweetest ladies we know and remembers her customers by name. The flavor of the day coffee is always unique and interesting and the chai lattes are awesome among other drinks. She has also started baking some of the best breakfast goodies around and healthy too. Additionally I love to drop in for a quiet lunch and a sandwich to order. Both the chicken salad and tuna salad are fresh and delicious. You cannot go wrong supporting Sippers over Starbucks. The prices are a little less and the experience is way better. Even have a drive up window if you're in a hurry. Most times, I just enjoy getting away from the office to work remote over a cup of Joe.

This place is a hidden gem. It's a bit out of my way but I like the relaxing atmosphere. It's not as busy as Starbucks, so it's much quieter and the staff is really friendly. The vibe reminded me of a similar laid-back coffeeshop in Hollywood. It really feels like you're chilling at home. They have some really comfy seating and even a few library-style working desks so you can bring your laptop in for the free wi-fi. Their lattes are delicious. On my first visit, I got the Turtle Cheesecake latte in small size and a sandwich for only $7.90. On my last visit, the taste of the first latte I had lingered in my mind so I ordered a similar flavor -- Caramel chocolate cheesecake latte. With this, I ordered a chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad mix is undoubtedly homemade fresh and the sandwich itself is pretty sizeable for me so I was fine eating just half of it. They have Jamaican spicy beef patties for $2. Just look for the term "empanada" on the menu. Lolz.

The homemade chai is probably the best in town. I even like the sugar-free chai with soy and a shot of espresso ("dirty" chai). Give it a try!

Went here for the first time today! I LOVE local coffee shops and prefer to support local over a chain, so I was excited to try it. I had a pumpkin spice latte and it was excellent! The coffee itself had a wonderful robust, yet smooth flavor, and there was a perfect amount of pumpkin flavor, not overwhelming and not too subtle. The ladies working were very helpful and pleasant, and it was a really nice, relaxing atmosphere. It's a little bit of a drive for me, but I think I may have found my new favorite!

Such a charming coffeehouse with delicious cappuccinos and chai lattes! Yum!! I also loved all of the seasonal flavors this fall. Wish I lived close by because I would be a regular!

Overall a nice visit. There is no menu, but the "barista" was very helpful with my selection, both with a drink and a pastry. I got the pumpkin chia latte, which was very good. It could have been hotter and it was a little sweet for my taste. But I'd more than likely order it again and see if these things could be remedied. Not overly busy, very comfortable. I'd go again.

I love this little locally owned coffee shop. This place is just around the corner from my office and I stop in here typically 2 - 3 times a week for a morning coffee. Having worked at Starbucks all through college, I'm typically picky about my coffee and won't just drink anyones coffee. The great thing about Sipper's is that they brew locally owned and roasted coffee from Bold Bean and then they have a rotating flavored coffee about every 4 days. I've never been one for flavored coffee, but man they have some good flavors from Jingle Bells to Blueberry to S'mores to Apple Crumble Cake. LOVE! The owner, Marcy, even makes her own pastries form scratch on site which is a bonus when I'm looking for a muffin. Plus: They have a drive thru. Negative: At times they're slow. Overall: If you're on Gate Parkway near timed:exercise and JJ's Bistro in the morning, definitely stop by this place and give their coffee a try

I really enjoy this coffeehouse. It definitely has the "independent coffee house small business owner" feel. Their coffee selections are enough, but nothing crazy like the famous retailers have available. Prices are great, and very reasonable. I've had the asiago bagel which was good. Pass on their muffins. I really wish they would expand their food offerings and really bring something to the table here. Regardless, I have always had a pleasant visit, and all the employees are enjoyable. Marci, the owner, could not be sweeter and will really try her best to make you happy. They have a drive through if you're in a rush in the morning, but there's rarely a line inside either. It's also a great place to study, for a group meeting, or just to stop and unwind. In the summer they also sell ice cream (yum!). They also have free wifi, you just need to ask for the password.
