Watched college and NFL football at the bar there a few times and LOVED it!!! Choice of different beers and drinks, with great seafood available at the bar. Mature crowd. Able to watch more than one game at a time. Outstanding Bartender (Tasha)!!! Will be BACK:)

Clean and quiet. Early dinner for us so seating was easy and we had our choice of where to sit. Staff friendly. Good selection on the menu though there seemed to be an emphasis on lunch specials rather than dinner specials. Wife had steak and I had fish. Both were cooked as specified. Both were delicious. Background music complimented the setting and did not overwhelm like so many other places. We enjoyed the dinner and will be back again. Hope that this place catches on as it is worth the visit. Why didn't I give it 5 stars? Should be refurbished as tables/booths are held over from previous establishment. But they have only been open a little more than a month so it's not a deal breaker.

Looking for lunch options on a rare jaunt up to the North Side, I happened upon several glowing reviews of this gem. Seldom one to pass up a chance at good local shrimp, I gave it a go. They were busy for lunch, if not slammed. The service, while understandably a bit slow, was friendly and genuine. I opted for the 12-piece shrimp lunch, though they offer a heartier 20-piece plate for the truly famished. Trying to keep my side choices healthy, I opted for steamed broccoli and the house salad. The former was notably good, largely due to the liberal inclusion of minced garlic to amp up the flavor without added salt. The salad was ample and fresh. The featured shrimp were deftly breaded and fried, and were certainly fresh. They were the equal of any I've had so far on the First Coast. I did eat one of the two included hush puppies in a small concession to my inner carb monster, and while a bit sweet to my taste, it was delicious and well-fried. While I am not in the area often, I would certainly return here to explore more of their menu. Thanks to the Yelpers whose trail of hush puppy crumbs led me from darkness into this light.

I really liked this place! I enjoyed myself the whole time I was there. As soon as you walk in you can see the bar area to the right and I walked straight over and sat up at the bar. There was an older gentleman at the bar. Frank...I think. But he was pretty much the best. Very nice and was just great all around. The only complaint I had were the coconut shrimp appetizers and only because I couldn't taste the coconut, the shrimp was otherwise was good. For a meal I had the stuffed Flounder with Crab meat, sweet potato fries and a Caesar salad. It was all delicious. The flounder was amazing and the fries were perfect. They came with some sort of cinnamon butter that I had never had before and I don't think I can say enough how good it was. There was another pleasant surprise and I don't know if its a regular thing but I had ordered two shock top beers and at the end they gave me two shock top glasses!! How awesome is that! You can never go wrong with free stuff. Overall, I would definitely go back to have more great food and maybe try their crab pot.

We got unlimited fish and shrimp and it was so much food. It was really good! The service was excellent even though we came in right at closing. The price is reasonable for the food you get.

Fresh, hot, and easy on the pockets! We had the best lunch here. I had the $9.99 all you can eat tilapia and clam strips...When my initial plate came out, it was loaded to the max..It included, fried green tomatoes, hush puppies, loaded baked potatoes..I had to immediately get a take out box.The service was excellent, our Server Chelsea made sure we were well taken care of, she didn't miss a beat.... Great place to go if you want fresh seafood, priced well and good service....

Great service and amazing food! This will become our new thing. This was our second visit and blew the prior visit away. Owners and manager personally checks on tables between your servers visit. Totally a 5 out of 5 stars. Wish I could've gone higher. Prices were not inflated, very reasonable. Located on Dunn Ave approximately 1 mile West of I95.

The stuffed flounder w crabmeat stuffing topped with shrimp & melted cheese & sautéed mushrooms added on top with fresh broccoli & squash steamed in lemon garlic juice was A M A Z I N G!!!!!!! It's definitely gone straight to the top of the list as my newest FAVORITE meal at ship2shore seafood & steaks on Dunn Ave! The service was fast & friendly, as soon as we got seated & ordered drinks, it seemed like no time before she was already bringing them to us, the banana-strawberry smoothie hit the spot & was a great treat along with our appetizer gator tail with boom-boom sauce & fried okra with ranch! I was so full from the huge portions, I didn't have room for dessert & still had plenty 4 leftovers 4 later on!

First time here and it was fabulous! Had fried dill pickles for appetizer. Hot and huge portion. You must try them with the boom boom sauce! Had all you can eat fish and shrimp for dinner with two sides and hush puppies for $16.99. I couldn't even finish half of the first plate because the servings were so huge. I had fried and the hubby had blackened. We were both very pleased!

There is a lot of seating and a bar area so there is plenty of room. You however will not have plenty of room in your pants after eating here w the portion sizes. I wanted to love this place but wasn't wowed at all. The server seemed almost annoyed that we didn't know what we wanted right away and was not helpful w specials or suggestions. My friend actually got up to take a pic of the special board to answer our questions. I ordered the stuffed flounder w shrimp on top w baked potato and fried green tomatoes. Def had leftovers. My fish was Luke warm at best and the shrimp on top were so tiny w no flavor. The fried green tomatoes w boom sauce were really tasty. He got the all u can eat fish and shrimp. Your first plate u can choose how they cook the tilapia and shrimp but after that u get fried. Those shrimp were big and juicy. Very good. It was really odd that whatever leftovers u have they won't give u a box. I've never seen that before. U can get 10% off if u text a code which u can find on the table. Also I heard people using coupons for buy one get one half off.

I didn't think much of this place's location or decor, but the food had me going. It was DELICIOUS. It started great with the gator tail and fried okra, continued with the coconut shrimp and Caesar salad with mahi, and ended in a bang with a piña colada smoothie. I think the best part was the service, as Miss Mowry was just about the sweetest and most attentive waitress I've ever had. She handled our party of 10 really well and made us all feel so comfortable. She even whipped and nae-nae'd with our littlest girl because she knew she danced. She's a peach. 5 stars just for her.

Tucked away in a strip mall off of Dunn Avenue is Ship 2 Shore. It's a quaint spot with a separate bar side. That is where I decided to have lunch. Being that I was a little hung over from the previous night's libations, I opted for the trio of scallops, oysters and shrimp. It's kind of the staple for a seafood platter. The combos come with two sides and the list is a plenty with options. The scallops were small bay scallops which I'm a sucker for. They were lightly battered and tasted great. The oysters also fantastic and the shrimp very good. It's hard to mess this kind of food up. The menu boasts several other options and after tasting the scallops, I would order the scallop pasta in the future. I love small businesses. I love the charm and the effort they put in. I usually always eat at the bar if the restaurant has one. You typically get the best service and good conversation when dining alone. Overall, I wouldn't eat here every day.. But if I was craving seafood I'd make the drive. The bartender made the experience five star. His name is Frank. Very courteous and friendly and attentive. Those qualities are hard to find in people in general. Hope this business thrives and keeps on keepin' on! Thumbs up.

Food was very good. Portions are huge. Waitress seemed like she was half drunk half asleep. She kept scratching herself when she was taking our order. We went on a Sunday evening and there were very few customers. The waitress brought some complimentary fish dip appetizer and we waited about 25 minutes for the food even though she said food would come quickly. We ordered a Ship 4 Two (with oysters, scallops, shrimp, and clam strips), 30 fan tailed shrimp, a crab and shrimp pot for 5 people for $71 before tips. I think the Ship 4 Two has enough food to feed at least 3 people. We had 4 boxes of leftovers. We used a 10% code and got a BOGO coupon on our receipt for the next visit. We may visit here again when it's convenient and the waitress is sober.

First let me start off by saying my boyfriend and I were true customers to the Ship 2 Shore in Kingsland, GA. But, sometimes we didn't feel like taking that drive. I didn't even know that a Ship 2 Shore was in the making on the North side, but it is well worth the drive no matter what side of town you reside. Second, this location is way better than the kingsland location. Their seasoning is on point, which is something the other one lacked. In the pictures you'll see that we ordered a bit of everything and we have no complaints. Crab was succulent.... Mmm I can still taste it and I'm not even a huge fan of crab usually. The steak was a perfect medium rare seasoned to perfection!! The hot combo appetizer was probably our favorite, the sauce was AMAZING, the shrimp was great but more importantly the chicken breast was juicy and tender. The hush puppies, fries, fried fish, shrimp, clam strips and oysters were also cooked to perfection. COME HERE. EAT. ENJOY IT. DEFINITELY AN EXPERIENCE TO WRITE HOME ABOUT!! Lol OR you can just Yelp about it!! Happy Yelping...

Asked a fellow Yelper was this place cool and she said ABSOLUTELY! We had a taste for shrimp and we came across the 30 for 10.99 coupons. We both ordered the special 20 fried with 10 scampi a piece. We had fries I had a Cesar salad she had tossed. I had some beers she had cocktail. The servings were nice and the service was excellent. Will definitely put this place in the rotation.

I'm actually in the parking lot outside and want to make sure I write this while my dinner is still fresh inside and I'm still able to enjoy it's goodness. Amanda was our server and did an amazing job! We enjoyed the wild fresh salmon, steamed clams and a huge serving of crab legs while washing it all down with ice cold draft beer. I found this spot thanks to yelp and its glowing reviews. The setting is nice and simple , casual and is perfect for amazing seafood with no frills or fuss. Our bill was under 60.00 and being from Miami, I find that price a total steal and well worth every penny spent. Thank you Amanda and the support staff for such a great dinner tonight. I'll be back when I revisit Jacksonville for sure!

Awesomely strong impression from start to finisk like Popeye eats his spinisk! Toot toot!! 5 star ratings from me are hard to come by but Ship 2 Shore earned this 1! I felt like a welcomed honored guest from the time I stepped in until the time I waddled out. I was fervently greeted and seated upon entry and then the fun really began. LOL! The layout is much the same as I remember, as this was previously a St Johns seafood; however it appears refurbished and anew. You enter the restaurant near the middle with the host station right in front. It has a large bar section to the right upon entry that also has a number of tables, TV's, etc., for a sports-like bar feel. To the left upon entry is the main dining area that has about 4 or more sub-sections so there's plenty of room. The hostess, who was a lil petite dynamo, told me to sit wherever I'd like and she'd follow me to where I'd want to go. She even commended me on my seat selection. :) My server, Amber, arrived shortly after I was seated and was extremely attentive, helpful, prompt, and friendly. I ordered the all-you-can-eat (AYCE) lunch special for $10.99 starting with blackened tilapia, buffaloed popcorn shrimp, hush-puppies, cole slaw, buttered brocoli, and a Michelob Ultra draft (I took a pic for everyone's viewing pleasure..I'm nice like that. LOL!). Everything was flavorful, fresh, and above par! The tilapia was seasoned just right and oh so succulent. The popcorn shrimp were the size of regular shrimp in many other restaurants, buffaloed perfectly, and oh so succulent also. Additionally they don't do small! My first plate was so plentiful, I wondered would I make it through let alone order another portion. Too many other places with ayce give small portions so you have to keep ordering and wait between refills & simply give up do to the delay but not here. Being the trooper that I am, I made it through and asked for a 2nd helping of fish & shrimp & ordered cheese grits (Pic provided again). The 1st order you can have the entree's prepared however you like (baked, fried, blackened, broiled, etc.) and refills are all fried selections which was fine for me. The 2nd fried portions were equally good and the cheese grits were on point! While I was there I was engaged by at least 4 or more employees whether they spoke or assisted me or some other capacity. As a past food service professional, I love that! It evidences well trained personnel and good hiring insight. I just may have found a new fave lil seafood place! I will definitely be going back and suggest, exclaim, holla COME 1 COME ALL!

Our waitress Amber, was polite, efficient in getting our order delivered to our table in a timely manner. We were seated quickly with our choice of being seated in the bar area or dining area, we chose the bar area. Since we has a coupon for 30 shrimp and two sides for $10.99, we let her know that fact right off, which was no problem. Amber advised that we could get the shrimp served any way we wanted from fried, blackend, grilled or scampi. We choose to get 20 fried and 10 garlic scampi. (You can split the shrimp up if you like with the different cooking styles.) We both ordered drinks which were reasonable in price. I ordered a Tropical Passion, it was a fruity drink but don't expect a "buzz" Lol. Anyway the Mister ordered beer. The shrimp arrived hot , tasty and tender with a crisp coating. My two sides were garden side salad and french fries and Larry's side items were Caesar Salad and french fries. Both salads were fresh , crisp and cold and the portion was plentiful. The french fries were hot and crispy. I will be returning back for seafood. This place is worth giving a try.
