Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

I had the Bianca pizza and a cannoli. The cannoli was great, maybe not $6 great. The pizza was tasty but I didn't care for the crust. I live just outside Boston and pre-made dough bought from a supplier just isn't a thing. I guess I'm spoiled with fresh dough, mixed, measured and stretched out in store. If they make their own dough, it sure didn't taste like it. Also $20 for a large Bianca that was advertised as 16" and turned out to be 14" is a little steep, but I am young and make considerably more money than my peers so it's no big deal. The 20oz Mountain Dew was warm as hell. I should probably give 2 stars, but I was hungry and now I'm not. 3 stars.

Last week I was invited out to Pizza Palace. I have to admit, I have never been there. I have walked by the restaurant many times but for some reason never went in. I had no idea that they have been in business over 30 years! With it being around for so long, I was very surprised to see how modern the inside was. You order at the counter then take a seat with a number. Then they bring the food out to you. We visited on a Thursday night and they were pretty busy, but the food still came out pretty quickly. We decided to try 2 different pizzas, the Meat Pizza and the Chicken Risotto Pizza. Being a huge risotto lover I was really excited about that one. The first thing I noticed was how much cheese was on there. I am also a huge cheese fan so this made me very happy. I took the first bite and immediately knew I was going to love this pizza. The sauce is homemade and a combination of marinara and alfredo sauce. There is no way that's going to be bad! It was very unique and blended very well with the cheese. There were lots of chicken pieces and whole slices of tomato on every slice. I actually thought there was going to be some risotto on the pizza when I first heard the name. Even though there wasn't, I didn't feel like I was missing anything. The flavors more than made up for it! The Meat Pizza had pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, and ham. This was mostly my husband's pizza since he is a bigger carnivore. He was very impressed with the amount of toppings and commented on how much he liked the crust. I also thought the toppings were great and everything combined well together. The sauce was not too chunky and also had a pleasant flavor. There was no better way to finish the meal than with a Cannoli! The presentation was wonderful and I couldn't wait to dig in. I was very pleased with the texture and flavor of the filling. It was more of a firm texture and was not very tart. I also liked the drizzle of chocolate on top. Chocolate is always a welcome addition! Verdict: Liked it! We were very happy with the service in addition to the food. Everyone was very attentive and constantly walking around to all the tables to check on them. Service is very important to me so I was glad to see this. I was also eyeballing some of the dishes going out to other tables and they all looked great. I am planning on going back to try some of their pasta dishes!

I took my kids at 630 on a Saturday. The place was almost empty To add to the emptiness, the only sound was one tv running a football game. Some music over the PA would go a long way. Pizza was great.

Good food, terrible service. Ordered wings, didn't receive plates; my sons slice of cheese pizza didn't come out until much after our large pizza came out (the slice was a reheated slice with sprinkles of new cheese on it so it just needed to be put in the oven) and the girls behind the counter were rude and I had to ask to have the slice after I saw it sitting up waiting to be brought to our table for about 5 minutes. There was only one customer in line so it wasn't even busy.

Just moved to Jax and living on the Southbank, I was looking for a good "go-to" pizza place nearby. I prefer the "New York style" pizza over the "Hut style" pizzas so I was hoping to find a good place for solid NY style pizza. This place didn't quite hit the mark for me. It's somewhere between NY style restaurant and Digorno's... sorry but I guess the "brick oven" part gave me a higher level of expectation, which by the way, when I got there to pick it up, the brick oven looked a lot more like a stainless steel oven. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. The place is good size but apparently they don't do much of a lunch crowd. I went there at 1pm and there were 4 patrons and 2 staff in the whole place. Staff could stand to be a bit more friendly too. Where is the great NY style pizza in downtown Jax area? I'm still seeking my go-to place!

I love this place. Being a fan of thin crust pizza, this place is the place for me. Nice mix between crunch and chew on the crust. Light sauce and fresh toppings. They also serve lasagna and calzone. Daily lunch specials are affordable as well. nice beer selection to boot.

I work in San Marco square and recently decided to take advantage of a lunch special being offered by Pizza Palace. The deal was $6.00 for pasta and salad and add a drink for $1. Great, sounds like a deal. I go and get my food and the woman behind the counter asks for $9.52. I state the deal and she tells me it's $6.99 plus $2 for a drink. I take out my phone, show her the deal, show the owner the deal and we all agree that it clearly states the $7 dollar deal. The owners response.... "I'll get the guy to change that. $9.52 please." In my humble opinion, you honor your deals if it's the businesses fault. Period. That's just good business. Never again Pizza Palace.

No body at the bar and they wouldn't let us order there was told that we have to walk over to the register or sit at a table to order. Young ackward staff. Made absolutely no sense. Just annoying.

Fast, friendly counter service. Wife enjoyed the philly cheesesteak and my son's kid slices were GIANT. I'd had some penne w/ marinara and it was what one would expect at a pizza and sandwich place

Just moved in the neighborhood and found this awesome place. The pizzas are really good, thin crust exactly like authentic Italian( used to live in Italy) and they are actually tasty compared to other places in town. The pizzas are so cheap... I couldn't believe that I paid almost $8 for four slices... Then the location is gorgeous, situated in San Marco Square. You can enjoy the cozy atmosphere and browse the little shops around. I'll definitely return there.... at least once a week

The pizza is "ok" but the service was rude. The woman manager on shift was short with us and completely unhelpful. I will not be returning. For a friendly sports bar, I was very dissapointed.

Some of the worst pizza I ever had. The margherita pizza says it has lots of fresh basil but it was really just some dried crap sprinkled on. But more importantly, the whole thing was so tough it was like eating cardboard. And forget about trying to eat the crust. Rock hard. And even the cheese was tough, rather than soft and gooey like cheese should be. Never again.

Pizza Palace is a good fall back. Is it the best in town? NO, but what it is a great place to relax, good Pizza, consistently good, with decent service. No more needs to be said.

This Place could be a lot better. 1 Star for pricing 1 Star for a good Greek Salad Pizza left us wishing we had gone to Pele's in Riverside instead.

Pizza Palace offers some pretty authentic, non-chainy style pizza. Crispy white crusts, still chewy under all the sauce and cheese. It's got good flavor, salty cheese and well-seasoned tomato sauce. And they offer a more eclectic array of toppings [green olives and onions are my favorite toppings! and green olives can be hard to find]. This location in particular is pretty great for its outdoor seating option. Just went there with my husband and we sat outside underneath one of the large umbrellas and overlooked the San Marco square, most notably the Three Lions Fountain. People rode past on bikes, walked by with their dogs, or strolled through window-shopping. They offer some really amazing specials which can help counteract their somewhat overpriced menu. Tonight we were able to order a large pizza with two toppings [green olives and onions thank you!], an order of chicken wings that were fried and crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside and then drizzled in hot sauce [delish!], and a large Greek salad. All the items are fresh and freshly prepared. And all this food only cost us $25! Also make sure to check out their $1.50 draft beer options, $6 for a pitcher. Definitely worth a try! And if you don't sit outside, they have huge windows, so you still get a great view!

This place used to be amazing. It was the best place for a straight new york cheese pie. You can still taste a little of that. Every time I go here now, I am reminded of how good it used to be. Have you ever had a sad pizza? There is something to be said about having the best location ever though because san marco has got to be the most beautiful spot in town. That and the fact that the food here doesn't suck keeps me going back. (Oh, and they have dollar yinglings).

Here you'll find an ecclectic mix of individuals. I frequented this restaurant in the latter part of high school and the summer between it and college. Great pizza, hands down. Not the best in town (I've said it before, Al's has the best), but good, New York style pizza. I recommend it to anyone in the San Marco area. There's also another pizza place off of Hendricks very nearby which is great as well, though I cannot remember its name (I'd put both it and Palace at a tie).

  • Jay D.

This used to be a really great place for Pizza and their other menu items were good as well. Still some of the best Egg Plant Parm around. However, the major problem and why we will not go back is the sullen employees. They really could care less. Orders were slow in coming, messed up and not brought out together.... Table of 4. Management is non-existent. This is a "don't bother" unless you want to wait forever and deal with "zombie" staff

Overall some very good pizza. My wife and I both had calzones which were good. Not filled enough which is always my issue with calzones in most places. Great service and overall nice place to eat. Biggest downside - kinda pricey for what is was. Would go back because it's a decent spot but that will only happen if we are in the area.

Bunch of high school kids standing around doing nothing. After sitting at the counter for 15 minutes after they kept walking by to get their personal drinks I had to get up and ask for a server only to be told their is no server for the counter. You can not buy individual slices......hello pizza palace??? You should specialize in slices of pizza. Don't waste your money and this joke of a restaurant.

This place has a special place in my heart. I have been going since I was a little girl. The cheese ravioli with the pink sauce is a MUST. The pizza is also good. Yum, yum. It is owned by good people. :)

Stopped by after a vigorous day of drinking on a Saturday afternoon, and was blown away by the food. Went back to confirm that I wasn't just hungry from power drinking, and with the exception of the guy with the guitar singing covers off key, it was a an utterly delightful experience. I am now officially off delivery pizza for awhile. Their beer selection is pretty impressive as well, I recommend a pepperoni pizza and a pitcher of Killer Whale while you people watch.

Good pizza... if they get it right before they bring it out to you. Too many times have I received wrong food. Once, I waited almost 45 minutes only to find out they didnt even make my order. Most likely not returning here.

Fun kinda old school pizza parlor. Not the best in the city but still good! The crowd is a good mix of families and high school/college kids.
