My husband and I absolutely love Salsas. We don't eat there all the time although we live just down the road (we love cooking at home :-)), but every time we go, we have delicious food, tasty cocktails, and excellent service :-) we definitely like it better than La Napolera... Wonderful yummy American Mexican food :-) lol

Stopped in for lunch today and what a great experience I had! I was greeted by the manager at the door and let him know I was headed to the bar for one. I had a seat and was promptly greeted by Giovani who offered me a a beverage to start. Of course house margarita with salt. It was permafrost but still very good among other house margaritas I've had! It was served with a fresh lime and orange slice which was nice splash of citrus. I ordered some queso to accompany the delicious salsa that you could tell was homemade! So fresh and a nice kick to it! I ordered the lunch pick three with a chile relleno (sp?), quesadilla and taco with chicken served with rice and beans! It was all only $7.99! What a great deal! Giovanni upheld such great service throughout my whole experience! He was taking care of bar guest as well and running around taking care of tables! The food was prepared perfectly! They accidentally gave me a burrito instead of a quesadilla and I said it was not a problem, I'm not picky and I already had a ton of food! A few minutes later the manager brought over a quesadilla anyways! That was going above expectations and even though it will definitely be taken home it was the thought that counted! Overall I will definitely be back after this! Such a wonderful lunch! Left full and happy by all the amazing food and pleased by the great service! Thank you to Giovanni and the great management!

I'll make this simple and direct, if you're anywhere near the regency mall/Arlington area don't waste your time driving all the way out here like we did. The salsa lacked flavor and depth. The chips were a bit stale, and tasted like they were re warmed in the microwave. The margarita was great though, nice and strong. The carne asada was just okay, I did like the beans and rice but in MY opinion Oles Mexican restaurant is way better.

Really enjoyed it! We shared the fajita for 2 (starts with a p, includes chorizo, pork, beef, chicken and shrimp) and it was a plentiful serving! The meat was great! We especially loved the shrimp. They gave us a good amount of shrimp which I wasn't expecting. The service was good, never ran low on our drinks and our server was friendly. I'd definitely come back.

I stopped in for take out here and ordered a California steak burrito. It came with chips and salsa. The gentleman who took my order was very friendly. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, I would like to dine in sometime. The burrito was great, and huge! I look forward to returning. The salsa was also good, its not very spicy though.

Stopped by the other night because we live nearby and were craving Mexican food. So glad we did because this place turned out to be great. Tons of options, fresh food and your plate is filled to the rim with food so you never feel like you're not getting your money's worth. The huge margaritas are another bonus, though if you want to enjoy them I recommend stopping by during their happy hours (Tuesday nights are $1 tacos and $2 margaritas). Not the best Mexican food I've had, but still a go-to choice for whenever I'm craving enchiladas or quesadillas.

Service definitely was a one star experience, food a three (just ok) so I compromised with a two star rating. First, here early, lots of empty tables but waiter sloooooooow. Couldn't find any reason to justify this - and never received an apology or anything. Food typical American Mexican - but I can say the cheese dip with jalapenos was really good. Definitely will not be back - too many other Mexican restaurants to give a try in Jacksonville.

Good food but bad service. Watch to see if your waiter likes ear twisting massages from the manager verses taking care of your table.

If I was rating the food only, I would give this place 4 stars ... But the atmosphere here was vet dismal ... Almost depressing ... And our waiter had no personality whatsoever. In the future I will just order takeout from them! Also .. I'm pretty sure the a Patron Silver they poured me out of the Patron bottle ... Was indeed some other type of tequila ... As it tasted completely different ( this is my standard drink .. So I'm very familiar with the taste ).

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
