What a great place! I was going through the drive through and was asked by the manger if my roommate and I would like a free milkshake because my fries would take a minute and a half. That's right a minute and a half. I have waited over 7 minutes for fries before at other fast food restaurants and the drive thru employees didn't even apologize for the wait. PDQ really cares about their customer service. They really are people dedicated to quality!

I tried PDQ after a few of my friends recommended it to me. I tried the fried chicken salad which was great and the French fries are hot and crispy. The service was quick and friendly and the place seemed very clean. The only reason I gave only 4 stars was due to the malt shake that I found to be a little funky but all and all a very good place to kick back watch the game and chow down.

Been here on a few occasions, can't say anything great about it. Zaxby's is better in my own opinion.

Had the spicy chicken sandwich and it was excellent. My wife had the grilled turkey "thanksgiving" sandwich and really enjoyed it. The fries were fresh cut and decent. The tenders were fresh and crispy. The service was exceptional and very quick. Will defiantly be back.

Not your average fast food restaurant, everything I had was very delicious, and I will be coming here more often, food is very good!!!

No Vegetarian options??? Really? EVERY restaurant in this day and age have no meat options.

If jimmy johns is freaky fast then PDQ has godlike speed and quality food to match. Incredibly good and fresh, one of the best fast food joints in Jax.

Great food, cool atmosphere! Chicken tenders were extremely fresh. Buffalo dipping sauce was great.

Our experiences have been getting worse each time we come. We really like the food but the service is going downhill. When you have at least 7 people walking around the background I think at least one of them could take our order. Our luck is bad and we inevitably get behind a family who doesn't know what they want to order. Help out the customer guys and open another register.

I had the crispy chicken tenders that were perfectly crisp and delicious. I wish they had lemonade made with Splenda. They only have the real stuff. It was good, but very sweet. The fries could have been a but crispier. But overall it was very good and I will be back.

  • Philip S.

There are better choices! Very disorganized! Chicken sandwich was dry! Fries were not hot and not crispy.

it's chicken. you can't mess up chicken. I'll give credit where credit is due, IT'S DAMN GOOD CHICKEN. I was however out partying with friends when we stopped here so I'll need a second pass to confirm the tastiness...(anything tastes good when you're drunk.) Good job Tebow.

I picked up chicken strips and french fries for lunch and was disappointed in both. Very soggy and greasy chicken and fries. When I picked up my food at the drive thru window the guy told me " he almost gave my food away to the car in front of me." I really wish he had given it away.

I've been there 2x now and had very different experiences. The first time the food was delicious - tenders and fries. The second time I went there the food was terrible - soggy, the chocolate malt was awful, and the gave us the wrong sauces on a to-go order. Customer service is good though as they offered us a free meal next time. Hoping to increase this to 4 stars after I return.

Very disappointed with my first and last visit. I ordered two chicken tender salads. Each salad had "one cut up cold" chicken tender on it. I asked for extra sauce and didn't receive it. Ordered two kids boxes with tenders and fries. Kids weren't impressed either. The fries were soggy and cold. The ranch dressing is spicy and tastes nothing like ranch...kids wouldn't eat it. The tenders were no better than publix chicken. In fact, I think publix would put them to shame. The people were nice enough and asked for your name so that the next window would call your name but, the menu is 10 feet before the order window? Overall, I'm not impressed and honestly Don't know how you stay in business serving over priced chicken tenders and salads. Just my two cents.

Clean, good atmosphere, friendly staff, really good food. Three of us got three different meals. All were satisfied. We'll be back.

Wanted to check it out as I've heard this chain is supposed to be good. Can't say I'm terribly impressed. Chicken tenders were over-cooked, slight burnt taste and too dry. Also on the expensive side. I'll stick to going across the street to Chick-fil-A. Food there is better.

Went here for dinner the other night with the family. The food is fast casual, more like Chipolte, less like McD., which I am a fan of the concept of quality foods fast. It is a chicken place so fingers, sandwiches, and salads are about all you get but they do make them better then your average frozen chicken fingers. Everything seems fresh and tasty. Def a good place to take the kiddos.

PDQ opened recently, so I went with my parents to check it out a few weeks after they opened. For starters, the place was packed! The line was wrapped around the restaurant (inside)! Even though they were extremely busy, the line moved really fast. I got the 4 tender basket with fries and my dad got the 3 tender basket. When they came out, we were each missing a tender. They had only been open for a few weeks when we went, so I had to cut them a little bit of slack. I flagged down an employee walking by and they quickly fixed the mistake :) I really liked the tenders. The breading was crispy and the chicken was juicy. I wasn't in love with the fries. They are homemade and were a little soggy. That is usually the case with fries like this, but still, I was a bit disappointed with them. My mom got the chicken sandwich. She was not very impressed, but I didn't take a bite so I can't judge for myself :) Verdict: I liked it OK. I don't know that I would make the trip out there, but I would go if I was in the area. The prices are reasonable and the tenders are good. I just think they need to work on the fries and the communication to get the orders right.

I REALLY wanted to give PDQ a higher rating for so many reasons so I'm hoping to have an excuse to update my review. Why? you ask. Because it is so clean, they really are very fast despite the number of people who seem to faithfully crowd the restaurant at all of times of day or night, and the staff is SO friendly!! Sounds like four star restaurant! you say. The eats I've eaten is ok. Now mind you, I LOVE the chicken salad SO MUCH that I keep getting it every time I go. However, I've teenched (Ouida-ese for "sampled") some other stuff, too. The French fries come out hot and fresh, but forgettable. They are redeemed by ketchup. The oreo shake tasted like it was made from the ice cream you get from a high school cafeteria. It's edible, but there are much better shakes in many other places. The lemonade was acidic. It was like I stuck a straw in a lemon and just started sucking. I could sugar it up nor ice it down so threw it away. Did I mention I LOVE the salad? The fried chicken tenders are REALLY good, well seasoned, tasty all the way through. The honey mustard dressing is JUST RIGHT, not too thick, not to thin. I LOVE IT. And I must go back to the service. They are comparable to Chic-Fil-A. UBER-nice, helpful, and considerate (a staff member saw me struggling, alone with my sleepy toddler and swooped in like the calvary). OK . . . that's enough. I must try other things but for now, its a 3.

Ate in at PDQ for the first time today after eating it twice beforehand. The first time was drive through, and it was mediocre bordering on bad. The second time was at a school event and it was a catered lunch that was already cold, so I won't comment on that as the temperature of the food was not even remotely the restaurant's fault. However, based on my previous two times eating their food, PDQ has stepped their game up significantly. My girlfriend really wanted their grilled chicken salad, so we rolled over to the Beach/Hodges location. Attempting to be healthy, I got a grilled chicken salad and one fried tender because who can be THAT healthy all the time. The tender was great - a very airy, fluffy batter that wasn't thick but accentuated the chicken perfectly. Could have used more spice as others have mentioned, but nothing to really complain about. The grilled sandwich was boring, but have you ever had a grilled chicken sandwich that isn't loaded with bacon/cheese/other fun toppings that wasn't boring? Perfectly adequate and hit the spot when I was as hungry as I was. The problem started when I ordered another tender - the first one was delicious and I was still hungry. The second one was full of those tendony knots that tenders sometimes have that make you want to spit it out. It isn't a HUGE deal per se, but it really is gross. PDQ is obviously competing against Chick Fil A and Zaxby's. Neither are particularly amazing, but both are very solid with mechanical precision (i.e. no gross stringy bites) and PDQ obviously isn't there yet. I have no comments on their fries or shakes as I haven't tried them, but they look very good. A bright spot is service - everybody there is chipper and eager to serve. Will certainly be back if they can elevate ALL of their chicken to the level of the first tender I had.

I am a little embarrassed to admit though I only discovered this place a couple of weeks ago, I just made my third lunch visit today. This was my first dine-in experience though and it was so great I had to give them that extra star. Super fast, friendly service is always appreciated. I did not even realize the name stood for "People Dedicated to Quality" but this is definitely true. These chicken tenders are absolutely perfect. I tried the chipotle bbq sauce today and though it was smokey goodness, the buffalo blue is still my favorite. Fries are excellent here too, but do yourself a favor and take the 20 cent upgrade to try the apple slices with toffee dip, they are simply delicious. Next time I promised myself I am getting a salad.

Fresh tenders, salads, and sandwiches. My first visit and I'm a fan. PDQ stands for People Dedicated to Quality and it's so true. PDQ's menu is not overwhelming. Their salads are definitely fresh. I had the grilled chicken salad [grilled chicken tenders served over mixed greens, tomatoes, candied almonds and craisins (cranberry raisins) with blueberry-ginger vinaigrette dressing]. Their lemonade is tangy, but refreshing. The staff is very friendly. It's cool that the guys wear clean white chef-like uniforms. The restaurant looks so clean, bright, and inviting. I like the open layout. They also have outside seating with mists coming down the side of the roof on hot sunny days.

I wanted to get out of the house but with limited options in the near vicinity, I knew I would end up somewhere in the Jax Beach/Intracoastal West area. I had not had a chance to try PDQ so it seemed as good a choice as any. The parking lot is all one way around the building, so be careful where you choose to enter. The drive thru was empty to my pleasant surprise meaning I would be able to get back on the road quickly. The service was awesome. Everyone was really nice and since they had asked my name when they took my order, it felt a little more personal. Those smiles! My cheeks would hurt after smiling like that all shift long. I went with the simple 3-tender basket with fries and honey mustard. Everything was piping hot when it came out which is always nice. The fries were a little softer than I prefer, but they were cooked well and steaming fresh. The ones on the bottom got a teensy bit soggy towards the end of my meal, but everything else about them rocked. The tenders were good. Nice thin crispy coating; not too heavily breaded. Screaming hot juicy white meat tenders. And the sauce was good. Not too thick, not too sweet. Will I be back? Maybe. It's not too often I find myself stopping for food in this area, but when I do, I'll remember these guys are here.

  • Lilly C.

I've been there a couple of times where the fries were cold. The staff has always been quick to fix any problems. The food is very fresh and cheap. It's a good deal and I love how they don't keep anything in the freezer.

  • Chris B.

Terrible food. Burnt rancid fries. Bland old coleslaw. Rancid oil in the chicken. Tasteless chicken. Even the salad dressing is awful. I had to throw it away. Really should have gotten my money back.

PDQ is in a location where there are numerous eateries ( good ones too) and in my opinion they have not brought anything new to the table. PDQ is aesthetically very pleasant. It is new and clean and modern. That's about it. Paying $7.80 for 3 tenders at least infuse some flavor into the chicken. Bland food is a cardinal sin and PDQ has erred. The tenders had no flavor at all. Maybe I'm being harsh maybe a tad bit. When there is Chick-fil-a, Five guys, and Bojangles within a quarter mile I doubt I'll ever choose PDQ. notgettingonthisblandwagon

We actually just came here because we wanted something quick and didn't want burgers. Not bad. Just chicken tenders. They do have a good variety of dipping sauces - which I tried several, because it was just plain tenders. The staff is VERY friendly and they have the million flavor coke machine.

Have been here twice and I really like it. Very very simple menu. All chicken pretty much. Either sandwich or tenders or salad. Place is always super clean and service seems to be fast and courteous. Only reason not 5 is I always get there Salads which are good but there a bit small for the price. I know you pay for quality which I am OK with just would like to see a little more. Fries are really good to and wife loves the sandwiches. Haven't had a chance to try there fresh lemonade or milkshakes but it's on the list of stuff to try next time we stop in. Really need more places like this were they make good simple quality food.. No reason to over complicate things and they haven't

Ok- this place has redeemed itself in my eyes and my tummy. Apparently they read the yelp reviews as I noticed today that as the drive thru backed up, one man was going from car to car giving menus as another person went afterwards and took orders. What a great improvement. The place still isn't my favorite, but my family loves it. My husband would go everyday if I agreed. The food is fresh. I've tried grilled, fried, sandwiches, salads, slaw and apples. There's nothing to complain about with freshness. The one time they sent us stale fries, they immediately remedied the situation. The employees are pleasant. The place is clean, and I mean clean. They clean the window ledges, the tables, the floors and the cracks (in the seats) constantly. The bathrooms are clean. And the hand washing sinks are a great addition. I think if you haven't tried it, and you like chicken, you should run on in and eat there. Yum!

  • Jenny S.

Awful, just awful. The whole setup is strange, we ordered at the register from a oddly limited menu of chicken, chicken or chicken. While I understand this is a chicken place, the menu consists of chicken fingers, chicken sandwich or chicken on lettuce. After we ordered, we filled our paper cup at the now expected soda machine. After sitting down, we saw a man with a microphone saying our name and what we ordered. Uh, no thank you. We sat in a cafeteria like room to eat. The food was ordinary and processed tasting. Not a chance in the world I will ever return.

Drove through at PDQ for a 3-piece chicken meal and fries. I think my main problem with this place is it seems (at least to me) to be presenting itself as a fast-casual restaurant, something more akin to a Chipotle or Panera in terms of food quality (and certainly in terms of pricing). The reality is that this is basically Zaxby's - just some lower-tier fast food chicken. My box of chicken was blazing hot (temperature-wise), but really greasy and extremely bland. Zaxby's is almost poisonous levels of salty, but at least it's got some flavor. PDQ's chicken arrives in a box on top of a bed of fries, so by the time you get down to the fries they're completely soggy. It's an aesthetically pleasing setup, sure, but doesn't really work in practice. Can't really imagine visiting PDQ again given all the other options in the area.

Pricey and not best service. The portions are small and you stand in a long Buffet line to order your meal. The pretty darn quick name implies fast service....it took 25 min for our entrees to arrive and they tasted cheap and oily. Will not be back

Amazing. Absolutely amazing every time. Best fries, best tenders, and great sauce. In ranch is made in house and some of the best I've had (and I love me some ranch!) I frequent here a few times a week, and never had a bad experience. The jnaide is really cool too. I like the modern hand washing fountain thing they have by the drink fountains. Never seen anything like it. Never thought I'd say this but this place MIGHT replace Chick-Fil-A. I will admit... Chick-Fil-A has better milkshakes. Even if you are a Chick-Fil-A diehard, you can always come here on Sunday's

  • Timothy F.

The food was amazing. The chicken and fries were so fresh and unlike any other chicken tenders I've ever had. Also a plus that they have the coke remix machine for you'r drinks. For being so fresh the food was out in about 5 minutes which was incredible. I'm from out of town and really wish we had this where we live.

Fresh variety of chicken choices. We prefer dining in. The tenders Flavorful, juicy , meaty, and seemingly cooked just right in fresh grease. The staff is as attentive and friendly as ever. I believe they changed their fries recipe as they are now crispier and easier to eat but they do not seem to pay much attention to the amount you get with your order as each time its different Fav sauce still the creamy garlic. Must try the apple with toffee dip.

This is a fun new restaurant in Jax. The food is good and the servers are very nice. I do not like their fries. . .too greasy for me.

Their chicken sandwich is yummo! I say this is definitely a mixture of Chick -fila and Zaxby's. Their kind of pricey but the quality is worth it. Very clean and inviting with great customer service. They even have a drive thru.

Dammit, I think I'm in love with Tebow's Tenders. I am an avid University of Georgia fan, and I wanted to not like this place. I wanted it to suck, so I could write a scathing review about how Tebow should stick to his day job of sitting on the benches of various professional football teams. Can't do it. The tenders won't let me. As I strolled up to the front of this packed establishment, the door was swung wide by a PDQ employee with a smile stretched literally ear to ear. It's hard to be pessimistic when you are facing such warm people. I took a look at the menu, which is made up of chicken tenders, chicken tender salads, and chicken tender sandwiches. So they have a theme. I placed my order for a tender basket with fries and a spicy ranch sauce. They make all of the sauces fresh in-house. I barely had time to grab an iced green tea (delicious) and a bottle of malt vinegar when someone called out over the intercom in a gameshow-esque voice "Jerry, come on down your tenders are ready." It's gimmicky but I liked it. At this point in the story I find myself staring down the tenders for the first time. Just you and me Tebow, how are you going to stack up? Damn well apparently. The tenders were piping hot, perfectly seasoned, beautiful white meat coated in the most perfectly crunchy layer of fried goodness. Then I gave a handful of fries a generous splash of malt vinegar and popped them in my mouth. So good! Crispy on the outside while soft on the inside, with the perfect amount of salt. Overall I really enjoyed it here. A meal here will run you about 8 or 9 bucks, which may sound a bit high for tenders and fries but I promise you won't regret it. I literally tried to not like it and failed. Well done Tim.

    (5)
  • Mark B.

Well I will say that the Tebow name is packing them in. I arrived minutes after they opened and so did a couple of dozen folks. There was even people eating already. I had the buffalo blue sandwich and I will say it was pretty darn good. I am a huge Gator Fan and also really like Tim Tebow. But I didn't let it skew my vote on the food. I really did enjoy the chicken and it was not over cooked like most places that you go to. The tenders on my sandwich were cooked perfectly, moist, and tender. The sauce was fair and really didn't have much kick as I would have preferred. The serving was nice but there was a lot of worker bees running around the place. I know that they are brand spanking new and the whole Tim Tebow Fan crowd will be in so get ready for the crowds. I'll be back soon and will update this review.

If you're looking for some good restaurant style tenders but fast, this is the place to go! The sauces for the tenders are also amazing! Very family friendly, great staff, clean. Just a great place!

  • Edward S.

Better than Chickfila and Zaxbys. Incredible, fresh cut fries. Fresh sauces and dressings made daily. Cheerwine. Coke Freestyle machine. Start w the tenders and then venture out to the sandwiches. Even the salads are excellent. Great shakes. Clean, open facility. My favorite fast food or "fast casual" chicken joint in Jax.

    (5)
  • Jerry W.

PDQ is a pretty mediocre chicken finger joint. The chicken fingers are decent. The grilled chicken salad was just average. When we ordered the cashier recommended the blueberry coleslaw. Normally when a restaurant goes out on a limb with a crazy melding of two opposites like that it ends up being amazing creation. This one fell flat. It just wasn't good. The biggest redeeming thing about PDQ is the sauces. All the sauces are made fresh in house and you can tell the difference. Their house ranch was so good I might be tempted to bathe in it or eat it by itself with a spoon.

Wanted to see what this place was all about. It is fast food but fresh food. I went in around 11:30am and it was starting to get busy. The service was fast and friendly and the food was good. I got a fried chicken salad. The salad was fresh and already chopped up. It could used a bit more dressing but other wise it was great. Will definitely go back again. Better than Chick Fil A.

    (4)
  • Donald R.

Not as good as you think it should be is the only way I can describe it. I had high hopes for this place. The idea of the restaurant is great but it's falls way short of expectations in food quality and taste. The buffalo chicken sandwich left a lot to be desired. The salad was just plain iceberg nothing special at all, If your in the mood for chicken save the trip and go to Chickfila instead.

    (2)
  • Jessie Z.

Not really a fan of their tenders but their crispy chicken sandwich is to die for! I'd eat it everyday if I could! I also love that they sell cheerwine and the service is always excellent!

Beach Boulevard and Hodges is like the Mecca for chicken restaurants. You've got a Chick-Fil-A at the Target shopping center, Zaxby's a few blocks away, Bojangles frying up some goodness across the street, and now Tebow (#12 on the field but #1 in our hearts) brings PDQ to the Walmart shopping center. As you've probably read in the other reviews, the dining area is clean, open, and inviting. The chicken is fresh and juicy. The prices are decent and the staff are friendly. All of these things can be said about the other chicken establishments, but what makes PDQ different from the rest is the reason why I gave them a five start review...PDQ has two Coca Cola Freestyle dispensers! Yup, that was the tip of the ice burg for me. If you frequent restaurants with these Coca Cola Freestyle machines, you know how rare it is to find one with two machines. You walk into the restaurant, see only one and you feel immediate sadness because you know you'll it'll take five minutes just to get your drink. It's not because it's hard to use, it's because you have a bajillion different varieties of soda in the tip of your fingers. God help you if all you need to get is some water and your three people deep in line because the person in front is trying to find the Caffeine-Free Raspberry Diet Coke (it exists). I'm guilty of being a Coke Freestyle hog too. With a family of four I'm usually taking a few minutes myself because the wife's got to have a Sprite Zero, the Boy and the Princess need various Hi-C concoctions, and I take the healthy route and grab some Dasani. Tebow and PDQ brass had to have known this was a pain point and eliminated what was sure to be a hydration nightmare. PDQ offers quality chicken, a great atmosphere, and two Coca Cola Freestyle machines. That my friends is as good as it gets.

Kids meals were very filling for my little ones and tasted great. The aroma from the chicken tenders was a precursor to the taste which was equally as delicious. They are nice enough here to walk you with an umbrella from your car to the door in the rain which was surprising since I'd never experienced that at any restaurant. The service here is outstanding. Christina is very friendly and made the drive thru a very nice experience.

By far, one of the top 2 fast food restaurants in this area. Fresh food ALL the time and personalized experience each and every time. The first crispy turkey sandwich I've ever eaten and won't be the last from PDQ. Welcome to Jacksonville.

I've never eaten in this restaurant but I do like the drive thru. It's pretty quick. I've only had the crispy chicken salad and it's pretty good. The greens are really fresh and the chicken is flavorful. I order it with the honey mustard dressing, which is not too heavy. This is the perfect lunch salad!

Simply the best, fresh and delicious.. This place would be similar to chickfila with the meals based on chicken tenders and sandwiches but it's so much better. Reminds me of the TV commercials where the food looks so amazing that's what this place is, perfectly proportioned and you will not get a saggy chicken burger here. One of my favorites fast food restaurants here in Jax !!!
