I would give this 5 stars but there are 2 fundamental issues I have with this place. 1. The service is horrible. most of the time the employees have an attitude that is very unbecoming. When I ask a question i dont expect you to read me off the board something i just read.... Also dont demand me to walk to the register to take my order... 2. I love steel cut oats. Very few if any (the only other place is Jamba Juice at UNF) place sells this. Every time I go in I get a different expierience. One day its cooked the other day its not. One day they fill it to the top. one day they are running low and still sell the product btu give you only 1/4 of the cup full?!?! I walked in one day and the guy obviously knew it wasn't ready and gave me a bowl of water and steel oats... steel oats take a while to make its not instant oatmeal! i just wish for once i can go in a get the same experience and same product every time i come in.

I went there yesterday at 9:45pm with 3 friends. We drove from the beach area. The goes of this place is wrong on yelp, and Google. They suppose to be open till 11. I was very very pissed off to say the least. Not to mention the wasted money on gas and our time. I will definitely not be going back and will tell 20 more people not to go back. I know it's not San Diego things close way to early in this crazy town. I guess if I need my fix for an Acai bowl I will look elsewhere or make my own. Feeling cheated and disappointed.

First time coming to this shop and absolutely Love this place! Made with fresh ingredients and they have organic options! Very healthy and love how it's not over-sweetened! I got the Chocolate Chai and the Kale Aid. Chocolate Chai was really good. The taste was evened out between the chocolate and chai (organic). Not too sweet and not too bland. Just how I like it :) They also used chocolate soy milk, banana, and organic frozen yogurt, and Nutella. Blended very well and came out smooth. The Kale Aid was very delicious! Blending very well with strawberries, banana, kale, and I think blueberries (I don't know remember). Overall, really liked it and it get it again!

Out having Daddy /Daughter time. Stopped for a smoothie at Pulp. I got the Black Fuel and yes it was black. The smoothie has blueberry, coconut water, mango pineapple, banana and something called spirilla. It was pretty good. Tia had banana and stawbbery which she liked. If you are in the area please give it a try.

I love getting fresh juice from this place. It's super tastey and I really like that it's so healthy. I feel like I'm doing something good for myself when I get juice here..

The smoothies are so fresh and so clean here. Unlike other smoothie shops, Pulp uses only the core ingredients without any added sugars or sweeteners. The fruit based smoothies like the mango colada are refreshing, and the more indulgent ones that have chocolate in them such as the chocolate chai make a perfect light dessert. Easily a please that can become part of your regular routine, as it has mine!

I remember learning about Pulp when I first started juicing at home. However, San Marco was a long way to drive for a cup of juice. When I found out they offer juice cleanses, I had to find out more information. Have you ever seen how much actually goes into one glass of juice? It's cray-cray. Between biscuits & beer for dinner and a recent visit to the Quest Diagnostics Center, I knew I had to get my butt in gear. I went for a run and wanted to get out of the house while hubby was at work so I decided to venture on over and see what Pulp was pressing. I had seen the San Marco Elixir online and know I wanted something to kick my digestion/immune system into gear so that's what I went with. The mix of fruits and veggies was well balanced and the garlic & ginger added just the right amount of zing to my morning beverage. The girls behind the counter were super sweet & I plan to stop in more often when I'm in the area. Wi-Fi would be a nice added bonus, and while It's common, I know not everyone can offer it.

I always enjoy Pulp and have received good service. I truly enjoy their smoothies as do some of my friends and family. I also love their yogurt. Knowing that I am eating healthy and organically makes such a difference. Their yogurt is organic and much more healthy than other frozen yogurt. So when I want to splurge, this is the healthiest way to do so. I love Pulp!

What a cool joint! Stepped in for a coffee in between meetings. Service was outstanding and friendly. Espresso was delicious. Didn't go there for a smoothie but next time I will - I think they have about 40 varieties. Landi (one of the baristas) even made a custom one for someone while I was there. Seating is limited but they do have free wi-Fi. Great alternative to Five-bucks...er, that other coffee shop.

The interior is very open with big windows and lots of stainless steel. They have a pick up window along the patio so that you don't have to go in if you don't want to. It feels very sterile and clean. The smoothies are very healthy tasting, unlike the ones you get in the more commercial smoothie joints around town. They tend towards not being sweet at all. You taste every fruit and vegetable that goes into those bad boys. It's wonderful, especially if you went in there not feeling great due to some physical malady. I like to get the Super Powers or the Bruce Lee, since they both incorporate kale. I also like to up the green factor by adding wheatgrass. They have various juices available for purchase as well, if you're into the juice fast thing. The coffee that they serve is really strong but it takes forever to brew. I've never tried the oatmeal, but it's available! The organic frozen yogurt is really really good. They had an apricot flavor at one point that was ridiculously good, but apparently I was the only one who liked it so I haven't seen it again. Oh well, the other flavors are good too.

This place is fantastic. They offer a million smoothie and juice options. They will customize everything. The staff somehow memorizes your smoothie or juice instantly. They don't preach about health. It's a well done place and they execute really well.

Nothing special - fair product for fair price. Place seemed kinda sketchy on the clean factor but probably wouldn't eat out if every place had open kitchen. Needed something to wash lunch taste away and this did the trick.

Pulp is finally open in Avondale!! And there was much rejoicing. For the uninitiated, they've got a fantastic selection of fresh-squeezed juices, smoothies, Free Trade tea and coffee, in addition to organic beers and wines. Want to feel healthy? Go to Pulp!

My first time there was not a good one. I called in my order (a Pineapple Berry smoothie), a friend was picking it up. The friend did not so I went instead. The smoothie had set out the entire time and had turned to liquid. I would think it would be kept refrigerated. I was not happy and did not appreciate the lack of customer service. Doubtful I will return.

Really great coffee! Tried the macchiato, which was nice and smooth, almost caramel flavor. The iced coffee was excellent. They cold brew it, so it's not hot coffee watered down with ice. Best iced coffee I've had, not bitter at all.

My previous review of Pulp was, in my opinion, one-dimensional. Yes, they offer organic frozen yogurt by the ounce with virtually any topping you could think to include (unless you're one of those people who does weird things with fro-yo and if that's the case, skip right over this...). Having established myself in the San Marco area now (and maybe after having broadened my palette to accommodate more than the diet of a 12 year old child), I've gotten to see the many offerings of this sweet little San Marco Square treat. If you, reader, ever have the opportunity, I recommend just sitting and observing the smorgasbord of options these people put together. Seriously, just walk in, tell them what you're interested in, let them make it for you, and just watch what the other patrons order. This place screams eclectic. The aforementioned frozen yogurt situation is lovely, but then they have essentially any fresh juice you could possibly imagine. They also offer about 2 dozen different smoothie combinations (and I bet if you asked real nice they'd put together something not on the menu for you too) along with organic beer and wine and fresh local coffee prepared your choice of one of several different ways including french press, Turkish style or hand drip. They also offer a 28 day juice cleanse. The pricing seems a little steep, but then consider that a) you don't have to infiltrate your refrigerator with enough produce to feed a small 3rd world country for a month straight, b) said produce would quite easily cost just as much (have you seen how much fruit/veggies go into a single serving of juice?!), c) no cleanup. Pulp established a loyalty program where you buy 9 drinks and get 1 free. I assure you, this is not a difficult accomplishment. This place covers every meal (or replacement meal) and every craving in between. Check it out.

There are plenty of items on the menu and its hard to decide. Ultimately, you can choose to add what you want to the choice you make. A plus is that the ingredients are organic!! Oh...they also have frozen yogurt, fresh juices, coffee and smoothies.

I'm surprised that Pulp isn't busier than it is. They serve a wide array of healthy options from smoothies & juices to coffees and fro yo. I tried the iced coffee and was not disappointed. I believe it was a french roast & it had an interesting bold flavor. I appreciate that they had almond milk & stevia to add to the coffee for us trying to avoid certain additives. I also tried the Almond smoothie with added rice protein. It was perfect for a post-work out breakfast. Thick, creamy and loaded with good-for-you ingredients. I definitely plan to return to pulp (maybe on a hang over morning) to try the detox & green smoothies.

I went to Pulp for the first time around a week ago and I have been meaning to write this post. I was very excited at first, I run a juice bar in South Florida so I love trying new juices all over when I travel! I placed my order with the cashier, who wasn't the friendliest. As I was waiting I realized the cashier went straight from handling money at the register to start making juices for an order ahead of mine. That is a HUGE NO-NO. The entire counter is visible, your customers can see your every move. Money is so dirty and then you touch fresh produce? I kindly asked for him to either wear gloves or wash his hands before even starting my order. Another employee interrupted and just said she would do it, prompting her to wash her hands right in front of me. Did I do something wrong as a customer by asking an employee to WASH their hands or wear gloves before making a fresh juice? I also noticed that the produce they grabbed from the fridge still had stickers on the apples and pears. They just chopped it up and threw it in the juicer. I started to question to myself if they even washed the produce if there were still stickers on it!??? The chance for entry of bacteria in juices is highly likely if you do not follow proper health regulations and sanitary procedures. ALL JUICES ARE RAW. Needless to say I was immediately turned off by the whole ordeal and the juice was sub-par. Would not recommend to others.

First time I tried this place, I ordered the Nuts for Nutella -- OMG so yummy!!!! I like Pulp because of their organic ingredients.... AND... they support local businesses. They use coffee from Bold Bean Coffee Roasters. Pulp even has a couple of ways they can brew your coffee: manual drip, french press, and I don't remember the others (or if there are other ways). I chose to have my french roast coffee brewed via manual drip. The girl working there said you can get more of the flavor with the manual drip, so I chose that method. I loved it and will definitely go back again. Hopefully I won't be too full to get some of their frozen yogurts (btw, I sampled the Vanilla Nutella yogurt and it was sooooo good!!!). OH yea, I forgot to mention that the place was really cute and clean, and the ladies working there were really nice.

Here's what I don't love about Pulp: The service isn't overly friendly. The juices are centrifuged rather than cold-press so they don't keep throughout the day. Most juice bars I go to have a grab-n-go type bottled juice option, but Pulp doesn't. But here's what I do love: the juice. I love the flavor of the juices so much - it's such a great, quick, healthy alternative to the food on the go I normally get while traveling for work. I haven't ventured away from the juice menu yet. I keep saying I will, but they keep pulling me back in.

After enjoying breakfast down the street, I stumbled upon Pulp. Recalling the reviews from Yelp, I decided to end my morning with a refreshing smoothie. Pulp has quite the variety of options of smoothies and the mango and blueberry colada flavors caught my attention. The lady behind the counter was nice enough to make a substitution for me without any fuss, so I ended up with a strawberry colada. It looked great - coconut water, coconut flakes, pineapples, strawberries, I mean, how could it go wrong? Preparing to be amazed by the flavor and the freshness of the ingredients, I slipped out the door, smoothie in hand and began to sip. Given the high marks for this place, I hate to admit it but, with each sip, I enjoyed it less and less. If you like cold, sweet smoothies, this is not the place for you. Unfortunately, healthy rarely overrides tasty in my book. But, I've gotta give 3 stars for the accommodating nature of the servers.

First time visiting, they were out of certain ingredients (kale, spinach, wheat grass, etc.) that were in almost every juice/ drink (maybe it was because it was at the end of the day, but still)! ... I managed to find something I liked though (San Marco Elixir). I wouldn't go back for a smoothie - WAY TOO THIN! The frozen yogurt its tasty, but the toppings lack. Overall, great place for juices!

Have enjoyed good coffee (get the French press) and yummy smoothies at Pulp. The best part of Pulp is their staff. In fact, today I was waiting for my coffee when a woman, who was very upset, came into the store and asked for help with directions. One of the Pulp staff was amazingly kind. He sat down with her, called to confirm the directions and ensured she would find her find her way. That's pretty awesome service. Pulp can have my coffee budget any day.

I suppose Siri might be partly at fault because we asked her to take us to a yogurt shop. While I didn't take children, if you do take kids to Pulp for yogurt, they will CRY. There were three small dark-lit yogurt dispensers (and one gross one with tape and an icky sign that reads "out of order"), some topping in dispensers that barely turn and a couple of pieces of fruit in what is pretending to be a yogurt topping stand. I'm not sure why they bothered at all. Have they NOT been to place that does yogurt well? So, if you want yogurt, DON'T BOTHER.

Pulp is an awesome addition to San Marco and will soon (hopefully!) be an awesome addition to the Shops of Avondale. The space itself is modern and clean, and the staff is typically friendly and helpful. Everything is made fresh - smoothies in the VitaMix blender, juices are made to order. We often order the Nuts about Nutella which is a creamy and delicious treat (vanilla organic frozen yogurt, banana, Nutella, organic soy milk and peanut butter). The organic frozen yogurt self-serve area is fun too, with 6 flavors proudly on display daily (love the vanilla Nutella and the wild blueberry). All of Pulp's coffee is locally roasted in microbatches and handmade one cup at a time, ground to order using Bold Bean and Sweetwater Organic. On my most recent visit I checked in on foursquare and saved 15% and ordered a chai latte with almond milk. It was delicious!

This is a cute place but, their acai bowl is not the best out there. It did not have that thick consistency I was expecting. The granola was mixed with Rice Krispies which I really didn't like either. There are much better places to have an acai bowl. Kinda disappointed. I might go back to try their frozen yogurt.

Pulp is San Marco's neighborhood gem. Everything is made to order along with limited (if no) artificial flavors. Where other juice-spots in JAX fail by using tons of syrups, canned-fruits, and other faux ingredients; Pulp is a welcome alternative. They are really creative with their juice options, and you always leave feeling a touch healthier. One of my favs is the Acai Bowl, it's a great alternative to breakfast. Tons of good for you stuff in there - Acai (obv), fruit, granola, and your choice to top it with froyo. Nice way to start the morning! Thanks for bringing fresh and delish options to San Marco!

Discovered this place over the weekend. I go to the San Marco area often, and seem to have never noticed this place until this weekend! We were strolling around the area and ran into pulp. First impression was, oh a new place with organic items, let's try it out! A store that emphasizes on organic items always gets ++ for me! I ordered their smoothie, the sidewalk julius and it was good! A little too much ice (The server apologized for putting too much ice), but with a little mixing up it tasted good. The guy I was with had their organic vanilla + nutella yogurt. There are several different toppings for yogurts, including fruits, nuts, chocolates, etc. Well, let me tell you something, the yogurt was very good! Overall, place has good vibe, very friendly service, good selections, and is definitely worth the visit!

What I love about Pulp is that you can walk up the store front, order a smoothie [or coffee or tea], and get your goods to go without ever stepping foot into the place. The little walk up window for ordering is not only effective [waste no time or energy opening that door of their's!], but its also very quaint. Although, if you do step foot inside, you will be greeted with pleasant wooden paneled floors, white ceramic table tops and wooden bench seating for you to rest your bum on while you wait for your order to be prepared. The smoothies are delicious [they offer 30 different choices of smoothie] and have put the focus back on the fruit and less on the ice and the "supplements" that almost every smoothie place these days seems to shove down your throat... literally. I looked and looked for some protein supplements to add to my berry concoction [Berry San Marco Smoothie - Blueberries + Strawberries + Banana + Orange Juice + Raspberry Sorbet - $4.95], but found none. My husband ordered a coffee, we had walked up there one weekday morning for "breakfast", and discovered that each cup of coffee is prepared individually [$2.50]. Yes... I said individually. You have your choice of manual drip [no machinery involved], French Press, Ibrik [Turkish Style], or Moka Pot, which are amazing, but be prepared to wait a hot second while your coffee is brewed. It's worth the wait though. The coffee tastes better than any mass brewed coffee you could get at Starbucks or another large chain. The frozen yogurt is organic and only $.49 an ounce and has a large array of toppings to add to it. All in all, a healthy and delicious breakfast, snack, or dessert!

Love this place! I wish we had one at the beach. It would be perfect at the Atlantic Beach Town Center. Hey, powers that be, I hope you're reading this!!!

Came for the smoothies, stayed for the frozen yoghurt. Great store design paired with highly competent staff, just about any smoothie you could want, and frozen yoghurt with an add your own toppings station. Sometimes I wish the staff would hover over the fixings station, just so they can prevent you from ruining an otherwise very good frozen yoghurt with the wrong toppings. They wouldn't have to say anything, just raise an eyebrow as you reach for the captain crunch to place on your tangy yoghurt with chocolate sauce.

The smoothies and coffee here are terrific. The only problem with this place is the hostile attitude and terrible vibes from one of the employees, a 40-ish African-American man with glasses. But for his rudeness, I would truly heart this place.

Seriously, all my friends call me treat man. When I am feeling like a tasty, organic treat, Pulp is my spot. I highly reccomend the Chocolate Almond smoothy. Don't waste your time at the chains, go local, go Pulp. Nom nom.

The smoothies are delicious [they offer 30 different choices of smoothie] and have put the focus back on the fruit and less on the ice and the "supplements" that almost every smoothie place these days seems to shove down your throat... literally.
